You're absolutely right that story wise for now there's no reason for Buck and Tommy to break up. They for now was only on two dates(and we will not see the time skip to wedding I guess but still I believe it's several week after coffee date so we also can add some more dates+ wedding) and they are absolutely smitten with each other and want to try to know each other. Tim, Lou and if I'm not mistaken Oliver all said they want romcom and I can't see them break even at the end of the season,but I can see them taken more serious step as calling each other boyfriends. Oliver also said there's gonna be more kisses and Buck initiate some of them, so Buck definitely feels more confident in his relationship and I can see him only trying to make them deeper and more meaningful, but not "clinging" because he's scared to be alone, but because he really likes Tommy

When they didn't want someone for long, Ali for example, they barely gave us anything about the character. We literally just knew that where she works, that she was dying her hair blonde for a lot of time and that's all. About Ana, who stayed for pretty longer, we jts knew her work, that she has sister(right before break up) and that's all. Even Taylor had backstory only in 5s when I guess they tried to make Bucktaylor work.

About Tommy we already know some things from begins episodes and that's btw makes everything easier. Tim said that they chose Tommy because he was already existed in the universe, they don't need to create new person, but they made Tommy deeper. We literally had Tommy in 6 episodes (in one barely) and we already know more about him we know about Tailor who was around for 1,5 seasons. They showed us where he works, said that he was in the army(in begins it never mentioned), made his story we saw in begins deeper with saying "yeah, he was in closet.", told us about his interests like Muay Thai, cars, basketball, we know he's a movie fan like Chim (begins). We know he loves Love,actually and craft beer. They made him Eddie's new friend. Also they let Lou to share his ideas how he sees Tommy (hard unstable childhood) which I'm sure wasn't for nothing. I see them making Tommy the character on the Karen's level at least .The LI of the main character, who is regular with enough backstory to make them interesting and lovable to the audience, but no need to make them main. Also Tommy's job allows him to make appearance any time they want. And his friendship with Eddie, Chim and Hen too. So he doesn't need to be just "Buck's boyfriend". Tommy has way better treatment any gf of Buck or Eddie had and we have him as a LI for only 3 episodes. Imagine what they can do till the end of the season and during next one? Make him loveable LI who is not plot device, but also no need to make him main. And as Tommy not in 118, 911 don't even have to go through standard plot of "oh, we are working together and it's gonna be a lot of drama about it". Too old

oof, tbh i’ve written too much, i don’t even know where to start with a rec 😭 i guess the ones i really like and come to mind instantly are:

1. amortentia (its for hp, not sure if you’re into it, but it’s very dark and still in the process of being rewritten in parts)

2. time to pretend (also for hp, but it’s more of a comedy and a SLOW work in progress)

3. myso (soc media au, the written parts remind me of twny tbh. it’s crack & the mc is a chrollo stan so...)

i feel like these 3 show wildly different writing styles and themes, so ur bound to like something. honestly, if u see anything ur curious abt in the mlist or a fandom ur apart of, check it out!

sam - asks you if you’re drunk and when mc is like ‘noooo 😏’. sam just laughs and holds on to the information. in the morning when mc is looking through their messages and is like ‘omg what did i do last night’ and all they can see is this long winded text message proclaiming their devotion. they literally want to disappear but sam is probably the best one for this to happen to. because you can totally argue that it was a joke and they’d believe you. if it’s serious and you tell them, sam is all like ‘i knew you loved me 😏’. no matter what, you can come out with a intact relationship.

ali - it’s awkward…. literally leaves you on read. this is not because they hate you or anything but ali is like … are they fr…..??? or is this some weird joke because that’s not funny ? you’d definitely have to confess what happened and then ali would be all flushed, giggly (inside) and flattered. worst thing to do would be to say it was joke… ali doesn’t rlly play like that and would most likely distance themselves.

frankie - assumes you’re joking immediately unlike sam. sam is like ‘obviously u like me. drunk words r sober thoughts bae 😍🫶🏽’ but frankie is just like mc is real funny 😂 u’d probably have to take them out and sit them down and be like … frankie ily… like ROMANTIC… like romeo and juliet (use a better example but im lazy). best one to do it with after sam.

max - is like ‘mc?’ and when mc is like ‘max baby boo i wanna be ur bae’. max switches off their phone and immediately ignores it. won’t even bring it up or treat you different at all. so lowkey a good thing?? even if you attempt to bring it up they’ll change the subject so probably not the best way to approach the idea of dating 😭 btw they wouldn’t hate u or anything they’re just really awkward and talking abt that would make them wanna d word :D

Mer-ily we roll along

Having discovered Mermaid High, of course I went over to browse AliExpress, home to all that's cheap and fascinating.

Then there's these.

While this is not my style (and I just within the past six months sold or donated all of my mother's Jun Planning-type dolls because it's really not my style)... wow. These are seriously impressive. These are mermaids who'll lure you to drown in the deep so they can eat your bones, and you'll thank them for it.

My expectation for Ali Express mermaids was more like these.

The light-up tail makes these fancier than the ones that hit Dollar Tree the minute the mermaid trend took off. These have the face and arms of the cheapest dollar-store fashion dolls.

This gal combines aquatic and aerial transportation.

She has a posse, who come in yellow, blue, and purple.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but it's happening with articulated elbows.

These look like they have glass eyes and rooted lashes (albeit some of the worst lash-rooting I've ever seen). They're kind of cute in a lost-souls way.

Then I got distracted because the same store still does Monster High clones, which also come in mer-form.

This is the Demon High I remember from days of yore! (a.k.a. 2014) The characters are almost recognizable, yet visibly "off," and then we throw in that second gal from the right, who logically must be Draculaura, but looks like some mundane accidentally got transferred in.

Finally, I have to wonder why I haven't seen this one in person anywhere. The price seems to be a little higher, but you get to participate in the "doll with little sister" and "doll with companion animal" trends.

This gal is labeled "blinding singing 1" on the site, which is so on-point that I hesitate to click on another. A closer look at the listing determines that the smaller doll is a ddung doll (Korean-style big head with big round eyes, small mouth; these show up in Asian gift stores), and there is also a sparkly pink life preserver. I'm declaring the pink dolphin to be an Amazon River Dolphin because I loved Invisible City.

If I were going to indulge in any of these -- which I'm not -- it'd be the maroon-haired gal from the line of nine mermaids, as those are on the clone version of the Barbie Fashionista body, plus they seem to have glass eyes.

this story was great...the way you wrote Aemond I felt like this was taken straight from the original books.You have talent...as much we like Aemond,he is not some prince Charming and Consequacnes really got into his character. I loved character of the maidservant..her and Aemond..total opposite ..but...I shipped them ,, sigh '' I wish in the universe of Consequacnes Aemond realize what he lost and if he was thinking less with his...🫠😞 what he has lost.. i’m only halfway-ish through the newest chapter and oh my god you’ve rendered me speechless. (and yet, here i am rambling 💀) i honestly am truly jealous of your talent and your ability to describe and encapsulate such raw emotion, especially considering the source material really just.. doesn’t like showing vulnerability like that? it’s honestly so beautiful i can’t even begin to let you know how touching it is.

there are so many things i absolutely have adored so far but there are two that i really want to talk about. first off, it seemed like such a small detail, but claudia welcoming back the hendersons and steve warmed my cold little heart. i loved that you actually included them returning home. it made it flow so well. ANDDD, oh my god. claudia including steve when she was all somber and said “my boys” :(( ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?

the other thing was i absolutely adored the undressing/shower scene between steve and the reader. i know a lot of writers on here would’ve taken the opportunity to weave some sort of smutty scene in there (which, is totally fine! i’m a slut as much as the next gal!) but i think because you acknowledge the fact that they’re just so tired and emotional means that they don’t even have the privilege to think such dirty thoughts made their relationship even more.. secure? real? endgame? to me.

anyways, i’m not even finished reading, but i really wanted to get my thoughts out there before i inevitably forget because your writing always makes my head go fuzzy with how intricate and wonderful it is.

i’m very excited for the finale whenever it arrives. keep up the great work!!

World Ain't Ready, a Les Mis high school fake dating AU, honestly one of my favorite things ever written, like ever.

live from new york, an Untamed AU where the main characters from the show are all working on Saturday Night Live. It's so funny, and soulful, and romantic, and zany.

Stargazer, a Yuri on Ice AU (I'm sorry I'm like this I swear I read other things besides AUs) where it's basically exactly like the show only it's in space and Victor is a prince. This is such a brilliant, tremendous fic, and it feels loving and hopeful and expansive and kind of melancholy, too, and I reread it like once a month.

Decree Nisi, a Magnus Archives fic where, uh. I'm not sure how to explain. The fic summary says: "Elias and Peter are divorcing again. In trying to decide the division of their marital property, they need some witnesses to assist their respective cases. This is unfortunate for Jon and Martin, who would really rather be elsewhere." This is.so bananas, and it made me cackle like a witch.

And feel-good 911 fic I have enjoyed lately:

hoping it gets to you. Ali Martin is getting married and Buck doesn't want to go to the wedding alone, so Eddie volunteers to go as his date. This is as bright and rich and sweet as lemon merengue.

good pretender. Buck and Ravi start a friends with benefits arrangement, and Eddie loses his entire mind about it. This fic is so kind, and everyone's arc is just wonderful.

you color me in, you spell me out. Chimney makes a bet that Buck and Eddie can't go a week without talking to each other outside of work, and Eddie lasts approximately five seconds before he's climbing the walls. This fic is so so so lovely.

you might as well swim. Buck and Eddie sort of accidentally have sex one night while Chris is away at camp, and Buck is the most casual person you ever met about it. God, I love them, they're so dumb. God, they love each other so much.

One Punch Man

English: One of the first ones I watched. I wouldn't have decided to watch it if I hadn't come across those short anime videos that were quite interesting. Like the one with the mosquito or when he did the physical test for heroes. The first season was really interesting, with him being too strong but also too dumb, so they classified him as a 'C' class hero. His disciple Genos tries to learn something from Saitama, while Saitama barely takes anything seriously. There are also some iconic moments, like when he realized during a fight that his discount at the store had expired, and he decided to finish off the enemy right then and there. The relationship between Saitama and Genos gives me more of a vibe of brothers rather than sensei-student. I also like that the strength of the characters is based on their danger level. If I remember correctly, there are 'Demon,' 'Dragon,' 'God,' and something else. I can't recall exactly what happened in each season, but I remember both of them being pretty good. Then, the other top heroes can't understand what's so special about Saitama because he has never been able to show it to others. The only ones who have seen his true power, if I recall correctly, are Bang and Genos. At the end of the second season, they supposedly fought against some giant caterpillar, and that's where it ended. I can't remember what happened to that Garou guy, whether he died or he's alive, I think he survived... Also, this was the first anime that gave me motivation, and I actually started exercising for a while. The third season is supposed to come out in the near future, and I'm interested to see how the story will continue. I've heard the manga is excellent too, so I can't wait.

Tipa onaj sa komarcem ili ono kad je radio fizički test za heroja. Prva sezona je bila baš zanimljiva, to što je bio previše jak, ali i previše glup, pa su ga klasificirali kao 'C' heroja. Onaj njegov učenik Dženos koji pokušava da nauči nešto od Saitame, dok Saitama jedva nešto shvata ozbiljno. Tu su i još neki ikonični momenti, kao kad je tokom borbe shvatio da je istekao popust u prodavnici, i onda odlučio da iste sekunde dovrši neprijatelja. Odnos između Saitame i Dženosa mi više daje vajb kao da su braća a ne sensei-učenik. Sviđa mi se i to što se jačina likova bazira na njihovom nivou opasnosti. Ako se dobro sećam, ima 'Demon,' 'Zmaj,' 'Bog' i još nešto. Ne mogu da se setim šta je tačno bilo u kojoj sezoni, ali se sećam da su mi obe bile prilično dobre. Onda, ostali veći heroji ne mogu da shvate šta ja to posebno kod Saitame, jer nikad nije uspeo to da pokaže ostalima. Jedini koji su videli njegovu pravu snagu su, ako se dobro sećam, Bang i Dženos. Na kraju druge sezone su se valjda borili sa nekom gigantskom gusenicom, i tamo se završilo. Ne sećam se šta je bilo sa onim Garom, da l' je umro ili je živ, mislim da je preživeo... Takođe, ovo je bio prvi anime koji mi je dao motivaciju, i tako sam jedno vreme zaista krenuo da vežbam. Tony’s thought about telling him that some of the backgrounds they use are realistic paintings—the director told him as much at some stupid event his dad made him go to—but he likes to let him speculate, sometimes, because Rhodey’s tangents about the things he’s interested in are rare but passionate when they get going.

Tony could listen to Rhodey talk, could watch his eyes glitter and hands gesture in circles like he always does when he gets carried away, for hours, and really, that should’ve clued him in long beforehand.

But it didn’t.

(As Rhodey would say, Tony’s both the smartest person he knows and dumb as a box of rocks. For his part, Tony appreciates the honesty.)

So they have a few beers each at their apartment—just enough to get tipsy, to make the room a little warm, to make their conversations about nothing and everything stretch long, like taffy, into the frosty night—and Tony says they should do something.

Rhodey shakes his head. “Kappa Sigma hasn’t gotten a new—”

“Toaster, I know, but it’s the weekend, and finals week is coming up, and then you’ll be stressed, and I’ll be stressed because you’re stressed, and neither of us will really feel like going out.” Tony takes a swig of his beer. He swindled the twelve-pack out of a douche from his microeconomics class trying to suck up to him, and it’s a Coors—not Tony’s favorite, but it gets the job done. “I don’t want to sit around all night and waste our time before then.”

Rhodey raises a brow consideringly. “Fair.” His eyes slide to Tony, on the other side of the couch from him so that Rhodey can use his lap as a footrest. “What were you thinking?”

And while Tony has ideas, like breaking into the zoo (hence the nickname platypus) or seeing how many packets of candy they can shoplift from the corner store with the sleazy owner (hence the nickname sour patch) again, Rhodey shoots those down, unfortunately.

“I can’t study as well when I’m worried about a court date,” he declines with a sigh of disappointment because, whether Rhodey will readily admit it or not, the shit Tony thinks of, while illegal, is fun.

In the end, Tony can’t come up with anything else, so Rhodey chooses. Ergo, the movies.

They’re both still a little buzzed, and the extra-buttery popcorn—Tony’s request, though Rhodey says the sogginess is gross—they share leaves kernels between their teeth that they pick out shamelessly, alone in the theater and not in the habit of being embarrassed besides.

It’s not the first movie they’ve gone to together, certainly isn’t the last, and it’s not even the best time they’ve had at the theater. However, as they sit, Tony drifting off here and there as he puts the armrest between them up to rest his head on Rhodey’s shoulder, it strikes Tony that there’s nowhere else he’d rather be.

The realization alone is enough to make Tony melt into his sweater, more content than he ever imagined possible growing up in a house where he stayed perched on his tiptoes in case he needed to take flight.

Tony stares at Rhodey adoringly in its wake, admiring the bridge of his nose, the slope of his brows, the depth of the eyes beneath them, and then there’s a dumb-one liner in the movie that makes Rhodey laugh. Tony, taking in everything about Rhodey while he remains oblivious, watches his grease-shiny lips split in a grin, and the dim light of the movie makes the expression sparkle with something Tony can’t find a word for but feels down to his toes.

It’s the fizz of champagne, the crackling of a fireplace, and the texture of a favorite blanket all at once, as homey as it is electrifying, and an oozing warmth spreads across the plains of Tony’s cheeks as his lips part in surprise at the intensity of the experience.

Rhodey never looks away from the screen, but though Tony is young, knows that, even if the emotion flooding him means as much as he suspects it does, he has a ways to go before he can do anything about it, he understands he’s never ever felt that way about a friend before.

Rhodey shakes his head in amusement and takes a sip of his coke. “I love this movie,” he mutters, and though he’s said as much a thousand times before, Tony doesn’t mind hearing it again.

I have gone back and fourth at boring you guys with this but its bugging me. Buck, his common theme is someone just picks him and he doesn't get left behind. Taylor cleared all the Abby and Allie hurdles. He has someone now. Even back during the lawsuit Hen pointed out who does he have outside of here. Well he has Taylor now, so in a typical M/W storyline problem solved. He can be bummed about Eddie quiting but it wouldn't be this big conflict. You can even compare it to the fact Hen is coping fine without Chim and Chim knows Hen will be leaving for med school soon.

Also that ILY scene was not ispiring. She was so joyful saying it and he was resigned. It almost reminded me that Abby was to Buck, as Eddie was to Anna has come full circle to Bucky is to Taylor. I feel like the talk he with Eddie will come back when Eddie lecfures him.

I would have loved to go into hiatus with them canon just cause I have waited forever but I would honestly be shocked if it's not canon by the end of 5B because none of this story telling is typical straight romance writing at all.

I kind of LOVE that Ana was on paper the perfect woman for Eddie. Real TV characters are never perfect, they're always flawed in some way, so when we get a "perfect" Love Interest, it's usually to make a point, it's to allow a protagonist to go, "that person seemed perfect, and yet I choose YOU. Love isn't a grocery list of the 'right' traits, and I choose you over anyone else, even over the 'perfect' person, because I love you." IDK what we will get in season 5b, I'm hoping for good things because everything seems to align in that direction, but I have to admit, I'm not convinced we have been waiting forever for Buddie. Eddie only joined the show in s2, and we're only half way through s5. I was just reminded of a ship I loved from the start, that finally got together this year after I waited for them to for 8 (!) seasons, I went through one of them not just dating, but marrying and having a kid with another person, and all of this only for my ship to finally get together and then be killed off in the very same season (yes, it's that kind of show where almost everyone gets killed sooner or later). I am not joking when I say that the Buddie wait game is nothing in comparison with some of my battle scars... *does the 911 scar comparing scene, just with ships* My point is, endgame couples can and do take their time, even if Buddie doesn't go canon in s5, it doesn't mean they won't at some point. And because 911 is a far more kind-hearted show than the average, I have faith!
