Only Friends Episode 3 | You're not welcome, sir
I love how this man offends these two simply by existing. There's a reason they're my favourites. I'm living vicariously through them because this man gets on my goddamn nerves too.

So the reason I personally think Tech is appearing to be doing “fine” about the changes around him (loss of Crosshair and Echo, Havoc Marauder being stolen) is because he is absolutely not.
This guy is deeply autistic coded, to the point where it’s basically canon (the voice actor has mentioned he perceives Tech to be on the spectrum). And as most of us know, autistic people… we don’t do so well with change. We’re really, really bad with it. We like routines so much!
But wait—you may say—why does Tech act like he’s okay with change? Simple, really: you can’t form routines in a galactic war.
Obviously, there’s routines he could keep. Things like… like the order he ate his lunch, the way he brushed his teeth, how he preparde for battle, etc. That’s portable, for the most part. But he’s not in the same place every day. He’s not doing the same thing every day. He’s not even with the same people every day! Everything changes so constantly!
Not to mention, there’s so much grooming (not THAT type) that the clones go through. They grow up specifically for one thing and one thing only: war. Tech’s case was special, obviously, but that likely guaranteed even more grooming. He was special, like his brothers. I bet they had more hands-on training than most—and likely watched just as closely. So can you imagine what would have happened, had the Kaminoans watched him lose his cool over changes? They couldn’t have let that fly. That’s not going to work on the battlefield. If he can’t adapt, he’s dead.
So. Tech needs to adapt. Tech needs to not break with changes. He needs to cope.
How do you cope with something when you can’t cope? Stuff it deep down. Ignore it. Replace the feelings with something else (ie: working out, drinking, bingeing, etc.) and refuse to acknowledge anything else.
Tech can’t keep up with changes. Tech can’t deal with them. So… he doesn’t deal with them. At all. He doesn’t let himself acknowledge the way he would have used to. He bottles them, he ignores them, whatever you want to call it.
(So no fuckin wonder he kept lashing out at Wrecker. How much can a person keep inside before the dam cracks and something leaks through?!)

i keep seeing everyone poking fun at the stark difference in victor’s impressions of m. krempe and m. waldman and i wanted to say that these reactions were deliberately setting up victor’s vanity. which makes his later reaction to the creature more significant, more visceral - despite tragedies in his life victor was this relatively joyous, happy person until he created something ugly (creature), and the notion of unleashing something ugly into the world, done by his own hands, was so terrible to him it ruined him

Ok, but as someone whose job basically consists of "underappreciated and underfunded efforts to keep out new invasive species (whether insects or diseases) that could ravage US agriculture," I get why Kaguragi Dybowski is like, "I will do anything I can to protect my country, the breadbasket of Terra, because if it falls, it will starve the entire continent."

I am the first to point out that, of the two leads in P&P, Lizzy’s is the far deeper moral transformation and to say that Darcy’s character especially re: his flaws is wildly misunderstood and frequently painted out worse than he is out of fear of his particular kind of power. All of that said, I do love that Lizzy is just like “no, the way you treat me isn’t good enough and I will not simply accept it”

Ever think, "one of those warm, sweet, skeleton-crushing, head-on-the-shoulder hugs from Jungkook could probably solve like 90% of my problems"? Because honestly that's what I'm thinking about right now
Yes.

[an excerpt from Howard S. Babb’s 1962 book Jane Austen and the Fabric of Dialogue: “-to find Darcy insufferably arrogant and nothing more. But the author’s major success here is with Darcy, who seems to me a far cry from the two-dimensional Fanny Burneyan figure that he is so often taken to be. For Jane Austen endows him with mixed motives of his own—pride, shyness, a liking for Elizabeth—at the same time that she keeps prompting us to share the prejudiced Elizabeth’s flattened interpretation of him. And through the second half of the story, although Elizabeth and Darcy are now coming to terms with each other, Jane Austen refuses to thin the motives of either one. Elizabeth sacrifices none of her-”]
People only think Darcy has social problems and more going on than arrogance because they’re silly fangirls of the 2005 P&P tho

welp, the post in question I keep hearing about finally crossed my dash and I gotta say I'm indifferent to the post itself because I didn't wanna take the time to read all that at the moment, but I peeked in the notes and there was some scary stuff about "emet-selch was right and everything he told us was true" and "perfect Ancient society" in there lol. Real frighteningly bad media illiteracy.

Horrifying ordeal of “this character is very fucked up they would realistically do this fucked up thing and would be too stubborn to apologize for it and that’s realistic writing because humans are all different degrees of fucked up and always have something they’re gonna be dicks about”
to “ok but audiences tend to not understand nuanced characters and demonize any morally incorrect action to the point of not being able to enjoy the character anymore so mayyybbbeeee I should make them verbalize those issues to make them more obvious from a readers standpoint”
to “HE WOULD NOT FUCKING SAY THAT” pipeline

I love it here because when you guys send me anons, it's usually either just to add onto something I said or offer perspective or something, but Twitter likes to call me stupid for having basic media comprehension and daring to believe people can be multifaceted. Or tell me how much they hate shuake and shuake fanworks idk.

One other admittedly kinda minor thing that’s nonetheless bothering me a lot is the fact that in the Accept Shard ending, when you see Lor die, it’s explained that the last of the Prometheans who were hanging on were in extreme pain and agony - and yet Lor is just…strolling down the street sipping coffee? Even if HE was trying to shrug off his own pain, you can’t tell me that this man, whose entire character was established last game as a fighter for the Promethean people, who literally jumped into an armed conflict with nothing but retail food service experience so he could protect people, wouldn’t be trying to carry dying Prometheans to the nearest hospital or medbay with his last breath. I simply do not believe Lor Borderlands would just walk past hundreds of weak, dying fellow Prometheans without a care in the world. It was a small scene, but it was so jarring and OOC. I don’t understand the thought process behind going that route with it.

Me personally, I DO believe in making Hannibal and Will's relationships all about each other. I think after they became infatuated with each other there was no room in their hearts for anyone else. As much as I love the concept of the "murder family" and I believe they both truly loved Abigail, I don't think it's a sustainable dynamic at all. I won't try to change anyone's opinions!! But Hannibal is so clearly obsessed with Will, and I think it's safe to say it's mutual seeing as Hannibal tried to kill Will's wife and son and Will chose to run away with him anyways. Anyone who thinks Hannibal loves Will more than Will loves him... now THAT I can't understand.
But this is a CONFESSIONS blog. So here goes: sometimes I have hallucinations or night terrors or I forget periods of time. I don't know what's wrong with me (hopefully not encephalitis) but sometimes when these problems scare me, Hannibal NBC is actually comforting to me.
Like, look at Will. He had these problems and he turned out FINE. Yeah it was rough for a minute but now he's frolicking in Europe somewhere with his unfathomably sexy husband on their murder honeymoon. HE LIVED and sometimes these issues scare me so badly I feel like I'll die. I guess it's just nice to think that I'm not the only person who has these problems. Obviously Hannibal is NOT real life but it does make me feel less alone when my issues are really bothering me.
P. S. This is a confession because I have no idea if it's healthy or normal behavior and I'm nervous about what y'all will think
P. P. S. I'm also the anon who was traumatized by what Dolarhyde did to Chilton. AND the anon who was pissed for no reason about Chiyoh kissing Will. (You were right, it's because he should be kissing Hannibal)
P.P.P.S Sorry this is so long
yeah I knew it was you HAHHSSHAHHAH my analytical brain is never turned off. I feel like I understand you. in the most humble way possible. I won't lie.
