Considering WB is doing almost nothing to promote DC's Blue Beetle after three back-to-back-to-back box office failures, let this post be a reminder that Blue Beetle is just over a month away!! If you want to know why you should support this upcoming DC movie, here's why: • Blue Beetle is the first live action Latino superhero film • The film stars Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, Singer and Actress Becky G as the voice of the Scarab and George Lopez as Jaime's crazy uncle Rudy. • Blue Beetle is the first character in DC Studios' DCU timeline, as confirmed by DC Studios Co-Owner James Gunn • As stated above, Blue Beetle is part of the DCU world filled with superheroes. However, and thankfully, the past DCEU films are not relevant at all to Blue Beetle -- as confirmed by the movie's director Angel Manuel Soto. • Blue Beetle was made as "the first act of a saga" and is currently planned to have a trilogy, assuming the first film does well. • The Hollywood Reporter's sources believe that if Blue Beetle does do well and if it ends up getting a positive reception, Xolo Mariduena's Blue Beetle can end up appearing in the upcoming Booster Gold show. Support DC's Blue Beetle, y'all.

For the last several weeks, I've gotten to witness what may be the most positive thing I've ever seen the DC fandom do.
To not let Blue Beetle become forgotten or ignored, a group of Twitter users got together and unironically formed what is now known as "The Blue Beetle Battalion". If you didn't know about this the "Blue Beetle Battalion" grew to become a genuinely positive group of folks who had one intention: to positively promote Blue Beetle as much as possible because Warner Bros/DC Studios couldn't do so.
To most people's shock, that group grew to become a massive amount of people across Twitter to the point where even the cast of Blue Beetle became aware of its existence and started to push the #BlueBeetleBattalion hashtag to higher levels than we ever thought it'd reach. We'd spam gifs, tell people why they should support it, push all the positive stories surrounding Blue Beetle and even hype up all of the new posters that would drop. The best part is that along the way, a lot of people grew to become friends or at least aware of each other's existence and social media profiles as we'd joke around as we continued to push Blue Beetle across social media. At most, it was gonna be a funny joke to look back on where we'd all think "Man it sucks it didn't work out but at least we tried" but here we are today, having our efforts and love for Blue Beetle, Xolo Mariduena and the cast of Blue Beetle vindicated.
At the time of this post, Blue Beetle has gone against all the odds and currently sits at an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes! The highest DC film score since The Batman, can you believe it!?
As I said in so many of my other Blue Beetle posts, please support this film. Please go out and watch Blue Beetle with your friends and family. As the first live-action Latino superhero film, the representation that it's bringing is such a warm welcome and no matter what people say, we need more superhero projects that represent massive cultures to have amazing lighthearted success stories now more than ever. Let Blue Beetle be the beginning of this amazing trend of these incredibly important films overcoming all of the odds no matter how many people choose to immediately write it off.
Blue Beetle releases Aug 18 in theaters across the world y'all

How we got here, I don't know, but the DC Fandom on Twitter has taken it upon themselves to market DC's Blue Beetle for Warner Bros since they're not doing a damn thing for the movie and it has become legitimately hilarious. The memes have gotten so big, so ridiculous and so hilarious that Xolo Mariduena himself, yes the star of Blue Beetle who's playing Jaime Reyes, is now aware of DC fans taking it upon themselves to market Blue Beetle. Keep it going, Blue Beetle fam. This shit is hilarious.

I know I'm not the only one that would buy an Official Gotham Law Hoodie from the DC Shop, right? Like, we're all in agreement that DC needs to make official Gotham Law hoodies inspired by the one shown in Blue Beetle ASAP...right?

Just a reminder that DC's upcoming Blue Beetle movie has arguably one of the best superhero suit up scenes, and superhero suits, we've seen in a long ass time.
And in case you forgot, Blue Beetle releases August 18 worldwide.

Art style aside, considering it's definitely an acquired taste, Batman & Superman: Battle of the Super-Sons was such an enjoyable lighthearted movie. I really hope that we continue to see more short movies with entertaining and heartful adventures from DC Studios going forward.

Words can't describe how much I miss the Reyes Family from Blue Beetle. I've watched nearly every single superhero movie DC and Marvel have put out over the years and yet, not a single supporting cast in any of these superhero movies has resonated like the Reyes Family. DC or Angel Manuel Soto truly killed it not only with the casting of each Reyes Family but the writing for them as well. The Reyes Family truly felt like the most beautifully human characters ever thrown into a superhero's origin story and it's amazing just how memorable each member is. From Uncle Rudy to Milagro to Jaime himself, they each stood out for different reasons and I'd do almost anything to see them again in the next Blue Beetle-related DCU project.

I can't emphasize this enough if we want more movies like Blue Beetle or more shows like Ms. Marvel that represent massive cultures to continuously be created for this genre of entertainment, the superhero fandom needs to step up now more than ever. Support Blue Beetle, support The Marvels, and support whatever projects continue to come our way in this amazing and very entertaining genre of entertainment. We need to be better and we need to do better so young kids who are Hispanic or from any other massive culture across this gigantic world, can fall in love with the superhero genre because they see themselves in a character like Blue Beetle.

DC's Blue Beetle has officially debuted with a 94%(!!!) audience score on Rotten Tomatoes!
As I said in so many other posts: Please go out and watch Blue Beetle with your friends and family. And if that's not a good enough reason, here's multiple reasons why you should join the Blue Beetle Battalion by watching Blue Beetle in theaters:
Blue Beetle is the first live action Latino superhero film.
The film stars Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, Singer and Actress Becky G as the voice of the Scarab and George Lopez as Jaime's crazy uncle Rudy.
Blue Beetle is the first character in DC Studios' DCU timeline, as confirmed by DC Studios Co-Owner James Gunn
Blue Beetle was made as "the first act of a saga" and is currently planned to have a trilogy, assuming the first film does well.
Blue Beetle's Director, Angel Manuel Soto, prioritized real locations and practical effects for Blue Beetle, stating VFX is "a tool, not a dependency."
Blue Beetle's Director also didn't overwork the movie's VFX workers, which is a very common problem in the movie industry, stating "We didn't want to exploit the VFX artists as much as they have already been exploited. And using real locations allowed us to have better integration of the practical suits, so the VFX serve as an enhancement. It's a tool, not a dependency, and that really helped to make this whole thing feel bigger than life. We shot the third act in a real 500-year-old fortress in Puerto Rico. The communities depicted weren't a set. We went to the barrios of Puerto Rico and shot there. A lot of the people in the background are people from that community. So being able to make the film as lived in as possible felt worthy of the big screen experience."
Blue Beetle's Director also supports the ongoing strike and had this to say about the entire cast of Blue Beetle striking throughout its press run: "I do believe that the strike needed to happen. I wish it happened after the release of our movie, but at the end of the day, there's no better time than now. So, having them actually sacrifice this opportunity to be on the picket line and to fight for a better future — not only for them, but also to secure something better for future generations to come — is a heroic act of its own. So I'm celebrating them through their sacrifice in this moment, while also honoring the amazing work that they did. Representing them gives me the energy to continue doing this."
There is a genuine possibility that Xolo Mariduena's Blue Beetle can end up appearing in the upcoming Booster Gold show.
Blue Beetle is out NOW in Theaters!

The Blue Beetle fanbase showed out today, man. Today's new trailer reached 1.5M views in 8 hours and if you ask me, those numbers are pretty damn good for a movie so many people began to write off because the first trailer seemed to generic or for whatever other arbitrary reason. I truly hope that the tickets sales, whenever they go on sale that is, end up reflecting these interest levels because this movie clearly has so much heart poured into it. And if there is any DC movie in the last several years that has earned this much love, attention and push for success, it's absolutely Blue Beetle. As I've said so many times, it's done nothing to take away from the other DCEU films. It's done nothing to try and ruin previously completed arcs for old DCEU castings. It's truly trying to do its own thing while lovingly inviting people into a culture they may not be too familiar with and trying to put out some positive representation for folks who share that same heritage. Here's to hoping that Xolo and the Blue Beetle crew get a pretty damn good win with Blue Beetle review wise and box office numbers wise.

Continuing my ongoing effort to help push DC's Blue Beetle as we get closer to its release date, DC isn't pushing it across other social media platforms, it's been revealed that an officially licensed Blue Beetle Scarab magnetic pin is being exclusively sold by GameStop! Here's some more details: At an impressive 12cm (4.72”) tall, this is perfect to wear as a bold fashion statement or cosplay centerpiece, or displayed in the collector’s quality box. Only 8,000 units of this pin are being sold.

Since Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is arguably the best superhero movie ever made and takes place during the Holiday Season / Winter Time, does that also technically make Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse the best Christmas movie ever made as well?

For no particular reason, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods came to mind today and I'm not even gonna lie, the lack of Asher Angel in that film still pisses me off to this very day. I don't know whose idea it was to not make Asher Angel a massive focus in that film after his amazing arc in Shazam, but it was a terrible decision and it still shows after all this time considering it's one of the few major issues that immediately stand out when you look back on Shazam!: Fury of the Gods.
Asher basically was the glue of the first Shazam film considering how great he was as Billy Batson. He was legitimately able to bring out the best in so many characters throughout the first Shazam movie. Plus, I think it's also due to his amazing dynamic with Jack Dylan Grazier (Freddie Freeman) -- which I consider to be the heart and soul of Shazam. It's so frustrating because it was one hell of an avoidable mistake and could've easily allowed the Shazamily to continue forward in the DCU but there's absolutely going to be some sort of changes, considering the massive negative reception Shazam 2 had. What those changes are remains to be seen, obviously.
(spoiler alert, I guess?) There's zero chance that Gunn doesn't immediately address it, considering Shazam was recruited to the JSA in the post-credit scenes by the Peacemaker cast. However, there are definitely gonna be changes with that since Gunn has already confirmed that Peacemaker is affected by The Flash story-wise. So, if there was a change I'd like to see with Shazam and his family going forward in the DCU it's that I want Asher Angel to replace Zachary Levi entirely.
In Shazam 1, Billy Batson was a standout character despite Asher's young age. In Shazam 2, Asher still shined in his very brief moments, like the final moment of Billy saying he loves his mom before the big final fight. So, in my opinion, Asher can easily play Billy Batson in both forms in the DCU like Grace Caroline Currey did with Mary Marvel throughout FOTG. That may be an unpopular opinion and that may be a terrible take due to how marketing works, but after the lack of Asher being a key flaw of Shazam 2 and seeing how bad Zachary Levi was in Shazam 2, I'd take that as a solution any day of the week.

Shazam! will always be my favorite DCEU movie. The way Shazam! uses the overarching Christmas theme to uplift the family aspect of it's story (which is the heart of it's story) is so incredibly heartwarming. What an amazing movie.
