Rewatched the post-race piazza scene in Luca recently. Were the fishermen have killed the fish boys without Massimo’s intervention? In hindsight, I think it’s unlikely. The fishermen seem to be fairly hesitant. They advance on Luca and Alberto, harpoons and nets at the ready, but then stop. It looks like they’re weighing how much of a threat these monsters actually pose. True, the fishermen are clearly ready to believe any person who they deem confident and trustworthy. However, apart from Massimo, who at the scene meets these criteria?
This doesn't mean the stakes aren't high, though. Almost certainly, if the fishermen couldn't decide how dangerous Luca and Alberto were, they would have taken the next most logical course of action: to drive them back into the sea. Better be safe than sorry. And that might have been the end of Luca and Alberto’s plans to live on land.

hey friends. unfortunately, the time has come to move luca to my multi.
i was optimistic that i would come back here as i just did a blog refresh here and i was really happy with it, but unfortunately i no longer feel particularly comfortable or safe here / within this fandom. it's through no fault of any of my mutuals, but it is unfortunately beyond my control and i just feel feel more comfortable moving him to my multi as i've now made it private.
there is a possibility that i might bring him back over here in a little bit, but right now i just need to protect my peace and hopefully i will achieve that by moving him.
you're more than welcome to follow me over there, especially if we had threads with luca, but also please don't feel obligated. there's no hard feelings here, i'm just going to do what's right for me, and right now that's keeping everything to one blog. if you do follow me over, and we did have threads, i will continue those as i love everything i have going over here.
just a note before i go: please treat your fellow rpers with kindness and respect, and in a way you would be happy to be treated yourself. sending everyone love and good vibes for their day 🧡🧡

i need a fic or something where steve tells eddie "hey you were a dick in high school too. jumping on tables and screaming at people who just want to eat their lunch about their conformism to the man or whatever was annoying as fuck. also why did lucas have to choose between a sport and your nerd game that's normal. people are multidimensional. I'm not alone in this, who wasn't a total dick at 16. where is your redemption arc mister."

"All these years Ben has been waiting for Luke to come of age so that he can become a Jedi and redeem his father."
"The part I am working on now is mostly about Darth Vader, who he is, where he came from, how he became Luke and Leia's father, what his relationship to Ben is. In Jedi the film is really about the redemption of this fallen angel. Ben is the fitting good angel, and Vader is the bad angel who started off good. All these years Ben has been waiting for Luke to come of age so that he can become a Jedi and redeem his father. That's what Ben has been doing, but you don't know this in the first film." - George Lucas in Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays
“A Jedi can’t kill for the sake of killing. The mission isn’t for Luke to go out and kill his father and get rid of him. The issue is, if he confronts his father again, he may, in defending himself, have to kill him, because his father will try to kill him.” - George Lucas, 1981 story conference, from The Making of Return of the Jedi
"[Obi-Wan] knows that, eventually, Darth Vader is going to come looking for them. He knows this whole thing is going to blow up into a big war. He knows a confrontation is brewing between Luke and his father. Ben hopes Luke will either save his father or kill him, because whatever extra powers Luke’s got in his lineage, he is the one person that can probably fight his father and win." - George Lucas to Paul Duncan in Star Wars Archives
