As for Aymeric…

Long story short, they never fostered an actual real relationship before just getting in the nitty gritty of intimacy because it is my religious belief that Aymeric is deeply repressed like a Catholic maiden and Utushama kept just leaving for MSQ immediately the day after they’d fool around. Utushama assumed they were on the same page (this wouldn’t work because they have conflicting responsibilities) (this is also kind of an excuse, he’s starting to develop a pattern of starting something, ditching ASAP, and then using MSQ as a noble excuse) but they weren’t really. I love to pretend Lucia is mad at him for this because it made Endwalker kind of funny. Usual spoiler warning for everything ahead!

Short story long, after the Dragonsong War’s end, they kept things entirely professional including their dinner and dealing w the aftermath of it all but were slowly (and I mean SLOWLY) building a tension between them like it was a Victorian period drama. Like, a show of ankle would give Aymeric a heart attack at this point. So they had two days of building up to this that no one in the world could’ve possibly guessed was any kind of build up to anything followed by one night of Halone-dishonoring acts (initiated by Utushama because why not. Why not hit and run the beautiful President of Dragon Catholics City after you saved them all. Especially after increasingly escalating moments of barely repressed interest). And immediately after, without explanation or any warning, Utushama left for MSQ, with the assumption that they were both in agreement that they couldn’t have an actual relationship because one of them loves their country more than anything else in the world and the other is a traveling adventurer. He didn’t say this because it was so obvious to him but Aymeric was obviously left a little confused and feeling slightly abandoned but bigger things at stake, y’know.

And then they meet again when Ala Mhigo is liberated because all the Eorzean Alliance leaders are there and Utushama is feeling very disoriented and bad because Zenos just killed himself in front of him, denying him of any closure to the distress he’s been feeling for all of Stormblood. And they are once again very professional as if they hadn’t explored each other’s bodies that one time. Aymeric invites him to dinner again and when the subject of trying to define their relationship is brought up, Utushama deflects by hitting him point-blank with the “ok, do you want to do that again” and Aymeric is flustered enough by this that despite being a very savvy politician, the Catholic maiden part of him overrides the many slightly orange flags. Once again, Utushama slips away without warning immediately after.

They don’t speak again until right after the Ghimlyt Dark, wherein canon provided me a lovely moment of quiet between the two of them. Utushama, being injured, is then unable to escape from this conversation that Aymeric begins, wherein Aymeric himself first confesses to hoping to be something more serious, to which Utushama answers in a manner that is between bafflement and regret that they weren’t ever going to be a thing (because again, he thought they were on the same page about this). Aymeric is sad but can see the logic in this and admits that Utushama deserves someone who cares more about him than their political responsibilities, who could and would follow him to the ends of the earth. (There is no reason for him to be so self-deprecating on the matter because it’s not as if he were the one at fault for this, but Utushama just has a way of making people feel bad for wanting reasonable things from him. It’s kind of cruel of him but he also is entirely unaware that he’s doing this.) This is a fun bit of foreshadowing for me personally because this could mean anyone but should the monkey’s paw curl, that sure does describe a certain horrible prince he despises. But after accidentally doing all that to Aymeric, maybe he does deserve to be tormented. Just a little. I’ve been following a sort of narrative path wherein anyone who likes Utushama for being a hero figure can’t actually get with him for good because they’re enabling his bad habits and it’s going to end badly.

Anyway, all this made the Endwalker casting quests very fun because they just kind of josh around lightly and even reference their old fling without it being a whole thing and it feels like the weight of whatever they were doing is off Aymeric now so he’s able to be confident and normal again. If they ever fool around again post-Endwalker, it’s noticeably different because Aymeric has moved past the whole blushing maiden for the hero role. Utushama is admittedly kind of. Strangely sad to see him move past him but by then knows that it was probably for the best. It’s just hard for him to even metaphorically feel like he’s the one being left behind. And Lucia is no longer mad at him but it’s really funny to let him keep thinking she is!

So yeah, his relationship with Aymeric is kind of tangled and convoluted and despite indulging once or twice, he doesn’t actually seem to like talking about it beyond whatever’s professional because he’s just very private. I’ve no idea what the general consensus is on Aymeric and Estinien’s relationship but I imagine it was much more straightforward than this. Utushama inadvertently projects and assumes it was just as complicated based on the way Estinien talks about Aymeric in MSQ tidbits but I think it’s funnier if it was actually relatively tame and Estinien is just being dramatic.

[REVIEW] Her Love in the Force: Ayumu Shinonome - Who I Once Was

I got some pretty good reception on my previous Episode 0 review, so I thought I would share my thoughts on Shinonome’s Who I Once Was as well. It’s not so much a review as much as just my personal thoughts on what this Episode 0 contributes to Ayumu’s past and future, some character analysis on Shinonome, Naru, AyumuxMC, Team Kaga, and why I think it tells us a lot about how I think Ayumu’s Love’s Trial route might play out.

Ayumu’s whole season so far has gone in a pretty different direction from everyone else’s. For example, one of the biggest differences is that his Love’s Battlefield route actually focusses more on his development rather than his MC’s (who frankly… gets little to no development). This is due to another big difference, which is how the role of Tsugaru is used to emphasise the changing dynamic between him and his MC due to their change in hierarchical divide. (I’m also currently working on a piece about how the MC’s dynamic with Team Tsugaru is used as a plot device for the key character and relationship developmental themes and how this differs from route to route, as well as what is consistent.) His Episode 0 does a similar thing.

When I read Soma’s Who I Once Was, it thrilled me because it helped contextualise and provide insight into his character by letting me retrospectively analyse his behaviours and traits in his earlier routes. This was important information since Soma is someone who doesn’t change much before and after joining Public Safety; his MC is the one who has the biggest effect on his changing attitude (and it’s something that he is conflicted about even into his second season). Therefore, his Episode 0 helped develop a more well-rounded picture of the version of him that we actually get to see. Ayumu’s Who I Once Was does the opposite thing for me. While Ayumu’s Ep 0 does provide a lot more information about his past that we have never heard of (almost everything that happens in Kaga, Goto and Soma’s routes are things that they have already mentioned), what this does is help set up the direction that Ayumu’s future route is heading towards. If Goto’s and Soma’s Episode 0s help us understand where they came from, Ayumu’s tells us where he is going.

Typically, the rest of the PSD instructors join Public Safety to fulfil their vendettas, except Ishigami whose reason for joining Public Safety (apart from maybe his sister’s case) is never explicitly stated afaik because his Episode 0 is literally just about academy life with Kaga lmao. However, Ayumu has no personal tragedy that leads him specifically to Public Safety. He ends up there because of his own mistakes, and the act of joining Public Safety alone helps him to develop a sense of purpose. Contrast this with Goto and Soma, who are still lost in the mist of grief and vengeance even after joining Public Safety, or Kaga, who literally only just got closure on one aspect of his motivation and is still working on the other. For the others, joining Public Safety is a stepping stone to helping them get to where they want to be. For Ayumu, Public Safety finally gives him a sense of purpose and choice, meaning that the Ayumu we see in his MS1 is already markedly different from the version of him we see here in his Episode 0. Later, I will expand on why this is still not entirely him going on his ‘own’ path, but it is still a significant decision nonetheless.

The path that brings Ayumu to Public Safety is influenced most strongly by two reasons, the former of which is influenced by the latter, and they are: (1) ennui; (2) his love for Sachi.

You may be thinking: how could you leave out Naru, who orchestrates the entire string of events that leads to Ayumu even first getting involved with the police? That’s because the reason that Naru even comes to learn of Ayumu is because of Ayumu’s ennui. So let’s begin with that.

Ayumu’s ennui stems from his privilege and his sense of obligation. We learn that he’s studying at T University (presumably Todai, a.k.a. Tokyo University, one of the country’s most elite institutions) to take over his family’s business (which is in electronics), but that he finds this unsatisfying. Because he thinks that he was adopted just to be the successor to the illustrious Shinonome house, he feels like he has to fulfil his role as heir. However, this is something that he finds personally unfulfilling. The reason for this is partially that he is just a genius who needs more intellectual stimulation. But more significantly, this is because he is struggling with his internal conflict over obligation to his parents (becoming the heir to Kochi Electronics) and his feelings for Sachi (becoming a police officer in the hopes that he will recognise him as her hero). Ayumu is someone who we know to be extremely concerned about his image – not just in the literal, physical sense, but also his whole persona. We know that Ayumu doesn’t even like to show his true self to his own parents; the only person that he’s ever been truly vulnerable around is Goldie. He protects his true feelings well and is quite prone to doing things to keep up an impression that other people have of him. At the same time, he is also someone who is not very communicative, and can often make assumptions about people’s intentions. This is one of the reasons why he is so inherently burdened by what he perceives to be the expectations of others.

Anyway, the different mindsets that he holds regarding these two options are illustrated particularly effectively through the two groups of his university ‘friends’. On the one hand, you have the guys, who are little more than schmoozy jerks who are only interested in one night stands and talking about their sexual conquests. They represent life as a future CEO, where Ayumu would be forced to network with people (and perhaps even become the type of person) who he finds shallow and frankly not worth his time.

On the other hand, there’s Suo, who represents both a more idealistic and meaningful type of future and a choice that goes along with Ayumu’s goal of being Sachi’s hero, but this path is also something that he clearly is unsure about. Both of these options are ones which are based on what Ayumu thinks that other people want him to do, not because of his personal interest. This is why, quite predictably for a genius but also because he is trapped in a place where he feels he has no real control, Ayumu ends up unfulfilled.

This lack of fulfilment leads him to partake in something that is genuinely a personal interest of his: hobby hacking. We can tell that this is actually fulfilling to him not just because he’s exceptionally talented, does it a lot and says he enjoys it, but also because hacking is the only thing that he is sure about. This is expressed through the directness of his hacking style, which Naru becomes attracted to and praises as “straight to the goal, like a comet”. And this is why I would argue that Naru is less responsible for Ayumu’s ultimate trajectory than Ayumu’s own tedium, because it is the tedium and indecisiveness that Naru takes advantage of the most.

Kinda weird that they didn’t use a close up sprite of Shinonome to match Naru’s one tho.

If you’ve played Ayumu’s Battlefield route, it’ll come as no surprise to you to know that Naru is manipulative. Honestly, I would go as far as to say I find him to be one of the most terrifying villains throughout HLITF. I won’t go too far into his character, but I want to talk a bit about the relationship between him and Ayumu. For all of his smarts, Ayumu falls into Naru’s trap so easily. This is because Naru recognises and targets certain weaknesses that he picks up, such as Ayumu’s disdain for those around him, which is why he taunts him that he can do better than being friends with those “kids” whose conversation is “way below your level”.

He’s both stroking Ayumu’s ego and affirming his belief that the uni friends are immature. He does the same thing with the job situation, taunting him not just about Ayumu’s consideration of applying for a civil servant position but also about taking over the family business. Here, he recognises that Ayumu has reservations about both, and seduces him into taking a third option beyond those two: to focus on his hacking and join forces. Naru shows him that his current situation isn’t enough for someone as great as him, recognising Ayumu’s tedium and showing him a dangerous, challenging world.

Ayumu becomes tempted. I think the biggest clue that he has actually fallen into the trap deliberately set by Naru comes at this one point, where we see Ayumu’s internal monologue about how he is spending more and more time with Naru and on the hacking forum. He thinks that he should quit soon, since he was treating it just as a challenge and now knows where his level is. Naru interrupts this line of thought, saying “Too sweet”. He is commenting on the peach nectar, saying that it’s literally too sweet (too much sugar), but the same word 甘い in Japanese is also used to mean naïve, meaning that Naru could be calling Ayumu naïve (for being so easily manipulated). Obviously, Naru probably isn’t responding to Ayumu’s internal monologue since he can’t read minds, but from a reader’s perspective, I think that moment was quite deliberate. Maybe I’m just reading too much into things, but I found it to be both very clever and also quite haunting, especially since the next move that Naru makes is his first attempt to propose the hacking duel which ends up being a trap for Ayumu to allow Naru to steal confidential NPA data.

It’s also clever that Suo interrupts before he can go through with this proposal, since wholesome Suo represents an idealistic path towards justice.

Anyway, even after Naru, who has more or less lured Ayumu almost completely to the dark side, actually successfully proposes that battle, there is one thing stopping him from going through with it, and that leads us on to point number 2.

Let’s talk about Sachi.

She, and his love for her, are the only reason why he’s even considering a future in law enforcement at first. He says as much, that it’s not his dream.

Those typical Ayumu character traits that I previously discussed in relation to his relationship with his parents make their reappearance. Firstly, the fact that he feels like he needs to keep up a certain image, which is demonstrated when he drinks coffee in front of her and lies about no longer drinking sweet beverages. In this case, he is trying to perform maturity. Secondly, his feeling of obligation: he feels obliged to Sachi to fulfil his promise that he’ll become a police officer in her stead. Thirdly, the fact that this feeling is self-imposed. Sachi never explicitly said “I want you to become a police officer.” He made that promise of his own accord, assuming that’s what she wanted. Ayumu is doing everything that he thinks is expected of him.

(We later find out that she never forgot and he was just assuming that she did)

Even his disillusionment at uni life and his friends to some extent stems from his feelings for Sachi. The main reason he sees those friends as immature is because they talk about nothing but girls and hooking up, even when they are getting top scores in tests. He even actively separates himself from them in this regard: when he thinks about their girl chat, his mind drifts to Sachi and he thinks about how he’s different.

Ayumu is a fool for love. We see the same thing happen over and over again even with his own MC: he’s surprisingly (not that surprising anymore haha) childish and emotional when it comes to his feelings. He is a one-woman man through and through, to the point where he is literally so head over heels that he often allows his feelings towards the subject of his love to dictate his actions. We like to think that Ayumu is so clever and calm and logical – and he can be, when it comes to work – but every mistake he makes in his Episode 0 is the result of an uncontrolled emotional response to being hurt by Sachi. He lost his virginity to a random one night stand when Sachi went on an overnight trip with her teacher. He’s resigned to throw away a future in law enforcement as a way to get back at Sachi because he thinks she’s forgotten her words.

Think about it: he has no personal negative feelings about the police, not in the way that Soma does, for example. He sees the police agency as a place that’s associated with a promise with Sachi, and how he wants to be seen by her. I previously mentioned that Ayumu is someone who cares a lot about how people see him and is weighed down by a feeling of obligation that he imposes on himself. Thus, when he thinks that she isn’t even thinking of him anymore, he decides to go through with hacking them as a way to get back at her as well as to throw away his heavy feeling of obligation towards that promise. To be honest, every time he threw everything down just to listen to Sachi talk about another man was devastating to read every time. My heart just ached.

However, despite being the reason why he ultimately chooses to give in to Naru’s manipulation, Sachi is the one element about Ayumu that Naru doesn’t know about. What Naru doesn’t know is that all of these emotions that he used to taunt Ayumu lead back to Ayumu’s feelings for Sachi. Those college friends’ talk of hooking up is cheap next to his feelings for Sachi. His indecision over career is due to his internal conflict over whether he will just have his heart broken again. We know that his parents are such great people and keep encouraging him to do what he wants to do, but Ayumu actively chooses to disregard their sentiments in order to keep himself trapped as an excuse.

To be honest, I think he is choosing to be in denial since he knows that even if he does go through his promise to Sachi and becomes a police officer, it wouldn’t change the fact that she loves some other guy, but he just is too afraid to admit that to himself honestly. He wants the choice to be taken away from him so he doesn’t have to take responsibility for the outcome. Let’s be real, refusing to admit his honest feelings to himself is one of Ayumu’s defining traits lol.

This is why I truly believe that Ayumu is the one man in HLITF who loves the hardest. At the end of the day, all of Ayumu’s choices and mistakes in his Episode 0 come down to his feelings for Sachi. His indecisiveness over his career, his disdain for college talk about hooking up, his conflicting feelings about law enforcement, even his choice to ultimately join Public Safety, almost his entire identity is based around Sachi. Personally, I really appreciate that the writers didn’t underplay how important she was to him and almost his entire past just to appease readers who want to forget about her. Even when the choice to join law enforcement becomes his own choice (bc of the bombing incident), he still relies on Sachi for strength.

The reason I feel that way is because this is a demonstration of how strong Ayumu’s love is, but also because it just goes to show how much his MC changed him to make him able to forget about someone as important as Sachi and fall in love with her instead. And this is also why I believe, in Ayumu’s future Love’s Trial route, that Naru will be defeated because he will not be able to understand the level of depth and dedication that Ayumu’s love truly reaches, and how his words, actions, thoughts and entire world are shaped by his love for his girl.

Let’s revisit those three points of his character that I mentioned previously and see how they relate to his relationship with his MC – more specifically, how she has managed to overcome them.

1. Needing to project a certain image. This defence mechanism is something that HLITF MC gradually wore down over the years through her relentless pestering but is dealt with most explicitly in Our Graduation Epilogue chapter 3. She wants to be his home, i.e. the place where he can be himself entirely without any pretence of trying to be cool.

2. His feeling of obligation. This is something that isn’t as clear cut as a promise, but I would say that the closest thing to obligation here would be his role as her instructor. I think this is one of the reasons that he is so adamant about maintaining that teacher/student boundary and why he has always worked to bring out her innate strengths, because he feels obliged to her as an educator and mentor and that he has to fulfil this duty to her. That’s why he gets so worried about losing that dynamic, because he’s worried that he’ll lose his worth to her when that role no longer exists and that she won’t need him anymore. Luckily, she disproves that for him and shows that she’s actually more excited for that boundary to be dispersed.

3. Being assumptive/imposing burdens on himself. This is related to what I previously explained about his anxieties. But also, jumping to conclusions is something that we see Ayumu doing throughout the first two seasons and substories as well. These two are constantly getting into arguments because of miscommunication, particularly in substories (the ones that come to mind the most are Temptation Lingerie, 夏、ほてりが冷めるまで and Surprise Date Love Story). But luckily, we know that things always work out because he’s just so in love with her haha and because she’s so unwavering in her love for him~

Naru is formidable. I really think the second half of Ayumu’s S3 is going to be one of the most intense routes in the entire game because he is a direct nemesis who just seems like an anarchistic edgelord, not a whole terrorist group or organisation that has a goal wider than just chaos. He’s clever and crafty, and I believe his hacking skills will be at least on par with Ayumu’s (i.e. I think Ayumu will find it challenging to go against him technically). I think he will be furious that someone of Ayumu’s talent has been coopted by Public Safety, of all people, and he will do anything he can to get his ‘friend’ back with him, perhaps employing the same types of taunting and tempting techniques that he used in this Episode 0.

What will separate the two will be what Ayumu will do for, and with, his MC. The one key point that Naru was missing the first time was that Ayumu’s decisions were ultimately swayed by Sachi, because you know he would have exploited that weakness if he had known. And I believe he will miss that point again this time when he tries to take Ayumu back. He already knows that Ayumu cares for his MC but what he won’t realise that Ayumu’s love can strengthen him now; it’s not a weakness. Plus, Ayumu has already demonstrated, and is now even more explicit about, how far he is willing to go to help her. Also, if he has to battle Naru, he won’t be doing it alone. He has the love of his life, who he personally trained into a specialist, fighting alongside him.

Anyway, that’s enough speculating from me. I don’t have the energy at the moment to articulate in detail about the ways in which Ayumu and his MC love each other, but I’m sure it’s obvious to all of you who have read his routes and fallen in love with him. I just want to mention some things that I loved about this route.

The great thing about every Episode 0 route is that all of the characters are still extremely flawed even at the end, which allows us to get a good sense of how they got from point A (life before PS) to point B (joining PS), and then how that then brings them to point C (meeting and falling in love with you). I mentioned before that joining Public Safety is still not really Ayumu’s own choice. This is because he’s still madly in love with Sachi, and his choice is still at least partially because of her words, although also because of all his mistakes. Also, speaking of mistakes, man does Ayumu make a whole lot of them here.

I really enjoyed seeing him get thrown into a position where he suddenly becomes startingly aware of his relatively privileged life, which also contributes to his sense of ennui btw, and become forced to question huge questions about life, death and morality. Considering all this happens in about 5 years and he presumably spent a couple years at the Police Academy before entering Public Safety, it made me realise that Ayumu learned and matured really quickly. The Ayumu we know now is so much more experienced that it was really fun seeing him basically just be a dumb kid who think he’s so great getting caught up in something bigger than he could have ever imagined. The bombing issue is Ayumu learning what being truly powerless really means. Choosing between life in IT or life in the police becomes a non-issue when he suddenly gets given a day to figure out what to do with his stolen information.

Also, can we just talk about Kaga’s kindness? You guys know how much I love Team Kaga dynamics, and I kind of love that we get to see that their dynamics are basically like this from the start, with Ayumu basically being a brat to Hyogo-san and then Kaga kind of begrudgingly adopting him and going out of his way to recruit him. We love bratty Ayumu but thinking back now, I also love how obedient he is to Kaga and how much they trust each other despite their first ever interaction being Kaga beating Ayumu in a dark alley lmaooo. But the thing that is the most telling to me about Kaga is the fact that we now know that Shinonome was involved in the deaths of Hamaguchi and co., i.e. the very thing that made Kaga choose to transfer to Public Safety. So like Goto and Soma, Kaga and Shinonome play a role in bringing each other to Public Safety. You can tell the writers consulted either a show bible or Kaga’s Ep 0 because the dialogue at the press conference is almost exactly the same in both routes haha. Anyway, Ayumu got tricked into stealing files that Naru deleted from the NPA database regarding the bomb threat case that Kaga was working on. It was Ayumu’s tip to all the reporters and Kaga that led to Kaga sending Hamaguchi and the rest of his squad to the abandoned building where they lost their lives. I mean, obviously, as Namba says, the fault lies with the terrorists (and then with NARU!!!, and of course with the higher ups who just buried the case) but Kaga knows that the case information that Shinonome helped Naru steal was crucial to this case, and yet not only does he not blame Ayumu, he actually goes out of his way to recruit him. I love how Kaga-style it is as well to say “I’m gonna have you in the end anyway. You may as well come quietly. Say yes and then think about it after.”

(This is almost a Prince Joshua level “yes or yes” proposal)

By the way, I also want to bring attention to this one moment in particular where Kaga’s expression SOFTENS when he sees Hamaguchi… Kaga cares about the people around him so much ;~~;

Anyway, I’m gonna wrap it up now because I will literally keep on going and never stop and I’m already about about 4000 words so I’m just gonna add a few more of my notes:

By the way, how great was Namba’s advice? “Whatever you choose, I only hope that it’s to help others and not for your own amusement”

This is another defining difference between Ayumu’s (current) and Naru’s mentalities which I didn’t want to get into cause I had a slightly different focus.

I said this before but I’ll say it again: Ayumu’s parents encouraging him to follow his path and do what he wants to do even though it means that their business will no longer be a family business…. Gives me Emotions

I know that this has been mentioned by Sachi before but this route really hit home for me that the bullying way he treats his MC is like... what he does when he’s happy?! He was so depressed and disillusioned this whole route that we got none of that behaviour and it made me really miss it

By the way, I’m like 90% certain that Suo is going to make an appearance somehow in Ayumu’s Love’s Trial route

Also, I wish they gave us a little more introspection on Ayumu’s relationship with MC at the but also what a typical scene between the two of them we get to see! (Her being a dorky, clingy girl and him grousing but actually ENJOYING IT like the tsundere he is)

2. What do they usually like for breakfast?

Coffee. Shigeo can’t start his day without one (or more) Espresso. That is out of question.

Food-wise, given that he’s a busy bee, he usually gets himself something from a bakery that you can eat quickly to go...like a sandwich or a croissant. It is rumored though that, should Shigeo actually find himself with some time on his hands in the morning, that he likes himself some French Toast a lot.

3. What sort of cuddler are they?

To get cuddled by Shigeo, you need a lot of, a lot, A LOT of trust from him and he needs to care about you a great ton.

Shigeo preferable cuddles people who are a lot shorter than him *cough*. He likes lifting the person up, or clutching them to his chest. One of the marginal amount of people that Shigeo likes to cuddle is Moe.

4. How do they say “I love you”?

These three words are very hard to audibly say for Shigeo.

His love for the very few people he does genuinely care about is shown the most through his strong loyalty to them.

But I also gotta say that, Shigeo being Shigeo also really loves to spoil the people he loves. So yeah....lots of gifts, being real.

8. What makes them laugh?

Shigeo tries to suppress actual laughter usually (pretty much like his mom Nene) but there’s a good number of thinks that do amuse him.

His humor can go pretty dark though.

11. What bad habits do they have?

So, so, SO MANY.

Sometimes he forgets to eat, he tends to go out into the cold without a scarf because he believes a scarf doesn’t match his outfit etc. etc.

His worst habit is how he swallows up all negative emotions in him.

16.What makes them worry?

It’s incredibly hard to unease Shigeo.

He mostly tends to get worried when one of the people he legitimately cares about seems to be in some form of distress.

35. What sort of parent would they be?

Shigeo would honestly be a very doting father. In comparison to his wife, he’d be the more lenient parent and since he’s Shigeo, he’d also be incredibly spoiling but also pretty protective.

Education would also be an important subject matter to him as well though.

Yasu

2. What do they usually like for breakfast?

Homeboy often just eats a couple slices of bread with smoked salmon, avocado or his mother’s homemade jam perhaps. If he should feel like anything fancier he would fry himself an egg to put that on his egg alongside some parsley.

Yasu does also really love a classic Japanese breakfast a lot and sometimes will make himself some Miso Soup in the morning as well.

3. What sort of cuddler are they?

A good one, even if one might not expect it! Yasu sees rather quickly when a person doesn’t want to talk and so he tends to let actions speak instead (if he’s close enough to the person). Yasu’s hugs are very comforting, not to tight but securing.

4. How do they say “I love you”?

If Yasu feels certain that the love is returned he does not struggle to say it out loud. If he’s unsure however, he’d show it through little actions like smiling whenever they’re talking, easing them when they’re upset and so on.

8. What makes them laugh?

Yasu is not one to laugh a lot honestly. The antics of the Polar Star students is something that can urge a chuckle or even more out of him at times.

11. What bad habits do they have?

Avoiding to talk about his worries most certainly! But also letting his sense of protectiveness cloud his judgement at times.

16.What makes them worry?

He’s generally speaking hard to uneasy, but his greatest fear would be disappointing his parents. He’s also worried a lot for Chieko.

35. What sort of parent would they be?

A great one! He’s son of the certified PSD parents after all, it’s in his genes.

He would be a very patient, understanding father who’d put family above all else and also try his best to raise his children into good people. He’d also prefer to stay living in his home village, instead of a big city, and have the city grow up close to nature just like he did.

Mika

2. What do they usually like for breakfast?

Mika tends to have multiple things for breakfast. One thing she really likes is fruit! She’d totally make herself a bowl of greek yogurt with honey & fresh strawberries & afterwards would also have some toast with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. She can be rather creative when it comes to breakfast.

If she doesn’t have a lot of time on her hands, she tends to make herself a “Speed Donburi”, which is smth her mother thought up.

3. What sort of cuddler are they?

Mika is super romantic, so needless to say, if she’s in a relationship she craves for human touch and cuddles.

She prefers being held, but sometimes she wraps her arms around her significant other herself and rests her head against his back.

4. How do they say “I love you”?

It does cost Mika quite some willpower to bring herself to say it, as she is not too open about the romantic part of her in general. When she does say it though it will sound very honest.

8. What makes them laugh?

Mika loves her romcoms & they never fail to get a lot of laughter out of her.

Some of her father’s antics or her uncle Isami’s teases towards Takumi can amuse Mika as well. She does tend to grin or chuckle at a certain wit in people’s talk.

11. What bad habits do they have?

Mika tends to have troubles with taking the people surrounding her into account. She has a tendency of wanting to dominate all conversation, which leads to her unintentionally drowning others out.

16.What makes them worry?

Mika worries a great deal over Hiroshi and how at times he seems to have troubles adjusting to Totsuki’s battle-heartened philosophies.

But Mika is also that friend that views it as her duty to protect her friends from any sort off heartbreak. For example, when Chieko ultimately gets closer to Shigeo...Mika does at one point tell the guy, face-to-face, that she’ll drop-kick him into the Bahamas if he even thinks of hurting Chieko.

35. What sort of parent would they be?

Mika would be one protective momma. A kid being mean to her child in school? Expect her to stand in the director’s office the next morning and demands answers.

She’d teach her kid that being feminine & liking pink doesn’t make you weak and would love it if her child develops the same interest for romance she always harbored so they can enjoy them together.

Lola

2. What do they usually like for breakfast?

Lola is used to a lot of variety for breakfast every morning. Her favorite thing to eat are oatmeals though and she eats a different variation almost every morning I’d say.

3. What sort of cuddler are they?

Lola is not big on cuddles being real. She’d only let someone she feels very close to hug her.

When she does happen to be upset or sad, that’s an instance where she does like being held. In return, when she can see that someone she cares about needs a hug, she’ll reach out.

4. How do they say “I love you”?

Lola only says it out loud when she has the feeling that it’s definitely warranted. Besides that, she rather shows it through very subtle but still meaningful actions.

8. What makes them laugh?

Lola is incredibly easily amused, so there’s a lot of things I could name. She enjoys teasing people and seeing her words work the way she anticipated. She also considers banter she isn’t involved in to be rather entertaining.

In forms of media, she tends to laugh at rather dark humor as well.

11. What bad habits do they have?

In the beginning of the story, Lola never allows people to get closer to her and firmly believes she’s better off alone. She kinda sees everyone who’s not part of her family as a potential enemy.

16.What makes them worry?

Lola will visibly grow more worried over Hiraku’s and Kimiko’s ongoing conflict actually, because family has always been incredibly valuable to Lola. It will become the most obvious in drama arc.

35. What sort of parent would they be?

Oh, Lola as mom.....🤔

Being real, I think she’d try her best to be the same kind of mother Alice has been to her.

Ibusaki Seijuro, fuckboy extraordinaire

height in 2nd year: 5′11 (180 cm)

weight in 2nd year: 160 lbs (73 kg)

preferred clothing brand: does not care as long as they’re Hawaiian shirts

favorite book: Shogun (Clavell)

non-culinary activities: billiards and breaking (pop culture calls it breakdance but that is not the right term)

Sei is the first son of Ibusaki Shun and Sakaki Ryoko. He has his mother’s magenta hair and father’s slate grey eyes

Hawaiian shirts and Totsuki ties. Hawaiian shirts. He has an incorrigible belief that there is not enough color at Totsuki (obviously he hasn’t seen his hair lol) and therefore only wears the brightest colors possible. Sei can typically be seen in the early morning running daily laps around Legislation wearing his prized Birkenstocks

When he’s in the dorm or at Nakiri Mansion, however, he wears turtlenecks and sweatpants (with Birkenstocks)

Cooking in front of an audience is Seijuro’s true forte. He makes an elaborate live show out of every dish, spinning around in his basketball shorts, Hawaiian shirt, Totsuki tie, and Birkenstocks. Sei does not wear aprons lol but at the Autumn Elections, the Nakiri cousins persuaded Auden to coerce Seijuro into wearing at least semi-formal attire but he showed up in a flamboyant flannel instead. Wild af

He started getting into Spanish cuisine after he discovered Dia de los Muertos and the colorful calaveras, and he makes a point of making pan de muerto for the Nakiri-PSD members every year to celebrate the holiday. The only death he’s celebrating, though, is the death of Auden’s sanity (more on that later)

By virtue of his parents’ sake and smoked foods empire, he also dabbles in their specialties but he won’t be the heir to their company (working title IbuSakaki if I can arrange the kanji properly LOL). His max is fermenting sake for gang parties but after the SenAudpocalypSei (Sena + Auden + Seijuro + apocalypse), he starts smoking cigarettes and this is what really drives the final wedge between him and Auden

Sei and Auden stagiaire with the brothers Aldini and they learn how to use a mezzaluna. Extremely proficiently

One night he and his best bro Auden get on the drunker side despite both of them being notorious heavyweights, and they go to a tattoo shop and Sei gets six piercings in one ear. And two on the other. He doesn’t even notice until like six days later when one of the helixes on his left ear gets infected

Sei is the girl magnet of the school, and most people assume that he has like 593 girlfriends (or at least 593 girls that he fools around with), but in reality he’s almost always been in love with Marui Sena, and he’s actually not as much of a fuckboy as his reputation explicity states implies. But rep is rep, and he loves being the center of attention, so he lets the rumors spread like wildfire. And he does have a hoe-ish personality but this is completely repressed as soon as Sena transfers into gen 120 for high school

Sei’s one true weakness is his loyalty to Auden and his affections for Sena. Ultimately, his attempt to keep both on either side of him will serve as a catalyst for the SenAudpocalypSei and they’ll tear Totsuki up by its roots

He hangs out with Nakiri Jouichirou a lot (Asahi’s son, 117th gen and serving as the youngest lecturer in the history of Totsuki) and eventually learns the Crossed Knives technique from him. Jou acts more like an older brother than a professor to Sei and they grow extremely close

Kurokiba Auden, would-be Planet Earth narrator

height in 2nd year: 6′0 (183 cm)

Auden is the only child of Kurokiba Ryo and Nakiri Alice. When he was born, Souma and Erina were in that hazy pre-dating phase and so Alice and Ryo were unsure if the Sorina baby would be named Nakiri or Yukihira. They decided not to name their kid Nakiri Auden because Alice would do anything to avoid a repeat of the Nakiri cousins conflict (she inevitably has lingering resentments from being in Erina’s shadow for the first 18 years of her life) but Auden is the legal heir to the Nakiri-Totsuki Group. Obviously, Ryoali had no idea that Yukihira Kaede would end up not even being in the culinary business lol

The only potential competition for Auden’s inheritance ends up becoming Nakiri Jouichirou, who is the only one in the family from the next era who carries the Nakiri name. But Jouichirou is completely disinterested in running the empire so Auden has no trouble assuming the throne later on

Auden’s eyes are different reds. His heterochromia isn’t as noticeable as Kaede’s but his left eye is a few shades darker than his right. Especially after he joins the Elite Ten and gets no sleep (dark circles lol), he looks exactly like his dad but with shorter hair (think Central Arc but shorter). He uses his dad’s bandana on occasion but it only returns him to normal function. His voice is literal heaven. He could’ve been a narrator for Planet Earth.

He’s extremely soft and mild mannered, with none of his mother’s (and his father’s, to be fair) eccentricities. Auden is the most responsible out of the Elite Ten and pretty much the entire cast of the Genesis verse, 92′ers included. He has no emotional extrema (part of the reason why the bandana hardly affects him) and this is a relief for his parents, because it lessens his chances of dissociation and fugue

Auden specializes in Danish cuisine from a bit of a molecular standpoint, resulting from his time in the lab with his mom

In his second year of middle school, he dips a week to compete at national swim competition in Osaka and easily wins. He’s sponsored by Totsuki’s Sports Association and its founder/pres, Luc Tadokoro-Aldini

When he was younger, Auden spent a lot of time with Auntie Hisako, who drilled a whole bunch of medicinal knowledge into him because being a Ryoali child is a hazardous occupation so later when he meets Sei he finds out abt his smoking (Auden thought smoking as in cigarettes but Sei meant smoking as in food) and makes Sei promise not to smoke. It’s their first and only promise as best bros, and Sei picking up cigarettes in 3rd year pretty much destroys their friendship

Auden cuts the sleeves off of every t-shirt he owns, and ripped jeans are kind of his thing. Unlike Seijuro, who at least wears the Totsuki tie, Auden does not own a single article of the school uniform lol but Dean Hayama pretends not to notice

His goal is to be head chef for one of Tsukasa Eishi’s restaurants. This is pretty much the trigger for SenAudpocalypSei

I won’t go into too much detail about the SenAudpocalypSei bc that’ll take center stage in Renaissance anyhow but a vague summary is that Auden puts his career over his friends and Sei completely loses faith in him. Although the conflict stems from Auden’s career goals, it ends up revolving mostly around the love triangle between Seijuro, Auden, and Sena; ultimately they destroy a lot of the Totsuki dynamic that developed under Arato-Hayama Hikari’s tenure as first seat

Smashin Face RELOAD - Final Edition

It’s finally here, friends. A complete rework of my Smashin Face texture set. Tons of things are new and different, you can consider this basically a whole different kind of mod. And I am absolutely done with it, lmao. Consider this now the last and final update SF ever will get. Anyways, lets break down what this contains and the differences to the older versions.

Textures are remade Now only using Bijin Skin as a base, added with my own elements & work to it. Smashin Face used to be a skin mix between various different skin textures that I absolutely loved (Nuska’s real skins & hellosanta’s SG textures). After various different updates and skinmix tries, with time I threw in my own works into it. And with time, taste in skin textures changes. I went for a bit more “realistic” approach, which I see back in other people’s skin and my own. And this is the result of it. Head Diffuse 4k & normals 2k.

Reworked tint mask It comes with new lip tint mask specially design to work for these textures!! Using other lip tint mask will end up looking off and weird, and will result in mismatch shapes. Also made new eyeliner mask. Tint masks comes in 2k.

No longer comes with an esp The thing with the previous version was the compatibility issue it had. It would often conflict with other mods that edited the vanilla (such as EEO). I got tired of patching shit. So what does that exactly means now? Well, this SF no longer adds elder complexions or extra ones. brought too much trouble for what it’s worth.

Optional folders Contains a head diffuse with the more classical SF eyes, with and without the stach details, some detail maps which you have to add yourself manually, and an PSD with body freckle overlays (recommend to use only for custom races and the like).

Elves have ridges Comes with normal maps for elves, with ridges. No, I won’t include them without it. This is TES elves, not LOTR.

As usual, install this manually! Read me is included, so please for the love of god, read the damn thing. By problems contact me either here or on discord.

So I found a bunch of stuff and now I am conflicted on where to even begin learning all I want to learn. Most of YouTube channels are run by scholars so they include sources in the description and include databases that scholars use like Livius or PSD for Sumerian (I’m not listing them here since they will take up too much space). Just remember- if you don’t like the formatting of the some of the ones I listed- there are other scholars with other lecturing styles so don’t feel discouraged by these.

PHOTO 1: I don’t think I emphasized the significance of Hobi and Yoongi’s relationship so well in writing. In my head, they are closer than anyone else (maybe even so much more than the oc with Yoongi) in their little group. I’m aiming on greatly emphasizing their relationship for the second part. But Hobi is the person Yoongi confides in whenever he has conflicting feelings regarding his relationship with the oc, which is why he spilled the beans to begin with.

PHOTO 2: I found this photo on pinterest and immediately thought I had to put it in here. One thing I want to do in part two is really focus on their friendships with each other. I was trying my best to really set up the foundation for the story, but I’m hoping the second part will show more of Yoongi’s appreciation for his friends! In this photo, Yoongi captures Jin, Hobi, and Jimin being absolute dumbasses and express his fondness towards them.

PHOTO 3: It felt necessary for me to insert a candid photo of Tiffany taken from Yoongi’s eyes. There’s nothing really special about this one; I was just hoping to convey the message that Yoongi truly is trying to move on from the oc and has an attraction for her!!

PHOTO 3: This is Yoongi’s birthday post for the oc!!!! Michelle actually took this candid pic and Yoongi really contemplated on making it his wallpaper but he figured you would find it awkward. But he adore this picture and used it as his birthday pic for the oc.

It was really hard thinking of what to put as the main post for Yoongi’s ig. I really wanted to put some faceless person driving and it would just be Yoongi recording the oc driving him or something, but it was really difficult to do that. I figured the next best thing would be featuring Hobi just doing the ‘in my feelings’ challenge. Again, I want to accentuate Hobi + Yoongi’s friendship; this is sort of foreshadowing the next part, btw. Hobi with the help of another person try their best to push Yoongi and the oc together again and yeAH!

SYNOPSIS

In the island of Ulan, the kingdoms Idulyria e Brosan have been in conflict with each for centuries. After years of wars that destroyed the kingdoms and decimated the island’s population, the sovereigns have managed to find an arrangement. For fifty years the two populations have lived in peace, although the danger of a new war was always around the corner.

This didn’t last long. In fact, one day Raena, princess of Idulyria, is kidnapped and the wizard Nivir is given by the queen the mission to find her and bring her back to the castle. He’s one of the most powerful wizards of the kingdom and has founded an academy that allows children coming from anywhere on the island to come and learn how to use magic.

Nivir found out that the princess had been kidnapped by the enemy kingdom so he sends Ayana, one of his students, to rescue her.

The girl will have to infiltrate the castle working in the royal library to find out where Raena is held captive and a way to free her and bring her back.

But she won’t be alone. She’ll befriend Isobel, an intelligent and incredibly brave girl, and Sherin, a young lady full of energy. With their help, Ayana’s mission will be less difficult, despite the grand amount of obstacles they will have to face.

i literally don't know the first thing about making gifs but is the contrast higher on the latest ones? i personally prefer a softer coloring but you do whatever you like and makes you happy!! i love all your gifs regardless

tbh i’m always conflicting with the colouring i use jhaskfkajasdfd before i had used a softer colouring but i didn’t like how it made the black colours in the gif not black enough so i started using this psd again!! thank you for your ask !!!

first of all, i’m going to start by saying that this edit was far prettier when i first made it, but i had to continuously change it and make it look uglier just so that tumblr would let me uPLOAD IT, so now you all know you are looking at a watered down version of my original “creation” (quotation marks bc it still originated as someone else’s psd, but sTILL)

also, i know that this is a day late, but i have been so busy and swamped recently. my first semester just officially ended today, and yesterday was my mom’s birthday as well as the day of my last exam, so now i’m sort of free for the next few weeks!! i’m excited!! i can finally be back around and focus on rp and some of my other interests a bit more for this time. i feel like i’m so disconnected from just about everything that i love and it sucks but hopefully that will change.

rookies is one of my few homes and although my experiences here haven’t been totally perfect, it’s been wonderful enough to be one of the rps i have been in for the longest! other than mi, rookies is the first directory that i have managed to stick around for two years! i think that i first joined in september of 2016 as rkseola, then when she didn’t work out, i rejoined in november as hoseokrk for the first time! both of those muses have been dropped and picked up again, yet my son is the one that eventually managed to survive. then, in march of 2017, i joined as rkmg along with my beloved abbie, who picked up rkwon. it was then that this place really became such a spectacular place for me due to my immense amount of love for them!!

i had a bit of a hard time with third muses at first, picking up jangjunrk last year, and then rksorn sometime around the end of last year. but, i didn’t have a third muse really work out until i picked up juyeonrk!! my daughter that i love with all of my heart!! even if i do have conflicting feelings considering i have another muse i desperately wish i could play, but my kids mean so much to me that i don’t have anyone to sacrifice, so she will just have to continue existing in my heart!

it took a while and many tears for me to finally get a signed muse, but once i did, it was such an exciting and wonderful experience and i’m happy that i didn’t give up! it was a dream come true for me and rkmg that he was signed to his dream company along with his best friend in the world. the mgas event was a fun experience for me and i am glad that i have had the opportunity to participate in all of the fun and exciting things that the mods take the time to make for us!

rookies is so unique and i have so much faith that it will continue to thrive!

To those who are complaining about #WayHaught being problematic (sit the fuck down), that there’s a lack of POC (sit the fuck down), and people who are complaining about all sorts of other representation (SIT THE FUCK DOWN).

Are y’all watching the same show as I am (or rather the same show as I know the first hour people are)

This is one of the VERY few show that mostly gets it right.

We HAVE representation on most fronts. We have a show-runner that actually listens and adjust the things within the story she/they want to to tell.

People sent out their complaints about season one, and they gave great effort to continue to grow i representation in season two and y’all are still complaining.

Let me just give you a tiny little list here: Jeremy Chetri (Gay POC), Rosita Bustillos (POC), Xavier Dolls (POC), Moody (POC), Nicole Haught (lesbian), Waverly Earp (bisexual), Patrick Kwok-Choon (POC), Poppy (POC), FBI Agent Carla (POC) and the list probably goes on a little more if I want to get deeper into it, but it’s late and I’m tired and I’m in a crappy mood now thanks to this shit that’s been going on.

Also... let me note that cheerleader thing... Waverly is 21 SHE IS A LEGAL OF AGE ABLE TO CONSENT ADULT, she decided to ADULT roleplay with her ADULT girlfriend. She’s young, she’s having fun. (Also, she’s still college aged, there’s cheerleaders in college, heck there’s adult cheerleading too, so give it a rest. Waverly probably could have still been in that outfit a mere two years prior to that, but she probs got the cheerleader thing fit for her body because HELLO IT FITS HER BODY... )

As far as Waverly x Champ vs Waverly x Nicole goes... CHAMP IS A PROBLEMATIC CHARACTER - he treats Waverly like shit. Doesn’t respect her boundaries, doesn’t respect who she is, or who she is becoming, had their entire future already planned out and had probably never had a proper conversation with Waverly about it. This whole WLW trop of ruining ‘straight’ relationships doesn’t count here.

Sure. Nicole expressed interest. She’s a non apologetic lesbian who likes to go for what she sees... but she’s only shown interest - she hasn’t actually acted upon it until Waverly finally kisses her AFTER SHE BROKE UP WITH CHAMP BECAUSE HE’S A SHITHEAD.

They were attracted to each other from the get go but neither acted upon it until AFTER Waverly broke up with Champ because he’s a shithead.

and if you want a goddamn play by play per episode I can give y’all that too, but that’ll take a while since time is limited

HOW is WayHaught codependent? They both have their own lives that they live. Not to mention they’re in their honeymoon phase and what, since the beginning of the show have been together for what? A whole three months?

There’s actual conflict, conflict that eventually gets resolved BECAUSE THEY TALKED ABOUT IT. Nicole had to get herself over the fact that Waverly (albeit for somewhat misguidedly selfish reasons) protected Nicole from Black Badge Division and it was definitely not Nicole’s choice and Nicole had to learn that even though she may not have gotten the BBD promotion... the work that she does at PSD is important and that Nedley chose her to be his successor for a reason, it’s called PLOT

They are both individuals outside of their relationship.

NICOLE WOULD HAVE SHOT WYNONNA BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS A DEMON. THAT WAS THE ONLY DAMN REASON. And the whole thing of shooting somebody for someone... like WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL, you think Nicole would go around and shoot people because Waverly tells her so? No of course not. If Waverly was in danger, obviously she’d shoot someone for Waverly.

And even then she’d probably just wound them. I mean she had a perfect opportunity to just off Tucker, we all know how much she loathes that asshol... but did she? No. Why? because she’s a pretty darn good cop and knows how to use a gun and WOUND someone in their dominant arm so it would be harder for them to continue using the knife he was going to hurt a girl with.

Dolls is a supernatural character and the ‘addict’ part CLEARLY was a part of that... and yes of course that wasn’t clear from the start... because hello PLOT

One last thing before I go... Emily Andras is a bloody fantastic showrunner, compare to others. She loves her cast, she loves her crew, she actually listens to what critics have to say (the difference between S1 and 2 should note that).

And now I”m going to end this here because it’s already WAY to late and I’ve got my two nieces and a nephew to take care of tomorrow... but you bet your ass I’ll be watching the spaces and will go on another rant if need be.

so i think this all depends on how season 3 ends. only goto’s trial route has come out so far. what i gather from the synopses of his trial route + pov is that usa basically gets transferred into the SP department (bodyguards) and the main conflicts have to do with goto being hung up on the past still, jealousy over subaru (again lol) and the fact that her goal of being a public safety officer has now been taken away from her (also it implies that they can’t be lovers anymore so... maybe their relationship gets revealed and she gets transferred? you know how shirogane is lol, probs bc he can’t get laid). anyway i have no doubt that she gets reinstated into public safety at some point but this premise made me realise that core issue of the battlefield route (which i’d initially thought was just like “how the relationship changes now that they’re finally colleagues and also tsugaru is here to mess things up”) which is actually about the tensions that arise from having to keep the relationship hidden in the workplace of the PSD - tsugaru etc. just acts as a facilitator for that tension.

so because one of the main consistent themes of season 3 is the difficulties that arise bc of needing to keep the relationship hidden, i believe that the second half of season 3 is going to end up in all of the relationships being made public, whether that’s of their own volition or they just got exposed. i haven’t read goto’s route and i probably won’t until it’s translated but i get the feeling that they get exposed, hence usa’s transfer maybe? i think each route will tackle it differently according to the type of drama they get given. i’m just hoping that kaga’s route has a lot of life-and-death drama and that kaga announces their relationship publicly/officially again bc you all know i’m a hoe for kaga doing things like this properly. actually you know what, i’m just hoping that usa gets injured again!! bc I LOVE IT WHEN SHE GETS HURT!!!!!

ANYWAY they could really go anywhere with season 4 but i think that season 4 would be long enough in their relationship for ENGAGEMENT (and long enough for us to feel ready for it bc 公安 really just hit 6 years)?! tbh it’s difficult to say bc honestly these people are already really ready to die for each other at the drop of a hat so i can’t think of how extreme a situation needs to be to provoke engagement (maybe like... one person is on the verge of death and they want the other to be listed as their spouse officially so they can act on their behalf/have POA? is that romantic lmao??). but 公安 is so popular with japanese fans that i think they’re gonna keep going with the title until at LEAST marriage.

as a side note, i do think namba will return to his position at the end of season 3 or in season 4/whenever all of their relationships become public.

hlitf tends to really allow us to explore themes and issues which are kinda deep/mature (such as morality, justice) and some quite serious relationship conflicts (work/love, what do you do when faced with potentially saving heaps of lives vs saving the person you love) so i think they could tackle some real problems in the future that are bound to arise bc of their line of work.

i definitely want to see married life between them and the problems of having to keep secrets from each other at work even while living together. usually they just arrange to meet up or go to each other’s place whenever they’re free and they generally tend to know each other’s schedules or they’re kind of used to going without contact for short periods of time, knowing that the other will contact them when they’re done with their investigation. so i think i would love to see the anxiety of one of them waiting for the other to get home and not being sure when they’ll get home, or if they’ll even be able to return home that night. i think goto for sure would get extra anxious about that kind of thing. but also there’s one scene somewhere where kaga comes home to find his mc asleep and he’s like super warm and happy about it and i want more moments like that!! i also wanna see him frustrated/anxious/pacing that she’s not home yet... imagine a scene where the love interest is waiting for her to get home and it’s super late and he’s about to go to bed, and then in the middle of the night she finally stumbles home all bloody and injured? my heart is racing just thinking about it...

another thing that i want to see maybe in season 5/6 is a pregnancy season maybe? admittedly, i don’t really have that much interest in pregnancy/baby storylines in general bc i’m kinda young still (lol) and have no experience or relatability with baby storylines BUT i’ve mentioned a couple times before that i would LOVE to see usa forced to be confronted with the choice between having a baby or being able to still work out in the field in her dream job. plus literally no one in public safety except kaga is ready for kids so can you just imagine the drama? my brain juices are like..... ripe and fruity..... thinking about all the future possibilities!!

EDIT: an anon once also said they would like to see a season with the mc as an instructor and i adore this idea too!!! i hope it happens
