Your love for Jules was something you find in fairy tales. It was beautiful, and both of you felt connected on a level deeper than anything imaginable.

It started when you were both merely kids. You were six, and he was eight. The two of you had met at the wedding of a mutual friend. Dressed in nice clothing, he'd marched right up to you and claimed to be a knight looking for a princess.

You were inseparable after that. It was like you'd found your soulmate.

When you turned eighteen, Jules had immediately proposed. And when you countered by asking if you were both too young, he said, 'Why waste time when I know I'll love you forever?'"

You'd gotten close with Leclerc family. Specifically with Charles since Jules was named godfather. He spent a great deal of time with you and Jules.

Then 2014. Everyone was sure Jules was going to get a seat with Ferrari. It would be a crime if he didn't.

You remember kissing him, good luck. The last feeling of his lips on your before getting in the car.

You remember telling him to be safe with the rain; that you love him dearly. He replied with his signature wink and an 'I love you more and I always am.'

Then everything stopped. The world seemed to no longer spin. Time refused to move forward as you willed it to go back.

It couldn't be real. There was no way it had happened. You still thought that as you sat at his bedside faithfully for months. There wasn't a world you wanted to live in if it didn't have Jules.

Charles was similarly devastated. He'd lost someone dear to him. The boy spent all his free time sitting with you in the hospital. Even bringing around food that Pascale had made to keep you alive. Something you didn't want to be at that moment.

The bond you'd formed with Charles during this time is hard to explain. There is nothing romantic. He's family despite the age gap not being that large.

He was, and is still, family. You'd promised to still take care of him despite the loss of Jules, and he promised to do the same in his stead.

The start of the 2024bseason brings on an interesting turn of events. Charles had split with his girlfriend before the new year and is now with his new girlfriend Alex.

You like her. She's very sweet as far as you've been told. But there is something there that makes you worry. You just blame the fact that you want the best for Charles.

The first time you met her was at a family dinner. Charles brought Alex with him to introduce her to everyone.

You were actually the first person he introduced her to. You felt honored, but there was something behind her eyes that you couldn't quite pinpoint. But you kept it to yourself and made friendly conversation.

The next time you saw her was when she dropped by the Leclerc family home unannounced. The position she caught you in wasn't a bad one, but it probably didn't look good to her.

Charles had a rough race in Monaco, as per usual, and was laying with his head in your lap while you ran fingers through his hair. It's the same thing Jules had done when Charles was a child after a bad Karting race.

Alex definitely didn't look pleased with you. But she managed to put kn a smile and say hello.

It was awkward. Especially after Charles and her went into another room because you could hear them talking in hushed whispers.

Your fingers find the chain with your wedding ring on it. Your lips press against the cold metal as you hold the ring to your mouth. "I hope I'm doing this right, Jules. It's hard without you here."

The last time you saw Alex was at a birthday party. Your birthday party. Something you don't like having after Jules because he was the one who always made the day special.

Charles is a stubborn man though and decided it was necessary. Partly because this is his way of remembering that you are alive and with them, but it also gives him and excuse to drink and dance.

It wasn't anything massive. Or at least - not a massive as it could have been. There were a good number of people crowded into your Monaco home. The food is good, and the music is better. It definitely felt like a party Jules would have dragged you to in your youth.

It's not long until Charles appears at the door with Alex in tow. He comes to you, and you embrace him as usual. The smile on his face makes everything worth it. despite having to deal with a party for a few hours.

Pierre also finds you and starts up conversation. The three of you fail to notice the fourth becoming increasingly agitated.

A loud crashing sound pulls all of their attention. Alex flipped over the table in her agitation and is now sending chills down your spine with the look on her face.

"Why are you so determined to be some kind of homewrecker! Why can't you just stop being a creep to Charles and let us live in peace!" She screams. It hits your mind like a shadow. The world fades away, and your thoughts are filled with the doubts you have daily.

Tears fill your eyes, and your body goes rigid. "I'm Charles' godmother. Y/N Bianchi. I am no homewrecker." You choke.

Charles and Pierre take a protective step in front of you. "Get out!" Charles' voice drips with venom. Alex looks stunned. She doesn't move even as Charles shouts at her. "Nobody gets to speak like that to my family! Get out!"

Then she runs. Avoiding the gazes of disapproval.

Charles spins around and places his hands on your shoulders. His eyes scanning your face to assess the damage.

"I'm so sorry that happened. You're amazing. Always have been. And anyone who says differently is a fucking asshole."

Even through the tears, she smiles. Jules couldn't have left her in better hands.

These four, really depend on how much they like you. Like a romantic relationship will get a different reaction than a platonic or negative one with these guys. Shane understands the most out of the four on sometimes needing things to feel comfortable and safe. He knows. So he's not really judgmental about you needing a plush. He is however a person that would get jealous of your plush if you're in a romantic relationship, like he wants to be the thing(person) that you go to to feel comfort. He wants to be what you need to sleep or feel safe. He won't say any of this though, because he knows that it's irrational and something he could work on. In a friendship or disliked kind of relationship he won't judge but he won't be nice or careful about it at all and might hurt your feelings even if he's not trying to. Leah does not really care at all either way. Like okay? Your plushies are yours and have nothing to do with her. If you are in a romantic relationship she cares a little bit more. She'll take care to not be carless with your plushies. Like she won't throw it around or kick it out of the way. She would be nicer about it, but her overall attitude would be she doesn't really care. It's not positive or negative she doesn't judge it's just a little quirk. Haley would absolutely be different based on how she feels for you. In a romantic sense she would be super careful about how she talks about your plush. She doesn't understand at all. She probably thinks it's childish but she won't say anything about. If she's friend with you she is a lot less careful. She might make jokes or comments that will hurt your feelings but would apologize depending on how hurt you are. If she dislikes you you are being made fun of. Especially if it's in front of other people. She absolutely is judging you and will make it obvious, not a good time. Alex is similar to Haley in that he does not understand at all, but it depends on what point in life he is in how he will react. In high school he will be more teasing if he likes you, saying things like "where's our child" or something. If he dislikes you he will make fun of you with his gridball friends it's a stereotypical high school experience. In adulthood I feel like he calms down. He's not going to make fun or anything but he will probably comment and maybe hurt your feelings either way. An apology will only come of he likes you.

Things were finally winding down, it was already way too late into the night to continue being awake if you all wanted to be able to get up in the morning. Everyone was already almost ready to sleep, yet you still stood next to your bag, hoping they would at least lie down quickly. It's not that you were embarrassed, you just really didn't feel like dealing with their reactions, especially tired. Shane was already lying down, eyes closed but not sleeping. With everyone distracted you quickly bring out your plush, pressing it against your chest as you move towards your sleeping spot. Someone sees you before you can lay down.

Shane would say something like "do you even wash that thing?" Then continue trying to sleep. If you're upset he would make it clear that he is joking.

Elliott wouldn't really react he would probably side eye and continue his bedtime routine. It's none of his buisness.

Marble Hornets headcanons !!

but 1/4 of this stuff are just habits i have.

this is due to the fact these characters are literally me.

Jay:

-If a fast food employee gets his order wrong, he’ll do everything in his power to make sure it’s not fixed. Not because he doesn’t care. He just hates having to bother minimum wage workers.

-When he was young he used to cough obnoxiously whilst walking past smokers to make them feel bad. He did this a handful of times with Tim in a couple hotel rooms. But Tim didn’t notice. Or ignored him. Jay never knew which.

-He bumps into EVERYTHING. No spacial awareness at all.

-He has quite few jackets in his closet. Most of them are the exact same because he found one he really liked then just bought like five. neurodivergent boy say what!??!!1!1!

-If you give him pointers or constructive criticism he’ll take them way too personally and feel like he did something wrong. Like really wrong. It’s really not a big deal. To him it is.

-Isn’t superstitious at all. That being said, that one lucky charm he got from an old friend always seems to find itself in his pocket.

-Very sentimental.

Tim:

-Definitely had to be a “he ordered no pickles” kind of guy when he and Jay were out sharing hotel rooms.

-Avoid confrontation at all cost. Unless it’s completely necessary, he just won’t do it. Someone could cuss him out and he’d just stand there wondering how to get out of the situation.

-Honestly… love you Tim, but I imagine his personality to be pretty stale. He never had real good social interaction until Brian came along, meaning not until college. He finds it hard to get past small talk with people he’s recently met.

-If you take him to a Starbucks or something and ask him what he wants he’ll say “uhh.. coffee??”

-Says his favorite band is something like Metallica or Green Day. And don’t get him wrong, he likes those. But he’ll die for The Smiths.

-Never cared about style. Ever. Did you see what he had on in entry #9??

-Still loves his mom. He places some blame on her of course, but he could never bring himself to hate his mother. He knows he was and still is messed up mentally. She handled it best she knew how.

-Uses reading glasses whenever he’s trying to read something on his flip phone. That was until iPhones came out and he got rid of his old phone.

Alex:

-Everybody knows that during Marble Hornets man couldn’t for the life of him chill. He was always angry. But that’s definitely the influence of The Operator. He was actually a really sweet and funny guy pre-MH. Yes, he had his angry moments, but who doesn’t??

-Unless you’re using the most sarcastic tone ever, he can’t understand it. But he’s extremely sarcastic himself. Of course he always tries to make it very clear.

-THICK LENSES. Like bro. Took his parents until he was about five and bumping into absolutely everything to go get his eyes checked.

-Living standing emoji. He didn’t discover putting his hands in his pockets until after he dropped Marble Hornets.

-Watches fiction movies then criticizes the parts that aren’t realistic.

-“Why would you pull that piece of glass out of your leg?? Keep it in until you can see a doctor!” “Alex we’re watching a movie about an alien invasion.”

-Did I mention he speaks to the characters on screen like they’re actually there?

-Denies he’s the dad of the group (he is).

Brian:

-The silly. But we already knew that.

-Extremely social. Extrovert to the max. Doesn’t love parties, but he’ll go to just about any other social event.

-He doesn’t have any idea what personal space is. He’ll hug, pat your back, or just give you small bits of affection every three seconds. Unless someone asks him to stop, of course. It’s just his go-to.

-Actually, Brian’s openness to physical affection is the main reason Tim became good friends with him. He didn’t get a lot of love when he was a child, so it’s something he’s come to crave. And Brian welcomes it with open arms, literally!!

-Loves (most) bitter food. He’ll defend dark chocolate with his life. But he can’t handle black coffee.

-He bit his nails for years on end. When he learned how insanely unsanitary it is, he stopped immediately. Now he just picks at them.

-He’s never not had a dog. Except for that one time he had a ferret.

-Feeds the alley cats. He just loves animals so much. That’s why his parents thought he was gonna be a veterinarian when he grew up.

Jay - Gay, though that’s basically canon. Aroace but he’s not repulsed by relationships by any means. Romantic or sexual. He’s had his fair share of boyfriends and girlfriends before he found out he dislikes titties. He/him.

Tim - Doesn’t really bother with labels. He knows he likes girls as well as guys, so he just tells everybody he’s queer. He also doesn’t exactly announce this to anybody but his close friends, but he’s demisexual + romantic. He/him but he won’t correct you if you use anything else.

Alex - Born a girl. He was a girl for years because that’s just what everybody called him. Then he watched SheZow when he was like seven and went “whoa… people can change genders??” Years down the line and a bunch of long conversations with close friends lead him to identify as a boy when he was a junior in high school. Of course he got bullied relentlessly for it, so he didn’t actually transitioning until after school. I mean, literally. After the last day of senior year he picked up testosterone for the first time ever. He/they.

Brian - To me, he’s definitely pansexual. He doesn’t care about the parts. Personality is the one thing that matters to him. When he first got into college, he learned what non-binary means and he experimented with a couple different gender labels. But he settled on being demiboy. Any pronouns.

You know very well what he was thinking. Strict demeanor, cold glare, and disinterested voice, criticizing not only your teamwork but also your choice of outfit.

He is the most hated scientist in the entire facility. The monster. A living Frankenstein. Though his face is extremely attractive to a scientist, he is still an asshole in the laboratory.

You always hope that Spencer transfers him to another facility so you can spend your lab days with William or Alex. He is so different from William Birkin.

In almost everything, they're so different. It feels like the two are like the moon and Venus.

William's supportive presence, soft-spoken voice, and eyes that always gleam when he talks to you give you a warm feeling in your heart. It seems like he is pouring something sweet yet intoxicating into your heart. It's cute, isn't it?

You only need two days to become close to him. To know his red and blue, to learn his cold and warm sides, to touch his divinity and comedy.

Ever since that day when he helped with your project and defended you from Albert, something has blossomed inside your heart. It's a cute feeling—too much warmth—and Alex says it might be love weaving through your heart.

You tried to get closer to him. You did. Like checking his mental health. Always. Reminding him to take his vitamins and driving when he's too tired to walk.

Now you're resting in bed with a fever and an eerie sense in your throat. You feel so useless right now.

This happens after being overworked and forcing yourself to stay with him. Standing behind his back and lending your hand to share your warmth with him, you add another chapter of your love to his heart.

William, on the other hand, hasn't slept in three days. But, strangely, he appears normal and healthy. Meanwhile, your own body is screaming and needs rest; as a result, you have a fever.

You fantasize about him caring for you, coming to your apartment, taking care of you, and supporting you as you supported him.

But when you think about it again, it won't happen so easily. After all, that man was consumed by his science project, and he had no time to cherish his coworker. You.

If only he had thrown his ego away for a day. If only he had noticed your condition right now. If only he had the same feelings as you.

Maybe...

The door buzzer rings, breaking your thoughts back to reality. You turned your head at the door, still feeling dizzy from your fever and lacking the energy to walk and check.

You felt compelled to glance up at the door and yell at the person behind it, or just ignore them and go back to sleep.

But... something was off when a familiar voice yelled at your name and called your name relentlessly.

Could it be?

You walked to the door, hoping it was William and not just a fever-induced illusion.

As the door swings open, there stands William with a huge plastic bag in hand. His body is covered with a lab coat. You assume that he might be sneaking from the lab just to meet you. To see your face.

His blue eyes fixate on you, scanning your face carefully as if he is trying to study you.

A hint of confusion draws across his face as he gazes at your presence, adding unexpected feelings to your heart.

"Hey," he uttered softly, gazing at you softly as he bit his lips. He was trying to find the right words to describe his feelings.

"Albert says you have a fever. He was mad, you know. Why do you keep it secret and only tell Albert about your health?"

"Oh, because I..."

"No, we're partners, aren't we?" He added, locking his blue eyes to yours, though his mind struggled to find the right words. He was trying so hard to understand the situation.

Then he continued. "...and you can't do this to me. I know you are always concerned about me. Why are you not telling me if you need me?"

You held back. That dizziness and heavy feeling in your head hurt you, and William's remarks only made it worse.

Honestly, you thanked Albert because William was led to believe in Albert's cold-hearted nature. However, why is William here? Was he coerced by Albert to meet you?

"Why are you here, William?"

He released a heavy sigh. Frustrating danced in his mind. "Of course, I'll look after you. I'll take care of you till you're well!"

"But, what about your science project?"

"Listen. I can work on another project with my team. I don't care if I lose it because I can make another masterpiece with my team. However, you. All I have is you. I won't be able to have you back if I lose you."

"So please take this medicine in this plastic bag and allow me to be your doctor. Of course, I'll treat you gently."

Your Sweets and Daniel make my feelings all mushy. Like they’re the cutest.

What’s was the other drivers’ reactions to them dating?

I know they don’t wanna care but at the same time I feel like Sweets could feel a bit more worried maybe, especially after maybe PR trying to tell Daniel that people are questioning character or something. But we know Daniel for the wiiin he would never allow Sweets to try and push him away…at least I don’t think? I’m not entirely sure how you plan on writing them 🖤

I had to do so much thinking about this ask and I apologize for such a long wait.

So from the first part, where Sweets and Daniel reveal that they're together, we already know (or i already know) that a few drivers have known that they are together. (Putting the rest under read more)

The drivers that found out before the reveal are: Max, Charles, Lando, Sebastian, and Lance.

Lance finds out from Scotty and his sister. More so Scotty, because he couldn't shut his mouth about how his sister in law was going to be a singer. Lance doesn't have much of a reaction, a little how the fuck did you manage that? But is whatever.

Sebastian is the first driver Daniel tells. Daniel had been in a serious relationship or two before this, but nothing like what him and Sweets have, which is forever. So he goes to the one guy he knows understands what forever is in a relationship. Sebastian doesn't mind the relationship (is a little flattered that Daniel came to him about it), but does hope that they both know what they're doing.

Lando, Max and Charles, find out about them around the four month mark.

Lando is a bit jealous, he's got a bit of a sharing problem, but he also never says it outloud but he thinks the two are crazy for how serious they're treating the relationship.

Charles loves it, and he's happy that Daniel trusts him with this, considering they had some rocky moments. He also is the first driver to become friends with Sweets and is the only one to view himself as more of her friend than Daniel's by the time they reveal their relationship to everyone else.

Max is wary. He's seen Daniel in a few relationships. Seen the way Daniel has loved but never really put everything into it and Max doesn't know how to feel/think with how Daniel is putting his all into this one. After meeting Sweets though (and Max refuses to think about their first meeting more than he ever has too), Max realizes why Daniel has put is all into this relationship and likes Sweets, thinks she's a good fit for Daniel.

Okay, now onto to drivers who found out when everyone else did by reaction.

Thought it was cool/great: Mick, Pierre, George, Yuki, Nico, Fernando, Alex, Logan

Didn't care (aka no reaction): Kevin, Carlos, Nyck, Zhou, Valtteri, Checo, Oscar

Judgement: Esteban, Lewis

Sidenote: Logan and Sweets in this vaguely know each other, so Logan was stoked when he found out.

Now about Esteban and Lewis, because I don't want to get flamed. Esteban is judging her heavily here, because he once tried hitting on her at a party (she has no recollection of this) and she just stonewalled him.

Lewis is judging both of them, but he also judges all of the drivers and their girlfriends. He is still in his hoe era and thinks that getting into a serious relationship while still being on the grid is a bit stupid and will backfire on you. He was a bit whatever about it until finding out that they got together while Daniel was at McLaren, and then the judgement came in. He also is the only one that has a problem with age difference, he'll never say anything, but he's a firm believer that age differences like that are meant for one night stands/situationships, not an actual relationship.

You also mentioned PR and let me tell you, her PR not so happy, not because of the relationship itself, but more because they act like teenagers who aren't in the spotlight when they are one not teenagers and two very much in the spotlight.

Red Bull on the other hand fucking loves it. People having an issue with an age difference means nothing to them (ie: max and kelly) also dealing with Sweets and Daniels online antics is easier than the occasional shitstorm certain people cause for them.

“So what the doctor say?” Harry asks as I place my bag down on the island in our kitchen. Cookie runs over to me and I pick her up cuddling her

“I’ve been put on Sertraline, it’s an antidepressant. He said I might have a few side effects from it like feeling sick so I’ve also been given antisickness tablets as well” I sigh walking into the living room. Since loosing Alex I’ve felt extremely low, and panicky whenever I’m in a car. Louis rang an ambulance a few days ago because I had a huge panic attack “he also suggested I talk to someone about what happened”

“Like a therapist?” Harry asks sitting next to me

“Yeah” I nod my head and sit down with Cookie on my lap “I’m dreading telling management”

“It’s nothing to do with them. It’s your business and no one else’s” Louis says

“It’ll be bad publicity if it comes out that a one direction singer has panic attacks. What if I end up having one on stage?” I asks nervously

“Then we will be all there to help” Louis replies

“Yeah. We can get you off stage and help you. Everything’s going to be alright. Come’ere” Harry pulls me into his arms and hugs me

“How about we watch a film? I bought popcorn yesterday”

“What kind?” I ask lifting my head up a little

“Sweet and salty” I give Louis a small smile and let him walk into the kitchen to make the popcorn.

“Where is she?” I hear Zayn ask walking through the hallway of my shared place with Louis and Harry

“In bed. The antisickness hasn’t helped all that much” Louis responds. There’s a knock on the door and in walks my best friends

“Hey how do you feel?” Liam asks

“Like shit. Got a headache, tired and feel so sick it’s unbelievable. Not eaten in 2 days”

“How long will the side effects last for?” Niall asks. I give him a little shrug

“Between a week and 3 weeks”

“Do you think you’ll be ok to come to the Brit awards?”

“I hope so” I reply to Zayn. The front door opened then shuts. Cookie then runs into my room and jumps onto the bed and snuggles into me. Smiling I stroke her fur “did you have a good walk with Harry?” Not expecting a response off my dog I look up to the door where Harry stands

“She was a good girl like always. Although Mr Henderson is missing you” Harry mentions the elderly man we see most days on our walk. I giggle a little looking back at cookie “he asked me to give you these get well soon cupcakes” Harry places some cakes on my bedside table

“Ooo got an admire YN?” Liam wiggles his eyebrows making me laugh more

“I might have to start taking Cookie out if it gets me cupcakes” Niall says sitting on the end of my bed

“So what’s the plan for today?” Liam asks also sitting on my bed. Harry picks up my remote control for my TV and turns it on

2 days until the Brit awards and I still feel ill, thankfully not as bad as when I started on Sertraline. Now I’m just exhausted no matter how much I sleep and my head feels like a hammer is constantly being hit inside my skull. My nausea has mostly gone except if I take my tablet before food. I’m currently in my dress fitting for the award show. It’s a strapless white dress with blue flower pints on it which will be pared with nude heals

“What do you think?” Charlotte my stylist says

“I love it thank you so much Char”

“Your very welcome”

“Knock knock” I hear my dad say before opening my bedroom door with his hand over his eyes

“I’m dressed it’s fine” he takes his hand away from his eyes and looks at me in a state of shock “what? Don’t you like it?”

“That’s not it. It’s just you look so much like your mum. She’d be so proud of you”

“Thanks dad”

“You feel up to the awards show, because if not the boys will understand”

“No I’m fine don’t worry”

“I do worry, I’m your dad that’s my job”

“The doctors gave me some new antisickness tablets. They’re stronger and they’ve been working. I’ll just take some paracetamol and Emma said she will come collect me after the awards show and bring me home while the boys go out”

"Nik, I'm back home!!!", Alex, his girlfriend announced in the evening as she entered the apartment which she was sharing with her boyfriend, Nik Ryder. Nik was delighted to see her.

He moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her to greet her.

"I hope you had a good day, rook. I've been thinking of you all day."

"Really? I'm just tired."

"No wonder you must be tired, you've been running through my mind all day. Do you want to lie down and relax? Or would you like me to make you some tea?", he chuckled.

"No, I'm fine.", she whispered without meeting his eyes.

"Everything all right? Did something happen?"

"No, nothing."

"Come on now, don't lie to me, rook. I know when something's not right. Tell me.", he requested while trying to make eye contact with her.

"Nik, we don't spend much time together anymore which is sad."

"I know, baby, but you've got to understand that both of us have big responsibilities at work. While I protect the city at night, you're handling Lamrian at day. But don't you worry, that's gonna change someday and we'll have all the time we want again like before.", he wasn't sure but still tried to assure his girlfriend.

"Thanks, I hope so too."

Nik kissed her again, more passionately, and caressed her cheek before answering.

"I love you, Alex.", he whispered. While holding her by the hand, he walked inside the living room with his girl, hugging her from time to time.

"Hey rook, are you hungry? I made pasta for dinner."

"Yummy, pasta!!!"

He smiled widely at her cute reaction.

"I know you love pasta. Wait here, let me go prepare everything."

After some time preparing dinner and setting the table, both were seated at the table. Nik served her some pasta, then he served himself. Both silently ate until she spoke.

"You know what day tomorrow will be?", she asked.

"Tomorrow's Friday. Why are you asking?"

"I know it's Friday, but it's a special day."

"What day are you referring to, baby?", he asked her while looking a little puzzleed.

"Think!!"

After a moment of silence, he realized what she was referring to and he smiled gently.

"Of course, tomorrow is your birthday!! You're turning 26. I can't believe it's already been one whole year, rook."

"You remembered my birthday!!"

"Of course, I remembered!! But thanks for reminding me again, I was thinking about it this morning and the past few days. Can't believe it just slipped so easily out of my mind. So yeah, I haven't forgotten your birthday, babe. I love you and it is a special day for you!! I have something prepared for tomorrow, just wait and see, Alex."

"But you still forgot something. Nik, tomorrow isn't only my birthday, but also our very first anniversary. I met you one year ago for the very first time. We may not have been dating at that time then, but don't you think we should celebrate that too?"

"Damn, I forgot about that?! Now, I feel terrible for forgetting the date of our celebration. Sorry, forgive me. I'll make it up to you, I swear. Tomorrow there will be two parties in one!!", he laughed a little, but still felt terrible about forgetting their very first and special day.

Alex was now silent and continued finishing her pasta. But there was something about her silence that bothered him. The past few days were rough for him and decided to confess something.

"Rook, I'm really happy with you and I feel really lucky. I'm not great at math, but we're a perfect match. You're my soulmate. But we haven't been spending so much time together anymore and it's starting to worry me too. I hope you didn't think that I wouldn't notice, but you always looked so busy and tired and there are times when, to be honest, it feels like... like... I'm a bother. Am I imagining this, or do you...?", Nik looked very upset while confessing.

"Oh Nik, you're never a bother. I love you. You're my heart, my soul, my everything."

"Are you serious, rook?"

"Yes, baby."

He sighed in relief before answering back.

"Damn, I was starting to overthink things. It's just that when I see you tired and overworked... I just wanted to make sure you didn't feel pressured by me. Because if that was the case, my love, it would break my heart."

"Oh, I'm so sorry you thought like this. It's not because of you. I'm soooo sorry to make you feel that way. Please forgive me."

"There's nothing to forgive, my love. You mean a lot to me and I'm sorry if I've been annoying to you. You know that you're important to me, I just wanted to clarify that with you. But now everything's fine, you don't have to worry anymore. Now let's just focus on having a great anniversary tomorrow... Okay?", he gently whispered in her ear while caressing her cheek.

"You're not annoying, Nik."

"Thank you, babe. I love you, Alex.", he confessed then planted a quick but gentle kiss on her cheek.

"So, are we good now?"

"Of course, we're good now, my love. There's nothing more in the world I want than to see you smile."

He smiled, took her hand and pulled her gently to his chest.

"No, you're the best, my dear. You're beautiful inside and out. I'm so lucky to have you in my life. I love you so much."

He pulled her even closer to his chest and kissed her hair.

"I'll make sure you have the best day tomorrow."

I feel so lucky with you, Nik.", she confessed which made him smile even more while he caressed her cheek.

"I can say the same for you, Alex, but it's not a thing of luck, it's meant to be. As I said, you are my soulmate, my dream woman, my partner and the love of my life. You're the reason why I get up every day with so much motivation to face the world. Don't ever forget how much you mean to me, okay?", he pulled her to him again and kissed the top of her head, very lovingly. Then he spoke again.

"It's getting late, tomorrow we have a big day, and we need to get some rest. What do you say?"

"I agree! I can't wait for tomorrow."

He let her go and both headed toward their bedroom to sleep. Nik was very excited, he had prepared a surprise party for her. Will he be able to sleep tonight at all with his excitement? Both were looking forward happily for the next day.

Nik just put the final touches on everything. His planned surprise for his girlfriend must go perfectly. He requested her to come earlier today from Lamrian so they could celebrate together. A knock on the door made his heart beat faster. He ran to the door and opened it, revealing the love of her life who looked more beautiful than ever. A big smile appeared on her face. He was stunned by her beauty. Speechless he couldn't take his eyes off her. Both stepped closer to each other with a tender look in their eyes. While Nik Ryder was wearing a suit, Alex wore an elegant dress with matching high heels.

"Nik...", she suddenly stumbled as she entered, but Nik quickly grabbed her to prevent her from falling.

"Are you all right, darling?", he anxiously asked.

"Yes. Hello, Nik!!", she smiled.

"You look amazing, I like that outfit on you. I can't believe you decided to wear the maroon-colored dress with the golden body chain that I once bought for you. My Maroon Majesty."

"Of course. Thanks!! Nik, you have great taste and I love this dress. By the way, you look very handsome, Nik.", she sweetly giggled.

"Ah thanks, I know I am. But I'm a bit nervous, I want to make this day perfect for you. The truth is that I was dying to see you. Hope you like what I've planned, my rook."

Then Nik leaned forward and kissed her. He caressed her cheeks and pulled her even closer to him. His eyes met hers while whispering in a low tone in the ear.

"I've been waiting all day for this moment. You must be tired because you've been running through my mind all day.", he chuckled then.

"I'm glad to hear it, that makes me happy.", she giggled then too.

Like a true gentleman, the boyfriend helped his girlfriend take off her coat and took her hand to go sit down.

"Please, come on, let's have a wonderful dinner."

Taking her hand in his, they walked to the dining table. Nik seated her by pulling her chair, then he sat down on another chair in front of her. The candles illuminated him and made him look even more handsome. There was a romantic atmosphere and as the two of them gazed at each other, he squeezed her hand tenderly.

The young man hesitated before he continued.

"I know we've been dating for a year now and we've been doing great but... I wanted to tell you something that's been in my head for quite a while and I can't keep it secret..."

"What? What it is?", she suddenly became surprised about the sudden turn. She worried, held her breath and waited for him to continue. He looked very serious at her.

"The truth is that I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, and I want to know what you think about the idea... I want to know what you think, do you think you'd ever want to marry me?"

"What??!!! But you never wanted to marry, Nik."

"Look dear, I know I told you from the beginning that I wasn't interested in marriage. It's true, but with time some things have changed. I'm surprised by myself too, but... When you find the right person, you change, and in my case... I've found you.", he confessed, gently took her hand and kissed it sweetly which made Alex's heart almost melt.

"Oh, Nik... Am I dreaming or are you saying this?"

"Well, you pushed the wall with the bricks I've built. You just couldn't stay on your goddamn side cuz you're are too stubborn, dear. So I want to marry you someday. Not now, but someday. I want you to be mine and only mine. I get jealous when other people try to flirt or even try to impress you. I want you to be mine only and I only your's. I want you to be my wife one day. But... Not now."

"And what about children?", she teased.

"Uhhh, well. I... Alex, I... I thought..."

"Nik, don't worry. I was just teasing. You've made me already so happy with the marriage confession, dear. Thanks for making this day even more special than before. That's great news and I will patiently wait for the day or night when you will finally propose to me because now I have hope."

"Unless I change my mind."

"No!!! Don't you dare, future husband!!", she warned him which made him laugh.

But let's go ahead and eat.", he suggested, serving her meal first, then himself. Both started eating, looking at you with a satisfied smile and with eyes full of love.

After dinner, it was time for a sweet dessert.

Nik took her hand and led her to a big table decorated with a romantic cake, candles and flowers surrounding it. He gently cut a piece and fed her.

"Mmmhhh, yummy. I feel like I'm in heaven. So creamy.

"Glad you like it."

"Nik, sid Cal help you with the cake?", she raised her eyebrow while staring at him.

"How... How did you know? I mean, I... Yes... Yes, you caught me, rook. Wolf guy helped me with the cake, but I swear I did the rest all by myself.", he panicked which made her just giggle.

"Well, Cal gave a lot of treats so my pretty brain immediately sensed that it was one of his excellent creations. Mmmmh, the buttercream.", she swooned a little.

"Yeah, Cal is great at baking and all. I get it, I get it. Now let's just focus on both of us, okay.", he rolled his eyes. He just wanted to turn their day into something special and only about them.  But Nik was still thankful for Cal's help. He definitely wouldn't have arranged a cake on such short notice since he was already busy with other preparations. Maybe next time he'll order earlier, directly from a cake shop.

After each ate a piece of cake, it was time for the next surprise.

Nik led Alex into their bedroom which was beautifully decorated. She was stunned by the view. It's a room with their bed covered by a romantic canopy and many candles around it. The ceiling had red heart-shaped balloons attached to it and there were red roses spread everywhere. He pulled her into his arms and watched her with tenderness.

"Just for you dear, I have prepared everything.", he whispered and planted a quick kiss on her cheek.

"Nik, this is so romantic. Roses are my favorite flowers. And rose petals on the bed? Wow, so gorgeous!!! Thank you, my sweetheart!!!!"

"Now, shall we spend a little time here alone, my love? After dessert, we could burn some calories together on bed.", he winked.

"I love your playful side, my love."

He took her by the hand and led her towards their double bed. Gently pushing her playfully back, he let her sit on the bed.

"Oh, before I forget... I bought a gift for you."

He opened a gift box for her, revealing a beautifully, bejeweled necklace.

"This is for you, honey. I hope you like it."

"Eeeek, this is so pretty!!! So sparkly!! Thanks, but it looks too expensive."

"Expensive? For the future Duchess of Lamrian?? Hey, you have to accept. I bought it for you only. Don't look at the price but at my love."

"But Nik, I..."

"Rook, please."

"Nik..."

"Look, the price was nothing for me. Remember the six figures I got from protecting you? The million dollars? It was only because of you, that's why I decided to spend them all on you and your happiness. They're yours. It's our money, baby. You're worth it."

"I see, but still."

"Seriously? You know, you're the most stubborn person I have ever met.", he was about to lose his patience.

"Okay, okay, I accept. Sorry, I was just... It's so pretty. So sweet of you, Nik. I suggest that we should invest or save the money for our future. But for now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Nik. Thanks, but I sadly have no gift for you right now."

Nik shook his head as he caressed her neck and pulled her close.

"You don't need to give me a gift, because seeing you happy and beeimg with me is my best gift. But just so you know, I'm not done yet with the surprises. You know, I may be a terrible dancer, but I've got great moves in bed.", he winked.

"Oh..."

Later, after a passionate moment in their bedroom, it was time for the last surprise. He lead her outside. Tonight was a beautiful night, the moonlight created the perfect atmosphere for some romance.

He looked her straight in the eyes, holding her hand.

"We're going to a special place, so you gotta close your eyes for a sec?"

Nik waited for her reaction with anticipation, hoping she would trust him and agree to close her eyes. He couldn't contain his happiness and satisfaction by getting her to agree to close the eyes. With closed eyes, she waited for the next step.

"Okay, great! Now hold my hand and just keep walking, keep your eyes closed but don't open them at all until I tell you okay? And most importantly since I know you very well... Don't even peak!!"

"Okay, fine. I won't open my eyes till you allow me, I promise."

He led her a little further and she could feel a gentle breeze on her face. After a few minutes, he suddenly stopped. The sound of birds and a stream of water running were to hear. Alex waited a few seconds, Nik caressed her cheek a little and after a while, he finally told her to open her eyes. A romantic and very beautiful spot in the middle of the forest. A quiet place, with a waterfall running over the stones and making a sound that gave an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. The moonlight illuminated the water and reflected its light. Colorful wildflowers everywhere. The entire place was filled with flowers. The aroma in the air was divine. A very romantic atmosphere perfect for two loving people. On the fresh grass, Alex discovered a blanket.

"We're in the bayou, Nik. Your favorite place on this planet and where we shared our first kiss.", she recognized.

He leaned forward, kissed her softly on the lips, and then whispered.

"That's right, rook. Where we both kissed for the first time. Happy Birthday to you and a very Happy Anniversary to us."

Later, Alex decided to give her boyfriend a gift too since he worked so hard to make her happy and their day memorable. A little gift for her beloved Nik. Sadly she hadn't bought anything for him and shops were already closed, so she decided to quickly slip into their bedroom and then return to him. Nik was patiently waiting for her in the bayou, not aware of her plan. She finally returned to him with her loyal violin in her hand.

"Should I play for you?"

It caught him by surprise at how unexpected it was. Then he glanced at her face, a look that let her understand how much he liked the idea.

"Yeah, I would love to hear you play."

Nik sat Alex on a large rock near the small river and leaned on the rock himself next to her, with curiosity and expectation in his eyes. He watched her with tender affection, waiting.

The way Alex played her instrument touched a deep cord in him as if he seemed to be transported in his world by the melody. Even though she played a romantic song, she noticed that the rhythm was more slow and melancholy now. He looked at her with adoration and admiration, enjoying her music fully. Until finally, he whispered.

"You're the most beautiful woman on earth and I love you."

I already posted the comment on ao3, but you made a Ford that asshole but also cutie patootie. 🥺🥺 I'm not trying to hate at all, but there's been a lot of fics that made Ford basically an incel. Like I understand the times they were growing up in but he's an asshole because he just doesn't know basic human connection don't put him with the others!!! 😭😭 I understand that's some people's cup of tea but your fic really is a good combination of sweet!Ford and asshole!Ford mixed together. I know he's super sweet after the portal, but I love his character development throughout his life so thanks again for your fic and I'm excited for more 🥺🥺🥺

Ford is such a difficult guy to write because we don't really have a huge amount of pre-existing data to work with. A lot of ideas about him tend to be born from fanon/headcanon's and because those are so personal to people it can be hard to pin him down generally. I mean, everything I write is based off my own interpretation anyways but you get where I'm coming from.

In the episodes where he was the main focus, he does come across as bull-headed a lot of the time, but there's a real underlying softness there that I think is easily missed. He's determined and driven, and he's so fucking smart that even when he's not trying to be an asshole, he just comes off as one because people are naturally insecure around someone like that and more sensitive to the things they say. I think that's why sometimes it can be easy to assume the 'I'm a fucking jerk' route on his character and miss his intention. God knows Stan does it plenty, even though he loves his brother.

Ford is a dick, however he's not (in my opinion) a single-sided die. He's his own infinity-sided die! Alex has said before about writing Mabel that sure, she's goofy and silly, but don't make her the one-liner machine; she's also very smart and offers a counterbalance to Dipper's seriousness, and the same about Dipper; he's intelligent and determined, but he doesn't lack emotional depth and he doesn't want to hurt people.

I think Ford is the same at his core.

At college age, I imagine him very, very differently to as a full adult, and as a young man he probably had more room to extend those emotions and seek out a friend if they were his type of person. Look at Fiddleford, for example.

During his post-grad research/involved with Bill years, however, he changed dramatically, and post-portal Ford even more so. That Ford is different kettle of fish altogether and much more complex, and I look forward to writing him and taking on that challenge.

Ongoing Series - Thai

My School President (Fri YT) 2 of 10 - this show is gloriously ridiculous and charming and exactly my preferred kind of BL. Tinn has NO GAME, but man do I love a whipped boy. Anything that harkens this hard to Love Sick gets my vote. 

609 Bedtime Story (Fri WeTV) 3 of 11 - It is nice to see Ohm play a character with more animated facial expressions. I’m liking this show a great deal, but I am really not wild about time loops. Crazy to see Stud & Sam on screen together again. Holy Friend Zone flashbacks batman. 

Between Us (Sun iQIYI) 5 of 12 - it continues to be great, I continue to worry about the fact that apparently only Taiwanese BL considers therapy a viable option for boys who actually, ya know, NEED it. WATCH ALONG HERE.

Ai Long Nhai (Mon iQIYI) 11 of 12 - More nothing is happening, but the nothing is shirtless again, so I’m good. 

Remember Me (Sun Gaga) 9 of 12 - Well, the sweet little BL with Gun & Golf is great. Bummer they only take up 20% of screen time. Golf’s parents are the best. That’s all I got. 

I Will Knock You (Fri Gaga) 4 of 12 - it’s boring, what can I say? 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai 

My Tooth Your Love (Taiwan Fri Viki) 10 of 12 - everything about this show is so stinking cute, even the crumbs are adorbs. So many smiley kisses! (my 2nd fav kiss, the 1st one being a crying kisses, I’m warped). Speaking of, is it just me or is the actor playing Alex 1000% hotter when he smiles? Please no Doom next week, Taiwan? Pretty please? 

Oh! My Assistant (Korea Thurs Viki) 3-4 of 8 - Amusingly, I’m referring to it as OhMyAss in my notes. I do love this one, it has such a Japanese feel to it. The episode titles alone are hilarious. Plus, kisses already? Korea? What’s going on? Meanwhile, this is my favorite bisexual awakening in cinematic history. It made me incandescently happy. 

Happy Ending Romance (Korea Thurs Gaga & Viki) 5-6 of 8 - Look, I can watch Leo be pensive & moody until the cows come home (and have in half of Vixx’s MVs*) but it is getting a little tiresome here. PLUS: this is a KBL they don’t have a lot of time to waste even on his level of evil beauty. I think this would have worked better as a romance if the Writer had known the Editor in (at least) a friendly way in the past/at school as well - so there was more established dynamic to their instant affection and shacking up. Apart from my qualms around the romance thread, the plot is actually pretty good. It’s very angsty and tense for something so simple, which suits this length of show. *I guess what I am saying is if Korea ever did a remake of KinnPorsche, Leo MUST play Vegas.

Choco Milk Shake (Korea Strongberry Tues YT) 10 of 11 - Pain. Argh. It was cruel to send them back, to all of us. Is there an ep 11, or is that a BTS and this was the end? In which case... in Strongberry I no longer trust. I guess we find out next week how shaken my faith is. 

Eternal Yesterday AKA Eien no Kino (Japan Thurs Gaga & Viki) 8fin -Fortunately I have no faith at all in Japan, I expect pain from them. So here’s your final review of this one: 

Smart boy in love with zombie incubus, keeps him alive with sex. Japan, king of thirst, gives us both that and PAIN: these 2 are drowning in yearning and loss. Careful with this one - you break it, you bought it, and it'll break you... wide open just to see what color your guts are. After watching, you too might be walking around alone, forgotten, and wondering why no one understands your loss. Not only does it not end happily, it ends hopelessly. That’s an automatic 2/10 from me. No exceptions and NOT RECOMMENDED.

Sure, it may actually be brilliant, but it hurt me and I’m mad about it. 

It’s Airing But I’m Not Watching It

War of Y (Thai Gaga) 20 eps - it’s just all too much for me.

2 Moons 3 (Thai Mon ??) 10 eps - Possibly a future binge watch. Rumor is it’s banal.

Semantic Error movie (Viki) the repackage did have some nice added footage but I wasn’t wild about some of the new scene cut choices. Still, not substantial enough changes for me to deeply lean one way or the other. I prefer the original but that might just be because that’s how I consumed it first. *shrug* 

GAP the series (Sat YT) is a classic office set romance. WATCH IT! It’s GL and this studio needs our support! I’m enjoying it but not chronicling my journey. (Also, the stairs are back.)

Dec 16 - Candy Color Paradox AKA Ameiro Paradox from Japan, Gaga, 8 eps - A stakeout throws Onoe, a reporter, together with photographer Kaburagi. Kaburagi's haphazard work style goes against Onoe's ethics. Yet, in joint pursuit of a scandal, the two move from enemies to lovers. Adapted from manga Ameiro Paradox by Natsume Isaku.

Dec 21 - The New Employee AKA The New Recruit AKA Shinib Sawo from Korea, (prob Gaga or Viki) - From WATCHA (Semantic Error) virginal Seung Hyun scores the office internship of his dreams but on his first day at work he gets into it with his cool reserved boss. hi baby, Piarles son of my CEO with a twist. I was going to make everyone suffer DEEPLY about this pre-race drabble but I decided against it after making myself very sad.

Pierre has no business being here.

It's too late, it's too hot, and he's got to be in a meeting to meet the new nepo hire tomorrow morning at 10 AM.

But, that's why he's here.

His guy - the one he hired and trained and turned into the perfect employee - was passed over for the son of the CFO.

He's barely out of grad school - probably can't write a report without consulting his textbooks.

And he's meant to be Pierre's equal. He's meant to be the person that Pierre is going to work with on major acquisitions - trust to read his mind and stay late. Do all the work that Pierre does.

So, he swore off doing this - off dragging pretty boys in bars home when he should be home sleeping and resting his brain for his job, but he's here and there's a boy sucking on the side of his neck while they ride the elevator to his floor.

"You live in a nice place." The Pretty Boy says when the elevator stops and Pierre hums, squeezing his waist, pulling him down the hallway.

They haven't spoken much. There had been some dancing and some light kissing and then he had been the one to ask Pierre if he wanted to leave with him.

He's electric though. He's electric underneath his touch and he's beautiful even in the harsh light of the hall and Pierre knows he's the kind of guy he would ask on a proper date if they met in a coffee shop or maybe at the gym.

"I do," Pierre smiles at him as he pushes the door open and then there's no more talking for awhile.

There's no more talking for exactly three hours and then there's too much talking for Pierre's liking, but he can't seem to stop.

Charles is funny as hell and he's kind of stupid and he's the best fuck Pierre has had in ages, and he's eating Pierre's lunch currently, standing up at the counter while Pierre sits across from him, accepting cold chunks of sweet potatoes off the fork.

"I just think," Charles laughs through a mouthful of potato and a smile, "that no one actually hates action movies. They say that because they want to seem cultured and interesting and above it!"

Pierre has to swallow a piece of potato that's a bit too big so he doesn't choke on it.

"There is not another genre of anything that lets you look at a dirty, hunk of man, doing things that no human being should be able to do, and -"

"Okay, yes!" Pierre agrees with him, but he waves his hand to try and get him to stop talking. "But that doesn't really do it for me so maybe that's -"

Charles spears another sweet potato and hangs his head. "There's not a single part of you that enjoys the thought of some big strong man throwing you over their shoulder and -"

He squeals because the stool Pierre was in falls to the floor and Pierre is chasing him around the counter and it's way too much for a hook-up but Pierre can't care.

Charles is gone when he wakes up, but his name and his number are on the fridge whiteboard calendar in the Saturday slot and Pierre understands that he's meant to call him on Saturday, but he's running a bit late, so he just dumps his ruined lunch into the trash and grabs one of those canned coffees that he keeps in the fridge and hopes that his shirt goes high enough to cover the bruise on his neck that Charles left with his teeth.

He's going to call him. He's already decided.

Pierre is halfway through his morning routine. He's checked his email on the train and now he's responding to everything urgent and he's about to go and debrief with Alex about their upcoming meeting, but Otmar knocks on his door, sticking his head through it immediately.

"He's here," he says simply and Pierre abandons his emails and he knows that he won't be talking with Alex. He walks into the hallway after Otmar, expecting to be met with the face of a literal child except -

Charles stands there, new badge around his neck, hands in the pockets of his black suit pants, smiling at Esteban with his eyes crinkled up and Pierre thinks he might just die.

That's the fresh faced grad that he's going to have to suffer through.

"It's nice to meet you," and then Charles makes a show of looking at his badge, "Pierre. I hear we are going to be working together on acquisitions."

Pierre has regrets, but he nods at Charles, making a show of looking at his badge too. "Charles, we will be spending most of our evenings together."

And then when Charles reaches out to shake his hand, Pierre squeezes on it too hard, watching Charles' nostrils flare.

He's swearing off pretty boys in clubs. He decides. For good this time.

again the addition (i’m sure it is) of alex talking about how important it is for people to see people like him in politics, saying that henry doesn’t understand and henry saying: “i’m learning”. it was such a cute important moment

henry and alex giggling in the hotel room in texas as they take each others closes off. best thing in the world actually

ok sorry henry is SO charming with his little “once unsuccessfully” comment like SIR stop

alex’s ability to not hesitate in the slightest about not seeing henry again always gets me

alex saw henry letting loose being himself just living his best life and had to take a deep breath in because he was realised he was so in love

henry literally throwing himself overboard rather than hear alex say that he loves him. that was … HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME

very much needed alex to be screaming and swearing in the rain outside the palace but we cannot have it all i suppose

the way ‘i can’t help falling in love with you’ is such a top tier romantic song and they danced in the prettiest museum in london

ngl them sneaking into the v&a and that being leaked feels better than them just randomly kissing in the back of a car

a part of me until you have all of me was the sentiment to kill me dead. the addition of the exchanging of items as well was such a clever touch, considering how much that key meant to alex

ok but the way henry thought alex would never love him but alex did not only that but also said he would patiently wait for henry until he was ready. he constantly looks so shocked that alex is so ready just to be his urgh

“love sick homosexuals” no seriously why does she have the best lines in the world

staircase moment quite nearly killed me

alex watching henry play piano with this big smile on his face and then trying to play the national anthem whilst henry is just like: :D

it’s so cute because the film has really picked up on the idea that henry admires alex and his ability to just be himself so much

the bit where henry was going to reach down to play with his ring but realised alex was wearing it on his finger … the little look because they’re so connected

the little balcony moment was so cute, seeing all the little flags waving felt like such a moment

henry just running after alex rubbing his back making sure he isn’t freaking out on election night and then being like i wore a yellow tie :) it’s meant to reminder you of texas :) and alex just instantly hugging him and feeling better

really loved how they had the ending be the same as the book in terms of them walking into alex’s home. the little: “lead the way darling … OK well i took my first steps here” just took me out

so:

overall the cutest little romcom ever. it had comedy and chemistry and it was sweet. it was what it said it was

i actually didn’t find that it went too fast in terms of their relationship because it felt like so much had already sort of happened between them if that makes sense? so so so much was said through their facial expressions, like it was insane how much actually? i also felt like the paris sex scene added so much to their relationship because it just felt so ridiculously intimate and i felt the shift into something so much more serious between them

i wished we got a few more scenes (idk why but i wanted david and alex to meet lmao)

again the addition of miguel was something i got? didn’t like it but got it because i think the book leak idea was a little too complex or would have taken too much time to build up (aka too much time away from alex and henry). he was just a bit of a creep lmao

i definitely feels like it will be appreciated and understood so much more by people who have read the book. the idea of them both loving each other before we saw them at the wedding was felt within the book a lot more. the way alex had a photo of henry when he was younger and henry was so taken by alex back then was never said?

i also … don’t shoot me but … didn’t really miss june that much? like nora was fine but even if june was there i feel like she would have had the exact same vibe as nora. basically a sound board for alex in regards to henry but they didn’t delve into their family history or had their parents divorced which again … i kind of get? it feels like they were interested in alex and henry’s relationship more so than the building blocks to their individual personalities and they definitely sacrificed elements of complexity on alex’s part especially

the scene in the book where alex rings henry and just complains about his family is such a little turning point for them and would have been lovely to see in the film but like i said … i kind of get it

henry and alex were perfectly cast in my eyes. henry was so endearing and charming and complex and they nailed all of that and alex was loud and passionate and unapologetically himself

having read the book and found it hopeful and optimistic and so so charming, the film was exactly that too

Vegas 23

Vegas was silly, way too much unnecessary show and all it really did was making me want to rewatch the Ocean's movies.

But here are my thoughts on Vegas and my favorite drivers 6,5 months into liking f1:

1. Alex Albon  

I've got to say, quali made me fucking happy and the first few laps, when both Williams could hold their positions. I'm sure no one really expected them to stay up there, but I feel like they would've deserved at least some points. 

Also, when he fell during the Netflix Cup. 

2. Sergio Perez 

VAMOS!!!! I'm so happy for Checo!!! 

I was so scared, after that turn one ichident, but luckily everything turned out okay. Even though I feel like Red Bull don't celebrate that championship 1-2 enough. It seems like they tend to forget that Checo brought Max his first Championship AND Red Bulls first 1-2. 

Also, I was so stressed in that last lap. Why did it have to be so fucking close again? My heart can't handle that. Plus, I'm getting really mad at the German commentators again. They just keep bullshitting on Checo to the point that I actually think about watching with the English commentary. And then when he does good in the race, they just act so surprised as if he hadn't done this before, qualifying badly but then totally killing it in the race.

3. Charles Leclerc/Lewis Hamilton 

My little Ferrari heart was happy for the majority of the weekend, but it also broke a little. Being a Ferrari fan comes with tons of mixed feelings. 

Also, I was a little mad at Charles for overtaking Checo on the last lap, but I can't really be mad at him. He deserves that 2nd place and I'm happy for him, even if he himself is not happy with 2nd. 

I feel a little bad, because I haven't been rooting for Lewis at all, but I just needed Checo to get that 2nd place in the championship. Now that that's out of the way, I can root for Lewis again :) 

Also them having a few moments together this weekend made me happy. 

4. Lance Stroll 

I'm so happy!!! 

Here the commentators were shocked as well, because Lance is like Checo a victim of their constant bullshitting. He's showing the world that he does deserve his seat and I couldn't be happier for him! 

5.  Lando Norris 

I'm sad. It was a horrendous weekend for him. Even without the crash. I just hope he really is fine and doesn't just say that to not worry us. 

Also can we talk about how wag coded Max Fewtrell is? I love it. 

Honorable mentions: 

Logan. I was so happy for him in Quali! I just wish the race would have ended a little better for him. And then I watched a clip of him and remembered how fucking American he is. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Americans. I love Americans, but they can be real silly. And Logan is often very silly. 

Carlos. I refused to wake up at 5am to watch fp1, waking up to "red flag because of SAI", "FP1 will not be resumed" and "FP2 will be delayed for 2 hours, because the track needs to be fixed". Let me tell you, I was imagining the worst. I thought Carlos had sent it into the wall or something. It took me a while to understand what had actually happened. And how dare them give Carlos a fucking 10 place grid penalty for THEIR mistake? I'm furious! Well at least he got P6. 

Max. I have finally decided that I love Max. I am no longer torn when it comes to him. My favorite thing about this weekend (after Checo securing 2nd in the championship) might be that Max tried to help Checo on that last lap. I really didn't expect him to, but that was sweet, just a little too late. But that's not his fault. 

Liam. I miss him. He seems like a fun guy and I really liked him and Yuki together.
