ok hello i have found that i have no choice but to introduce you to my "divorced zukka but slightly to the left" headcanon for a modern au. basically, a pre-transitioned zuko and sokka have a one night stand at the end of their senior year of high school, and never speak again. roughly six years later, sokka is starting his job at an elementary school (not a classroom teacher, like technology or something) and meets izumi, who is so sweet and cute and i swear thats the face katara makes when she's annoyed, and one day happens to see her dad pick up and huh he looks and AWFUL lot like that person i went to high school with and OH GOD some quick math brings an idea to mind.

So sokka attempts to confront zuko who is very much NOPE DO NOT TALK TO ME, but finally breaks down after a series of shenanigans that def do not involve mild stalking. but only to admit that yes, izumi is sokka's biological daughter, and would like to leave their interactions at that, except sokka has NO interest in SIMPLY leaving it at that because!!! he has a kid!!! that he knew nothing about!!! for six years!!!

zuko very much would like to continue living his life without sokka bc being a single young parent is hard enough but he has a good routine and good relationship with his daughter and he doesnt need this, this, SPERM DONOR to just come in here and mess everything up! the guy hasnt been there the last six years, there is absolutely no reason for his to get involved now!! BUT sokka absolutely would have been there if zuko had only TOLD HIM, but how was ZUKO supposed to know that, and did zuko really think so little of him?? except it was a one night stand and zuko didnt even realize he was a boy until right after and he originally wasnt even planning to keep izumi, and HOW could he have just given up their CHILD without ever even telling sokka about her and given him a CHANCE to take her, and WE WERE JUST KIDS AND HE WAS SCARED-

its complicated. and involves a lot of trying not to shout around izumi, who is just over the moon that her dad and her favorite teacher know each other outside of school. and there's a lot of heartache over sokka having to come to terms with the fact that yeah, hes not izumis parent, and there's only so much he can do without stepping on zuko's toes, and he only wants what is best for izumi, and zuko seeing that maybe sokka really does want to be all in for izumi even if zuko thinks sokka really doesnt fully understand what that means, and would it be such a bad thing? not that either of them are going to admit this to the other.

so it starts with small things, like sokka being allowed to pay child support (which hes been begging to do since day one), and maybe it turns out that zukos new coworker is sokkas friend and they end up at the same party where they can really see each other interact with izumi, and a chunk zuko's summer child care plans for the summer fall apart so sokka offers to babysit since his summer job is remote which feels BIG but also reallyyyyy too convenient to reject,

and then something bigger happens where izumi gets hurt at school and while sokka is blaming himself he's also panicking bc the hospital wont let him stay with her bc hes not an emergency contact so he steels himself and later tells zuko he wants to make his relationship to izumi legal. hes not going to have a custody fight, he would never ask for that, but he wants his name on her birth certificate and wants his name on her list of emergency contacts, and its the first time zuko understand that sokka 100% knows what he's getting into here and is willing to be in this 100%.

So maybe sokka moves into this "uncle sokka" role, because zuko still refuses to tell izumi that sokka is her other dad, and yeah that hurts, but sokka would rather have part of izumi's life if he can't have all of it. and sokka gets a better look inside their lives and discovers that its HARD being a young single parent, why would zuko have risked everything he worked for to mix in some guy he barely knew who might decide that zuko wasn't good enough and take izumi away? and zuko sees the pain sokka has from missing out on so many key moments of izumi's young life, and the more sokka is proving himself as a second parent, the more guilty zuko feels. they go through some shit together and its more and more evident that sokka doesnt just want to be that fun uncle, but he's ready more than willing to be a PARENT even when it means being the bad guy.

and maybe they start falling for each other a little, because they are starting to have this LIFE together and its not just about izumi anymore its the way zuko rolls his eyes and gets the new fancy ice pack out of the freezer when a limping sokka brings izumi back from the park, and its the way sokka makes zuko genuinely laugh after a long day at work, and its like their lives are getting fully intertwined-

except that they arent. and they couldn't. because if sokka decides its too much. because if zukos good favor runs out. if it didnt work out between them. they couldnt do that to izumi. what they have is good, its fine, (even if its not enough) they dont want to risk anything that could disrupt izumi's life. shes the priority. and sure, she's already asking questions about the two of them, but what if they don't work right in a real relationship? the way things are now, either of them could back out, and everyone would eventually be ok. maybe. except every time they think about the possibility, it seems like they are already too intertwined, and either of them trying to untangle would just be a disaster, so imagine if they HAD to untangle, and-

so they just end up in an awkward stage of sad pining. because theres no way it would actually work out. because it would hurt all of them. and their life has never been better, but it's never hurt this much either.

ok so i didnt realize i could still write this long in an ask, but essentially i am not a masochist like you, and they do figure it out in the end. this could happen a number of ways, such as izumi just announcing that yeah this is my dad and his boyfriend, or zukka doing the "pining make outs that we never talk about until one of us snaps and we decide to let ourselves be fucking happy", or a very funny "we both snap and bone for one wonderful night to get it out of our system and then we dont talk about it" which leads to an accidental second baby where sokka and zuko both laugh and say whelp it must be fate lets do this the right way this time.

the most important thing is that they both forget to tell izumi that sokka is her biological father, so teenage izumi is very shocked and upset that shes just had to learn this from something totally mundane like applying for a passport, and sokka and zuko do the spider man finger pointing of "i thought you told her" "no, you were supposed to tell her" "did we really not tell her?" and its absolutely disgusting how cute they are

People say Hawks is a playboy, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He's such a sweetheart. Self sacrificing.

I think he falls hard. It is extremely difficult for him to trust, given not only his childhood, but his time with the commission, too. With the amount of undercover dirty work they made him do, there's no doubt they taught him from very young to trust no one. The message from his parents and the commission is clear: he can only trust himself.

But... We know Keigo still feels; so, so strongly. Dabi mocks him for it, mocks him because he can't stop himself from being "distracted by his emotions". Even when he knows what he's "supposed" to do in the Twice scene, he hesitates because it fucking hurts, he still feels pangs of empathy. Despite all he was taught about shutting off your emotions, that's something he still can't do completely, even if he ultimately decides to do the opposite of what he feels.

So. It would take a very, very long time for him to truly open up to you, much less recognize his feelings as romantic (he goes through a stage of denial, because he never saw himself actually being "selfish" and allowing himself a real relationship). But once he has his mind made up, and really makes that decision to be yours, he will not give that up for anything. He follows through to the end.

I think he always wanted to get married. Not in the way his parents did; he never did have a good example. But the way people on TV did, the way they wax poetic about in songs he never understood. He is definitely the marriage, soulmates kind of guy. He craves that slow, that domesticity, to protect.

Last night after dinner w/my fam I watched the SAG awards so I am a little behind on the conversation around the Chris Evans Clown Show Comedy Hour. However I read a couple of asks received by @nancydrewwouldnever about how he’s been looking like the Raggedy Andy version of his normal self these past few months and I couldn’t agree more.

I thought so watching the SMA videos People put out.

Back during my more naïve days, I just thought he was possibly exhausted and that could very well still be true. But after the rabbit hole I’ve been down for the past couple of months, I am of the opinion he's exhausted for a different reason than work requirements. Which is just that – my opinion: observation mixed with speculation.

I don’t think this RS – if it is rooted in PR like I think it is – was ever intended to last this long. From what I have gathered, the Netflix show and movie for which AB would have benefited the most having a lot of attention were originally supposed to both release in the first half of 2022. One or both were delayed, the show being very delayed -from first/second quarter all the way to the last quarter of the year. So not only did she lose out on a bump for the movie, but by the time her show finally launched it pretty much had already been axed by NF. So when Mr. SMA 2022 does the CP Marathon (horribly) with her, the only project she has going on at the time is hanging by a thread.

That's her fault for being lazy and entitled. A million golden opportunities were missed by her/her team, but I feel like Chris wasn’t going to sell anything very well anyway, as he likely was being pissy about this situationshit lasting so long. Which led me to thinking that “laser focus” press question was a plant to tie back to the earlier article BUT made me think it could possibly have been contrived as a way to signify the end of their "RS" had it gone to plan. The question would allow room for him to insinuate he was single again and “focused on finding the right partner” to “pour himself into” bc “awe, shucks, I’m just so unlucky in love…” 💀

BUT THAT CAN’T HAPPEN… he can’t signal the end of something that hasn’t yet been announced. So it looked to the viewer, and especially his fandom, that he was signaling his singlehood – and for his fans, to debunk the rumors flying around about his Lolita. NOW he has to stutter around and trap himself in word prisons and go take a quick pap sprint the same time as SMA announcement bc that’s when the show drops and do more photos and BS to sell the OVER year-long narrative when they were really prepped to do a 9ish-mos storyline. All the OG pics and scares (IMO) that were preemptively shot not only look slightly better but they also would have fit in with starting the RS storyline Fall 2021 and, if nothing would have been delayed, the end falling somewhere Summer 2022.

I think this is why he does such a shit job selling it. He struggles to sell intimacy anyway, but he’s not even giving it the ole college try bc he’s pissed off that it’s taken more time than he expected and dragging his feet. I mean…. All these rumors about the same chick for months HAS to have a negative impact on his harem, right?? 😂 Now she’s pissed that he’s dragging his feet – or maybe she wanted it to turn into more than what it is and he’s noped the fuck out – so she throws a hissy fit with the yoga cert mess, her mom’s pic, and her OF shower pictorial.  

It's possible had this not dragged along for this long, all the dirt that has surfaced RE: her and her sOuLMaTes being racist, antisemetic, fat phobic, basically all around horrendous ppl that has TANKED his image and lost him a good portion of his fandom would have maybe not surfaced. The mess would have been announced, been annoying, and been over before anyone cared enough to dig that much - or at least make that big of a deal about it, bc he would have been rid of her. I know that this dumpster fire mimics SS a lot but I think that Chris agreeing to a much shorter version in the beginning is why there are SO MANY pictures all at once. He probs didn't want to do this for the 2 years or whatever that SS committed to.

I think he has thrown his own tantrum of “I ain’t doin this shit anymore” and has left it to someone else to handle which is why he is AWOL from everywhere, including going out to dinner with his friend/castmates, and not doing his own SM anymore (I personally don’t think he’s posting anything at all right now himself). Seems he’s also made sure that he/his team control the mass narrative to the GP.

I think they’re riding this shit show out until the end, letting their teams do whatever they need to do. Even if she has the DESIRE to show up for anything like the Twitter reading (was she even invited? Was she wanted by her castmates/showrunners? Hollywood is show BUSINESS afterall so even if she wasn’t wanted she would be expected to show up to make good on production companies’ investments & save face?) the situations aren’t really going to be great for her. There would be – and SHOULD BE – backlash involving the discriminatory posts, which she obvs has no intentions of denouncing. IMO she should have done it anyway for her fans, but her not doing it goes a long way to prove her entitlement, lazy ass attitude, and ungratefulness. But from the looks of  those Star Power reports from IMDB that someone shared, it’s not her that’s hurting… it’s HIM. 🤡

He’s suffering greatly, which is also deserved, and he very likely knows it. It has taken a noticeable toll on his looks, his presence, his gait, and his energy. He looks like a shell of his former self bc he is. And he’s seemingly off licking his wounds until he can start his Chris Evans Redemption Tour.

I would like to put it out into the universe that my birthday is next month and it falls within their usual “drop” timeframe so it would be a fantastic birthday gift if March’s bomb was the BUA.

starting off strong w/ my boy yeonjun 💪💪 look, if any of you haven't tried gekikara ramen, UMMMMMM. it's so good like.

it comes w two seasoning packets, a chili oil &a sugar and sesame seed type packet? I guess that's what makes it slightly sweet as well. you're supposed to combine everything in a bowl and throw the cooked noodles on top and mix, and the whole ramen and it's components reminded me sm of yeonjun 😭 because he's such a sweetheart, kind of like the sugary sesame seasoning, but then the occasional chili oil that slaps you in the face and you're like, “damn. yeonjun is fine asf.”

the overall taste isn't too spicy, there's a balance of everything and it's really delicious. which also reminds me sm when yeonjun performs on stage. he so flawlessly executes the entire choreography, you can tell this guy knows his shit, the way he distributes his energy throughout his entire body and knows how to captivate the audience at the same time ✋✋ jeogiyo noona yeonjun 🫦

SOOBIN — ORIGINAL SAMYANG RAMEN

this one's got a soup base, and it says a lot that soobin is the only one out of these three who gets associated with a soupy ramen.

when you think soupy, you think comfort, you think relaxing, like a warm bowl on a cold day. the flavoring isn't anything that hits you and you're crying and reaching for a cold glass of water, but instead it's like, “wow, I could get used to this.” it's slightly salty, but you won't taste that unless you've boiled the soup down to a certain consistency where the seasoning is concentrated.

the veggies really add to the flavor too— like they have a certain aroma that they bring to the ramen. every clip I've seen of soobin when he's not performing is always something that makes me feel so happy, I'm always smiling at the screen until my mom looks at me like 🤨❓he's got such a cheerful aura to him, where he's super soft and cuddly, despite being like 6'1 ‼️‼️‼️ (😵‍💫😵‍💫)

there's this one clip of him where they're playing the headphone screaming game (LMFAO IDK WHAT ITS CALLED), and the word was “i love you” in korean, and he was so happy when he figured it out that he was screaming “I LOVE YOU? I LOVE YOU !!” like so happily n’ pouty, and I couldn't stop giggling and feeling so nice inside. and that's why I paired him with a soupy ramen 😋😋

BEOMGYU — BULDAK (2X)

finally we have buldak. last but OH HO HO (🎅❓) DEFINITELY NOT THE FUCKING LEAST 😭😭 a dipshit. an asswipe. can you see that I love beomgyu.

ironically, buldak is my fav ramen out of these three. my family's banned me from consuming it like thrice (before they conveniently forget ab said ban &the cycle starts again) because it's SO unhealthy for you— and even I agree. me, certified buldak lover. and beomgyu biaser.

it's just so spicy but I've had it sm, I'm used to it so it doesn't burn my bootyhole anymore— and the characteristic of “spicy until you're crying and screaming pain” is so beomgyu. countless clips of this boy where he's annoying the fuck out of everyone, and I want to be like on the side of everyone being annoyed and be like “so true he's so annoying UGH 🙄” but I can't help but giggle because I find it cute.

Nathalie is Preminger, still a gay icon, she was definitely having an affair with Emilie before Emilie died

Adrien is besties with Nino, and Nino is in love with Adrien. This is obvious to everyone except Adrien and probably Gabriel. (I was originally gonna make it Marinette, but I think this is great adrino material) (alyanette is def in the background) (luka is a minstrel even farther in the background lol)

Adrien and Nino basically act like a married couple, and Nino is going insane bc he knows Adrien is oblivious to what it’s doing to him. Adrien is just like “wow Nino is the best I would sell my soul for him and I think his lips would feel great he’s my best friend :)”

Chloé works at a dress place. Idk who runs it. She works with Marinette tho and they actually don’t hate each other. Chloé was sold by her parents bc her parents still don’t care for her in this au :p sorry chlo

Adrien and chloe happen to meet and bond quickly. Adrien is like I don’t really want to rule the kingdom. I care about the people but I’d rather help out in a low key neighborly way and not a I’m in charge of the kingdom way. And also I’m not into arranged marriage I want to get married to my true love whoever that is.

chloé is like I have a million ideas for improving the kingdom what are you talking about? And I would love to be ruler and be waited on hand and foot (bc she’s still a brat in this au at least at first) and love is for dumb dumbs but you do you I guess

But then they realize wait other than one of us having badonkadonks and longer hair, we kind of look the same

so a brilliant plan hatches

they switch places. Chloe gives Adrien a wig and and a peasant dress and stuffs a bra for him, and Adrien gets alya to cut her hair (Adrien would cut it himself but chloe didn’t trust him lol) and they wrap her so she looks flat chested and give her princess clothes. They let Nino in on the plan of course

Adrien is supposed to work for a little while in Chloé’s place while chloe gets to try out being a princess for maybe a few days

During Adrien’s time at the dress making place he talks to Marinette about his love problems. Marinette is like “dang do you know what kind of person you would fall in love with?” And Adrien starts listing off traits “like Nino, kind of like Nino, oh Nino is like that” and Marinette is like um… I think you might be in love with nino

Adrien is like omg I’m in love with Nino *gleeful squeal* i must tell him immediately

Adrien also realized he likes being a girl.

Nathalie preminger stuff goes mostly like in the movie. She kidnaps Adrien yadda yadda

Chloe finds out she has to court the queen, so Nino teaches her how to act like a man princess or whatever. Chloé is like yeah yeah love him and leave him (aka win him over for Adrien so Adrien can get with him for kingdom wide prosperity) and they kind of become friends

then Chloe meets the queen. Kagami.

they bond for real. Kagami is a capable queen and thinks Chloe has good ideas. She is captivated by Chloe’s additude and determination and strong will but also the quiet and steadfast love she has. (Kagami still thinks Chloe is Adrien tho) (I haven’t thought about voices it’s like 2 am don’t come at me)

Chloe loves how straightforward Kagami is but how she is still caring. Also Kagami is a great swordsman and Chloe is hit by the gay panic ok. And Kagami is like the king from the movie in that she’s great at disguises too

Nathalie reveals Chloe and has her arrested and offers to marry Gabriel for the throne. It seems like all is lost

but Nino saves Adrien, they confess their love and Adrien tells Nino he thinks he wants to be a girl. Nino is cool with that. They rush to save Chloe and kagami

Kagami busts Chloe out of prison and is like “I was wondering why I, a lesbian, was falling for a man. Of course you’re a woman” they confess their love. Chloe is secure in her womanhood but she enjoys a more masculine presentation

they stop Nathalie’s and Gabriel’s marriage and expose Nathalie who is arrested

Chloe and Kagami get married and rule the kingdom. Girl Adrien and Nino get married settle down as normal people but are still close to Kagami and Chloe and Gabriel I guess. Marinette and alya get married and are just vibing. Idk

These two go hand in hand! So I’m going to answer these two together! I wanna preface this by saying Pac isn’t a bad dad, he’s just distant and busy. So a lot of the time, either Iris had a babysitter or was left alone when she was older.

This was when Iris had a babysitter, so she met Betrayus when she was between 4 and 5? Unfortunately for Pac and whoever babysat at the time, Iris was and still is an explorer. So, Iris one day, tired of her dad just not being there, she decided to sneak out to find him.

Unfortunately, even though she’s a natural born explorer she is shit at directions. So what was supposed to be a skip and hop to The Round House, quickly became a rushed run through the maze at maze high….Where she promptly tripped and fell into the Netherworld, just like dear ol’ dad.

That’s where she decided “Oh, this is much cooler than wherever dad is.”

As she looked around the Netherworld, she was quickly captured and brought to Betrayus, because she’s between 4 and 5. Betrayus of course knew who she was and started making all the plans for ransoms and demands until he’s interrupted

“Excuse me?”

“What?”

“Who are you?”

She’s four and a half, she has no idea who Betrayus even is. She just knows he’s a ghost and Betrayus tries his best to explain who exactly he is and why she should fear him….Iris is less than impressed until he says something that caught her attention.

“I’ve fought your father since he was a child! How do you not know who I am! I practically raised your father on my evil attacks!”

“Oooooh, so you’re my grandpa?!”

“WHAT?! NO!”

“But you just said you raised him!

That’s how her child mind came to the conclusion that Betrayus was, in fact, her grandfather. Cause you know, any good grandpa ties up their granddaughter and then throws her in the dungeon after such an accusation. Bc of cartoon logic, Iris does escape, although she then proceeds to pester any annoy Betrayus before he could even contact Pac. It leads to a whole day of shenanigans before she finds her way home.

Her babysitter that day was promptly fired.

Either way, that’s what started Iris finding and sneaking her way into Betrayus hot, fiery, yet icy cold, heart!

After this Betrayus also tries very hard to get her to stop calling him grandpa. Although as she gets older, she knows he isn’t really her grandpa, but she does it to mess with him/ she does see him as her grandpa.

Iris’s nicknames for Betrayus: Grandpa, grandpappy, pappy, old man(most common as she reaches adult hood)

Betrayus’s nicknames for Iris: leech, parasite, Pod forsaken lemon child,

lemon drop(secretly)

Are there any characters or story beats that feel weak in rdr2 to you? Also, things you wished there'd been more exploration of, characters or ideas or themes

oh my god so much. I love red dead and its absolutely the best game ive ever played - and probably one of the best games ever - but its definitely not without flaws

Blessed are the peacemakers makes no sense in the plot. It does a few things: makes arthur doubt dutch, illustrates dutchs decline and his apathy (perhaps for the first time for the player), and shows that colm odriscoll is working with the pinkertons, possibly doing foreshadowing for micahs betrayal by showing you its possible for outlaws to become rats. BUT I think this could have been done in a billion other ways than "Lets torture arthur and never bring it up again!" bc he doesnt mention it, his shoulder injurt doesnt hinder him, he doesnt have ptsd from it. theres not a reason why that in particular had to happen. arthur could have been captured, but not tortured and shot, for example. maybe they could have drugged him and thru his haze he overheard colms plans and then managed to escape when he came to, only to find that it had been several days that he was missing and no one came to look for him. that sort of thing. same prinicple but without the ridiculous glossing over of TORTURE

Guarma. This one sticks in my craw and I get more annoyed every time I play it. R* originally was going to have villages and stranger missions on the island but abandoned it for some reason? time I guess? But I really would have liked to see a more personal look at the people there and how cornwall and fussar have hurt them. PLUS it would have been a very good opportunity to show how the way the rich men rob from the poor isnt too different from what dutch and the gang does. It would give arthur a really good image of how far they had fallen, that they were similar to these awful men, when they originally started off as robin hood-like men that gave back the money they stole to shanties. but no its just 3 missions of endless combat which can be fun but isnt really bc I dont even have my favortite gun with me. Also it didn't do a good job of showing Javier's sudden loyalty to Dutch/Bill/Micah. I would think that Arthur being stuck w these four, who eventually betray him, with nobody else would be a good opportunity to show how they all grow to hate him for some reason, but its not there. SIDE NOTE guarma is also glitched for me and this is a common bug. The time stays at 9am and half the guarma-exclusive animals dont spawn so I didn't get to fill out my compendium. R* never fixed this

I think all the girls could have been expanded upon. Tilly's role in the gang especially bc she was raised the same way as john and views dutch like a father, yet if you never heard her camp dialogue explaining this, you would never know. Molly especially needed more detail. She was supposed to be on the mission to go to the saint denis mayors party, and was cut for SOME REASON. but she would have done wonderfully. She should have had a part in it

The timeline of the gang and their relationships makes no fucking sense. Abigail says she always liked Mary, but Abigail joined the gang in 1894, and Mary and Arthur talk like they were in their early twenties when they were together. Theres a dialogue w Abigail and Uncle where they reminisce on her working girl days (bc Uncle was her pimp - very weird) and she says it was ten years ago. but that would mean she was working two years after she gave birth to jack which 1. didn't happen and 2. COULDNT happen bc I dont think men would want to pay for a night with a mother who had children fairly recently. the stretch marks and loose skin would give that away. Arthur has an antagonizing line to Jack that he looks like a williamson or an escuella- Javier didn't join the gang until about 1895, a year after abigail, and presumably when she was already pregnant or had given birth to jack. Theres other examples but these are the main ones I can think of

That encounter with Sonny in the swamp had no reason to be in the gang aside from R* thinking male victims of SA are funny

I wish they had more detail with Isaac. I mean clearly I wish that, ive got a 130k+ fic exploring arthur and Isaac's relationship, but within red dead I wanted just a bit more than a couple of lines. Originally Isaac and Eliza were both supposed to be in the game and Isaac was a newborn that would have frozen to death in the prologue, and I think Eliza would have ran away. Instead they went with making them a footnote in Arthur's story. On one hand, I understand why Arthur would rarely talk about them bc it would be too painful, but I also think if it was more overt, it would color his interactions with Jack/Abigail/John differently. Plus it would lean more into the themes of cycles of violence, and breaking out of it to be a father. Arthur didn't and he died childless, John tried to but he couldnt manage it and doomed his son to follow in his footsteps

THE EPILOGUE. Oh my godddd the more I play the epilogue, the more empty it feels and the more I realize why few people like it or finish it. It feels very tacked on. There needed to be a scene between the saddest video game death in history and John and Abigail arguing. The fact that there is no break inbetween like 2 hours of arthurs story wrapping up and another hour of John's story starting. Farm chores are fine but tedious if youve played it before. John being desperate for money and risking his life w sadies bounties makes no sense when Ive just done a treasure map and have $1000 in my inventory. "The gang needs money" is an endlessly attainable goal, moreso than "I need money". John's player model is just Arthur's reskinned- But they originally planned for you to play as John's npc model. You can see this in the pictures they have in the menu of John in the missions. The fact that there are NO NEW STRANGER MISSIONS aside from evelyn miller which is really nothing. They unlock new austin, but theres NOTHING to do there except collectiables and sight seeing and a couple bounties. Why even bother? When you compare how dense New Hanover is with Stuff To Do compared to New Austin which is HALF THE TOTAL MAP, its ridiculous!! I think it was just rushed and needed either more fleshing out, or cutting out completely bc John doesnt even live in new austin, and doesnt visit it until rdr1. Doesnt Bonnie give him a tour bc he doesnt know where things are? I may be misremembering that

Money. Money is so inconsistent and the values make no sense. Right its 1899. I rob a stagecoach and get $40 for it. This must be like $1000 in todays money. Wow Arthur beat a man to death for $40. This must be a lot of money. What do you mean a pair of jeans is $15. Thats how much they cost now! Wait why is this can of bean $1.40? I can buy them now for 40cents! Not to mention the Valentine bank robbery gives you $2000, essentially making money completely useless. Add on all the treasure maps as well as random gold bars lying around, which is 24 accoring to gamerant. $12,000 for all of those. So once you have this much money, all the fun outlaw stuff of robbing stagecoaches, mugging people, robbing stores and trains, is completely irrelavent. I never do any of it bc its not worth the bounty for 50 bucks. And paying off bounties isnt a big deal either bc its barely a dent in your pocket. Basically it takes the difficulty away, and the need to engage in these criminal activities for afford anything in the game. Its hard to take dutch seriously w his "We need more money" when I have a cool 8k in my man purse. Its also hard to believe Arthurs lamenting about his behaviour "I'm a bad man I rob and kill and am so terrible to people" no you aint but I dont make you do anything criminal unless the game makes me in a mission

Theres a lot of cut content and I wish almost all of it was back. Most notably, roulette tables, boat to guarma for John, more stranger missions, more companion activities in camp. I think they were orginally going to allow come sort of companion mechanic where people from camp could accomanpy Arthur on his adventures. I understand why they didnt bc that would require 10x more voice acting and would be really complicated with stranger missions, but I would have loved it all the same

Not gonna lie, when I first read the title, i thought their relationship was having troubles and I got worried 😰 until I saw the summary and was like: we’re good 😮‍💨 my fav couple is fine ☺️

I can totally relate with MC, cause I am somewhat like that with trips too. I like to be organized so I usually take the lead to make sure everyone’s ready, that they don’t forget anything, and nothing goes amiss. Just cause I know that they will ask me about it or ask me for help if something does go wrong.

But I do love Jk being so attentive and really sweet. It’s the small things like still being mindful of her and her whereabouts despite the chaos of his friends and making her a playlist of “their songs” to listen during the trip 🥺 Just the perfect bf. He is also such a gentleman, my goodness. How he is so thoughtful and caring like the opening of the umbrellas for Grandma Jeon and Grandma Park, and the latter calling out Jimin for not being like him 😂

These Grandma besties are both so cool. Who else would go on a trip with your grandchild and their friends and BE THE ONES embarrassed to be seen with them too much that they have to be on different floors 🤣 and it was cute how Grandma Jeon’s shy for Jk to see her dating 😆

No, actually you’re right. When I said it was a good lesbian rep I was mainly talking about Elena, not how the other characters treat her or how they see her identity, it’s very very rare seeing lesbians being represented in a more positive way, not fetishizing or anything like that, and the fact that they do use the word lesbian (not as frequently as I’d like to but still better than never) is a huge thing because most lesbian characters are never referred as lesbians.

After I rewatched some episodes there really are some things that bothered me like those you brought up. That particular scene of “acting gay” I did not really like it, I don’t know if the character who said that (from what I remember it was either Alex or Lydia) was actually supposed to sound homophobic or not. But considering that scene is supposed to be funny I do think it’s just a way to kinda mock her. Also that scene of Penelope saying she can think homophobic things about her daughter because as long she doesn’t say anything to her is okay… That sounded so wrong. It’s not okay. Just because you’re not saying those things out loud it doesn’t mean it’s not wrong.

I’ve never actually noticed Lydia said that because they were white… wow. The part of the pro military I can’t really say anything because that’s the most common thing in american movies/shows. It’s very annoying though.
