#replies#because they dont. talk about shit. they dont talk about any of their shit in fact they dont talk at all#the fact we never see them have a direct conversation at any point during the story = their communication problems#it just fills me with powerful 'i can fix them' energy. not for the sake of the relationship itself as some sacrosant thing#in fact i think their should be more narratives about relationships not working out and that being a good thing in the long run#but with these guys its like... their shit is unresolved and they seem pretty important to eachother even tho theres problems#you cant show me whatever the hell is going on with BGD and not have me be like 'hold on a second'#the hope heart aspect stuff kiiind of drives me wild actually#anyway yeah i was initially uninterested in this ship for a lot of reasons but now im really invested in it being an avenue for growth#also its really fucking funny lets not forget that#also on the subject of things not happening like he scripted remember when jake climbed up onto a wall#to make the kiss more dramatic#and later roxy is like 'why did he do that'#like jake was very much contributing to the way that moment was framed lol#i think jake also has an aversion to vulnerability but its in a 'i watch too many blockbusters' kind of way#whereas dirk has like a full on pseudo-intellectual commitment to stoicism as an ideology
