opinions on knk or fate zero?? i just like hearing ppls thoughts jfhdn

i had some trouble with this post the first time around so bear with me uhh

I think Fate/Zero is good, when I first watched it I think I kinda figured that it was the best Fate media I’d ever watch but I like UBW MUCH more, and Heaven’s Feel even more than that, so. Zero doesn’t really hold up as strong on rewatch imo because so much of the story is spent with such a persistently hopeless tone that it’s hard for me to remain invested, but that’s just a problem I have with tragedies in general. I think Zero’s strongest points by far are Waver, the gathering of kings, Iri and Saber just being adorable together, and the last fight with Berserker. I really want to like the Kiritsugu flashbacks but I just can’t really get into them now that I know… y’know. about how they end. Really that’s just the mood for Fate/Zero overall. With all the suspense removed I just retain interest in it, even if I do still think it’s a pretty good story. 

Straight up I think Kara no Kyoukai is Nasu’s best work, or at least best out of anything I’ve ever read. I think Shiki is a fascinating and excellently realized character. I could fucking gush about Shiki for hours, honestly. I love how she is portrayed as Slightly Not Human and yet you can still deeply feel her humanity, I love how she can be shown on-screen with clear murderous intent and yet you can still feel a variety of emotions from her that she herself is struggling to express. She’s almost like an edgy supernatural Komi-san but in reverse, where she’s got this incredibly intense untouchable aura but over the course of the series you realize she’s extremely complex and sensitive and cares a whole lot about the people around her, she just has no idea how to show it, and I love more than anything that she finds a happy resolution and is understood and appreciated by her family without having to become more expressive. Me and my autistic ass eat that shit up. 

fuckin shit I was about to go off for another like three paragraphs. I just love Shiki. Ellie loves her even more than I do so if you didn’t ask for her thoughts I would suggest you do, cause she’ll probably explain things better than me in this case.
