So I found out about an old non-canon Bionicle comic made for the Lego Adventure magazine and it is... something else.

Instead of artwork it's almost like renders in dioramas with a filter placed over them.

Omg um Hi? hahaha lololol this is so so awkward. but hey guys Tasha is back! *bunyi drumroll* I know that I’ve been quiet for so long and I’m truly sorry for making you guys wait for almost a year plus, or more kot? I’m truly, deeply sorry :(  okayla dulu i selalu questioned kenapa bloggers selalu tak consistent untuk keep their blogs updated. Now that I’ve become one of them baru i tahu yang it actually takes a lot to consistently write. All this while I’ve been busy with my studies and all, so yea I couldnt really spare my time to sit down and write. (okay dah ah i dah takda idea nak bagi alasan apa dah hahahaha)

okay let’s get started! so as you all know, I went to Italy with my family for a month, last year, in 2019. “fuyo sebulan loaded teroks” kata siti rogayah (bukan nama sebenar) kepada thenah (sebut senah je spelling je acah matsalleh sikit). first and foremost, assalamualaikum I just want to make it clear yang i tak loaded pun haha. we went there pun ikut my dad punya business trip je maka nya rakan rakan sekalian, most of our expenses there were covered by the company, kalau tak memang i kena jadi petani sambilan lerr tanam taugeh tepi Pisa tower untuk sara diri i kat italy. so if haritu i cerita pasal france, seperti yang dijanjikan, this time I akan cerita pasal places that i visited in Italy, including some parts of Swiss. tapi not all la i akan cerita interesting places je kiyoh kiyoh (dekat tumblr je boleh gelak cemni kalau gelak kiyoh kiyoh in real life nanti mesti ternganga makcik yang duduk sebelah rumah i tu). jadi mari kita kita explore 6 places to visit in Italy bersama Tasha The Explorer yeaayyy (macam biasa, ni dora version takda monyet)

#1 Verona

I personally love Verona walaupun masa kitorang pergi tu panas gila ibarat tersadai di padang pasir yang kering kontang ye anak anak (ni kalau cikgu BM i baca peribahasa yang i baru reka 2 saat yang lepas ni mesti dia suruh i jalan itik keliling padang netball sambil baca kamus dewan edisi ke 4). tapi memang panas gila lah taktipu. tapi i still suka verona sebab dia macam bila you sampai tu you’ll be like “Ouh now this is italy” because you can somehow feel the italy vibes there. In verona you’ll get to see plenty of cosy cafes with outdoor seating as well as souv shops. Colosseum pun ada but a small one lah i tak pergi rome tsk tsk (ini bunyi nangis ye for those yang taktahu) so i masuk colosseum kat sini je. if you happen to come here later, my advice would be, hm takyah masuk la haha sebab takda apa pun bazir duit je baik tengok kat google.com je.

anyway, those who are fans of romcom movies (macam i yeay)  tahu la kot kenapa verona ni jadi tourist spot. For all you know, Verona has become one of the most popular tourist spots in Italy since the release of Letters to Juliet, the famous american romantic comedy movie yang Amanda Seyfried berlakon tu. siapa tak tengok lagi please la go tengok cerita ni cute nak nangis okie dekat netflix pun ada. so basically in that movie like dorang tunjuk dekat Casa de Giuletta you boleh write your relationship problems and leave your letters there nanti Secretaries of Juliette akan reply kan. I taktahu if yall tahu or no but I’m telling anyway yang that place exists, the secretaries exist and if you tulis surat to them dorang akan reply! but i baca dekat this one blog dorang memang akan reply cumanya hahahaha hm jap gelak jap, cumanya it might take them days, months or even years lah to reply your letter. but better late than never kan gitchew. yela tourists from all over the world kot tulis kisah cinta frust menunggeng dorang dekat the secretaries ingat dorang Simsimi ke nak reply cepat cepat.

so if pergi verona, casa de Giueletta is a must visit place because obviously that’s the main attraction of the town. But honey worry not, you dont need to go all the way to Verona just to have your heartbreak letter answered. it’s 2020!  today, you can just share your relationship stories with them through email at dearjuliet@julietclub.com nanti dorang reply yeaay hehe. if korang nak tahu lebih boleh check their website. #2 Venice

Okay let me be frank, I am so sorry if this would disappoint many of you but Venice doesnt meet my expectations laa haha. I excited gila nak pergi venice masatu bcs I tengok dalam movie The Tourist macam lawa gilagila. but bila i sampai i macam NAANI? hahaha bcs biasa je la Venice ni, but this is my personal view la, mine might differ from yours. Maybe i cam biasa biasa je, maybe you suka kan. I dont know whether this is true or no but I heard that they dont have enough funding for the mantainance bcs yela costly.

but the only thing yang I suka in venice is the St. Mark’s square. dekat situ ada orchestra bands playing classic musics (my favourite!!)  dekat all these posh cafes and then you boleh la lari lari dekat the square kejar pigeons feeling feeling kat venice sikit haha. nanti the guys there akan offer untuk bagi you makanan burung so nanti the pigeons akan datang kat you pastu you boleh la amik gambar lawa lawa. but here’s the thing, some of them akan guna tactic cakap “don’t worry, it’s free” but honey let’s be real nothing is free in this world so eventually dia akan minta you bayar jugak so if you taknak bayar say no to them awal awal.

#3 Pisa

okay sekarunk (rempit sekali sekala) kita dah sampai tempat menara senget kegemaran semua orang hahaha. kelakar tau I tengok je semua orang try hard gila nak buat pose tolak bangunan tu, i macam hmm kalau buat peace je takleh ke? lols. okay so hm pisa ada apa eh? nothing much la except for the buildings and the histories behind them. but pisa is a greaaaat greaaaat place to shop!!!! dekat sini la tempat you nak beli all the souvenirs fridge magnet ke tshirt ke keychain ke and paling penting LEATHER STUFFS (real leathers) including handbags wallets etc etc at the best price. For the handbags, i suka la the designs here are pretty simple and elegant tak gaudy macam makcik makcik sangat hahaha takpa kan cakap katsini bukan ada makcik pun baca hahaha korang jangan bagi makcik jiran sebelah baca pulak mati i kena bash nanti. but yea, if pergi italy, girls, remember to save your money for an exclusive shopping sesh in Pisa. *wink wink

#4 Lauterbrunnen

“Eh tasha ni tak belajar geography ke zaman sekolah dulu Lauterbrunnen ni kan dekat swiss bukan italy”. ye sabar dulu thenah (masih senah yang sama) Lauterbrunnen ni memang la dekat swiss tapi swiss kan sempadan italy so the logic is that if you go to Italy, it would be a waste la if you tak include swiss in your itineraries sebab dekat je and you can easily go there by car hah gitu thenah nya.

When I first reached Lauterbrunnen, I felt as if I was in heaven. I swear *angkat tangan kanan* it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to so far. like cantik cantik cantik cantikkk gila!!! ha berapa kali cantik tu. Actually I dah pernah sampai Swiss in 2011 but masatu i pergi Lucerne je, tapi cantik jugak. I jenis yang into nature, and everyone knows that Swiss is all about nature. so I suka gila la Switzerland. Along the journey to swiss, you will be mesmerized by its charming view. If you’re lucky enough you akan nampak horses, and then all these picturesque villages and snow cape alps macam all those fairy tale kingdoms taktipu. It was soooo green macam dalam painting and sooo clean I rasa nak tidur atas rumput (ceh kemain berangan hingat ni cerita hindustan ke).

And Lauterbrunnen ni dekat je dengan Interlaken so pergi la jugak Interlaken and allow yourself to chill and take a stroll around the town. Jangan lupa singgah makan ice cream dekat this one halal cafe sambil jalan jalan tengok souvenirs hehe.

#5 Dolomite

Dolomite would be a perfect stop for those yang suka hiking. best la hiking kat situ rasa macam pengembaraan Hobbit lols. As it was summer during that time so macam ramai jugak la tourists from all over the world yang hiking masatu. I guess we took about one hour plus to reach the top and it was so worth it to eventually see the view from above. Mula mula tu macam pancit jugakla but then I nampak this one preggy lady hiking jugak and I was like wow okay jangan jadi perempuan lemah ahahah.

anyway dekat atas sana ada this one cafe that serves the best hot chocolate in the world! i takpernah rasa hot chocolate sedap macamtu so if you pergi sana dont forget to stop by the cafe (it’s the one yang dalam gambar kat atas ni) and enjoy a cup (or perhaps two) of hot choc okie!

#6 Milan

Milan, macam yang semua orang tahu, is the place where you could purchase all these stuffs from high-end brands be it Dior, Channel, Coach etc etc. but itu jela, tempat shopping, nothing else. mak mak suka la kot Milan but for me cam ala boring nya haha. but in Milan, kena be extra careful. if korang rasa cerita pick pocket i kat paris haritu dah cukup scary, cerita pick pocket kitorang dekat Milan kali ni is three times scarier I swear.

okay so cerita dia camni, we went to Milan by train dengan some of our dad’s friends sekali. so masatu baru nak masuk train, tapi macam a bit rushing because the train was about to leave already. parents i dengan their friends semua jalan kat depan, i dengan kakak i dekat belakang. so diorang masuk dulu the train. By the time i dengan nadia nak masuk it was so packed dekat door area so we couldnt masuk. so i dengan nadia masuk ikut the other pintu. so imagine eh dalam train tu our parents and the friends dekat the other side and kitorang dekat the other side. I dengan nadia masatu macam dah pelik la kenapa dekat area parents i macam packed gila with all these milano girls sedangkan banyak je space kat tempat lain.

pastu i nampak one of the girls like buat buat tanya pasal the route dekat my dad and his friends. masa my dad tengah jawab tu tetiba my dad’s friend nampak zip knapsack my dad dah terbukak tau. pastu tetibe je one of the girls shouted as if one of them was sexually harassed and then marah marah pastu they keluar from the train because masatu train tak gerak lagi. then my dad punya kawan punya wife checked her handbag and purse dia dah takda. pastu kitorang semua got off the train and my dad dengan kawan kawan dia semua pergi kejar la those ladies. okay ni sumpah macam movie taktipu i should hv recorded it tapi tulah things happened too fast.

my dad and his friends sempat kejar and tangkap the two ladies je because the rest dah went separate ways. masatu dorang dah masuk elevator tau but kitorang sempat tahan pintu tu. bila dah dapat tahan tu, they threw off the purse yang dorang amik (haa tahu takut ee tarik rambut kang jk). but dorang taknak bagi kitorang tengok what do they have inside their bags. Pastu my dad, shouted at her, “ I WANNA SEE YOUR BAG RIGHT NOW” i sumpah takpernah tengok my dad garang cemtu i taktahula masatu I amazed ke i takut hahaha. tapi guys perempuan ni gila sumpah. she was like “Okay you wanna see? alright” pastu dia angkat baju dia and showed everything. I mean literally everything. masatu like everyone yang ada dekat the train station was staring at us i taktahula perempuan ni gila ke gila tapi memang gila ah i rasa dia ter minum ketum kot instead of susu masa dia kecik.

pastu my dad and the guys insist jugak nak tengok her bag pastu ada this one italian lady datang and helped us. dia kata la yang she was also in the train at that time and she witnessed the moment the girls took our stuffs. pastu baru la the police came and all. sooo guysss Milan is definitely one of the pick pockets’ targeted spot yela because it’s Milan and semorang was expected to carry lots of cash there kan so pls pls be extra careful. if your friends or relatives ke nak datang Milan, pls remind them about this. 

Alright so tu jelah kot apa i nak cerita? haha. if yall are planning to go visit italy (or swiss), you might want to consider the places I’ve mentioned above. Just my two cents

I'm curious as to why Wau in both trailer and ost of Ejen Ali movie emphasized on this two things:

1) Bukalah matamu 2) Dato Othman words "Kamu tak tahu ke? Saya yang tubuhkan M.A.T.A ini semasa saya semula bangunkan Cyberraya dulu. Jadi dalam erti kata lain. Kamu semua. Kerja. Untuk. Saya!" Especially since these words are there in both trailers.

I can imagine the bukalah matamu, i think? I guess it's to give us hint that all this time, Ali, maybe M.A.T.A and Dato Othman included, has been ignorant about something in Cyberraya. Then things will happen in the movie that forced them to "buka mata". Can I be hopeful and think this will be related to Djin and his past that made Zayn and other chiefs planned to kill him? Since the trailers showed us that there will be the four chiefs' flashback. But I guess it's unlikely since Djin is dead.

And for Dato's words, I'm still confused. He probably say those because Ali is being disrespectful blah blah just as usual but why Wau emphasized it so much, like they want fans to remember the words? I really hope Dato will not be the traitor because Ejen Ali already have "friend but actually foe" trope with Cinco.

1. When did you start reading Fanfic (How old you were or how long ago)?

When I was probably...11 ish? so like 13 years ago

2. Do you have an AO3 account?

Yeh (LadyWisteria)

3. Do you read WIP (work in progress)? Why or why not?

All the time. I’m not picky about this at all. I’m a simple person. I see fic I think I’ll like? I read. doesn’t matter if it’s finished or not. I’ll make up my own ending til it is lol. also authors need that encouragement. finishing stuff is hard

4. What time of day is your ‘fic reading time’?

Usually late at night (like 1 a.m. and later..much later) but sometimes I’ll waste an afternoon instead (2 p.m. ish til I either have to go to work or I finish the fic)

5. How much time do you spend reading fic per week?

Not remotely as much time as I used, that’s for sure. Anywhere from an hour (if I’m rereading That favorite fic) to 2-4 hours if my friend has sent me a longfic again.

6. Do you listen to podfic (fanfic recorded like an audiobook)?

I...didn’t even know this was a thing tbh, so no. Sounds very neat but also I don’t listen to audio books anymore bcus my attention span re: audio input has gotten so bad over the years I can’t focus for more than a few minutes. 

7. What’s your favorite fic genre to read?

AUs AUs AUs. and fantasy. and fantasy AUs (although good long AU fics are harder to find). I am a very simple person. I see magic mentioned, I read. I also read a lot of romance fic (proving once again that fanfic writing is often better than mainstream original writing, bcus romance is one of my least favorite YA/movie genres). I don’t read as much of them but I also love mystery and paranormal fics

8. Are there any genres that you tend to avoid?

Super angsty no happy ending type stuff. “Major Character Death” is an automatic nope lmao (unless the summary looks reaallyyy interesting or it was recc’d to me). Tragedy is definitely Not my thing

9. What tag(s) do you track?

I don’t track any fic tags (I stopped tracking tags at all since Tumblr changed it from “keeping track of new posts in said tag” to “dropping random posts from that tag into the middle of your dash, and usually the same three”)

10. How do you find new fic?

Nowadays I mostly just read what friends send me or the new stuff a very few writers I follow post, but sometimes I also come across stuff through Twitter or Tumblr and curiosity wins out

11. How do you organize your fic bookmarks?

I..don’t? Is this a thing people do?? If I wanna reread something I either search through my bookmarks by title/author or just. filter by fandom. 

12. Do you subscribe to authors or stories?

Yeh. I only keep up with a very select few of them though. altho part of that is due to several of them being people I followed on fanfic.net years and years ago and never unfollowed, even though our interests may no longer be the same. (the other part is me going “oh I’ll read that later” and then just. never doing it.)

13. What is your favorite fanfic trope?

fake dating and bed sharing are always good

14. What kind of plot line are you always here for?

“everything’s the same but they’re soulmates” (oh my god they were soulmates)

MAGIC

I really like in-between scene fics too. the events and character interactions that happen off-screen. I like writing those

15. What can an author do to make you love them?

write about my faves frequently

cool AUs

write about minor characters

good sense of humor

16. What can an author do to make you avoid them?

not into mpreg fics

a/b/o fics make me super wary I usually pass on those, even if the summary looks mildly interesting. they’re rarely if ever done in a way that isn’t rapey and gross

don’t care for fics period that have rapey scenes but you’re supposed to find them romantic

adult/minor ships

characterization is a big deal to me so if I don’t like how they handle the characters, especially faves I probably won’t be back

17. What do kudos mean to you?

when I get one I have a few seconds of “oh someone kinda liked this thing I wrote” and then I carry on about my day >.>;;; (I do appreciate them tho)

18. What kind of commenter are you (No comment, short comment, keyboard smash)?

I don’t comment as often as I mean to or wish I did, but when I do they’re loong comments (I’ve passed the AO3 character limit at least once kshg)

I tend to quote favorite parts and then react to them, and I like to theorize and ask questions about character’s thoughts at a certain part or what author imagines happens before/after the fic

19. Have you ever stopped reading a fic? Why or why not?

Yes. Once because I stumbled into a very sexually explicit fic when that was. Not at all what I was expecting (I was also very young lol), I think there was a very few I quit because they were boring or very poorly written, but most often I “quit” a fic for the same reason I don’t do audio books anymore lmao: because my attention span is sht and my motivation and commitment are extremely fickle things. I either forget or just wander away for a bit and then forget. Often I mean to come back and finish it; it’s just a matter of how long it takes. (I also second hand embarrassed out of a fic so hardcore that it’s been a whole 9 months since I’ve touched it khdfgd)

20. Have you ever read a fic more than once? What is it about that fic that makes you want to read it again?

YES. This requires like a minimum 4 separate posts to really answer but:

Behind Bricks and The Penance of a Killer by Deathbelle

this person is my fricking favorite author ever and these are two of my fricking favorite fics ever, I must’ve reread Behind Bricks 6 or 8 times now and Penance is the BokuAka-centric companion piece to my favorite fic of all time that I always wanted 

Mending Bonds and If the Heart Breaks, Does That Mean There’s No Home? by RussianSunflower3 

Mending Bonds is soft found family fluff centering on a very minor fave of mine and If the Heart Breaks is very angsty found family fluff that also focuses on some minor characters and it always hurts my heart but the ending and the soft middle always heal it right back up (“[Hanamaki] has a heart big enough for everyone in the world, and then some.” ohhhh my godd)

Boiled Frogs by ReginaGalaxia 

this one is. a really hard read centered around emotional abuse and manipulation and hoooo boy it is a rough read especially if you’ve experienced any of that personally but it’s so well written and the character dynamics are great and in its lighter moments it’s fricking hilarious. 

(bits and pieces of) The Roost by Ugglabarn 

 bits and pieces only bcus Roost has a lot of very heavy dark content that I’d have to be in a specific mood to reread the whole thing because it hurts my heart way too much but also it’s one of the best Fukurodani-centric longfics I’ve ever read (PLUS AN AU..!!) and I love love how they write the characters and how much focus there is on the minor members and ships and in its lighter moments Roost is also really funny the most recent chapter was hilarious

Expensive Hotel by Crown_of_Winterthorne

smut. explicit smut. excellent explicit smut with loving polyamorous boyfriends and plenty of consent discussion and kissing. my entire jam right there

Class 1-A Whomst? by Ya_Boi_Hal

this is the funniest chatfic I’ve ever read in my life and the first good chatfic I ever read. absolutely hysterical. also has some really good serious content in the middle and some Aizawa dialogue that punched me right in the feels. 12/10 will read again. sometimes I just randomly say “Mineta whomst??” and cackle to myself

I guess traitor! Tahu was a popular trope back when Bionicle fandom was at its peak?? and not everyone liked it apparently but I enjoyed this fic greatly every time I read it it was well written and had interesting OCs and I am actually highly tempted to go reread it again

and Asleep Beneath a Wheat Field by Feline Freak

this was a very peculiar little OC-centric one shot that was also very sad and I don’t know why it grabbed me like it did but I remember rereading it 3 or 4 times at least

21. Do you like sequels?

The fics I like don’t usually come with sequels but The Penance of a Killer is one so Yes

I guess? I haven’t read too many I don’t think but hey, more fic is more fic. Who’s gonna complain about that?

23. What do you wish more fic authors would do?

Write about minor characters more

24. What do you wish more authors would stop doing?

that thing where they latch onto one facet of a character’s personality - or worse, one that fandom made up - and write them as if that’s the only trait they have

25. Do you like one-shots or multi-chapter?

Multi-chapter. I mean both are great obviously but the majority of my faves are multi-chapter and obviously if I like a fic I’m gonna wanna spend as much time in that universe as possible

26. How long do you like chapters to be?

Usually I feel the longer the better. once in a while I’ll hit one that’s so long it’s kind of distracting but extremely rarely

27. What’s your favorite POV (point of view) to read (first, second, third)?

28. What do you think of OC’s?

I didn’t use to care for them very much but as I started reading fic by more advanced writers I found several I really liked. have a very small list of OCs from recent fics I’ve read I would actually kill a man for I love them so much

29. Do you download fic?

No, but seeing as my absolute favorite Bionicle fic vanished off the face of the earth several years ago and I cannot find anything about it an y wh ere sometimes I think about saving my faves. I never got to finish reading that fic and I am absolutely devastated every time I think about it.

best thing is when my friend and I buddy read a fic and send each other our favorite parts

Where Am I From? Malaysia Edition

1. favourite place in your country?

If we’re talking about states, because Malaysia alone has 14 of them (not cities, don’t get confused), I’ll have to go with my hometown which is the capital city and a state by itself, Kuala Lumpur (KL). It’s THE big city where everybody goes or wants to go. My house is in the suburbs on the outskirts of the city, but everything’s just really accessible where I live. Easiest and cheapest way to the city is by train, which I love doing. Lots of places to eat, lots of sights to see. Lived here all my life and I still haven’t scratched the surface of what it’s got to offer but it’s got some really cool places. It isn’t the cleanest or safest place on earth but hey, it’s home.

3. does your country have access to sea?

Yeah, we’re basically a peninsula so the coastal states have beaches and ports to the sea. I’ve not gone to all the states that do though. Sabah (a neighboring country of the East Coastwhich is NOT a state of Malaysia btw) is especially known for their beaches and seafood.

5. favourite song in your native language?

Hahaha my native language is honestly English since I can’t speak anything else, and I don’t listen to Malay or Chinese songs so NEXT

7. three words from your native language that you like the most?

I wouldn’t really call them my favorite but I like ‘em a bit, not just because of what they mean but the funny part is HOW we say it. With much needed exaggeration (and sometimes exasperation). 

First one’s ‘entah’ which can mean several things depending on context. It can mean ‘either’, ‘maybe’ or ‘possibly’ or just the *shrug* emoji expressing ‘I don’t know’. Example:

A: Kau nak makan apa? // What do you want to eat?

B: Entah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ // Beats me bruh

A: Oi, dia datang ke tak nanti? // Oi, are they coming or not later?

B: Entah dia datang, entah dia tak datang  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ // Maybe they’re coming, maybe they’re not coming, who knows what the future holds bruh

Second one is ‘mampus’ which literally means to ‘die’, get rekt or the ‘then perish’ meme. Example:

A: HEWWO ( o w o)

B: Mampus lah kau! // GO DIE!

A: Kau sudah siap kerja sekolah ke belum? // Have you finished your homework or not?

B: AAH tak siap lagi! Mampus aku nanti! // AAH no, I haven’t finished it yet! I am so dead!

Third one’s not even really a word. Well, it IS a word but it has no real meaning. It’s basically a filler word used as an expression to emphasize the gravity of something, or just to fill in anywhere and everywhere. The ever infamous ‘lah’. You can use it almost anywhere in the sentence - at the beginning, middle and end - and to put even more emphasis, just extend or amplify the sound. Compare these two sentences:

A: Bosan. // I’m bored.

A: Bosan laaaaaaah // I’m so booooooored

A: Mana aku tahu? // How would I know?

A: LAH mana aku tahu?? // How was I supposed to know??

A: Sekejap! // Hang on a minute!

A: Sekejap-lah!! // Hold your DANG horses!!

9. which of your neighbouring countries would you like to visit most/know best?

Gosh I’ve only been to a few so I guess I’d like to visit the others like Philippines and Singapore! I don’t know which one I’d like to know best but I know Indonesia is one of the best places to go island-hopping cus they have so MANY. Also I’ve been to Sabah but not their beaches yet so I wanna go and taste their famous seafood~

11. favourite native writer/poet?

Only one comes to mind and that’s the late P. Ramlee. He could do it all. He acted, directed, sang and wrote his own songs. His films are the only Malay movies I enjoy watching. The comedies mostly, I was never into drama/romance too much. Here’s a whole documentary about him in case you’re interested (it’s an hour long but I cry every time I reach the end).

13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders?

If we’re not including religious beliefs into the mix, there are a few that I know of from both my Malay and Chinese sides of the family. Stuff like.. it’s bad to cut your nails at night cus it’ll shorten your lifespan or you’ll get chased by a spirit. Or if a girl sings in the kitchen, it means she’ll get married pretty soon. Or if a person has a stye in their eye, it means they’ve seen perverted things.

Yeah I know, they’re fuckin nuts.

15. a saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?

When you’re meeting up with friends, there’s always the one guy who’s still ‘on da way’. Also this entire video.

17. are you interested in your country’s history?

Kinda? A little? Maybe just the more modern history but not the ancient history like in the times of kings and queens, and half of it is because of the Malay propaganda most of our history books were re-written and messed up to praise the one major race above the others (wow sound familiar?)

19. do you like your country’s flag and/or emblem? what about the national anthem?

Eh it’s okay. I don’t remember all the words to the national anthem, I just pretended to sing it in school. The only time I’ve ever felt immensely patriotic was during this years elections.

21. if you could send two things from your country into space, what would they be?

I’ve no idea???

23. which alcoholic beverage is the favoured one in your country?

Majority of us are Muslim and we don’t drink alcohol, so I wouldn’t know. If I were to guess, I’d say Tiger beer?

25. would you like to come from another place, be born in another country?

Not really. I both hate and love my country and I can’t imagine myself being born anywhere but here.

27. favourite national celebrity?

Pfft I have none.

29. does your region/city have a beef with another place in your country?

Okay remember how I said Malaysia is made up of 14 states? You best believe at least one state has some major beef with another. I remember back in college, students that came from different states kept to their own respective groups and it’s not a secret that Malays are also pretty racist towards each other, just because we grew up with different backgrounds, accents, dialects etc. Sometimes it goes all the way back to ancient history, like back when the states were still clans and tribes and they’ve just carried their family feuds to this day.

My city though, I don’t think so. The capital city is like the neutral hub where everyone from all over comes to meet and mix around. Or maybe some states might have beef with us, I wouldn’t know.

Single By Choice

Here another opinion I want to share. Hearing so much complaint about this topic. People come to me and talk about spouse, ex-spouse, future spouse and how lonely they are without spouse. I’m no adviser, perhaps I can lend them my ears and some opinion which come out but somehow not understanding them. 

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةًۭ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ

By mean; “For you God created spouses (of wives) of your own kind, then from your wives He created for you descendants of the offspring, and to you He gives good sustenance.” - (An-Nahl :72)

Since I’m not having any serious relationship, it really intriguing when people come and share their feeling. For me, having a feeling is wonderful. At least you know your heart is functioning. Well here I share some Quran quotes. For those who really scared of not having one, and for those who are really looking for one. I heard so many version of love story. So many complaint on marriage story. What exactly people looking for? Perfection? Or a lifetime partner?

There goes one of my colleague, whom ended his marriage recently. He shares a lot about his feeling and dreams girl to be his wife. And yes, it scares the hell out of me. Well, he rambling a lot perfection in relation. “Abang cari yang boleh pakaikan stoking, layan suami. Yang tahu tangungjawab sebagai isteri” Looking at him, and I thinks “If this is what you’ve been looking, you’ll meet the dead end” Hearing him gives me so much thing to think. Well, people make mistakes. So does him and his wife. But does whatever his wife did in his past, will punish whoever gonna be his future? What does actually wife mean in men’s life? Spouse? general worker? friend? best friend? lover? what exactly does you think when first you come and seek a hand? 

Referring Quran quotes above, if you ever wonder your spouse looks like, you may see your reflection in mirror. Them, is wearing another face of yours. If you are from 50kg, why would you ever imagine 60kg opponent be your sparring? Somehow, whatever we asked for, is beyond our efforts. This is why, in An-Nahl of phrase 72, it written that “God created spouses of your own kind”. Why oh just why, we wants someone who isn’t of our own kind? This demanding people ask is always be a reason most of human is less grateful. What can I brief, for us to found someone who will be our lifetime partner, we have actually looks more on ourselves. The way we prioritize things. More and more people ranting about getting a good spouse,  a wife who can nurture kids, which leads to be a very good family, a husband who looks like a hero in their favorite novels. Novel is a fiction, creating by dreamer writers. It a dream. 

The fact that we are denying that someone we love or like is also a human, making ourselves expecting too much from them. That’s what I draw from people talks. They expecting too much, hoping too much, dreaming too much. Life isn’t a fantasy. It a journey, you have to be a seamen, fight the wave, play with tidal. 

                             خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا

By mean: "He (God) created you from a single person (Adam), then He made of his wife (Eve)" - (Al-Zumar:16) 

Some might think their current relation is something they might be tired with. Some fight over years but still be in love. What does made you stay in one relation? What make you think she/he is the one? What exactly you see in their eyes? What makes you tie the knot? A spouse is made up from part of you (for men) or your are made up from part of him (for women). And most of people I met, they found each other within the time they don’t really expect to find a soul. A spouse is a secret He (God) kept from us. So, why do we worried? He has already created our spouse, what we have to do is striving to meet the best one. I once heard someone says “It is true that our fate is destined by Him, He already knows how we ended. But in examination, a teacher expecting A will pass a test whilst B will fail because A have a good effort but not B. However, if B making changes, B also can success the test”  Hence, this saying shows that our fate can be changed by us. God expecting by the efforts we put on something. However, God work is unquestionable. It might be something lack which made use fail in whatever we do.

It took me more than 2 days drafting this post. Which is so absorb talking and writing about this. So to sum up my headline “Single By Choices”, here is thing goes; 

Someone once asked me, what is single by choice? So i guess perhaps any other people who happen to read this post also gonna question this one also. Let me brief, so many people are worrying their future and most hot topic is their lifetime partner. So single by choice doesn’t mean that your are denying any relationship or being so introvert or hate men/women. It just mean that you’re waiting faithfully and patiently for someone to come in right time. I don’t say if you have someone special right now, it is a waste of time, what I try to say is that instead of searching and worrying for the right someone, let just follow the flow. fix ourselves first. question, if do we really ready to share our love with someone? Are we really good enough to be someone’s partner? Do we deserved a good someone? Don’t try to change other, we can only control and change our own. Hence, do it to ourselves. Self-love is more important. If we can’t love ourselves, why do we expect people to love us? 

I will not taking any more phrases for this post. Somehow it looks draggy. Thinking on spending my weekend by watching some movie. But let just see how it goes. So bye for now. Anything, may drop your thinking/advise. Thank you for reading.
