Been working on this animation for a while and it's taking a lot outta me 😭
Taking a break now but was wondering if I could get a Nun!Reader x Venti/Barbatos where the reader grew up being a nun so she never been in a relationship or had any physical contact so of course she's very deprived and well horny-
So while sinfully touching herself(let's say the church has specific rooms for the nuns who live there) and calling out his name in sin Barbatos appears to grant her her wish, her prayer of feeling him fill her up-
I'm too down bad for this man😭
If you can could you incorporate these kinks?
God complex, Corruption kink and breeding kink? 🥺
-With love, Ventis Windblume🌸🍎💚
Tumblr media
Venti x Nun!fem!reader. Smut. Yandere!Venti Corruption kink. Breeding kink. God complex.
a/n: When I saw this, I thought: Oh this perfect cause now I can write Yandere!Venti like I said I would. I hope you enjoy. First time writing smut with Venti😭 I hope I don't disappoint. Don't work too hard, okay!!
You were lost in your own little world, gripping the sheets in your room, rubbing your clit and fingering yourself desperately. You were a Nun. And it was generally frowned upon for a Nun to engage in sexual intercourse.
You were a bride of the Anemo Archon. Your body needed to stay pure for him.
It didn't make sense to you though, hearing that you had to stay pure in the name of Barbatos. Why shouldn't you offer your body to him?
So this was your way of doing it. You wanted to always keep in mind what Barbara had told you, though.
So you stuck to pleasuring yourself in one of the rooms at the back of the Church.
"Hehe~ You sound so pretty moaning my name like that. Please, keep doing it while I watch~" Venti giggled, seeming to materialize out of thin air. It didn't take long for you to connect that Venti and the Anemo Archon were the same person. You were a very astute young lady. He grinned at you, "Tell me when you are close to cumming. I'm going to enjoy this~."
Your heart leapt, soaring high into the clouds like Dvalin was carrying it on his wings.
Your cheeks were flushed with pride, bucking your hips up against your fingers, moaning his name with more urgency. You could finally serve your God like this!
Venti grinned the whole time, watching your every move. It was turning him on, seeing you acting so sinful in front of him. And you so desperately wanted to stay pure to your faith.
The very moment he'd heard you say to Barbara that you would always uphold your vow to stay pure for him, the only thing he could think of was getting his hands on you, corrupting you late into the night while you screamed and writhed beneath him.
He stalked you for months after that, always hanging around when you did your chores out in the courtyard, picking up the slack for Barbara so she could sing for her fans. You were so sweet for doing that.
Practically all ever he ever looked at or thought about was how perfect your childbearing hips were. You would look breathtaking pregnant. Your children would be the rarest of them all, being born with a Vision at birth.
Oh he was so excited!
Venti practically salivated as he watched you. You were showing such loyalty to him right now. It was really turning him on.
"My Lord, I'm close. Hurry please, I don't think I can last much longer," you pleaded, tears of desperation fell from your eyes. You looked more divine than ever right now.
"Don't worry, my love~," Venti said gleefully. You hadn't even noticed he was naked already. He had jacking himself off while he watched you. "I'll fill you full of my children. It's what you want the most~."
He didn't apologize for thrusting his cock inside of you without warning. You cried out in pleasure, making him shiver while he started thrusting. Your pussy seemed to suck his cock inside of you. "You have made such a filthy mess of yourself. You look so delicious that I can barely hold myself back~."
Your legs wrapped around his waist, pushing his cock to the hilt inside of you.
"The other Nuns might be disappointed when you become pregnant. They shouldn't be. Don't worry, my beautiful, loyal Nun. You'll always be pure in my eyes. You are serving your God so well. I'll make sure you are pregnant while I corrupt you slowly. It's all I ever think about.~"

have u played through the razor event yet? i'd love to hear ur thoughts on it
I have! Overall I thought it was pretty cute? It was a fluffy filler event like Windblume that was more about community than Plot or Lore, and it did a pretty good job of that.
I like Mondstadt a lot. Best region.
The 1000 Wind Wine ties into the event's themes of togetherness, and Mond's themes of freedom, and the event definitely didn't harp on the history of it for too long, so I was actually totally fine with it. I quite like the concept - like the Windblume not really mattering in the end. Mond has a general sense of uh... looseness, but the vibe that two of Mond's traditions are now less about history and more about how you as an individual interpret them is pretty cool.
I really like Mondstadt's relationship with its Archon. The idea that worshipping Barbatos is offering him a drink, but also that everyone is relaxed enough to slink off to the bar so they can get the best deal when he descends from the heavens... it all feels very warm and relaxed. The love Mondstadt has for Barbatos feels very real, and I adore how Venti always tries to pay it back - even/especially when he can't do much.
Even though we don't know Razor very well, I really enjoyed his story and how it ended! I know I complain about Lore and History a lot, but it was handled very well here. Razor's desire to learn about his parents and everyone coming together to help him, him making friends and acknowledging that the time he spent during the festival was equally as important as what he set out to find... it was very sweet.
It was nice to finally see Diona. I found her kind of charming, and I liked finally seeing her with Draff.
I enjoyed running the stall - the gameplay itself was ehhhh, whatever, but the visits from our friends were really nice. Mondstadt's sense of community is gorgeous. Barbara, Eula and Albedo (especially Eula) have grown on me. Bennett and Klee teaming up and Klee trying to adopt Razor on Alice's behalf was cute.
I also really liked Rosaria! I wasn't too big on her in either Dragonspine or her debut in Windblume, but she's definitely gotten stronger since then. I think focusing on her relationships with Varka and Razor did her a lot of good.
I REALLY loved Hamperquest. I tried to guess who wrote each note and was delighted to find that I guessed the correct character more often than not, even with the NPCs. I barely remember any NPCs from the other countries, but Mond's have really stuck with me. Kaeya was a lazy POS.
Mika is cute, but disappointed with what we got. I liked hearing from Varka, even if he did talk about the Fatui a lot. I was surprised that Mika didn't get involved in the event more, though. I kept expecting him to show up to help Razor and we'd get to know him through that (or he might meet up with Eula), but it didn't happen, so his implementation was pretty clumsy imo.
I was also hoping that Jean would have a larger role. I like Jean and would like to see her as Acting Grandmaster more often. I liked Lisa a lot in this event - I'm usually pretty :I on her, but it turns out that making characters talk to each other and have relationships outside the Traveller does wonders for making you like them! She and Razor were adorable.
Diluc and Kaeya continue to be a very awkward two-man comedy act. I keep getting more confused about the state of their relationship the more time goes on. Like, I'm glad they're reconciling, but man, I seriously thought things were worse. I guess they just don't know how to communicate anymore. That said, it was nice to finally see Diluc reaching out - usually it's Kaeya and is "woe-is-me, diluc-doesn't-love-me-:(" routine and we didn't know where Diluc stood, so it's nice to finally get that clarity.
Diluc's dialogue about wondering if Crepus would be PROUD OF THE PERSON I AM TODAY... ACTUALLY, GROWING PAST MY FATHER'S DEATH HELPED ME MATURE AS A PERSON.... buddy a) Crepus was shady as shit, you're fine and b) if you think you've gotten over your father's death, I got real bad news for you. God, just. Mondstadt has the most interesting hanging storylines HYV does nothing with. GIVE ME THE DADLORE
uhh anyway yeah i liked it! the writing was a bit clumsy in places but overall a great experience. hated the boar minigame though. reminded me of legends arceus but so, so, so much worse. they should've brought back hide and seek, that was fun.

Summary:
"To Err is Human, to Forget is Godly."
Almost 500 years ago, the Cataclysm happened. As the fires and monsters dwindled, most of the Seven had fallen. One, Barbatos, simply disappeared - and in his absence, the mourning songs of Dvalin would serenade the land of wind each yearly anniversary. The surviving Archons presumed him dead, and Monstadt presumed he simply never was.
Then one day, before a Traveler will fish Teyvat's Best Guide from its waters, a young man named Venti is rescued by the Vigilant Yaksha. Without memory a face as familiar as it is foreign, the question then becomes... What path can one take, when new memories meet old?
***
Adjusting the cap upon his head, Venti took one last look at himself in the mirror. At long last, he was finding his attire better matched with how he saw himself. Kind as Verr Goldet had been in lending him what she could find, he was grateful to be wearing what felt right. When he put all the pieces together, he could look himself in the eye and truly feel that he was a bard. It felt good to look the part, not just being called one. Doing a spin, he grinned watching the tail of the large jacket behind him twirl in a graceful arc. The folds in it combined with its shape, almost felt like wings on his back. And on the topic of wings… Venti was still over the moon that he could just summon a pair for use. If he wanted to, he could just crawl out of his window. Spread his wings out, catch an updraft and take flight. If Xiao hadn’t specifically told him not to, Venti would have. The respect he carried for the yaksha was the only reason he listened.
It was hard to resist the urge, though. As if ever since he learned of their existence, the wings ached in his back. Sometimes when he sat, no matter what he did there was a discomfort beneath his skin. Venti would have to keep shifting, and on more than one occasion Verr Goldet came in to check on him. When Venti asked if he could try the same snack their ‘honoured guest’ usually got, he had been surprised when Smiley Yanxiao gave a wink at the request. “Gonna be your new usual?” The cook had asked, a wide grin on his face.
Venti didn’t know what to make of the question. “A gift so sweet, why not offer it on repeat?” Was all he could think to say. The confusion on his face gave him away, and the cook shifted from a playful, conspiratal look to that of relief.
“Oh, you just wanted to thank him… Phew, okay. I can do that.” Smiley Yanxiao said, with a decisive nod. It hadn't been what he asked, but he nodded even so. While he wanted to try it, Venti did want to give Xiao something he would like. To offer a meal to someone that he had never seemed to hunger. Surely the yaksha got at least peckish for a snack at some point? Venti eyed the cook, but said nothing more. Started to wonder if perhaps the cook’s fondness for Liyue’s Vigilant Yaksha went beyond ‘just a fan.’ It wasn’t dangerous in the way Albert was fond of Barbara. At those memories, Venti physically shuddered. If Smiley Yanxiao had a harmless crush on the Conquerer of Demons, that wasn’t any of the bard’s business.
Trying to move forward with his day, Venti brushed aside any thoughts that wouldn’t help him. Spun on his heel, and headed outside of his room. The morning was still young, the sun cresting over the mountain ranges of Liyue. The clouds lit up with golden lining, moving slowly across the sky as the day began. As many people that busied themselves to keep the inn running and Xiao supported, Venti pondered what more he could do. The yaksha acted on duty, yes, but there were tiny tells that it went beyond something so simplistic. How Xiao would always ensure the humans he saved were not just safe, but could continue without help. The distance the yaksha maintained to keep humans safe from his karma, and yet he watched them with rapt attention. When Xiao put his gaze on someone, his attentiveness gave the impression he knew only the person those gold eyes were on. Initially intimidating, now it had become an endearing normal.
Not once had Xiao stared into Venti’s eyes, as if he was aware how that could be threatening to the average person. But his attention was always there, and he was direct without ever being dismissive. According to those who worked at the inn and the records Venti found, the Diligent Yaksha had been protecting Liyue for over two-thousand years. During that time, Xiao had mastered the art of patience. Reacted to danger with finely honed skill, treating every danger he saved the humans from with the understanding of how intensely seconds could matter to mortals.
There had to be something he could do for the yaksha. Playing music was essentially his job now, and Xiao would benefit from it regardless. The only extra effort Venti ever had to put in for him, was to try and find things that the yaksha would enjoy. A feat made all the more difficult by how little he had to work with. Aside from the one song unearthed from his own muddled memories, Venti practically turned the inn’s literature upside down trying to find more ancient tunes. Verr Goldet suggested the bard make a trip to Liyue Harbor to visit their bookshop, that he may have more luck there. Or he could play on the street outside, and hope he caught the interest of a famous second son from Feiyun Commerce Guild. Allegedly, this second son of the guild’s manager had an extensive library.
No way that Venti could do that, claiming his stage fright wouldn’t let him. A claim that Verr Goldet’s face said she wasn’t buying, but politely didn’t say anything. The bard just couldn’t risk it. The fear would freeze him from the inside, just picturing himself being recognized by someone sent to find him by Deaconess Erne. So far, no one had come inside asking odd questions or providing descriptions that matched too closely to Venti’s appearance. Occasionally, the Millelith would come through and offer sketches of wanted or missing persons. Each time Venti would listen, holding his breath and praying that none of their searches included someone like him. Huai’an had noticed the way Venti eavesdropped, apprehension on his face. Polite as his wife, he didn’t ask about it. Doubtlessly, the man shared with Verr Goldet the nervous way Venti always listened in on these conversations. What those two might have discussed would have made Venti sweat, but he wasn’t going to let himself focus on that.
No, he was going to do some digging!
With determination in each step, Venti set out to ask around about any local events. This was a land of culture, of history! There had to be something fun going on! The best place to investigate nearby happenings was in the eating area outside, down on the ground where the scent of silk flowers would threaten to drown out that of everyone’s breakfast. Before joining the elevator, Venti checked everyone was wearing the different styles of Liyue’s fashion. Some were more dated, others more modern. One of the visitors was wearing attire from Venti was pretty sure someone said was Fontaine in design? He wasn’t sure. Part of him agreed that was right, not that he could think of why any part of him would feel that way. Given it was safe, he hurried onto the lift.
Noted a gentleman that, as of last night, had been outed for cheating on his husband. The man lacked the modesty to even try to deny or even humbly accept his shame! Instead, he had the audacity to tell the husband he cheated on that, ‘you got too old, I needed a younger model!’
There were some things that Venti simply couldn’t abide. Pretending to be very focused on the harp he brought with him today, the bard subtly used Anemo to save the cheater’s pants from the waistline it once covered. A startled yelp left the man, the elevator shifting as he hurriedly tried to cover himself. The pants themselves would move this way and that, making it all the more difficult for the man to pull them back on. When the elevator reached the bottom, Venti hopped out with a merry laugh as he strummed the harp, pretending he was laughing at the situation and not at his success of creating it.
Passing by him, leaning in close to his ear, was one of the inn’s workers. “Be more careful. You glow.” They had whispered, continuing on forward without pausing to give Venti an opportunity to thank them. I glow? He thought. Redirecting his path to walk off the deck, he found a quiet spot to inspect himself. Used Anemo again, this time to simply disturb the leaves nearby. Noted the hint of pale green, just on his peripheral. Followed it to the tips of his hair, the once sky blue tinged with that light of Anemo. “Oh good. I’m a candle.” Venti laughed at the absurdity of his reality. The ironic chuckles tapered into disappointed sighs. “Can’t be subtle when I’m a walking torch on command.” He lamented, shoulders drooping. Eyes lifting up from watching the leaves he played with, he startled at a creature flapping delicate wings near him. Its appearance looked like a butterfly, but the body was so tiny compared to its wide wingspan. Offering his hand out, Venti wondered if it would react like a butterfly and flutter away. Its small body emanated a glow that matched the bard’s hair, wings shivering as it resonated with the Anemo that Venti produced. His eyes widened, the creature spinning around before landing in his palm.
The creature had no feet, its body smooth as glass and just as solid. Nestling itself against his skin, the wings languidly flapped. Out of curiosity, Venti used more Anemo. The leaves swirled more in the small whirlwind he created for them, scattering and scraping noises increasing volume the more he used. The small creature nuzzled more against his palm, and another landed on his shoulder.
“Oh, crystalflies!” An excited voice, youthful, cried out. “Mister, how are you doing that?” A child asked, scuttering sounds as they scrambled off the deck and over towards the bard. Glancing down, Venti offered a smile and lowered his hand holding the ‘crystalfly.’ “How did you catch one?! They always fly away for me…” The kid pouted, eyes the size of saucers as they offered up both hands to accept the creature. The wings flapped a slight protest, but didn’t resist being transferred from one hand to the next.
“Must be my Vision.” Venti offered up, motioning at the fake one he wore.
“A wind one!” The kid exclaimed in delight. “Mom says people with… Uh… Anemom?”
“Anemo.” Venti supplied helpfully.
“Yeah! Anemo! People with Anemo Visions don’t need anemograna to make wind. Is that true?” The child asked, their eyes never once leaving the crystalfly that remained in their palm. Venti observed the way they stared at it, wondering if it was truly so rare to interact with these creatures. Perhaps they were rare? Until now, he hadn’t seen one.
“Anemograna?” Venti asked, and squatted down to be more on eye level. “What’s an… Anemograna?” Other than a mouthful, of course.
“Uh… They’re things that help you make wind?” The kid wasn’t actually that sure either, and Venti nodded. That didn’t really help him, but he appreciated the effort. “They must really like you!” As children often were, this one didn’t dwell on any topics unless it caught their attention. And crystalfly seemed to be the focus, Venti looking up to notice the edges of wings coming from his cap. He laughed, collecting more to transfer onto the child. Within minutes, the kid was practically vibrating in excitement as crystalfly rested on their arms and in their hair. They knew they should hold still, that the crystalfly were slowly starting to leave. But they were so excited!
“There you are!” A woman’s voice yelled, her footsteps bringing her over to the pair. “What are you… Oh.” Words failing her, she gazed in wide eyes at Venti and her child. The two had crystalflies fluttering on and between them, Venti looking quite sheepish as he let the Anemo subside so the glowing would stop before she noticed. Shaking herself from her daze, she flapped her hands at the crystalflies. Not once did she hit them, simply disturbed the air around them to chase the creatures away. “How did you do that?” She asked in wonder.
“Vision.” Venti and the child said simultaneously. The two looked at each other, their faces splitting into grins as they both burst into laughter.
“I had no idea Visions could do that.” The woman said, voice full of wonder. For a second time she had to shake it off, picking her child up. “I’m so sorry she troubled you, but thank you for playing with her.” With a pleasant and grateful smile, she carried her kid back towards the deck. Remaining squat on the ground, Venti mulled over what just happened. There were many marvels in this world, and he was learning the best ones would sneak up to surprise him. Though the woman and child left, it felt as though eyes were watching him. Looking upwards, to the rooftop of Wanshu Inn, Venti couldn’t see if the gaze he felt belonged to a more golden one or that of someone far more mortal.
***
Bowstring pulled back, arrow knocked. It wasn't just the target that Venti was focusing on, but the Anemo he was trying to infuse into the arrowhead. A feat that he was complicating, the glow in his peripheral acting as a constant distraction. Now that he was aware it was happening, it was becoming impossible for Venti to ignore. A constant, literally visible announcement he was using one of seven elements. There was no subtlety for when he used it. Was this the case for every Vision holder? But then, Venti didn't hold a Vision so could what applied to them really mean the same for him?
Nimble fingers, hard and calloused from years of plucking strings, released the arrow. Watched as the wind twisted its course, his lack of focus affecting its trajectory. Watching from a rock he was standing upon, arms crossed, Xiao watched as the arrow pierced into the ground with a soft, ‘thump.’ The yaksha's visage remained neutral, in spite of the oddity.
“Should I have… Tried a different weapon, ehe?” Venti asked, trying to laugh off the bad aiming.
“No.” Xiao answered quickly, shaking his head. There were no people to be found in this area of Jueyan Karst, secluded enough that stray arrows weren't a threat to innocent bystanders. With his karmic debt, Xiao knew the local wildlife would steer clear of the two and were also safe. Not that he had concerns about stray arrows prior to then. “You were performing fine yesterday. If you're not feeling well, we can conclude here. Pushing yourself while ill offers no room for improvement, only frustration.”
The pot called the kettle black, and did not notice the irony.
“I'm feeling fine, I'm fine, perhaps even better with wine.” Venti found the rhyme left his lips, dismissive and not entirely untrue. The bard could always use a nice glass of wine. Or cider. When he looked at the yaksha, the other was staring him down. Patiently waiting for at least an explanation. “I glow.” Venti finally said, motioning at his hair. “Why do I glow? You have a Vision - do you glow when you use it?” He asked.
“No. The Vision does.” Xiao's reply was simple, and got a frown from the bard. “...As for the ‘glow,’ typically Elemental Beings have reactive bodies when they utilize the element of which they embody. I assume you're not human, if we ascertained solely by your lack of reaction to my karmic debt. Do you know what type of Elemental Being you might be?” The yaksha had been giving this some thought, which surprised Venti. The adeptus seemed so detached from everything, that he had given Venti any thought at all was curious.
“...A slime?” Venti suggested, his brows bending in uncertainty while he attempted a more playful grin to show he was joking. Xiao narrowed his eyes slightly, not amused. “I don't know? I've been assuming human until what you just said.” It had never occurred to Venti he was anything but human since he awoke, but somehow what Xiao said didn't feel wrong. “Do you got a list of Elemental Beings?”
“No.” Xiao shook his head, straight to the point. “I know what creatures call Liyue home, and you don't fit any of those descriptions.”
“So definitely not from Liyue.” Venti could at least rule that out? He had woken in Monstadt, and that had felt right. The fear that Erne put into him felt like having been chased from home. There was a thoughtful hum from Xiao, his eyes no longer on Venti. Instead, his gaze was out the corner of his eyes. “Did Mr. Zhongli tell you about my memory?” The bard finally asked.
“He did.” Xiao said, his thoughtful expression remaining. “You don't recall anything about who or what you are?” He sounded… Surprised.
There was a first for everything.
“I know my name is Venti, and that I love music. Calling myself a bard sounds natural, but that's more a lifestyle than my makeup.” Venti mused, and for lack of anything better to do adjusted his body to face the target once more. Knocked a bow on his arrow, and tried to focus on the target - not the glow as he infused the Anemo. Released the string, missed once more. “...Is there a way I can… Not do this?” He asked in exasperation. Set down the bow, and grabbed the two plaits on either side of his face. Wiggled the glowing hair at the yaksha, who ignored this.
“...I'm not sure. It is not an experience I'm familiar with.” Xiao spoke after a moment, sighing as he pulled away from his thoughts. “I can inquire with the other adepti, but in the meantime practice is what I would recommend.” The only adeptus he knew of with a similar experience now lived as a human mortal, and Xiao would honor that desire. That meant not asking the former Geo Archon how he was able to use Geo without the effects it once had on his body. Or if he even could. Hard to say with how covered Zhongli was. Xiao suspected the glow maybe had something to do with the Gnosis he once carried… But that would mean Venti carried a Gnosis himself without knowing it.
Given the power of such things, Xiao doubted Venti would have gone this long without noticing something of such magnitude. Regardless of what he did and did not know. “Do you… Own something that looks like a chess piece?” Xiao ventured, just in case he was wrong. He had never held one, and recognized this much he was assuming.
“A chess piece? No? Why?” Venti frowned, tilting his head slightly at the odd line of inquiry. Released the plaits in his hands, now dangling limply against his chin and cheek. The glow gone entirely.
“An impossible thought. Nevermind it.” Xiao said, and motioned at the bow. “Since you are fine, then let's resume practice. Until you learn how to not ‘glow,’ you should improve on not getting distracted. A misfire can seriously injure someone.” He instructed. Just like that, Venti found himself practicing again in spite of not wanting to.
At some point, Xiao disappeared. The yaksha didn't even bother saying anything by this point, his need to suddenly leave a normal occurrence. The help he was providing Venti wasn't his priority, and the bard took no offense about this. People's lives were far more valuable than Xiao watching Venti run back and forth, collecting the arrows as he worked on using Anemo in weaponry. Since he wasn't being watched, however, Venti grinned. There was no one to correct him if he wanted to get a little… Experimental.
So he tried different things. Tried to focus if he could feel the channeling of elements in his body. One of the times he thought he was succeeding, but it was little more than pressure that needed to be relieved… And was. Not the kind of wind he had been intending to use.
Coughing and waving his hands to escape the cloud he left behind, Venti fell backwards onto the soft mix of grass and leaves. He was exhausted. All of that felt like a waste. The only benefit was that all of his efforts seemed to have attracted a few crystalfly, and some other flying creature. The second one had a ball of light for what he assumed was a head, but could have been a body? There were tiny wings, and as it moved segmented parts trailed after like a tail. As it moved through the air, tiny wind currents flowed along with it.
Anemograna, he thought in wonder. Somehow knew this was what the child had been talking about. Reached his arm upwards, palm up towards the sky. Giggled as one anemograna tickled across his skin, wrapping around his arm like a snake and leaving goosebumps in its wake. Tried to contain his laughter when feeling more of these creatures curiously inspecting him. Like tiny little friends that wanted to say hello.
Beaming at them, he looked around to try and see just how many there were. A familiar silhouette caught his eyes, further away than Venti would have thought Xiao would be. One of the crystalfly that was heading towards Venti was trying to give the yaksha a wide birth initially, but then a hand that held Anemo was extended outwards to the small being. Inviting, the Vision attached to the shoulder the arm belonged to glowing with its use.
The crystalfly floated towards the offered hand, enticed by the Anemo it held. Swaying to and from, it slowly bobbed closer. It was mere inches away... When suddenly the creature flinched, wings flapping rapidly as the crystalfly retreated as though burned. Simultaneously, Xiao retracted his hand, body physically flinching at the rejection. Fingers curling in tightly, the soft glow of gold eyes were put out as Xiao shut them. Slowly, those orbs opened once more to look at his hand and let out a long sigh. His gaze turned away, refusing to look upon those creatures any longer.
The sight made Venti's heart ache, a sudden understanding coming with what he witnessed. What a lonely path it must have been, to dedicate one's life to saving those he could never touch. Venti looked at all the creatures around him, the sound of fluttering wings comforting. Listened to the tune of the way his heart yearned to give Xiao some of the kindness the yaksha bled, letting the music it was conducting inspire him on just how to do that.

Love with Hellfire
Chapter 1: Sucrose Pov
A harkening angelic harmony rang throughout the hall of the cathedral. Candles all around the room. The moonlight shines in through the windows. This is unholy why did I agree to this, Sucrose thought. Father Pegg said that they must do this, that this was their only way to salvation, and that Barbatos had abandoned them. She walked down the dark stairway to the cathedral basement. The others are down there, waiting for her. People who had once claimed to be servants to Lord Barbatos.
Clearly she was the only one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The basement was lit with candles, and a circle was drawn out with chalk on the floor. She was handed a dark robe by one of the sisters, which she hesitantly had put on. Then she joined the others around the circle, as Father Pegg drew some symbols in chalk.
Sucrose clasped her hands together and prayed silently to Lord Barbatos, Oh lord Barbatos, please forgive me, please let me get out of this situation unharmed. When she unclasped her hands Father Pegg began to speak.
“Oh powerful demon, we pray that you will give us your salvation as our God has abandoned us!” Father Pegg says.
Sucrose glances around to look at the others trying to understand what they are thinking. From what she can tell, they are all very excited for this salvation.
To her shock the room lights up and the ground shakes.
The floor opens up and out from the pit arises the demon.
He’s around average height, and is a bit muscular. He’s dressed quite nicely wearing a black jacket with fur trim around the edges, and some black boots. He also has long crimson red hair, tied into a ponytail. What intrigues Sucrose the most about him are his large horns, and leathery wings.
“Oh powerful demon, we beg for salvation!” Father Pegg pleads, even dropping to the ground to pray to this demon.
“Salvation?” The demon says confused. Looking down at Father Pegg.
“Yes, salvation!” Father Pegg says. I can’t help but wonder how Deaconess Barbara would feel knowing how devoted these people are to a demon.
“Hm… what do I get in return?” He asks, staring unblinking at Father Pegg. Father Pegg Smiles.
“We have gold, jewels and many luxurious goods, anything you could possibly want.” Father Pegg says.
“Anything I want?” He says, questioning just what anything really meant.
“Anything, so, do you have something in mind that you want?” Father Pegg asks, and the demon looks around the room for a moment before stopping and looking at Sucrose. Why is he looking at me! What does he want from me! Oh lord Barbatos, I’m so sorry!
“Her, I want her.” He says and points at Sucrose. Father Pegg glances at Sucrose for a second before looking back at the demon.
“Of course, Sucrose, you come over here.” Father Pegg says and motions for her to walk over with his hand. Oh no! Am I going to die, I don’t want to die!
“Do you want anything else?” Father Pegg asks the demon, the demon looks around again, considering something. Before he shakes his head.
“No, she will be all I need.” The demon says and looks at Sucrose, his gaze felt like it was piercing her soul. “You, go upstairs.” He commands her, and she quickly turns around and runs up the stairs. Once she reaches the top, she stops to catch her breath. The candles have all been put out up here. I could run, maybe the demon will leave me alone if I run. But what if he doesn’t, then he’ll be upset at me for running. What does the demon even want from me! She walks over and sits on one of the pues clasping her hands together.
“Barbatos please guide me in what to do.” She whispers, and then she hears loud screams come from the basement. Then silence. Then quiet footsteps coming up the stairs. The basement door opens and the demon looks at her. She feels a breeze on her back. A breeze? I’m inside, how did I feel a breeze? It came from behind me… if it were a stronger gust of wind it would have pushed me towards the… demon.
“What did you do?” She asks quietly, the demon glances over at her and sighs.
“I gave them salvation.” He says deadpanned. She can’t tell what he is thinking. He begins to walk off and motions for her to follow him. She quickly stands up and begins to trail behind him a few steps.
“Where are we going?” She asks. He seems nice… but maybe he’s just pretending right now.
“To the nearest gate.” He says as he walks out of the cathedral. He holds the door open for her.
She begins to speak, “There’s a lot of gates in Mond-”
“Not that kind of gate.” He interrupts her and turns to look at her.
“Then what kind of gate?” She asks very curious about what he could have meant. He chuckles softly at her question.
“Gate to the underworld.” He says leading her to an alleyway she hadn’t seen before.
“Oh.” She says her face flushed. Oh my goodness, that was such an obvious answer and I didn’t even realize it. I can’t believe this. I’m so embarrassed.
“The gate is just over here.” He says and reaches to take her hands. She’s confused by this gesture until he flies off of the ground, pulling her close to him.
“AH! What's going on!” She shrieks, for a few seconds before he kisses her. Which leaves her a quiet and confused blushing mess.
“The gate is in the sky above Cider lake. As for the kiss… you were being too loud, and my hands are full.” He says and flies over to where the gate is.
“I recommend you close your eyes, the gate is very bright.” He says and she squeezes her eyes shut.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She slowly wakes up and notices she’s not at the cathedral. She looks around the room she’s in. She’s sitting on a chair, with a tealish color to the velvet. It’s not super dark, with the light from outside coming in. She stands up and begins to walk around the building. It’s a lot larger than she had expected, but incredibly empty.
She walks into a room that looks like the kitchen and notices the demon standing at one of the counters mixing something in a bowl. He hears her walk in and glances at her.
“Oh, you’re awake. Are you hungry?” He asks. She feels her stomach grumble and nods.
“Well then sit down and I’ll share some of my food with you.” He says, pointing over at a stool she can sit at. She sits down and watches him cook for a bit.
“Um… what are you making?” She asks as he puts the batter he’s mixing away, and grabs a different bowl.
“Sourdough biscuits. They’re nice with gravy.” He says, grabbing the ready dough out of the bowl. He rolls it out on the counter top shaping them into biscuits.
“What’s your name?” She asks softly.
“Oh, I guess I haven’t told you. I’m Diluc.” He says as he puts the biscuits on a tray and puts that trey in the oven. He turns to sit on a stool close to the one Sucrose is sitting on. The silence was a bit awkward for the both of them, so Diluc went and walked off somewhere else, leaving Sucrose alone in the kitchen.
She noticed some cookbooks laid out on the counter and grabbed one. She opened it, but she couldn’t read the language they were written in. So she spent her time trying to notice characters that look similar so she could figure out how to read it.
Diluc came back to the kitchen to take the biscuits out of the oven. He puts the trey on the stove top, and leaves it there so the biscuits can cool down. He looks over at Sucrose before chuckling. He walks over to her and flips the cookbook over. Instantly she was able to read it. She looked at Diluc in shock.
“Woah! How did you do that?” She asks and he smiles.
“I just rotated the book.” He says, causing her to blush in embarrassment. Flip the book! How did I not think of that? I’m normally not that dense, maybe this whole ordeal has made me lose my common sense.
“Well when those cool down you can have as many as you want. I’m going to warm up some gravy.” He says as he begins to heat up gravy and put it into the gravy boat. He then grabs a biscuit and pours some gravy on it and eats it. How did he do that? He just warmed up the gravy, and the biscuits haven’t been out of the oven that long. Maybe demons just have a better heat resistance. She sighs and waits a few minutes before grabbing one of the biscuits. She pours herself some gravy and begins to eat her breakfast.
As the two of them eat their late breakfast, there is a knock at the door. Diluc finishes his biscuit before motioning Sucrose to go somewhere else. She obliges and goes to a room out of sight of the kitchen.
Diluc was talking to whoever had arrived at the door. I can’t make out who he's talking to. Whoever it is, I guess Diluc does not want them to see me. She stood out of sight for a few more minutes; before whoever Diluc was talking to left.
“Sucrose! You can come back now, he’s gone.” He says and Sucrose walks back into the kitchen. Diluc looks exhausted just from being in the same room with the person he had conversed with. I want to ask him who he talked to, but I feel like that is an invasion of his personal life. I’ve only known him for a few hours, maybe a day.
“The person at my door was… my estranged brother. He was asking me about last night.” Diluc says, answering Sucrose’s question.
“What about last night?” She questioned, seeming as a lot of stuff had happened the night before.
“He was asking me if I knew what happened to the cathedral.” He says, “there were fifteen of you said to be down there from eye witnesses and accounts from Pegg’s writings. They only found fourteen bodies.” He sighs.
“So… he was asking about me?” She says and Diluc nods.
“I have to do some work. So, you can do whatever, just be quiet.” He says and walks off and up the stairs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sucrose sighs, being left alone with pretty much nothing to do. She begins to walk around the seemingly endless manor wandering and going into different rooms to see if they have anything interesting. She stops when she notices a room with a pad of paper, a quill, and a small jar of ink, she grabs it and sits down at the desk. She then begins to write some letters to her family.
Dear Mom,
It’s me, Sucrose. I miss you a lot and I’ve only been here a day. I wonder how you and dad are doing. Is Emilia causing you two problems? Is Lucius being trouble? I hope not. I understand it's been a few years since I’ve last seen you all. Honestly you probably think I’m dead. I mean, maybe not yet but as time goes by you’ll probably presume I’m dead.
Life at the church was pretty calm and nice. Until others started to think that Barbatos had abandoned us. I had joined that group, I wanted to have others like me and well… Now I’m here, living in the home of a demon. While I do enjoy working in the church like you wanted me too, I kind of wish I was rebellious enough to disobey you. Please don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault this happened.
Sincerely - Your Daughter Sucrose.
She put the quill and ink away as she reread the letter. She looked confused as her face felt hot. Why is my face warm? She thought as she touched her face and felt hot, wet, tears pouring from her eyes. She didn’t even realize she had been crying. Do I really miss my family this much? I didn’t cry when I left for the church, why am I crying now? She thought for a bit before coming to the answer. Oh yeah, it’s because I probably won’t ever see them again. This made her upset and she began to quietly sob.
She heard a knock on the door and she did her best to silence her sobs. The door opens and Diluc walks in. He doesn’t say anything, just pulls out a tissue from his shirt pocket to wipe away her tears. He glances at the letter she wrote and he throws the tissue away.
“Are you tired, here let's go get something to eat.” He says and helps her stand up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diluc leads her to the dining room where a spread of food has been laid out. He pulls out a chair for her and she sits down.
“Eat whatever you want, I’ll have whatever you don’t.” He says as he sits down on a chair to her left. She begins to put a small amount of food on her plate with some bread, cheese and meats. After a few minutes she finishes eating, leaving the rest of the food to Diluc.
“I’ll eat this after you go to bed. Come with me.” He says and helps her stand up, she rubs her eyes.
“You know I’m not a child, I don’t need to be taken care of like this.” She mutters and Diluc sighs.
“I’m aware you're not a child Sucrose, however, I don’t want you to get hurt or sick.” He says. “However, if you don’t want me to help you just say it, I’m not going to force you to do something you don’t want.” He says, leading her down the hall to the room she was supposed to be staying at.
The two of them stop at a room and Diluc opens the door for Sucrose. It’s a bedroom, it has this feeling that it used to belong to someone else, it felt like the room of someone’s ghost, but Sucrose thinks it's very pretty, it's rather neutral in color, the bedsheets and rug are both white but it's neat and tidy. Sucrose eyes glance at the Wind-Wheel Asters that are in a vase on the desk. On one side of the room there is a closet.
“There are clothes in the closet, I don’t know how well they will fit you, but they are there if you want to change into something else. If you want to take a shower, that door on the right leads you to a bathroom.” Diluc says, closing the door and leaving Sucrose alone in the room.
Might as well take a shower. She thinks and walks into the bathroom, like the bedroom, she can’t help but feel like this room belongs to a ghost. She shakes her head and convinces herself to take her clothes off and shower. When she finishes her shower she finds something to sleep in for the night. The clothes are clearly too big for her, but she finds a t-shirt and shorts to wear. She walks over to the bed and pulls off the covers so she can lay down. She blows out the candle and falls asleep, wishing for the best for herself and her family.

Wish For a Wish. Yan Venti x Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: Yandere themes and unhealthy relationships. Word count: 1k.
Tumblr media
What secrets do the winds carry?
It is the job of the Anemo Archon to pay close attention. Barbatos — or Venti as he’s currently known — keens his ear to every whisper, every unspoken plea. The people of Mondstadt’s distinct voices resonate in his head. Hundreds to thousands of prayers. He feels tangible emotion emanating off each request, like the person who formed it was standing right by his side.
Please aid me in continuing to serve and protect the people of Mondstadt. Guide me in following the footsteps of Vennessa.
Let the next adventure I go on be even more exciting than the last! Maybe a few less pitfalls, if that’s okay. If not, that’s okay too. Uh, how do I sign this off? Sorry, I’ll ask Barbara next time so I know for sure. Don’t mind me!
For lupical… thank you. Makes happy.
Venti sits on the highest branch of Windrises’ overarching tree. This generation makes for an intriguing bunch, he thinks. There’s no shortage of robust personalities to fill his days with entertainment. A chorus of voices swirl and wrap around his person, some nothing but whispers and others loud as roaring thunder. Venti focuses on one particular lovely sound. It might be blasphemous for a god such as himself to play favorites, yet he’s never been the type to follow tradition.
What is it that sweet, dear [First] is praying to him for?
You aren’t necessarily devout. Venti noticed the difference in structure from your prayer to the Sisters in the Favonius Cathedral right away, though there are similarities. It isn’t often you ask him for blessings, rather, you focus on thanking him. You thank him for your health, your friends, your family. The gratitude you expressed when he blessed you with a Vision still echoes in his head to this day.
None of the ballads he composes could dare come close to the enchanting sound of your voice.
Do you know the sway you hold over your Archon? The immense favor he pours out over you, day by day? For centuries, Venti’s approach to his people was strictly hands-off, allowing the City of Freedom’s inhabitants to do as they please. He just couldn’t stop himself from making little touches in your life. You’re too beguiling for him to resist the temptation, his chest swells with joy at your happiness.
“What’ll it be today?” Venti hums underneath his breath, his eyelashes fluttering shut. This is always his favorite part. He reaches out into the pool of voices, picking yours out with tender care, allowing the timbre to wash over and consume him.
Lord Barbatos, thank you for yet another safe journey. I saw many things during my travels. At one point, a rabbit was jumping over another rabbit, it was the most precious thing. I wonder, how many times have you seen something like that in your lifetime? Do you still find it cute? I don’t think I could ever tire of something like that.
A lighthearted laugh slips past the bard’s lips. You never fail to amuse him with the details you so generously include with your prayers. Perhaps when he runs across you in the city next — oh, how he just can’t wait — he’ll serenade you with an old song involving hares. Or would that be too obvious? You’ve never appeared to pick up on the little hints Venti practically spoon-feeds you.
I noticed storm cloud’s overhead and had to take shelter at Dawn Winery before I could get back home. There’s rarely anything more Mondstadt-esque than taking refuge at a place known for alcohol. I felt especially patriotic amongst the wine. And, who would’ve thought. Master Diluc was home that day! He personally insisted that I’d come inside rather than being caught out in the storm. Master Diluc might act aloof, but he has a caring heart.
Ah yes, the Darknight Hero. Venti stops swinging his legs, listening intently to hear the rest of what you had to say. Since when did you start thinking so highly of Diluc?
With that, today, I humbly come before you with a single request.
Please, if it is your will, let him return my feelings. I—
Venti’s humming pauses. He sits perfectly still, not moving even an inch, the rest of the world continuing on and leaving him behind. Birds flap their wings and whisk by, a passing breeze rustles the great branch’s leaves. So the one that you’ve begun to carry in your heart is Diluc, hm? Still… to be so cruel that you ask for his favor, to give you into the arms of another, that just wasn’t fair. It’s Venti who cares for you. Venti who blessed you with control over the wind, that could eventually rival a god, granting you a mastery others could only dream of.
I plan to confess to him tonight.
The life of an immortal is lonely.
I could be reading into it too much, but I’ve seen him smile at me, so maybe there’s a chance—
So, terribly lonely. He loses more than he gains. It doesn’t have to be that way this time, he reasons. Has he not sacrificed enough? Maybe it would be okay for him to be selfish just once. It isn’t often that the Anemo Archon was, despite what others may think. You could learn to appreciate his presence. He would lavish you in unrivaled love — kisses and praises pressed against your skin — fueled by passion he thought only possible in fiction.
Venti could do it. He could take you far away, twist lies of deceit to remedy your absence; you would be powerless against the might of a god. Would you cry? Whimper for the freedom that Mondstadt was meant to promise? How many prayers would fall on deaf ears — his ears — uttered in pure desperation to a god who would no longer answer you.
Then again, he isn’t certain.
I hope this wasn’t embarrassing to listen to. Thank you for hearing me out, Lord Barbatos. Let the wind lead.
“Ah. What to do, what to do…”

HII I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD DO A GENSHIN CROSSOVER?
Like you can do any of these ideas or both if you're interested :
Do the reactions of the brothers +barbatos if you want to a MC who's an archon (doesn't have to match in game personalities) who can control wind, earth, electricity or whatever power you'd like and pls don't make it angst anything but that, just suprised brothers
------------------------------------>
Do the reactions of the brothers with Jean and Barbara if they were in devildom and Jean is very protective of barbara and they still have their powers, weapons and outfits and they slowly warm up to them
Genre is comfort
---------------------------------------->
Thank you for reading and I'll be patient for your reply
How Did We Get Here? | Obey Me x Genshin Impact |
A/N: Both of these ideas are amazing, I do want to write both and most likely will but I will write the second one first.
Summary: Jean and Barbara, Acting Grand Master and Deaconess of Mondstadt, find themselves in a strange hellish place surrounded by strange yet threatening beings..
Genre: Comfort (I tried)
Warnings: This is kind of long and a lot of it feels like “filler” although I tried to shorten it down to make it more consumable, also timeskips.. so many timeskips.
——————
One moment Jean was working on paperwork, the next she was thrusted into a sort of courtroom place. She fell hard on her butt and her head hurt like crazy, probably thanks to her overworking.
“Sister!”
She heard a familiar voice and looks up to see her sister, Barbara, looking at her with a worried expression. “I’m alright” She looks around and saw a bunch of men in front of them, all staring at them while staying silent. She quickly rose to her feet and hid Barbara behind her.
“Who are you all?!” She questions in a stern voice while glaring at who she assumed was the leader or boss of some sort, a red head with golden eyes.
“I would advise against that tone.” The dual haired man behind the red head glares.
“It’s alright, Barbatos” The red heard assures.
Wait Barbatos?
Jean’s body seem to of tensed up and relaxed at the same time, causing an uncomfortable twist in her body.
“I’m Diavolo, I’m the ruler here in the Devildom and president of RAD.” He stood up, walking down to with the green haired fellow, who claimed to be Barbatos, following him to greet the two sisters. Barbara seem to hold onto Jean a little more tightly as he came down.
“Who might you be?” He asks.
Jean looks up at him, a bit surprised by just his height. “I’m Jean. Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favionus.” She replies. “I’m Barbara, Deaconess of the Church of Mondstadt” The smaller replies after.
“Ain’t ya a bit young to be a deaconess?” A white haired fellow replies from his seat, but he was quick to shut up when another figure slaps the back of his head.
Jean sighs. “It’s nice to meet you, Diavolo however we both have quite important jobs to do and I want to get back to Mondstadt as soon as possible” Jean says. “Yes, I understand that” The tall figures eyebrows furrow, giving the formally dressed man a glance, to which he gave a bow and walks out. “Barbatos will look into that and we will try to get you back to Mondstadt”
Jean still found it.. weird and creepy, that there was someone named Barbatos here, when he was their god. “Thank you.” She simply says. “What, and where, is this place?” Jean asks. “Ah yes! I should tell you more about this place” Diavolo crosses his arms.
“This is the Devildom, which is just a fancy term for hell” He starts, Barbara seem rather shocked by that. “As I have mentioned, I’m well, the future ruler of the Devildom” He hums. A black haired male makes his way beside Diavolo. “This is Lucifer! Avatar of pride and my best friend” Jean noticed that he seemed rather upset at being called a “best friend”, she wondered what was wrong.
“I think you should introduce your brothers”
“Right, yes” Lucifer sighs, glancing at the seats behind him, gesturing to the same white haired male that made the deaconess comment.
“That is Mammon, the second eldest and avatar of greed” He says, Jean noticed that he looked rather mopey but bored. He then gestures to another figure with purple hair covering his eyes, he was playing on a mini console of some sort.
“That is Leviathan, third eldest and avatar of envy, however you can just call him Levi” He looked up for a slight second and he and Barbara made eye contact, however he quickly became red and slumped down even more while hiding his face. Strange...
Barbara’s attention on Levi was pulled away when Lucifer continued the introduction. “Next, this is Satan, fourth eldest and avatar of wrath” Both the sisters got an uneasy feeling from his smiling face, perhaps it’d be best to stay away from him..
“Ooo! Me next!” Lucifer sighs as the next guy came up to them. “I’m Asmodeus! Avatar of lust and fifth eldest, nice to meet you~” He hums, a smile on his face. “Asmo, stop making them uncomfortable” Satan chastised from his seat. “I’m not! Don’t worry TanTan” Contrary to what Asmo believed, Jean held onto Barbara more, seeming more cautious around him.
Lucifer pushed Asmo back to his seat, and after him being hissy and complaining, he sat back down with a hmph.
“And finally” Lucifer continues. “The twins, fifth and sixth eldest Beelzebub and Belpehegor, avatar of gluttony and sloth” He gestures to one rather muscular tall fellow and one well, short fellow, one was eating and one was laying against him, looking rather bored and looking like he was about to doze off. “You can call them Beel and Belphie for simplicity” The finishes.
Jean slowly nods. “Okay..” She clears her throat. “It’s nice to meet you all” She gave a smile, a hesitant one but a smile nonetheless. “Likewise.” Lucifer looks at Diavolo who just nods, the eldest walks back to his seat while Diavolo took over.
“While you wait to return home, you two can stay in the House of Lamentation” The prince says. “It’s rather.. unsafe here in the Devildom for humans like you, so Mammon and Satan will be your guides for now” Jean shakes her head.
“No, it’s quite alright, I can protect the both of us.”
Barbara frowns, once again, Jean wasn’t accepting help, but that was mostly likely necessary.
“Oh? Can you?” Diavolo raises an eyebrow. “Well it’s more complicated than protecting yourself, I’m afraid” Barbara put a hand on her heart as she looked at Jean.
“I think we should accept their help.. This is a strange place after all-“
Jean was hesitant to accept the help but Satan’s eyes widened as he stood up. “Wait, are those what I think they are?” Lucifer glares at him. “What in the three realms are you on about now?” He asks. Satan walks over to them, Barbara noticed that he was looking at her vision.
“Ah.. This?” Barbara looks down at her hydro vision. “Please don’t touch it, it’s rather important-“ She warns. “Can it break?” Satan asks. “W-Well I’m not sure, I haven’t ever tried to destroy it..” Barbara murmurs. Jean gave him a light glare.
“Satan, that’s enough.” Lucifer speaks in a harsh tone.
Satan rolls his eyes before going back to his seat, Jean saw him quietly mocking the eldest, did he have no respect for him? It didn’t appear that way. The acting grand master looks up at Diavolo.
“Alright, I suppose this shouldn’t be too bad..” Jean murmurs, nodding.
“Great!” Diavolo looks at the brothers. “Student council meeting is dismissed, do try to help these two get comfortable for the time they are here”
The brothers got up and Lucifer told Jean and Barbara to follow them, to which they did. The young deaconess kept close to her sister as she heard whispers from all sorts of people.
“Lucifer!”
Jean lifts her head a bit when she heard a voice and someone coming up to them. She stayed silent as the person squeezed him and look at the sisters. “Oo! Are these some new exchange students?” They ask. “Not exactly” Satan interjects. “They fell through a portal when a student council meeting was in session” He explains. “Ohh” They hum.
“Nice to meet ya! I’m MC”
“Nice to meet you too” Jean nods. “I’m Jean, and this is my sister Barbara.”
“They are staying at the house while Barbatos tries to figure out how to send them home, we got instructions to just make them comfortable” Lucifer told MC.
“Oh really?” They snort. “I won’t get into much detail but I had a similar time coming here” They wave their hand dismissively. “Onward! Let us go!” They grab Mammon’s hand and ran with him.
Jean blinks a few times before looking at Satan, who sighs. “Please tell me you aren’t as reckless as they are.” He says. “I would like to think of myself as not reckless” She says. Satan nods. “Once we get there, I’ll give you a tour of the house” Jean nods back.
“This is quite strange...” Barbara comments when Satan was out of earshot. Jean nods. “I just hope everyone isn’t panicking” She knew they mostly likely were but she trusted Kaeya, Lisa and Amber to have the situation handled.
————
Much later, after the house tour, Jean and Barbara has gotten comfortable. Barbara was letting Asmo paint her nails while Satan was questioning them both about their visions while writing things down. Jean was a bit curious about the twins, but before she could ask about them, the muscular ginger, who Jean remembered to be Beelzebub, came in with something in his mouth.
He sat beside Jean and offers a chicken drumstick. “Ah, thanks for the offer Beelzebub, but I’m alright” She politely declines. He just shook his head, still holding it out to her. She took it with a thank you and ate it.
Beel looks at Barbara. “Hey uh.. Do you sing?” He asks. Barbara looks up from Asmo and nods. There was a small squeal from the hall and everyone looks to see what it was, it was Levi.
“A-Are you saying you’re an idol!?” Barbara gulps down air before nodding. “Yes, I am an idol in Mondstadt..” She says. “You remind of another idol I know— Wait I shouldn’t say that-“ He became a rambling mess. Asmo rolls his eyes. “Don’t mind him, he’s just a little kooky when it comes to idols”
Barbara nods, she was use to people being like this. “Levi-“ She says his name to get his attention, which it does. “When Asmo is done painting my nails, I’ll be glad to sing you a song” She offered. “W-Wait really?” Jean and Barbara thought he was about to explode-
It was weird, Levi barely knows them and he’s acting like he’s been a long time fan of Barbara. “Correct me if I’m wrong” Satan says. “But you said that your songs heal people?” Barbara nods. “To an extent, yes.” That just made Levi freak out even more.
“Wait are you serious?! T-This is too high levelled for me.. Ahhh!” He ran back to his room. “Is.. Is he okay?” Barbara asks. “Yep, he’s always like this” Asmo hums, dipping the nail polish brush back into it’s container and closing it.
—————
Barbara knocks on Levi’s door. “Levi? It’s Barbara” She says.
Nothing.
She was about to walk away when the door bursts open. She hesitantly walks in and looks around, there were figurines, books and pillows, it was clean, very clean. Barbara closes the door behind her and saw a chair turned backside to her, she heard quiet mumbling coming from it.
She looks around more and took a spot on the bed, moving the pillows of characters out of the way. Eventually Levi worked up enough courage to turn in her direction but kept his eyes strictly on the ground or closed.
“There’s no need for that-“ She assures, giving her friendly smile.
“B-But you’re an idol! H-How can I even face you?!” He sputters.
“I’m no one special, I just sing to make people happy and heal them”
“T-That’s easy for you to say!”
Barbara sighs before an awkward silence filled the room.
“S-Sorry.. I’m j-just not use to people like you in my room..”
“Like I said, I’m not any different from you, I just sing as a career.. If I have to admit, Mondstadt is pretty small, or at least the town is, so I don’t think I’m world wide popular”
Levi shook his head. “F-Forget it.. ah.. You can leave if you want..”
“No, I made a promise to sing for you, so I’m going to do that” She stood up, clearing her throat and began singing a tune. Levi perks up as she sang, he felt a cut on his hand healing and when he looked at it, it was healing off, no pain whatsoever.
When she was done, she opens her eyes and smiles, noticing that Levi was staring at the back of his hand in awe. She giggles, catching his attention once again. “Well.. If there isn’t anything else, I’ll get going” She walks over to the door and looks at him once last time in case he wanted to ask or say something more. He was a stuttering mess.
“C-Can I get an autograph?!”
Barbara’s eyes widen, she and Jean were only staying temporarily but he still wanted an autograph?
“Sure! Do you have a pen and something for me to sign?”
He quickly fumbles around things with his desk and grabs a pen and blank book. Barbara walks over and takes the pen offered to her and signs the book. She realized there were all kinds of names in it, she didn’t want to assume but he seemed to shy around idols, so did he ask his brothers to get the autographs for him?
She put her name down and gave him back the pen and book. “Well it was nice to meet you Levi” She waves a bit. “I’ll be heading off now, goodbye” She walks out, hearing a loud and high squeal coming from his room when she closed the door.
—————
The sisters were invited to the castle, Satan and Mammon went with them to protect them and guide them there. A lower demon approaches them and tries to make conversation, trying to charm the acting grand master, however Mammon just glares at the demon.
“Why dontcha scram?”
The demon seemed frightened by his glare and threatening aura around him.
“Sorry Lord Mammon.” They simply murmur and scurry off.
“That’s what I thought” Mammon huffs.
Barbara blinks a few times. “Lord? But isn’t just Diavolo royalty?” She asks. Satan sighs. “We probably should’ve explained that us brothers are the seven rulers of hell, think of it as.. Diavolo is at the top and we’re after him” He says.
“Whenever someone needs to be punished for a crime, we all spout suggestions on what should be done, but Diavolo is the guy with the final say” Mammon shrugs.
Jean nods slowly, it’s all so weird to see how the hierarchy is set up here, she couldn’t imagine many people being happy with this, and with what Mammon said in mind, she wondered what crimes people could get punished for and how severe the punishment is.
They got to the castle. Diavolo wanted to talk to Jean and Barbara, wanted to get to know them. He excused the brothers and told them he’d bring them back to the HoL. So they left and the two sisters were left alone with Diavolo in the lounge area.
“So, what is Mondstadt like?” Diavolo asks, having this curious childlike smile on his face. “Well” Jean starts. “Mondstadt is the City of Freedom and our god is Barbatos” She says. “There’s this plaza, and the Knights of Favionus headquarters is a little ways away from that on the left, then there is the Barbatos statue and the church behind that” She explains. “I’m certainly surprised that somewhere in the human world there is someone who sees Barbatos as a god”
“Human world?” Barbara asks.
“Yes, to us, here in the Devildom, there is, well.. The Devildom, the Celestial Realm and the human world” He explains. “Celestial Realm, hm?” Jean hums. “In Teyvat, there is Celestia” Diavolo chuckles and Barbatos walks in with some a tea pot and teacups. He sets the tea set down, putting cups in front of the prince and guests, pouring some tea in the cups.
“Barbatos, have you found a way for them to return home?” Diavolo asks.
“Yes, although it will be a major risk to attempt to try and make a portal back now, and after some calculations, I would highly advise against attempting to make a portal back” Jean frowns, she wouldn’t want neither of them getting hurt.
“We can stay for the night and see if the connection is more stable tomorrow, if that is okay with you.” Jean looks at the prince, who nods. “Yes, I think that would be best, you can stay in the House of Lamentation for tonight” Jean nods back and looks at Barbara, who had an uneasy look on her face but she simply nods, indicating that she was okay with it if it was for one night.
—————
Coincidentally, tonight was a movie night in the House of Lamentation, and so the brothers and three humans all gathered to watch a movie.
“We should let Jean and Barbara pick!”
“Are you sure MC?”
“Yes I’m sure, pick away-“
“Just don’t choose horror.. please-“
“You’re a chicken, Mammon-“
“No I ain’t!”
They ended up choosing a musical, and that ended up Asmo being one hell of a singer with Barbara. Asmo danced with the young blonde, Jean noticed she looked rather happy, so she was okay with it, laughing a bit while they danced.
Lucifer kept glancing at Jean, he saw her as a hardworking person, she didn’t want help, but not for the same reason as him, it seemed that the acting grand master didn’t want to trouble anyone, along with that, she seemed ready to help anyone with anything, even minuscule tasks. Lucifer wasn’t sure how to feel about her but he felt one thing was true.
She was too nice.
————
The day came and everyone went to the castle to see the two off before the portal returned them home. MC hugs the two and back away, putting their hands on their hips. “It was nice meeting you guys” They say. Jean smiles and nods. “It was nice meeting you too, MC” Barbara nods as well, smiling. Asmo swung his arms around Barbara.
“That singing and dancing session we had last night was so awesome! I hope more people come to your town to hear your beautiful voice~”
Everyone said their goodbyes, Barbatos opens the portal and before Jean and Barbara left, they turn to everyone, put their hand on their heart and Jean smiles.
“May the Anemo Archon Protect You”
With that, they step through the portal, and it closes.
—————
“Jean!” The two sisters appear in the acting grand master’s office and they are met with a surprised yet relieved Amber, surprised Kaeya and smiling Lisa.
“Where were you two?” Kaeya asks.
“It’s.. quite a long story.”
———
A/N:
ANDDDD DONE!
I’m sort of disappointed with this, at some point I got lazy and I’m not a big fan of how long this is but I hope you like it!
I’ll definitely be writing that first idea, so stay tuned for that @keqingsfavbestie

Part 1

Tumblr media
I woke up at the Cathedral, with a strong light source shining in my face. I groan before place my hand in front of my face in attempt to block the strong rays of light. " Oh, thank Barbatos you're awake!" Barbara said from her spot beside me. "You wouldn't be thanking Barbatos if you knew he did this to me" I thought as I attempted to sit up. A sharp pain in my side awakened all my senses. "Hey! You aren't completely healed so don't push yourself to hard, ok?" Barbara said as she helped me sit up. I nodded as I looked off to the corner of the room, recalling all that had previously happened before I ended up here. Barbara seemed to notice this and said "If you're wondering, sister Rosaria brought you here right before she headed back out. You're lucky you were unconscious, she had the most terrifying look on her face as she headed out. Even I was scared!" Barbara said as she stabilized some tools she had used before.
"Has anyone come to visit me me?" I asked with a glint of hope in my voice though it was hoarse from not speaking for some time. "No, sorry y/n" Barbara said with a sad smile. Tears pooled in my eyes as I continued to stare off in the corner. " If you're feeling down, you can walk around a bit, but try not to get in too much trouble" Barbara said in an attempt to lighten the mood. I smile and get up from the bed with some help from Barbara.
After getting ready, I head out from the cathedral with my head empty. My wound wasn't completely healed yet it didn't hurt as much as my heart. Or maybe the pain in my heart far surpassed that of the wound. I walked till I reached the statue of the seven as Windrise. This was way further than I was allowed to go but at this point I couldn't care less. I looked at the statue with anger boiling in my heart. "Barbatos is a d*ck" I thought. I had the idea of destroying the statue but the last thing I need is a political issue. I look at the scenery in front of me. The sun was setting and set a faint honey glaze upon the land. It was beautiful, it was calming, it made me forget my pain and anguish.
I head back to monstadt not running into any monsters or hilichurls on the way. When I had the bridge where timmy normally fed the pigeons not to far away , A voice called out. " y/n! There you are, I was looking all over for you" Venti said as he hurried towards you. " How are you feeling? Sister Rosaria told me you were injured so I didn't expect you to be out here" Venti said as his eyes scanned for any wounds. Standing not to far away from him was miss blonde herself, Lumine. "If you heard I was injured, why didn't you head to the cathedral? Why are you heading out of monstadt?" I asked him in a blank voice. " I..." he started but I cut him off. " You know want Venti, I think I should go" I say in a tired voice. I got about a step past him when his hand gripped my wrist. I turn around to face him with a blank expression. Lumine seemed to get uncomfortable and decided to go into the gates with Paimon. "Why did you call me that?" Venti said as he looked at me with a hurt expression. The wind around us picked up ever so slightly. "I called you by your name, or would you rather I call you by your real one" I say monotonously. " Are you ok? Love, what happened to you? Please talk to me" He said worriedly as his eyes searched mine. " Lumine happened" I say. "What?" he says confused.
"I love you Venti, I hope you know that. I love you more than anything, so you should know how much it hurt me to see you with her" I say as my vision became blurry. "Lumine? " Venti asks slowly and I replied with a nod. "No, you got it all..." he said releasing my wrist but I cut in. "All wrong? Venti, I was impaled, I bled out on the floor and fought for my life, I thought I wasn't going to make it and do you know what I saw in these moments? You and her, having an amazing fucking time alone in the middle of the forest. I was hurt Venti, I couldn't move or look away, I cried, harder than you can imagine. I love you so fucking much so why can't you do the same? Why can't you love me the same? I get it you're the god of freedom, you do what you want, but I thought you cared about me but...." I pause and take a deep breathe trying to calm my tears and control my nerves. " If you love Lumine then, I'll..." I was cut off mid-sentence when a pair of soft lips landed on mine. The kiss was sweet and passionate. I was left speechless when he pulled away and rested his forehead on mine. I looked at him and saw tears running down his cheek "I don't" he whispered. "I love you" he whispered as he sealed our lips again.

How Genshin Characters View the Traveler (aka crushes galore)
I know this isn't a Genshin blog but I need to get this off my chest and organize my thoughts because I believe in Aether harem supremacy ✌
Disclaimer: this is meant for fun, so don’t get your knickers in a twist
Albedo
Albedo blatantly admits that the traveler fascinates them. He'll usually ask to hear of their numerous journeys and take notes on them. He quite enjoys their company, but Albedo is pretty clueless about his own feelings, especially those of the romantic sort. He wonders why he catches himself staring at them so much.
Amber
Amber is easily one of the traveler’s biggest supporters. She almost gets a bit too excited whenever they’re around, but she’ll also outright deny that she has a crush on them if anyone were to poke fun at her. If time allows it, she’ll often ask them to go gliding around Mondstadt with her.
Ayaka
Ever since she first heard of the traveler, their accomplishments genuinely impressed Ayaka. However, once she first met them in person, she was taken aback by how attractive they were. Furthermore, once they helped her out, she gets more insight of how truly wonderful they are and her affections (hence the dance performance).
Barbara
Barbara truly believes they are an actual gift sent by Barbatos himself. Not only are they kind and helpful, but they treat her with respect as a person, not some glorified object. She tends to get flustered easily and turns shy whenever the traveler compliments her.
Beidou
Beidou likes to laugh, and she thinks the traveler is funny. She often swaps stories about fights and adventures with them, so there’s definitely a bond between them! She especially appreciates their fighting spirit and would be honored to have them join their crew or at least be a drinking buddy (despite what the traveler says).
Bennett
The traveler is essentially an idol in Bennett's eyes. He admires them so much, but it never gets to the creepy level of obsession. He jumps at the opportunity to travel with them every time. Bennett isn't really good with distinguishing feelings, but knowing that they treat him as an equal makes his stomach flutter.
Childe
Hey girlie 😏 Childe gets off to the idea of someone successfully kicking his ass or potentially being able to kill him, so he is an absolute simp for the traveler. He genuinely loves it when they show disinterest at his flirting, and he swoons whenever they're sarcastic with him. He's not pathetic, he's just a sadomasochist.
Chongyun
Frankly, Chongyun’s just happy to have another friend besides Xingqiu. He also really likes the way they don’t push him out of his comfort zone, but instead try to gently coax him out. He’s often very cold to the touch and constantly chilly, but he feels oddly warm whenever the traveler is beside him.
Diluc
Appreciates the fact that the traveler isn't full of shit (unlike some people). He's impressed by their competence and their fighting abilities, so he doesn't hesitate in complimenting them. He usually says things without really thinking through them, so sometimes Diluc says something sappy or embarrassing without meaning to.
Diona
Diona thinks the traveler may or may not be cute. She won't admit it, though. She won't admit that she cares about their wellbeing either. The traveler is just another person who's going to come and go, so there's no point in getting invested in them. It's a relatively simple crush, nothing more.
Eula
Eula is more or less impressed with the traveler. She views them as a truly reliable person that is able to get the job done. Although she may seem skeptical at times, one of her greatest fantasies is to find more rebellious people like them and break free of Mondstadt and her lineage.
Fischl
Perhaps the traveler is a dashing monarch from another world! It genuinely excites her that they follow along with her roleplaying, even when some of her messages get lost in translation. She appreciates their friendly gestures and the fact they don’t treat her like an outsider.
Ganyu
A lot of people have a difficult have a hard time understanding Ganyu’s feelings, so it came as quite as a surprise that she and the traveler clicked almost instantly. The traveler treats her as another person, not as some ancient being; this type of behavior is what made her become flustered around them in the first place ☺️
Hu Tao
Thinks they’re super cute! She’s one who’s playful and flirty; however, her ways are a bit odd. She usually tries to tell what kind of casket she’d lick out for the traveler, what she’d dress them in, etc. Sometimes, she’ll bake “special cookies” in the shapes of bones just for them.
Jean
Much like Barbara, Jean sees the traveler as a blessing. However, unlike Barbara, Jean doesn't swoon over their looks or mannerisms; frankly, she's just glad that someone rational is willing to help and not make too much of a commotion (like some certain members of the Knights of Favonius).
Kazuha
Has feelings for the traveler and makes no effort to hide them. Often times Kazuha will write them poems or haikus; sometimes he'll add dried flowers or a pretty leaf. He truly has a way with words, and it never fails to stir something inside the traveler's chest. He's very gentle and mild-mannered, so he never forces anything too heavy on them.
Kaeya
Kaeya is a humongous flirt and everyone knows it. However, he seems even more so once the traveler is in the picture, and he has the tendency of showing off in some sort of way. He knows he's attractive and uses his looks to advantage whenever he can, though he makes sure to keep it somewhat subtle.
Keqing
Keqing isn’t the type to deal with people’s shit and isn’t fond of fools. Fortunately, the traveler doesn’t fall into either of those categories, so she gets along with them quite well. She can find similarities in their personalities (like working constantly), so she appreciates the fact that she can openly discuss these sort of problems with them.
Klee
Genuinely sees them as an older sibling! Klee often goes to them for advice or to spend the day together; often times, she'll send letters or drawings whenever they're apart (and yes, the drawings usually consist of her and the traveler blowing something up).
Lisa
Another flirt, no problems asked. Lisa makes euphemisms quite a bit, and it truly brings her joy when her comments make the traveler blush. Despite being scolded by Jean to tone it down a bit, she genuinely can't help it. The traveler is her personal cutie, and it's only natural for her to treat them as such, isn't it?
Mona
She could easily tell right away that the traveler was someone special upon first glance. Mona sometimes dreams about them - especially about how they helped her out and landed her a place to stay in Mondstadt. She’s grateful for everything that the traveler has done, yet she’ll deny any feelings for them with a bright blush on her face.
Ningguang
The traveler is seen more as a pet. Ningguang is straight up the sugar mama type, and she openly flaunts it. Granted, she respects the traveler highly, but something about their being Liyue’s hero sounds very, very charming. Whether or not she makes a romantic move is entirely up to her, but it’s not out of the question.
Noelle
Needless to say, Noelle gets flustered fairly easily, so whenever the traveler shows affection and support towards her abilities, she somewhat short-circuits. She'll usually try to play off the fluttering in her heart and simply convince herself that the traveler is only being nice, but she can't deny the fact that she has feelings for them.
Qiqi
Another one that looks up to the traveler as an older sibling. She often refers to her notebook to remind herself as to why she likes them so much; they’re patient with her and genuinely try to help her remember things, plus they’ll bring her candies from Mondstadt sometimes.
Razor
Razor has no idea what romantic feelings are or how he should identify them. All he knows is that he gets excited whenever he sees the traveler, and his metaphorical tail wags furiously. He's keen on protecting them and bringing them food, plus he likes to lie next to them when they relax by the fire.
Rosaria
Like Diluc, Rosaria likes how the traveler isn’t full of shit and can actually put up a decent fight. However, she isn’t the type to compliment them, but rather points out how they can further hone their skills. If anything, she acts more like the traveler’s drunk aunt.
Sayu
She’s mostly indifferent towards the traveler, but - like with most people - she envies their height. Sayu appreciates that they don’t make fun of her size, plus they somehow always manage to find her when she’s hiding for her nap, so she’s fairly interested in what kind of person they are.
Sucrose
Like with most people, Sucrose is quite shy around the traveler, but for some reason she feels more comfortable around them than anyone else. She respects them much like she respects Albedo. She also thinks the traveler has a very nice smile.
Thoma
Thoma is another flirt, but he’s much more reserved in his ways. He’ll often make encouraging comments or flatter the traveler with a bright smile. His flirting either makes the traveler blush or it goes right over their head. There is no in between.
Venti
Venti has a slight... obsession for them. Not in a creepy way, but more in a clingy sense. He practically hangs from them whenever he's messing around, and he unashamedly writes them songs. Venti is also a big fan of hugs! When he's drunk, though, that's when things take a darker, more seductive turn...
Xiangling
Xiangling’s poor little heart goes doki doki whenever she gets to cook for the traveler, have them cook with her, or eat a meal that they prepared. The way to her heart is definitely through her stomach! It’s a fairly small crush since cooking is her true love in life, but if the traveler pops up at Wanmin Restaurant and specifically asks for her again… Oh boy.
Xiao
Secretly has feelings for the traveler, but he refuses to admit it. Xiao thinks feelings like these are a waste of time and only bring pain; since he's been through much and the ultimate emo, he's even more emotionally constipated than the normal person. Although he doesn't outright say it, he'll often show his affection through actions.
Xingqiu
Two words: library dates. Whether if it's meant to be romantic or not, Xingqiu has an affinity for those who show genuine intelligence and is willing to discuss stories with him. Xingqiu could literally sit there all day and listen to the traveler tell him about the different worlds he's been to. It's quite refreshing!
Xinyan
Like Venti, Xinyan will write songs for the traveler, but she's more timid about showing them since rock music has yet a long way to go in Liyue, much less in Teyvat. She'll casually invite them for a jam session and ask for their opinion on how her songs sound. All in all, she thinks the traveler is pretty rad 👀
Yanfei
Yanfei is very skilled and knowledgeable in a wide range of topics, but when it comes to the art of seduction… not so much. She isn’t entirely sure if she has affections towards the traveler or not, but she enjoys being in their company nonetheless. However… she may or may not have tried to teach them Liyue law while over tea 😅
Yoimiya
Thinks the traveler is a lot of fun! She was already interested by the mere fact that they were an outsider, but once they showed their worth and came to her aid, it really sealed the deal. Viewing fireworks with them was an incredibly crucial moment, and she’ll keep that memory stored in her heart for all time.
Zhongli
Zhongli is very protective of them and wants to spoil them, but at the same time, he's also very, very broke. It's not sugar daddy status, obviously, but he enjoys treating them out to a dinner or a night on the town. The traveler thinks he's doing it just to be nice, but Paimon calls bullshit.

Im not even gonna go anonymous anymore. Arghh asking for another request makes me feel guilty knowing you have an essay due so i'll just present you a little prompt!
Being immortal and outliving people you love, you know the drill. It must be sad and lonely. But you know what i feel like would be devastating? Just imagine Teyvat in a time loop. Meeting your friends for the first time, getting know them, hearing their plans and ambitions, sticking with them through dark times, falling in love... Reader just happens to be the one to witness all of it over and over and over again.
Don’t worry about it! I’m horrifically avoiding it right now. I’ll probably have some lunch and do some more of it after lunch. I’m talking about things I enjoy so hopefully it wont take up too much of my brain and we’re going to ignore the graphic novel I have to create in 2 weeks too lmao I’m a professional procrastinator
I have a bit of an idea with this so I hope you don’t mind it being platonic and with the Mondstat guys either. I’m going to reference a previous set of headcanons where you’re the leader of the winds. The two writings aren’t related relationship wise though.
Pairings; (Platonic) people of Mondstat x reader
Warning(s); angst
Keep reading under the cut!
You had done this cycle millions of times before. Before you even became the leader of the winds, when you were just a small spirit. Much like your friend Barbatos.
And while the archon of this land could sleep for thousands of years at a time you had elected to protect his people from the dangers that the god of freedom was too asleep to do anything about. And in fairness you can understand why Barbatos has been asleep many a time to avoid his brain contaminating with similar ideals to Decrabain. You can’t blame him really...
But you’re so horrifically lonely. And it’s not like you’re surrounded by an absence of people. In reality you often find yourself over compensating for your loneliness. Nights are often spent in the tavern conversing with mortals that you can’t quite understand.
You half wish you could ascend to Celestia, at least there you can be merry with fellow immortals and not have the constant threat of losing a friend dear.
You have known the Ragnvindr family for many generations. It’s not like they are hard to notice. Bright red hair and, more often than not, a sweet, bubbly personality. Not many of the Ragnvindr’s have been blessed with visions, but they all make their way through life the best way possible. And while they seem to show similar thought processes to the previous anemo archon, especially considering the fact they basically own the alcohol industry in Mondstat, and more recently Teyvat in her entirety. But when you see the family treating their employee’s so well and with a great wage you can’t help but think maybe humanity can move past the age of dictators. Or at least the humans of Mondstat.
The newest Ragnvindr, Diluc had always caught your eye. You had helped babysit both him and his brother while you weren’t busy reminiscing in memories of old mondstat and slaying monsters of your home. The air of change hangs heavy on the air when you’re around them, it seems like the winds you lead are trying to tell you something that you can’t yet decipher.
Until the day comes when you can. Seeing a broken, sobbing Diluc shut you out of his home not only made you sad. But, it infact reminded you that you shouldn’t get too close to mortals. For, like your friend Crepus’, mortal life is fleeting.
You’ve seen many stories over the years, but there’s only so many times you can hear the same story before they all meld together.
Take Amber for instance, decided to become an Outrider because of her Grandfather. How many times had you heard that story? Someones grandfather joined the knights and inspired them? Too many to count. And as much as you want to remember Ambers story, you already know, like all the others, her memory will meld with the others.
Kaeya’s story isn’t one you’ll forget quickly, especially when the deeds of  Khaenri'ah weigh heavy on your mind. Though you have seen a small handful of changing of alliance stories in your lifetime his is probably the one that’ll stick the most. Especially when the memory of him crying in your arms after the man he considered a father died.
There’s this one young girl you remember from centuries ago. She reminds you of Barbara a lot. Carefree, loves the people she works for. Just this girl was born a few millennia too early. She was apart of the Windblume resistance alongside the bard Barbatos fashioned himself after. You had attempted to smuggle the girl out the fortress many a time yet she always wanted to help.
Sometimes when you watch Barbara sing you can’t help but cry over a girl you considered your first friend after becoming leader of the winds. Barbara is under the impression that you hate her because of how you avoid the girl. But being constantly reminded of someone you couldn’t save in the end makes you so sad. You’re not sure how Barbatos copes with donning the face of a friend when you can barely look at the face of someone who reminds you of a lost friend.
Razor sits fondly on your mind. He reminds you of the people you did actually save in old Mondstat. You remember checking in on a handful of refugees that you had to hide in old caves and how easily they had climatized to foraging for food. Whenever you see Razor you’re reminded of another young boy who went missing millennia ago who was later found to have been raised by bears.
Through the centuries you’ve become good at pairing up couples. You seem to be able to point out people who will later enter a marriage. You’re not sure if soulmates and reincarnation exists, but that’s your only explanation being able to point to couples so easily.
You wonder for an immortal like yourself would be blessed with a soulmate. Especially considering you weren’t originally in a humanoid form. Maybe there’s some thousand wind out there for you that you’ll never be able to meet and fall for because of this form.
Your mind stretches to Barbatos whenever you think this but you never let yourself linger on it for too long. Lord Barbatos doesn’t like commitment, and you’re very much content with that, yes sir.
Your eyes often linger on Rosaria as you often ponder if she thinks she’s the only nun to have strayed from typical nun doings. You remember telling a small Rosaria tales of Decrabains nuns and how they helped with the resistance against the tyrant. You wonder if that’s what gave her the idea to stray from typical nunnery.
You smile upon Lisa fondly, a bright young woman with aspirations as high as the stars. Much like Rosaria you remember telling a young Lisa about alchemy and sorcery. She had such a knack for it, and seeing the woman return after only two years of study was a little disheartening. But you’re sure there will be people after her who will have similar aspirations with better outcomes. It’s not unlike you’ve seen people scurry their lives away in the pursuit of knowledge. You can understand her want for a different life.
As much as it hurts you in the end most, if not all, the people of Mondstat have buried themselves in your heart. And like you have done countless times before you’ll have to move on from them once you’re dead, no matter how much it hurts. Your mind ponders to Adeptus Xiao of Liyue. He’s under a similar curse to you. The curse of being alone while being surrounded by people. You wonder if that’s why Xiao has distanced himself from mortals.
And as much as you feel like you should take a page out of his book, you find yourself falling in love with Mondstat’s citizens over and over again.

Chapter 13: Fidelity

Tumblr media
In sun and clouds, the church spire reached into that every stretching blue. It was as if it spoke of the love of the community towards their god, that it too lasted in any weather and called on them to join and put their faith in him.
When Aether and Paimon walked along the nave, the church choir was different compared to the other choirs that didn’t sing hymns. Their voice was almost like angels, high notes soaring over the clouds, graceful notes dancing on the staves, and they sang for the Anemo Archon only.
The two waited to finish their practice before looking for a certain deaconess that might help them gather more information they needed. It wasn’t long before Barbara noticed them and approached the two with a welcoming smile.
“Hello, Honorary Knight. What brings you here today?”
Paimon flew over her and leaned closer for a much better closeness to ask.
“We would like to ask you something about Barbatos!” She exclaimed fervently whilst she placed her small arms in front of her chest. A bright smile was then donned on the deaconess’s face, her blue eyes sparkling in delight at her words.
“Oh! Are you two perhaps interested in serving Mondstadt’s very own Anemo archon as well?” Her tone had an obvious enthusiasm in it. Aether already felt bad that’s not what they were here for, and be that as it may, he still has to prioritize in searching for his lost sibling.
“That’s not the case. We wanted to ask if by any chance the Anemo archon has a lover.”
Barbara’s small pink lips parted trying to utter a single word however a short chuckle was what came from her mouth. It surprised them and was confused if they said something odd. Her delicate hands were now placed on her mouth to stifle her laughs, apologizing in between them, as small tears form from the corner of her eyes.
“Sorry for suddenly laughing. I wasn’t expecting that’ll be your question. But to answer that, there are no stories or mentions if Barbatos had a lover or not in the past. If he did, it would’ve already been written in the books and be sung by the bards everywhere. You celebrated the Windblume Festival, right?"
The two gestured their heads as a yes. "Since you already know it's a festival about love and freedom, wouldn't the Windblume Festival be celebrated for both of them instead of Barbatos only? But just as I have said before, there were no tales about the God of Freedom having a lover.”
Something clicked inside his head though it didn’t last for long as it suddenly fades away like a speckle of dust.
“That’s true…” He turned to look at Paimon who was all troubled and disturbed.
He continued to listen further if there’ll be more clues but it seems like that’s the only information he’ll get for now. His companion looked at him then held her aching head to alleviate the small ringing echoing in her ears.
“Paimon’s running out of brain juice and my head is hurting the more Paimon thinks about this…” The throbbing in her head told her it was time to rest someplace quiet, to ride out the pile of confusion within her brain.
Aether nodded and massaged his forehead in hopes to ease the pain. Why does he suddenly feel so lightheaded? He shook his head and pushed himself forward to carry out his plan on giving the pendant back to you. Words of gratitude were what Barbara received from the blonde and she waved them a goodbye to continue her choir practice with the other members of the Favonius Church.
“Are we going back to the lair?” Paimon asked. Aether hummed in affirmation as they stepped outside of the parish. The harsh sunlight caused him to squint his eyes and cover his face with his arm. Was it always this hot for this season? The sudden change of the climate made him so lightheaded than ever.
Paimon detected how pale he looks as if he’d been painted with white-wash— even his lips were barely there. It was as if his heart had suddenly stopped beating and all the blood had run down into his boots. He swayed just for a moment, then with one step backward, he crumpled like a puppet suddenly released of their strings.
Birds trill, sweetly high, the chorus as playful as the birds themselves. With closed eyes, Venti imagined their music to color, painting stairs in the same way grapevines grow - this way and that, in a beautiful harmony that isn't quite random.
Along with your soft humming, it made the ambiance much more relaxing and calm for him. In the calm of the day, his heartbeat is the steady drum to your melody and he seeps into the moment, allowing himself to drown in your beautiful voice.
You rubbed the petals of the red flower between your fingers, watching your skin take on the sunny hue. Venti had spent the entire afternoon lying down on your lap and listening to your canorous tunes that made him forget about everything— as if you two were the only ones in this world with no one to intervene in such a peaceful moment he has with you.
You watched the petal rotate and awed in admiration as a flower’s petal is able to spin like wind wheels.
“Hey, Venti,” You called out to him and peered down to peek at his sleeping face. Your lover hummed in drowsiness before opening one of his eyes to look at you. Dragging the flower close to him, he shifted to get a proper look at what you’re holding.
           “What flower is this?”
You’ve always been a curious one. Even before you were in a coma. It’s like you have a passion in you to know every single thing about this world. From small creatures to rare species of beings in the wildlife, anything that catches your interest and you're eager to know more about it.
Your drive to find answers is one of your unique traits he’s grown to love the more he’s with you. You create yourself in that fire of ongoing need that focuses everything that you are. And you do it because it feels as if the finding of the answer is your personal mission, your reason for being, your way of belonging and giving.
It came to him if your curiosity will cross the line. Will it come to you that he’s been hiding his identity from you? Or will you still continue to live life with him in pure denseness? Either way, if you managed to find out he’ll find a way to have you forget what you witness.
For now, he has to be cautious and prevent you from exploring the outside world. Especially if that traveler is around in his land. It’s no good if you meet him. With the help of the humming winds to let him know what’s happening, it occurred to him that he has to just patiently wait and prevent you and Aether from crossing paths.
Venti held your soft hands in his palms and took the flower from you. A small and gentle smile appeared on his face as he leaned forward and pressed his temple against yours, placing the plant close to your chest.
“It’s Windwheel Asters.” He answered and observed how your eyes sparkled in joy when you watched the petals continue to spin.
           “I haven’t seen these before.”
Venti lightly chuckled and placed the flower between your hands as he returned to resting himself against you, but this time his head was now on your shoulder. “Windwheel Asters cannot grow in places with no wind nor plagued by strong storms, only where the wind is gentle and nourishing.”
“Really?” You laid your head against his and fiddled with the stem. If these floras are really unable to grow in harsh winds, then it means Old Mondstadt’s storms have truly vanished without any traces left.
           Peace and harmony at last.
           Freedom is finally with you.
You lifted your hand up against the sunlight and marvel at how simple it is. It may not look as fancy as the cecilias nor does it resemble feathered wings of a dandelion when blown away, but you found yourself liking this more than what Venti had given you.
It’s not like you don’t appreciate his efforts for collecting every cecilias and dandelions in this region to create a wonderful garden for your eyes to fancy with, you still are grateful for it though you do wonder why did he not include these asters in the collection?
“I kind of like this. It reminds me of you.”
Now that made him fully awake.
           “Me?”
The color-infused cheeks dimpled with the blossoming smile, your eyes shone in a way that only deep happiness can bring. It was the blush of roses, that peek of champagne pink. Nodding your head to him, you brought the flower close to your face to cover your flushing features.
“You were always fighting for freedom. If it weren’t for you, we won’t be able to see the skies and birds you’ve always wished for. I really admire your perseverance and passion to fight against my father to have the city liberated from his hands. Thank you. Thank you for revolting against him. Thank you for giving everyone freedom they’ve longed for.”
You suddenly felt your throat tightened and your breath hitching every now and then. With your shoulders shaking and chin trembling, you fear he might see you in such a vulnerable state. You lowered your head even more and let your hair cover your face. Even if you hide it from him, Venti can still see small drops of liquid falling from you until it turns into a small puddle on the back of your hand.
           “[Name]…?”
“Even though I’m Decarabian’s daughter, you never looked or treated me differently. Even after the war has ended, you never leave me. And now father, mother, and the knight… they’re all gone and y-you survived. You still stayed with me until I woke up…  I… I was so scared that once I awoke, I won’t be able to see you.”
You were wiping your cheeks every few seconds and gulping down the lump sitting on your throat. Sniffling quietly, the tears still threatened to spill from your eyes. Your lover gently clutched your hand and used his other hand to lift your chin up to look at him.
Your eyes were red and swollen. It shatters his heart seeing you like this as your tears split over and flowed down your face like a river escaping a dam. Using his finger to dry your damp face, he brushed his lips on your temple and laced your fingers together.
“I should be the one thanking you.” He muttered and brought your intertwined fingers up to his lips to kiss the back of your hand. “Without your support, I don’t know how things would end up. If he— if I hadn’t saved you back then, you’d be locked up in that tower. Things would go differently, wouldn’t they? I can’t bring myself the idea of leaving you there when they were chasing after you.”
He pushed you until your back was leaning against the rough trunk of the tree. His other arm was propped beside your face before he rested his head on your shoulder and nuzzled closely.
“Thank you. Thank you for always being here with me.” Even though his voice was muffled, you can hear him loud and clear through your teary state. A shaky smile came from you as you caressed his hair lovingly before leaning forward and wrapping your arms around him.
“I love you. I love you so much, Venti.”
He has lived long enough to know that what you share he can’t replicate it with another. This love, this feeling, is just you and him. He could travel the world and the seven regions to create new ballads; he’d still come right back at you if he wanted true love.
He has protected you for years, he’s your confidant, a true friend, and even a lover. The trust he gave you, you gave him, is what keeps both of you safe in this world, in this life. So whether his heart beats another day or another hundred years— it’s always yours.
Meeting Venti was more of a coincidence than a fate. Yet it was the first time in your life you felt like you could be yourself around him. Memories of meeting him have become the same as the dream you play time and time again. You felt good with him in a way you haven’t been before or since.
Hearing those three eternal words from you is surreal for him. His heart would beat madly and his stomach churn in such a way excitement and happiness is filling his entire system. He wants to hear from you again.
Just once more so he can finally have you all to himself.
His chest was burning hot and so was his heart that rapidly beats in great euphoria. He can sense your emotions when you cry but this feeling… it’s much more different than he had felt before. A burning desire. He’s so smitten of your entire existence. All words coming from you were all his, he grasps each phrase and corresponds with his own loving and affectionate words.
He was brought out from his trance when he felt how warm his palm is, and it’s when he became aware his hand was now placed on your cheek just like how he brings your hand to cup his face.
Venti felt his face heat up at such a simple gesture and when you give a short and quick chaste kiss on his lips, he recognized the first brightest and sweet smile for this day was painted on your graceful visage.
           “I love you.”
His wish was heard when you repeated your confession at him. Is it finally working? Were his efforts finally paid off? Before Ludi Harpastum was the Windblume, a festival where they offer windblumes to their loved ones and to the Anemo Archon. Every year, every time Mondstadt celebrates Windblume, his first priority is to give you cecilias.
He collected them for you every year. He tends them very well until they bloom— until your eyes opened. For him, windblumes are the cecilias. A symbol of elegance, purity, and just as ethereal as your gentle heart. It may be different from what that really means as interpreted by the people of Mond, but for Venti, he feels freedom when he’s with you, he feels loved when he’s with you and it’s the reason why he gathered so many flowers for you while you were asleep.
The arrangement given to him by the former Dendro Archon— she proposed the idea to him to gather flowers for you every time they feast Windblume. He can still clearly remember her words, her voice echoing in his head saying that even she may part from this world.
Her predictions for her own life were accurate. As if she already expected this to happen to her and that’s why she’s planning ahead to list all the preconditions to him to keep you safe and harmless. Barbatos can’t keep relying on her on everything and that is why he put a lot of effort into maintaining the garden.
Yesterday night was the time of the ceremony. Venti prepped everything to make it perfect, he wanted it to be successful. A mimic of a dance he once saw when he and you were together ages ago, it was a secret you both hid but he knows this. Barbatos knows what happened during that time and pretended as if he weren't there.
But now that he was able to dance it with you, one would call him shameless for stealing you from him. The heavy weight on his shoulder was now lifted away, finally free from the guilt he’s been feeling for centuries. His inner battle with himself is fully resolved, inner conflicts vanished, a conflict between his love and longing for you.
Your words eased Venti and made him assured you love him back as well. If you haven’t said a single word about your own feelings, he’d be living in an illusory fantasy that you were only shy to tell him you love him very much. But ever since the bond has been created, all he hears is I love you’s from you for his ears to delight in.
           “I love you,”
You repeated once, a faint brush of your lips against his made him shudder. Soft, gentle, and shy just like your personality. Twice when you parted away, grasping how he tastes like apples before meekly leaning on him once more for a kiss but with more vigor. Your hand clutched the front of his shirt when you felt him hold you the small of your waist to pull you against him.
           “I love you.”
Thrice was words of tenderness and desire from you to him. At that moment, you felt your body flushed warm. This was a person you wanted to be with than you’d ever felt before.
Venti has always been the one you could love forever.

✧ Diluc Ragnvindr | Ben&Ben - Araw-Araw
Umaga na sa ating duyan 'Wag nang mawawala Umaga na sa ating duyan Magmamahal, o mahiwaga
• It’s apparent that Diluc can sing since he won first place in the music minigame. He was taught at a young age on playing and dabbling in the arts like any other young noble should. It comes as no surprise that Diluc knows how to sing and play.
• It was you who had to tell Diluc this tradition when the Windblume Festival hits. When hearing the prospect of reciting poetry to your loved ones, you immediately got excited, which made Diluc question your sudden excitement.
• “Back where I’m from, there’s a tradition where a person will sing to their crush if they want to court them. It’s usually underneath a window sill but either way, I do want to experience it at least once!”
• He imprints the sight of your soft smile at the memory of the tradition. He thinks back on his time learning music as he cleans a beer glass. He’s not a bad singer by any means (ngl i thought diluc was voiced by jonah scott bc hoo boy he sings. but imagine my surprise when he was voiced by mishima skks). He can definitely carry a tune but would he risk his entire dignity by singing under your window sill with a song that he barely knows?
• If Kaeya wasn’t there, then maybe. Maybe.
• So he opts for the next best option; serenading in a private and romantic place. It wouldn’t be the Dawn Winery, there is too much traffic to try and attempt to sing. Windrise is an option but Diluc knows that the sisters of the church comes and cleans the statue (and Barbatos knows that he doesn’t want Barbara to faint from his voice). His next bet is Starsnatch Cliff, where numerous Cecilia flowers are littered across the cliff.
• With that plan, he now attempts to memorize a song from your country. Diluc’s a fast learner, so he has no trouble learning the notes, the lyrics (though his pronunciation leaves little to be desired), and finally, the emotion carried through the music. Now that’s where he struggled since he doesn’t know how to convey emotion compared to other musicians. He tries his best, even asking Venti for help (enrolled is what Venti would use but at least he was paid with the best alcohol).
• Now to actually play the damn thing. He already struggled when inviting you out to Starnsatch Cliff (and bribing the couple that was there away), he hopes that his fingers wouldn’t twitch from nerves. It was when he began strumming his guitar that he realized something: there was no point in proving that he can sing. There was no point in learning a different language when there were many other different things he could’ve done to impress you. There was no need to potentially embarrass himself.
• But it was worth it when he sees your wide-eyes, your parted lips, and the warmth on your cheeks when he leans in closer. It’s worth it to see your eyes shine just like the stars in the sky when you understood the lyrics. It was worth it to see you say the words that Diluc longed to hear from your lips as he sealed them with a kiss.
Dawn has come within our cradle I pray you never fade Dawn has come within our cradle I love you, my ethereal
✧ Albedo | Ben&Ben - Ride Home
Took a morning ride, found a place up in my mind, no one else can see Maybe it's fate that we lose control In circles around, we go We become who we ought to know We just gotta let it go We just gotta let it go
• I think it’s safe to say that everyone knows Albedo can sing when his VA posted him singing. He can carry a tune and play decently on the strings. It’s just that he closes himself off in his research in Dragonspine all the while the Windblume Festival is in full swing. It’s not like you to leave someone behind while everyone is celebrating so you stand by Albedo for the duration of the festival.
• He says that you didn’t have to keep him company, more so if you don’t know anything about alchemy, but you were adamant to not leave the alchemist alone. Albedo can’t help the warmth fluttering in his heart that you wanted to stay with him. He wanted to try and teach you basic alchemical stuff so you wouldn’t feel bored or left out but he feared the shakiness in his voice would hinder him.
• So, you two talk about each other instead. While Albedo didn’t have anything noteworthy to talk about, you said to him about how you wished you can partake in the music game in hopes to play a love song. You told him that you wanted to try and sing a love song to your crush since it was a tradition in your country. While he bristled at the fact that you have a crush, the way your eyes flitted towards him, with a wavy smile on your face solidified his feelings for you.
• Having that information in mind, he quickly makes a harp out of the materials he has on hand. Such a feat is nothing to Albedo but it wasn’t the music that he was afraid of, it was giving his feelings away to you so suddenly. Learning a new language wasn’t so hard (because he learned it when he immediately realized he had feelings for you, what’s stopping him from learning everything?), but he fears that you may take it the wrong way.
• Or rather, he fears that he may do something he regret towards you.
• But he perseveres. When you were up sitting on a rock formation, studying a rare flower, Albedo stood below you, harp in hand. The sight of him, his beautiful eyes that were used to be so sure are now nervously flitting from side to side. His voice was carried out to the wind, deep and soothing just like the winds that caressed your skin. Albedo is nothing short of nervous but he was sure that he had his point across when he sees your blushing smile.
• All fears vanished when you jumped down a giggling mess, saying that this was the best Windblume Festival ever when you leaned in and kissed him.
So I'm coming home to you, ooh You, ooh You're all I need, the very air I breathe You are home, home
✧ Kaeya Alberich | Ben&Ben - Pagtingin
‘Pag nilahad ang damdamin Sana ‘di magbago ang pagtingin Aminin ang mga lihim Sana ‘di magbago ang pagtingin
• Kaeya won’t deny that he’s just as musically inclined as Diluc. As siblings, they’re naturally competitive against one another, always competing to see who can play the better piece. He wishes he could go back to those days, but bygones are bygones. Now, he strums his harp just for fun. Still, he’s not one to serenade to random strangers so it’s a first time for him to be laying his heart out in the open.
• Kaeya, like a responsible captain, steals you away and joins in the festivities with you with an arm around your waist. Reluctantly, you humored him, as you recount previous stories that you’ve experienced. One particular story that he keeps in memory was when you were serenaded once in your own bedroom window. While you had to turn down the one courting for personal reasons, you can’t help but feel warm whenever you remember the memory. Ever since hearing the bards’ sing their songs for the festival, you can’t help the flutter in your heart.
• Now, Kaeya is a very adaptable man, so he quickly thinks the best way on how to confess to you. Sometimes he has to curse himself from being so successful at flirting at absolutely everyone that he knows you could pass it off as being Kaeya. So he figures out the next best thing.
• Now, unlike Diluc, he’s willing to throw away his dignity for you. He’s willing to throw anything away from you because you were already so etched deeply in Kaeya’s heart.
• He’s a fast learned like Albedo, so it wasn’t hard to learn your language and do the correct pronunciation. All that’s left is to sing it and where. He hopes he could sing it underneath your balcony but you lived near the Cat’s Tail Tavern, where the noise has been raucous in this time of year.
• So he decided on going to the safety of your home, “drunkenly” stating that he was too sloshed to go back to his duties so he wishes to stop by your home until he sobers up. It wasn't an uncommon sight to see, so you relented Kaeya in resting on your couch as you prepared some water for him to sober up. At that moment, he prepares his act.
• With his guitar in hand, he stands up and meets you in the kitchen. With his fingers elegantly strumming against the strings, his silky voice permeated across the house. His one eye watched your own widen at the sight of the man singing. He relished it even more when he sees the recognition in your eyes when you know the song that he's singing. Each lyric has been beautifully sung and amazingly enunciated that you wondered if Kaeya was a native to your homeland.
• Kaeya wasn't normally a sap like this. He doesn't just do this to anyone. He even wonders what's the point of this when he doesn't even know that you'll accept him for who he truly is-for what he will do when things go awry. He recounts the words of a bygone father and he feels every ounce of sin he’s committed claw his back.
• But your gentle touch sends them away. Your hands burn the sins to ashes as you told him your ‘I love you’ in your language. And he understood it perfectly.
If I reveal just how I feel I hope you won't change how you look at me Admit all secrets I keep I hope you won't change how you look at me
✧ Xiao | Ben&Ben - Kathang Isip
Pasensya ka na Sa mga kathang isip kong ito Wari'y dala lang ng pagmamahal sa iyo Ako'y gigising na Sa panaginip kong ito At sa wakas ay kusang lalayo sa iyo (lalayo sa)
• Could Xiao even sing? Guizhong may have instilled some Liyue music in his veins when he was still a baby adeptus, she may have pulled her hair out once or twice when Xiao keeps breaking the guzhengs. At least Xiao has a decent voice, so Guizhong wouldn’t strangle Xiao with a forced sweet smile on her face. After the archon war and the yakshas fall, Xiao never sang or picked up another instrument ever again.
• Not when he passed Mondstat, hearing the insufferable bard play his tune, hearing the people who’re safe from karmic binds profess their love for one another, it made him sick. But by Guizhong’s hair would he waste this opportunity to leave you alone in the Windblume Festival. Even if he has to drag you away from the crowd in fear of him lashing out. He is not apologetic to him dragging you away but he does wonder why you would rather choose to spend your time with him rather than enjoy the festivities.
• It was at the city walls, you and Xiao enjoying the almond tofu you prepared beforehand. You did most of the talking, talking about random things that you can get. Xiao would always dutifully listen because he-honestly-you’re the only mortal that wormed his way into his heart and now he wants more but afraid of the consequences. He listens to you rambling about a courting method where one person serenades the other while they were in a higher place, just like the city walls.
• Human courting rituals have been the most confusing thing to Xiao; why go through such great lengths just to confess to someone your feelings? Shouldn’t straight up saying it be better and save time for each party? Even when he says this, he can’t help but watch your eyes glimmer at the thought of someone serenading you, in a night just like this.
• He was willing to embarrass himself for you, as he planted his feet on the wall railings. “Wait here.”
• He jumps and before you could say anything, he uses his Anemo Vision to keep him afloat. On his position, he was below you by a few feet. You watched in confusion when he summoned a lyre (and you could make out a scowl on his face, as if he was cursing the instrument) and soon, he began strumming it.
• His harp skills... could do some work. Some tone-deaf bard might have bawled his eyes out if he hears him play, but he was willing to swallow that embarrassment when he gets to have his point across. He hopes that he does, laying his heart like this just for you to take apart, for you to heal, for you to do whatever you want with it. He was willing to be weak and revere to you as someone as grand as an archon.
• Xiao wasn’t expecting you to understand but when he sees tears in your eyes and your hand covering your mouth, he immediately stopped his singing and hurried to your side. Though, he didn’t have to. You already jumped down and got caught in his arms. He felt your tears soak his skin, your incoherent babbles muffled by his shoulder but he could make out that Xiao’s feelings aren’t one-sided.
I'm sorry For this imagination of mine I guess it's just because of my love for you I will wake up now From this dream of mine And in the end I will stay away from you (stay away from)

thin ice | childe x reader | four.
four. two calls and a text
masterlist!
a call from coach jean leaves your fate of skating up in the air. a text from your boys remind you of your current responsibilities with hockey. a call from a familiar but different blonde leaves you wondering if you’re up for any of this at all.
tags; none that i can think of?
a/n: what a wild week! first of all, thank you for 300 followers, it really does mean the world to me that you guys enjoy my silly little writing blog that is more spam than actual writing. i hope this suffices as a gift! as always, if you have anything to say at all, whether it be discussing my series or just saying hi, you are more than welcome to.
Tumblr media
“oh, hey, coach,” you replied, flipping off childe before heading to your dorm. the night breeze was calming and the moon was stitched into the sky. the campus’ frat houses were alight, the library was still flooded with students from the seven nations.
“hey, kid. how are you holding up?” she asked as you opened the door to your dormitory hall, barbatos hall. you waved at your dorm director as you passed by her.
“fine, i guess. i’m working under coach zhongli as a hockey manager,” you hummed, opening your door to your room. toeing off your shoes, you sat on your desk chair, spinning around.
“zhongli, huh? he was an incredible player when i was skating professionally, nice to hear that’s he all settled down. barbara used to talk about his prowess all the time.”
“yeah, he’s a good guy. teyvat’s arena is good under his and coach ningguang’s guidance. good skating programs, too.”
“the university has always bred the best of the best,” coach jean laughed, before sighing softly. “speaking of the best of the best, how’s skating going for you? i heard that you were teaching lessons to the little kids the way i do now.”
“it’s going well. my knee is much better than a couple months ago. of course, no jumping just yet.”
“no jumping,” she echoed, like she said when she went with you to your physical therapist for the first time. “good. i wouldn’t want you out of commission. speaking of which, i had a question for you, if you don’t mind.”
your eyebrows raised as you stopped spinning in your chair. could she be asking for you back on the national team? or to jump, or to watch you, or-- “shoot for it, coach,” you eventually settled on, voice hitching in your throat. please be some good news.
“in february, i’d like to discuss your career with you. i’ll be in the capital for the national circuit team’s championships against the other regions. i would visit sooner, but you know how it is in mondstadt.”
you tilted your head, a little curious at her statement. february? that was almost six months out. it was better than bad news, though.  “that sounds good with me. maybe we can skate together and i can do a double salchow for you.”
“you always did like doing salchows,” she laughed briefly, before sighing. “alright. plan for february 12th, then. i’ll see you soon.”
“thanks, coach. see you then,” you bid your goodbyes, before getting up from your chair. you flopped on your bed, letting the moonlight paint your skin. sighing, you squirmed on your bed. a meet up with coach jean would be a make or break moment of your skating career, and you didn’t know whether or not you wanted to even go at all.
you looked to an overcast moon, thinking of your newfound team, your old coach, and the ever-thinning ice.
Tumblr media
mondays were no different from when you were a simple skate guard at the arena, now that you were a hockey manager. you woke up, ate breakfast, and went to your sports medicine classes.
walking to the lecture hall, you stared as the orange leaves wisped around in the wind. the warm summer winds had faded in favor of a cold snap of fall. banners from each dorm hall waved bright flags with its emblem. as you headed to your class for the day, your phone buzzed suddenly.
an unknown number appeared on the screen. “you’re heading to the health and sciences hall? nerdddddd.”
“childe, quit being crass. it’s not like you’re actually going to class.”
“hey--i go to my advanced entrepreneurship class at noon!”
sliding open the text, you responded. “i’m assuming this is the team, right?”
“you got that right. this is xingqiu, by the way,” the first bubble responded. he went on to label each of the numbers with a name.
“how did you even know this is my number?” you asked as you opened the door to your lecture hall.
“coach gave it to us. said it would be convenient,” replied xiao.
of course coach zhongli would give them my number, you rolled your eyes, but your didn’t hold a grudge against him. “also, hey! how did you even know that i was going to my advanced sports medicine class?!”
“i saw you on the other side of the walkway. you tripped down the stairs to barbatos’ hall, ehe!” childe texted back.
“mean!” you replied, before tucking your phone into your jacket. rolling your eyes, you sat down at your spot in the lecture hall. taking out your textbooks, you prepared yourself for the first lesson of the day. you sighed, not expecting them to be so forward with something like this. it was almost like you were forced to be close.the week continued until it was time for the first practice
Tumblr media
. as you headed from your physiology class, you made a beeline towards the archon arena. like previous days, the sky was silver with rolling clouds. wincing, you assumed that a storm was brewing.
“afternoon, y/n,” katheryne, the receptionist called as you passed her by.
“hey, katheryne,” you replied to her, waving as you slipped into the backrooms of the rink. the hall was silent; no squeaks from the gym, no yelling coming from the locker rooms. coach zhongli dipped out of his office, tying his hair up.
“early, are we, y/n?” he said with a knowing look, smiling at you gently. “you know, the boys don’t usually show up for a half-hour or so. why not get a head start on their equipment, like the sticks and pucks? i have a meeting with ningguang to attend to.”
“of course,” you responded, mock-saluting. as you headed in opposite directions, you closed your eyes. enjoying a slight break before all hell broke loose sounded very enjoyable.
first, you filled up the empty bottles of water left haphazardly in the fridge. as you opened the fridge, there was a selection of diluc’s strange concoctions that kaeya despised, making you wince. when you finished that up, you placed them in the player’s lounge.
“oh, hey, y/n!” xingqiu said, shouldering his backpack on. chongyun walked close beside him, a hand in his pocket and popsicle in his mouth. “chongyun and i are usually the first people here. nice to see someone being here for once. we’ll be in the gym in a couple of minutes if you need anything.”
after, you headed out the hallway to the storage room. flicking on the dingy lights, you looked at the steel rows of shelves. there were neatly folded jerseys, baskets of pucks, and unused sticks. you picked up the basket of pucks, holding it at your hip. when you headed out, you saw three familiar faces.
“hey, manager!” kaeya cheered excitedly. “sorry that we’re late. we went on a lunch run for some salads.”
“hmph, don’t forget the milkshakes that we went for again,” diluc said, rolling his eyes. xiao shook his head, only briefly nodding to acknowledge you.
you headed for the rink, pushing open the double doors. the weather outside was worse than when you first walked in, rolling clouds an angry gray. the lights of the arena were not on, making it impossible to see your reflection on the ice. as you headed for the entrance of the rink, you stopped, when you saw a flash of red pass you by, blinding in the stale colors of the arena.
you dropped the bucket in surprise, pucks spilling out on the ice haphazardly. “ah! sorry, sorry,” you apologized, only to turn your mouth into a scowl. as you carefully tread the ice in your sneakers, you picked up the pucks. “it’s you. i didn’t see you come in.”
“so cold today, huh, manager?” childe responded, lazily doing figure eights and not bothering to help you place the pucks in the basket. “that’s okay to me, to be quiet. it’s better for my practice.”
“hmph,” you grunted, before turning your back on him. he was not worth your time.
you finished preparations for practice, running back and forth between the backrooms and pulling out supplies from the equipment room to the rink. as you began taking the water to the gym, the five-time cup winner appeared. “welcome back, coach,” you greeted briefly as you entered the training room. “how did your meeting go?”
“it went well. coach ningguang even brought up you,” he hummed, looking out at his team. xiao was reflecting small hand balls back and forth to xingqiu and chongyun, the latter of which got hit in the face.
“really? what’d she say?”
“she said that she’s impressed by your drive, and wishes that you’d try out for the university’s team to get back into the swing of things.”
“hmph, not happening anytime soon. not when coach jean’s got an offer for me.”
“oh? coach jean’s inviting you back on the team? that’s good news. i know how much you’ve been waiting for that.”
“not just yet. but we’re meeting up in february to discuss my career. that has to mean something.”
“better that news than bad news, then,” he nodded, placing a hand on his chin. “surely, you will convince her. all you need is a little time to get a routine in place.”
“hah, thanks, coach,” you smiled as he took headcount of the boys.
“where’s childe?” he asked, to which you frowned.
“out skating. i’m assuming that he didn’t stretch, either.”
he shook his head, sighing. “that boy is going to to overwork himself into the grave.” nodding to the team, he hollered at the team. “boys, roll out! i want you all ready in ten minutes.”
“yes, coach!” they called, stopping their work in favor of wiping off the sweat from their brows.
“here,” you said, wriggling out each of the water bottles from its holder. tossing each of the water bottles out, all of the boys caught them with ease.
“not bad at all for your first day,” xiao nodded before heading out the door, everyone else in tow, saying their thank you’s along the way.
your chest swelled with pride; maybe you were doing something right, after all. picking up the left over balls from xingqiu and xiao’s throwing, you smiled to yourself. it was surely a start.
Tumblr media
like coach zhongli had said, the boys were on the ice in a matter of minutes. the arena was frosty and bright from the lights. the water bottles were filled again, and your boss addressed his team. there were two bright orange cones on the ice placed in the rink. “let’s try the eight drill. childe, please demonstrate for our freshmen.”
“you got it!” he responded, smiling. his red sweatshirt was traded in favor of a jersey and safety pads, but his helmet was not on. childe’s bright orange hair was sticking out in various directions as he slapped his hockey stick onto the ice. quickly, he slid his left skate on the ice once, then his right, and then he was gone.
he skated to forward and to the right first, going around the orange cone closest to him. curiously, you watched as he leaned forward, casually letting his stick touch the top of the cone. he took to the left next, doing the same to the last cone. he repeated the process as headed back.
“good, good!” his coach hollered, before motioning to chongyun and xingqiu. “now, you will also try this. go on.”
xingqiu headed forward first, hitting his stick on the ice. he mimicked childe’s actions, though his hitting of the cone let the cone tilt forward. as he headed back, chongyun did the same.
“excellent for a first try,” he responded, crossing his arms with a smile. “now, all of you, line up. do the drill, three times over.”
like bees in a hive, they made quick work, making light conversations along the way. “they’re a well-oiled machine, coach,” you said, crossing your arms and leaning across the dasher board.
“thank you. i’m running through the drills my own coach did when i was in the league. it starts easy, but they’ll start to hate it soon enough.”
“hah,” you let out a laugh. “yeah, coach jean was the same way. it’s brutal, but it gets the job done.”
as coach zhongli blew his whistle, you only imagined the days when you were running drills with your figure skating coach. an hour long stretch by the dasherboard, followed by almost four hours of being on the ice. coach would circle you as you twirled up in the air, her critiques and her compliments coming out in a flurry.
“y/n,” your new coach said suddenly, snapping you out of your daze. “there’s a collection of drills in my office. would you mind getting them for me?”
“not a problem, coach,” you said as you would to jean, when she would critique you.
Tumblr media
“good practice, boys. especially our freshmen; i was quite surprised to see how well you handled the new warm up routine,” you heard coach say as you lugged back the giant goalie nets to their storage space. “make sure to continue helping your manager y/n out, you hear? they’re new, but they are going to become the backbone of your team. we have a game in two weeks, and we must prepare them as well.”
a chorus of “yes, sir!”’s echoed down the hall as you turned off the arena’s lights. the sky was darker than ever, with wind whipping at the trees. when finished tying up your laces, you curiously stepped onto the ice, reminiscing on a period long ago.
the lightning provided a spotlight for you, and with a single strike, you were off. quickly, you lazily did laps around the rink, trying to get hold of a feeling of figure skating that you had once revered. looking at your feet, you determined your options. a salchow or two would be nice, or a basic bunny hop if you didn’t want jean to be mad at you.
eventually, you moved your left foot forward first, scissoring it with your right. you landed on your right toe pick with ease. it was almost like you were a kid again, doing the bunny hop, far from the glares of the public.
quickly, you revved up once more, skating around the ice twice. you experimented, going backwards, then forward, and the back again. the wind accompanied you with a song of blowing leaves and pattering rain on the wide windows of archon arena. the ice, though not yet glided over by the zambonis, made you feel like a fish to water.
suddenly, without much conscious thought, you found yourself  going backwards, building such a strong momentum that you couldn’t even pull yourself forward. left food bracing you, you stopped, prepared to vault yourself in the air. pulling your arms near your chest for balance, you stared at the windows.
and you flew, letting the glare of lightning blind you as you twirled over the ice.
when you finished your descent, you ignored the slight twinge that your knee made, and let your arms float out like that of a butterfly. three strikes of thunder clapped to applaud you. breathing in the crisp air deeply, you sighed. that was more than enough adventure for today on the ice.
if she were here, she would’ve killed you over your knee.
Tumblr media
“heading out for the day, y/n?” zhongli said from his office as you shouldered your bag and fished out your phone.
“yeah, coach. thanks for letting me use the arena for a while, i appreciate it,” you replied, waving at him.
“of course. don’t forget, our first real game is in two weeks,” he reminded as you went past his office. “and watch that knee.”
“hah! you sound like coach jean,” you laughed in response, pushing open the doors to the arena’s lobby.
sighing, you looked down at your knee as coach had said. you didn’t want to be set back any farther than you already were by it, especially with coach jean’s expectant meet up on the horizon.
suddenly, your phone buzzed. you picked up, assuming it to be your friend or one of the team members. “this is y/n speaking. how may i help you?”
“ah, so you’re the famed y/n!” a cheerful voice responded. “my sister, your coach jean, relayed your phone number to me.”
“b-barbara?” you asked with a tilt of your head.
“yes, that’s me!” she giggled. “i heard you became the manager for the teyvat university hockey team. i was wondering if you wanted any advice, coming from someone who used to be in your role.”
blinking, you thought about your team and the awkward interactions between you and them, and especially childe. “set a date, and i’ll be there.”

THE WAY I LOVED YOU
Tumblr media
Word count: 4,2K
Wanings: angst (but fluff, too)
Summary: You weren't over the love Childe provided you, even when you were engaged to Albedo years later.
A blue, pink and mauve sky garnished the surroundings of the Stormbearer Mountains. The summery breeze, warm as the light of the bright sun, comforted those who walked along the path of fallen leaves, wild flowers and the smell of mint. A beautiful landscape presented itself for sore eyes to see.
A certain Alchemist was working on his new masterpiece, relaxing under the few rays of light that came with dusk, painting the one he considered the most beautiful person to ever put a foot on Teyvat. Mixing the colours of nature, he portraited on the sketch book the view he had of his fiancée and the scenery, all of it worthy of a cheesy romance novel and a fantasy book.
"How much time do you need?" Y/N asked in a tired tone, trying not to shift her position, "I'm getting crumps on my face from smiling."
The man didn't answer at the moment, considering for a brief time her question and filling a space on the page that still needed his attention. At last, he looked at her and smiled at the image he had the honour of witnessing. The girl, dressed in a summer white and blue dress, was slightly pouting at the lack of talking from his part. Her hair danced with the wind and he thanked Barbatos for letting him see her golden locks fly around her face.
"Just a little more, my love," he answered, his attention shifting back to the drawing in front of him.
"You said that an hour ago," the girl sighed, putting a smile again on her face so she didn't disrupt her lover from painting her, "I thought you wanted to go see Sucrose before the sun came down. Oh! And also, you promised Klee you'd visit her."
He hummed, immersed in the way her features took a hardened expression when she tried to remember something that needed to be done. Brows furrowed and fore finger on her right cheek, she looked at him in search of a comment from the Alchemist.
"Albedo! Are you listening to me?"
"You're so beautiful." mumbled the man, lost in her and the blush that was forming on her visage.
Shameless and, at the same time, honest and shy. That was Albedo, the one she was engaged to. Such an honourable and good man, someone who loved her as much as the Sea loved its waves, as much as the birds loved the Wind, as much as a Dwelling loved the warmth of the fire. He gave her his everything and from the bottom of his own person, and she was grateful for it.
"I'm sorry" he promptly said, coughing on his palm to hide the evident embarrassment he felt, "It wasn't my intention to make you uncomfortable."
At that, she couldn't help but laugh. He was such a beautiful person, always searching her comfort and well-being before anyone else's, always taking care of her and looking for her. A pure soul, she would venture to affirm.
"Don't be silly, sweetheart," Y/N chuckled, positioning once again for him to portray her, "you know I love it when you compliment me. Now, c'mon, finish before the sun falls."
"As you wish."
One more hour of dirtying their hands in paint and observing the marvellous dusk that came upon them, they left to visit Sucrose, who was willing to tell Albedo about her advances in the research they both were working on.
"That's impressive, Sucrose," Albedo praised the girl, reading the documents and correcting those things he found could be improved.
Y/N turned off the conversation, not really interested in the depths of the Alchemy. She respected what the husband to be and her friend did for a life and she couldn't be prouder, but that didn't mean she wanted to hear the endless conversations about properties a flower could have.
After saying goodbye to the little Alchemist, they both headed to say hello to little Klee, who was mad at them for coming so late, it was already her time for bed and, as she said, 'We can't go bomb fishing!', followed by a 'Do you not love Klee?' Reassuring the little bomb crazy kid was more draining than she could imagine, but she did it for Albedo, nonetheless.
The afternoon turned into the late hours of the night, lilac sky was now dark and adorned with stars. The Alchemist had intertwined his fingers with Y/N's, sighing in content, allowing himself to relax at the warmth of her hand and the serenity reigning in Mondstadt.
"Maybe we should head home, you seem exhausted," commented Albedo after watching his fiancée yawn for the third time in ten minutes.
"That would be great, actually." Y/N yawned again, gaining a quiet chuckle from the man next to her.
No one talked again, everything already said until the moment to bid goodnight when they laid in bed. Albedo, being the reserved man he was, kept himself in his side of the bed, not too confident to spoon his girl still.
The silence was only accompanied by Albedo's soft snores. Darkness decorated the walls of the room in the AM. The sense of being trapped growing inside Y/N as she thought of the implications of her new life. She was engaged to an incredible man, who told her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her every single day; who went with her on strolls and made her laugh; who could teach her more than she could ever imagine; who appreciated her as she was.
Still, she felt nothing. At all.
She liked Albedo, that was clear. Who wouldn't like Albedo? He was the perfect man. On more than one occasion, Y/N had Amber and Barbara drooling about how lucky she was to be with someone like him. She knew she was the luckiest girl in Teyvat, most women simped over Diluc or Albedo. But, at the same time, she only felt guilt for being with him without actually loving him.
Anxiety growing on her, she decided to stand up. She walked out of the room, being careful not to disrupt Albedo's sleep, and headed to the transport point, she needed to be away from any form of human activity, she felt like shouting and hitting the first thing she could see. Breathing becoming a very tedious task as she approached the device, opting to go to Mt. Aocang. If she was going to wake someone up, she preferred an Adeptus who wouldn't ask more than any nosy human.
The wind, colder than that afternoon, calmed her to the point her lungs could take the oxygen she had been trying to get for minutes. The orange leaves obscured by the night reminded her of the hair she used to love so much. The hair of that man she had once despised, then loved, and then lost.
He, who claimed to be brave enough to enter her heart, had been the one to take it and keep it even until those days. Y/N noticed how her breathing became irregular again, she was used to it, every time she thought about the Harbinger. That repulsive, irresponsible, dishonest, cunning, intelligent and breath-taking man she couldn't forget. How had she let it come so far?
Albedo gave her everything, yet her heart yearned Childe's love. How pathetic.
"Fuck you, Childe!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, not caring for the Adepti, not caring for those who could hear her cursing the Harbinger Tartaglia at 2 a.m. a Thursday night. "You ruined me, you motherfucker!"
So many fights, so many make outs, so much love making, so many nights under the stars trying to comprehend their feelings for the other. All of that for nothing. Like the bitter cold of Snezhnaya they froze, their hearts on their sleeves, light that came from the satellite above turned off.
"You know, sometimes I feel like you don't like me that much." she remembered him saying, his characteristic smirk on his face, "It's true we had our... abrasions, but girlie, c'mon, don't be so stiff."
She could clearly see in her mind how his hands came to her waist, grabbing her in a gentle but at the same time rough grip. A shivered down her spine, in the present and in the pass, and she was sure she would feel it in the future, too.
"How am I supposed to trust you, Harbinger?" she had said, crossing her arms after pulling away from him.
"Easy, trusting me."
And she did. She felt like a fool for allowing him to be so near, to had felt love from him, for loving him.
"Are you feeling okay? You look pale, my love," Albedo commented, a hand of his on the forehead of his lover, a worried expression on his face.
"Yes, Albedo, don't worry, I didn't sleep too well last night," Y/N reassured him, smiling slightly at her fiancé.
The Alchemist hummed, nodding to himself and returning to his work. The girl had returned to their room after a couple of hours in Mt. Aocang, praying for Albedo to not had noticed her absence. Apparently, he didn't. Had he noticed he would had already asked about it, or so she thought.
"I was thinking about visiting Liyue today, there are some materials there I need for my research," Albedo said after some minutes, looking at her, "I was wondering if you'd like to come."
Y/N's heart dropped. She had to say yes, how could she say no to Albedo? He wanted to spend time with her while still working, an effort she really appreciated. But, going to Liyue? What if he was there? Strolling those streets the two of them had travelled a thousand times.
But his gaze was still on her, waiting patiently for a reply. Doubtfully, she considered all her options: not going and upsetting Albedo; going and crossing him; going and being unable to continue due to the memories. No option was good, she had to choose between her fiancé's well-being and hers. 'He's made so any sacrifices for me'.
"I would love to, love."
Merchants selling, people buying, contracts being signed. That was Liyue in all its glory. Red, green and blue being the most recurrent colour themes on the walls, roofs and gardens, a gift to anyone who wanted to visit a paradise.
Albedo was buying some materials while Y/N stood next to him, not looking at anyone's face in case Childe decided to make one of his classic appearances. She grabbed Albedo's sleeve as a way to comfort herself, reassuring one time and one time again that she didn't have that much of bad luck to cross him in such a huge city.
She turned her head to look around at last, brave to see the stores and Liyue's people. Many of them knew who she was, having helped most of them at least in one occasion, great people with beautiful and peaceful lives. She had that now, at Albedo's side. But why did she feel like it wasn't what she wanted?
The red mask in one of the stalls froze her in her place, it looked identical to Childe's. She knew it wasn't his, of course, he was too involved in the Fatui and too wealthy to pledge his mask, but it made her remember him and one of the many memories she had with him in Liyue, again.
"Girlie, don't be like that" Childe exclaimed, smiling at her with bravado, "You don't have to feign you don't want that bracelet."
"I don't want it," repeated her for the third time, growing irritated.
"I have enough money to buy it for you, darling," the Harbinger insisted, taking her left hand in one of his and kissing her knuckles.
"How charming," she murmured ironically, rolling her eyes and pulling her hand out of his grasp.
"I know," he smirked, going after her, "and I also know how much you love when I act like a gentleman."
"How would you know that if you've never acted like one?" she snorted, watching his expression turn into an offended one.
"I'm a gentleman, you just can't appreciate my efforts to woo you," he replied with a pout.
"Aw, little Childe can't take a no for an answer," Y/N continued to tease him, smiling slightly at his spoiled brat's act.
"Very well, little lady, you're not having that bracelet," he stamped and turn away from her, walking without a real direction.
"Not that I wanted it!" she shouted at the distance.
Needless to say, she found the bracelet in her purse that night with a cheesy note that claimed 'To my favourite and stubborn traveller, with love, Childe'.
She still had it in her wrist, accompanying her wherever she went, reminding her of the stupid man that gifted it to her. Golden with Snezhnaya patterns, orange jewelry decorating the surface of the material. Albedo never said anything about it, never asked, and she was grateful for it, he knew to respect her space.
Her fiancé had just finished purchasing what he needed, looking at her with a loving gaze. She felt nothing, only appreciation, and she felt awful for not returning his feelings at their best, he deserved to be loved and spoiled. However, she missed him, she missed what they had.
The grey sky announced the storm that was coming, thunder and lightning appearing to give a performance of nature power. She had fought, walked, ran and danced in rain. She had danced, kissed and loved. But nothing of it with Albedo.
"Now a step to the left" instructed Childe, grabbing her waist with his left hand and her hand with his right one, "and now turn around... That's it! Perfect! You're a natural."
"Stop lying," she laughed, following what he was saying and dancing with him in a forgotten valley in some old ruins, "I can't dance for the love of Barbatos."
"I think you're really good, almost seductive," he purred, kissing her jaw and going down her neck, "seeing you move your hips like that just" an animalistic growl came from the back of his throat.
"Okay, calm down big guy, we're not fucking here."
The sound of thunder interrupted his reply, confusing them both for a moment. Suddenly, rain poured and soaked them wet. Y/N looked for somewhere they could go to shelter from the storm, but Childe just laughed and started making her dance again.
"What the hell are you doing, pee-brain!" she exclaimed, desperate.
"Dancing with you under the rain. Isn't it romantic?" he asked, smug as always.
"Romantic until we catch a hypothermia."
He didn't budge. Swaying them both with the dark landscape behind them, leaves flying around, wind aggressive. But nothing mattered as they looked at each other; love, affection and lust hidden in their souls, wanting nothing more than to indulge to the other and become one. How can anyone love this much? How can feelings root that deep? Childe was the only answer to those questions.
With nothing but a soft caress to her cheek, he smashed his lips on hers, kissing her while the rain accentuated the wet sounds. Everything with him was wild, but so addictive she couldn't help but coming undone, indulging to everything he asked silently from her. A kiss in the rain never felt so good.
"I'll be right back, I just need to drop this at Mingxing Jewelry," Albedo said, giving her a peck before leaving.
She stood there for a few moments, wondering what she could do white she waited for her lover. The rain was nearing Liyue Harbor, Albedo had told her he needed to do a couple of things more before going to the transport point to return home. She felt like throwing up, not a single spot in the city did not remind her of the love of her life, including their ugliest moments as a couple.
"How could you!?" Y/N screamed, feeling completely devastated and deceived.
"I had to! I'm sorry, okay?"
"No! It's not okay!" his indifference was breaking her heart, looking at him with disappointment, "Again! You did it again!"
"I was ordered to!" he shouted, his voice the same tone as hers, wrath in his eyes, "I have a job and you knew about it when you decided to fuck me!"
"What the hell, Childe!" she cried, "First of all, you nearly destroy Liyue! Again! Not only once but twice!" she was tired, everything was going down in front of her and she didn't want to watch it come to ruins, "And fuck you? You mean love you?"
"Love, sex, everything's the same, isn't it?" he replied, calmer and returning to his indifferent tone.
"W-what do you mean?" the fuming storm stopped to bring an eye of the hurricane, waiting patiently to unleash the tsunami over them.
"What you heard; I don't find a difference between the two concepts."
"You're lying," she murmured, unbelieving. How could he say that when an hour ago he was looking at her with so much love? Was it all an act? No, you can't feign feelings so deep.
"You're just too fool to see it, girlie," his smirk appeared, making her shake in fear, fear of losing what she cared about, "confusing terms and assuming things without asking."
"You're lying." she repeated, more to herself than for him to hear. He sighed, as if he was done with her.
"Think what you want. Now, there are people waiting for me. Until next time, girlie."
The shattering of her heart served up as the soundtrack of his departure. The leaves that had been once so vibrant and full of colour now danced around her in muted tones, mocking her. That was it, the end of their love. The palace the resembled their union fell into pieces, she needed to let go of him. The words he said cut deeper than a knife, made her feel cold. But how could she let go if she still loved him?
"So now you're with the Alchemist," a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts, making her turn to the source of it.
There he was. Orange hair and piercing blue eyes. His smirk wasn't present in the portray he displayed of himself, walking as the noble man he said he was. Her heart raced for the first time in years, asking her for indulgence, for permission to feel.
"Yes," was the first thing she said after some minutes processing what was happening. Childe was there, in front of her, "yes, I'm with Albedo."
"I see," he commented, uninterested. She thought that was all the interaction they would have, that he would go away again and leave her live her life, but she had to know better, "even if you can't forget me, you allow yourself to be with someone else?"
"What is it to you?" Y/N felt offended, who did he think he was to reprimand her in such a dirty way? He couldn't know she wasn't over him, could he?
"It's unfair for both of you. You see, love shouldn't feel like you owe something to someone just because they love you." Childe said, his gaze falling at the bracelet for a couple of seconds before looking at the landscape, "You're fooling him and yourself."
"And what would you know about love?" the question came in a bitter tone. She was angry, how dare he talk about love when he did her so wrong? When he hurt her so much?
"Touché." Childe gave her a sincere smile that reached his eyes, it was breath-taking. Y/N felt her stomach twirl and her heart jump at the sight of such a beautiful scenario, "Glad to see you well, Y/N. See ya!"
And like that, he left the place as if he hadn't turned her world around again. She missed him, she admitted to herself that she missed him. She missed his wild nature, his odd conversations, the mystery wrapping around him. She couldn't forgive him, but she couldn't live without him, either. That's the way she loved him.
Once Albedo returned from his errands, they both went to the transport point to return to Mondstadt. The way back was silent, but not a comfortable one as they always had, there was some tension lingering in between them. She wanted to attribute it to the tension she had been carrying since her encounter with Childe, but deep down she knew there was something else.
When they entered their house, they both changed into their sleeping garments without sharing a word, waiting for the other to be the first one to break the silence. Y/N didn't have it in her to be the brave one in the situation at hand, so, finally, Albedo spoke.
"I know you're not over him," he said, calmly, but there was jealousy in his tone.
She was surprised to hear him say those words. She never mentioned Childe before, less being in a relationship with him. She wanted to feel fear, the same one she felt when her argument with Childe broke them apart, but she felt nothing at all. Why? Why couldn't she be in love with a man life him?
"What?"
"You know what I'm talking about, Y/N." Albedo sighed, sitting at the edge of their shared bed.
"B-but", she stuttered, searching for words, "H-how do you know...?"
"There were rumours... some years ago, about the 'traveller' being with one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. It was during your time at Liyue."
She nodded, understanding, but really not understanding anything, "Did you believe them?"
"I can't say yes, but I can't say no, either." Albedo looked at her, he didn't look angry, and that made her feel a little bit better. "I just couldn't know if it was true or not because I wasn't there."
"I see." another moment of silence followed. She took a deep breath and looked at him in the eyes, "Why do you say that I'm not over him, though?"
"There are so many signs, you aren't the subtlest person, love." he chuckled, "The bracelet has Snezhnaya patterns and you haven't taken it out in all these years. I can only assume it was a present from Tartaglia."
Y/N nodded again, impressed with how observant Albedo was and with his deduction skills. She wished for the hundredth time that day that she would have fell in love with him and not with the Harbinger.
"I'm so sorry-" she began, but was quickly interrupted by her fiancé.
"Don't." he commanded, "That's not the only thing that gave you away."
"What do you mean?"
"Your late night trips."
'He knew' she thought, searching for any clues that could tell her when he had discovered it, but there were none. 'He has known all this time.'
"Why haven't you said anything?" she asked.
"I wanted to give you space," he began, "I must admit, however, that at first I thought you were cheating on me."
"I would never-" she was interrupted again, a kind gaze on his eyes.
"I know, I know. I realized when you came home smelling like grass and mint and not with the cologne of another man."
It was silent again, Y/N tried to find anything she could say to make him feel better, but she couldn't even understand himself. Why isn't she feeling her heart shattering? She knew why, but she didn't want to indulge in that feeling.
"I'm so sorry, Albedo. I really am."
"It's okay."
"No, it's not." those words sounded identical to the ones she had directed to Childe once upon a time.
"I am aware that you don't love me the way I love you."
"Albedo-"
"But it's okay, I can love both of us enough to fill that gap."
She was at a loss of words. Had she heard it right? What did he mean? Albedo was so calm, so ethereal, looking at her fondly even when he knew she didn't feel the same. He was going to marry a woman that didn't want him the same way she wanted her. And even though he was aware of that, he was smiling.
"Why?" she wondered out loud.
"Because that's how it works, that's the way I love you, until you can return my feelings."
The leaves that danced aggressively at the other side of the window stayed still, processing the scene going on in the room of the Alchemist and the Traveller. Their colour coming back to a vibrant one, giving her hope of being able to love again, to feel something.
Her love with Childe was like the Sun and the Moon, so in love they were crazy for each other, but impossible and unworkable. But, Albedo loved her like the Sea loved its waves, like the birds loved the Wind, like a Dwelling loved the warmth of the fire, and she was going to return it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but she would. And when she did, she would love him as much as the Leaves loved their trees, as much as the Lake loved the rain that floods it, as much as the Horizon loved dusk.
She bid goodbye to Childe that night, leaving the bracelet in the drawer in her nightstand. Adorning her hand only was the ring Albedo had gifted her.
"See you, Childe," she murmured at 2 a.m. before falling in her slumber.

Genshin Impact Prompt List
Made by yostresswritinggirl
Public Domain Post again! I made this because I realized that I haven't seen a drabble list that's compliant to the game's universe, however some of these lines can also be generalized! I will NOT write for this, I just made this for everyone who wants to try it out, and it was really fun to make! List is 103 lines long, go wild!
"You knew we were going to Dragonspine, now your ass is freezing."
"The milelith won't like this."
"The Knights of Favonius won't like this."
"The Fatui would have liked this."
"Is there perhaps a discount in Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?"
"Sir/Ma'am, I'm gonna need to see your gliding license."
"The statue looks kinda hot."
"Where can I buy Fatui wear?"
"Where can I buy Abyss Mage wear?"
"It hurts I know, but have you eaten a raw Jueyen chili before?"
"Paimon is being stupid again."
"I don't think the Ruin Guard wants to be friends."
"In terms of Mora, we have Childe."
"They're turning you into a furry, it's concerning."
"Let me ask the stars— the stars said no."
"If we throw hard enough, we can probably hit Celestia."
"This is the sixth time I saw you fell off Barbatos' statue and it's getting concerning."
"You're telling me this feather will make me powerful?"
"It's been three months, when will you stop challenging the Oceanid?"
"That's pretty high, you think I'll die from that height?"
"Come on now, they're just taking a break..."
"Pick a god and start praying."
"I'd know that hair from anywhere!"
"So, about that economic crisis..."
"Hey, have you been to that 'perfume shop' before?"
"I actually don't drink tea."
"Does coffee even exist here?"
"Timmie's birds make the best Sweet Madame!"
"Olah!" [Hello in Hilichurlian]
"Hm, I wanna adopt one of those." "THOSE can kill you, by the way."
"Woah, cool weapon, can I have it?"
"Sir/Ma'am, this is strictly a no diving zone."
"I haven't seen green grass in ages..."
"Please answer honestly, is this genocide?"
"Never thought flower-picking would end up like this."
"This commission is not worth the mora it offers."
"There are no explicit laws against it, but this feels weirdly illegal."
"I don't think Katheryne wants to give me any more commissions."
"Nothing like a delicious Hilichurl camp-cooked meal!"
"So you're homeless?"
"Does being chased by guards count me in as a criminal?"
"This sign can't stop me, I don't understand Teyvat language!"
"I think I'm too stupid for this puzzle."
"How many artifacts do I have to get before I'm considered part of the Treasure Hoarders?"
"I need me a pocket Barbara."
"I know that cough from anywhere, that's definitely ____!"
"That bastard." "Yeah but which one?" "THE bastard."
"You know it actually doesn't taste that bad— *proceeds to vomit*"
"Since when was the last time you took a shower?"
"I'm pretty sure this is crossing borderline masochist territory."
"I don't like the sight of red snow."
"I don't think this is part of the prophecy."
"You ever look at something and think, how much Mora would that cost?"
"There's too many pretty wo/men around here."
"You have no idea how books can cause murder in this continent."
"You need a break, we all need a break, please take a break."
"My subordinates aren't home." "I'm on my way."
"May all the seven archons forgive me for what I'm about to do."
"I don't really know what's happening, but if it involves you, it's probably not good."
"You wouldn't want to anger the God of Contracts now, would you?"
"I'm gonna need a shot of fire-water for this..."
"You're telling me THIS is edible?"
"You're telling me S/HE'S not sus?!"
"You are dripping hella suspicious energy, maam/sir."
"God, I wanna be manhandled."
"I'm gonna climb that."
"Please don't climb that."
"I want to come out of this alive, thanks."
"You're too hot to be single, what is this sorcery?"
"You can't say aesthetic to everything."
"I'm from another world, these laws don't apply to me!"
"I'd appreciate it if you don't scream honeybun in public."
"Think of what _____ would say!" "They'd probably say I don't care."
"Would being an atheist prevent me from receiving a Vision?"
"Ewww, a (weapon) user?"
"I'm gonna need you to do social distancing, about 100 meters away from me."
"Where's a restraining order when you need one?"
"Ohh." "Ohh?" "Rock." "Rock?" "Shiny rock."
"I would like to dedicate this song to my dearest friend." *screams*
"Awwe, you scared them away." "I think you did that yourself."
"I can hear them, the Gods." "What do they say?" "That you need to shut up."
"I wonder how it's like to be eaten whole by a slime."
"I don't think bandages is an appropriate date attire."
"There's this annoying pain at my side. My right side. Right next to me. This pain right here."
"How can one be THIS broke?"
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but s/he's right for once."
"This nation sucks, I'm leaving."
"You can't arrest me, this is the City of Freedom!"
"I can't even pick a meal myself and now you're making me choose between these hot wo/men?!"
"In my world, we call this a not-poggers moment."
"I never knew fishing could be competitive."
"You're too cold for your Vision."
"You're too hot for your Vision."
"Ugh, why can't this happen on a Sunday?"
"Which innocent bystander did you steal this from?"
"This team needs a power cheer."
"I'm so mad, I'd fight gods!"
"That Hilichurl is looking at me not nicely."
"THIS is why you're under MY supervision."
"There's a thing called ignorance and you're abusing the heck outta it."
"No amount of painkillers can relieve me from the headache that is you."
"And you said we're just here to PICK flowers."
"I know where this is going, and it's going somewhere I don't like."

I'm not posting these one-shots in any particular order of when I wrote them. I just kinda take the one shot comments I make and post them on here.
I'm going to make more of the "dancing with your favourite character" prompt like with Diluc, and have a Chongyun one in drafts as well as a "Kaeya and you harrassing Diluc" planned in my mind

Trip Log | Childe's winter trip
How the hell did we get here?
It was the snowy season and Childe thought it would be wonderful to sweep you away from Mondstadt - without notice to Diluc - to climb a hill in Liyue.
"Look, here's a sledge. We can go down these hills together!"
"those are mountains, Childe" you had deadpanned at his excitement to travel down at such a dangerous height, the slope nothing but steep, but looking into his excited eyes, and genuinely eager expression your conviction wavered.
"Childe. It's really late, we've been climbing all day" the two of you climbed, with him aiding you the majority of the way, his hand grasped yours tightly in an effort to be sure you were safe near him.
"Really, this spot is the best one for sledging. This will be our final stop." His matte coloured eyes stared at you, though you didn't notice as you focused on your next step.
"I'm cold. I don't mean to complain, but I can spend time with you doing something else."
"Yes, and we'll do whatever you want later. I'll even let you..." He pondered for a second, "Well, I'll buy you that wing glider you mentioned you were saving up for!"
Eyes wide and stars sparkling your pace picked up, but your stiff legs and arms couldn't keep up with your excitement. Though in the end, seeing you motivated was enough for the Sneznhayan brat.
"Here we are. Welcome to our new hideout." Instead of going down some snow, he had brought you to a small abode, seemingly newly built, on the flat peak.
"The perfect spot for gliding, and a secluded area from the noise of the world." He welcomed you and dragged you straight to a bathroom, "There's pyjamas there, and I think the water should still be at least warm. Please let me know when you're done. I'm kind of cold too." He chuckled.
"Bruh, this is lit!" As you tried to leave, you felt yourself pulled back, "hey. You kinda need to let go of my hand."
"Oh?" He questioned, "Oh!" He realised.
______
"You don't have to get me the glider. I'm super excited just having this to share with you." The both of you sat comfortably in pyjamas, the ginger surprisingly docile sitting between your legs, as you sat on the sofa his back leaned on, while you dried his hair from his own bath.
"Yeah, just pay me back with your time."
"I'm not annoying? Don't you quite like the chaos of the world I'm dragging you out of?"
"On the contrary, I'm glad you haven't left me, despite how annoying I seem to be with you." His hands held onto yours resting on his head, "Not to dampen the mood, but don't leave me." Though his tone was playful, it was painfully obvious that he was desperately wanting you to not leave.
"Oh". Leaning over to him, your arms wrapped in a tender back hug.
"Of course not." There was a comfortable silence.
"Oh yeah, I had already bought that glider."
"What-"
"Tomorrow we'll glide down the mountain together." He smiled his head up looking for your reaction, " and a little birdie told me you came second in the gliding competition of Mondstat."
"Well," you smiled proudly.
________
"AHHHHHHH"
The wing glider broke as you had taken of a few metres away from the cliff.
"Y/n?!" Childe leapt immediately after you.
"oh my goodness, Barbatos, send me your wind. I'm sorry for calling you BARBARA TOES!" The ending increasing in volume as the ground slowly got closer to your body
Childe, an arm's length above you, didn't know whether he could laugh in this situation, but as he grabbed you and opened his glider, a glow of a small rock appeared in front of you, to which you instinctively grabbed, followed by a force of wind forcing the descent of your fall to decrease massively, especially since gliders weren't designed to carry such a weight.
"Oof!" The two of you landed harshly onto some snow, but without injuries, and you froze in post-shock the light blue stone firmly gripped in your hands, and you tightly held in Childe's grip.
"I'm going to kill that salesman" wide-eyed, he still managed to make a threat.
"Please just hold me, I don't need someone else almost dying." Also wide-eyed you didn't want to think about anything, completely ignoring the cold of the snow below you, and how you became the unlucky few to get a vision through a life-threatening experience.
"You don't need to tell me twice"
Though even after that trip, Childe didn't hesitate to completely get rid of the seller's business with news travelling fast of how it mysteriously burnt to the ground.
