Behind the Scenes - The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End (Part 24)
Excerpt from Benjamin Cook’s set report for the Radio Times:
As the director calls, “Cut!” Julian Bleach [Davros], in his creepiest Davros voice, utters the immortal words “Am I bovvered?!” The set breaks into applause.
“After Julian said that,” reveals Catherine Tate later, “he came up to me, really apologetic. He said, ‘I’m so, so sorry.’ ‘Honestly, it’s fine,’ I said. ‘It was very funny.’ Poor Julian was really worried.”
Although Russell T. Davies’s favorite elements of a Doctor Who series finale are “the size and the scale, and the fun of it all, really,” he says, “this series belongs to the Doctor and Donna. For all the spectacle, it’s about character, in the end. It’s an honour to write dialogue for David and Catherine.”
“It’s heartbreaking,” adds Tate. “Russell’s scripts are so clever, but really affecting. The repercussions of what Davros has done, and [what that means] for the Doctor’s companions, are huge and far-reaching. It’s a brave way to end the series.

Ok so this is random but something I kinda wanted to see… or hopefully COULD still see is the plaid princes and pastel princesses interacting with each other outside of their couples? Sibling-in-law bonding...
Give me Blaine and Lorena discussing some in depth fighting techniques!! Gwen showing Lance how to bake!!! Maria quietly intimidating Frederick....... and Jamie being a cool brother in law!!
They will never know the high-stakes adrenaline of running to the fridge/bathroom/bedroom during an add break, then have the beckoning call of a sibling screaming "ITS ON!" to send you hurtling over furniture to get back in time.
Those were the days.
They'll also never know the annoying beauty of arguing with your sibling about the movie, while simultaneously saving the snacks while impatiently waiting for the adds to end.
I miss them. I miss these days. I miss the big discussions about whether there would be the three versions of Spider-Man live action.
And we need to talk about Andrew Garfield being the only one able to free his hands because he was an assertive king when his Spidey suit was being made (in 2010/11).
