How can people be so blinded by their hate for harry or why are larries assuming everything is all a lie and a part of fake pr. The attacker is literally in jail and will probably be appearing in court. They were actually named. Publicly! How and why would harry and his team fake this. An interesting bit from Pix's stream from Minecraft SOS SMP today (approx 1hr 52m into the stream) about fanbase creativity, with mention of Empires SMP.

Question from Twitch chat: "If we're rejecting lore can I substitute my own?" Pix: "Honestly, the fanbase has always been better at coming up with stories than we have. There, I said it. I feel like whatever you do, even if it's not intended to be a story, people are just gonna write a story about it now. Which is, of course, an immense privilege to be part of a community where there are talented enough people and imaginitive enough people to take the silly block game and turn it into the source of their own, like, creative endeavours, whether it be writing, art, whatever it is. It's always a really cool part of being part of projects like this. "And I think part of the issue on… I'm not gonna say the issue of Empires SMP, because we still had a lot of fun with it - it wasn't like it caused a huge problem - but I feel like a lot of us were trying to live up to the pictures that other people were drawing in their own heads, instead of just… y'know, hanging out and playing Minecraft the way it was originally envisioned. "Empires was meant to have a little bit of, like… y'know, that kingdom rivalry, struggle for resources, struggle for power kind of stuff, but it was not meant to be this sort of epic fantasy story it turned into. And then we tried to do Season 2 like that from the beginning, and for some people it worked, but for others it didn't, y'know?"

exceptional show that should absolutely not see a revival.

i think that it existed once, in a gigantic maelstrom of crude, offensive, humanitarily insulting writing, and that it was ok ONCE. the content, however briefly in the context of the time it was released, was substantive, and imaginitive, and unlike any other show on tv, and i think ultimately it was a good thing. but it said its piece, and its message and themes are still perfectly crystallized from when it aired, so we dont need any more of it.

god knows we dont need another south park family guy rick and morty OFFENSIVE IS FUNNY show. shows like that which dip into the well of cruelty in humor in perpetuity dont really care much about the "message" theyre trying to convey. i really think they just like easy jokes, which greatly disarms any credibility in my eyes. XRA is set apart from them (to me) because it was a joke that told itself once, which is all it needed.

i still rewatch it from time to time. that show is somethin else. and also extremely hard to recommend to people.

I've seen a lot of Duskmourn speculative criticism so I just wanted to express how excited I am for it. The concept reminds me of House of Leaves, which I love, but it's different enough to feel fresh. The monster designs we've seen so far feel imaginitive and genuinely chilling, the same way I felt a long time ago when I first started playing magic and saw the original Phyrexians. For people who are upset about TVs... I have always assumed the multiverse was large enough to house all variety of technology types, it just makes sense.

Keep it up Mark, and know that Duskmourn is highly anticipated for some of us.
