I’m actually incredibly mentally unstable rn and I wanna do very bad things but let’s play headcanons.
SPEED ROUND, IDI-AZUL
Everyone was like “you’re willingly having a kid with THAT?” When Azul announced his pregnancy. RIP Idia’s pride.
Azul’s already got mad hip problems because of his transformation out of mer form and such, so putting on baby weight is a killer.
Idia insists on Azul not working himself too hard. Azul still goes to work, but Idia does all of the cooking and cleaning from the moment he finds out.
Lots of Idia being just a genuinely good house husband, he always sneakily gets Azul to admit his cravings out loud and makes them. Most days, that’s cinnamon toast with bananas.
Azul having absolutely terribly body dysphoria, just, the moment he starts seeing the bump. He cries about it to Idia for hours on end, just getting so many cuddles.
House husband Idia has nothing better to do in between his work than to order a lot of things to prepare for his baby, they have a lot of junk in the months before. But he does follow the specific theme they chose for the nursery.
Idia insists on a deep sea themed nursery, because we wants pretty jellyfish lights, but Azul shuts it down. They decide on a stars theme. Boy or girl, they don’t care, Azul wants something with symbolism. Idia gets to make pretty star lights instead. He just keeps ordering more and more decor. He even hires a painter to make the walls look like space, with constellations and everything.
Azul takes off work to do things at home around five months in, his mobility has gone to shit. His hips hurt and his knees are having a hard time keeping up too. Idia has to help him even just get up to go to the bathroom. He doesn’t mind, anything to make the load easier.
Lots of cuddles, Idia loves to keep a hand on Azul’s belly while they sleep, just in case he feels something at it wakes him up. It doesn’t but he still tries.
Azul’s mum coming on land to support and see what’s going on. She and Idia got along before, and she’s amused to see him running around for Azul’s every request.
Jade sends countless gifts, he’s excited to be an uncle, considering he doesn’t want children of his own.
Idia is obsessed with taking pictures of his husband in the later stages, no matter how many times he is told to stop.
Many many belly and hip rubs from Idia as things get further, he just wants Azul to be comfortable while he’s mostly stuck on bed rest. Also a lot of breakfast in bed.
Idia seems like the type to faint when Azul gourd into labour. He does.
It only takes five hours of contractions before wee baby is brought into the world. Yippee. Not too painful now.
Idia is the worlds best dad please he would be so good.

idiAzul I never posted
Azul had been more stressed out than usual lately. He was a successful business owner, with a very loving husband who had made success as well. What could be better? Well, it seemed, life knew what they needed, and they ended up with something neither had ever thought about before. A baby. It wasn’t exactly a hard pregnancy, Azul just found it to be a bit embarrassing.
When their daughter was born, Azul hated going back to work within days. He would go to work, despite terrible pains in his hips from the birth and general existing complications, suffer through his entire day at the office and the meetings, and come home for bed. He didn’t have too much time to bond with his newborn, and a lot of the time when he got back to his home, his heart sank a little when he saw Idia doing all the work.
Some days, when Azul managed to stay awake when he got home, he would eat alongside his husband, but he couldn’t even manage to hold his baby, she was either asleep or with Idia every time. The mer felt terrible, he couldn’t even step up and be a good father, it made him a terrible husband..
Having just arrived home from work, an hour early thanks to him having a great assistant, Azul found Idia getting his coat on. “Where are you going?” Azul asked, sliding his shoes off. “Store.” Idia responded, his keys in between his teeth as patted himself down, making sure he had his phone in one of his pockets. Idia took his keys from his mouth and gave Azul a quick kiss. “I’ll be back in less than half an hour, she’s asleep, I have a couple bottles made in the fridge, I love you.” Azul smiled, repeating the last words as he watched Idia go out the door.
Well, such a warm welcome. Azul sighed as he finally made it to the kitchen, opening the fridge. Right, the store made sense now that he was looking. Their fridge was basically empty, and Azul wondered if either of them had properly eaten in the week since Nerida was born.
Azul was barely able to begin piecing a dinner together when he heard the baby monitor in the living room go off. He walked over and picked it up, still hearing the muffled cries. His shoulders tightened, and part of him realised he hadn’t held her in so long now, he felt guilty. His hands wobbled a bit as he set the monitor back down and hobbled down the hall to his bedroom. Their doctor had recommended that she sleep in the same room as them for the first few weeks, for safety, and Azul took that very seriously. They even had a travel cot set up in Idia’s office so he could watch over her when he decided to pull an all-nighter.
The door swung open, and Azul walked in, over to where his daughter lay, squirming around and crying, face red. Azul couldn’t help but smile as it reminded him of Riddle. No, he had to get his thoughts straight.
He picked up the baby, holding her as gently as he could, while still being firm. He was trying to use just one of his arms to hold her, while the other kept him balanced, but he gave up and quickly sat down on the bed. She was still crying, and Azul wasn’t sure what to do, Idia was much better with this than him! He carefully bounced her a few times, then went and propped himself against the pillows. This was a good spot for him, right?
Sighing softly, Azul laid Nerida on his chest, rubbing her back. A hum escaped his vocals, and a tune started to form, a smile on his lips. He reached over to the side table and grabbed her pacifier, pushing it into her mouth. She still whined, but there was less noise coming from her now. “Up where they walk.. Up where they run..” Azul could feel Nerida trembling less and less. “Up where they stay all day in the sun..” He started to get up off the bed. “Wanderin’ free..” He kissed her forehead. “Wish I.. Could be..” Nerida was now right back where he found her, sleeping soundly. “Part of.. That world..”

IdiAzul Oneshot
Pacing back and forth, Azul was biting his nails. He didn’t want to have this conversation, it was.. Hard. Everything about this situation Azul found himself in was hard! He rubbed his hands together, took a few deep breaths. But it was nearly impossible to calm down. Azul was repeating in his head the exact way and order he would say things in when Idia got home, and it wasn’t like they hadn’t had a serious talk before, just not about this one. They never even mentioned it in passing, just didn’t think it was a huge possibility..
The front door clicked open and Azul turned around, seeing Idia come in with a couple of grocery bags. “People were staring.. I said you should go with me..” He complained, sighing as he dropped the bags on the counter. Azul quietly apologised. Idia stopped and looked up, turning to see Azul. “What? No telling me it was good for my mental health to go out alone..?”
“Idia, we need to talk. About something very important.” Azul said sternly, and Idia shrunk back, now avoiding eye contact. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to phrase it like that, you didn’t do anything wrong, I’m not mad at you. Come here.” Azul motioned for idia to follow as he sat down on the couch, waiting until Idia was cautiously sitting too. Azul assured him again, he wasn’t mad, but Idia still looked weary. “Would you say we’re well off people? Money and housing, insurance, all of it?” Idia nodded slowly. “And, if we were to.. Want children someday, would you want that?”
The question came as a surprise to Idia, and he shrugged. It was obvious he was nervous, but what was it he could do? They’ve never talked about things like this before. “Well.. I never thought much about having kids before.. But if you want to do that, like, we aren’t low level players or anything..” He mumbled, relaxing a little bit. “I guess I’m just curious about what brought this on..?”
“Ah, about that.” Azul pushed his glasses up. “I meant to say something sooner, I just got too nervous.” He chuckled, showing that he still was. “I really didn’t know how to bring it up, but, surprise. I’m pregnant. I found out about a month ago now, but I went and saw a doctor. He says I'm more like two months, I just somehow avoided seeing any signs until recent weeks. I sort of pieced things together on my own, and went for confirmation.”
Idia was speechless, biting his lip and watching Azul with wide eyes. “You waited that long to tell me?” He asked, a slight tone of hurt in his voice. “Azul, we gotta tackle tasks together! Seriously! You should have told me when you found out! I would have been trying to help out more!”
Azul blinked a few times before his nose scrunched up. “Oh you quit that, I’m not crippled!” He huffed, and Idia crossed his arms in protest. “I’ll be fine! I’ve barely even noticed! And I’m surprised you didn’t notice, there is a little more chub on me than before..”
“Oh, I sort of did, I just thought it would be really insensitive of me to say something.” Azul felt a little comforted at the explanation. “But if I’d have known I would have said something, obviously!” “Stop trying to redeem yourself. “Azul said with a small laugh, and Idia rolled his eyes.
