Jokes aside I’ve been going down a Crowley merch rabbit hole, and I never actually saw all three of his Valentine’s Day messages until now \(//∇//)\ I put them in order by year, so 2021, 2022, and 2023. The 2021’s photo is unfortunately really hard to find, so thanks to @twstarchives for writing his message.

I’m adoring the implication of 2022 Crowley eating something that was NOT edible 🧎🧎🧎what in the world did we give to him that he mistook it for food?!? Is he truly like a crow in that he eats inedible things like garbage or carrion and can’t tell the difference in flavor? Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑) Not me trying to theorize from MERCH lmao (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) It’s cute how he eats up our gifts in one sitting in both the 2022 and 2023 cards though! I like how he sounds more casual with us as time goes on 💞🐦‍⬛

Anyway, the 2022 merch came with this, frankly quite ugly, rubber charm thing? The colors are quite…interesting. The 2023 card came with this cute macaron mirror, and I don’t believe the 2021 card came with anything at all. Interesting how the macaron has these dot designs that resembles Malleus’s green fireflies- ha, I jest. It probably just represents his sequined suit jacket…probably

Moving on! I like using these photos a lot, so who could forget the iconic Crowley plushies 🤣🤣🤣they’re so goofy, I love it! I believe some of these were quite hard to come by, because he and the other staff members were regulated as prizes, but I’d appreciate a fact check! I wish I could have a Crowley plush…

He also has this QPosket figurine, which was advertised alongside Cater Diamond and Trey Clover. It’s cute, but wouldn’t it be cool if Crowley and the other characters had those super fancy figures with cool props?! Think like those beautiful Cardcaptor Sakura figures- with their canon body types too. Hmm it would be expensive for both sides haha but I’d love it…imagine a Crowley figure surrounded by blot lol

Back by popular demand, it’s the lords lees in black! You’ve heard of tickle monsters, now get ready for tickled monsters! Again, this got p long so gonna put it under the cut

All the libs blush their respective colors

Based off the doll designs, all of their tummies are fuzzy & a different color than the rest of their fur, so they’re all pretty ticklish there, some more than others 😉

Pokey

He’s one of the more fun & “chill” lords, so it’s not much of a surprise that he just kinda rolls over & lets his bros wreck his shit

He thinks it’s fun & enjoys the feeling itself as well as the feeling of laughing freely

He has deep, rich laugh that sounds like pure joy itself. If you get him really laughing it can legit shake the room

Because the hivemind is tuned in to him, they know exactly when he’s in a lee mood. They coordinate their attack & take turns tickling him & he lets it happen because he promised them happiness & world peace & if this is what they wanna do he won’t stop them!

His most ticklish spots are his neck & belly because those muscles are most associated with singing (vocal cords & diaphragm) & ribs since they cage the lungs. Oh, & ears. I may be tickle trash, but I try to have some kind of reasoning behind why I headcanon characters as being ticklish certain places

I think Tinky & Wiggly are the ones who tickle him the most because they both have bully energy

Blinky

Funny how they just love watching other people get their shit wrecked but when it’s HIS turn he’s covering his face out of embarrassment

Arguably the most flustered, but Wiggly gives him a run for his money, he’s just more angy about it

Absolutely no idea why, but I’m getting ticklish hands vibes. Probably the long sleeves over the hands

Watcher with a thousand eyes=eyes in the back of his head=ticklish scalp? 👀👀👀

Has a really cute high pitched giggle that’s very bubbly

The shiny leggings & boots draw a lot of attention to the lower body, & it makes me think his worst spots are his hips, knees & feet. & the baggy hoodie makes me feel like his armpits are also up there

Tinky

This unhinged goatman constantly has to be put in his place by his brothers & tickling is the best (& easiest) way to do so

He absolutely provokes them to wreck his shit because he thinks it’s so much fun & he loves to laugh & be silly & make. & he always feels so proud of himself to dragging the rest of them down to “his level” but then they immediately make him regret it… then he does it again an hour later

Very open about how much he loves it, but still gets embarrassed when his brothers tease him about it

He has hooves instead of feet, & if you were to try to buff them up or polish them he’d be such a giggly snorting mess

He has a shrill, hysterical cackle like how he laughs in The Summoning

He has a lil goat tail & if you scratch at the small of his back he arches away with the loudest screech you’ve ever heard

His most ticklish spots are his ears/neck, thighs & knees, & hooves if you use a rough enough touch

His ears are super soft & velvety & if you rub them between your fingers he can’t stop snorting between giggles

Tickling makes him so hyper & excited & his bros have to work extra hard to tide him out

Nibbly

Besides Tinky, he is the happiest & most playful of the lib & always has that classic wide grin plastered on his face. & he has a bright, joyous laugh to match!

Because he has such a big mouth, his laugh is really loud & bombastic. He also has a really cute giggle that’s sweet as honey

Gets really flustered if you use his own techniques & teases against him

Can’t stand tickle bites or raspberries despite how much he loves to dish them out

The fluffy arm sleeves really got me thinking about how it probably tickles him on accident when he moves, especially around his armpits

Even when he’s not tickled, he’s just very giggly

Since his whole thing is eating, his tummy is one of his worst spots. Also his thighs, sides & armpits

What you’ve all been waiting for tbh, am I right?

Biggest fucking lee out of all the lib but is in such hard denial mode. The Tickle Me Wiggly doll was the first step to acceptance & he keeps trying to make excuses for why he chose the name

Like it absolutely could’ve been just a Wiggly doll, no tickling required but he made his choice & stuck with it

Keeps insisting he had to make something unassuming & innocent & all his bros are just like mmmmhmmmm 😏

He’s sooo easy to fluster but be careful, he gets mad when he’s embarrassed. Not his usual scary levels of anger but def pissy

Even tho he loves it he will always try to run away. Gotta keep up appearances

His laugh is shrill & borders on cackling. Sometimes it’s giggly & bouncy & broken up by hiccups like in the middle of Made in America

A very jittery & nervous lee. He laughs in anticipation & curls in on himself & tries to talk himself out of the situation he absolutely put himself in

All of the lords wreck his shit on a regular basis because it’s the only way they can knock him down a peg

Most ticklish spots are of course his belly well, ribs, feet & knees, but he’s basically a walking tickle spot

Hands down the most ticklish out of all the lords in black

🐱Chizu Mini Rant: I hate Chizu’s design in the show. Not the clothing more so the body model. I hate that they made her the stereotypical curvy cat girl with a tiny hourglass waist and tiny hands and feet. Really weird proportions, Like we’re going back to the betty boop era but no one else in the show looks like this? (Also, No hate to people who are curvy btw love you) It just doesn’t feel like it belongs in the show. Maybe if she were shorter, it would work better? Idk Also she’s like the only one in a full skin tight suit (like I get animation, but they didn’t even bother giving her implied loose clothes or armor like the other ninjas? Maybe bc she was undercover? but then she should’ve been wearing something closer to the bg character models) It’s like they’re trying to make her sexy but like why?????? for why????

I really liked the concept art of Chizu. She’s got a more sharp/rigid and square silhouette but still some curves (w/o it being weird). She still has tiny hands but her head isn’t the size of a watermelon and her face isn’t super tiny, the proportions are good. She’s all power stanced up lol She looks mean and menacing, someone not to trust or mess with. It’s literally spot on. ✨chef kiss ✨ It’s also probably why they didn’t really go with it, they probably rounded her out to be more appealing for the reveal? or she was hard to animate cause she did have baggier pants idk. Who am I, but a rando with a hard boiled egg for brains.

Art Notes: I took a lot of inspiration from the comics and I did want to keep her iconic red so she was still recognizable & stand out from the neko ninja. I made her a regular black cat! (with the idea of black cats being less likely to be adopted & be strays) (;-;) (I know she was kidnapped but still!! The stray cat vibes!!!) I gave her a more lean and tall figure, kinda like the comics but also to play off of Kistune’s height and it give scrawny stray cat vibes . . . again lol. It’s also a body shape I don’t see a lot in physically strong female characters (or maybe I do and just don’t remember? Idk but she can definitely kick your ass & she’s not here for anybody’s bullshit lol) I gave her the iconic ponytail from the comics along with the comb Kitsune usually wears. I wanted to give her green eyes (bc black cat & red and green) but i just kept them yellow. Maybe i’ll go back and change them. Her outfit is mostly inspired from Karai (bc she’s a ninja from eons ago & the gang is a little more traditional) just (pretend cuz i’m lazy) with traditional Japanese patterns. Chizu definitely got kunais and stars up her sleeves, but bc she doesn’t have to be a ninja anymore, I imagine her more into wearing pretty dresses with patterns and cute things. Stuff she never got to wear/ enjoy as a kid, you know. The show really wants to push her to be a bad ass girl boss who hates everyone and everything and is too cool and edgy for games but idk. I like to think she left the ninja stuff behind her and started living her own life based on exploring things rather than just being the cool ninja with an edgy backstory. I think she uses ninjitsu as a means of self defense but doesn’t like being connected to it b/c of the kidnapping and stuff. (We also see how she doesn’t really care about the tradition of ninjitsu cause during the show, she has no fucking clue what to do with the neko ninja, she just wanted them to stop hurting people and wanted to free the babies lol) Usagi and Kitsune are the ones who indulge her childish side. She wears a lot of red but her favorite color is pink. Kitsune def hypes her up and goes feral when she wears pink.

🦊 Kitsune Mini Rant: I hate Kitsune’s clothes in the show. Idk it just doesn’t look right on her. It’s got no shape it’s got no hiding spots for stolen goods. It’s not Kitsune. I like the concept art fit, it’s really cute. (She looks like a mini tank who will fuck you up in a cute way) but still #1 thing missing. Hiding spots for stolen goods!!! She needs some loose sleeves or flowy clothing like in the comics. (btw: I know it would be harder to animate in the show therefore I accept what they gave her but still!!!)

Art Notes: I’m not too sure about Kitsune’s fit tbh. I’m still workshopping it. She just needs something with loose sleeves! (Like she for sure is stealing shit and putting it up her sleeves, you can’t tell me i’m wrong/ it’s also where she could keep her fans!) I think i’m obsessed with her sleeves cause I imagine her gambling or playing a game of cards with a bunch of dangerous criminals and someone accuses her of cheating and she goes “What?! Me?! No, no. I’m just that good or maybe . . . you’re just that bad-” Then all the stolen cards fall out her sleeves and she just goes -fuck. and it turns into this picture vvv

ANYWAYS!!!! I gave her short hair bc idk, a girls gotta change it up sometime 💅 I actually liked her hair mimicking a fox tail but I feel like she would get bored of it and chop it all off one day. She's definitely the one who cuts and dye’s her hair at 1am then cries about it the next day. She’s got visibly longer ears and sharper face. Kitsune and Usagi wanted to get piercings together cause they’re besties and want to be edgy (she lowkey got it on her left ear to match Chizu) and so they did and Usagi’s Auntie was so PISSED lol. They got chewed out. Her hands and feet should be a little darker but i forgor. Also she’s got dark teal wrappings so it would be hard to tell anyways. I gave her the crop top with buttons from the concept art and the sleeves from the comic. They have the same maple leaf print from her comic too (i’m just lazy) and the cuffs are just lined to mimic the layers she had. She’s got her little pack, she’s also got some more smaller ones on the back (kinda like Leo). She also made a comment about not having money to buy herself shoes so . . . she’s got no shoes lol. It just wrappings under her shin guards. (no shoes just like Leo smh) It helps her be more sneaky tho >:)

Oh and they’re dating but i feel like that’s a given lol. I saw people shipping them at first and it literally went -> *sees ship* Oh they’re shipping the only two main female characters together again- yeah that’s greeeat- *Watches the show* oh. nvm I retract my sarcasm, they’re def gay for each other, thats nice. This is nice -w-

which is pretty funny, cause I think they don't like each other in the comics? (from what I saw in the singles panels I used as a reference at least) Chizu’s legit ready to kill Kitsune lol

Post Note: I totally forgot Chizu chose a bow and arrow as a weapon so now she’s just the stereotypical tall archer . . . i’m gonna go now ;-;

Gen Mini Rant: Holy Moly dudes, he was sooooo hard to draw ;-; I don't hate his design at all, actually it's one I like the most. I just don't like that there's not a lot of contrast on the 3D model and he kind just blends into a purple blob. (for me at least) I defiantly didn't do him justice but that's the best it's gonna get (from me that is.)

Art Notes: Don't look the feet . . . for any of them but mostly Gen lol. I don't really like the purple I chose but every color combo I did just looked bad idk. I can't do color, don't look at me man. Me and purple do not mix. He's still a bounty hunter so I wanted to keep his armor but I wanted him to have a long tail-coat/cape-ish jacket cause he would look cool as hell with one of those >:) (prob not practical but still) I wanted to add elbow and knee pads, but he's a rhino, he can take it. Also how can bad guys hurt him if he's too busy beating them up with his brass knuckles? He's still got his clubs but he likes clanging his fists together. lol His horn grew back! He's also got a goatee and everyone makes fun of him. The gang always threatens to shave it off in his sleep. I took more inspo from the show than the comic cause I don't really know Gen in the comics and what I did find was just miyamoto usagi but purple ;-; (clothes wise)

Day 1: Heterochromia I’ve come to the revaluation that my sona is already cringe as hell considering not only can his entire body change color but he also has differently colored eyes as a staple of his design. They’re usually yellow and blue but this time I color picked the blue from the trans flag and the mint from the Vincian flag for this color palette, it turned out really pretty :)

Day 2: Self Insert Now she isn’t my self insert anymore, but back in the day when I was at “peak cringe” she definitely was. This is my warriors OC Icypelt and I have a post going over part of her story on my profile somewhere. She’s been through a lot and I think her modern design is very pretty :)

Day 3: Unnecessarily complex fit/design Spider scene is kinda infamous in my brain for having wayyy too much detail but I love them and I think this might be my favorite one out of this batch, super cute, the pose is really cute and the colors are nice and fits her really well :D

day 4: Angel x Devil inevitable MCR reference ik, Helena and Revenge, love them dearly. Poor revenge man this one is cute and looks like a sticker!!

Day 6 (I skipped day 5 because I didn’t want to open up ms paint today): neko i kinda hate this one but cat Gerard yay

Day 7: Pinterest base at first I wanted to draw hobie in place of Gwen but I remembered that I haven’t really drawn Mikey with her even though they’re supposed to be friends so I drew her instead. Idk. The height difference is not accurate because of that but Jumping Spider is small because he’s based on a jumping spider and those are tiny who would have thought

Day 11: Yandere LYLA is technically canonically a yandere because spoiler alert she tried to kill Miguel’s fiancé via overheating her in the shower (essentially literally boiling her like a lobster) because she was “in love” with him (she said if she did have autonomy and had feelings the would be in love with him but she doesn’t but idk who knows I don’t).

day 12: niche interest ik MCR isn’t exactly “niche” but the black parades story in particular has always caught my interest and I have my own interpretation of it and a whole kind of story I’m still developing and character arcs and headcanons and interactions and yeah you get it, death in particular has evolved into god knows an OC on his own I just keep him attached to MCR because… it makes more sense that way, ig-

day 13: creepypasta does this count- whatever grimdark is just the same thing as a creepypasta- I’m not really in the MLP fandom anymore but it was my first ever “fandom” I was actually apart of. My first hyperfixation if you will. I wasn’t in the grimdark part of the fandom because I was too young for it but I was actually watching the izzzyzzz grimdark video and I was like “oh” and drew a rainbow factory Rainbowdash. Honestly I should draw ponies more they’re fun to draw

Day 14: candygore (?) im not good at drawing candygore and since I was rushing this o didn’t do it as well as I thought I can, but it still turned out pretty cool

Animaniacs Super 7 Figures!

Hi everyone! I know in my last post, I said that my next post was going to be my biggest one yet (my ranking of every single Pinky and The Brain segment from the reboot) but something arrived before I could start that!

My Super 7 Animaniacs Ultimates figures arrived! Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Brain arrived last Wednesday while Pinky came last Thursday. I’ve been waiting for these for over 1 year and two months and I’m so excited they are now in my collection! Here is my official review of these amazing figures (and all the trouble I went through to get them out of the box).

Here they all are in their boxes. First things first, I love the way they designed these boxes. They’re colorful and each one is different. I plan on keeping them for storage. Brain’s box is absolutely gigantic and sticks out compared to the others. I don’t have photos of the backs but it’s only a picture of each character and a little background. Now, onto each figure.

Here’s Yakko! I love how tall he is when compared to his siblings. He also has some good weight to him. The figure is a tad bit hard to move, but that’s a given since he’s new. Moving around the joints will loosen them up a little. The ears also move, which is a surprise! Unfortunately, I found it very difficult to put on his alternate head, to the point where I couldn’t actually get it on. I’ll figure it out and even if I don’t, I’m not really going to use that head anyways. Yakko’ s tail was also hard to change. The hands are cute, though I haven’t tried changing them. I really like the way Yakko looks even if there are a few paint smudges (but that’s always going to happen). The board with the countries of the world is very detailed and contains every single country mentioned in the song. The bag of fun is nice and weighted and I think the little pointer is a nice touch. This took me about 20 minutes to get out of the packaging because it was so secure! My fingers were sweaty and my thumbs hurt. I did manage after a while. While it was hard, I’m not going to let that detract from my opinion! Overall, a great figure.

Next up is Wakko! He was very easy to take out of the plastic thankfully. I think he looks really cute and I love his sweater! It does make it kind of hard to articulate his arms, but I’ll work on that. I didn’t even try to put on his alternate head since I didn’t want to have another Yakko situation. His tail was mercifully easier to change than Yakko’s. I love all the little hands and how they can actually hold the accessories. Speaking of which, these are the best accessories from the three Warners. The mallet was heavy and a good size, I love the USA on the board, the fiddle was a little big but it still worked, and the dynamite stick (which comes with all three Warner siblings) is very colorful. I love Wakko’s alternate head; I just think it looks neat. The paint job was good also. Another win here.

She’s cute, she’s feisty, she’s witty: it’s Dot! She was also really hard to get out of the box, though not as hard as Yakko. She is so tiny; she’s actually smaller than Brain! I love her heads, particularly her heart eyes head. Dot’s tail was hard to swap out since her skirt got in the way, but I figured it out after messing with it for a minute. Her hands are so cute! I love the rose and the butterfly. She also has fists! Sadly, she comes with the least amount of accessories only having a stick of dynamite and a little duck float (which has a softer plastic rubbery texture!). Dot’s paint was pretty good with barely any smudges. I can’t wait to find a little stool and do some Dot’s Poetry Corner things. I hope I can get her to sit down! She was very adorable and fun!

Pinky’s turn! Narf! This was hands-down my favorite of the 5 figures (and not just because Pinky is my favorite character). He feels the most accurate and was the easiest to pose and articulate. Removing him from the box was also easy. His tail will become a little loose though when moved around a lot. It does stay in place when positioned. Changing Pinky’s heads was easy and didn’t take too much time. His alternate heads were my favorite! I love the “bopped on the head look” and Pinky’s happy face was really cute. He also has the most hands. I also love it how they made Pinky left handed and gave him some hands that not only hold the accessories, but look like he’s giving a thumbs up. The accessories are cute too. I love the grappling hook, notepad, and the science equipment that make me wish we got a cage play set. And though I don’t personally ship Pinky and Phar Fignewton, the little picture was a nice touch. This was just an amazing figure and I can ignore the paint defects since he’s fantastic looking. I will be taking a lot of pictures of this mouse; he’s so photogenic!

Lastly, we have The Brain! The heaviest figure, (and shockingly, the easiest one to remove from the packaging) Brain is a tad bit top-heavy and is difficult to stand, though you can get him to stay upright. Brain’s head is huge, about as big as the palm of my hand. His tail can be popped out with ease, which can be frustrating, though it’s quick to put back in. He is easy to pose and his hands are so freaking tiny! I love his alternate head; it’s so expressive. I wish he had another head to get more expressions from him. His accessories are incredible! I love the giant magnet and the blueprint was made of cardboard to my surprise. The paper clip and pointer are also fun. My favorite accessory, perhaps maybe of the entire line, is the globe keychain. It’s a real keychain that can be put on things like backpacks and it comes from my favorite episode! I was so happy when I found out that this was going to be an accessory in this set. He was fun to pose and was size-accurate when compared to Pinky. I think he looks very close to the show and I can’t wait to put him in some situations with Pinky. Brain was amazing overall and I’m excited for some more pictures.

Overall, I loved these a lot. There were a few paint issues and the posing and swapping of heads and hands could be difficult, but I still adore them, especially Pinky and Brain. I am loving all the accessories and all the possibilities for articulation. These are honestly a must-have for people who love the show. They’re not perfect by any means, but I still find them really cool. Overall 8.5/10 for the entire lot. I hope you enjoyed my review! Here are a few pictures I took of Pinky and Brain below:

Here’s Pinky in his first dress! This was on a random fairy doll I had and I thought it would look perfect on him. Luckily, it did! Random RTC Headcannons that are just for fun

Ocean’s favorite color is cherry red simply because cherries are actually her favorite food.

Constance can do a scarily accurate Pinkie Pie impression and it freaks Ricky out with just how similar it actually is.

On that note, Ricky is a brony and his favorite character is Rarity because he thinks she would be able to make him a great space bachelor outfit.

One of Noel’s secret favorite movies is the 2003 Peter Pan. He absolutely adores the fairy tree dance scene.

Jane/Penny has a knack for designing and creating clothes, so when a special event comes up, she’ll try to hand-make the other girls outfits for them, whether it be a long, glamourous gown or a super cute pantsuit.

Ricky once dared Mischa to chew and play with a squeaky toy like a dog but the squeaker came out and lodged itself in Mischa’s throat. It squeaked every time he breathed until doctors could get it out.

Noel never lets him live this down and laughs his ass off each time he thinks about it.

Ocean was on the St. Cassian High School track team as a sprinter for a year before she joined the chamber choir and boy, was she fast. 

Ricky’s family has some really good family recipes, so every so often, the choir will all make their way to Ricky’s house for a delicious dinner made by his mother.

Mischa loves to play the boxing mini game on the original Wii Sports game. He’ll sometimes invite the other boys over to watch him box all the npc’s.

Constance and Jane once invented a game to see who could throw the most pencils into Ocean’s constantly opened book bag without her noticing. They eventually got the boys to join in and had a week long competition until one day, Ocean finally found out what was going on and dumped the hundreds of pencils the rest of the choir had managed to get in there onto the floor in the middle of English class.

Safe to say, Father Markus was not happy about their shenanigans.

I rewatched watched the Disney princess scenes from Wreck it Ralph 2 and I have some random thoughts on it because I’m bored. After all, they are the only part of the movie that people actually remember.

First thing I didn’t like about these scenes were how the writers just went with how the general public views of the princesses instead of showing who they actually are as characters. For example, they showed Belle as this book worm when she’s more than that. She a dreamer and stands up for what she believes in. Same thing with Ariel, they showed her as this girl who gave up her voice for legs and she loves singing. They should have clarified who the princesses were as characters and make fun of how the general public misunderstands them to be something they’re not.

When the princesses were going to attack Vanellope, why didn’t they have the princesses use some of the weapons that princesses actually used their own movies? Like Tiana used a book to hit Naveen when she first met him and Belle used a branch as a weapon to fight off the wolfs. They just had Tiana used a rolling pin because she cooks and Belle a book because she reads. It’s boring.

The comfy clothes the princesses wear are so boring. Most of them are wearing leggings and tank tops with generic call backs from their movie. I’ve seen more creative outfits from fan art. I think it would had been cute and interesting if they wore comfy outfits based on the fashion of the year their movies were released. Ariel would look good in an 80s inspired outfit. They would also make good doll sets as well.

It’s ironic how they had Rapunzel of all the princesses say “do people assume that you were saved because a man came along” when that line applies to her the most. Also, why the heck did she have the most lines of all the princesses? I’m not just saying this because I hate her. I’m just curious. Is she the director favorite or did Disney made them do this? I know it’s not because she the most popular princess there(Ariel and Elsa were right there) or that her VA is good (she sucks). Plus, Snow White should have been the one to say the line before they saved Ralph. Snow White was the first princess and the first movie Disney produced. Or Cinderella since she is the most iconic Disney princess of all time. What was the reason for pushing rapunzel so hard in this movie?

I’ll say this as many times as I can but Pocahontas should have not have been in here! They whitewashed her and she looks terrible. In fact, they whitewashed all of the princesses of color! They did this and didn’t even bother to give them more than 5 lines. The only one they “fixed” was Tiana and that was because there was so much backlash against her design. Even after they fixed her, Tiana still doesn’t look like herself. Don’t get me started on the hairstyle they gave her when she’s in her comfy outfit. The hair is lighter than her normal hair and is super curly. It’s nothing like the hairstyle that she has in her movie! Why couldn’t Disney hire a black artist to oversee Tiana’s design?

Another thing about the saving Ralph at the end. I wonder why they didn’t have Ariel do anything? All she did was swim in the water Moana summoned, did her iconic hair flip and sing.

20. A Weird Headcanon

What a perfect question to submit so I can talk about the Tenjo Cousin concept that Sorrel has me hooked on 👁👁

So one of my all time favorite headcanons to write fic and conversation for is how Yusaku and Kaito are actually related, they’re cousins now, I said so

A lot of it traces back to similarities in their characters, in their interpersonal relationships and friend groups, but also the fact that Yusaku uses Photon Thrasher in a duel against the Hanoi before he uncovers the Cyberse pile deck left by Ai

Like out of every card you could have used, Photon Thrasher, from an archetype we have canon confirmation for being created by dimensional science…………. interesting pick! I’m NOT gonna focus on it!!! (lying)

I love just finding a way to make them work as a family dynamic, but I also just want to give Yusaku a strong blood relative to go with the strong found family he’s already made, I like to make these loners feel a bit less lonely

One fic I’ve been working super hard on in hopes to publish is a post-canon AU that’s a focus on reincarnation and the power of human spirit and it’s mostly a project to answer my own lingering questions on certain aspects of Zexal canon, it’s very GoT/HoTD inspired and takes some of the pre-established history with warring kings but add slightly more politics, extra battles, and also dragons, but told through memories during some post canon conflict that ties it all together, one day I’ll actually make a post about it but for right now it remains a brainchild with 3 outlines and a 10k+ lore outline

Ok so, preview for part of the analysis essay but-

It’s actually kind of sad because most of Kaito’s pictured happiness in BOTH spin-offs he appears in is all very past tense. Like, beside his general demeanor and the obvious instances, Kaito’s color palettes are a lot brighter in both the time he spends in the family cabin and in Haruto’s baby days in Zexal and in the Arc V High School tournament flashbacks, he’s also essentially never shown frowning anytime the shows recall him before current canon. The way they utilize color with Kaito’s regression into himself is brilliant, he’s the brightest thing in the hallway of Heartland Tower when Haruto is taken from him, he’s one of brightest things in the rain when Chris leaves, but water is going to darken the colors he’s wearing, another thing to really show that this moment is the last thing that pushed him into being Kaito who we recognize

I want to do more color analysis for him in canon too but that’s not the question fjdhdhsbdb

Despite that, I’d actually argue Kaito’s happiest in the end of Zexal(and Arc V but that’s a slightly different subject, end of the tunnel is similar!!), because he endured and arguably survived everything that came to break him, moon duel pending since the Code basically said lmao to that.

He allowed himself to open back up after being cast aside and was rewarded for it because not only did he make new everlasting bonds, but all of these people who left him and left a such a heavy mark on him came back to him. They not only came back, they’re brought back to him apologetically after acknowledging the things they did to him.

Kaito doesn’t get to do much in Zexal II mostly because the show got a little messy with bringing in more cast and having a few plot threads that actually needed to be wrapped up that had to take priority, but IMO he does arguably get one of the best ends in Zexal, Arc V is a weird second element that’ll get its own discussion piece one day

Alrighty!  Time to get some hate!  Also, keep in mind these are my opinions.  You’re free to like, and feel however you want about whatever you want.  

Buuuut, time for some Temple Manga/Manhwa opinions.

Bleach and Naruto are both good at the start, however, they both suffer as the series goes on.  Kubo made it rather apparent that he didn’t even want to continue, this is a series that benefited from the color and action design from the anime as the manga itself is droll.  Everything is just a black ink blot, and he doesn’t do backgrounds.  Also he has the problem of same face.  It’s not good.  

Naruto I feel is better, but it’s still not a good series.  I will give Kishi that he’s a good artist though!  His backgrounds were very nice.  I was able to stomach through the end of both of these.  Alright story wise, but kind of meh feel wise.

In comparison O-parts Hunter or 666 Satan, did the Naruto thing but better.  It was done by his brother.  It didn’t feel drawn on, but the battles were fun and the story actually pretty sad.  You can most def see the inspiration from Naruto though.

Dragon Ball, oh god, the anime drags on way too much.  But the manga is a great read.  I think it’s a fun series, but it’s not great story wise.  

Hunter X Hunter is held back by the mangaka hard.  I know that he’s sickly, but there’s also the parts where he just doesn’t want to work most of the time.  Which ya know, fair.  It’s possible he doesn’t know what he wants to do with the series anymore, as it’s basically Hiatus x Hiatus.  Unfortunately, the Chimera Arc isn’t great, it takes a way a lto of the creativity that Nen had earlier and just goes into full on battle Arc.  It doesn’t help that the manga art turns into literal sketches at this point.

One Piece, I fucking LOVE One Piece, but it’s long.  And you have to be ready.  It can be a bit of a slow start up, however, Buggy had already drawn my interest from the start.  I do think people over hype how much oda has planned.  I do think he’s winging it a few times.  But it’s got a great feel to it, it’s probably one of the msot fun Manga, which I think is what it’s going for.  Battles, especially early in the time skip, are hard to read.  But what happens in them is amazing.  Also, I’d rather not talk about the anime, I’ll look up clips when I want to see things animated.  It’s just... episodes are drawn out way to damn long!  At least the filler is fun compared to Naruto’s.  Also Backgrounds 10/10 Oda.  This is on my to re=read list.

MHA, I enjoy it, but it hasn’t been enough to keep my attention.  I think it’s a good story, yet somehow, I was able to finish Bleach and Naruto, yet I don’t have the attention span for this series for whatever reason.  I’ll sometimes come back to it, so again, yeah not sure what’s the deal with that.  

Berserk is really good, I’m sad about the hiatus and what happened to Miura.  But his friend, the man who did Holy Land, I recommend Holy Land by the way, will be continuing it.  Though, their art styles are incredibly different so I imagine this is going to go vastly different.  One of the things I really enjoy, at least for what it was becoming, is something I enjoy about the more Recent god of War.  Someone who was ravaged by nothing but revenge, finally finding peace in themselves.

Komi Can’t Communicate, It’s cute as fuck.  But it peaked at the second year class.  Year 1 was super annoying, I hate Yamai.  That’s all.

Volcanic Age, this is a Murim styled martial arts Manhwa, so be warned.  It’s better than most!  Like, a lot better, the main character is reasonable, he doesn’t try to be the big bad man and tries to make everyone his enemy.  His knowledge actually feels well earned, compared to most of this type where they’re just gary stus.  Over all a good fun read.

Kingdom:  Fuuuuck, this manga is an emotional ride.  I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s historical fiction.  I enjoy this type of series, ancient warfare, as i was a huge fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms growing up.  I still have the novels!  I suggest giving it a read, it’s really good.

Mashle, this is the over powered MC kind, but unlike One Punch Man, it doesn’t just remove the main character until plot demands it.  It’s about him, because it’s more than just a gag that became popular and now doesn’t know what to do with itself.  It give sthe main character to learn more about things, be more than just himself.  And he’s just a damned good person, if not a bit...k well weird.

Helck and Verndio, these are togther because one is a sequel to the other, and the effects of helck are slowly leaking it.  It’s pretty godlike.  Probably one of my favorites of all time.  Really wonderfully done, and it doesn’t last for very long.  Helck is a, OP main character, but it’s a riveting story!  You get to learn more about their world, and actually how terrifying it is.  In the end, being a single lone powerful figure just isn’t enough.  I really recommend these two.

Solo Leveling, it’s cool.  Like, it has that power fantasy down pat way more than The Gamer.  I’ll give it that for sure.  If you’ve read fics you’ve read The Gamer ones, the Gamer itself isn’t great... by any means.  Solo Leveling is definitely better, but at the same time it falls into the same problem of not being great story wise.  If you’re just in it for fantastic fucking art, and great fights though, this is really good.

On the note of Gamer style though.  Infinite Leveling: Murim.  Another Murim styled, but with stats and leveling for the main character.  This is done well, like fantastically well.  The leveling system is harsh he doesn’t just gain stats after stats, and they’re kept within the people of the world he’s with.  Those around him are truely superior, and the stats feel more like a natural progression of hard work he’s doing to train.  Unlike msot of the Gamer styled manga/manhwa, this one feels like he has to truly work for it, from excercising to training.

Worn and Torn Newbie, this is a game Manhwa, but the main character is fun and such a damn bastard.  You just can’t help but love him.  This series has really good art, and it’s a fun read if you want to just see how things go.  I suggest this one as well.

Return of the lEgendary Spear Knight, Another Manhwa, this is a breath of fresh air!  This one is one of those rare instances where people straight up change when they’re shown the error of their ways.  The world is shown to not be black and white, and characters who appear to be bastards can actually become better people due to the difference of environment.

The Lazy Prince Becomes a Genius.  The title is misleading, but this Manhwa is really damn good.  Probably my favorite Manhwa at the time of this post!  There are some pacing issues, but over all it’s great, and i feel like I’m losing point.

Anyways!

Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun, this will be the last one!  This is just a better RWBy style story.  If you like RWBY you’ll probably like this one way more.  The author fleshes out the characters at a much better pace, they’re all able to do things even if they aren’t combatants, and unlike RWBY, they feel like genuine friends who have good teamwork.  Story is pretty basic, but it’s elevated by the fun cast of characters who are all incredibly charming.  The main character is also just fun, he gets better and better as the series goes on.  The Rival character, so to speak, makes Bakugo eat dust for sure.

Here, I will document all of my F/Os, and why I decided to wife them up. This is absolutely an excuse to yell about my blorbos, and you couldn’t stop me if you tried. All of this is MY OWN INTERPRETATION of the following characters. Canon can suck my dick :)

Ghiaccio

Ah, my original Best Boy! Husband Prime, if you will. I was barely into JJBA the first time I saw this idiot. I took one look at him and went “Yep, that’s him. He’s the one. That’s my next hyperfixation.” And I never looked back. Did I even know his name at the time? No. Did that stop me from thirsting after him? No. I needed that ice dick like I need air.

First of all, his design is amazing. I love the mostly monochrome design with the pops of red! It looks like he’s wearing converse, which is amazing in it of itself. He looks so cute in his glasses. And the hair? The hair is immaculate. Ghiaccio’s curls make me wanna run around my room banging my fists on the walls and floor and my desk. They look SO SOFT. If I ran my fingers through that man’s hair I would be RUINED. And I know, canonically, he’s always making ugly faces. But I think they’re so endearing. And when he’s not making gremlin faces, he’s so damn handsome.

Personality-wise? That man is the biggest tsundere and you CANNOT convince me otherwise. He is an enraged wet kitten hiding under a box. I am picking him up by the scruff of the neck and holding him as he takes swipes at me. Angey lil boy makes me go doki-doki. Ghiaccio strikes me as the type to be super cold when you first meet him, no pun intended. He doesn’t like to engage, and he doesn’t like to get close to too many people. But if you can get past the icy exterior, he can be so warm and sweet in his own way. His love language is definitely quality time. He’d just love to sit next to me and play games and bask in my presence.

Hol Horse

Can someone say HIMBO? First time I laid eyes on him, I knew. This man is a big fucking idiot. And the further I got into SDC, the more it solidified my opinion. Thing is, I love idiots, and I am also a bit of an idiot, so we’re a match made in heaven :)

Hol just looks so... dusty. A dusty crust man. A stinky ol’ cowboy. Probably a bit older, but has none of the wisdom that comes with age. He has 3 braincells. Two are dedicated to guns and horses, and the remaining one is always thinking about ME >:D His color scheme is really pleasant, and his pants? Exquisite. They may not be assless chaps, but I adore them anyway. And his weird double shirt thing he has going on is charming. And the FUCKING SIDEBURNS. AWOOOOOGA.

Overall, Hol is just so funny and charming. He may be a villain, but he’s a villain I adore. Nothing ever goes right for him, and he doesn’t exactly take it in stride, but he presses on nonetheless. Whatever antics he gets up to never fail to make me laugh. Love me a big goofy, dusty cowboy. I’m always thinking about the good western-style romance we could have. Going on long horse rides together, where one of us falls of and has to rescue the other. Dancing under the stars. Drinking on the front porch and making of fun of each other, dying of laughter. Deep down, Hol’s a big mischievous golden retriever. And he’s perfect.

Prosciutto

I blame @jellyluchi for this one. She exposed me to a hot old man, and I am left to wallow in the consequences of her actions. In all seriousness, I didn’t used to be that into him. I thought he was kinda mean. After consuming way too much fanfic and art of Prosciutto, I still think he’s mean, but now I’m SUPER INTO IT. He is so SEXY and MEAN and DOMINANT and I want him to STEP ON ME with his OLD MAN BOOTS.

I mean, have you SEEN HIM. He’s just so dapper!!! The colors of his suit? SEXY AS FUCK. The ascot? I want to pull it off him, and then I want him to tie my wrists with it. Or maybe tie his wrists with it. Whatever works. The deep V-neck is so fucking slutty, and I can do nothing but stare at those glorious boobies. I love his hair, too. Prosciutto’s hair is so unique. I’ve never seen anything like it, but it’s so pretty. 10/10 Old Man design.

Like I said before, this man is MEAN. He is NOT USED to being emotionally vulnerable, and covers it up by being a dick. He would definitely make me cry a couple times, but he’s so old and rich and emotionally stupid, he doesn’t know what to do. So he just... throws money at me. And I can laugh at how awkward he is trying to apologize. And when he’s not being mean and awkward, he’s so tender. And sweet. And cuddly. He’d wrap me up in his arms and lay me on his chest, telling me how beautiful he thinks I am. And if that’s not what I get in an IRL relationship, I DON’T WANT IT!!!!!!!

Cioccolata

Oh boy... this bitch... another man I got into because of fancontent. If you don’t know already, I am the biggest fattest slut for pet play. It’s in my top 3 kinks. And then I read a series of headcanons about being Cioccolata’s puppy, and it was all over for me. His is moldy and gross and a terrorist. But he’s my moldy gross terrorist.

Idfk what to say about his appearance, he’s just.. mold. His hair looks like mushroom, or perhaps seaweed. He’s hot weird green face paint. His eyes are funky. He wears half a thong. And yet... he just looks so fun. It’s a fun design. I wanna pull on his mushroom hair and call him Doctor~

Cioccolata is a nasty, terrible man. But my brand has sort of become simping for awful terrible men, so there’s really nothing new here. His voice is sexy in both sub and dub. He may be insane, but he’s sexy. And I love when a crazy insane evil guy has their Person(or Persons) that they’re soft for. Just... Cioccolata who’s so crazy and evil in public. He’s still kinda crazy and evil in private, but he’s more of a crackhead than anything. Random headpats. Staying up til 4am watching horror movies. Participating in whatever weird experiments he’s doing, and bantering about it. I love villain love <3

Secco

What’s better than ONE pet play-obsessed thot? TWO OF THEM, OF COURSE!!! I knew a little about Cio before watching Vento Aureo, but I had ZERO INFO about Secco. And as soon as I saw him running around like a feral possum and fucking shit up, I knew. That’s my soulmate.

Secco’s design is pretty simple, all things consider. You only ever see him in the suit, but the suit is honestly... kind of sexy. What little we can see of his face is big and fucked up. But I LOVE big fucked up eyes and hyper-detailed teeth. Like, sir? Sir??? Please bite me. I need it. Without the suit, I think he’s just a fairly skinny, pale dude. He’s probably got a lot of scars from Cio doing experimental surgery on him, but he’s a freak and he’s into it. I’m a proud part of the Blue Hair Secco Cult. He has indigo hair and it’s messy and curly and falls down his neck and it’s FUCKING HOT.

I love the duality of “acting as a man’s dog” and “striving to be better and important”. He’s a fucked up little guy. He’s feral and loves to go crazy and tear shit apart. But he’s really smart in his own right, and probably has trouble articulating it, cuz he’s so used to being a dog. But he loves letting go and being a little creature. I’d love to just lose all my inhibitions and go batshit with him. I wanna wrestle with all night long, and get dirty in the garden. He loves to do stuff with his hands. But he’s also happy to just sit next to each other and draw. And I love that.

Hazamada is literally juts Some Goth. He looks like a wet greasy napkin. Hasn’t slept in his entire life. Spends all his time watching anime and drawing fucked-up questionable shit. But, y’know? That’s part of his charm. I love the sleek glossy black hair. His coat looks badass, and his stand is super cool. There’s not much to his design, but I love it all the same. Dumbass Edgy Alt Hazamada supremacy.

He’s just so weird and unhinged. We didn’t get a lot of him in the series, and what little we got was rather violent. But we love that for him. Love me a fucked up little guy. Fucked up little weeb men own my heart. I HC him to be kind of depressed, and with deep-seated anger issues from loneliness. He needs a hug. Therapy, mostly, but also a hug. And I am happy to hug him and inhale the smell of paper and ink. I just know he’s an artist. Draw a lot of surrealist art, and scenes from his favorite anime series. I’d love to sit and watch him draw and talk about nothing for hours. And afterwards, we can binge watch his favorite series, and I can watch how his eyes light up at the climactic scenes.

EIRIAN, ANATA NO EIIIIIRIAAAAAAN!!!! God, I loved Miki from the first episode he showed up in. He’s so weird. And so very Gender. Clueless Non-Human is one of my favorite tropes. Sometimes he’s a little awkward, but aren’t we all? And I would absolutely eat the ice cream made from his fingers.

LOOK. AT. THIS. MAN. He is TOO DAMN PRETTY. The hair. The eyes. The nose ring connected to his elegant ears. I could swoon right now. All the charms on his outfit are so well-designed, and I’ve taken the time to study each of them. My favorite flavor of Miki is in the Super Fly episode where his hair is all curly. HE IS JUST. SO. PRETTYYY!!!!!!

And oh my God, he’s adorable. He’s so sweet and awkward. He just wants to make friends and do the right thing. He’s not quite sure how to act just yet, but he’s doing his best. Whatever he does, he puts his whole heart into, and I admire him. I could teach him so many things and take him so many places. Get him a milkshake. Stargaze with him. Tell him about Earth constellations while he tells me about the stars he recognizes. Pet dogs with him. I want to show him everything and watch him grow.

Hehe... well, I did say I liked terrible men, didn’t I? But I’m a slut for a redemption arc, and I WILL make it happen. WATCH ME. I honestly fell for him watching the live-action DIU movie(which you should totally watch btw). Not because I like Actor Keicho. I actually think he looks kinda funny. But that got me thinking about how cool manga and anime Keicho were. And, well, now I love him. So that’s that.

His design actually isn’t all that cool to me. He looks like a dork. But who’s gonna teach him how to dress? His dead mom? His weird goblin of a dad? It’s not his fault he looks like a goober. The ‘BADCO’ logo on his collar is a nice touch, though. Oh, and DON’T get me started on the hair. His hair is a disaster. Wtf is it even supposed to be??? Keicho. Sweetheart. Love of my life. Please go outside. Look at a normal person. DO YOUR DAMN HAIR LIKE A REGULAR GUY.

Keicho’s personality shown in the series isn’t what really draws me too him. It’s the potential hidden in that personality. Imagine if he got to live and had to deal with the grief of all the death he’s caused. And knowing that there’s still part of his dad left in what DIO created of him. He thinks he’s a monster, and perhaps he is. But he doesn’t have to stay that way. He needs a good mix of comfort for his mental and emotional wounds, and a kick in the ass for his arrogance and stubbornness. But I think he could come back. I’d hold his hand until he could walk confidently on his own, and even after that.

Happy Heroes live action TV series 《不是吧！ 我变成超人了》 (”No Way! I’ve Become A Superhero”) began filming today! They’ve revealed cast for the main 5 + Doctor Zhai + Big&Little Guai.

They look good! I think they look really good! I am in love with how even though they’re just generic normal kids, no fancy hair colors, all wearing the same school uniform - even so, I can still look at them and TELL which character they’re supposed to be! For someone as faceblind as me that’s incredible! I’m so impressed how they translated the super cartoonish designs! And they look super cute! (I think my only critique is that Kai should have a bigger smile, he’s Happy after all.) (They didn’t post nice pics for Doc and the Guais but took a look at their Weibos, should be fun! Doc’s actor’s Weibo being full of like glamour pics and a shirtless pic im 🤣 )

And fitting the new premise (I assume they’re changing things so they’re just ordinary kids at an ordinary school before getting powers - a more “generic” setup but that’s ok, it’s like an AU) we also get “human” names for them!

Masamune Kadoya,,...dear god…

I would kiss goodnight every character in this show and tuck them neatly into bed, but I would not do the same for Masamune. Instead I would fling him into the cold ocean with a comically large slingshot. (He is my favorite character)

When i watched the show when i was little i paid no attention to this guy. He was just kinda there. I was more focused on Tsubasa lmao he’s probably the reason why im bi and enby today. I got back into Beyblade years later and watched it SPECIFICALLY for Tsubasa. 

HOWEVERR when i rewatched the show, Masamune stuck out to me. I found him annoying but like in a funny way. Just a silly guy. mans got one braincell. In a lot of ways i relate to his role in friend groups as the dumb or just generally brain-scattered guy of the group. The way he is perceived...haha...oh no.....people irl also perceive me that way sometimes...

I think everything started going downhill when I made a comment to myself “oddly specific, but hey that guy’s got a similar skin-tone to me haha cool what if he’s half filo” and then. yeah. 

I like Masamune’s character and how he evolved over the series, and though he’s still his dumb self in Metal Fury i believe he had matured some. Him leaving Toby and Zeo at the beginning of Metal Masters was dumb as shit and he shouldn’t have done it, but at the end of the day he was just a kid who thought fulfilling a shared goal would cheer his friend up, and he worked his best to achieve it. He’s not perfect at all and fails a lot, gets really upset about it and mopes, but he always gets back up and tries again. 

I like how the shows didn’t throw him plot armor, they made him more ?realistic? Than some other characters. His losses taught him lessons and he moved forward from them. I genuinely think Masamune is one of the most realistic characters out there.

I love his dynamics with other characters, i think they’re very funny. I always thought of Ginga and Masamune as kinda twin brothers, both with horse beys and both silly guys. There’s a couple scenes and screenshots of Masamune and Yu and i like to think they have a mischievous older brother and younger brother dynamic, whilst Tsubasa is the oldest and is the victim of all their pranks. 

Masamune and King’s dynamic is…obviously my favorite…lmao. They lift each other up and bring out the best in each other. I believe Masamune’s story in the show didn’t end at Metal Masters, but ended at Metal Fury with King. The scenes they have together are just so :(( <3 THERE’S NOOOOO WAY THE SHOW WRITERS DIDN’T DO THAT SHIT ON PURPOSE….I SEE YOU !!

Another thing, Masamune has no drip. THIS BITCH HAS NOOOO DRIP he is the most dripless character in the show.. What the fuck are you wearing BRO. but it looks super comfortable so…maybe it’s ok…

At this moment I do not have very much to say about him?? My brain hasn’t attached to him yet but his turn will probably be soon…

I love him in Metal Fusion he was so silly. His character design is sooo cute i love the colors. And shout out to Hani for relating him to Fennec Foxes, u r so right.

Wasted potential in Metal Masters and Fury fr. Would have been nicer if Metal Masters had more teams competing and that there would be more battles for Yuu to grow. IN METAL FURY HE MADE LIBRA A FORCE FIELD???? AND THEY SHOWED IT LIKE ONCE?? BRUH. 

I love his brotherly Dynamic with Tsubasa and I love his friendship with Tithi. They are besties fr.

I love women. I am not immune to women. She is so pretty. And y’know what that’s all i need. 

I love her design ! she is so fun to draw !! And I find her very funny haha.

I believe the Garcias in general are deeper than they seem. Whilst they are the stereotypical villains that do bad things because of their situations, i feel like they in general can be built up upon and there are things that can be interpreted from them.

Summer 2022 Anime

Here’s what I’m watching:

Prince of Tennis has a new season. I don’t even know what they’re calling it now. Shin Prince of Tennis? Prince of Tennis 2? No idea. PoT has a very special place in my heart, as it’s the show that introduced me to sports anime and stole my heart back in the very early 2000‘s. The plot summary doesn’t really matter at this point. What does matter is how absolutely batshit insane this series is. Whenever I talk about new sports anime, I rate how realistic they are on a scale of “Very Realistic” to “Prince of Tennis”. To enjoy this series, you have to go into it with a certain mindset, or the sheer number of totally bonkers scenes will overwhelm you. You have to go into it thinking of this not as a sports anime about tennis, but as a fantasy series about super powered beings using their incredible powers to play tennis instead of being super heroes. There are players who can create literal black holes while on the court. There are guys who play tennis on horseback, in the middle of the street in Australia after their horse kicks a pack of dogs’ asses for attacking a cute schoolgirl (that sentence was almost painful to write but I assure you I didn’t exaggerate a single word). There are “middle school” players who look like buff forty year old men. Matches often end with one or more players covered in bloody wounds. I can’t stress enough how utterly ridiculous this show is. And the fact that it takes itself seriously, that it does all this with a straight face, makes it hilarious beyond words. But the show is so much fun! The art is great, with extremely varied character designs. This is an accomplishment, considering just how many characters there are. There’s like, a billion of them by now. I’ve watched every episode, movie, ova, special, etc. and I still forget about half of these characters in the long stretches between seasons. The music, as always, is fantastic, with my favorite opening theme of the season and my second favorite ending theme. The tennis matches, wild and crazy as they are, never fail to be exciting. If you can handle a little DBZ in your sports anime, definitely give it a watch.

Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting is an adorable gem that I initially passed on the first week it aired. But after hearing good things about it, I gave it a try. The series follows a violent and reckless yakuza thug named Kirishima, notorious for his brutality, who is given a specific job by his yakuza boss in an attempt calm him down a bit: become the primary babysitter for the boss’s young daughter Yaeka, an adorable but shy and withdrawn little girl. The expectation with this sort of plotline is that Kirishima will be woefully inept at this job and there will be much humor at his expense as he struggles to learn how to care for a child and discover his “softer side”. Interestingly, the series takes a different approach to the story. Kirishima is in fact very good at taking care of Yaeka, with only a few very small hiccups along the way (he’s not very good at fixing her hair, and the scene of him practicing on his long-haired yakuza subordinate is golden). Kirishima has been with this family since before Yaeka was born, so he’s known her since birth. He has a natural warm, big brotherly air about him when he’s with her. This allows the show to focus more on the sweet or sad emotional moments of the story rather than being a straight up comedy. There are funny moments, of course, but there are even more touching scenes displaying just how much this family means to Kirishima, as well as Yaeka dealing with the fact that her mother has been in a coma for (presumably) a few years. The art is lovely, with a gentle, almost pastel quality to the colors. Recommended.

Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys! is a very colorful fictional take on the Shinsengumi. I’ve always loved stories about the Shinsengumi (a real historical group) so of course I’m watching this. In this particular anime, all of the higher ranking Shinsengumi members, save one, are wiped out by masked enemies wielding strange, glowing swords. The lone survivor (Toudo Heisuke) decides to keep the Shinsengumi together by replacing the dead members with criminals who were on their way to be executed, offering them a second chance at life if they’ll help him track down the masked enemies and avenge his fallen comrades. Of course they agree (since the alternative is immediate death) and are each given a new name and the sword of the Shinsengumi member they’re replacing. While the premise is somewhat grim, the show is actually lively and energetic, with bright, colorful art and catchy music. They color-coded characters are fun, with a wide range of personalities (there’s even a woman, possibly the best sword fighter among them). Though the series does touch on some serious and even dark themes (domestic abuse, torture, etc.), it maintains an upbeat feel overall. Recommended if you like samurai action that’s not overly serious but not exactly a comedy either.

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is a strange show. The premise isn’t too out of the ordinary: various people around Japan find out they’re “Beast Knights”, people who can bond with various talking animals that give them special powers so that they can protect a powerful princess, who in turn can protect the planet from monsters called Golems and the Mage that controls them. Visible only to these special chosen people is an enormous hammer in the sky aimed at the earth itself. The story focuses on Yuuhi, the “lizard Knight”, initially one of the weakest among the Knights. Yuuhi wants nothing to do with any of this, because he just doesn’t give a shit about, well, anything. The world can go to hell for all he cares. He changes his mind, however, after meeting the princess, a very plucky teenager named Samidare who can one-punch monsters to death, and finding out that she only wants to save the planet so that she can then destroy it herself. This is where the series starts to deviate from the typical formula, as Yuuhi and Samidare are dead serious about destroying the earth, and they have to gather the other Beast Knights to help fight off the Mage and his Golems while knowing full well that they’ll eventually have to kill those other Knights to accomplish their true goal. So yeah, a strange but highly interesting setup. The problem is that the animation is almost laughably bad. The art could still be saved if the design work was interesting, but it’s bland and conventional. The whole visual aspect of the show is just terrible. This means you have to watch the series for the story alone. I’m not sure how strongly I can recommend it. I’ve heard that the manga is way better, so I’ll probably look into it after the anime finishes. As it stands, the show is frustrating to watch. There’s a great story being held down by bad art, to the point that it’s almost tragic. I’m still watching, because I’m invested at this point, but I’m guessing the series will just be a bad memory once I start the manga.

my final opinion on Fashion Dreamer as a devoted fan of style savvy

so as my initial deep disappointment started wearing off, i realised that it was unfair of me to immediately compare Fashion Dreamer to the style savvy series so harshly because they are simply not the same! Fashion Dreamer IS co developed by synsophia and it IS a game that revolves around fashion, but otherwise, they’re two completely different games.

you dont have a boutique to run, you dont have any customers to assist, you cant make connections with people and gradually make a name for yourself, you cant improve the community in the setting you live in etc etc. your just an influencer doing vague fashion related tasks and irl “influencer” would do.

tl;dr once i separated the two and started to see Fashion Dreamer as its own game instead a style savvy without any charm i started to really enjoy it for what it is

there’s no real tangible story here at all, only faint goals to achieve very early game and then thats it, and its obvious that they were never going for that in the first place because this isn't style savvy! its a completely new game that only has SynSophia working on in collaboration with another company. im sure if nintendo didn't decline SynSophia's request for another style savvy game on the switch this im sure this conversation would not exist but unfortunately, they did, and now we only have Fashion Dreamer, which serves as a descendant of a successor to the style savvy games.

now that i've managed to separate Fashion Dreamer and style savvy as two completely different games i want to talk about what i actually /like/ about Fashion Dreamer. i was super super disappointed my first time playing not only because i immediately held it to exact same standards as a style savvy game, but also because by itself it felt quite unfinished.

with my very first time playing i felt like after 2 hours or so i had already seen all the game had to offer. and while i wasn’t wrong and the gameplay just had to grow on me, still i wasn’t all that motivated with the goals you had to complete or the rewards it gave you. it also doesn’t help that there isn’t anything all that challenging about creating lookits for other muses, or any way to fail them.

yes, you have to create lookits to get epoints to make more clothes for your brand and level up so you can unlock even more clothes for your brand but ah, that part isnt really all that impressing. its just fine

i can appreciate all the effort that went into the clothes making process though, that’s definitely the most impressive part of this game. i’d say its the most impressive thing out of all the fashion games ive ever played. i have soo much fun making my own clothes! as an artist i feel like my creativity has no limits and i can literally make whatever i want, however i imagine it. for me, this one amazing feature alone is enough to carry the rest of the games mediocrity.

once i have an idea for a piece of clothing i think would look nice, i can just take out FD and create what i thought of immediately. even though i forgot about it for so long, for a brief period as an adolescent i really really wanted to be fashion designer and this feature reminded me of my silly wish and made me love it all the more

i also like the photo egg stuff, the poses are all super cute and i like the expressions the muses make. im very glad that they put in a scrapbook feature that allows you to save specific ensembles (that and no way to filter clothes by color were probably my biggest complaint) i already have a bunch of outfits saved in my notebooks that i absolutely adore. i do wish they were prettier backgrounds for notebooks though

and the event stuff.. is just fine. it's not the worst thing in the world, i enjoy creating outfits for character or player muses out of all but it also isnt that fun. a little grindy and annoying, but just fine. if this game had a story or plotline to follow i think i would be able to enjoy it alot more maybe? running around cocoons doing vague influencer-like tasks just isnt all that engaging for me.

the last thing i'd like to say about FD is that i actually do get happy when ppl like my stuff. like wow, they actually like my product! it does make me kinda feel like i do have a semi successful brand that people are paying attention to. ofc most of my reasons for designing clothes is because i was inspired too, but getting those fake like notifications make me want to display them just in case others would like them too.

in conclusion, all of this to say what exactly?? i enjoy Fashion Dreamer now! i like it quite a lot, i find it enjoyable and satisfying, and it scratches those fashion related itches ive been having but didn't know how to make them go away. i really love being able to create clothes exactly how i imagine them, and i enjoy being able to dress my oc's up so prettily and accurately. i also really enjoy the overall art direction of this game, the backgrounds really caught my eye and they all stand out individually in my mind.

im not 100% sure but i think FD is popular in japan? which makes me happy because i know overseas and english speaking fans of style savvy really dislike this game, especially upon initial release. i was one of them but now i can say i dont hate this game at all anymore. once i stopped comparing everything to style savvy, for what it is, is just fine. the reason why i made this long ass post in the first place was because FD already gets SOO much hate online from everyone, and i think its a little unwarranted. if this me talking about everything i dislike about FD this post would probably be much longer lmao, but i didnt want to add to all the flack it gets. if you stopped playing after a few hours like i did i'd say its definitely worth a second chance! just see it for what it is and you'll have a much better time
