for whatever reason weather.com keeps on putting the units in as Celsius as opposed to Frankenstein and i keep on being like pls. i am in america. use the freedom units i am begging you what the hell does 17 even MEAN

#jamie has made a statement #would get it if it was when i was in canada but nope its been doing this even in socal #all i know about celsius is yanno 0 is freezing 100 is boiling for water #and when my phone gets to 42C its too hot to handle #and that 27C is hot in england apparently #other than that i have No Clue #its just not as intuitive!!! or granular!!!!#esp bc it doesnt even have half units on the site #thats my one american unit i will insist is better for measuring #only for ambient temp tho #cooking temp or other shit celsius makes sense #oh and also F for body temp and med stuff #bc like ok. how do u easily tell when someone has a fever if u use celsius #like its so fucking easy w farhenheit bc its just is it above 100? not good #i dont even know what it is in celsius or an easy way to tell in celsius if its over 100F #im sure ppl have the numbers known but if i had a thermometer that only used celsius and i had a fever #i would not be a happy camper #off topic but i sometimes like having a fever. i dont know why lol #i like knowing my body is Cooking i guess bc i also like sitting in a hot car sometimes

#I had a lot of fun designing this!!!!!#i used the volkswagen kombi van as the base model and drew inspiration from modded cars with high rides #to kinda mimic those old horsedrawn caravan wagons.. i tried to keep functionality in mind so the tire covers on the chassis have #grips for where you would put your feet if you were to get in the drivers seat kinda like those huge freight trucks.. and since the ride #height is a little high theres a pool ladder attached to the back to mimic a caravan and to help ppl get in from the back #also exciting coming up with the stage side door.. i dont know exactly how it would work but i imagine the handle at the top #has to be turned and pulled in order to set up the stage.. and then theres a locking mechanism to keep it in place..??#theres also a stage curtain right behind the door where sleight would come out to do his performance so thats fun!!!#i dont have much to say abt the interior except i forgot to include the ladder which would help reach the skylight #the skylight is a little domed and i riffed that off the kombi camper too but its to contain his butterflies before and after shows ^_^#the hatch is inspired by the net stormdoor at my aunts house.. kinda like chicken wire?? and then there are flowers and pupae #idk if im ever gonna get around to coloring this but im happy finally getting my ideas down and turning it in my head lol #my art #myart #my oc #oc #sleight #concept art #interior #laikas comet oc #fan character #doodles

#so basically #at summer camp whilst i was counseling i saw two things #there was one counselor who we'll call “sarah” and she had only one camper bc reasons well call her camper “suzie”#now suzie is an INCREDIBLY good kid. shes super smart and kind and shes sincerely smiling almost all the time #shes super well-behaved and polite and does everything shes asked and THEN some #and sarah LOVES her. she is CONSTANTLY (understandably) bragging about how cool her camper is and how happy she is to have her as a camper #on the other side of that weve got “terry” and his camper “johnny”#now johnny is ALSO a really smart and nice and polite and cool kid #and terry is ALSO super proud of his camper and brags about him loads and is so happy to have him as a camper #there is one key difference though #sarah always bragged to suzie's face. she told suzie how cool she was how smart she was and how nice she was #sarah would be standing right next to suzie and loudly telling her friends how lucky she was to have suzie as a camper #terry on the other hand bragged behind johnny's back #johnny had NO WAY of knowing how happy terry was to have him as a camper or how smart he was or how cool he was #one time i watched terry talk to johnny and then while johnny was still there whisper to another counselor about how smart he was #so yeah #idk why that is #stick stories #three pigeons in a trench coat

TDI Advice wanted!

Hi TD fans! I'm planning a rewrite of TDI, the cast will be 18 for in-universe reasons (think legal contracts, I'm not gonna be weird about them). I'm aiming to make it more realistic and in line with the 2007 aesthetic, i.e era appropriate lingo & references, mobile phones are rare, homophobia is a bigger concern etc, but I'm wondering how far I should take it?

In the end I'll write what I enjoy, but should I lean more heavily into the gritty side of reality TV both on and behind the screen, include more notable sexism, potential slurs and creepy behaviours etc? The point is for there to be believable drama in-universe and the topics planned all have some merit to be present. I have some hard lines I'll never cross (see last tags on the post for those curious) and I want people familiar with the themes to feel seen rather than exploited reading it.

At the end of the day the cast are just youngsters getting to know each other and themselves. I want to humanize them and write believable conflicts without demonizing anyone, it is intended as a character driven story after all. But I also want to know what others think would make for an enjoyable read/take on the show.

The cast will inevitably diverge from their canon counterparts, but I am unsure how to handle certain characters, an example being LeShawna. She's clearly based on a racist stereotype, but her personality, background and lingo are a huge part of her appeal and I'd rather portray her in a better light than change her from the ground up. If you have any pointers I can keep in mind for her or anyone else you think is often portrayed poorly in canon or fanon then please let me hear your takes! This goes for non-TDI castmates as well, even if they don't show up in the story I wanna know what people think does and doesn't work for them and their tropes/traits cause it might still be relevant!

Because while I want to explore some unrelated topics I still want this to be the TD cast. Not my OCs.#That said there will be personal headcanons thrown in. But I hope they flow well with canon and don't stand out as a sore thumb.#Some HCs might replace canon traits but only if I think they were bad/random or underdeveloped.#And if you have songs you think fit the campers pls send them my way! Good character playlists really helps w getting into their headspace #While I am a huge IOTS fan I don't intend to reference it in my work. No gore or character deaths because that stuff is too impactful both-#-for the characters and for the show in-universe. It would derail everything which is what makes IOTS work but is unfitting here.#All TWs will be listed once I start writing. I'm happy to tag niche phobias/squicks/TWs as well so if you're interested in reading but-#-worry that something specific might be included then just ask! No matter how silly it might seem I've got you covered.#What I won't include: SA nor heavy sexism/racism. I might not touch racism much at all outside of beauty standards/racist tv tropes.#Any heavy topic included will be approached with a lot of care and consideration for those affected. i start intensive outpatient therapy on tuesday and i could not be more upset lmao. i know its going to be good for me overall but i cant think of something i want to do less than that sjshdhdh. ALSO it runs all the way up until my birthday with my birthday being my last day (unless i get discharged early) which is just.... no good.

#its 3 hours a day 4x a week #for four weeks #😭#im going to krill myself fr i dont wanna goooooo #what do you mean i have to go sit with strangers almost every day and leave my house.....#the intake nurse also said a lot of shit about my psychosis that makes me nervous #like implying that bpd cant cause psychosis and that their program usually prohibits ppl w psychosis #and mentioned that if i show any symptoms of psychosis she couldnt ethically allow me to be around the group????#so id either be discharged or warded against my consent depending on symptoms #and she kept. mentioning that if i showed ANY SIGNS she would ward me or kick me out like #made comments to that degree like 3 times #where im like 🤨#maam let me be insane. let me cook please my psychotic nature is the least of my issues sjshdhdhd #anyways im not a happy camper about this but.#on a positive note my friends got a minecraft realm thanks to our one friend being VERY GENEROUS and buying us one??!#and so ive spent like. many days now just playing minecraft with everyone on vc for hours and its so funnnnn #no therapy just minecraft 😠#my post
