I FEEL SO NORMAL about these upcoming 911 episodes. I doubt I've ever normaled more, in a normal fashion of being really absolutely 100% fine. Here, look at me being fine:

Oh, why am I NORMAL?

Well. It just might be that it's confirmed that episode S704 of the series is called Buck, bothered and and bewildered. (We'll return to this title.)

So the focus of the episode is obviously on Buck. Buck, being bothered and bewildered. (Yes, we'll return to this title.)

They've also released the synopsis of the episode, and apparently Buck's arc has to do with him "growing envious as Eddie forms a close bond with someone else".

The released photos from that episode appear to hint that Eddie's new close bond is with Tommy, another firefighter. So it seems apparent that Buck fears that he's being replaced, and is losing Eddie.

Now, let's dive into that episode title. Buck, bothered and bewildered.

The reference appears pretty obvious. Bewitched, bothered and bewildered is a song, famously performed by the god disguised as human, whom people called Ella Fitzgerald.

It's a love song. It's a love song of jealous love. How fitting for an episode which focuses on Buck, watching Eddie form a close bond with someone who isn't Buck.

Who could this "imitation" be, replacing Buck in Eddie's life? Tommy, maybe?

Btw I'm not sure how well people know the expression "put on a blink", so here's a definition:

And even more fittingly, what I've concluded from the promo is that in the episode Buck maybe becomes so angry/jealous/frustrated, that he kinda loses it during a basketball game, and causes an injury from being too rough.

So this "half-pint imitation" indeed appears to make him go "out of order".

Btw, the song Bewitched, bothered and bewildered also very dramatically ends with the narrator swearing that they've now fallen out of love, "bewitched, bothered and bewildered NO MORE".

In another universe I would absolutely make animatics with these songs. I most likely won't, though, so take these as inspirations! (if anyone makes any of them I'll explode)

Spoilers up to like episde 105!

Wind in my hair (reprise): Jay singing as she joins Chip on his adventures. The Riptide origins episode. The musical break part for this conversation: "So we're doing this?" "Aye aye, captain"

Let me make you proud (reprise): Honestly this is such a "young Chip after the Midnight Rose goes under" song. Chip swears he'll find Arlin and the rest of the Black Rose pirates, no matter what it takes. The "they will pay" part is fun because of him joining Price's gang not much later.

Friendship song: Gillion and Pretzel just vibing. They've been through so much, practically grown up together.

Listen up: Queen in the bar, the first time they meet Gillion. (there might be more to this, haven't caught up with Riptide yet)

Set yourself free: Jay right after the BLOCK arc, deciding to finally live her own life and separate herself from the navy. "Forced to play a role you never chose" would fit Gillion too, but I think Jay actually chooses to be her own person and live the way she wants, whereas Gill had no choice/didn't want it (at first!)

Next stop anywhere: The gang, out on the sea, right after blowing up that navy tower. So episode 2. Gill as Rapunzel singing about experiencing all those new things.

The view from up here: Listen. Young Ava (as Rapunzel) flying whyle carrying Jay (as Cass) who at this point can't fly yet. Singing about how up there, the Navy vs. Pirates conflict isn't relevant. How they both want to be free from expectations.

Buddy song: Chip and Gill on drugs in the Electrodon episode... yeah

Stronger than ever before: The riptide pirates back on Zero, giving their speech about how they'll renovate the island and stand up to the Navy together (except the "war may be won" part)

The girl who has everything: Gillion in episode 83 (?) when he comes back from the pearl. Everything's fine but only for a little bit as things get rougher right after.

Through it all: Gillion hypes up the gang to go to the Black Sea. Second verse with the "save our home and take it back" are the other crew members (especially Drey), "onward we ride, who knows if we'll make it back" is Chip (because TRAUMA) "we're at your side" is Jay (<3)

I'd give anything: Gillion some time after reading Edyn's letter in the bar tries to call her but it's on voice mail. So he sends a message (the song) to her, hoping they'll reunite one day.

The simp-ification of Kaisagi is my 13th reason, I'm not even gonna lie chief. Why, whyyy are most Kiis fics like that. Why is Isagi always the poor submissive uke who cries and begs, like, have you seen THEM?? Are y'all sure that any of them would be screaming and crying?? Let's be real, if Isagi saw Kaiser choking himself he would lend a helping hand 😭 God they're so amazing. And crazy. And sick. And batshit insane. I love them a normal amount, I swear-

And I love red-flag-Kaiser. Him being a total asshole, the master of gaslightining, of poor excuses and ghosting. The dude does NOT know how to handle a healthy relationship. He would go crazy if Isagi ever tried to ghost him for a whole day, though. Like, the nerve.

I'm absolutely living for the current Kaiser, crumbling and falling into desperation. I need to see him at his lowest, where not even Ness can help him up. I need to see Isagi step on him and rise. Yet I don't know how this will conciliate with my desire to see PXG win… My boy Rin needs to step on both of them and take his rightful crown. Ugh, I just love all of them. Can't both teams win?? Ego can change football rules, right??

(You brought up two ships that I absolutely despise too, NaruHina and SasuSaku. I barely consider them canon since it's just a poor attempt of catering to heteronormativity. To me they don't even exist. Yes, I do dislike Kainess, but not this much, at least it makes sense somehow. But Kishimoto straight up decided to pull these two ships out of his sorry ass lmfao) I sure would love to say that I miss Naruto, but then I end up remembering that shitty ending and the nostalgia fades… I do really miss its villains though!

Facts, sister.

I have never really understood the attraction in one person of a pairing being absolutely down bad for the other- like, is it really fun when it's so one sided?

In some fics, you can just see the author bias, like its so blatant- one partner is absolutely on their knees for the other.

(Although, I don't exactly mind if it's a pwp, iykwim, it's okay if that's Isagi's kink, no kinkshaming here ;p

Is it unrealistic? Possibly.

What really grinds my gears are the character driven fics in which none of them are actually in character.

I see this a lot in Victuuri fics too- some make Yuuri a total BAMF Badass and Victor's completely down bad for him- to the point that Victor's always the one apologising, no matter if Yuuri is in the wrong too.

Kaiser and his everything- character style, arc, personality- is so delicious, I just wanna gobble him up lol

NaruHina and SasuSaku... I could rant about these two ships and the travesty that was the ending all day.

Hinata and Sakura and their obsession over those two was so pathetic. The fact that the boys were given to them as reward for persevering in their love makes me want to kill something. And everything after the war arc ended was a way rapidly drive off all the fans of the series.

Like, even if you somehow look past their shitty marriages of convenience and the sheer insult that was The Last, what the fuck was that Hokage Inauguration episode. The sheer anger I feel at the thought of that episode and the fact that people defend that bullshit is going to make me end up at the therapist. Naruto not getting to attend his own inauguration as Hokage was a garbage joke and nothing and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

Sasuke and Naruto deserved to end up together- and no, them being spirit brothers is a garbage reason to not ship them because it's not even fucking true. Transmigration and reincarnation are not synonyms, people.

Personally, I think Kishimoto also wanted them to end up together, but he wasn't allowed to do that. The official art is so couple-y, it's not even subtle. To say nothing of what he wrote in his own series.

Indeed KaiNess makes a hell of a lot more sense then SasuSaku and NaruHina. Atleast Kaiser and Ness are friends- toxic yes, but still friends.

Tbh, I’ve only really gotten into Henry through writing my series The Normal People :0 I think because of the fact that he didn’t have much of a presence/character/personality etc that I disregarded him for William and Michael (plus i was whore-knee™️)

But, since making up a character for him I’ve been FLOORED by his potential?? He’s got such an interesting, albeit tragic backstory that can be interpreted in so many ways - What happened to his wife? Why is he so passive compared to William? What are his traits? Etc, added onto the fact that he’s a single dad. I like to see him as someone who seems overwhelmingly good at it, but previously had trouble getting adjusted to it (implied/briefly mentioned in the series)

And then there’s obviously the Willry ship, which I totally understand from a fandom POV, but I’ve also shipped him with Mrs Afton. Obviously in canon she doesn’t have any presence, but considering IRL they’d be the two people most affected by William’s antics, I feel like there’s a potential for angst/forbidden love.

So it was basically through my own findings? But reading headcanons and seeing fan art of him definitely helps too, and it’s so surprising that there’s not more (x readers, there’s a few straight up fanfics) !! I think his lack of character might ‘intimidate’ some people - unlike William who has a lot to go off of.

Other than that, how can one NOT love him? He’s a single dad working to provide for his daughter🥲🥲 He’s probably lonely and I think that’s why I want to write about him more? Just to see how he interacts with others and how things would work for a S/O to be apart of his life

TLDR; Writing my story helped me get interested in Henry, but so did fanart (see tags)!! He’s underrated and deserves more🥺🤍

okay so, for lyric im sharing his literal origin story, as well as some facts about the man and some drawings i like of him.

first some facts:

he's pan and a flirt

in the college au he needs glasses to read

his flower is lycoris radiata (got it from this video, minute 3:35)

origin story:

so i had been toying with the concept of a character named lyric which lived through multiple déjà vus. and he died too. one day (on a plane to ireland with school) i drew this guy:

and i went "oh he's cool i like him". then, like two months later i was drawing ely and i got a revelation:

"lyric & ely belong 2 the same story. ely is the one thing that's different at his new life" which is INSANE of my brain to think about because ely is a character from 2017 i drew ONCE. and now here we are

and then i drew him for the first time, and then in a scene with ely <;3 (and then killing a monster but im not showing it because i didn't know how to draw profiles and it shows)

KARMA

i find it hard to say things about karma because with his pov we learn most of the relevant stuff. so you are getting fun facts and a sad fact

first the fun:

in the modern aus he's legally blind. round golden rimmed glasses.

his plushy (you'll meet him in today's chapter i believe) is called jhai

his name comes from me hearing someone call their dog karma and going "oh that can be a name cool im using it" (the other dog was called kraken)

he's the character that has gone through the most extreme character design change of the bunch (mainly because everyone else didn't exist). but he was more of a black sheep of the family cool dude that could use guns (yes there were guns in púlsar early stages idk either). his hair was also auburn. and then idk what happened but i changed it to the mess he's now. very glad i did i love him

so, my man is very depressed. his mom's death hit him hard and it was all in general a terrible time for him (also it was around his bday. this was totally unintentional i swear)

on the early days and in spite of the promise he made, he climbed onto his windowsill and thought about jumping. everything was just too much. fortunately, someone knocked on his door and scared him, he slipped backwards and fell to the floor. he hasn't told this to anyone and doesn't intend to, but even if that's two months before púlsar, that's basically the mental state he starts with

and stealing your phrase, spoiler for flavor: he doesn't end púlsar much better

SHER

i can't tell you much. but what i CAN do is show you some baby sher and karma being cute together so you are extra sad about today's púlsar chapter:

"baaaa" "will you stop pulling my hair?" // "mom look he's walking" (chasing a bird) & it's cut but it says "he's so tiny" // sher teaching karma how to read

sher being told he has to leave his mom's home "do i really need to leave?" and it's cut but it says "you need to learn to be a prince with your dad" // sher at the palace // sher and karma's plushy lions

also as a fun(?) fact, he was very close to his uncle (his mother's younger brother). he was a big support for him when he moved to the palace away from his mom, and acted as a shield (or as much as he could) between him and his father. the uncle's name is Ádil.

he was married to Orga (one of the members of the council, arranged marriage), and died shortly after karma moved to the palace (sher was around 16 by then, and for reference, he's 23 now). sher suspects that his uncle's death wasn't fully natural, but he still has to be nice to orga because she's powerful.

ádil was one of the few people in the council that openly opposed the shahin. go figures i wonder what happened there.

IRA

you did in fact not write that properly, but that's actually great because it gives a segue into a fun fact about him!

i affectionately call him gman and mostly all my notes refer to him as that. also, once my phone autocorrected his name to garbanzo (chick pea). bean (a nickname for a character from púlsar gen 2) calls him that (ira did totally not correct her when she started doing it because she thought it was 1. funny and 2. that it would annoy garvan). also! karma sometimes calls him G

as a not so fun fact: he often needs to be the balancing component in the friend group, being silly and making jokes. he doesn't look like it, but he's very caring and does worry a lot about karma (not that karma notices lol).

his mom died in childbirth so it was emhi's mom that took care of him (until she too died shortly after). we don't talk about their father.

he was close with sher when they were younger (sher used to beat him at sparring), bonding over being clear aldamu and what it meant for them (sher taught him things about khithi culture that his mom taught him).

(i have so Many Thought about emhi garvan and sher as young teens in the palace, you have no idea, there's some clues sprinkled around púlsar about it but that's all you are officially getting)

FINALLY. Fellow Death Note fan <3333 Who’s your fav? Do you have any ships? Are you done with the anime??? :D (also do you know…you picked a really interesting time to join the DN fandom. The American live-action movie just came out and it sucks so freaking bad, like I haven’t even watched it yet and just from the reviews/clips, here’s what I got:

-They turned Misa into this Harley Quinn-type character. Only without any depth.

-Light/Misa is an actual canon ship, like, it’s not abusive or one-sided like it is in the anime/manga, it’s just…a thing. Light loves Misa. Misa loves Light. It’s like every cringey high school romance movie ever, only with more murder

-They freaking bent the Death Note rules just so Light could get away with all sorts of ridiculous stuff

-L cries, L rants, L is overly emotional

-Light tells L where he hid a page from his Death Note. Light doesn’t deny being Kira. Light shows Misa his Death Note when they like barely know each other and she’s still a complete stranger to him. Light acts like an idiot.

-Oh sure, he’s Kira, God of the New World, but he still cares about going to prom with his girlfriend and making stupid faces as they pose for pictures

-So much unnecessary gore. Heart attacks are Kira’s thing, Light isn’t that emotional about his kills, he doesn’t care as long as the 'villains’ are dead, so why???

-Apparently Rem does not exist. Sayu doesn't exist either. Light’s mom is dead (probably so he can angst over her)

-Light Turner. Light TURNER. Out of all the surnames they could have chosen…

-And now, for the most unforgivable sin:

And then random things: JJ and Light have the same voice actor. Yurio and Mello (imo…have you met Mello yet?) could be long-lost twins.

Okay, but one thing I’m wondering about, is How? Not in a malicious way or anything, I’m genuinely curious to why you ship Stoki (and where it began). Was it that redemption fic you told me about or did you ship it before? 

Tbh, I didn’t hate the characters in CW, I hated the situation. Because there’s so so much pointless conflict that could easily be solved if everyone sat down and talked like normal people. But nooo we have to go around attacking each other. ((ALSO CAP’S LETTER TO TONY, I AM DEAD))

I’ve already learned (and experienced) that shipping is a very weird and unusual thing, so I’ll be honest and say I’m not even surprised that ship exists. At least it has some basis XD

Tbh I’d say I’m responsible enough (HA, that’s more or less a lie), but I’m honestly way too irritated with the little ones to be able to have one of my own. My cousin recently celebrated her 3rd bday and I was stuck looking after her during the party, bc all the adults were talking among themselves and I swear to god, I haven’t moved that much since I had to run 2km for PE. Where do they get their energy. Not to mention the adults thought it would be a good idea to leave me w her, because I’d already drunk 3 glasses of wine (i was bored and not allowed to do anything other than stare at emptiness or look after a 3yo). Turns out my tolerance isn’t that bad after all.

I think you’d actually like the manga? It takes a pretty dark turn compared to the anime and deals with lots of mental issues (the whole theme of the later volumes is Madness). Also, lots of death XD Well, the artwork changes drastically, so which one are you talking about XD

The girl in the coat (left first pic, middle 2nd) is the same person for reference. Death the Kid was one of my first anime crushes. The guy has OCD and is a total badass. 

MUHAHAHAHA I think someone uploaded the Lizzy fight to youtube so you can probably find it there, but I am in love. The animation is beautiful, so that’s also a huge plus. All in all, it was handled really well.

Death Note

So last I’ve watched is ep 25, aka the one WHERE L DIES. And i am not okay. I am nowhere near okay. Nope. Not at all.

Oh i’ve heard all about the adaptation. Tbh I find the whitewashing hilarious. Setting the movie in America removes so much of the series’s logic, so why? L being the way he is is probably my favourite mistake. They took the best character and ruined him completely.  POTATO CHIP SCENE NOOOO But my question is: did everything go just according to the keikaku?

Have fun w SU! I’ve watched it for a while, but gave up at some point. I might pick it up again if I have the time ^^ Word of advice, watch out for the fandom, they’re among the most toxic ones I’ve ever encountered. One time, they almost drove an artist to suicide because she didn’t draw Rose ‘thick enough’. So yeah.
