A one-act play about an autofictious version of me conducting a seance to talk to the grandfather I never met. I have to learn Turkish to communicate with the ghost (apparently Greek won’t cut it) and I’m rushing to learn Turkish until the seance-holder calls me like yeah we gotta do this today I’m leaving for Ptown tomorrow so it’s just me and the ghost of my short, egg-like grandfather staring at each other in silence until I’m like ‘üzgünüm dede, Türkçe çok zor’ [with supertitles] and he looks at me and says ‘aptal mısın?’ [without supertitles] and then the play ends
the only way I can read Standards of Care 8 (SOC-8) without trailing off every 12.457 seconds is if I pronounce SOC as “sock” and go “haha, sock” and then suddenly I can read a scientific paper again
