i have so many thoughts and feelings regarding the apartment scene and the final scene, so i'm honestly just gonna break it all down here, so bare with me. putting it under a cut cause i had a lot to fucking say

ray barges into the room and the FIRST THING he says is "you pushed me to go to rehab because my dad hired you to, right?" it's exactly what he came here for and exactly what had him pounding on sand's door, and because of it there is no other way this scene could have gone. because of course after ray overhears them, this is the only possible conclusion he could draw. it's the same conclusion he drew in ep6 when he realized sand had manipulated him - that he was doing it all for money. and while sure, sand telling him that he wants money repeatedly in the past probably didn't help those assumptions, it's not ACTUALLY about sand or the fact that he needs money. it's about the fact that from EPISODE ONE ray makes it clear he feels his only value is in his money. he says outright that all he knows how to do is spend money, his friends push him to use his dad's extra property for the hostel. it's all right there from the jump that it's all ray feels he's good for, so of course when presented with the idea that maybe that's all sand did this for, he's going to believe it.

and the difference here and why it hurts here is because ray cares about sand and he thought sand cared too. he says it outright in the final scene, that he got so mad because he cares so much about sand. he feels like sand manipulated him, like all those happy moments they had together were nothing but sand trying to get him to rehab so that he could get his pay out. and again, that's easy to believe because sure, they were happy, but he's hard to love isn't he? ray believes himself to be a burden, he admits he's been nothing but an asshole to sand in the final scene. and yet sand still seemed to want him, still tried, still pushed him to get help, and that only makes sense to him if it was for that pay out. "everything was a lie, right?"

and sand tries to get through to him, to make him understand it wasn't just that, that he truly cares, but there is nothing sand could say at this point to make ray understand that because it was already hard enough for ray to believe that affection was real. now he has a real reason to believe it wasn't, so why would he listen to sand?

then there's this moment where sand asks ray if he really thinks he's a man with no dignity (did you mean it when you called me a whore? do you really think that of me?) and ray says yes. and immediately after that ray talks about sand tricked him into trusting him and he slept with him because he wanted his dad's money. and that line really got me because we knew from episode one that ray's relationship with sex was iffy at best with how casual he was about the idea that sand had drugged him, and then he offered to pay sand for it and called him a whore in episode six. but it meant something. for all of ray's denial that it didn't, them sleeping together has always meant something to ray. ray offered to pay sand and sand said if i want it, i'll do it for free and now ray thinks that none of it was for free. he was lied to, he was betrayed. because sand was someone he didn't feel like was using him, not for sex, not for money. sand didn't take advantage of him, sand didn't ask for money from him, but now everything is twisted because sand was taking money from his dad. so it was all fake, wasn't it?

and god, the way sand says ray's name after that accusation kills me. because he knows he fucked up, he deserves for ray to think that after he took the money from his dad and he says that it's fine if ray thinks that. but he still needs ray to hear him, that it wasn't because of the money, that it was because he cares.

and ray rightfully questions him, not only because of the money but because sand is selling alcohol out of his home. if all were to have worked out, if ray had gone to rehab and gotten sober, there was no possible way he would be able to avoid alcohol in those early days if he felt he needed to because sand has a wall of it in his fucking living room. and yes, it's a source of income, but doesn't that just reinforce ray's belief? if sand cared about him getting sober and wanted to keep him around, why would he keep the alcohol business, knowing it would just be temptation for ray? isn't that just more proof that sand doesn't care about ray but only about money?

then we have the line that we've been waiting for, that we've been dreading since the trailer. "you think my life would be better with you in it? it's only fucking going down to hell." and really, i think that line comes down to the fact that like ray says in the last scene, sand has made him so damn happy since he came in his life. he was going to rehab for sand. but now ray thinks it was all a lie. so how would that not cause just more pain? how would it not make him spiral more?

and then sand breaks the bottle and he does it for the reason i have been so sure he would - he does it for ray. because ray is right, if he wants ray to get sober, he can't have a wall of alcohol in his home, he can't sell it if he's gonna support him. and it says so much about the love that sand has for ray.

with the last scene, my biggest thing here is that ray is picturing sand in a similar outfit to the first day sand saved him. because all of the things he's saying, his apology, his thanks, all of it, has applied since the beginning, since that first day sand saved him. because sand cares, because sand is loving. he was always there for him. ever since he walked into ray's life, ray has been happy.

and i really do hope that even though it was mostly in ray's head, that sand does get to hear all of that from ray at some point. because he deserves that apology, that thanks. and he deserves to hear how important he is to ray.

I love seeing Luke smile. As the entire room rises to exit, Taylor instructs them not to leave and everyone immediately listens. I will never understand how he has this much power or why Luke dutifully attends every one of thse things.

Stefon from SNL voice: This hot new club, Stars Hollow Town Meeting, has everything. Animal cruelty, blind obedience, women who pick up dates at funerals, politicians dunking on neurodivergent loners, protest supression.

Pretty rich for Lorelai to be dunking on loners when the guy she's in love with has no friends and her daughter has one friend.

At least the loner must be intelligent. Evidenced by the fact that he doesn't waste his time in town meetings. But seriously...imagine you're this guy minding his own business just trying to buy some books and enact political change with protest so the mayor-type-guy calls everyone in town together to dunk on how weird and creepy and quiet you are behind your back (see also: Jess, who was also a child. And who also has to endure shitty comments about not being talkative enough).

Now, let's say the Gilmore Girls in-show timeline lines up with the air dates of the episodes (which it tends to do much of the time). "Teach Me Tonight" aired April 30th, 2002. This episode aired on November 5th, 2002. 6 months and 6 days prior to this town meeting. Rory's not-even-broken arm has healed. Lorelai, kindly...get the fuck over it and shut up. Lorelai: when did Jess get a car? Luke: None of your god damn beeswax. Luke had no idea Jess had a car.

I always found it interesting that Jess was raised in the city his whole life, but knew how to drive. Many (but not all) New Yorkers get around on foot or public transportation and many never even learn to drive at all. But there's just no way Liz was a New Yorker who had a car that Jess could borrow, she wasn't helping him practice, she wasn't paying for lessons with an instructor, and before he arrived in The Hollow the only life he knew was getting around on public transport and walking. We come to learn he knows a bit about car repair as well. And he's only 18. Definitely not saying it's implausible or unbelievable that he knows how to drive. Far from it. Just something to ponder. Jess is scrappy. He finds a way. Lorelai has the absolute fucking audacity to tell Luke "You needs to get a handle on Jess" because he wasn't aware of this car purchase. How about you get a handle on your perfect child before she sleeps with her married ex boyfriend and steals a boat huh. How bout them apples.

OMG OMG.

Narrator: Lorelai Gilmore was in fact, not sorry for equating a 6 month old minor car accident that caused a hairline wrist fracture with 1st degree murder, and she would not butt out now or ever again.

I love Aziraphale but I DO kind of feel like he was objectively more wrong than Crowley was, bc Aziraphale's plot for most of S2 comes straight out of Terry Pratchett books: he shuts down Crowley and focuses on setting up this storybook romance for them, while ignoring everyone else's distress. Like we see from the start of the season that Crowley is depressed and clearly upset, and it gets worse as it progresses, but Aziraphale doesn't even clock that something is wrong, even when Crowley is outright telling him. Of course this is going to create and nurture a situation where Crowley doesn't communicate. Aziraphale's not listening to him anyway. One of Terry's books features a witch who uses her magic to force fairy tale plots onto the people around her. It's the pinnacle of toxic positivity.

hi anon!!!✨ oooooh i have a feeling that this is going to be a long one, my apologies in advance!!! also, please forgive my ignorance on pratchett's works, im not deliberately ignoring it, but definitely not familiar with it enough to draw on any narrative similarities unfortunately!!!

so on the point of aziraphale not recognising that crowley is depressed, i do think that there are some indicators that if aziraphale paid more attention, he would pick up on it. that being said, i do think that the depth of crowley's not-okayness is largely masked from aziraphale, and is mostly shown only to other characters and obviously to the audience; the scene on the park bench with shax, for example, or any scenes between crowley in/around the bentley. one example that aziraphale could have picked up on:

c: "what i need is for him to be nowhere near me, and the precious, peaceful, fragile existence ive carved out for myself here..."

a: "i thought we carved it out for ourselves?"

c: "so did i!"

so, obviously crowley started in on the fact that gabriel threatened aziraphale in ep6, and quite rightly uses this as a reason to leave well enough alone, get rid of gabriel, and go back to their life as it was before. and crowley's language and delivery is absolutely indicative of how desperate he is to keep the status quo, that he's hanging on practically by a thread. shax and hell are keeping tabs on him, he's living in his car (which i'll come onto later), and he doesn't have much of a Purpose anymore than just existing.

aziraphale should be reading into this, 110%. but, crowley ends up underplaying his own struggle by talking about 'i' and 'me'. that doesn't mean its less true or valid, but to aziraphale's mind, he appears to be thinking only about how gabriel's presence would affect him. it immediately undermines how crowley first went in to trying to convince aziraphale to turn out gabriel, because it reads like crowley is revealing his true issue with the situation. we know that it's because, to crowley, aziraphale is ignoring him and his warning (which he absolutely is).

but crowley hasn't told aziraphale the full story of what happened; what gabriel said. aziraphale doesn't have the context to understand the full scope of crowley's fear and anger. i don't think knowing it would have necessarily changed the ultimate outcome/decision - i do think aziraphale is still kind and forgiving ("it's one of my favourite things!") to a fault - but it might have stopped aziraphale completely closing off and shutting down the continuance of what could have been a communicative and honest discussion. that, despite all of it, crowley is stepping away from aziraphale and planting himself on His (crowley's) Side, not Their Side.

aziraphale attempts to pull the conversation back; he tells crowley he would love for him to help, and that aziraphale is actively asking for help (which, verbally and with full intent, i don't recall aziraphale having done anywhere before this point in canon; he's intimated it, made very strong suggestions that he wants crowley to help/do something for him). this is a big show of vulnerability on aziraphale's part ("i need you!"), to literally put those words into the space between them... and crowley is silent. crowley is absolutely justified in not helping gabriel, but i think aziraphale's reaction is just as understandable.

but then moving on through to ep2, i think the next bit where aziraphale probably should have seen that crowley is Not Okay is the bentley/bookshop discussion, and crowley's reluctance to share it. from crowley's point of view, this car is literally the only tie he has left (will still get to the Sleeping In His Car debacle later) to anything permanent. this car that is literally an extension of him, comforts and shelters him, his complete Ride or Die - even to the end of the world. it is completely understandable that crowley would be jealous of it, want to keep a portion of his world for himself.

from aziraphale's point of view, as suggestive as it can be interpreted, he's opened his doors literally to crowley since at least 1941 - even earlier, if we count the 1800 scene that was cut (where, if gabriel and sandalphon hadn't turned up, i have no doubts that crowley would have been welcomed in straight away). it's definitely believable that crowley, between at least 1800 - 1827, might have been welcome in the shop... possibly even between 1827 - 1862 depending whether or not crowley spent "quite some time" in the pits of hell after edinburgh.

and this is likely to have been an exponential occurrence between 2008 - 2023, possibly even between 1967 - 2008 (depending on whether they had or had not been in continued contact follow the holy water incident). either way, again from aziraphale's perspective, the tie he has to earth and his life on it has been steadily then repeatedly shared with crowley. that's where he feels safe, and is himself, and is an extension of him. it's where they both feel like that in 2023. aziraphale has, presumably, shared that without quibble, has even been - judging by the s2 scene - something he has actively encouraged. it's definitely presumptuous, and possibly even entitled, but i think aziraphale has seen this as crowley being willing to share his life with aziraphale; why wouldn't he share the bentley? he's driven aziraphale everywhere he's wanted to go in it - doesn't crowley trust him enough to let aziraphale drive himself, for once?

ep3 sees a continuation of the above; that aziraphale changes the car, and does so without permission. whilst cute and adorable, and with the best of intentions, there is a major degree of this that is absolutely a violation on crowley, even if he logically would know that it's reversible. potentially, this is even foreshadowing of how he feels in the Final Fifteen with the angel restoration offer (im sure someone else has drawn this parallel somewhere...?).

but i do think it is absolutely a declaration from aziraphale of how wonderful he sees crowley just as he is now (his mf eyes), and how actually he doesn't want to change crowley to something better, but instead to paint the whole world in crowley's image. and its all the more powerful because a) crowley isn't there to see it, and b) he doesn't know that crowley can so viscerally detect changes made to the car.

the fact that crowley doesn't make this connection is surely a reflection of how he sees himself (see: he doesn't), and aziraphale should pick up on that... but if to aziraphale's mind crowley already knows how aziraphale feels about him through other gestures, in aziraphale's mind maybe crowley's just being coy or a bit possessive of his beloved bentley - that's fair, it's practically married behaviour! aziraphale wouldn't necessarily think to infer crowley's objections as anything different.

then we move on to ep4 (and finally talking about crowley living like a nomad), with the last scene of aziraphale helping him take out the plants to the bentley. you know - im still not 100% sure what to make of the whole situation of aziraphale not knowing that crowley is living out of his car. my main two schools of thought are that:

crowley has been spending enough time in the shop that him going out at random intervals is just normal to aziraphale - he's off doing Demon Things! he's just out on a jolly, having some time to himself! but it's okay, he always comes back! that would be possible, but we don't have any narrative to actively support this, and is practically a hc at this point. but there must be something that keeps aziraphale from digging any deeper - he is by all accounts a smart guy, and clocking that crowley has his plants in his car must get him thinking even if only for a moment... (unless he literally just chalks it up to Crowley Being Crowley, which is also feasible lbr)

the alternative thought (and not saying this is right - as i said, i literally do not have a scooby as to why aziraphale doesn't seem, on some level, to realise it) is that aziraphale does realise it, but doesn't want to face the implications of why crowley might have kept it from him, and so he buries it. i parsed this thought out more in a LWA response, full post here, but snippet screenshotted below:

i'll probably leave that bit there, but absolutely; aziraphale should be realising that something is wrong... but equally - as the king of cognitive dissonance, frankly - i don't think he wants to look deeper into something that, to him, would suggest any reason for there to be distrust between them, or a lack of openness. of course, we can see as the audience that this is a very small drop in the ocean where that's concerned, but to aziraphale - there's surely no possibility that crowley would keep something from him, not something this important.

when it comes to the Loving Gaze in ep6 (i'll come back to ep5 in a sec) that he gives when crowley admits that he's been living in his car, again - not entirely sure what to make of it. obviously it is just pure 'i utterly love/adore him', 'yes, it's you i want to be with, yes', but also maybe a measure of 'oh, you silly demon, why didn't you tell me? not that it's a problem now though, because in time we'll be together properly and you'll never have to be without a home again because your home can be with me'. he does gloss over the fact that crowley didn't tell him, and was obviously not in an okay place - but possibly in a, 'we'll talk about it later sometime, but for now - im just happy about what future we could start having from here on out. everything else is immaterial'. it's dismissive, but i also think potentially an indication that aziraphale does see, but they'll have the rest of their existence now to talk about it and heal.

anyway, back to ep5. the ball. oh lord - i honestly don't know if i have the mental acuity to even go into depth on the ball, rn. it's a Problem, and 100% on aziraphale's part. he's overcome with love, god bless him, isn't he? just so hellbent on showing crowley - it's not even about the girls, anymore, not if aziraphale really admitted it to himself - that he loves him. i think the magic spell that aziraphale creates bewitches even him, slightly - maybe not so literally, but this is a moment that has at least been decades in the making. and crowley is running around telling him there's an issue? well, they're safe in the shop (which, in a way, is absolutely true)! don't spoil this, please just hear me, hear what im trying to tell you unequivocally!

i think in aziraphale's mind, crowley tends to have a habit of overreacting (gabriel as a case in point), which is not true - but understandable when you potentially consider that aziraphale never really has all the facts. he's definitely overprotective, a point that is shown in s1 (imo, aziraphale never actively encourages the damsel-in-distress thing, but crowley just happens to show up at the slightest hint of trouble, and instead aziraphale takes this to mean that saving him, when he doesn't need saving, truly does make crowley happy). this is something crowley through his actions has encouraged - i think to assume that crowley is overreacting in this context is understandable, but yet; no, aziraphale should be listening to him. he should. and it once again feeds into the thought process that aziraphale cannot save himself - on and on it goes.

i don't think there is much to discuss in ep6 (im not going to get into the Final Fifteen - it's been analysed so much better by other people and by me too), this answer is already long enough, and i think for the most part it's fairly obvious. i do however have a dedicated FF tag in my masterpost if you do wish to peruse the various ponderings on the subject.

the only thing i guess that's really left for me to parse out is s1; aziraphale does lie to crowley. a lot. most egregious is lying about finding the antichrist but, i will say, in his defence - crowley has repeatedly asserted that they should straight-up murder a child. aziraphale drew his boundary, and crowley kept pushing, even going so far as to try tempting (and then practically demanding) that aziraphale be the one to do it. i don't think it's unjustified in that respect that aziraphale would keep that knowledge, therefore, from him - and instead turn to heaven. obviously that doesn't work out, in that respect crowley is proven right, and aziraphale immediately takes action to remedy it (calls crowley after the 9-1-metatron call).

but, it's an interesting mirror to what goes on in s2 in the theme of mutual trust and openness between them. crowley doesn't trust aziraphale not to dismiss him and run back to heaven when the going gets tough, nor does he trust him to have any sense of self-preservation (despite, yk, being a literal miracle worker and being the one to actual save their bacon in the 40s s2 minisode). but aziraphale similarly doesn't trust crowley not to try making him do something he has expressly said he will not do, and would betray a core tenet of who he is - temptation, which they both know works on aziraphale, and crowley could arguably exploit as he sees fit if aziraphale were to let him be completely vulnerable to crowley. in this respect, the foundations of their relationship, such as it is, is quite demonstrably built on sand of the quick variety.

so in essence, anon (honestly - gold star for you if you've made it to here), i don't disagree with you at all. but i think it's slightly reductive to not see that they are just as bad as each other. each have their trauma and unreconciled issues that directly inform on the action or inaction they take, and both are completely justified in that. i think it's more than possible to be empathetic to both of their perspectives, because ultimately, imo, their relationship as it was where we left it at the end of s2 was practically doomed right from where we first - in 2008 - properly join their story. im all for a huge, screaming row, and the promise of quieter, more delicate conversations thereafter, in s3; boy, do they need it!✨

honestly, before the series started airing i kind of just assumed that dunk and lookjun would be paired up for this?? but then the series started airing and ivy was canonically gay for star and the friendship dynamic between ivy and white reminded me a lot of my own friendships with guys which are all very much and decidedly so platonic. so when i saw ivy and white together at first i had this moment of not wanting them to get together bc i was just so excited for some nice, platonic f/m friendship representation with no romantic feelings involved whatsoever, just like my own f/m friendships!!

but then ep6 happened and i just. i can't help but ship it anyway bc first of all, dunk somehow manages to have chemistry with every single one of his co-stars, so white could get with pretty much any of his friends and i would gladly thank the writers dfjkkjdfkjdf

and second of all, the more i think about it ivy and white actually make so much sense???? bc they've been constantly here for each other from the start. they bicker, and pretend to be annoyed by each other and that they can't stand each other but then when things get serious, they are immediately here for each other no questions asked and support each other. like when star turned down white in public, ivy went after white rather than star, comforted white when she could have easily checked on her bff and crush instead. or when ivy was going through some heartbreak bc of star, white was also here for her, listened to her, walked her home to make sure she was ok and offered her a shoulder to cry on when she wasn't. these two have been a team from the start and it only makes sense for them to end the series as an even more established team

and as we get further into the second half of the show i can't wait to watch the characters themselves to figure that out as well

i'm completely confused by the writing at this point, but i do like that we're getting more team green representation because they were too cartoonishly evil and not cool last season. i would've wanted corlys to have an outburst over rhaenys' death last episode, rather than simply going to driftmark for baela to convince him. rhaenyra making him hand of the king would have had more importance then, i think. jace is sitting the council at last lol. knowing what will happen to steffon darklyn, i feel kinda bad for him. it was a bit of a stupid decision, especially considering bastards are perhaps a better bet than a kingsguard (a very needed one, at that) whose relation to house targaryen is pretty distant. but i do admire than he genuinely wanted to help his queen and thus kinda sacrificed himself. okay, my wish for daemon to hallucinate viserys has come to pass at last. though viserys says the same stuff as in season 1, but it's much more...soft. i actually prefer this one to the scene in s1. viserys is more vulnerable and it's always a pleasure to see paddy considine. daemon's storyline is a bit slow but i'm glad to see him being driven to the edge of madness. matt smith is a phenomenal actor, so he carries the sometimes boring writing. simon strong is being an icon as always. i love caraxes so the screen time is much appreciated. i just know alys giggles to herself when daemon has his luigi's mansion moments. i do love that she makes him face his faults when he's trying to run. daemon has always wanted the crown, but it's so clear to see that he's not fit for it. he's right that rhaenyra never wanted it, but she rose up to the occasion. she's being a leader. daemon struggles to raise men by threat of fire. alys and mysaria are the most interesting characters to me this season. by saying that in three days the winds will shift, i think alys meant that grover tully will die and oscar will take his place and therefore secure an army for rhaenyra. i am still sad to lose kermit tully. i understand the muppets association but it's legit a cool name 😂. the scene where ser steffon tries to bond with seasmoke was very interesting. it's pretty neat to get more insight into the dragonbonding process. anyways, rip steffon darklyn. you did your best. i do like sylvi (the brothel madam) and dyana, so i'm curious to see what's next for them, though i think sylvi may not appear again. anyways, the smallfolk have my heart. i like that after suffering yet another loss, rhaenyra feels utterly frustrated and desperate. i love love and love rhaenyra and mysaria. i kind of don't like the "the people will be hungry and will need someone to blame", because yes, the keep has more than enough food for themselves, but it was rhaenyra who initiated the blockade. the blame could easily shift to her. with all the dismissing and whatnot, i don't think otto even managed to reach oldtown before he's being summoned back lol. aegon didn't really listen to his council, but atleast he tried, while aemond's being outright mean to his council. tom glynn carney is amazing. no matter what aegon did, i don't think he deserves to be lowkey tortured by aemond. tgc is seriously too charismatic and too good to make me hate aegon. i truly wonder if they'll make rhaena tame sheepstealer. i love my sweet girl sm. the baby dragons are so cute. i'm sorry jeyne arryn is so beautiful i can't focus whenever she's on-screen. i'm lowkey stressed that the battle of the gullet is coming. i love the rather subtle way they're using to show that addam and alyn are bastards. i like alyn in the show. i love that even rhaenyra is sick of daemon. he truly has to get his act together and recognize that it is rhaenyra's claim he should uphold. how did the fisher guy not see the boat before it was right there at the beach? oh well. food for the smallfolk yay. lyman beesbury haunts the narrative. i write as i watch the episode and i'm already at the limit and the episode is not even over 💀

the way the beach scene from the summer i turned pretty s2 ep6 SCREAMS post breakup sereshaw. let me elaborate with a little drabble:

The back door to the Hard Deck slams shut behind Jake as he stumbles out onto the beach. The night is clear and humid, his uniform shirt sticking to his back. It would be a nice night for a swim if his head wasn’t stuck in a loop of what Coyote had just told him over their last round of drinks.

“So, you and Bradshaw?” Coyote murmurs, leaning closer to his friend and leaning on the bar while keeping eyes on Bradley and Phoenix’s game of pool.

Jake lets out a derisive snort, looking anywhere but at Bradshaw. “Not on his life. Never again man, I told you.”

“Yeah, yeah” Coyote rolls his eyes as he speaks, waving his hand dismissively. “Same old story. You don’t talk to him, he doesn’t talk to you but you both talk to everyone else”

Jake laughs, looking over at his friend. “He talks to Phoenix and I talk to you. That’s kind of how friendship works, in case no one told you.”

“Oh come on man, I’m not talking about that. You know i’d listen to you bitch and moan about Bradshaw until kingdom come if you needed it.” Coyote says emphatically, knocking his knuckles against Jake’s on the bar top.

Jake nods with a smile, knocking his knuckles against his friends in reply. “Then what?”

“I mean it’s enough hearing you waxing poetic about him, i also had to listen to him do the same about you way back when. It’d be a lot easier if you just talked it out you know.” He explains, turning to actually look at Jake for the first time with a sarcastic smile.

But his friend can’t return it. He’d have to unstick his tongue from the roof of his mouth to do so, but Coyote continues unprompted.

“Honestly you should’ve heard what he said about you back then, couldn’t get him to shut up. It took me a bit to realize he was trying to get my permission.”

“Permission? I’m a grown man.” Jake says, confused and almost insulted.

His friend laughs, “No, not really. He just came to me because he knew if i hated him, no way you’d give him a shot.” Coyote shrugs, turning his attention back to the pool table with no regard for how far he’s pulled the rug out from under his friend.

He went to Coyote. Jake thinks, the thought looping like a toy train on a track. He can’t breathe out, his breath getting stuck in his lungs, Jake’s pounding heart echoing through his ears. He went to Coyote about me.

“Why would he do that?” Jake asks, his voice coming out too loud and squeaky to be normal. Coyote turns to him quickly, his face screwed up in concern. A quick look at Jake’s expression lets him know not to ask and to answer the damn question.

“I don’t know, Jake. Wait, he never told you?”

“Doesn’t matter.” Jake says defensively, turning his gaze down to his half empty beer and where his thumbnail has been steadily peeling off the label.

Coyote considers this for a second, chewing on his bottom lip before leaning over close to his friend and speaking quietly. “Jake, I can’t tell you why he did that. Only he can.”

The blonde man nods, keeping his eyes on his bottle. But Coyote continues. “But I remember that when he did that, I thought it must be because he was in love with you.”

Jake’s head snaps towards his friend, reading the honesty in Coyote’s steady gaze. Coyote flies a single seater, just like Jake. So his instincts, to Jake, are just as good as his own. And if Coyote ever for a second believed that Bradley could love him, then Jake wants a damn explanation from the man himself.

Jake finally lets his gaze dart to Bradley. He catches the other man’s gaze briefly before the older darts his eyes away. He hasn’t gotten any better at playing cool. Jake thinks bitterly, downing the rest of his lukewarm beer and quickly grabbing Coyote’s shot of tequila and drinking it down himself.

“Woah. Jake, easy.” Coyote murmurs, prying the glass out of Jake’s hands.

So Jake found himself on the beach. Waiting for Bradley to show himself. The son of a bitch never could resist a good knight and shining armour routine, he thinks with an eye roll, downing the last of another tequila shot he’d grabbed before coming outside.

You know what, it’s still a good night for a swim. Jake thinks, dropping his ass into the sand and pulling off his boots and socks. It takes a second for him to get himself upright again after that but once he is, he’s wading into the ankle-deep water.

“Jake?” A voice calls from a few feet up the beach. A loud and low voice that Jake has spent years trying to block out.

He hums dismissively, continuing to kick at the water that’s suddenly gotten halfway up his shin without him moving. At least he doesn’t think he’s moving.

“Jake, come on!” Bradley calls again. “I really don’t want to get my pants wet dragging your ass back to shore!”

Jake waves a hand behind him, “Go away!” he calls back. He just needs a minute to get his head on straight for this conversation. The water’s almost knee length now and his pants are sticking to him annoyingly.

Jake’s pretty sure Bradley says something else but he doesn’t hear it over the waves. The next thing he knows, he’s over someone’s shoulder and getting firemen carried back to shore.

“Hey, you bitch! Put me the hell down before I break your ribs!” Jake screams.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah! You’ve threatened to break my ribs a million times and you’ve only ever bruised them twice. Don’t be a baby!” Bradley says, dropping Jake on his ass in the sand.

Jake shoots up and shoves Bradley back a few steps, who backs up with his hands up in surrender.

“I’m not gonna fight you, Jake. Come on, let’s go inside.”

“No! I’m not going inside!” His words slur together but he stands firm, shoving Bradley’s shoulder again. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me?!”

Bradley pushes forward, putting his hands on Jake’s shoulders and trying to meet his eyes. “What, Jake? Tell you what?”

“About Coyote!” Jake yells, shoving Bradley’s hands off his shoulders and poking his chest firmly. “Why didn’t you tell me that you talked to him about me? About us?!”

Bradley’s face loses most of its colour and he suddenly can’t meet Jake’s eyes despite the blonde’s best efforts. The taller man takes a few steps away from him but Jake pulls him back with a grip on his forearm.

“Why? Why?!”

“I don’t know!” Bradley yells back, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

Jake scoffs without humour, letting go of Bradley’s arm. “What kind of bullshit is that?!”

“Why the hell does it matter?!”

“Because if I had known!” Jake yells, wiping the first tear of the night away from his cheek. “If I had known that you cared that much about-about us. About me! Then I would’ve done something!”

“Done what, Jake?! What would you have done?!” Bradley says, a bit gentler this time after seeing Jake’s tearful eyes.

Jake stalls for a second, taking deep breaths while staring into Bradley’s eyes. He thought about how hard it must’ve been for him to go to Coyote and tell him how much he cared, how determined he had to be to even consider it in the first place.

“Chased down my plane? Handcuff me to the porch rail so I never leave our house again? What?!” Bradley continues before Jake cuts back in.

“That’s the thing about you, Bradshaw, you think that once you’ve set your mind to something there’s no way to get you out of it but I could’ve!” Jake yells, gesturing grandly towards himself. He tries to hide the sniffle and tears coming out of his eyes but they come through in his voice. “I could’ve chased you and fought for you! But I didn’t because I thought you left instead of telling me you didn’t want me!”

“I thought you knew!” Bradley responds emphatically, hands sliding onto Jake’s face to hold him steady. “I thought you knew! From the first day when we kissed on this beach, I thought you knew!”

“Then why?!” Jake says through the stubborn tears he’s trying to hide despite Bradley’s grip on his cheeks. “Why?! Why did you throw it all away! The day after graduation, you just took off! If you loved me that much, why did you leave?!”

Bradley looks down at him, his heart cracking open at the raw hurt pouring out of Jake. His Jake. Even though they’ll never be what they once were, all the good parts of Bradley still belong to him.

“I thought-“ Jake chokes out, his tears sliding down Bradley’s hands and wrist from where they’re still gently pressed against his face.

“All this time I thought you didn’t love me back.” He spits out finally, choked out around the monumental ache in his throat where he’s trying to hold back his sobs.

“I did.” Bradley murmurs back gently. I do.

If you did, why didn’t you say it? Jake thinks, pulling Bradley’s hands away from his face gently and taking a step back toward the Hard Deck.

“I guess not enough.” Jake responds quietly before turning back towards the bar and Coyote’s obviously anxious frame leaning against his truck.

“Jake!” Bradley calls. This time, Jake doesn’t answer. Bradley watches him climb into the passenger seat of Coyote’s truck and disappear into the black of the dark road ahead.

However, a huge weapon has been created that should not have been made. (It's not long since the space war ended, and it seems that there is still a small war in some parts of the universe.) Another missing professor, I'son, runs away with Metaflux.

Then, General Bleylock, who was after him, hurt I'son, dropped metaflux from I'son's hands... and it landed on Akylan's planet. That led to the arrival of the Ice Age on the planet Akillan.

Bleylock : So, Labnor, how does it feel to regain part of your memory. you rest assured that this isn't finished things will start coming back to you little by little that…

Clamp : That…That explosion the glaciation of Akillian. What's that? what's that my fault?

Bleylock : Don't worry Labnor, no one will ever know no one will ever know as long as you do exactly what I ask.

kind of a sad post fyi and major spoilers for the beginning of dndads s2 but i started listening to it recently (pleaseee dont put spoilers in the tags im at ep7) and while listening to ep6 and thinking about sparrow and lark, about how happy and carefree they were at the beginning of s1 and i realized how over time they grew up and became so. sad? as characters? sparrow wishing for his son to be normal and lark betraying his twin by sleeping with his brothers wife like. idk this is hard to articulate but the twins were my favourite kids in s1 (still are, theyre just now super interesting) because they were so funny and so happy and now theyre. in the best way possible, not anymore

id say its because the forgotten realms traumatized them but its not only because of that. they just grew up. and it made me realize that FUCK. despite how much henry loved them and how much they got support and how much he tried, they still turned out like that. and isnt that just what growing up is. isnt that what having kids is. you just physically can not guarantee at all that no matter what you do and what choices you make, that your kids will grow up to be happy. neither can you do that to yourself, not really. you cant fully control what kind of person youll become, just like your parents couldnt when they raised you. idk rambling at this point

Ok, that was A LOT. I have so many feelings but no coherence so i'm gonna do this bullet point form but def not in order, just in order of me remembering wtf happened lol

-IZZY AND WEE JOHN IN DRAG!!!!! Wee John looked STUNNING with that Divine-esque appearance and Izzy had that transmasc drag king kind of thing going on (iykyk) that made me love him even more

-Izzy singing LA VI EN ROSE took me tf out!!! i'm glad he got to finish it after the *ahem* distractions bc Con's voice is so beautiful I could listen to it forever. We better get it in the album!!! Also someone posted the lyrics translated and i cannot get over the lyrics:

THey want different things and neither is wrong or right for that. Stede did react poorly tho but like he just had sex w the love of his life, his first man, and Ed the very next day is like "aight i'm out". I'd be pissed too. After killing someone which we know is a big trigger for him historically.

But Ed also had a valid reaction. He's wanted to retire for a while and stede knows this but it hasn't seemed to have sunk in quite yet. He fears that Stede only sees Blackbeard and...its fair of him to have that impression tbh. These are two messy, traumatized dudes who have never had a real relationship and there's gonna be bumps. I hope we get s3 so we can better explore that like Djenks wants.

Hey! I wanted to ask your interpretation of one scene in ep6: when Lestat in park tells Louis "I love you" And Louis smiles.

I saw different versions: that Lestat was being manipulative here and Louis was smiling bitterly to show us he recognizes it, that Lestat was sincere and Louis was smiling silently because he can only acknowledge that "i love you" but can't bring himself to say it back (understandably), and other versions.

What do you think?

As so many things there can be manipulation in truth, and Lestat mouthing the words there is both desperation and fatality... there is never just one thing one with these two :)

By then he also had Antoinette listening in the park, and was aware that Claudia wanted to leave... him bringing her back was because Louis couldn't be without her and so the words are very bittersweet, too, because he knows what he is about to do will not sit well with Claudia (to put it mildly) while he doesn't see another way for Louis.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS: S3/EP6: AKA LORELAI GILMORE HAS FINALLY LOST HER FEW REMAINING MARBLES (PART 5)

This is going to be a short one because I need as much room as possible for the next scene (if you don't know what it is, you'll know soon) so let's get this out of the way. Lorelai begins to stew in a jealous rage over Sherry and Crusty's Relation-Shit. . So she escapes to the bathroom, where she opens Sherry's medicine cabinet, tilts her picture frames and yanks some towels off the wall.

Okay Lorelai but that was the only thing Sherry got right about the little scheme she hatched to kidnap Rory (again).

A custody battle has broken out out between Sherry and Lorelai as they fight over who gets custody of Rory on weekends, like she's 4 years old or the class hamster. ( as if Rory isn't 18 years old and as if this Creepy Sherry person has any say in absolutely anything ever on Earth). Mini Lorelai Jr. here is a pathological people pleaser and it's pretty much 95% Lorelai Senior's fault she ended up this way, that's why she agrees to everything. Wait, why is Lorelai suddenly taking her anger out on Rory? What is happening? But on the other hand, please, Rory... GROW A SPINE. I'm begging you.

Okay, NOW what crazy nonsense baloney are you on about, woman? Please. Enlighten us on why you wished this unborn child who is not biologically related to you in any way and holds aboslutely no fucking signifiance in your life should have been a boy.

But "I have to do GiGi at 5" is still one of the great unexpected one liners of this season that got a genuine laugh out of me, figures it would have to come from someone so unimportant as Creepy Sherry. I'm just going to quickly summarize Lorelai's break from reality (which she only had an extremely tenuous grasp on to begin with before this point) and why she's mad at Sherry: -Sherry's baby is a girl -Sherry's baby is a scheduled c-section -Sherry enjoys manicures and pedicures (something that is hardly out of reach for middle class peasants like Lorelai, you can even get a manicure at Walmart for Pete’s sake) -Rory and GiGi sound "identical" (Ror-Ee/ Gee-Gee) so Sherry is stealing her baby’s name from 18 years ago -Sherry referred to Gigi as a "ballerina" -Sherry has a personal preference for the color green instead of pink for her infant girl --Lorelai hates the jazz music being played at the baby shower; she's also upset imainging that Sherry is forcing her poor Crusty to listen to boring jazz against his will, tainting his apparently perfect taste in CrustyMusic (and I wish Sherry would force Crusty listen to so much boring jazz that he falls asleep and starts sleepwalking and walks through a plate glass window, but we can't always get what we want can we Lorelai) -Sherry had the unmitigated gall to pick up Crusty's cd collection from piles on the floor and organize the cds neatly onto a shelf (this one really upset her) -Lorelai is laboring under not one but two simulatenous insane delusions, one being that Sherry is desperate to copy her right down to her (ADULT) child's (not choose-able) sex and name, but at the same time Sherry is also sticking her nose up at Lorelai’s unremarkable middle class-ish motherhood with her trim pregnancy figure, fancy scheduled birth, organized home, sophisticated taste in music and pedicures -Lorelai wants to "mess up her bed" and "rearrange her whole house" and "un color coordinate her sheets" as if poor Sherry's bed hasn't already been tainted by having sex with Crusty on those sheets -Lorelai wasted her day because she could have been out shoe shopping instead of attending this baby shower (who's fault is this? I thought Rory had a driver's license? What ever happened to that? Why couldn't Rory drive up to Boston alone? You offered to take her). -Lorelai asks Rory if she could set Sherry's house on fire.

An Offer from an Avid Reader: Benedict S4: From chillin' to conflictin'

I've finally done it. This is my main ideas for Benedict;s character arc this season. A summary of previous points, then an episode by episode look at how this arc plays out...alongside some BB GIFS ofcourse...

Shall we go?

Summary of my previous points:

Benedict Bridgerton is an emotionally astute caretaker for his family. This could stem from Benedict having to step up as emotional support for his siblings after his father’s death. Consequently, Benedict prioritises others before himself, and has not had the space to work out who he is outside of his family. (full post here)

Benedict enjoys and is not intimidated by strong-willed woman, whether in conversation or in his bed.

Benedict’s previous relationships show that he does not tie ones worth to their class, but treats women as equals. (full post here)

However, while Benedict has all these wonderful personality traits, he has one slightly problematic one—his passivity. He does not actively seek out new things, they happen to him, whether that be relationships or new ideas—like the idea of lavender marriages in S1. In the words of Daphne Bridgerton during Pall Mall...

Benedict is a solid shot but avoids conflict.

While Benedict makes plenty of jokes at his siblings’ expense, they are never cruel and always accompanied by a jovial tone.

Even his constant jokes through a stressful situation, (like his moo at the Danbury Ball in S2) reflect how Benedict wishes to set everyone at ease.

Benedict enjoys women speaking their mind, like Eloise or Kate, but only supports and listens—not necessarily encouraging them.

And Benedict does challenge Anthony, but ultimately Anthony steam-rolls Benedict who then relents.

The fencing scene, the poetry scene—especially this scene. Benedict literally lets Anthony take his poem for his own purposes after explicitly telling Anthony that poetry is not deceitful.

As seen through the art academy arc in S2, Benedict is nervous and constantly seeking the approval of others. AKA he is trying to appease expectations rather than challenge them.

So…Benedict is a solid shot but avoids conflict, therefore he must overcome this to gain his happy ending.  We have been shown that he has the interest and the capacity, he just needs the catalyst.

Enter Sophie Beckett, stage Left.

Asking Sophie to become his mistress is easy—he does not even need to let anyone know she is his mistress, not the ton nor his family. Marrying Sophie would be in direct conflict with his family and the ton.

There a couple of other mini-arcs that Benedict ill need to go on, but all that link with this main one.

Drinking to painting. I think we can all see thar the writers seem to be using alcohol to sho Benedict's deterioration—a coping mechanism. In season 4, ith the arrival of Spohie we need to see this behaviour gradually cease (correlated with his love for Sophie), and his art replacing it as a coping mechanism. (see my little delineation of scenes below).

We also have a secondary storyline concerning Benedict—not necessarily a character arc. AKA his family becoming aware of his emotional support role.

His friendship with Will Mondrich.

Now, I am going to go sequentially through the series to show the broad trajectory of Benedict’s arc. Below each episode will also be a list of key scenes that are primarily about Benedict and not necc. overlapping with other storylines. (the episode titles are jokes apart from ep6).

Episode 1:

First scene: Masquerade ball from Benophie's perspective.

Second scene: Benedict waking up in a bed from that dream, alone and murmuring “I do not belong here.”

Here we see Benedict lost. Maybe he is waking up after a party, maybe he is just in his bachelor lodgings, but we see a lack of co-ordination, a lack of care in his motions. We see Benedict throughout the episode putting on a face for his family, insisting he’s ‘fine’ and that ‘second sons don’t have problems’ when the viewer sees how much he yearns for family and love. (Inc. a scene with cute domestic Kanthony family).

Violet Bridgerton, bless her heart, is trying the only way she knows how—match-making. It gets to the point that Benedict feels suffocated and decides to take a break from the city and go back to the country at the first opportunity—Cavendar’s party.

Once more we see that hedonism is not fulfilling Benedict and as in the book he wishes to leave and stumbles into Sophie et co. (See written scene here.).

Then we have him on the road home with Sophie. And after laughing (in relief) at escaping Cavendar, Sophie breaks down into tears—a miutre of frustration, relief and terror at that night and the last two years of her life. Benedict pauses—propriety dictates that she shouldn’t embrace her, but his heart says he should. He breaks propriety and embraces her—a little glimpse of what is to come.

Episode 2: My, my, my Cottage…

Read up on my posts about My cottage for more details about specifics. Jus picture Benedict looking at Sophie like above... (Part 1, 2, 3)

Essentially Sophie and Benedict acting unselfconsciously around each other. Benedict finally being able to be himself and not Bridgerton no.2.

Episode 3: The Bridgerton Logic is present—back in London.

We have the lake scene (written here), which leaves Benedict frustrated and confused. At this point, (using the ever-reliable Bridgerton logic) he doesn’t know whether this thing with Sophie is more than a mistress…but ofcourse there is the Lady in Silver. He goes to Grandma Alexandra to talk, and she gives him wise words of wisdom.

Flashback during this: Viewer understands that Benedict never fights/gets into conflict because he spent his time ensuring the peace within family post-Edmund’s death. This scene includes how Grandma Alexandra was the only one who saw his turmoil and helped him cope through art. (This shows that Art—not alcohol—should be his coping mechanism. It reinforces that art is intrinsically part of him—not just a talent).

After this, instead of asking Sophie to be his mistress, he persuades her to return to London and Aubrey Hall—if he can’t have her then he will atleast keep her safe.  Travel back to London where Benedict tries to ease an anxiety-ridden Sophie but everything is wrong, slightly off-kilter with the couple leaving him frustrated.

Primary Scenes:

Scene: Lake.

Scene: Grandma Alexandra tete-a-tete->establish their obvious closeness

Scene: Flashback into Benedict’s role post-Edmund’s death.

Carriage scene: Benophie on their way back to London, tries to comfort a ‘panicky’/anxious ridden Sophie. (inc. “plotting your demise” dialogue). Drops off Sophie at Madame Delacroix’s for the night—which does not help his case. Introduces him to his mother etc. (as in book).

Episode 4: Toeing the line.

Benedict shifts from previous wooing experiences, to start solely caring about Sophie’s wellbeing. And he does numerous things to aid this.

Family sees a shift in Benedict’s mental health—he is not drinking that much (if at all), he is back to joking/teasing and smiling more easily. Most attribute this to country air. Well, almost everyone—mothers are far more perceptive after all.

 (Concurrently we have Sophie being isolated by maids, insights into Sophie’s backstory and Sophie& Eloise relationship)

Primary Scenes:

Scene: 1st tea with Bridgertons-> heavy Sophie flirting.

 Scene: Lounging on servant’s stairs scene-> Sophie gives him a wakeup call

Scene: Asking Mrs Wilson about how Sophie is doing.

Scene: Poetry competition…continues.

Episode 5: Pushed over the line.

First half sees Benedict taking care of Sophie in little moments and in a scene where we see him wishing to ease her emotional burden. We also have little visual clues that he is painting again—although no one realises.

Second half is Grandma Alexandra’s death, which pushes Benedict back into his role as emotional support, forced to shun his own grief to support his siblings. (More on that in Grandma Alexandra’s post). But this time, Sophie helps him—in two key scenes. At My Cottage we had Benedict caring for Sophie (physically and emotionally) when she became injured. Now it is the reverse; Sophie shares his burden, allows him to grieve and comforts him. And after the second scene of Sophie aiding Benedict, as he watches her walk away he whispers.

“I love you.”

This is Benedict’s turning point. Benedict has shifted from wishing/delighting in Sophie to yearning for her. He understands he loves her, and he now knows that he wants and needs her in his life.

Furthermore, this episode highlights to Violet and Anthony about the toils Benedict has truly been under, something that continues in episode 6 (and in another post).

Primary Scenes:

Montage (of all different storylines)-> various little moments of poetry exchange.

Scene: Rewritten Garden scene-> becomes the ‘swing scene’ with Benedict supporting Sophie rather than riling her up. Inc. “your secrets are eating you alive”

Scene: Benedict being the emotional support animal of the Bridgertons to the MA, while squashing his own feelings.

Scene: Sophie comforting Benedict, allowing him to grieve: inc. ‘you have the soul of an artist’ & potentially the ‘you’re different from your family’ speech.

Scene: Lovingly watching Sophie tell stories to his sisters-> filling a role he usually did back when Edmund died. His secret love declaration.

Episode 6: An Offer From A Gentleman (Official title)

This is the height of Benedict’s internal conflict. This is where we get yearning looks, frustration, the jealousy etc.

And this is where various scenes, and various encounters inspire/encourage him to take that step into conflict—by proposing to marry Sophie after their lovemaking. Not for convenience, not for honour, but because he loves her. (I do have this scene semi written already if people want it).

But ofcourse…it takes two to tango and Sophie still refuses due to a combination of not feeling worthy/deserving of a happily ever after, and not wishing to estrange Benedict from his family (knowing all too well how lucky he is to have such a family).

Benedict is left heartbroken, regressing back into alcohol as Sophie regresses and bottles up her feelings.

Primary scenes:

Scene: Jealousy over Francesca and John that leads to Anthony and Benedict on the swings where yearning hearts are revealed (almost).

Scene: Wise advice from Mary Sharma

Scene: Realisation that Sophie is Lady in Silver (leaves him in shock, not anger)

Scene: Confrontation with Genevieve Delacroix.

Scene: Will and Benedict reach revelations. (scene here)

Scene: Benedict starts to paint… (mini snapshot scene)

Scene: Benedict helping Sophie from Araminta (as in book). Sofa Scene & its fallout. Heartbroken Benedict.

Episode 7: Guns blazing.

Most of Benedict’s arc is over now. The last hurdle is learning that one step into conflict is good, but sometimes you have to continue, you have to push yourself forward. And with a little inspiration from Eloise, he does so.

Benedict is isolating himself from his family. However, we see that instead of drinking he is using art to console himself/coping mechanism. Also, his family is more concerned for they have learnt that Benedict’s typical isolation is not actually a need for refuge but because he is spiralling.

Inspired by Eloise, Benedict decides to write a love letter, something that means he can continue trying to persuade her but respecting her boundaries by giving her the choice to read the letter or not. Unbeknownst to him, Sophie is also writing a letter…a resignation letter.

And then the next day, (after a ball) his sisters + Kate come to visit to check up on him. Eventually they talk about teh ball last night and how they got into a confrontation with Lady Penwood. Due to the Penwood servant scandal published recently, Lady Pewnood had been trying to save face. But the Bridgerton girlies clashed when defending a former maid (Nadia, a maid who went to work for Penwoods but returned to the Bridgertons worse for wear). And in that altercation they mention Sophie.

Benedict's tea cup shatters on the ground.

His sisters get increasingly concerned as Benedict seems unaturally agitated, drilling them about how much they revealed and when Daphne explains that they merely revealed Sophie's name and affiliation with the Bridgertons—she has not finished her sentence before Benedict is hastily making the way to the door, his face pale, barely able to explain himself when his sisters press him.

And now we see Benedict Bridgerton striding into Bridgerton house demanding to know where Sophie is. He does not care that his utter terror, his utter desperation, is conveying how in love he is with Sophie. He does not care about revealing that he proposed to her—he just needs Sophie to be safe. Calm, easy-going Benedict is now crying out at his family in unchecked emotion, (no longer hiding his emotions as before). Benedict Bridgerton is shouting at his sisters, his mother, all for the woman he loves. Even though the viewer is seeing, in tandem, scenes of Sophie’s arrest and imprisonment.

END EPISODE

Primary Scenes:

Scene: From partying to painting

Scene: Eloise confrontation and discussion (in a studio—not on swings)

Scene: Benedicy's sisters come over for tea and reveal that Araminta knows Sophie's location.

Scene: Benedict Bridgerton unleashing his love and feelings

Episode 8: Benedict Bridgerton don’t give two—

In this episode, Benedict is no longer hiding his affection nor intentions about Sophie, especially while he spends two/three days scouring the city for her.

Of course we see real confrontational Benedict when he gets to the jail—lets have the scene of him punching the warden because he made a comment about Sophie. Let’s have Benedict reuniting with Sophie—oh and standing up to Araminta and professing how deeply in love with her he is.

Then Jail scene. This can stay the same—let’s turn comedy gold into comedy platinum. Posy, Benedict proposing, Violet being a badass with-a-capital-M Mama.

After this we have the rest of the episode being happy Benophie, with Benedict not caring for stupid ton rules or whispers as shown at the final ball of the season. As soon as Araminta legitimises Sophie to the King, he stays by her side, dances with her then makes a formal down-on-one knee proposal on the terrace—a mirror to the one two years previously.

The final scene of the entire season is Benedict waking up in bed, heart hammering, terrified—his hand runs over his wife’s hip, and he looks down on a sleeping Sophie next to him. He smiles, settles and whispers against her curls;

This is where I belong.

Primary Scenes:

Scene: getting aid from Ginny an Anthony-> both of them (closest person to Benedict, closest person to Sophie) coming to see how in love the pair are.

Scene: Punch the man! Or the warden.

Scene: Jail scene, jail scene.

Scene: Return to Bridgerton House and sneaking into the bathroom. Bathroom scene—a proper reunification and romanticising. (Yes they do not get into seggsy times at the bathroom, but I'll get into that in another post).

Scene: Bridgerton family dinner. A scene that establishes how natural Benophie are as well as how in love they are with one another. Also shows how Sophie slips into family.

Scene: Ball legitimising Sophie. Dancing and proposing to Sophie (properly).

Montage scenes: Wrapping up of loose ends for all storylines. Benedict courting Sophie. Sitting close to one another at F&J’s wedding.  

Final scene/epilogue: Wedding & wedding night intimate scene. Final shot.

Summary

So there you have it. Throughout the season Benedict is constantly pushed due to his feelings for Sophie to disrupt not only his own beliefs, his family and the ton. But after all is that not what his heart desires?

okay, i swear when i said what i said about Olivia Rodrigo i didn't know that a Nico Collins song was going to come on next! i actually do know a couple of Nico Collins songs (Borderline, Hate Me, and Our Way Out), and i think James did a lovely rendition. it's fun that Aiden and James now both have white princely outfits, even if Aiden's is more royal while James' is admittedly a prom king fit. it's interesting to me that Lake expresses worries that staying in the game longer might have made her a worse person too, given that that's the moral Ellie wound up learning this season. i guess Lake is just the master of seeing herself in Season 1's most morally gray contestants. i'd say it was a redhead connection, but even in greetings i've never seen Jake with fully red hair.

oh, so Lake does canonically live with Rosa now! i thought she might've just been visiting Rosa on vacation or something. that's a pretty big move, to go from living in Germany with your family to living in Mexico with someone you only met a few weeks ago, but Lake's family sucks and Rosa is awesome, so i understand where Lake is coming from.

the trick that Tom was referring to was actually the one that Alec and Fiore came up with in Season 1, to have Ellie lie to Jake to tear Tom and Jake apart. i actually hadn't realized myself that Jake had been told that Tom had a boyfriend other than him twice, in s1 and DCAS. if i had a nickel...

anyways, Tom's outfit is super cute! i like how it's still predominantly blue, like he was still on the Cyan team but he tried to sneak over and pretend to be Magenta instead.

WOAH, English Tom and Spanish Tom sound way more similar than i'd realized. i couldn't even tell at first when the English greeting switched to the Spanish one. his new hairstyle is very interesting, and very idol-esque. i wonder if the patches on his jacket have any meaning other than looking nice.

that power scream was so funny. i know that people were (lovingly) making fun of Raitix with how hard he went on the wolf howl in the Patron name readings after he was eliminated, so i wonder if making him yell was at all inspired by that. also, i don't think i've ever heard anyone describe what Goku is wearing as "classy" before. between this and the My Hero Academia knowledge, Alec seems to be shaping up as a secret anime nerd.

"slander Jake? that's way too easy, where do i even start?" giant Fiore does sound like a gag that the show would pull that's very in-character. i wonder who in the heroes alliance would have been the best at taking her down, if you imagine that Fiore came back instead of Connor. maybe Ally, if she could stretch up close to Fiore's height? or, i guess if Aiden could, like, run through the meat of Fiore's leg like he ran through Alec's entire body, he could incapacitate her pretty easily. Aiden is kinda OP.

i... did not realize that Ashley was friends with Tess or Ellie, but, you go girl. she does seem to have the ability to be friends with anyone. i was wondering if, as an artist, Tess would pick something more along the lines of illusions or being able to bring anything she drew to life, but being a healer totally fits with her sweet personality. maybe she could have helped Ally and Connor after Yul, Grett, and Gabby got to them.
