Autumn screams about how good monster hunter designs are 1: Shara Ishvalda

this guy isnt really my favorite monster or anything but its one of the monsters i feel the most strongly about if that makes any sense to you. i dont know who needs to be told this but rock monsters are fucking cool. dude looks like a fucking primordial god of the very ground we stand on.

i think its safe to say its sick as FUCK that they actually like. didnt just use the same type of rock for this dude. like theres actual variation in this guy's armor which you dont really see much of in media containing big rock dudes. including monster hunter itself

basarios for example is just like. a rock wyvern. with one kind of rock. but i really think it goes to show how much the design team for monster hunter has improved given that basarios is from the first game and shara ishvalda is relatively new. i just think thats pretty damn neat.

there are no good pictures of this so you gotta trust me when i talk about how cool it looks when you weaken its parts. most monsters just like put a texture over its leg or its head and call it a day but with shara its much more unique. like it actually changes the color of the rocks.

Yes- 7/10I really love how it kinda enforces the idea thay money rules the world and I fuckin love when people talk bout that shit. I relate to how he talks shit bout himself and how he hurts himself to get the pain out and how he's still like a normal and nice person even with him struggling.

Ifwhiteamaricatoldthetruth(I'm not typin all that)- 6/10 Not my favorite on the subject, but I do think it 100% truthful about America from the lyrics. In a way, the beat of this song kinda dose remind me of the national anthem, which I think is a cool and genuinely smart idea for the song. Love the vocals but not as much as other songs from this album.

Of walking abortion- 4/10 I enjoy the fact that it says we are to blame for everything, and I 100% agree with that. I feel as if it's sayin were all worthless and don't deserve life. The music it's self is kinda ehh but the lyrics are again amazing.

She is suffering- 6/10 In a way, I can see this song going along the lines of a lot of my moots relationships from what they post. Archives of pain- 100/10 LOVE THIS ONE. It's a dark song, and i love those types of songs. It's so fucking relaxing to listen to. I feel like it's bout punishing those who punish others and I fucking dig that concept.

Revol- 3/10 love the fact they spoke German in the song, but that's about it. I don't really enjoy the tone or beat of the song along with the lyrics. I feel like it's just not my cup of tea, and I enjoy kinda more downbeat songs. I also don't really like how they repeat the same words.

4st 7LB- 1000/10 WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SONG. It's so honest with the lyrics and how it describes what's happening during them not eating and especially with them vewing their own body, talking about how they want to be so light to the point their foot steps don't show. They also talk about how they feel sick, but they look into the mirror, and it completely goes away when they see what it's doing for their body. The beat matches the song so damn well, and I love how the beat changes during the end. I could go on and on about how much I relate and love this song.

Mausoleum - 4/10 I don't even know how to pronounce this song, but I do know I like it. Don't know what it's about to be 100% honest, but I like it, and that's it.

Faster- 8/10 there's heres definitely a reason why this is a more popular song from this album. Its honest with the lyrics and genuinely feel them and the truth behind them. The part when they talk about crying when you look at yourself naked and I love this line as well when they talk about sleeping to avoid shit. The beat it more upbeat, but it's kinda like a dance song, in my opinion. It could just be me, but I view this song being about a lot of things, with one of them being bout humanity veiwing others and everyone being fake and the same as well as depression.

This is yesterday- 4/10 I enjoy the slow and calm vibe of the song. I can't really grasp onto the reason of the song besides it being about aging and how fast things go past, and I can kinda feel that.

Die in summertime- 11/10 fuckin love the way the why the lyrics are sang and how I can feel the emotions through the fuckin phone. It kinda talks bout summer depression and shit like that, and I really relate to that. The first line in the song talking about the nails makes me feel kinda safe in a way. this is also a warning, i havent refreshed completely with my mcd knowledge and mystreet is more fresh in my mind so if i say something wrong about a plot point be nice to me im doing my best im a little guy with a dissociative disorder so i forget shit

aaalllrighty where the hell do i begin?

okay so first off, right off the bat: when he got back from the nether in mcd, he should've been blind. because

disability representation. blindness isnt something that can just be cured unless you get touched by jesus christ himself (im not religious but i think thats in the bible lol) and it something that impacts millions of people on the daily. exposing that to young kids can introduce them to the fact that not everybody is just like them and that people come in many different shapes and sizes. and it ofc helps anyone who happens to be blind have a chracter to relate to and project on.

do YOU KNOW HOW COOL IT WOULD BE FOR A BLIND KNIGHT? like fighting is a very visual skill for the most part you need to see your opponents sword to properly dodge it or you are good and truly fucked. so taking something integral to fighting and ripping it away gives another great chance for character development as well as some really sick ass scenes where laurence goes all toph and uses his senses that are now firing at all cylinders and kicks total ass

ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST!! like. laurence is a very visual guy, right? he sees pretty ladies to flirt with, he's a knight, he cares about his looks. so now he has all of that pretty much ripped away from him in an instant. what the fuck is he supposed to do? he flounders. hes a shell of his former self, in a way. like hes still there, hes still alive, but is he even laurence anymore? its something he has to learn to embrace and come to terms with. the main cast could also be super encouraging for him and basically is like "hey dude youre still the same fuckin awesome guy and you can still do all these fucking awesome things you just gotta learn how to do it again"

itd make for some cool relationship building between him and garroth or him and zoey or him and aphmau or even like him and cadenza. it gives him external relationships outside of just aphmau's love interest

JESUS FUCK I YAPPED A LOT ABOUT LAURENCE BEING BLIND OKAY

i think giving laurence (in both mcd and mystreet) jealousy/possessiveness issues is lame and a total turn off. like its such a gross thing to tell to kids, no? like "hey kids if you love someone they are ENTITLED to love you back and they CANT be in love with someone else"

obviously this behavior is still shut down but still... like why include it? especially because, prior to him falling in love, he seemed to be just a completely chill dude who only gets angry if he needs to. but suddenly hes mass slaughtering people at weddings (mcd), stalking his love interest because he saw her talking with another guy (mystreet), giving aphmau the cold shoulder because she is either indecisive or loses interest in him (this goes in both series i believe)

like it just gives you such an ick and obviously i know why they did this. i will say this until the day they put me in the damn ground its because of motherfucking aaron becoming a love interest. i have zero issues with aaron as a character and i even like him as a character (i have redeemed myself. i used to hate him) but as a love interest i think hes the worst thing to happen to every series because he just simply destroys any male character who had the potential to be shipped with aphmau which was all of them

were moving to mystreet here because mystreet is the best and most glaring example of this because mystreet was after they had decided to make aarmau canon in mcd and you can tell because of the way they set up laurence and garroth.

lemme explain and yes i know this is deviating from strictly laurence a tad but stay with me

im not going to use pdh because pdh was written after mystreet based off of the fact that for some reason travis doesnt know aphmau???? despite them being best friends in pdh??? WHATEVER WHWATEVER NOT THE POINT OKAY. were also going to completely disregard the undercurrent of grooming for aarmau and were going to pretend like this relationship is normal and not at all weird. okay? okay.

so from the moment you first meet laurence and garroth, you can tell their vibes are off. theyre openly hostile with each other (even if its playful theyre still "competeing" for her), theyre trying to shove each other out of the way. it makes them seem unlikeable. every time theyre on screen theyre talking to her or about her (often times planning on stalking her or getting irrationally jealous because they heard something through the grapevine) and it just turns the viewer off. if youre a first time viewer without any preconcieved notions of these character you're thinking "wow thats creepy. why would she stay friends with them? why would she bother sticking around her if all they want is a relationship out of her and not a genuine friendship?" and if you happened to watch mcd first youre thinking "wow is this how theyre really like? wow i dont like them at all anymore" and then you go to mcd and see their worst traits being ramped up and amplified to make them even more unlikable

and then you see aaron

in mcd hes a silent protector. hes always by aphmau's side. hes her one true loyal knight even when she does something he doesnt like. they understand eachother in ways that laurence and garroth just dont

in mystreet hes her guard dog. hes always there to step in when shes uncomfortable. hes her secret best friend her home away from home. he makes her feel loved in such a way that laurence garroth never could since theyve only ever cared about her superficially and not in any way that really, truly mattered

it makes the audience cling to him. it makes them think "well fuck why did the other guys even try hes obviously perfect for her" it blinds them of any other potential option because jesson just didnt give any other opportunity to shine through.

and thats fine. thats completely fine they can do whatever the hell they want to with their series because as one creative to another sometimes you just gotta make your bed and lie in it knowing that not every bitch out there is going to like every creative decision you make.

as a viewer it just.... it just makes you feel dissatisfied. leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, especially given the fact that in mcd you were basically told "these are your two options for love interests" and then a third love interest swoops in seemingly out of nowhere, gets her pregnant, and then he fucking dies.

in mystreet it just like... ugh. i dont know. i guess i feel happy for them because i can see their development. but like me personally i cant really feel shit for ms aarmau simply because of pdh and the FUCKING WEIRDNESS OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP

to sum up this long, long, long post my thoughts on laurence are as follows: i think hes written very poorly in mystreet and severely mishandled in mcd. i think that he had the potential to be very interesting in both series if used properly and he couldve had more intersting things happen to him in terms of the love interest department.

i think hes a character that gets the a lot of the character assassination tirade that jesson went on and i wish we got to see more of him but unfortunately we never will since you know his va left.

okay im going to ramble about the stories ive completed now spoilers! uh oh! for partitio, osvald, ochette, temenos, and hikari! (the last two, i havent completed their stories but i mention something spoilery)

i did partitio’s first since he was my first character and i needed to get him OUT of that first party slot . he’s free now . I loved the story though i was mildly disappointed in the ending (i wanted that old capitalist man to die) but tbh it wouldn’t have really fit the tone or partitio’s character to leave him for dead. plus partitio started the whole ass industrial revolution and created the concept of a department store so . that chapter was really fun by the way, i love how it actually had a permanent effect on the town and also alrond is fuckin great. the final boss was teetering on annoying for me but I think that was because i was a bit underleveled for it. overall i think it was creative, i mean it was a fucking train thats sick as hhell. but that cannon does SO much damage god.

osvald. holy shit massive mood change . like i already had a big mood whiplash when i got osvald after agnea but damn. anyway harvey is actually fucked up, way more than I already thought he was. if he wanted to steal osvald’s research and kidnap his wife and kid for their special magic blood he should’ve just killed osvald. that would’ve been the smart decision, but he’s so envious, so angry that they’re equal and he’s not better, that he decides to frame osvald for killing his wife and daughter, leaving him stuck in a really shitty maximum security prison for 5 years, then use his wife’s blood to make a chimera (okay shou tucker), lies to osvald saying it’s actually her. and it does have her voice, and i presume a bit of her mind, considering that once it begins to run out of health it starts to crumble and cry, and its tears heal osvald…its still not her though. she’s dead because harvey saw no more use in her. but hey, osvald’s daughter is still alive! and her minds been fucking manipulated so she thinks harvey is her father. jesus christ chapter 4 fucked me up. anyway the final boss battle was great. Osvald finally finding the answer through wanted to protect Elena was fucking awesome. the power of love is based and its also a giant fuck-off laser beam that transcends the elements to all foes, and reduces their shield points regardless of their weak points that costs 75 SP.

ochette’s was so good! the final boss being the companion I didn’t pick (in my case, the lājackal) almost made me cry. it was so sad, it didn’t deserve that, and im really excited to see my mom play her story because she picked the lājackal and I wanna know what Mahina could’ve been…also, the boss fight was hard as fucking hell, and extremely creative. The fact that it gets different attributes based on who you’re using??? thats fucking sick?? why did i have to be using castti so it got infinite heals every turn?? i still beat it first try but god it was hard. i still don’t like the human chief but at least she’s trying. I was really worried we were going to come back to the beastling village being overrun ON TOP of the night of the scarlet moon. oh yeah, who the fuck was the dark hunter? probably will find that out later..

also starting to see where these stories connect. The Shadow and D’arqest have been a running theme, at least in ochette’s, osvald’s, temenos’, and it’ll probably show up in hikari’s as well. plus there’s that purple fog with the creepy music that shows up sometimes (it was the same music during the part with all the corrupted people during osvald chapter 5…)

anyway im going to take a break now. i wanted to do castti’s so i could train up my lower characters but i am tired because i played for like 10 hours straight . hyperfixations suck ass sometimes i cannot stop thinking about the fuckin game and i need to fuckin sleep. holy shit i wrote a lot sorry.

A tad sunken, whether from being undead or lack of sleep, Creighton will only hate those brown iris'.

Pate was more than what he let's on.. Bastard was strong for how he looked, Creighton will give the bugger that.. And the murderer knew Pate for the conniving, slippery little rat he was, a dirty fuckin thief, petty as he was lazy.. On 'a treasure hunt' pssh! Hogwash.

"I didn't think you were so stupid as to fall for this measly trap i set up.. And here you are. Caught in the spider's web."

Pate hums, the usual disinterested look upon that smug, handsome face is over taken by a playful light in his eyes, and something playfully sick twisted in with his grin. Creighton glares at him with sharp icey blues.

Creighton snarls. His hands angrily form fists, chainmail digs into chainmail in a mild fit of rage, as Pate completely subdued him.

You see, Creighton ended strung up in a tree like a fresh hunt to dry, by his ankles. His axe became confiscated and Pate came laughing unto the scene.

Surpised that Creighton ended up in such a trap, he was amazed the murder didn't catch such an.. Obvious set up.

Pate bound his hands with chains, it was uncomfortable at best. Scuffing his wrists, while being humiliated by this fucker. And then he was cut down, like strung up jerky.

Pate chuckles at him.

"Im afraid you don't know what's good for me, my dear.. Intimidation doesn't work when your the one who's captured."

Pate smartly repeats, knowing Creighton can't do shit to him.

"You ain't captured shit! When i get my fuckin hands on you.. Cheeky prick.."

Venom practically dripped from each word the Mirrah man replied with.

"Ooh~ Im practically shaking."

Pate dully replies with a smile. He let's the murderers own axe caress the tight linked chainmail on his neck, creating a horrid little sound. Creighton sneers at the sound.

"Agh-.. Would you fuckin quit that!"

Pate's grin turns up more.

"Don't like it? What will you do to have me stop?"

Creighton cringes as Pate makes the same awful noise again. Metal on metal, cold screeching steel. And just that little zap of electricity- from the axe meant to slay dragons, turned into a murderer of men.

"Gah-!! Please!"

Gods, it felt so wrong for Creighton, the wandering killer from Mirrah, to beg this lowlife scum..

"Mmh, Good boy.. Beg for it~"

Pate hums gleefully, ceasing the grinding of metal. Creighton snarls at him from under his metal mask.

"I fuckin 'ate you... When i get my axe back you'll be a sorry fucker.."

"Hmhm.. Oh will i? Hm.. Your not very good at being a hostage. Your not even squirming.. Completely helpless and you dare not even attempt to try and help yourself."

Creighton was about to spit back at Pate, but he was suddenly kicked over, or, nudged by Pate's leg. The murderer lands face first into the dirt, sending his mask flying. It clatters against the ground, before laying lifeless.

Creighton, now laying front down against the ground, feels Pate's hand come down to the back of his neck, effectively pinning him. His icey blue eyes widen and he lets out a noise.

"You know how this will end, Creighton.. Don't you? This silly little game of cat and mouse.. But im not the mouse."

Pate coos. Creighton snarls back.

"Yer no fuckin' cat.. Yer a slimy damn rat.. I'll kill ya- I'll kill ya so fast ye won't even kna what 'it ya.."

Pate laughs at him, and hums smugly, his fingers curling around from the back of Creighton's neck. He gasps as he can feel the hard leather gloves of Pate's nimble fingers pressing into the sides of his throat.

"I know you, you chase me like a desperate hound in heat.. You don't want your ring anymore, do you?"

"AN WHA IF I DON'T?!"

Pate's eyes go wide at suddenly Creighton yelling at him. 'Oh my fucking lord...' Is all he can think. He was right? Damn. Not a first, but he was just messing with Creighton.

Sure they had some past, in Mirrah. Pate was traveling through, a young man, just as devilishly handsome as he is now. He's part of how Creighton escaped his sentence.. The murderer didn't just break out on his own.

Of course, two men alone on a rigorous journey to nowhere, there has to be some form of entertainment. Exploring the other's body, in a heated moment of longing that neither knew they harboured. It didn't go too far- usually one shoved the other off of him before anything could progress.

Pate laughs.

"You can't possibly be serious, can you? You really don't want your ring back?"

"...."

Creighton really just fucked himself over, didn't he?

Pate can't help but laugh again.

Ok I’m on the verge of falling into Despair so As Per Tradition here’s a list of horror movies I’ve watched for the first time this year that I’ve really liked

-The Wicker Man 1972

So here’s a good example of why spoilers don’t really bother me. I knew the ending going in (bc of the Nic Cage remake) and it still FUCKED ME UP SEVERELY. Like I was in TEARS. I didn’t even like the main character but GEEZE. It was 90% the sound of the ending scene I think.ikr the singing and the hymn and the cows screaming all layered on top of each other. It’s awful (high compliment). On a lighter note it’s also a secret musical and all the songs are bops :D

Speaking of knowing the ending and also horrifying sound design. This got spoiled for me by a classmate like 13 years ago. Was still sitting there watching it like 😨 Like god I get why this is considered THE scariest movie. Like hell damn this is one scary movie. Mostly bc of the music like holy god I felt like eas having a fever dream. This movie genuinely reminds me of the time I was sick on the couch slipping in and out of consciousness and my mom put on American Horror Story. I’m mad it was a Blumhouse film i genuinely believe it would be a masterpiece if Blumhouse wasn’t forcing jumpscares in there.
