#nezha reborn #LOOK AT HIM he is literally just... a kid...... looking for some comfort from his dad............#it's about to be 0 days since our last nonsensical overly emotional post about li yunxiang #it was never that lyx didn't care about what his father thought or didn't want for his approval because he does want it. he does care.#it was just something he accepted he wouldn't have as long as he continue to choose to do what he thought was the right thing #and the 'right thing' was important enough to him to give up on his dad's support #which says something about how important the 'right thing' is to lyx #and up till now it was fine because it affected no one but him #(and if you think about it it is kind of a very immature and idealistic mindset #because if he had gotten caught doing his little smuggling and property destruction it 100% would have affected his family #but i like that i think it's part of his character.. anyway....)#but now his refusal to do what his dad wanted him to do - get a normal job and keep his head down - is like. actively hurting his family #and altho it was the right thing and he couldn't have predicted that ao bing would go completely nuclear #or that the de group would send assassins after him because of the whole reincarnation business #you could say that kasha and li jinxiang's injuries are a direct result of him refusing to just roll over and sell ao bing his motorcycle #(which i think is exactly what ljx was gonna say before he got bodied by that monster truck lol)#and in this moment when he has effectively just put 2 of the people closest to him in the hospital #i think he can't help but look for a little comfort from his dad because he feels so so guilty and confused and upset #but he gets that door shut in his face and he's reminded that he had chosen to not have that #that he had made choices that led to this being the reality of his relationship with his dad. and he is supposed to be ok with that #and then he falls back on his anger and the moment is sort of over but like #bro... at this point li yunxiang has no one bro....#L + ratio + kasha and brother in the hospital + dad can't even look at you + dead mom + separated from extended family when you fled the wa #+ no close friends your own age #and it makes me sad because lyx must have been pretty close to his dad when he was little #i think this + the moment where he's outside the door listening to his dad talk #just fuels the miasma of guilt #guilt over his own actions. guilt over nezha's actions. questioning if he is or ever was making the right choices #but also it's not about any of that it's just about how huge and wet his eyes look here amen

not Midnight Mass Erin and Riley talking about their different visions of death and the afterlife, seemingly not realizing that they were using very different words to describe exactly the same thing, and making me openly cry at my desk while doing so

#death is where you are not alone and the bad thing never happened #i committed to only watching two episodes today but i kinda wanna just binge it all #this show. the writing is SO GOOD #having Riley explain what he believes death will be like - the firing and neurons and the microbiome continuing to feast on your meat -#in such BEAUTIFUL and poetic language! with such reverence! and hope!#one of the few (only?) times I've seen someone describe the oblivion of a 'godless' death with such beauty and hope #(without being suicidal - the fact that they could easily have written riley as suicidal but that option was literally never on the table)#vs the childlike simplicity of Erin's description of an unborn baby returning to heaven to be loved #the thing she didnt say but was clearly between the lines - that the baby came to save her and thats all it did. then it returned home #and the fact that both of their visions were so... simplistic. idealized #riley's death wouldn't restore the world to the state it was before he lived. his atoms don't go to join the stars #and he knows that but it's poetry. it's the idealization. that's the same as what imagining erin's unborn baby beloved by all is #death is all your wildest dreams coming true but somewhere far away where you cant touch it now #midnight mass

i wanna go back to the days where i wrote chapters and oneshots that were less than 1-2k words

#screaming crying shouting #i just started writing the horror story after planning everything out (bc i have learned from my mistakes)#and im only halfway through my notes for chapter 1 and ive written 4k words and i dont know hOW #i think i just get upset and frustrated bc longer projects stress me out for a couple of reasons #and i was trying to keep this story to around 6 chapters and i dont know if i can do that if my word count continues at this rate sdkjfnsdj #longer stories stress me out bc im always worried about losing the thread of the story and it turning into something meandering #and i worry that it will become less engaging and no one will like it or want to read it and it will be BAD #and also im very much someone who just wants to get to the end of the story whether im reading or watching something or writing it myself #which is why i binge all media immediately but when its my writing and i realize its going to take a while to finish in my head i go #'OH NO'#bc im so scared that im going to lose motivation and not finish the story and that is also a huge fear for me bc then #i wont be able to move onto the next project bc ill hate myself for abandoning another and UGH #in reality this is not a big deal but i wanted to whine bc all ive written is setup and i want to get to the spooky #my need for immediate gratification strikes again #writing #min says #min muses

Sometimes I see myself in the mirror and think 'it looks like I've lost weight!' but then in the same day I can see myself and think I've gained

#miranda talking shit #I cant rightfully judge myself like i cant tell unless i have numbers to go by #And i dont... I dont own an scale /:#I just know last time i did weight myself was about a year ago and then i was like 96kg which is as bif as ive been I believe #But after that i did continue to binge for a while so i may have gotten to 100 tbh #Now ive been monitoring my calories for about 7 months? Usually stay in 1700-1800 calories some days i go under #And once every other week or so i go over #If i have lost weight i cant say its been in the best or correct way but at least better than when i had my starvation year in 2015-2016 #Im kinda curious though if i have and how much or if I'm just imaging it #I cant tell bc of my messed of self image. When i was heavily undereating for a year i didnt realize #I had lost weight until my sister pointed out that I looked thinner/good and then i got weighted and i was like 70kg which is considered #Normap for people my height but i have never before then been in the normal weight range always been at least 10kg over the line #My weight and me will probably never be friends. Can say feom experience losing my extra weight and being 'thinner' didnt help #Me at all and i still hated to see myself/thought i was fat. Now i have an improved self-image but i also have my doubts #If I'd actually feel more confident losing weight. Bc i cant 'see it' i just feel big/huge #Idk where im going with this all as usual but yeah just ranting i guess

I'm curious, how did you first discover Fortuna?

oooo this is interesting..

i first saw a glimpse of fortuna somewhere in 2017/2018 with animation meme called "funfunfun" containing hermes while i was just searching the animation meme, i was kinda a huge fan of tv heads [i still am!!] and i was really happy to see this giraffe tv making random ass expressions. i went through the person's yt channel and proceeded to binge watch ANY animation memes that contained hermes just because "hes a tv head and tv heads are really cool super cool" or just like animation memes that had tv heads in general, there was also an animation meme about the creator of fortuna too! i didnt really know hermes was from a series i was just here to see him do random shit on my glowing rectangle.

a few years pass by, i forget that hermes existed, going to a yt playlist containing tv head animation memes just to cure the nostalgia of seeing them alot back when i was younger, THEN i saw him again, recognising him and being like "OMG I REMBER HIM!!", on one of the descriptions of the other animation meme made by a different creator. i saw the link to go and read fortuna somewhere in late 2022/early 2023, reading the old vers before i saw the newer vers and THEN i began reading that. til this day i am very invested in this media

tldr:

found hermes from an animation meme back at 2017/2018, enjoying it but didnt interact with the webcomic itself. few years pass i then recognise him and then start to realise hes from a webcomic, and start reading it from a link i found from another yt animation meme.

ok i think its been long enough. but the big bang theory hating of a few years ago caught me off guard. like yes i understand its not good. but people being like who was this made for. uhm. people who get home late and eat dinner at 8 and need something to watch on da television. I'm still awake and not tired so I was just gonna keep going until I am too tired to continue (then continue when I wake up) or I just stay up and continue to finish the season all in one go.

Most likely gonna end up too tired to continue at some point, probably around 4 or 5 am with how I am right now. So wherever I end up in the show then is when I take a small break to sleep and then continue when I wake up.
