i was thinking about this last night so I YAPPED HARD IM SORRY, but to summarize:

so in my head he's gone to rehab already, like it was really bad between the ages of 16-19, but he's like 21/22 in my story therefore, i feel like he managed to put himself through rehab (or ward forced him). he still smokes weed tho, when he's anxious but he sorta forgets about it when he's around reader and especially why they get together officially. he's not the same party monster he used to be, just enjoys a glass of whiskey here and there. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

if he and ward got in a huge fight (his mom is alive in this, she just left so i'd say maybe she got in contact with ward about wanting to see the kids and rafe snaps because she was always coming and going when he was kid, and eventually never came back after weezie was born), he'd lose it completly and he wouldn't know what to do with himself bc he can't let you see him like that, like the old rafe. sooooo being the hasty dumbass that he is he'd go to barry's and he'd get highhh as kite.

and you'd find out bc it's the fucking cut obviously, everyone knows each other so maybe your sister was coming home from work and drove past barry's, saw rafe leave and once she gets home she's like?? since when's rafe's friends with barry??? and you KNOW immediately. you just feel something's wrong bc he told about his past (its canon that he told reader everything after their first time together idc).

this would be like a year and a half into the relantionship so ITS BAD BAD, bc what do you mean he went to his old drug dealer??? fell into old habits that almost killed him back then and NOT TO HIS GIRLFRIEND??? you'd be heartbroken obviously. and this would be one of the biggest fights ever i feel like, it wouldn't last just a day, it would go on on for weeks cause he knows you're disappointed and he can't bring himself to look at you.

here’s some things i noticed/wondered/loved:

- i think in that scene where tom is on the ground yelling for sonic, he is wearing a special forces suit. maybe he upgraded from cop to working with gun?? if so i think that’s a really good use of his character actually! he wanted to save a life and raise a family above all else yes, but he still got his previous dream of doing more serious cop work!

- shadow just. has a big ass portal?? like holy shit he’s just suckin the life outta earth and ig that’s one way to do it (or maybe it’s just a ring and i’m stupid idek)

- i’m sure we’ll learn more about this in the actual movie so i’m not too worried, but i’m super confused at the very beginning scene. apparently sonic didn’t change his heart…but he did tho? like he learned what being a true hero meant in the last movie. tbh i feel like that’s enough but hey i’m not against more character development for our boy so!! (also that bit where he’s like “in my lungs” was actually really funny to me, ben schwartz’ awesome delivery caught me off guard)

- GERALD ROBOTNIK ALIVE HUUUUH?! tbh i would’ve preferred if maria was alive, i feel like that would be an interesting dynamic. but also ig that would make it harder for shadow to learn anything so i totally get it. anyways i’m just glad they’re putting a little twist on the story, it keeps it interesting. they already sorta did that with the knuckles and iblis thing actually! (even if that show sucked ass and although that probably wasn’t intentional 😭)

- even tho bro only got like… 3 lines, i really think keanu fits shadow. he’s very soft spoken in comparison to the rest of the case which feels nice. also he’s like the “really bad” guy so ofc he’s not gonna be yappin on and on like sonic or robotnik and he’s gonna take things uber seriously.

- where was my girl maddie :( i think she was only in like a singular frame. hope shes in the movie a somewhat significant amount. i heart pretzel lady!! could live without wade tho like pls im so sick of his bowling soap opera 💀

-this is kinda an excuse to have a white-furred version of mac who's less of a snarky bastard and more....nice is NOT the right word, but he wants to help. like, help reader and the monk exclusively. he doesn't really care about the other four but can play nice if he has to

-reader vouched for him after the impersonation incident, which, along with the buddha's assistance, saved him from swk's wrath. reader's argument was something along the lines of, "he's endangered, AND we just so happen to be on a quest for redemption so he'll fit right in!"

-as lonely and grateful to be alive as he was, the six-eared macaque begged to join his savior on the quest. the pilgrims could do with another powerful demon companion, couldn't they? (and just to save some grief, im gonna say they catch him before he can cannibalize any of the ffm monkeys. i ain't messing with that.)

-all the pilgrims but sun have accepted him into the group

-mac latches onto reader pretty hard. she's nice, she doesn't judge him too hard (but she still judges him, like he deserves), she helps remind him to be kind, she remembers to keep her voice down when speaking to him...he's getting gradually more and more smitten.

-of course, swk HATES this. that's his human!! this is his journey!! why does this asshole get to tag along and continue his attempts to steal both!? wukong knows six-ears is just trying to get a rise out of him, just trying to get him to attack so he can play the victim.

- macaque is only sorta trying to do that. what he wants is reader's attention. and an easy way to get it is by being hurt or upset. he clocked reader as the bleeding heart type the moment he laid ears on her, so any chance he gets; he's hurt~ monkey king's being mean to him~ he's only trying to help~

whenever someone is in a “please can you pretend to be my boyfriend” situation they will always turn to iwaizumi hajime to stand in, and you were no different.

when you were dragged to a house party by your friends your first year of college, you didn’t expect for there to be so many eyes on you. and it may just be because you looked good in your outfit, but it felt different, especially when you made eye contact with one guy who looked a little older than you, but despite the age gap he stared you down like he wanted to eat you alive.

a feeling of dread washed over you and you scan around the room for something, anything that can help you. and thats when your eyes fall on him.

you had never really spoken to him before, only once or twice during your shared maths class, but you didn’t really have a choice at that moment, so you walk up to him.

“hi,” oh shit you’re really doing this, “my names yn.” you’re nervous, incredibly nervous. you’re pretty sure he can see it on your face.

“i know, we share some classes together, are you okay? you seem kinda off.” he looks worried, its a look that you don’t see often from strangers, he actually wants to help you.

“please can you pretend to be my boyfriend?” that catches him off guard, you can tell by the way his drink gets caught in his throat and his eyes go wide.

he was not expecting that.

“excuse me?”

“just for a little bit, this guy keeps staring at me and its making me really uncomfortable, i get the question was sudden and we don’t know each other but please, i’m begging you, can you go along with it?”

hesitantly you get on your tip toes and as you are about you hoist yourself up he grabs onto either side of your waist and lifts you up, then places you down until you are flush against him. to say you are flustered would be an understatement. and the way he naturally wraps his arms around you makes it worse, its like he’s meant to do this.

iwaizumi is attractive, you would have to either be blind or an idiot to not admit that, but being like this with him was so…weird, in a good way.

it felt normal, almost too normal, like you two had been friends (or maybe something more) for years. and you weren’t complaining.

“who is it?” his breath is fanning over your neck ever so slightly and his hands were playing with the hem of your shirt. ”the one that’s bothering you.”

“you see that guy in the corner over there, long-ish hair, striped shirt and a sorta scruffy excuse for a beard?” that makes him chuckle, its a beautiful sound.

“yeah i see him, he looks a little old don’t ya think?”

“yeah thats the whole problem, he looks like 5 years older than me.” you turn you head to face hajime, hes staring at you already.

“and what would that be?” his face changes, its slight but definitely there, he looks more confident, like he knows what you are gonna say.

“go for it, kiss me.” and thats all he needs before he gently places his lips against yours, staying still for a second or two before he starts moving, turning his head slightly to get a better angle.

it all feels so right.

you both pull away to catch your breath, having the same idea you look for the man that was staring at you, only to find him gone.

“well,” he starts, “looks like it worked.” he looks proud of himself, but the boyish grin on his face, the blush on his cheeks, and the fact that he is all fidgety now tells you that he didn’t just do it to help you, he wanted to kiss you, so why not give him what he wants?

“im not sure hajime, i think we should carry on, you know, just to make sure he is actually gone.” your hands start to play with the hair above his neck and he gets this wobbly smile across his face.

he likes the sound of that.

“i mean if it would make you feel better then i guess i should, shouldn’t i?”

They know the prophecy and stuff and so once Narinder is like trying out his resurrection ritual they give him the think no evil treatment. Or maybe not that but injures him severely enough that he cant do that anymore and everyone else is like wtf Shamura hes our brother whatd he do???

Anyway domino effect where Shamura tries desperately to explain why they did what they did but people think/see that they went a liiiittle mad trying to prevent the erasure of the old faith so the gang bands together to sorta kill them but not? Havent decided yet but they get put in timeout somewhere locked up. They injure their siblings in their rage, because why cant they see that theyre just trying to help them?!

In their inprisonment they are alone. They dont get 2 kids to raise like Narinder had but instead I thought what if they had like a bunch of their followers whever theyre trapped with them? Narinder keeps sacrificing his most favored followers (and i like to think that Narinder had many cattle animals as followers) or perhaps Shamuras still alive and beliveing ones? Also undecided but Narinder sends them his gifts in form of sacrificed followers for company.

Shamura cant resurrect people hence my first issue with that idea but alas the Goat is 100% a gift from Narinder in this one. How idk yet but eventually they band together with Shamura for revenge and for the destruction of their siblings. Because after a 1000 years of time to think about the sourness of betrayal from their own kin they raised themself they decide the most fitting punishment is to actually erase the old faith. The goat as one of their most devoted is more than on board with that.

Anyway watch when the goat comes out that theyre just like some rando from an au where the old faith is all dead and the crowns need reclaiming or smt. Lol

one of the first things ive noticed post becoming alive like the next frankeinstine is that her eye wasnt fixed by the mechanics, which as ill discuss later imply a sort of negligence (? i think) to the properly, i however dgaf and like to interperate this as her having a lazy eye <3

she seems to be a genuially nice person!!!! um . i dont know how to continue this paragrapth pretend theres something here thats interesting

imagine being born into the world and already having a dreadful fear of being abandoned. crazy, mustve impacted her very hard

though this probably means it gave her fake memories or she was already sorta vaugely away of whats happening?? like psudo sentient?? if that makes sense, how the hell do you know this girl, you havent BEEN to the devils sacrament

the way she goes about it and the ending shows that she has no clue on how to socialize or their cues at all, or just cuz of the pov its intentionally shown as more creepy (which it probably is, you could hear her go "where r u going :(" in a sad tone), shes a massive werido and i love her for that

lets see, were right off the bat were introduced to a good few places, the fun tunnels, the game zone, a claw machine thats rigged, the place with the signature snack which i wont go over because thats kinda of its own gag but its sticky and probably unhealthy, and the main stage

i assume the fun tunnels are made with a holograpthic effect inuniverse, and i think theres some LED lights in there to make it glow, i was going to say its polyethylene plastic but i dont think that exists google stock photos lied to me, also not related but it looks like a horrible spray paint job was done on this thing lol

also acording to the lyrics theres supposed to be 3 more members, a raccoon, cat and turtle . i dont think we see craggle in photo though rip (if theyre not a sphyinx ill be dissapointed), tyrone seems to have a 60's? aesthetic going on, rascal has a punk aesthetic going on and patty has a more modern aesthetic ? i think, the spiked collar is throwing me off

from winns dialouge in the start implying that they havent been here in a good while ("when i was little" ur in 5th grade) and the fact that their instruments are still there, then this was probably a recent desicion, or atleast long enough for a 10 y/o that hasnt been here in awhile to be upset by this and for patty to be immediatly spawned in with abandonment issues

along with a rigged claw machine and the snack i think it implies that the people over there who own this establishment are probably really cheap, and the fact that the PRAMBY snack is really sticky is definatly going to cause some health issues down the line, something something fazbear entertainment

oh and also, theres like a split second frame where this shows up, obviously its just there as a morbid joke but atleast it shows us this establishment is atleast old enough to have someones decaying body be bone by now, which after writing that makes me sound stupid because skeletonization might not take as long as i thought it would ("3 weeks to several years" depending on the surroundings)

whoever was there seemed to have been stuck for 25 days at least and has gone undetected, which means this place is linked to one unsolved missing persons case and they dont have a clue (most likely), also theres ballpit balls inside this thing i fucking guess?? theres no actual ballpit in the place idk what this kid was doing

bc i think yaz always knew that time with the doctor was like, finite. i think she went into it knowing. she goes into it with "i want more", she knows it will end, she just wants a little bit longer. same in revolution "im not ready to let you go yet". she knows she will have to one day, just not yet, not just yet. i think she felt the clock from the start as much as the doctor always must feel the clock with companions. you meet them and time starts ticking until you lose them. it's a doctor thing to feel, so i think yaz felt it too.

and she knew travelling was dangerous, and she knew people died, but i think maybe she hadnt anticipated that it might be the doctor that would be the one to die? theres something indestructible about them. i mean theyre bouncy. 13 throws herself between the fam and danger from the very first night as if she cant be injured. even when she sort of visibly is.

like theres a lot of things yaz might have been thinking and i dont know if this is the option that makes the most sense, like she might have thought they'd get to say goodbye at least, or she'd get the choice at least, a last trip, anything, that it wouldnt be so abrupt. but i feel like with how power of the doctor ended, with like 13 sort of having to submit to her mortality, and yaz first saving her from it and then having to watch as her body like shows the actual physical signs of what amounts to death in both of their eyes, AND maybe also the fact that 13 doesnt deny it most of all. like theres no pretending it's just you know what this means we both know what this means we stop pretending now, like. All Of That being how it ends. i feel like maybe yaz in revolution/timeless children just wasnt expecting it to be the doctor to die

Call this my toxic trait buttt I dont think Rae did anything wrong in raising his mom from the dead. LIKE why the fuck shouldnt he?? His mom(and grandpas) didnt deserve to die, why the fuck should he let them, when he HAS the power to bring them back?? like??? Also not Momboo being a massive bitch telling Isla her son deserved to die. LIKE GIRL. i know you have issues but that is NOT how you talk to a grieving mother. ABSOLUTELY DESPICABALE behaviour. ALSO im pissed off at Fenris, Caspian and Aax. Like not them confirming Rae's worst fears when he actually tells them about Momboo and sends HIM away. and blah blah blah its their magic reacting badly but they dont even TRY to sympathise with him. I agree with you, there's very little reason that Rae shouldn't bring his family back and Momboo's reaction (while coming from a place of trauma and fear) was unreasonable. However, I raise this to you, Rae is dead, he can not age or die. At this moment with how it stands he is going to watch Isla grow old and die, if he brings Raemond and Everett back the same thing will happen. He brought Isla back and he's going to loose her again and why would he be any better at processing his grief. Necromancy can not stop old age.

As for what happened with Momboo bringing Rae back and then Aax/Fenris's magic reacting badly to that, I have so many thoughts about it bc it's also how I imagine magic working in this au. I'm going to try to make this make sense.

I imagine that everyone's magic inside them is like a well, you can take water out of it (to perform magic) and more water will flow in to replace that lost water. You can deepen the well to increase how much water can be taken out of it without it running dry (strengthening your magic) however, if you try to deepen the well too quickly then parts of it might cave in (think exercising without warming up leads to hurting yourself, you try to perform too much magic that you're not ready for and you get weaker because you pushed yourself too far). The thing is is that you don't want your well to collapse or run dry. Rae bringing back Isla caused both to happen. When Momboo brought him back she just refilled his well with water so he could rebuild his well (bring himself back to life because Rae relies completely on his magic to live, other people can survive their well of magic being emptied but he can't). Because of that there was life magic in a well meant for necromancy, it was like dumping a bucket of muddy water into a mountain spring, and it will take days for Rae's magic to replenish and wash out the life magic. Fenris and Aax sensed the life magic in him (magic that wasn't supposed to be there, magic that was wrong for who Rae is) and it set alarms bell off in their heads because that's Rae's body but that's not Rae's magic that's reanimated his corpse. That's what Len's magic and reanimating the hordes felt like, that was a necromancer's magic filling bodies not meant for that form of magic.

The same thing didn't happen when Isla or Centross were brought back because they are both necromancers and so is Rae. That is necromancy magic filling wells meant for necromancy. I don't think Momboo felt as much "wrongness" with bringing Caspian back either because of a combination of Caspian not having magic and Momboo being a life witch.

Rae being called not human is a correct statement because he's dead, he's a corpse that's walking around. He's an abomination/unnatural because he's "living" off of magic that is nothing like his own.

Rae is an abomination, he is a monster. He is both Len (the traitor, the monster, the original sin) and the hordes (the horror, the grief, the terror) that marched on cities. He is a reanimated corpse with the singular goal of bringing his family back no matter the cost.

This is not because of what type of necromancer he is (because there are types, I just haven't been able to talk about them yet), he brought Centross and Isla back with both of their desires being completely separate from his own. He has no control over them. His situation is a bit more like Len and the horde which Len has/had complete and utter control over. Rae didn't have enough magic to bring himself back to life completely (hence the no heartbeat/breathing/just being alive) but he did have enough magic to bring himself back as one of the "mindless undead" which have singular goals according to the necromancer who raised them, his goal being bringing his family back. He's not being rushed into doing that/given the illusion of free will because his "soul" inhabits his body since it was reanimated. Think of it like Rae's soul/ghost is possessing his body, if that helps, but ghosts usually are formed with some goal in mind like revenge, in Rae's case that goal is simply bringing his family back.

Anyways, I could keep talking about this but I feel like I'm making less and less sense as I go on. I'm always happy to answer asks about this series bc I am unwell about it. I hope this made sense and I'm glad you're enjoying the series!!

what were darks thoughts during showdown, specifically about chosen/killer/beast did he know who threw the initial punch? who tried to stop him sending the virus? did he realise it was beast fending off the too-many-virabots? what did he feel when he realised he'd managed to trigger them out? make it deem it needed to take over the situation? and assuming dark is still alive, what do you think they feel about showdown looking back on it, and knowing how much hurt they caused to their best and only friend(s)

oh man anon you've got nooo idea how badly i wanted to draw a response to this but my visual artblock is so bad rn im so sorry. i did get a bit carried away writing this however ☝️ because i am dramatic ☝️

I think for a lot of Showdown, neither are exactly thinking clearly enough to really stop and consider what's going on farther than just their stance on the whole thing. [I specify neither because I don't think it's exclusively Dark or Chosen's fault that Showdown went the way it went; they both just kept making mistakes at every turn together lol]

At first, Dark is confused, maybe a bit irritated at being stopped. He thinks what he's doing is not only deserved, but the right course of action, and doesn't understand why Chosen - who did indeed throw the first punch in trying to stop him, something he did know as it happened, even if it was more of a subconscious knowledge than actively thinking about it - doesn't understand why he tried to stop him.

Over the course of it, he becomes less confused and more frustrated, maybe bordering on angry. The two are definitely arguing the whole time they're fighting, shouting in the air, especially once Chosen comes back from the PC to confront Dark.

As for how he felt about managing to actually trigger Beast out unintentionally .... he doesn't realize it the second it happens. He's not even really paying attention to Chosen after the Virabots keep him busy on the ledge. He's actually just sort of talking for a bit when he's flying closer, arms crossed, glancing around, talking very animatedly with his hands in the air as he tries to once again argue his point, though much more exhasperated and angry than before, not really thinking about what he's saying.

But then he realizes Chosen's stopped responding. Usually he'd be arguing back, even if he's busy deflecting a hit. And Dark- Dark sorta stops, because he's sure he didn't send that many Virabots at him to keep him from talking back? It was just a few out of all of them, so what's the deal? He can't hear sounds of fire anymore, Chosen's not fighting back, so what..?

And he sorta trails off, maybe calls out Chosen's name once or twice - who knows, maybe he was just speaking too quietly to be heard? - before sorta tilting his head and.. staring. He knows a few "tells" that the others have - small, minute differences between them that he's learned over the years to spot.

And he's just kinda looking them over, and he-- he starts noticing. Things. The way "Chosen" is tense, as still as possible despite the occasional pull from a Virabot. The unnerving silence, a heated glare, grit teeth and an almost snarl.

And he thinks - he goes, "no, okay, that's wrong." But he knows, the more he looks, that that isn't Chosen anymore, he knows that that's Beast. And you can kinda see it on his face when the realization sorta hits, and he actually sorta jerks back a bit in the air - because he knew this fight of theirs was bad, one of the worse ones they've had, but he didn't think it was this bad. He didn't realize he'd ended up doing something bad enough for Beast to have been triggered out. And he sorta thinks about everything he's done this fight, trying to pinpoint exactly what he'd done, and- there. Right when Chosen get's overwhelmed. He's sure that's when it happened. When else could it have?

And I think that, had this been early enough in their relationship, or maybe even now if he had been too far gone in his anger to have noticed, maybe then he wouldn't have thought too much about it. Just a consequence he'd have to deal with later, and he's much accustomed to consequences.

But now? After what he'd been told, after what he'd been trusted with knowing? After the years spent learning to avoid doing things that cause exactly this? Over a fight where he never intended to actually do any real damage to Chosen in, just stall long enough to get his plan over with?

Well, he's upset. With himself. For letting it get this bad, and especially for doing exactly what he'd promised to never do.

But he can't exactly think about it for too long, since this is around the time Second and the CG step in - and then that thoughts gone, and replacing it is more irritation at being interrupted, and the rest plays out as we all know it does. He'll apologize after he's done here. Make it up to them somehow later, have a long talk with them about this.

As we all know, this apology will never be able to come ☝️ because he Dies SO Badly ! However. Let's indulge in denial for a minute ^_^

I think after Showdown, if Dark survives, he's on his own for a long time. Most of it is involuntary, of course - if he could go home he very much would, after all. But he's on his own regardless as he goes through the process of recovering from getting his ass oblitorated in a "fight," and thus he has... quite a bit of free time now.

So he gets to thinking. Over and over he thinks about that day, about where he went wrong in his plan for it to go so far south so fast.

At first there's anger - how dare Chosen try to stop him? Does he not care about what they'd gone through, anymore? Does he not care that it could still be happening out there? Is he not angry, does he not want his right revenge?

Then there's guilt - he shouldn't be thinking that way about Chosen. He knows that. He knows that Chosen most definitely had his reasons, and that if Dark had just listened, then maybe he'd at least know them.

More anger - why should he be sorry for just trying to do something right for once? Chosen pushed him - clearly he wasn't open to convincing. Chosen, Killer, Beast - they took their side that day, it's not Dark's fault they faught over it.

More guilt - and he hates that, hates the feeling of it constantly nagging at him every time he tries to justify himself. Hates the way he thinks back to the part at the cliff edge, when he doesn't see Chosen anywhere in them anymore, only the angry and distrusting Beast. Hates how he feels bad about everything about that day. Then he hates that he hates the feeling.

He spends a lot of time like this - flipping between angry and guilty. And let's be clear, I'm once again not pinning all of the blame on Dark. Chosen and the others do a lot of thinking themselves after this. But those three have a support group to do it in, an outsiders perspective that helps level them. Dark is going through this completely isolated - and thus takes a lot longer to come to terms with everything and realize what he'd done.

All together, he's upset. At himself for hurting his closest and only friend[s] like this, and at them for fighting what he thought was the best course of action. He's upset at the CG for butting into something that he feels had nothing to do with them. He's upset that the day ever happened to begin with.

[Then he finds the "Wanted" fliers on Chosen one day, maybe on one of his many sneaky trips into the city for supplies to bring back to wherever he's staying. He rips as many down as he can - because god only knows they don't need this to deal with too - but he knows, almost dully, that it's no real use.

He's in the city the day Chosen is chased through it. He's almost tempted to flag him down and help - but he's sure that'd make the situation so much worse, and by the time he makes up his mind to do it anyways, Chosen's already long gone, the Mercs not far behind. The only thing Dark can do his scurry home before someone recognizes him, too, and then he'd really have a problem on his hands.]

Look as an abuse survivor and also as a person still living in a some what abusive situation and trying my hardest to leave ,Astarion's non ascended ending feels like a punishment to me for trying to escape the cycle.

Im Not talking about him burning in the sun again or running to the shadows thats kinda a logical writing move but im talking about how non of tav or the companions even move an inch or go after him...

Like i understand i really do! sometimes you try to escape situations that are impossible to escape but i know that with every attempt you come out a different person than when you started. You gain experiences and friends that make you stronger you mature and change regardless of success or failure and open up new doors of survival..

For astarion he came out of this situation with new friends from all over with new found experiences new found trust and understanding of life, connection, and love and to me it would make sense that once he was "back to the start" he would return carrying these new found concepts and use them to make a situation better

So him completely disapearing and crying alone implying hes gonna go back to the sewers while the companions go on an make a joke feels crule and like we were told trying to break the cycle is not worth it and no one cares if you dont have success.

In my heart my tav doesnt even let him run she throws a cloak on him and gale casts darkness and the companions shield him and shadowheart heals him while discussing whom of the companions is he best to go with and stay at thier house and live there with dignity while we try to figure out a sun risitance potion or spell.

This is called support this is called connections this is called having your friends back

just like how TAV/wyll support karlach and go with her to keep her alive and have her back. She is forced to go back to the start to the place she loaths and swears to never go back to non of her plans work out and life takes her into a different direction. i've been there i know it too well i know she tried to break out of an impossible situation (impossible by game mechanics i know there's a way story wise to fix her engine but its simply not in the game) but she goes back to the start carring all the new found things she learned and gathered along the way. She goes back knowing she is loved she is cared for she is worth us leaving it all behind she goes back with a friend that will support her for the rest of her life. For Astarion's non ascended he doesnt get that...

And that pains me especially knowing what ascended Astarion is like, im not gonna hate on that direction but im just gonna say it feels like we and he were rewarded for reinforcing the cycle of abuse and shat on for daring to try ro break it and that kinda sorta hurts:(

Okay So i had a brain blast about my ship with alastor so this is gonna be the Definite Kewpie x Alastor Ship Post that covers everything i have so far about it ↷↷↷

so this whole thing starts because somehow someway i get a demon attached to me as a kid, a toddler even, dont really know how or why, but because of this my whole life growing up is plagued by insane near death experiences all orchestrated by this demon (this is based on some real shit in my life btw, not to sound superstitious or anything and i dont even think i believe in demons of any denomination but there was some Weird Shit going on, i might talk about it someday) and by the time im an adult ive tired everything under the sun to stop these things from happening- different religious practices, spells and charms and rituals and so on and so forth im at my god damn limit im so tired

eventually im pushed to try to fight fire with fire, and end up summoning Another demon to try and idk cancel out the old one? make a deal to keep me safe? not sure What my plan was but i'd come this far and i didnt know where else to turn

well the demon i summoned was alastor. he wasnt even my intended target, in fact of demon of his power shouldnt really be able to be summoned at all under normal circumstances, and would require someone with a ton of power of their own to pull it off (havent decided if this is something i managed to do because of all the varied rituals etc mentioned earlier, or some dumb luck) and that alone is kind of intriguing for him

tbh he hasnt been summoned in a While, its something that got lost to time and he kinda assumed it would never happen again, and even when it happened before he would usually just kill the person without bothering to strike a deal, cause even people who did manage to do it usually werent strong enough to do it safely

but hell has been kinda Boring lately, the hotel hasnt given him as much entertainment as he had hoped (this is like. mid season 1, and with the understanding that the story stretches way longer than the breakneck speed the actual show takes) and he sees this as an opportunity for something interesting to do for a while

when he hears what im looking for, he's gotta laugh about it- there's no way this other demon that had attached to me would give him any trouble, and this was a great way to guarantee he get another soul when i eventually died anyway, so he offers up this deal:

for a few hours a day he gets complete control over my body, a full on possession to do whatever he wants with that time.

obviously im hesitant, but we go back and forth on it a bit before deciding to make the deal with some ground rules (like he cant do anything thats gonna get me killed prematurely for example- after all im doing this specifically so i dont die by another demon's hand)

so we strike the deal! no all he has to do is get rid of that other demon and my soul is as good as his! its not that simple tho of course- he's not sure how the demon is accessing the living world, and figures its likely similar to what he's doing- somehow tethering himself to the living world, while their actual physical body is still in hell, so he needs to figure that out on his end, and it ends up being a more difficult task than previously expected- so he could be dealing with something older and more powerful than he realizes.

he'll figure that out later tho, he's got living stuff to do! at first he's v dismissive when i ask him what he could possibly want to be doing with my body, like what was he even planning to get up to, but he cant keep me completely in the dark about it cause im still sorta There when im possessed- its a bit like lucid dreaming where you're aware that you're dreaming, but not quite aware enough to control what you're Doing in the dream, and over time i become more and more present the longer he's possessing me

so eventually he admits that he's curious about what happened after he died- he was a bit of a celebrity when he was alive after all, he's sure it would cause Quite a stir when it was revealed after he died that he was a criminal- a moonshiner for one, but a serial killer and cannibal! he wants to know if there was a media circus, where he was buried, wants to visit his old stomping grounds, and so on and so forth. this leads me on all kinds of adventures through the deep south, the dusty aisles of libraries and newpaper archives, old graveyards, and so on, all the while we keep getting more comfortable and close despite ourselves

and eventually i realize that he isnt actually interested in what happened to himself after his death, he's actually using all this to try and find out what happened to his mother. she was Not a local celebrity, and his infamy was so large that it eclipsed most of the people he knew in life, so tracking it all down was kind of a hassle. but he was and is a mama's boy, and he wanted to know if she lived a good life

now all of this eventually winds down to figuring out why there was that first demon attached to me, probably some fucked up nonsense a little while back in my family tree or something (tbh im not sure how much i want to focus on the how and why but we'll see) and we get that settled finally as well as finding out how alastor's mom's life played out and put him at east there, and all that's left is to simply live my life until i die, where i'll go to hell and alastor will have my soul to keep (we're v cozy at this point and quite comfortable cohabiting a body and mind space so he's not particularly eager to completely break the tether until my time comes)

and the thing about sharing a mindspace with something extremely dangerous and powerful that has just enough sway over the world around you to keep you safe in a bad situation, or even fully take over your body to get you out of it, is that you feel v confidant most of the time and fear isnt really something you deal with anymore, so i frequently go wandering around the woods at night for example because im sure nothing can really touch me when i have a demon for a companion

a demon in your head cant protect you from a bullet however, and maybe i should have known better than wandering the woods at night during deer season, and maybe the unholy aura i had around me hit the moonlight just wrong and the hunter thought he was aiming for the silhouette of a creature with antlers, and then i was dead

and then i wake up in hell

if this was a fic, at this point it would be like the 'part 2' (and who knows if i iron it out enough maybe i Will write it sometime) and im not sure exactly what i want to do about it just yet obviously it would loosely follow the canon of the show, just with a lot of extra stuff thrown in. maybe in 'part 1', we didnt actually Kill the other demon, just broke away from it, and its still in hell somewhere, fuming about losing my soul, or maybe finding out about his mom actually did Not put alastor at ease- maybe his actions made her life very difficult and now he has to deal with knowing that and i can use that as a catalyst to him getting redeemed to see her again in heaven, not sure yet!

but i do know a big part of the interpersonal situation is that we dont share that mindspace anymore, we're just physically There Together and tbqh its really difficult to cope with. we both got so used to it that we feel like something's missing now, and we might even go so far as to try to find a way to reestablish that mental link, or maybe there's still echoes of it lingering, but only if we're asleep or something like that

like i said, still ironing out the hell part of it all, but thats what ive got! much to think about much to think about

and to add to this- some stray little Thoughts and Ideas to play around with in regards to this story:

while researching alastor's life and 'hunting grounds' we run into a copycat killer, probably someone who has a personal collection of alastor's things, works at a library maybe, who's always dreamed of following in his footsteps, and that decides i should be the first victim since im also sooo interested in alastor's 'work' that i surely wouldnt mind (i do, and so does alastor (he does Not consider imitation as flattery and who tf does this loser think they are coming after something that belongs to him (he's gotten attached)))

i for sure need to come up with more fun and awful little adventures like that

alastor's ability to effect and manipulate the living world around me through his powers alone (so like Not literally using my body for example, this is more like a poltergeist) is stronger when there's radio static playing in the air

going off the idea that the mental link gets stronger and clearer the long it lasts, maybe at sone point it gets so strong that one time when i go to sleep, i 'wake up' in a v similar state as when alastor was first possessing me, that floaty, kinda-lucid-kinda-not, excpet now im hitching a ride in His body in hell and at this point he's so used to having me as a v general and vague presense at the back of his mind that he doesnt even notice at first that im much more clearly and actively There- its a frightening idea for us both when the realization sets cause now we Really gotta face whays going on here and how far its gone

when i get shot by the hunter, alastor is actively co-piloting my body at the time, and since i headcanon he died in a similar fashion (bullet to the head) its like he experienced his own death all over again (something something tied even in our death etc etc) and he sort of 'wakes up' back in his body afterwards and after realizing what happened having to fight the urge to be seen frantically searching the streets for me now that i must be here

considering we Were linked up when i died, and the black mark this whole situation would leave on my soul, my demon form would probably echo his design

how far am i willing to go while alive to achieve our goals- ive definitely been put in situations where i needed to do harm for survival, but would i go further than that, not because i needed to, but because i wanted to? is it alastor's influence or something that i was always capable of? do i indulge in cannibalism? what about after im in hell, what then?

thinking on it, i think Will go with alastor's mom suffering from his life choices, and him having to deal with that, as Well as having to deal with that first demon in 'part 2' to carry over as an overarching plot

maybe we Both get redeemed but we dont actually like it in heaven like its too bright so we fuckin.
