Stede and Ed had been together for a long time now, and they surely made the perfect couple. They had heard everything about their respective lifes, ans that included you in Ed's apportation.

Stede had been told by both Ed and Izzy (mostly Izzy) that you were a fierce pirate, the fiercest he had met in fact, and that it was no clever choice to mess with you. Rumours (Izzy again) said that you had the strenght of an entire army and your eyes were said to reflect hell itself.

But, when Stede and his crew met you, their expectations were quickly throwed off as they met the most charming and kind pirate they have ever met. You joked with the crew and kindly greeted Stede the first time before shouting "Ed!" and hugging him tightly. You even gave Olivia a few pats and complimented her feathers! The whole crew was delighted with your presence.

▪︎Ed is very happy to see you again! He missed you and your work together as a team. He missed the good old days were you would terrorize the rival ships together, the good old days where you would drink whole bottles of rum along by the deck or when you would hug and sleep together on cold nights.

Yep, a completly platonic friendship. Absolutely...

▪︎Ed couldn't be happier to introduce you to Stede. At first he is very tense around you due to your reputation but as soon as he sees that you're inoffensive, he chills a bit.

▪︎Stede admires you and wants to learn about everything you did and do as a pirate! Don't forget any detail, he'll watch you closely just like an excited kid, with those brown eyes shining brightly all through.

▪︎He also melts when he sees how close you and Ed are and how cute Ed looks when he's with you. He laughs wholeheartly, he smiles sweetly and his eyes light up when you're joking. It's very different from his relationship with Jack and he can see why.

▪︎But Stede doesn't feel jealous and loves having you around! The way you cheer up the crew, your funny anecdotes and stories that manage to make smile Izzy himself and your kind eyes whenever you listen to him talk... He is so dreamy about you lately that even Ed has to pinch his arm from time to time to bring him back to reality.

▪︎The funny part here is how both of them are developing feeling towards you and, somehow, they can only notice it in the other, not themselves.

▪︎So, eventually, when Ed starts talking about you dreamily, Stede confronts him.

"My God, Ed. It's obvious that you love that man, get over it!"

"What ya' mean it's obvious I love him? It's ya' the one who is all head over heels with him since he came!"

▪︎Ed is completely amazed by for fighting abilities. The way your face and behavior changes drastically as soon as you are face to face to your enemies... Enough to make his mouth drool. On the other hand, Stede has his heart beating loudly the moment he sees his two soulmates doing and absolute, bloody mess when you're doing a raid.

▪︎And don't let me get started when you get all flirty around them. Ed's knees turning jelly when you throw him compliments with zero shame or push behind his ear a loose hair strand, and a dark red blush creeping around Stede's face the moment you praise his clothes or behavior.

I know I said I was going to sleep but then I stayed up reading fanfiction and now I have a lot of feelings about fitting (my, lol) Anne Bonny into OFMD timelines and shit.

I know the show kind of implies Jack and Blackbeard go back to forever ago, but it also implies a building of a legendary character between Edward and Iz, so I feel like—possibly—they all three either sailed together or Edward met Iz shortly after Jack. (I feel like the scene where Jack very casually drops his affair on Stede was as built up as possible, including using the Blackbeard name, but I feel like their “dalliances” were before they were infamous…especially since Stede “Pirate Fanboy” Bonnet clearly had no interest in the Calico Jack.) I like to stick to that, especially because it means Edward and maybe even Iz would have known Anne personally.

I see Anne as Jack’s Iz: a quieter, more ruthless second in command who deals with their captain’s eccentricities more or less alone. The difference is that while there’s a very genuine connection between Iz and Edward, Anne serves out of pure duty. (And, in the very elaborate backstory I’ve begun to construct in my mind, Read convinces Anne they can do better than Jack, accounting for his solo arrival in the show.) Read was new enough to the crew when they left with Anne that aside from Jack, it’s possible people wouldn’t know who they are.

My take on Anne is kinda quiet and broody and that’s something I’d like to open up to better explore, and I think playing her as a mirror/foil to Iz is a good way to explore the dynamics of the pirate world.

(Selfishly, I really like to think that she and Iz are old friends—like college friends, the ones you used to go do keg stands with, who no matter where you run into them you always end up acting a little like you were back in the past. Maybe he’s no different, IDK, I only just started to really understand him as a character a few hours ago, but Anne would be more lively than she normally is. I like to think Jack and his bullshit ground her down and she’s never even noticed it. I like to think Read saw the spark in her but they’re still surprised whenever she gets to flare to life a little. It’s fun! I especially like this vibe I get that _every fucking time_ Iz and Anne bump into each other, she finds some fucking reason to fight him. Like just. Fists flying, little bit of blood, one of them loses the fight and Anne’s just tallying up the score.)

I’m likely to going to end up with several lore pages on here, just because this whole blog has got me really excited and happy to share!!! I’ve already developed my own little mainverse timeline and setup for Anne and Read and I’m fucking excited! Maybe I’ll try my hand at writing Izzy, later, too. Who knows.
