hey uhhhh im door. when i was 15 i spent like a whole year obsessed with fairy tail. if i charge my old ipod touch i'll even find old ft fics i used to write in there lmao. i stopped reading after/during the tartaros arc because of real life issues and then time passed. fast forward to december 2023 somehow this passion was ignited again when i saw nalu art on twitter and i got hit with the overwhelming need to read fairy tail again.

so that's what i've been doing.

currently on: volume 20, finishing the oración seis arc. (ill update this)

idk i know nobody realistically cares but i created this side blog kind of on a whim so i can reblog stuff like crazy and maybe post stuff of my own since there's a LOT of plot points i did not remember. it's been really fun relearning fairy tail again :) i definitely remember why i had so much fun with it as a kid. i feel lucky.

anyway. i ship everything under the sun. kid-me loved the big 4 (especially jerza) and i still do, but i honestly love everything lmao. been trying to find poly team natsu content but its been hard. i feel like there's a lot of potential there. i just really like the thought of everyone in the team being kind of in love with lucy a little bit. (im obviously excluding wendy here.)

my favorite character is erza but lucy natsu gray and juvia come real close. im trying to acclimate myself to drawing the gang again but im really slow when drawing, so.

I really appreciate how it seems everyone seems to have their own priorities when it comes to Fairy Tail redesigns tbh, like mine are "what if they were butch" half the time or "what if their outfit was more functional"

What's your take on Irene I'm curious? She's the latest woman I'm hitting with the butch beam but in general I haven't really seen people redesign her much despite her fucking ATROCIOUS outfit

The easy part is my mentality with redesigns, I usually just go for what I personally find aesthetically pleasing while adding in visual storytelling with their personalities. Like all the dragon slayers having varying levels of draconic features for plot or lucys main fit being an equestrian horse riding uniform to allude to how she ran away from home.

Idk for me it's kind of rule of cool at times and just me messing around until I start thinking abt the plot and incorporating more and more ideas into the designs ig

Ok so I have gotten asks about my opinions on Irene and silver and all that so the tldr is that I don't actually remember a lot of the late ft stuff bc I genuinely just got bored and didn't like it.

I plan on rewatching a lot of this but FROM THE LITTLE I DO REMEMBER here r my thoughts:

From jump I think bringing back Irene or silver is a detriment to both erzas and grays character arcs. They happen at a point in the series where we were never even remotely interested in who their birth parents r and seemingly neither did either of them so to bring them up out of no where feels like shock value to me.

There's just very little emotional investment because again AT THIS POINT in the story both of them r suppose to have grown where they see the guild as their family regardless of blood ties. This is kinda emphasized/ addressed by having erza be like the only parent I recognize is my guild master but also then y make it her mom in the first place if it doesn't hold any emotional stakes??

Specifically Irene, I think making her related to dragons is cheap and weird, erza before this has never been hinted at to have any kind of connection to dragons so again we have this weird shock value nonsense feeling

Like ugh if u WANTED to make it work then at the very least they could have made Irene more mother gothel energy where she's actively trying to coax erza into loving her and playing the role of the loving doting mother only to turn out to have been evil the whole time or something to at least CHALLENGE erza emotionally since so much of her arc has been learning to let ppl in so having it back fire this late in the show would have been interesting to me.

I'm rewatching the Irene fight just for this and I'm so annoyed now omg let's talk abt it

Irene just taking over Wendy's body happened so fast and easy also u can't tell me that Irene has never heard of the other dragon slayers so what would it have changed to just make this her plan all along and that's y she wanted to get close to erza and gain her trust. Like give it an arc or something with the twist at the end that she was grooming wendyas her new body and make the ritual more involved that it needed some level of trust or willingness from Wendy which would in turn make erza feel awful for putting her trust in Irene at all

I'm spitballing idk but all this to say that having a main supporting characters parents come back from the dead to be a nothing villain that they defeat the same as everyone else is lame

I forgot this is the fight where erza destroys a meteor with one arm I'm not even going to touch on that theres just so much there.

I simply hate the switch of like, o it's grays dad wait no it's actually deliora wait no it's actually actually grays dad fr This time guys-

Like idk commit to something bc again, this whole fight is like 10 minutes so all this info is just thrown at gray with no time for him to process until his dad dies again like idk can we plz have some internal struggle that lasts more than a single fight

I don't hate giving gray some kind of closure to his family dying but he also literally never mourned or talked abt them before hand bc, to me, it was implied he didn't really grieve them and just jumped right to revenge and training with Ur and when she died her death kind of consumed him so he stopped thinking abt his parents?

Idk again, if u wanted to make it work, literally just throw in some guilt abt his parents deaths where gray feels like he could have protected them or something or even resenting his father for not being strong enough to protect them and thats y he always pushes himself to do better and is willing to sacrifice himself to save his family at every turn bc he wants to be a martyr so bad guys-

Jellal is mentally slow, and I like him, good guy I guess, but how did he not get the idea that there could be two time travelers from before and you got him asking, "Lucy came back in time to warn us but the other time traveler what's their reason?" Pretty obvious. TO KILL THE ONE WHO'S TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING, Jellal has probably never seen a movie before when he was a evil bitch, all the good plot twist movies that have you on the edge of your seat but your well aware of what will happen next.

The fact that Ultear and Meredy were worried about what was going on and were willing to help Lucy and the others makes me question that mf fr, I find it odd that Ultear wasn't willing to believe Lucy was the problem but Jellal is sketch of her, and I don't blame him (Yes I do, I'd jump him, I find the Future Lucy death scene sad but unnecessary, Natsu literally has speed, Tony the tiger has speed(Loke) and Future Lucy got hit ) Mashima made Jellal's only real concern being towards Erza (Y'know the girl he tried to kill in his possessed form, says he has a fiance to drive her away only for her to know he's lying and they start a stupidly set up slowburn relationship)

I hate the dragon arc, burn it, gave us time travel that lasted for ten episodes, got rid of the best character ( Ultear "That Bad Bitch" Milkovich)

This is completely bias, I know everyone had their reasons, this is from my irrational view point.

It's not poor jellal's fault is the bad writing. I mean he was also manipulated for half of his life and the other half was spent in prison/running from justice, and finally lost all his character for a "romance" so maybe he doesn't have the best instincts.

The compelling element of future Lucy's death hinges completely on our love for the normal lucy and also on nalu fodder. Also, do you ever think if seeing herself die in her own arms was even a little traumatizing for lucy? it would've been interesting to see if she was troubled by that fact.

I will be forever bitter about Ultear's death. I *do* understand that it was necessary because dammit this series has like 5 actual character deads or something, we needed some stakes but fuuuuuuck just kill jelly man instead. At the very least her death had an impact on the plot, although it is a stupid move having her show up later in whatever frozen time state she's in, it's both just a tease and another example of how mashima doesn't respect character death.

I might be insane but hear me out Mira and erza religious trauma bond they are 2 sides of the same coin fr.

Mira was raised in a pretty religious town right. As soon as she developed her demon magic all of them, everyone she knew, turned on her. She wanted to remain there but was forcibly pushed away, isolated and told she was a disgusting monster for something she really couldn't control.

Erza however was not raised at all basically, as far as we know she was on her own from day 1, then at like 6 was kidnapped and dragged into a cult against her will to be forced to work for a god she didn't know anything about.

For Mira developing her magic was the end of everything, the day her entire life fell apart and she hates herself for it. She tried to burn her arm off because she hated it so much, when the villagers said she was disgusting she believed them and hated herself with every fiber of her being.

For erza, magic was the one shred of hope she ever had, joining fairy tail and being a wizard was her dream growing up and the day she developed it was the day she was finally able to fight back. As an adult she clung to her magic and armors as her only way of hiding her weakness and protecting those she loves. In erza's mind, outside of her ability to protect she was nothing.

Mira was forced out of her religion,

erza was dragged into hers.

To Mira, her magic was a curse. It was a disgusting mutation that she hated because she believes it made her unlovable.

To Erza, magic was all that she had. She as a person was nothing, her magic was the only thing about her that ever would be worth loving.

And also if you were to rewrite her an Gray's relationship, but still have them be together, how would you do it?

Personally, I think them both being aromantic and then possibly having a queer platonic relationship would be good

For my rewrite specifically, I have juvia as a lesbian with hard-core comphet and gray as an aromatic whore and they r besties

However, gun to my head if I had to make Gray and juvia work here r my thoughts:

Weirdly I'd keep it pretty close to canon in the beginning WITH THE ADJUSTMENT that juvia isn't full stalker crazy and gray never explicitly expresses being uncomfortable.

Juvia all her life has been isolated and made to feel like her feelings are a burden to others because they have to deal with the rain if she's upset, so by the time she meets gray she's in a state of constant depression/ feeling numb all the time becauses she's buried her feelings so deep.

Same as canon where she fights gray and he saves her and it makes her fall in love with him because he was kind to her blah blah blah

BUT that's not why she joins fairy tail, she actually joins because she's so captivated by their like, willingness to accept each other and stand by each other through everything? Like it fascinates her because she's never seen that kind of unconditional love and she genuinely thought it was made up

So she joins and she keeps a close eye on gray because it's so weird to her that he's so abrasive to everyone yet so caring? Like it shows her a different form of expressing love and care rather than the very clear cut romanticized stuff she's read in fairy tales and stories (which to me have informed how she interacts with others and shaped her perception of relationships)

The biggest thing is that juvia doesn't let herself like, interact with gray? She just stares at him whenever he's in the room and it creeps gray out but she never does anything so he puts up with it? Like to me he just thinks she hates him because he won their fight and she's holding a grudge

She's very standoffish to him and quiet, just constantly trying to figure out why he doesn't fit into the box she's carefully constructed her worldview inside

Hes constantly fighting with natsu but risks his life for him. He's scared of erza but continues to tease her. It fr just doesn't click for her.

She's so focused on gray she doesn't notice herself making other friends and starting to grow more as a person

Gray on the other hand is still trying to get use to asking for help and rely on others so I thinks it could just be a really interesting story of them both allowing themselves to trust someone fully, because while gray loves the fairy tail guild he would always rather shoulder everything than inconvenience one of them.

And it just also goes into how they both, to me, struggle with depression and constantly bury their real feelings and just slowly opening up to each other

Lol did u notice how in order to make Gray and juvia work romantically I had to just rewrite everything about their dynamic??? I hate canon them together it's so annoying

Some of this is canon to my rewrite but not all of it? Idk im cooking dw abt it.
