Day 31: Free Day
Well. I had this whole amnesia arc inspired edit compilation for today buuut hellsite ruined the quality of it sooo enjoy a practice convo I wrote while brainstorming for the dickroy flower shop/tattoo shop fic.
Roy: Let me guess… you like me but my kid's a deal-breaker for you.
Dick: What's Lian got to do with anything?
Roy: It's got everything to do with everything. I've played this game before, Dick. I've played it over and over. I can’t even blame people because I used to be the same way before I had Lian. Committing to a fling or a relationship is one thing, committing to a kid is a whole other ballpark, and most people aren’t up to bat.
Dick: Sounds like you’re chucking the bat at the dugout before even giving me a chance to swing.
Roy: You’ve gotta understand, I have to be careful who I hand the bat to. If Lian gets attached to people and then they leave… I don’t want to hurt her like that.
Dick: Has it happened before?
Roy: With a girl I used to be in love with. She loved Lian, and Lian loved her, but she freaked when Lian started thinking of her as a mom figure. She broke up with me not too long after that. Lian was upset about it for weeks.
Dick: That’s tough for a kid to deal with.
Roy: And that’s why I don’t want a repeat performance.

Small pattern I noticed with the power hours is that it starts off semi normal before getting emotional in the middle [either sad or angry]. But mainly they all end with a "well it be like that sometimes" vibe
Not Perfect- "It's not perfect, but it's mine"
Chonny's Inferno- "The bright, white islands high would get the boring ones excited, but trust me, man, you wouldn't like it"
Memento Mori: the most important thing in the world- "So if you only have one chance, you ought to try your best to live as you'd like. One day, you're going to die."
Idk if its intentional but I find it neat

I would really like it if the hive mind could move away from the idea that the exception disproves the rule every time
there's such a thing as statistical distribution, the species is made up of unique individuals that nevertheless aggregate into identifiable trends, you can have something be true of most or virtually all people and nevertheless find exceptions. This runs the gamut from effective medical treatments, to the kinds of media people like, to gender roles and expressions, all kinds of things
This Procrustean effort to force everyone to conform to the standard and/or the delusion that the standard is just an axiomatic lie that can be tossed out on a whim are both ridiculous, you can have rules of thumb and broad heuristics that allow for all kinds of exceptions without being falsehoods

Oh... I've finally gotten back around to reviewing/relearning Latin, and verb forms are probably the thing I struggle the most with/need to review the most urgently. So I...
I'm using this as a checklist... the ones with the periods are the ones I Definitely Remember And Could Do In My Sleep* and the others I either have not quizzed myself on yet or just... know that I won't be able to do them.
How did I KNOW all of these??? At any point???
To be fair, I never knew the subjunctive all that well (I mainly went off of, like... "I know indicative verbs and this sure doesn't look like one!"), but... this makes me so sad. I've forgotten so much.
And that's not even getting into participles and infinitives. Imperatives are fine, probably.
I think I'll be good on prepositions and ablative uses with just a little bit of review, but the various subjunctive uses are going to be a pain in the ass to learn/relearn. (To be honest, that's another case of learning more than relearning. I was able to guess/use context in class, but I'd like to also actually know them well.)
*There's the caveat of... my first-person singular future active indicative of "superāre." For which I wrote "superam." Which I guess is third conjugation rules? Or third-io? I don't remember? I guess it's good that I vaguely remember conjugation rules from a different conjugation, but... help.

well the audition process is like any other audition for the most part. (i sent my 5050 audition online, their company is called attrakt and theyve been in entertainment for a while but they never debut a group before) ive only been to a few live ones. fnc and hybe geffen. hybes had us sign a nda though (not that people honored it??? it was rlly long and scary basically saying they were making a tv program and if you get accepted ((which i didnt)) you cant tell the public what the production team tells you to do) theres a panel of judges. 3 for hybe 2 for fnc and they have groups of 5 singers or dancers come in. i auditioned for singing both times and basically when you arrive you have a check in sheet then you get a number sticker. after that the judges set up you mingle with other auditinees and they call in a group of singers then dancers then singers then dance again etc. hybe's judges were two guys one woman who was really sweet and tried so hard not to be intimidating always smiling and nodding. they also had a camera man and a boom mic operator, im guessing for that reality show they havent made yet. and you had to say your name, ethnicity, and age (i said my nationality like a idiot) and i added in the title of the song i was singing then i gave a lackluster audition (lmao) however i will add both companies let people go overtime for their auditions despite saying to prepare one verse and chorus. ANDDD both said you can only audition for either vocals or dance but the judges like people who do both, theyre usually the ones who get held back.
OMG HI THANK YOU!! oh ok so it's like a general style audition, that makes a lot of sense. also omg that nda??????? and specifically that you're not allowed to say anything about what the production team tell you to do?????????? like we all know the shows are scripted but still......
