I know the main theory about why Nell has Billy is that he was passed on from captain Jackson but that would explain Roxy's magic/ whatever she has. I think he's maybe come from their mum, but only appeared in Nell's life when she needed him. Roxy's magic showed up when she needed help, I'd love it if all 3 girls had some kind of power/ magic/ whatever that only came into their lives when they need it and George just hasn't needed it yet because she's got Roxy and Nell instead.

ooohhh but i'm thinking tonight about byan finally getting to have long nails... -like, okay, so they've always kept their nails v short and blunt bc they're never quite sure of where they're going to be... they could be in a foster home one day & on the street in the next, for all they know - there's no security, there's no certain safety, plus, like... fancy long nails? do Not agree particularly well with things like parkour. they're bound to break at least a few in all their climbing, you know? it's just a lot easier for them to keep them short and paint their natural nails.

but in college and beyond... they have a stable home. they aren't fucking around and finding out quite as much as before. they don't have to rely solely on parkour shortcuts to get to where they need to be. finally, they have that stability and freedom to play around with having those longer, fancier nails that they've always admired without having to risk half of them breaking off within the next 24 hours... and i just think they end up having a lot of fun with that. there's so much more that they can do now than those more basic forms of nail art they've been stuck with for years... they get to experiment all over again and!!! have such a blast with it!!!
