Can we stop with all this drama all the time? Maybe it’s just because it’s 3am that I’m making this post, but it feels like every day there is some new garbage going on.

Just found a new favorite indie game that you binged for a week straight? Well it turns out that the Dev is a backpedaling jerk with questionable morals and ethics who can’t take criticism to save his life.

Like a website that all your favorite artists are on? Well guess what? It just got a hidden update so now they can’t even promote themselves to hopefully make a living out of their passion! Not to mention the website they use to acquire money for said living changing its rules without warning or reason so now the artist is just boned.

Like using the internet? That sucks, because now there’s a bill being proposed that will literally change the internet and how it works forever because some people can’t take responsibility for their kids actions.

AGAIN

Probably the most annoying part is that you can’t complain about it because the most that will happen is somebody calling you out for complaining and calling you a whiny loser that can’t deal with anything.

I’m just so sick of all this drama.

i understand the point of the yellow eyes is to show that he is no longer himself, he's been brainwashed, possessed by evil forces beyond his control, all that. but they didn't have to make his eyes so mesmerizingly pretty, beautiful even, in this scene to emphasize that

considering it was the late 1800s, do you think Seward and VH are oblivious to Jonathan's watchfulness because Stoker couldn't justify writing Jonathan implying that "vampirism and blasphemy are fine if it's for Mina, actually" beyond his initial declaration? We don't seem to get much more of it directly from Jonathan's entries either after that, just by implication.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor.

Considering all the very potent metaphors at work in the premise of 'God has denied love and protection to my beloved over X Violation and/or X State of Being which is beyond their control, and I have decided our love is more holy than any decision of the Almighty, and I would rather be a monster with her than shun/destroy her As Is the Righteous Thing to Do,' Stoker was already dancing on the edge of acceptability with Jonathan making his secret vow even once.

But thankfully, that single vow--and the adamant refusal to even pretend to make a new 'Yes honey, I will absolutely vampire martyr-murder you like a good Christian boy! God says it's chill just like it was for Lucy and everyone else Dracula has snacked on for untold centuries! God's will be done!'--likely flew over a lot of heads back in the day (as it does now) and simply landed in a lot of hearts with the more obvious factor of...

"Oh. He is literally willing to brave Hell and eternal damnation as the conscripted undead, possibly even cutting down his stake-wielding friends, just to protect and be with his beloved? ...That's kind of hot."

Especially during a period when romance was basically just a bonus to tack on to the Job of Being Married. Jonathan Harker is proven multiple times to be the un-Victorian Victorian man, running from the Brides (mistress stand-ins), happily letting his wife take the lead and holding her up as his equal until he's peer pressured out of it (which leads to dangerous consequences! Social mores fucked everything up! And He Only Follows New Directions with Mina's Approval Going Forward!), and now here's this romantic motherfucker ready to skin Dracula and French kiss the Devil so long as it sees his beloved safe and un-slaughtered, even if she isn't ~perfect and saintly and non-monstrous~.

Girls gays and goths of 1897 were definitely fanning themselves at the next tea party book club once they reached October 3rd.

Even without the ell gee bee tee undertones to glean from Stoker's own romantic leanings, the idea of 'selfish' personal love, of a mere human being, getting held up as more important than God, someone worth Hell, was extremely spicy to depict during that period. If Stoker had had Jonathan repeating himself over and over regarding his secret plans, it would have started to sound a bit like writing a smitten Poe protagonist. Which would also be sexy! But it'd risk taking some of the heroic shine off of him towards the end.

Better to let it hang over the narrative's neck in silence like an axe waiting to fall.

A random thought came to me: Since humans have a language filter that lets them hear most everyone as speaking their native language, does that mean, if there are other Pokemon languages, that Nia wouldn't immediately realize and just keep talking like nothing's different? Leads to the potential funny ideas of Tobias wondering how Nia is perfectly speaking a new language, or Nia understanding an aside comment someone made not realizing they spoke a different language.

Ha!!! This is perfect timing, because we'll actually touch on the whole language thing again in the next chapter! :D

Humans were given the ability to understand Ordirune since that's the primary language spoken in the Seekers world, but that ability isn't necessarily an automatic translator for every language. 👀 The humans have basically an unconscious filter in their brains, so they might be thinking in their native English or German but speaking aloud in Ordirune, and vice-versa. So lesser-known Pokemon languages would still be unintelligible to humans unless they learned them manually!

Hey why not a few Clockmare headcanon for Halara’s birthday!

There is a loading screen that mentions Halara’s candy (lollipop). The worse their mood, the sweeter the candy. So I’m assuming to better their mood they having something sweet.

One day Fubuki asked about Halara’s lollipop and they told them that information. So the next time Fubuki saw Halara in a bad mood she kissed them and when asked why she did that she said that kisses are sweet. And it worked.

If Halara was gone for a long time Fubuki would surprise Halara and like throw herself onto them and Halara would catch them in a hug and carry her like Fubuki would wrap her legs around their waist and arms around their neck.

Bodice embellishment is 95% done, and the Glass Gown is starting to live up to its name! I’m finishing up the silver embroidery right now, using a very long chain stitch for most of it. I found that to have the best impact and fluidity for the long stems.

The silver embroidery thread is Sajou ‘Fil au Chinois’ in metallic silver. The beading thread is Kinkame 50wt silk in color #10.

The beads are:

2mm Czech fire-polished in Crystal AB, Crystal w/ Silver AB, and Silver.

mini Gem-duo beads in silver

3mm and 6mm Miyuki smooth bugle beads in Crystal AB

6mm Dyna-mites twist bugle beads in opaque ceylon rainbow white

15/0 Toho “3-cut” seed beads in silver (these have a very warm, nearly gold tone but this added some nice variety).

I actually bought so many other beads for this project but none of them ended up working out. This combo ended up giving me the texture and color variety I wanted while remaining cohesive and restrained. I especially love working with the fire-polished beads. The facets give them so much sparkle and texture while not being chunky or tacky. I will definitely be getting more in more colors for future projects (and also these colors again because they’re so versatile).
