[SPOILERS FOR ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE]

After atsv came out I've noticed a lot of people hating on Gwen and a lot of it is jokes but some people legit think her character is ruined or she's a bad person so im gonna clear up her actions. What Gwen did was a pretty reasonable thing to do in her situation and while it wasn't a good thing to do she isn't a bad person. 1. SHE IS ALSO A CHILD like dayum y'all are ruthless towards Gwen about lying to miles when she has lost the only adult figure in her life and has been with people saying he is an anomaly for months. Also of course she wouldn't tell him after seeing him for the first time in a year bc A. how would she know Miguel was gonna pull that shit B. she could only be there for a little bit bc she's not supposed to see him at all so why would she show up and say "Hey Miles sorry i haven't visited you in a year. BTW your the originally anomaly and a mistake isn't that fun anyway byee!" Like no.

Also people are saying she dosen't care about him/leading him on but she clearly does care or why would she risk her mission just to talk to him? Also she wasn't leading him on she was just scared bc the Gwen Stacy fate, her job in the spider society, she knows she's not supposed to be there and she dosen't wanna risk hurting them both.

People are forgetting the Gwen is a 3 dimensional character just like everyone else in the movie. The whole point for her segment in the beginning was to show what she went through leading up to that point making her a sympathetic character. Also people make mistakes. She is a child and im sure there are plenty of grown people who would make the situation worse like oh idk Miguel not allowing Miles to go home and see his father. Only to chase after him and knock the shit out of him and drop more trauma onto him in the middle of the chase?? Like bro is 40 he needs that spider therapist more than anyone in that society.💀

P.S for those of you saying Miles and spider-byte are a better couple sure maybe they would be but they have has like 2 interactions so we have no idea what there dynamic is like. y'all just Gwen haters💔
