i see people thinking that the side story is the bad ending for kim dokja. and don't get me wrong, he doesn't come back after the door opens, but that is because kimcom CHOSE that.
they had the option to open a door where kim dokja woke up, but they chose to go through the door where he doesn't wake up because they know that first door is a trap (like 49/51), and they want all of kim dokja. and when they go through, kim dokja is gone, but he's left a note. he is STILL OUT THERE (and part of him is with lhh right now. it's complicated)
anyway this is just to say KIM DOKJA IS BACK IN THE SIDE STORY. he is just not with kimcom *yet*. i need to make this clear because i keep seeing people saying things that sound like people think he's gone for real in the side story.

I have a question about your OC, Joan. Judging by how Ratau and Ratoo were part of her cult I assume she was the previous bearer of the Red Crown, with Ratau being the next vessel after her. So how did Joan’s reign end? What was her downfall seeing that she’s more of a villain?
There are two reasons.
One was her own ambition. Joan's goal was to eradicate the Old Faith's devotion from the lands, making the bishops vulnerable and easy to kill. In other words, a big crusade.
Tumblr media
She created an army of crusaders to take over the Old Faith's temples. She did it with Leshy's, but she couldn't finish her quest. Shamura frustated all her plans by turning more than the half of her army against her... and killed in the process.
Tumblr media
Although Joan came back to life and TOWW had commanded her to retire and protect his temple, she finally refused and pulled the Red Crown out of her head.
At that moment she realized why she wouldn't taste victory anyways, the second reason of her downfall: the prophecy. She always thought of it as a false hope, a tool from the bishops even. The only "truth" she believed was that she was chosen by a god and nothing could stop her.
She went alone to fight Shamura for revenge. She knew she wouldn't make it, but she would die the way she wanted to.

Orikero blast attack!!! These fellas have been rattling around in my head for a couple months now. Lore stuff under the cut <3
It’s mentioned once or twice in the series that the planet Keron’s weather is controlled via satellite. I like to think the weather conditioning satellite (WCS) is less like an unmanned satellite and more like a space station, with crew both on the planet’s surface and aboard the satellite - constantly working to keep the installation up and running.
A weather satellite might seem like a huge deal to humans, but to Keron’s general public it’s regarded with about as much reverence as a power plant or water treatment center. It’s just a municipal service to them, and one they seriously take for granted! You can take tours of the satellite sorta like how one can tour money mints or chocolate factories here on earth. There’s a gift shop!
Rotada is the highest-ranking non-military crew member of the WCS, holding the position of head engineer. The WCS is her pride and joy, and even if she isn’t the station’s official captain, she’s pretty much the de-facto second in command. Often butts heads with the actual captain (Neneki) about what’s best for the WCS and its crew.
Kind, but not nice.
She knows just about everything that goes on around here.
Before working on the WCS, she was an engineer for an aerospace company.
Rocheche is one of the WCS’s many onboard scientists. He’s specifically in quality control - keeping an eye on the station's near-constant stream of data to ensure the planet’s artificial weather patterns are flowing smoothly.
The new guy.
Developing a caffeine addiction as we speak.
Fresh out of college and fought tooth and nail to get this job. "Per my last email" is his most often typed sentence this year!
Neneki is the WCS's captain and a warrant officer in the Keronian army. He'd been assigned to the satellite as punishment after being demoted from the rank of second lieutenant, but he's actually been enjoying himself immensely. He's not sure what to think about Rotada, and sometimes clashes with her if he feels she’s undermining his authority too much.
Easy-going. To a point...
Misses his wife. When's his next shore leave coming up???
Before being sent to the WCS, he served as an ambassador / negotiator for the Keronian Empire.
Neneki might’ve only gone down one military rank when he got demoted, but he essentially is a former diplomat sent to manage a municipal / scientific facility. Considering how much importance Keron assigns to military jobs… they did him dirty. At least he's having fun?
Junii is a tour guide, as well as a member of the satellite's PR team.
Chipper and friendly, shes pretty good at keeping kids entertained. Probably because she herself is easily amused.
Double-faced like a Janus cat. She is able to talk with both mouths at once, but since shes only got one set of lungs she runs out of air faster. She usually only does this as a party trick.
i quite literally just realized she looks like beta-design tamama. someone come and kill me right the fuck now

Had an AU based on a dream I had, which was kind of a crossover between TOH and Princess Tutu (lol), basically a ballet magic boarding school where Belos was the principal. Having more ideas but not enough time to draw or write them all. I do have Luz and Hunter designs I made right after having that dream (they were the protagonists of my dream)

Answering a batch of these anons at once and under the break because I don't want this blog to be a pit of negativity.
Also, as a reminder: any bashing in my inbox will be ignored and continuous bashing will get you blocked. Be kind to others within the fandom. We can all have different preferences without being assholes to one another ty ty.
If you like that Space Frog/(ex-)Sharran ship, it's probably good to skip this. Also, what people ship has no impact on how I think of them so we're probably still cool unless you give me a reason to think otherwise lol.
Tumblr media
It's very difficult to love both characters, exist in this fandom, and try to explain to other folks that, no, I don't see it lol. I've had to do it like 12 times now. It's fascinating.
I tried to read some fics to understand the hype. The toxic thing is part of the enjoyment, but they get past the murder attempt so fast and turn pretty quickly to respecting each other so it never even gave me toxic ship vibes. Just two ladies going, "good for her!"
So then I try to approach it from a more wholesome angle. Or a redemptive angle. Oh well. Not everything can be for everyone! I'm certain there's plenty of shippers in the fandom that can't stand my interpretations, so I'm not going to try and take a moral high ground on this. Just different tastes.
Also, a ship doesn't need to have any canon basis to be shipped, but maybe I'm too used to genuinely awful toxicity in toxic ships.
Plus there's no real "canon" in BG3 other than what exists in each of our playthroughs, so it's all moot anyways.
Tumblr media
That's pretty much where I stand on it anon, so you've got me in your corner on that as well.
In my playthroughs, their banter when I had them together was always very neutral in any sort of romantic light. Again, a ship doesn't need canon basis to be a ship, but it really does come from that one scene. And that hatchet gets buried almost instantly.
So I just never got it. Maybe it was more of a thing in Early Access? But I like to consider stories when they're finished in totality rather than from the morsels EA gave people.
Tumblr media
And I love that for you!
She has a fucking lich-queen to murder.

finally found a place to read With the Light online and i'm thrilled; if you haven't read this manga i do Legitimately recommend it
#N posts stuff#like don't get it wrong it Is Not a series about being autistic it Is a series about raising an autistic kid#but also don't be put off by that because it's legitimately a series that I feel Loves autistic people with its whole being#it's kind of a teaching manga so it showcases a lot of different opinions/characters/conflicts/etc. but the Framing is very consistent#in that the manga is Extremely of the opinion that autistic people are People who deserve to be Valued and Accepted As They Are#the onus for change is never put on autistic individuals the framing is basically Universal in the 'the World needs to change#to be more accepting' -- it's a very Social Model depiction of autism that ALSO never veers too far into the#'autism isn't even Really a disability' fallacy; it's very much a 'A lot of autistic people will need constant support in a variety of ways#throughout their lives but that isn't the roadblock preventing them from having their own lives; ableism in society is the roadblock'#the first two chapters are the hardest to get through bc they take place before Sachiko has any real understanding of autism and#so she's isolated and stressed out and the ignorance makes it difficult for her to care for Hikaru properly (there's also a lot of#other characters Blaming her for what's going on which goes unchallenged at this point though that changes later); but after she#understands what autism is she's Firmly in Hikaru's corner for the rest of the series - you can skip right to ch 3 without a problem#if you're not interested in reading about that initial conflict#there's still a Lot of conflict ofc but by then the chapters have some of my favorite moments so i don't want to advocate skipping#them; like Hikaru's daycare teacher explaining how Hikaru's difficulty speaking is the same as other kids' troubles with#things like jump-roping/etc.; and then a mother who has An Issue with Hikaru's presence in her daughter's class realizing the#depth of the problematic opinion bc Her mother (who had a stroke) faces similar ableism from her peers#i'm cutting this post off b4 the tags get Too long but if you're curious but still hesitant man. send me an ask and i will Happily#write an insanely long essay about how much i love this series; i have all the books i'm not excited about the online availability#for Me i'm excited bc i've been wanting to rec this manga for like almost a full decade and i can finally give you a link instead of#saying 'well. you can find used copies sometimes' lol

Kinda weird question- do you have any links to people talking about Mira from ZTD and ableist stereotypes? I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with her portrayal but kinda fumbled it and made some other ND people in chat uncomfortable. I searched for various keyword combinations but most of what I'm finding is like "and not to mention the ableism with Mira" and doesn't elaborate lol.
Not weird at all! And uh, you see, there's a recent post I made where what I complain about is the very fact I've never seen anyone post too in-depth about her at all, I'd love to see posts that do elaborate on that but I do not have any that I know of right now, sorry :/ hopefully someone else who sees this can point to one? Okay!! After some tag searches I have found exactly one post who kind of gets into it I like this take still would love to see. more than just one but hooray
And like though I complain I couldn't elaborate much on it myself I don't think, I believe most of the posts people make about Saito from aitsf would apply since it's a different uchikoshi take on the very same trope of "emotionless characters who cannot function without killing others" I guess he's a worse portrayal though since she's at least not stated to get reward brain chemicals when killing people and I guess her case also has the added layer of "femme fatale" to it? Which either makes it less bad or worse depending on where you approach it from As I said I am not doing a good job of being coherent on this oh and also there's her being "redeemed" and "cured" in the epilogue which in on itself is kinda not great to imply it just goes away like that and honestly I personally don't even buy it I think she'd just be like oh okay Akane over here has like a thousand reasons to hate me after all that oh and what's that she's the leader of a super wealthy underground organization who's organized one of these death traps before yeah no I'm better off going to prison I'll be fine there lmao bye
But I'll say as an autistic person with relatively low empathy I usually see a character who just doesn't understand other people's feelings and wants to feel them too and is just trying to survive despite getting no help and I just kinda go hm. yeah. shout-out to roxas kingdom hearts shout out to mary from ib shout out that's why I started hyperfixating on media art helps me with understanding others a great lot and Mira is just in a story too badly executed for me to care or even begin to wrap my head around tbh like god she's so fucking terribly used as a plot device in every conceivable way that it makes it difficult to see past it and into what she could possibly be if it weren't for the stereotype of equalling low empathy with no compassion what's with her killing off screen in ways that wildly deviate from her stated m.o? why or how was she even in cahoots with Zero why was that a thing? Honestly her dynamic with Sean could have been better fleshed out could have done something interesting about robot child and his aspd big sis but we just kind of don't get any attention brought to the subject of emotions and the authenticity there of except for the "reveal"...
YOU KNOW WHAT that's probably one huge reason it feels so fucked up actually! Like the whole fucking game is written so you could experience it in whatever order you want and therefore Mira being a serial killer at all is something that though not very well hidden it also cannot be a topic of discussion or explored Ever ever because the player may not have seen the fragment where that is revealed yet- problem being the menu design of that game sucks so bad and practically everyone gravitates towards the same few more interesting looking thumbnails first and then the rest is kinda just there, I mean that is part of the reason A Lot of characters feel half-baked I think but also I think it definitely does impact perception of her character specifically probably The Most and then there's just the general not being given nuance not being able to see the minutiae of how that disorder manifests in her character aside from the killings about how she acts aside from being overly flirty trying to lure in Eric but that affects pretty much all of the new cast we don't have last names and in her case we barely have any backstory at all like Saito is a harmful stereotype sure but we get So Much Context for him that people still love talking about him and delving into different aspects of his life since we have that very well telegraphed in the narrative meanwhile for Mira all we can do is fill in the blanks guesswork that only highlights the worst aspects of the surface level portrayal we got and ultimately that people just don't care enough to dissect because there isn't much there character wise once you remove it

johnny was super easy bc of course he’d be a diesel! definitely a freight engine, he’s too rowdy to work with passengers. i think the rest of the jang would be his freight! forge’s design also works super well with this imo! it was fun to pull the furnace aspect from him :)
max was pretty tricky actually,,he honestly gives me major coach vibes but in this universe spectrals = engines so i went with a streetcar! that gives you the best of both worlds. i think the dual-power aspect works really well, plus him mostly being electricity-powered means he still has magnetism powers! the trolley pole also works great as a stand-in for his bat. i wanted to incorporate a bit more of scrapdragon but i was struggling bc it is j. it is jsut a large angry worm i don’t have anything to work with here. the makeup invokes the eyes though!

Heya! I really appreciate how manage to get each fanfic you write to really carry the voice of the character youre writing about! Like how in the lucifer/angel fic a lot of the text is packed with lucis inner monologue compared to how much dialogue goes on, really gets to how lucifer is really in his own head, and just from the words you use and how you write a reader can see a lot of that inner monologue consists of overthinking and all his other little quirks hes gained from so much isolation and rejection over the years.
When I thought about it, compared to the vox/alastor fic you wrote, its much more dialogue, and a lot of the internal thoughts and text is more observations about vox (some of them sarcastic, others analyzing things like vox's body language) and amusing descriptions of the situation.
Im just wondering, do you plot all these details in your head, or do you jot them down on paper? IMO it seems like in general some fanfics struggle with keeping the character's voice when describing things outside of the dialogue ,and tend to sound like its being narrated/observed by the writer, rather than a look inside how the character thinks/talks. It can be a tricky thing to really get a characters voice down TBH
Thank you VERY much! You've basically just gone and told me, "Hey, you know that thing that you really enjoy doing and is important to you? Yeah, that's great!" hahaha, so please know that this message is greatly appreciated. I LOVE.
I am a huge outliner for every single fic I write, except the occasional single-scene NSFW oneshots that kinda write themselves! But character voice is usually actually not heavily involved in that outline, haha.
I think for my first Proper Fic (TM) on AO3, The Sword of Damocles is Swinging, which was a 60k word character study of Hawks from My Hero Academia, I did do a lot of outlining regarding his characterization and how I wanted to portray that because I felt like if I didn't write all of it down then I wouldn't be able to wrap my head around him. But this type of thing has very quickly become a matter of "code-switching" into a character's head for me, basically. Characterization has always been really important to me, and I remember back when I was in my "1k words is an accomplishment I'm genuinely very proud of" stage of writing, it was the thing that made me the most nervous, because I was afraid of not being able to write characters that felt like themselves.
What actually really helped with this is that I spent like 4 years doing Homestuck fantroll OC roleplay, haha. It was the perfect combination of "these are my characters so I automatically know all there is about them" + "but they are their own distinct characters with different personalities and inner voices, so it's still great practice," and then ofc roleplay being a very rewarding, collaborative, and social activity as well that gets posted in smaller, easier-to-write chunks than an entire fanfic.
For the Hazbin characters, I mostly rewatched some of their big scenes (like most of the Angel episode, or Lucifer's intro) for a reminder and a point of reference, paying particular attention to their body language, the intended vibe of how they're portrayed, and the way they talk, but it's less note-taking and more like that moment before a choir starts singing where the teacher blows a whistle to remind them where that note is, haha.
Anyway, basically, we're all reaping the rewards of me being a long-term roleplayer who's really into writing in third-person limited rather than omniscient. 🤭
An example of one of my actual outlines below the cut if you're still interested! It's chapter one from Happily Ever After, and Other Shit Nepotism Can't Buy because I am Not sharing my nsfw outlines, HAH:
Tumblr media
As you can see, some moments are quoted almost directly bc I thought of neat lines while outlining, while others are fairly loosely outlined because I know it's going to be easy to write once I get there and I'm not accidentally already writing it in my brain. Sometimes large chunks of scenes write themselves, like the entire ending to this fic:

whats your process on adding paper/grainy textures to your drawings they look soooooo good
HI so i don't have a super concise process for adding paper textures, i usually just experiment with layers until i get something i like. hold on im putting this in a read more bc im shy
generally though what i do is take one of the paper stock images i have saved and lay it over my drawings + set that to a blending mode. i might do this 2-3 times depending on how grainy i want it. i might also rotate or scale these layers to create more grain.
and/or i might throw the paper in the background underneath the lineart/color layers, and set those layers to a blending mode.
i think the brushes i use are pretty helpful too in replicating analog art. most of my fave brushes that i use all the time are the free ones i got from true grit supply and retro supply co.
here's what all of this looks like in action:
Tumblr media
i will say that more recently i've just been using paper textures that came with brushes i bought from true grit, i like em because its basically this ^ but its all set up for you.
that said i think it'd be really easy to set up a canvas like this for yourself to use, the only reason i haven't is because umm. i like to make things odd and difficult for myself.
i hope that answers your question tho! :]

“First of all, you’re correct I’m simply an eevee. Subspecies still means I’m not a hybrid. Though I don’t know what you mean by ‘abnormal’ so I don’t know if subspecies falls in that category.
I’ve been training regularly for years and have leveled to a decent point for a wild mon. I still plan to get stronger but for the last year I’ve been really focusing on evolution. I don’t have a fairy move, nor have I touched any stones because I don’t want to evolve that way. Umbreon would be a risk as I train, but I make sure to avoid fights after dark.
So despite doing my best to avoid a *wrong* evolution, I can’t seem to trigger the right one no matter what. I even make sure to train away from Theo, just incase somehow his everstone is effecting me. Though those things only work when you carry them with you.
Oh, and before you ask I know Pillar Eevees are capable of Umbreon and Espeon forms. My dad’s an umbreon. This just seems to be a ‘me’ issue.”

You’re so based for liking Rammstein!
Can you understand the lyrics from Finnish and German sounding similar enough or do you look up translations?
sdjkflhgkjgf I think you're thinking of Swedish? or some other Scandinavian language? I know it's confusing because we're culturally pretty close to the Scandinavians (because we were under Swedish rule for like 500 years) but Finnish is a Uralic language
I just had a Rammstein phase when I was a teenager, and also took German in highschool at the same time (it was a happy accident actually, I chose to take German before I got into Rammstein).
.... But also yes I do look up translations because I don't actually trust my three years of highschool German that much lmao

Wait but if Shiro can only manipulate earth metals how does that help him fight the druids and Lotor's generals? Does he use the metal of his arm, did he just happen to have a bunch of metal on him (not part of his arm) when they left for space, or ?
Well see, this AU takes place entirely on Earth, not in space. It's an AU in which (most of) the cast is some kind of supernatural creature, revolving around a mysterious rift that's resulted in multiple disappearances, including (briefly) Shiro's own and the witch Haggar, who seeks to use its power for nefarious purposes.
(aliens are still involved though. keith is still part alien, because there's something deeply funny about him being surrounded by literal supernatural creatures and still being the cryptid of the bunch when he's supposed to be "human")
You can check up on its tag to get more information about it!
