#i hope it's good... it's my first time writing TP fanfic

A, N and V for the ask game!
A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
Oooh. Hard question, because I absolutely love almost all of my fics. But I THINK I can narrow it down. To three. (I'm indecisive LOL)
this year it taught me (lost and ambitious) was my first longfic ever (even if it's more of a collection of short stories) and is my pride and joy. The title may suck - I have no clue why it's so long - and there's plenty of flaws, but I'm very proud of this guy. Every so often I reread it and it's always a blast - past me covered a lot of different topics, a lot of relationships, and I think it had some pretty good characterization!
Educational Quandaries and Academic Arson are the silliest things I've written but also by far my favorite of my oneshots. Writing Sky as a miserable college student and hero is my favorite thing ever. It's also quite representative of myself right now - I have exams in a few weeks I should be studying for, and yet…
N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?
A solid handful. These are all WIPs, actually, not ideas, but I hope you'll forgive me for considering them interchangeable!
In the TP manga, Twilight's backstory includes him accidentally vaporizing the city he lived in before Ordon. I think they turn out to be alive and well, but fanfiction where him and Legend bond over seemingly destroying entire civilizations they loved.
HTTYD AU! Kind of. Everything's the same, and Sky essentially has a role similar to that of Hiccup in HTTYD 2 - he's an adventurer, mapping out the region around what will eventually become Hyrule. He also has Hiccup's cool-ass flying suit. I want to give Sky a cool wingsuit. That's it. (This is barely an AU, lol. I'm not an AU person for the most part. Excluding modern AUs.)
Speaking of - fanfiction where Warriors and Legend are in a car, and that car gets hit by lightning. Inspired by the same thing happening to my aunt. It didn't really do much except be frightening, surprisingly? Legend is appropriately frightened.
That's everything notable. The rest are all completed short stories and vague ideas that are more emotions than anything, lol.
V: Are there certain comments you’ve received on your stories that have stuck with you?
As I think everyone who's responded to this comment has said, I love literally each and every comment I receive! There's definitely often some that stand out, though. Some people inform you that you've hit the mark you were aiming for with your writing, others tell you about how your writing affected them personally. The latter always makes me emotional, lol. It's also fun seeing a person comment multiple times in a row on different fics - it's like, HI!! I SEE YOU BINGING MY WORK!!! I APPRECIATE YOU!!!!
Getting comments from writers you admire is great, too. As someone who used to have a huge following on my previous Ao3 account, logically I know they're just some random people who like their blorbos. But I always end up incredibly excited anyways, haha.
There's also no greater joy than a returning commenter. Often, I've found myself in like… a symbiotic relationship of commenting long paragraphs? It's amazing. I made one of my closest online friends this way, over a discussion about tea in my comments!!
Lord OKAY. I went too hard with these responses, I think, but I have a lot of thoughts. Thank you for asking, Rose!! :D

writing question from me this time (shocking)!
I know you write all the scripts for your series by yourself, and I've been interested in writing fanfics (or just fiction ig?) Of the little people inside my brain that refuse to leave, but I've always been really intimidated by writing my own stuff. Do you have any tips on writing fluent dialogue between two characters? Its always been a main struggle of mine when I do try to write, since it always comes of pretty choppy and unnatural. Do you have any writing tips in general?
Sure! I can help you out a little bit!
First: Write your brain. Whatever you have in your head, put it on paper (on on a google docs sheet) That way you have something tangible to work with.
Second: Try to find and stick with a plotline to follow. Once you have everything written out, its time to use your puzzle pieces tp make a story! There's not much I can say about this process without knowing you personally, so all I will say is just make sure you're having fun. If it's not fun for you to write, its not worth writing.
Third: At the point where you've got a plotline you want to follow, figuring out dialogue, in theory, should come naturally, but in the event it doesn't, turn to your characters and try to find similar ones in current fiction and use them as a base point for dialogue. Nothing is perfect on the first attempt. Look at Bastard Warrior. I basically just used Yargwynn's voice for Albus back then. I had no complete direction for his story, and the overall arc had many glaring issues. Obviously it was a good series in general, but even I cannot overlook certain issues it had.
In summary, you're not going to like your writing. You're your own worst critic. I am too. Make sure to take a step back and think about something else every now and again. Come back to it later. If you still aren't sure, ask a trusted friend for criticism and make sure to take everything said with a grain of salt. Not everything everyone says is exactly what you should have done.
I still get comments about Faithful having a gun during bastard warrior. Why did I never do it? Because its a stupid idea that breaks my worldbuilding. It's fun for a laugh sure, but if anyone actually wants me to do it, they can kindly kiss my posterior!
Point is, and this is my life philosophy, Everything in Moderation.
This ended up being a lot more than I wanted lol! Sorry about that! Hope this helps!

Albert Rosenfield's Day Off
Albert Rosenfield/Dale Cooper
Tumblr media
for @magnificentmoose, as part of the wonderfulxstrange event for the anniversary of the Twin Peaks revival! Albert and Coop go on a trip to the Rodin museum in Philly, mild angst and fluff. No spoilers.
The world is huge, and Cooper intends on showing Albert as much as he can of it. Or at least, Coop is wholly committed to dragging Albert around Philadelphia, giving him a crash course in the city’s arts and culture. For all of his interests in art and history, Albert noted as he chewed on a poppy seed bagel, he usually couldn’t afford to take time off to immerse himself in his new city. The bagel was untoasted, and awfully chewy - the kind that lingered furtively in the break room, untouched and uneaten - and Albert was regretting having skipped his breakfast. Perhaps tomorrow, on his day off, he’d be able to stop by the corner shop and grab some proper bagels.
Grimacing, he put down the bagel and resumed his work on writing the report of a victim of a recent slaying, one whose rope burns and repeatedly stabbed torso indicated a link between this victim and the marks on a few others. The three victims were all found within the same vicinity - on the banks of the Delaware - and the FBI was assisting Philadelphia and Camden police forces. Maybe, with his work, they’d be one step closer to catching what they all knew was clearly a serial killer.
His work dragged on, for a few more hours, and by then Albert was already settled in his working groove. Wholly dedicated to the task at hand, he at first didn’t realize who had walked in.
“Thorough as always, Albert,” A kind voice interrupted him, knocking him from his single-minded focus.
“Hey, Coop,” Albert said drearily. He slowly rose from his chair as Cooper took a swig from his own steaming cup of coffee. Albert’s own cup sat nearby, cold and abandoned. He groaned suddenly, his body creaking from sitting in his chair for the whole day. “Just about done with this report on the Number Three’s autopsy. Besides, what the hell are you doing here so late?”
“I figured I’d wait for you to finish,” Cooper chatted, “We’ve got plans, too. Have you considered what you want to hit up first tomorrow?”
Rubbing his eyes as he shuffled the papers, Albert pondered momentarily. He’d been drawn to the numerous art and culture institutions in Philadelphia, and had done some light readings on Auguste Rodin, who had a museum dedicated to his work in the city.
“I know a place that might be your speed, Albert - how about the Mütter?- they’ve got a great medical menagerie, skeletons and jars and all.”
“You know, Coop, I think I’ve had my fill of cadavers for a hot minute. Why don’t we go to, ah, the Rodin museum?” Albert responded, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
Cooper’s own eyes lit up, and he immediately snapped his fingers, exclaiming, “Albert, you’re absolutely right - the one thing we need is a refreshing break from your case. I’ll see you tomorrow at nine, we’ll grab ourselves some piping hot coffee, and we’ll be off on our day!”
Barely registering Cooper’s words, Albert stretched his back and arms and looked up. Cooper had already left, he realized. Turning around, he noted that the sky was nearing total darkness. Tomorrow, he decided. Tomorrow he’d be free to spend the whole day with Cooper, and not have to worry about everything else, just one day. Just one day.
He was walking. Down a hallway, where the fluorescent lights reflected off the lifeless linoleum floors. Invisible voices just out of eyesight whispered and chattered, the lights emitted a low buzzing noise. The faint scent of cleaning fluid, and cigarette smoke. It must’ve been Quantico, Albert realized, remembering it was just like his days as a young agent, wandering the old halls. He was holding something. Looking down, Albert saw he was carrying a bouquet of daffodils. The soft yellow and cream colored petals fluttered in some intangible draft. He was looking for someone. Picking up his pace, he walked onwards, but realized his vision was starting to blur. A shadowy, black figure lingered at the end of the hallway, quivering slightly in the distorted, flickering light. His vision swam, and the figure’s darkness morphed with the yellow of the daffodils. The buzzing from the lights changed into incessant beeping, drilling into his ears, and his vision went dark.
The beeping continued. Albert suddenly flipped over and grabbed his alarm clock, which was sounding off for his wake up time of 7:30 in the morning. Of course. Throwing his legs over the bedside, Albert groggily got up and stumbled to the bathroom. After getting washed up, he headed back to his room and instinctively grabbed a white button down shirt, before gingerly putting it back on the hanger and grabbing a sage colored shirt instead. Opting for some relaxed blue trousers as well, Albert got dressed and prepared for his outing, carefully inspecting himself in the mirror.
Later that morning, after he was satisfied with his preparations, Albert walked briskly down the street. His neighborhood was bustling with pedestrians, honking automobiles, and the occasional pigeon flapping its wings. Usually the humdrum of the city irritated Albert, but he felt oddly serene: he walked with a purpose, and with an objective in his mind. He clamped the leatherbound journal in his hands, its pages unwritten. He picked it up at the back alley bookstore, a few blocks from his apartment, not from the kind of place where the books were mass produced. Cooper needed more than just his tape recorder to report his thoughts, after all. With all too impeccable timing, Cooper himself appeared around the block’s corner, carrying a brown paper bag and a tray of two coffees.
“Morning, Albert!” He called cheerfully while striding up to meet him.
Albert gave a half-smile, which looked more like a smirk to the unfamiliar. “Thanks for the breakfast, Coop. How much do I owe-”
“-You don’t owe me a thing,” Cooper gently cut him off.
“Alright, then,” Albert responded, shoving one hand in his pocket and taking his coffee with the other. “So this museum’s down six or seven blocks, according to my map. If we take this street,” he pointed behind Cooper’s head, to the southwest, “and cross over at North 22nd and continue, it’ll be to our left.”
“Excellent. Normally I’d meander around hopelessly without a map, but directionally, I’m in good hands today.”
Albert snorted and rolled his eyes, only for moments later to realize he wasn’t wearing his tinted FBI shades. Cooper, knowing Albert well enough to understand, chuckled, and in a short time they were well on their way.
The museum itself could be considered an artistic marvel, for all Albert cared. Flanked by blossoming cherry trees and verdant beeches, the elegant marble building occupied a peaceful space within the city of Philadelphia, a perfect place to clear one’s head.
“Greek Revival architecture,” Albert murmured quietly, with Cooper nodding in approval. Stepping up and over the white marble threshold that gated the museum, Cooper and Albert walked in tandem towards the main door. “See that black-looking door next to it, with the carvings? Guess what it’s called,” Albert questioned cheekily, eyeing Cooper.
Doing his best impression of someone who was thinking awfully hard, Coop shook his head after a few moments. “I’m stumped, Albert.”
“‘The Gates of Hell’, actually. It doesn’t look so damn agonizing, if you squint a little.”
Cooper chuckled genuinely, with Albert noting that the smile reached his deep hazel eyes. What he’d do to see that expression. He felt that warm and fuzzy feeling grow inside of him, but wanted to stamp it down. Damn it, I’m being stupid again, Albert thought as he pushed the doors to the museum open, following Cooper inside.
The tickets had already been paid for, Albert noted with pleasant surprise. Was Cooper really doing all of this for him? He muttered his thanks to Cooper, his face feeling warm. He didn’t have to do this, really.
Almost reading his mind, Cooper gently squeezed his arm and said, “I’m happy to do this for you, Albert. You need this day to unwind, trust me. Look, let’s go this way.” Taking him gently by the arm, Cooper directed Albert down the stately marble hallway.
Everything was either white, black, or a somber dove gray. The floors, ceiling, walls, everything, were almost all constructed of smooth marble or granite. It felt like his dream, but not as artificial, not as foreboding. Instead of shadow figures and ominous voices roaming the halls, graceful figures languidly stretched out, and some other statues jutted out into the empty space. Curious tourists flitted between the statues, whispering to each other.
“Do you know about this one, Albert? It’s called the Burghers of Calais,” Cooper tapped him and pointed to the group of statues, a circle of emaciated men looking worryingly somber.
“It’s undoubtedly a copy, the real one’s in Calais, France. You don’t know the story behind it?” Albert asked, gesturing towards the hunched, metallic men. “Back during the Hundred Years’ War in Europe, the English army captured Calais and offered them mercy, at a price. These men, local community leaders, decided they would bear the weight of the city’s freedom. They’re going to offer their lives in exchange, they’re going to die.”
Cooper was wordless, his eyes growing dark as he took in the men’s harrowed expressions. “I can’t fathom how they must have felt, knowing it was either them or… everyone else,” he furrowed his brow in contemplation.
“You know what it’s like, to be surrounded by familiar faces and still feel like the world’s loneliest man?” Albert’s own brown eyes met Cooper’s, and for one moment too long, they locked eyes.
“I’m all too familiar with that sensation, you know. But I know I’m far from the only one,” He answered, his voice slightly unsteady.
“That’s the idea,” Albert said, looking back at the statues. “They knew that, logically, but in that moment, emotion takes over. It’s hard to think realistically when you’re walking to your death, for all you know.”
Cooper nodded solemnly. Albert’s hand brushed over his pocket, which held the small leatherbound journal. When would he give it to Cooper? Now it doesn't seem right, but when?
“You know, these aren’t the only statues in the museum, Albert. We can see more,” he said softly, gesturing towards the numerous white figures in their periphery.
Albert obliged, and they continued across the floor, the heels of their shoes softly tapping on the marble. They drifted from statue to statue, with Albert providing historical context and Cooper asking thought provoking questions. Cooper’s eyes were on the sculptures. Albert’s eyes were on Cooper. They laughed (quietly), whispered, and talked about the works of art that lined the halls, and sometimes sat in silent observance. It was good like this, Albert thought, that neither one of them felt pressured to fill the empty air with words. His eyes drifted from Cooper and the cluster of dented looking statues, to the pale white display of two figures wrapped in a passionate embrace.
“Look,” Cooper said, pointing towards the statue in question, “‘the Kiss.”
The two figures - a man and a woman - sat wrapped in each others’ arms, their rippling marble curves and muscles straining to keep each other close. It was a kiss of tender intimacy, the first of many kisses, with subtle awkwardness and hesitation. Their features were nondescript, blank enough to be anyone.
“Marvellous, isn’t it? Rodin had the eye for emotion in a fleeting moment, from creeping dread to tentative romance. It’s like looking at a still from a movie,” Albert observed, directing Cooper’s eyes along the statue’s contours with a finger.
“Clearly. Look at how the marble’s cut and carved - it looks like skin, soft and supple - imagine the skill it took to achieve this, let alone for one single statue out of many.” He suddenly reached for his jacket pocket, but patted it in confusion. “Damn, where is it?”
“Where’s what?” Albert asked, puzzled.
“My tape recorder - I think I’ve left it at home, I was going to recollect about today, and the pieces that stood out to me,” Cooper frowned, looking terribly lost without his trusty device.
“Funny you mention that,” Albert said almost too confidently, reaching into his pocket. “It’s a good thing I picked this up a while back. Made me think of you, you know.” He passed Cooper the leatherbound journal, his heart slowly moving into his chest.
Cooper looked in awe at the humble diary, gently opening the pliant cover. “Is this… for me?”
“Who else would I give it to?” Albert smirked.
“Daffodils… pressed daffodils on the front page. I’ve loved pressed flowers, but mine never look as nice as these. It’s beautiful.”
“Hey, don’t worry about it,” Albert said warmly, his own smile matching the one that spread across Cooper’s face. “Just make sure you get good use out of it, okay?”
“Of course, Albert.”
They stood in front of the white statue for a brief moment, with Cooper getting another good look at the gift. There were more statues to see, of course, and the day wasn’t even over. They had nearly the whole afternoon left, Albert realized. And for one moment, he didn’t feel like he was out of time.

Hey Phantom Theves, what kind of spooky pranks would you like to pull on people? Any specific target in mind for one?
Morgana: Well, the date is relatively close to Halloween...
Juleka: Oh, fuck yeah...!
Luka: For those who don't know, Jules loves Halloween. We'd better not have a costume contest...
Shiho: Don't tell anyone, but me, Ann and Ryuji are gonna go TP his home... well, his former home, now that he's in jail.
Makoto: I’d better come with you...
Ryuji: Aww...
Makoto: ... so I can supervise your TPing and make sure you don’t get caught.
Ann, high-fiving Makoto: Thanks!
Akira: Is now a bad time to say this will be my first real one?
Everyone, turning to Akira in shock: WHAT?!
Akira: Halloween is more over-commercialized back home than here in Tokyo due to... certain things going on there. My family doesn't like to go with along with the related festivities, especially one of my uncles. We do the winter holidays, and my folks always celebrate White Day and Valentine's Day, but... it's too long a story for now.
Yuuki: I can only imagine... your parents sound sort of shitty.
Akira: No, not really. They aren't abusive, neglectful, or anything of the sort. There were some disputes between Mom and her coworkers when I was arrested, but... I actually have a few days until I can call them now. But enough about all of that.
Haru: Ah! Is it time?
Marinette: ... I think it is!
Author B: I got it from here. Ladies and gentlemen, if you will... Raise Your Voice Against Liars is hosting a fan competition!
Author B: R.Y.V.A.L. Fanart, R.Y.V.A.L. fanfiction (of my fanfiction, mind you), even voice-acting or animating a moment, scene, chapter, whatever... the Phantom Thieves (and Team Miraculous) want to see you guys show some love!
Author B: We won't have a hashtag, but we do want you to @ us on Tumblr, Twitter, or wherever you want to post it (though we'll be most likely to see it on the mentioned two). Please tag @voicesagainstliars on Tumblr or @WriterWithWays on Twitter with whatever you may make!
Author B: Feel free to also incorporate anything that Miraculous or Persona 5 has crossed over with (Smash Bros. and its other series, for example).
Author B: While all entries are welcome, this is part of a little contest I've devised! The top 3 entries (as decided by @thebigpapilio, @tesspacez & @gimme-more-caffeine) will earn a decently-sized Persona 5- &/or Miraculous-related writing prompt. @thebigpapilio will write the winners a one-shot based on a prompt of their devising. All three places earn a commission, but only 1st & 2nd Place can pick any featured ships (as long as it isn't incestuous, abusive, etc.); furthermore, 1st Place's reward will be prioritized over both 2nd & 3rd's.
Author B: I hope y'all will do something cool... though if nobody submits anything, that's fine too. Your due date is November 27th, 2021; if less than three people submit anything, the remaining spots will be taken as a first-come-first-serve situation.
Author B: Have a good day!

Gee, I wonder who sent this in. 😂
Why I like them: When written well, he's a good character! I think his years of history on the show - and the fact that the writers do a fairly good job of actually remembering that history compared to other characters - have given him a lot of... weight and grounding, I suppose. And the quality of George Rainsford's acting can be variable, but when he's good, he's REALLY good and adds a lot to Ethan's character.
Why I don't: He went through what was an absolutely awful patch of writing while he was Clinical Lead, and tbh I don't think the writing for him truly recovered for a long time after that (that storyline where he was into the girl who was barely university age... yikes).
Favourite episode: I don't remember what it was called, but the second episode of series 36? The one that ends with him giving Bodhi away to Fenisha's parents? That was a brilliant episode. George Rainsford was incredible in that one.
Favourite season: Series 35 (and the latter half of S34 tbh) did a lot of work to redeem him after the bad writing he'd been suffering from for years, and I haven't seen much of his earlier episodes, so S35 has to be my pick.
Favourite line: Can't think of one. Although, his line in S36E02 when he's having visions of Cal in the superhero costume, and hallucination!Cal asks why Ethan pictures him in that outfit rather than anything else and Ethan answers "because we were loved then and I was happy"... that does make me tear up.
Favourite outfit: His Fourth Doctor cosplay from the Comic Con episode, obvs.
OTP: Him and Fenisha, tbh. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of him with his other love interests, but I always felt Fenisha was the only person I could truly see him with. I'm so angry they killed her off to make him miserable.
I also like the Ethan/Rash ship, I can definitely see why it's so popular.
BroTP: Him and Cal, obviously! (A very literal Bro-TP, haha.) Also him and Arthur from Holby, I thought it was really sweet and made sense how they were implied to be friends, I wish we could've seen that properly. There is an excellent fanfic about them though, that fills those gaps a little: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12179407/1/Young
Headcanon: As shown by the above note about liking the Ethan/Rash ship, I am a fan of bi!Ethan. I know I'm not the first person to say it, but I don't care, it's a good headcanon.
Also, just a little thought, not much of a headcanon, but just something I like to imagine - when he went up on the Holby wards and met Gaskell back in 2018, he definitely paused for thought and went "...hey, is it just me or does this guy look like the Eighth Doctor?". He then proceeded to decide they didn't look that similar, and he was imagining it. 😂
Unpopular opinion: I don't think I have any unpopular Ethan opinions, lol.
A wish: I wish they hadn't killed off Fenisha and Ethan could've been happy with her.
Plausibly - I'd say I want him to have a happy ending, but I don't know how happy of an ending he can have when he has an inherited degenerative disease and the symptoms are already starting. That's going to hang over any exit he gets. So I guess I just want him to find plenty of love - romantic or platonic - in his life before he eventually leaves the show.
An oh-god-please-don't-ever-happen: I hope they never have him try to go out with another barely-university-aged girl ever again.
5 words to best describe them: Shy (not as much as he used to be, but you still see it poking through at times), anxious, tragic (yes, that describes his entire character at this point, poor bloke), geeky. That's four words, but I can't think of a fifth.
My nickname for them: Don't have one.

so Malin had that interesting post on game design and some of the rules he created for Fallen Hero specifically, and tbh, I think FH has become a model for how others are creating their own from what I've seen. I was curious if you did something similar when you were planning out Passenger, and/or if there was anything different that you've been focusing on or trying to emphasize (i never give you easy questions)
I read it; Malin is, once again, the person I want to be when I grow up.
I think FH has become a model for how others are creating their own from what I’ve seen.
Hopefully; Fallen Hero is one of the best examples of interactive fiction I’ve read (it ticks all the right boxes for me and by now I think it’s pretty obvious it’s been a huge inspiration for my own work).
(i never give you easy questions)
Tumblr media
(pictured: my last 2 brain cells trying to work together)
I will take the atheist youtuber approach and I’ll revise Malin’s comment step by step to see what resonates with me and what doesn’t.
Malin: “My goal was to write interactive fiction, not a game.”
100% this. Reading the forums I realized I was a lot more into games that told me a story and had rich characters and interactions than, I don’t know, about the I shoot the gun *roll dice* It doesn’t work. Baddie shoots gun *roll dice* It leaves a cool scar on MC’s arm. I have nothing against that type of games, neither against micromanaging, it’s just there’s so many times I can go feed the goats before my brain goes away and comes back once every goat has died of starvation. I get bored, that’s what I’m saying.
M: “Trust. This was the first rule. I needed to build trust in the reader, and make them realize that there would be no game over in this book, no way to fail so badly you couldn’t get back from it.”
This too. I didn’t want to put game overs around every corner. Don’t get me wrong, it works. One of my fave WIPs is Monsters (TW for everything basically) and I died like five times before getting it right, but Monsters isn’t just about dying; I like the NPCs, I like the MCs, it’s a cool slash horror game and I think it makes more sense to die in that game than it does to do it in mine. They say eliminating the possibility of dying kills the suspense and encourages players to play stupidly; TP is a game about an eldritch abomination and their gang of freaks, not rocket science: If players are having fun I did my job.
M: “The only reason you would make a choice should be that it felt right for your character, and you wanted to see what happened.”
I disagree with this one; I really like the oppose pairs COG encourages so much, and after reading dozens of games I found that the author that makes it work best is Devon (Samurai of Hyuga saga). I loved that the most important use of the oppose pairs was to choose your ronin’s personality traits (Devon tends to get a little carried away with how every single choice must be affected by them, but that’s because he’s a more gamey author, while I’m more interested in the role-playing aspect). That’s why there’s no way to fuck up too much in my game if you choose the “wrong” option (read: the option that doesn’t align with your traits). You are still supposed to think about your Newman and what answer feels the less OOC. Some people like to play a character that has some agency of their own (raises hand), other people are control freaks (jk I love you all xD) which bring us to the next point;
M: “Immersion. The second rule, and the thing that influenced my stats and flags. They should be there to help immersion, to enable me to to callbacks to earlier events, and to tailor text to the reader. While there’s an unusually fixed protagonist in Fallen Hero, I wanted variability in how they were presented. While things like cautious/daring influences success in certain fights, that’s actually a secondary function. Instead of trying to artificially have a stat chance with every choice to make it ‘matter’, I embraced the thought that the changing text itself did matter enough.”
All of this. There’s no way I can say it better. Also ties in with MCs having different thoughts and reactions on what’s going on around them. Flavor text rules.
M: “Consequence. That being said, I wanted there to be tension and nervousness, which meant that there needed to be consequence. This was tricky, especially over three books where a lot of the consequences won’t come until later in the series.”
The consequences in my book are a lot quicker to come and bite you in the ass than in Malin’s book (of fucking course); that’s why there are flags just about everywhere and some people will be lacking one or two companions from CH6 onwards.
M: “No lock-in.” “There’s no point in which a RO becomes locked in for good, and at the same time you don’t get locked out if you didn’t start a romance at a certain point…”
Since I have less time to show you things, I had to pick and choose what’s more important for the story I’m trying to tell. For example, what’s more important: keeping the romance paths open or having more fluffy flavor text with your chosen RO. Guess which one I chose (took me 2 solid seconds to make that call I’m telling you)
As I said before, don’t try to create your own angsty path: I FEED on angst, I won’t disappoint you. Smooch that RO, hug Livvy, everything will be taken away by me raining fire on Newman and co anyways.
M: “Secrecy. One way I picked to help me heighten tension was to keep secrets from the reader,”
Not a big fan of this one if I’m being honest. I’m not mad about it or even vocal (this is the first time I say anything) I just could do without it. Fallen Hero is great and I love it, it’s just sort of weird at times when Sidestep goes like “Did they know about the blue button and the diet coke, did they?” And I’m like, “Bitch I sure hope they do because I have no idea what you’re talking about”. FH is my second favorite game (my #1 if I don’t count WIPs) but yeah, that. Maybe if all secrets are revealed by the end of book 2, and book 3 is about Sidestep (and the player) reacting to them, maybe I won’t find it so distracting.
The Passenger has its fair share of secrets (it has to) but most of them aren’t even secrets (what is Newman? where do they come from? what about the Old Ones?) that’s just how cosmic horror works. Things just are, there’s no explanation; the magic trick is always a lot less impressive once you know how it works, and some things are better left unsaid. Whatever your mind comes up with will be one hundred times worse than any explanation I might give you.
M: “Community.” “by having people share and gossip and theorize, the story became so much greater than their single paths.”
No shit I love this. And not only when someone pushes too far and breaks their own heart by being curious *cough*shokujin*cough* but also when people come up with their own headcanons, fanfics, fan comics. Reading my babies’ words through someone else’s creation blows my mind, I’m not kidding. It’s almost dissociative. Also, I write fanfiction, I read it, I’ve made fan comics and art and I know the amount of work and love that you guys pour into it and it’s always super flattering.
All in all, I guess our approaches were pretty similar. I could talk about this for days, that’s why I chose to keep it as close to Malin’s comment as I could.

Mun Things and Fandom Notes
about the mun. fill this out  &  tag a few people you’d like to get to know better !
tagged by the lovely @vetlanwrites tysm tagging some people I haven’t tagged before: @amalgammuses, @animus-inspire, @kychchc, @rotinthedark, @warofthebeasts & YOU!
name: my name is [ loud music interrupts ] nickname:  you can call me Kat or KF! preferred pronouns: she/her age range:  30+ favorite animal:  cats pets: cat and a dog tattoos/piercings: I had my ears pierced several times and they won’t stay pierced so I gave up on anything -shrug- star sign: virgo! I’m an August bby how long have you been in this fandom?: doing just the ones I currently have muses for, and not the ones I’ve only talked about -
Dragonball(Z) - I’ve been writing in DBZ since... oh geez, the late 90′s? I think the first fic I ever posted was DBZ and it was around that time. I didn’t start rping it until like, early 00′s though.
Final Fantasy - I actually dabbled in 9 a little bit around the time it came out in ‘00 (my friend had it!) but I wouldn’t say I really did much until I really got into 7, and that was around... geez, ‘05? I rped it a little with a friend around then but I didn’t really start writing it much until nearly ‘10. #latetotheparty Yet I do consider it my “home” fandom - I always come back to it.
Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons - early ‘00s! My first HM/SoS game was Friends of Mineral Town on my trusty GBA and I love it so much to this day. SO excited for the remake!
Legend of Zelda - I really, really loved Ocarina of Time from the get-go when I got it on the N64 in ‘98 (I got it again for the GameCube and the 3DS and would totally buy it for the Switch, just sayin.) Majora’s Mask creeped me out a bit and was stressful but I liked it, too. And then of course later titles like Twilight Princess were just... -chef’s kiss- but I didn’t really dig into the fandom until ‘10-’11 when I started rping Link with a friend and briefly tried joining a forum rp group (shoutout to ZRPG!) with an OC
Marvel Cinematic Universe - I want to say around ‘12, when Avengers came out? Like, I’d seen Iron Man but I didn’t really dig into it until then.
Pokémon - late 90′s / early 00′s because I first started my Pkmn journey playing Gold and Crystal. While I didn’t write fanfic or rp it, I definitely had headcanons and a lot of feels.
Sailor Moon - early 90′s! I first watched the anime as it came out, though I’ve since forgotten most of that and only have the manga/crystal in my head to run interpretations off of. It was so pretty tho.
Stardew Valley - a newer fandom for me, I really only started getting “into” it about a year ago, but man... I love it, I really do
Star Wars - despite early access to the OT as a kidlet, I didn’t actually get “into” Star Wars until the Prequels in ‘99 (fite me) when I fell in love with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and promptly, voraciously, dove into fixit and timetravel fanfic. By the time KOTOR came out in ‘03 I was hooked.
Threads of Fate - I think I got into this one on the ground floor, so to speak. My friend had just gotten it and I borrowed it from her and my brother’s PS1 in ‘00 and that was it, I was in love.
why did you choose this specific character/s?:  under a cut bc I have like... nearly 30 muses now
I’m doing alphabetical order (by fandom / first name) bc it’s just easier to go down my list:
tl;dr I picked them all because I love them. Read on to find out why. Click their names to read their bios!
Dragonball Z
Vegeta - oh man, actually one of the first characters I ever rp’d or wrote in fic, and that’s saying something. I picked him because I love him. He’s an absolute ass, but he grows so much throughout Z. (I have yet to see Super, hoping to one day remedy that but we’ll see!) I guess I picked him up for nostalgia’s sake? I really love the character and think there’s a lot of growth yet to see buried under that pride and ego. If you can unearth it.
Final Fantasy
Angeal Hewley (FF7) - actually my first muse on Tumblr, back in... oh, 2013? The blog has been deleted, but he was the first muse I ever played seriously out of FF7. There’s parts of Angeal that really resonate with me, enough that - when I was a less experienced writer - I got tangled up in him a bit too much, made him a bit too personal, and I realized I had to take a step back from writing him. But I love Angeal, and after some time had passed, having written him in various fics, I’ve felt confident adding him... even if I haven’t done anything with him here yet.
Cait Sith (FF7) - I know a lot of people see Cait Sith as all sorts of negative things, but frankly I adore the little guy. And I guess I took him on partially because I couldn’t take Reeve on and not take Cait on, but partially because I see so much in him that could be interesting to explore and would really, really love to. (Any Reeve’s or AVALANCHE - or Turks! - come at me!)
Chaos (FF7) - I picked Chaos up on a whim, as far as Tumblr goes. I really enjoy rping him/Vincent off Tumblr and writing him in fics, and I suppose I just wanted to present a different side of him than I usually see. I’ve even had a thread that has a great deal of promise so I think it was worth it.
Genesis Rhapsodos (FF7) - my third FF7 blog, I think? It’s still up, though obviously not in use, just because I’d put so much work into it. I really adore Genesis, and love writing him. I love his sass and flare, but I love that he’s deeper than all the fire and flamboyance, if you’re willing to look past that. I’m lucky that I’ve had some lovely partners to explore him with, though I’d still kill for an Angeal to throw him at. XD Or a Sephiroth, for that matter.
Lazard Deusericus (FF7) - Lazard, my second FF7 blog and an unexpected love. I picked him up because I had recently started writing him in earnest with an off-Tumblr rp partner ( @thegeeksqueaks ) and was really enjoying him, and hadn’t seen him on Tumblr yet so thought I might get more partners that way. (It turned out there were a couple but they were inactive.) His first blog was accidentally deleted - over five years worth of character development and relationships - so after briefly working him up again solo I brought him over here. He’s not getting the same level of attention but it’s worth it not to be juggling blogs.
Reeve Tuesti (FF7) - pre-Remake, most of the Reeve rpers had gone inactive (shoutout to the fabulous @engineering-robotics and @animus-inspire for coming back!) and just... I love the character too much not to see him in the RPC. Of course, I love to write him period myself so I’d love more threads there but regardless he’s so much fun.
Tristan Pierce (FF7 OC) - Triiiiiiiiiis. Tristan was actually born as an NPC off of Lazard’s blog, who took a life on his own because he was just... so full of life. He actually had his own blog, too! I’ve barely done anything with him here, but I still keep him just because he gives me feels and he’s just neat. (He does still appear in the background of Lazard’s threads though.)
Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons
Iris (SoS) - I actually picked up Iris as a muse first for a fantastic HM/SoS/SDV/etc rp group I’m in a couple years ago, and liked playing her so much I thought I’d bring her here. Elegant lady novelist? Yes please.
Neil (ANB) - unlike Iris and Trent, I haven’t written Neil anywhere else, but he’s my love from A New Beginning and just... he seems like he’d be fun to write? I’d love to flesh him out.
Doctor/Trent (FoMT/MFoMT; DS/CUTE) - Trent, like Iris, is one I write for the rp group and I legit picked him up because of the opportunity for h/c I am not sorry. But seriously though, he’s grown on me so much and I love my awkward doctor.
Legend of Zelda
Midna (Twilight Princess) - TP is one of my absolute favorite Zelda games, and Midna a favorite character. There’s just so much to her you don’t get to see that I was really hoping to get to dig into, still hope one day to. We’ll see. Worth keeping on roster.
Revali (Breath of the Wild) - my newest addition! I keep saying in complete seriousness “Genesis with more feathers” but seriously, I may have a type? I love him so much and wanted to see more of him, and by god if I have to do it myself so be it. (I have been playing a ton of BOTW lately which probably has a lot to do with it. XD)
Sheik (Ocarina of Time) - I love them so much. OoT didn’t have a ton of character building, but the sheer implications of the character speaks volumes that I want to explore. I’m lucky enough to be getting the chance to, too.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Tony Stark - did I mention I have a type? I feel he makes a good argument for it. I originally picked Tony up because I just fell head over heels for the character in the first couple Iron Man movies + Avengers. I... am less in love with him in the later movies, not gonna lie, and am so far behind on lore that I’m considering dropping him. But yeah, originally picked him up just because he had so much potential. Thx Disney, great job there.
Pokémon (gameverse)
Lily Hart (HG/SS OC) - another OC of mine, this time for a fandom that... I only really know through the games, as opposed to manga/anime. I picked her up because I really liked the idea of doing events or little ask things with her, and still may try to initiate some more of those. We’ll see?
Sailor Moon (manga/Crystal)
Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury - I actually picked Ami up because of a plot with @magicalxgirlsxrp where we were splitting up the Inners and the Shitennou for some mega threads. XD But yeah, I do like her. Even if she’s a challenge to write sometimes because she’s very much not like me, and very much smarter.
Kunzite - Kunzite I have always loved, always, and I’ve had him on here because I really wanted to explore him more. I love him even more after the teasing in Crystal of what might have been, be still my shippy heart.
Mamoru Chiba/Endymion/Tuxedo Mask - super fond of Mamoru, too; I didn’t care for him so much in the 90′s anime, but in the manga and Crystal I really became more fond. I do a few things differently, I think, but don’t we all? I picked him up for that very reason, in fact.
Minako Aino/Sailor Venus - Minako is really interesting to me because there’s so much more to her than her airheaded, bubbly persona that fits her like a glove... but is just as superficial. I mean, she’s sunny and happy but she’s also the OG Senshi, the leader of the Inners, a powerful, commanding fighter - she’s complex, and I really wanted to explore that + getting to have fun with her bubbliness.
Nephrite - another picked up from @magicalxgirlsxrp‘s enabling. But I do find him really interesting so it works out well. Haven’t done a lot with him, but we have plans. Plans I’m looking forward to.
Stardew Valley
M. Rasmodius - I knew I really wanted to do something with SDV, once I got to playing it, but I wasn’t sure who. I thought about Sebastian and Elliot, but already had interacted with a couple who were just fantastic. So instead, I did a good fallback of mine - because I never, ever get tired of playing mages. Ever. XD
Star Wars
HK-47 (KOTOR) - the attitude. I wanted to write HK entirely because of the scorching levels of sass from this droid.
Liana Raine (SWTOR f!JC) - the Jedi Consular storyline is one of my favorites out of all of SWTOR (tied with the Inquisitor, but I’m revamping her) and I really just wanted to keep playing with it even once I’d done the dedicated storyline.
Revan (KOTOR LS!F) - give me female Revan you cowards. -ahem- I have feels about Revan, okay? I love her so, so much - she even had her own blog, I love her that much. I would absolutely love to do something more with her but I will hold on to her if for no other reason than to make sure at least one black, female Revan exists in the world. (I want all the timetravel and crossover threads, hit me up.)
Tharan Cedrax (SWTOR) - another for attitude, really, and also definitely my type. XD He’s charming, he’s snarky, he’s sassy, he’s brilliant... I very much like Tharan and really felt he, like most of the companions, deserved more screentime. So, I’m here to give it to him.
Threads of Fate (Dewprism)
Duke - he’s so cool. I mean, he’s a dork, but his powers are amazing and he’s just a fun, incredibly upbeat character to play. And well, anything to spread my love of that teeny fandom.
Fancy Mel - Mel hits all the sweet spots for a mage character. She’s got flavor, she’s got amazing powers, and she had room to create a fantastic backstory with amazing crossover potential. Is she a bit OP? Yes. But she has no intention of using it for anything but her amusement/whimsy.
Rod the Bladestar - I love Rod. I love his oddly genteel manners, I love how he’s unwittingly sexist but quickly cleans up his act when put straight, I love how driven and passionate he is. Could do without such a typically-Square-outfit, but you can’t have everything. (In the right artists’ hands, he might even be pretty amazing, actually.)
Did you read all of that? Amazing. Any of them strike your interest? Hmu and maybe we could plot a thread! :eyes:
Also I sincerely apologize to mobile users who had to read all that because Tumblr can’t get it’s act together.

Anonymous said: I wish u the best during your hiatus!!! Take lots of care bby :3 Just wanted to tell you how much I love the 'Bitchin' series, I'm shooketa at how well written it is. Y/N is a really refreshing character, especially as an STEM major myself, it's so relatable to some extent, especially when it comes to appreciating compliments about your inteligence, that really got me, since it's kinda unsual. I hope I found a Jungkook one day then :') jk, but really, I absolutely loved it, you're the best!!!
Anonymous said: hi just so u r aware if u make the end of bitchin’ sad i will cry. that will be on u. my tears will be UR fault.
Anonymous said: i just wanted to say thank you. when bitchin’ came out, there was a part where y/n talks about why she hated her twin sisters. it was comforting to know that i wasn’t alone in feeling uncool or boring. i never brought up my brother because i thought people would see how uncool i was and so i put my effort into school instead. thanks for bringing me comfort and for pushing me to love myself more and to change my viewpoints on the parts of myself i view as boring!!!!! 💛💛💛💛💛💛🌼
this made me :’))) i love knowing that you can find comfort in my characters!!! there is a little piece of me in all my characters but I do try to make them all somewhat different so that other people can relate. best of luck lovely!!
purplealiensblog said: Yo ily and cant wait for the next chapter of bitchin but i have to share: i got a notif on a new chapter and was all excited and then i discover its tumblr being glitchy again and notifying me on the last one :( i hope you will find time soon to write the rest and thank you for writing i love your work🥰♥️

In today's world of formal education, the first thing you might be wondering is, who am I to give writing advice? What are my credentials? Do I have a degree in English? Have I taken creative writing courses? Am I a published author? No, no, and not exactly. What I do have is a college ready score on my GED, eleven years of writing experience, and a great deal of positive feedback - as an author of fanfiction. I can imagine many of you are getting ready to back-click now. You might be thinking fanfiction isn't real writing, or that those who write it are too lazy or unimaginative to create their own worlds. Well, let me ask you something. What happens when an author writes a sequel to one of their own books? They already have their characters developed and their world established. Does that mean the sequel takes no effort to write? Of course not! Stories don't start with characters and worlds. They start with ideas. Characters can give you ideas, but they aren't the story. Let's say our hypothetical author was curious about a minor antagonist from their first book and wanted to know more about him. All we know from the original material is that he was an avid follower of the main villain, and was left devastated by the death of his master. Assuming the author is skilled at building characters, they already know why he was so loyal to the villain and why he took the loss so badly, even if it wasn't mentioned in the story. Maybe the villain saved his life once, and they eventually became friends. The author might start wondering what that friendship looked like and how it developed, or perhaps why the villain saved him to begin with. Wondering about the characters generates ideas, and finally the author decides to write about them. But what if the world established by the original material doesn't have the characters and locations required by the new story? The author has to create new ones, or further develop old ones. If it's the latter, they need to keep the characters close enough to their portrayals in the first book that readers can recognize them under different circumstances, especially if they had enough scenes to develop clear personalities. If they go with new characters, they need to be as interesting and believable as the original cast. These are only a few of the things an author needs to do to write a new book in a preexisting world, but the point is, no one calls them lazy for building on material they already have. Quite the contrary, many fans will love exploring the world and its inhabitants in more depth. The only difference between this and fanfiction is that the fanfic writer doesn't own the original material - the creation process is exactly the same. If you remain unconvinced, feel free to hit that back button now. I can't stop you. But if you're willing to read on, let me tell you a bit about myself and my development as a writer.
My first foray into writing was a story for Super Mario World at age eleven. Each chapter was two to four handwritten pages, and the quality was about what you would expect from a kid who didn't want to waste time figuring out where paragraphs went or how words were spelled. But I had fun, and although I eventually lost interest in that first story, I didn't stop writing. I couldn't - the ideas wouldn't let up. The next five years were a flurry of creation. I dabbled in both original works and fanfiction, though I rarely wrote more than a few pages before losing interest and moving on to the next idea. I wrote my own bios for video game characters, came up with new villains for them to fight (and wrote bios for them too), and even outlined plots for the imaginary games the villains would appear in. Backstories were a special favorite, to the point where, at age sixteen, I finally gave up the present day to write about my favorite character's youth. I still consider that story to be when I truly started writing, despite the years preceding it. Before then I rarely used paragraphs, freely mixed upper and lower case letters, and was generally lazy about how I wrote. But when I started work on this one, I promised myself that I would break those bad habits. And I did, though it would be more accurate to say they just fell away. By the time I finished the first chapter I was cringing at the sight of things I had written just days earlier. Syntax isn't the only reason I consider that story to be the true start for me, however. Humor had always been my default genre because that was what my one-person audience enjoyed. But after a few light-hearted chapters, my writing “voice” began to develop. And it was dark. The story slowly became more serious until I found myself writing about mental health issues and abuse. I was a little unsettled, but continued to write whatever came to me. I also began reading about psychology and mental illness, and applied what I learned to my story. I had discovered research.
Sixteen chapters in, just when my main character hit rock bottom and I was transitioning into the part of the story where things improved, my audience of one declared the story “too depressing”. It had never occurred to me until then that I was supposed to “control” the story and make it turn out a certain way, and it wasn't a good lesson to learn. I tried to make the next chapter more like the beginning of the story - to “fix” it - but the results were jarring at best. I experienced true writer's block for the first time, and the story died soon after. I didn’t stop writing, but I did keep subsequent works to myself. Because even though I didn't want to continue that first story, the theme wouldn't leave me alone. All of my new ideas contained elements of abuse, mental illness, and general powerlessness. I played around with plots and finally settled on one that was more action/adventure than psychological drama. It didn't come as easily as its predecessor, but it still flowed well. I was pleased with it. Then I discovered my former audience reading it, despite my previously telling them they weren't allowed. At first it didn't matter: they said it was the best thing I'd ever written, and that I'd gotten much better. So I let them continue reading and kept writing until, once again, it was denounced as “too depressing” just as things were about to improve. I'm sorry to say I made the same mistake a second time, and tried to force a more cheerful chapter before giving up entirely.
But there's a saying that the third time's the charm. Not long after that disappointment, I became enamored with a different series and began to write about that instead. The first few attempts were false beginnings, more to get a feel for the characters than anything. But it didn't take long for an idea to come, bearing the same dark themes as the previous stories. Once again I began writing, but this time I didn't keep it to myself. When the first chapter was ready I added a warning for dark themes and posted it on a couple different fanfiction sites. I couldn't believe the results. This time around the story had no lighter beginning - it was bad right from the start. Yet no one complained. No one said it was too depressing. Instead people expressed concern and sympathy for the protagonist, and said it was well-written. I'll admit, I was ridiculously pleased. The next chapter received the same results, and so did the next. My audience now was vast, and it liked my twisted little story. So I wrote more. Humor, romance, horror, angst, drama. Whatever the genre, people enjoyed it. Over time I learned how to use humor to make the serious moments more powerful, how to convey emotion through the characters’ actions, and how to cut out unnecessary words to make the narrative flow. My writing style and voice continued to develop, and the praise went from merely “well-written” to “amazing” and “fantastic”. I can't guarantee that this blog will teach you the same lessons. Maybe you've already learned them. Maybe you like your style as it is and don't want to change it. Or maybe you feel like you're doing something wrong, and my blog is just another in a long list that you've visited in search of answers. Whatever your skill level, experiences, and reasons for being here, all I can do is offer advice and hope it helps. And if you're still sceptical because my experience comes mainly from writing fanfiction, consider this: the entry you just read wasn't fanfiction. Judge my abilities as you will.

Fic Rec Day
Here are my favorite fanfic’s found online. :)
Codename: Kids Next Door
Broken
This story about Father finding out he has a biological daughter is SO sweet! Sasha is a well rounded OC and Father isn’t OOC.
Finding Happiness
This 3/4 fic is everything you could ask for in a story! It has angst, romance, humor and really cool moments! DEFINITELY give it a read if you like the 3/4 pairing!
Doctor Who
Against All We Know
Kate Stewart/Rani is a very strange pairing, but the author really makes it work! There’s some angst and sexual references mixed in so be warned.
Alone
A story told from the 1st person POV of a Dalek? That’s ridiculous! Yes it is, but it works. It really, really works! This is a novelization of the Series 1 episode “Dalek” and it’s really awesome and sad!
Bitter Dancer
Smutty and hot. ;)
The Chronicles of Impossibility series
I really enjoy this series, despite the cursing, sexual references and mature themes. The angst is quite heartbreaking, but very well written. Definitely give it a read if you like Whouffaldi, Twelve/River and Clara/River as the three of them are in a relationship together!
Guardians of the Universe series
This seven story epic that is far from finished is one of the most intricate, detailed, coherent and entertaining series I’ve EVER read! It features Rose as the protagonist and she’s a relationship with Nine, Ten, Eleven and Twelve. Some people might not like that, though. So be warned.
In Another Life
Misffle AU’s. ‘nuff said.
My Clara
Hasn’t been updated in a while, but the three chapters that are there really make the Misffle relationship work and it’s very realistic.
Mystery Girl - One Moment - She’s Back
These stories are REALLY good! I love the villains, the tension, the mystery (see what I did there) and the OC’s!
Small Bump
Absolutely heartbreaking. You will cry.
The One Who Returns
Very bittersweet and a good explanation for Twelve’s and Missy’s last scene in “The Witch’s Familiar”.
This is Yesterday
This is SUCH a good story! It wraps up some unanswered questions from the show (i.e. Rassilon and the Hybrid), brings up good plot lines and conflicts and the characters are REALLY well handled!
Travels in the TARDIS series
I really enjoyed this Osgood and Missy series with some Clara, Danny and Twelve mixed in. There’s romance (with a sex scene in “Blue Christmas”, so be warned), angst, humor and tension. Very good read.
When We Travel Book 1 and Book 2
This story isn’t perfect, with formatting and pacing issues that somewhat runs out of ideas sometimes. That being said, Whouffaldi fans should still love it! Though it hasn’t been updated in a while.
Where’s Poppet?
Very sad. Also contains spoilers for “Face the Raven”.
Harvest Moon
Dove’s Nocturne
Hasn’t been updated in a while, but it’s very tense and kind of scary... for Harvest Moon anyways.
Dying by the dream
Sad story revolving around Celia’s unrequited love for Jack.
Frostbitten Flower
Lovely, angsty and bittersweet story revolving around Marlin and Celia, as well as her relationship with the deceased Jack.
Hidden Greed, Hidden Grief
Lovely story about selfishness. That sounds weird, but just read it and you’ll understand.
Instant Message
Very cute story involving Chelsea and Vaughn.
Love and Hate - Honesty and Deceit
I LOVE the way the author makes the romance, angst, tension and humor work in the first story and as for it’s sequel, Chelsea and Vaughn have to deal with murderer that’s set her eyes on them!
Loveless: Jack’s and Celia’s story
Kind of fast paced, but still very sweet and has a good plot.
Maybe Mummy Misses You
Very sad.
Necessary
Love this Marlin/Celia oneshot.
Perfect
Crazy oneshot and it makes you think.
Under a Moonlit Sky
Hasn’t been updated in a while, but it’s an AWESOME story!
Legend of Zelda
30 Tales of Fate
Very cute.
A Glass of Port
A “what if” scenario involving WW Link and Ganondorf at the beginning of the game. Shame it was never continued.
A Love Story
One of the best ZeLink stories out there.
Cry for Hyrule
Very good Wind Waker story that deviates from the game’s plot in a good way and is very enjoyable.
Forgotten Memories - Twilight Sunrise
Love these Ilia/Link stories. Twilight Sunrise hasn’t been updated for a while though.
Fortitude
Another “one of the best” ZeLink stories out there.
Kasuto’s Redemption
Still reading it, but I’m very much enjoying myself! Set in the TP verse.
Matchmakers
Cute story.
More than it Seems
Tense, romantic and sad. Trigger warnings for abuse.
Remember Me As A Time Of Day
LGBT represented in ST Zelda and Tetra. And it’s good!
Running to You
Haven’t properly read this one yet, but what I have read is good!
The Crimson Loftwing
Hasn’t been updated in a while, but this story is SO good! It’s fluffy, sad, angsty and just all around awesome!
The Infinite Wisdom of Wives
Awesome and sweet ZeLink story.
Til the Sun Grows Cold and the Stars Grow Old
Another ZeLink story that’s canon compliant with TP and the rest of the Zelda verse.
To Take Chances
Another good ZeLink story.
Transcendence - Little Princess
Another good ZeLink story. Some mature scenes, references and trigger warnings for stillborn birth.
Zelda: Winds of a New Beginning - Zelda: Winds of a New Darkness
These stories are SOOOO good! They’re incredibly well though out, have a little bit of everything and are just all around AWESOME!
Mario
A Twilight Tale
Very bittersweet and ties into the game nicely.
Better Off Alone - Better Off Alone II: Hope and Faith
I LOVE these stories! Koops/Vivian seems like a strange pairing, but the author REALLY makes it work! Trigger warnings for abuse.
Change of Heart
I’m not really sure if I ship Bowser/Peach, but this story REALLY made me want to!
Paper Mario: The Temple of the Sun
This story perfectly plays out like an actual Paper Mario game, with the vibrant settings, awesome characters, the twists and turns and the ending was so beautiful and satisfying.
Paper Mario X - Paper Mario X 2 - Paper Luigi X - Super Paper Mario X
This crossover series with Paper Mario, Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Sonic, Kirby and some others is incredibly well done and still keeps true to the games.
Naruto
Chipped Mask
Some people might not like this self-insert with an OC that “fixes” everything, but I still enjoyed it.
In The Blood
This over 100 chapter epic is freaking awesome! The OC’s and characters have amazing depth, there’s plot twists like you wouldn’t believe and everything’s kept quite true to canon! Trigger warning for abuse.
Little Mouse
Hasn’t been updated for a while but this NaruHina & Gaara/Hinata story is really well written; especially Gaara who isn’t a good guy here.
The Mating Frenzy
Hilarious. Though the humor’s inappropriate.
New Blood - Old Souls
Love these stories. Everything’s SO well written; the characters, the plot and everything else.
Yet again - Take Two Round Two
These stories ROCK! You might not like the “over powered” OC’s involved but it’s really well done here!
Transformers
Fallout - Fallout: Apocalypse
The angst, humor, fluff, romance and OC’s are really well balanced in these stories.
Xenosaga
Agas One X: Redefined
Hasn’t been updated in a while but this is a great High School AU and the humor is great.
Other
A Very Muppets Mystery
LOVED this story! If you like mystery and the Muppets, definitely check it out,
Freddy’s Girl
The pacing and formatting is terrible, but it’s incredibly entertaining!
Authors
Aiselne Phoenix Nocturnus
Their Xenosaga stories are very emotional and beautiful.
Bonus Parts
I really enjoy how this author ships Sally Sparrow and Larry Nightingale and writes them very well!
firefly
His Naruto stories rule!
Hollow Shadow Wolf
Wolfie here writes amazingly well and their Misffle stories are very good as well!
Kiara32
Her three Lion King stories are REALLY well written! The OC’s, the plots, the conflicts, the angst, the humor, the tension and the romance just work together so well!
Negaduck
Love this author’s take on the Muppet Show and the Fraggles.
Ninja Sheik
Big Anko/Orochimaru fan that writes really well! Warnings for some smut.
optimus prime 007
She writes SO well! I especially enjoy her Kaceystar stories.
The Saddleman
He’s a big Whouffaldi shipper and I find his writing so entertaining, whether it’s angsty, humorous or sweet.
There you go! I’ll probably update this later, but that’s basically the gist of it. Enjoy. :)
