just full force threw a shoe at my sister's face and when my mum got me alone after she was like 'you shouldn't clobber her. but i get it' 😭

#it kicked off today but in my defence she's actually proper in the wrong this time even my DAD called her a bitch and my mum is FUMING #baso my sister came into my work with her mate when i was closing the other day and all the staff GLARED at them bc of aforementioned #close so i was being v chill so everyone 1) knew it was my sister and not some customer coming in late and 2) her friend wouldnt be uncomfy #like that's the real kicker her i was being extra laid back FOR her friend so he'd feel more at ease. and one thing about me is yes ive #said countless times i have a rural accent but my mum also raised me to know when and how to speak nice if need be bc people are cunts here #so when im waitressing i speak nicely bc it's a stuck up restaurant w stuck up customers but when im with my sister? making a point of #being laid back? my normal accent came through. and her mate when i was gone said i sounded 'really [from the county we live in]'#which WOULD NOT BE A COMPLIMENT. it's baso saying 'your sister sounds local and chavy' without using such explosive words #and my sister LET HIM SAY IT. i dont ship it personally but its fine i have nothing against it. i think its cute that (supposedly. dont ask me for a source but maybe someone else has it) apparently aasim was gonna have embarrassing shit about louis in his journal but it was cut lol. aasim youll always be bi to me in my heart i know its true

i have no reason to split him from ruby tho like theyre fine too so shrugs. the idea of aasim having a crush on louis before clem shows up i can appreciate at least. adds a little Flavor. aasim having an unresolved crush on him i think is a fun addition to their dynamic. definitely see aasim as the sort who would see louis do something goofy or obnoxious and being like "i cant believe i have a crush on you this is so embarrassing for me 😑"

Hi again! I loved the new chapter!! It made me stare at my ceiling existentially for an hour (every chapter does) and we finally get Ara oh god. Im kinda an Ara hater. I’ve always kinda hated her but she was slightly redeemable? Until in itf where we get her POV and she purposefully made Zuko’s life a living hell. That’s when i became a full fledged Ara hater club member. But it still so hard for me to fully hate her cause yk she’s a victim too.

Anyways, she’s a super compelling character and I change my mind every chapter if i hate her or not. So I got bored again and made this . Have a good day!!!

Haha her POV was very much like *hair flip* “yeah I tried to destroy him but it proved to be a lot more difficult than I thought, but I did try.”

She’s really an interesting gal right there with a moral compass that is just constantly spinning in circles. Hopefully she can find some solid ground to stand on and eventually build herself a new life… we’ll see haha.

This whole train derailment thing in East Palestine, Ohio is so horrific.

And those toxic chemicals got into the Ohio River!

And I heard people saying that there was danger that it could possibly get into another body of water?

Apparently, this is going to affect 10% of the country's water supply, as things are? (According to one comment I saw, anyway.)

The place really has become the next Chernobyl, and everything has been handled so badly! (I feel if this had happened in a bigger state, that wouldn't have happened. And I strongly feel they should have evacuated everyone on day one.)

And no one's talking about it! In fact, at first they were covering it up and tried to arrest at least one reporter on the job of reporting the truth (finally more people are starting to discuss all of this, but still not as many as you would think. Especially with the massive ramifications this could have for so many!)

And why hasn't the president or any of the big wigs talked about this or done anything about it? Why didn't people in hazmat suits knock on the people in East Palestine's doors to tell them to evacuate when they finally did give them that order, instead of acting so blasé? You know if it was a place that people actually cared about, people would do so much more. I'm disgusted with my country.

#and it sounds like the whole thing might have happened because the railroad workers had gone on strike because they wanted safer worker #conditions and sick days. something that the president denied them. which in turn led to this tragedy #and also because. like. the railroad lines/tech is really ancient stuff that hasn't been updated since the civil war?#basically. as always. greed won out over safety measures and now we have this to thank for it #i guess people are also worried that acid rain could come from this. from that massive black cloud that's still over east palestine ohio #you know what? i wasn't going to admit this for many reasons. and maybe i still shouldn't. i might come back and delete this tag #but i'm from ohio. not from this city. but guess who still has to worry about all of this now affecting her (like the water not being safe)#and is furious about it and how everything's been handled? this girl #at this point there's a good chance i may die from cancer somewhere down the line from the water i've already ingested (that was #contaminated) since the derailment happened. before they were upfront about just how bad all of this was #and now i'm even MORE mad. in some ways. upon rewatching this one video i had before and realizing i'd gotten some of the context of it #wrong before. like apparently they've let some people come BACK to live in the town if they have nowhere else to go. being like 'carry on.#there's nothing to see here!' when that is NOT okay. when the town is still SO VERY TOXIC and hazardous to their health. and. tbh. the #government should probably be flipping the bill for them to be staying elsewhere for their safety at the moment

The characters are interesting.#I liked the way they just kinda immediately into swapping species and enjoyed their new forms no big deal.#I found the writing a bit boring/simple - and like. lacking atmosphere and worldbuilding.#Like when the two meet their dialogue immediately took me out of it - it was like two people meeting on the street #not two people from entirely different species. I feel like it skips over what could have been some interesting cultural differences #their first interaction is the human being grossed out by seeing a mermaid eating raw fish?#like she’s specifically grossed out by the ‘eating raw fish’ part of it? what did you think they’d eat? also you live in a fantasy seaside #there’s no way you wouldn’t be acquainted with the grossness of fish even if you don’t eat it raw????#I kinda wish it had drawn out just the two of them rather than bringing the prince storyline into it.#He was such a silly villain who I couldn’t really take seriously - and I didn’t understand why she didn’t just run away or attack him?#He didn’t feel like an actual threat.#I read this bc one of the characters is demi-aroace and it was fine I guess if only very briefly referenced. I feel like they got together #though I did appreciate the ‘I’ve never before #but I feel like I could love her one day” when they got together rather than her immediately flipping from nothing to In Love #There was a bit where a side character said to her something along the lines of: ‘oh you CAN love; i just wasn't the right person;#there’s nothing wrong with you after all’. which. I don’t love that actually. kinda uhhhh arophobic

A Liar and a weirdo #but again i think there are definitely far more tommy tallaricos out there particularly in the gaming industry #where crediting has always been..... questionable at best #and especially lately i feel. there has been a huge uptick in plagiarism in indie games and even IF games #and in book publishing. watched a video the other day that was a review of a book that was literally just #fanfic. and was NOT edited enough to remove the blatant plagiarism that comes with trying to publish literal fanfic lol #i mean publishing fanfic has always been a Thing but it definitely feels like it's gotten far more blatant recently #and it feels that people just. don't care? especially again in indie spaces whether gaming or publishing #i mean there's a whole genre of indie horror games that are just 'asset flips'#that are usually made in a rush to profit off another game's success #and there's nothing wrong with using premade assets if you.... Credit them. but these games dont do that lol #and again are usually stealing the storyline of another more popular game #and again. publishing fanfic... liike...... it's questionable and can easily just become plagiarism #anyways. just something to think about i guess ! if nothing else the video is funney #video #personal

i love it when shit happens in my life that dredges up old wounds and coincidentally im re-experiencing the media i intrinsically link it to cause then i get to remember exactly why i love it and find it so meaningful all over again. there's a fucking reason ill always say Berserk [& RGU] both came into my life at a perfect fucking time and holy shit they fucking resonated with me so hard and as much as life can suck ass and lovvves kicking me in the balls when ive just recovered from last time i a least get to remember how & why i love something so much.

#thebirdspeaks #ive been trying to make a coherent post about Berserk and specifically the duality of Casca and Guts as victims post eclipse #because there are issues but also it resonates so well with me regardless #i cant word it pretty but i think its something about Casca and Guts both being victims and responding in opposite ways #and because they are so tightly linked you can almost see them as one victim experiencing the duality of victimhood #as an internal struggle made into two separate people #i flip flop between who i relate to more in relation to my own trauma #and there is plenty to criticize with the writing choices around Casca dont get me wrong #but as much as people criticize her mind breaking and turning into a shell of herself that needs constant help as something entirely negati #i sure as fuck was not given that space and care to be broken #its very nuanced but i think so few people write victims sympathetically that as much as turning into a mess can appear overdone #being cared for and given space and help and being allowed to be a burden is a powerful thing #and i find the expectation to be strong in the face of what you went though is much more common and damaging to me #anyway as many issues as i have i think Casca being allowed to be a victim as much a she was is why i love Berserk so much and while i thin #it could be better if some things were changed #but im not sure if it would have hit as hard and meant as much to me when i was wobbling between mindless rage and want for revenge #and just being broken and tired and weak and scared #reading Guts protect Casca like he did #showed me that that part of me could protect and is better off channeling the mindless rage into protecting whats important to me and what #needs it #letting me demand protection and love and sympathy for my weakest self in my darkest hours #i know im far from objective & my opinions are not universal #but the fact Casca is allowed to be a victim so fully and not just a hashtag girlboss who struggles her way out #well i wouldn't call Guts a girlboss but actually i think that's why it worked.#because between the two they cover the two ends of the common depictions of victimhood: forced to stay strong and allowed to be weak #anyway im about to hit tag limit i love you f you read this far and if you think this is horseshit then please don't say #if you think im right and sexy about it pile the love on meee<3
