That Wasn't In The Script (Actor AU)
//// Btw this contains hints to spoilers from the last episode/ chapter 139 so if for some reason you haven't watched it, DO NOT READ!!!!///
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So tell me, guys. How do you guys feel knowing that the Attack on Titan is officially over? Like, that show will forever go down in history!"
Allen, the host of the official Attack on Titan talkshow Attack the Talk, asked your castmates and yourself. You were currently sitting on the stage in between Eren Jaeger and Jean Kirschtein, with the rest of your cast, Mikasa Ackermann, Armin Arlert, Connie Springer, Levi Ackermann, Reiner Braun and Annie Leonhart. You could see a few of your old castmates, those who were killed off in meaning, behind the stage watching with smiles on their faces.
"Let's start with you Ms. L/n, shall we?" The audience clapped as you bashfully smiled at Allen. Sure, you were a main character in one of the best fictional TV shows of the century. But you sucked at public speaking. At least acting was really only your castmates and wonderful team watching at the moment.
You cleared your throat before speaking, feeling your friends' eyes on you and giving you supportive looks.
"Well, Allen, this franchise has been part of my entire life. Literally. I started this show when I was about 9 and now I'm 19. So it ending is almost like the end of my childhood, which may seem kind of sad but it was fun while it lasted and I got to meet these wonderful people that I can joyfully call my family." You feel Eren lift his long legs onto your lap and you stop talking and stare at him.
"Get your nasty ass feet off of my dress."
Eren shook his head playfully and gave you a charming smile. "Nah. You said we're family and family lets their family rest their feet on them." You knock his feet off of you.
"Yeah but not when they're wearing a thousand-dollar dress. Let me finish my little speech, Jaeger." Eren held his hands up defensibly, causing the crowd to burst out laughing from the scene of the dynamic between you two.
"As I was saying before bird-boy over here interrupted. It's easy to say that I'll talk to these people outside of the show and end up never speaking to them again like other casts do but it's different. I grew up with these people so throwing them away would be like throwing my childhood away as well."
The crowd clapped at your little speech, along with your castmates. Expect Eren was literally clapping in your ear. "You're so childish, Eren." You chuckle.
"Only for you, L/n." He grins.
"How about... Connie! How do you feel about the show ending?" Allen moves on to hear other, hopefully just as sentimental, speeches.
Connie ponders for a moment, trying to figure how to answer the question as truthfully as possible. He fiddles with his expensive tie before seemingly having his words together.
"At least we won't be drug tested every three months. I'm gonna be fried every day!"
"No fucking way he just said that." You whisper.
The crowd falls into an awkward silence at Connie's... revelation. You watch as Jean smacks the back of his head. "Shut your bald ass up, Springer. We're 19 and 20 so smoking gas is still illegal, dumbfuck." Jean whispers harshly. Connie's face falls.
"Oops."
"Um... I'll just... can we edit this out?" Allen asks nervously. The cameraman shakes his head. "We're live, remember?" Levi lets his face fall into his hands, mumbling profanities to himself.
"Time for Audience Q & A!" Allen changes the subject quickly. That seemed to distract everyone watching in the crowd as people began to raise their hands, hoping to be picked.
Allen hopes down into the crowd and makes his first decision. "You! With the... Y/n x Smiling Titan shirt?" You hear Eren cackle beside you as you elbow him. "Shut it, you howling witch."
A man who looks like he hasn't showered since the premiere of the show and seemed a bit too old to be fixated on a show involving younger kids was chosen. Not to mention he had shipped you with the smiling Titan.
"He looks like a Discord mod," Jean mutters in your ear.
"Jean, that's mean. It may be true but it's mean." Jean rolls his eyes and gives you a cocky grin.
"It's only mean if it's not true."
"This question is for Y/n." The man announced into the microphone. He had a lisp and not the cute and barely noticeable sort that Armin had. Jean and Eren slightly stiffen.
"Let him ask you some weird shit, Y/n. I'll beat his ass on camera." Eren mutters. Jean watched warily as you waited patiently for the man's question.
"Who is your favourite character from the entire show? And why as well." The man's spit sprays into the mic due to how severe his lisp was and Allen visibly winced.
You think for a moment.
"Probably Eren's character." Eren jumps out of his seat and starts acting like a child.
"Boom, she said I'm her favourite. You all can suck my di-" You grab Eren's sleeve and yank him back into his place next to you.
"Sit your grown ass down."
"Sorry."
"Someone please take the boy into his seat." Levi pleads quietly while rubbing his temples. He had dealt with Eren for the past ten years and still couldn't handle his... personality.
"As I was saying. Eren is probably my favourite character because of how tragic he is and what he represents. He wanted freedom so badly that he never realized that he was a slave to it, which is such a great parallel if you think about it. He purposely hurt his friends in order to protect them too, knowing that they'd be the ones to kill him. I could go on for hours about this but we're on a time crunch so I can't." You chuckle nervously. You feel Eren smiling at you widely from your analysis of his character.
The man seemed content with your response and sat down. "Alright, who's next?" A girl raises her hand and Allen seems to think she's normal enough and hands her the mic.
"Hi, my name is Amelia and just want to say that Jean is so fine and that he doesn't look like a horse most days." Eren, Connie and yourself had to stifle laughter as you watched Jean pursed his lips, contemplating how to take that comment. Allen sighs and raises the mic to his lips.
"Please refrain from... whatever that was."
More people asked questions that were surpringly normal and everyone on stage at least answered five times. A little boy, around the age of 9, eventually got the mic and he looked extremely nervous to talk. His mom gave him encouraging words and he took a deep breath.
"H-Hi my name is Jackson. I-I was wondering if I could take a picture with everyone to show everyone at show-and-tell." He asked poliety. Your heart melted at how adorable the little boy was. You wave up him up on stage.
"Of course! Come up here, little man." Jackson broke out into a toothy grin and ran up to the stage as fast as his little legs could carry him. Armin helped him up onto the stage and Jackson's mom came closer to the stage to take the picture.
Jackson stood in front of you and you placed two hands on his shoulder. You smiled and felt someone wrap an arm around your shoulder before the picture was taken. It was Eren.
Jackson, after the picture was taken, turned around and wrapped his arms around your waist. "Thank you so much!" He exclaims. You wrap his arms around him as well, "Of course Jackson. If it's alright with your mom, I would love it if she sent the picture to me.". Jackson's eyes widened.
"Mommy, please send her the picture!".

As the end of the talk show neared, Allen had returned to his seat and faced the camera.
"As the end of the last Attack the Talk episode nears, I wanted to do something special for the cast. I've gathered everyone going back all the way to season 1 right now and we are going to play a special video we've prepared for today. Everyone, if you could come out."
You watched as people you hadn't seen for years entered the stage. People such as Petra, Carla, Marco, Moblit. Everyone. You saw Sasha and Historia, who you hung out with just as much as the rest of the cast but you were still excited to see them.
Everyone gathers in front of the big screen, waiting to see what the crew has prepared for a final goodbye.
"You guys all worked hard, whether you were killed off in the first episode or survived until the very end. You all played a vital role in the story that is Attack on Titan and we all thank you. So we decided to put together a montage, if you will, to share your behind-the-scenes experiences one more time. I really hope you enjoy it."
You turn your attention to the big screen as it begins to play. The first scene was of you, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin as little kids. It was a scene from the very beginning of season 1. You guys were running around the town until you tripped over a loose rock and flew through the air. You still had the scar from the rough landing. You heard the director yell a stammered, "C-Cut! Someone gets the medic!".
The scene cut to the next, where Eren was yelling at Hannes for being a lazy drunk before he stumbled over his words, causing Hannes to burst out laughing. "Cut!"
Blooper after blooper, you watched yourself grow up. And it felt really weird. Nostolgic but extremely weird. There was a scene where Connie and Jean were supposed to be arguing about plans to kill Eren during Season 4 but things turned... odd.
"Bro if you don't watch what you're saying, I might have to dick you down!" Connie screams passionately. Jean scoffs. "You wish you could dick me down the way I dicked your dad down!" Jean screams back.
"Jokes on you, my dad got turned into a Titan!" You stare at Jean, who looks like he is about to run into oncoming traffic. He makes eye contact with you and begins to stammer quietly.
"We were joking, I swear!" He whispers harshly. You pat his bicep. "It's okay, Jean. I support you."
"Go to hell."
The scene shifted into a picture where Jean and Connie were about to be turned into titans in the last episode but instead of having their arms around each other's shoulders, like scripted, their hands rested on each other's asses.
You lean into Jean's shoulder and let out a muffled laugh. "Shut up before I make you bald as Connie." He threatened lowly. "And how would you do that, mate?"
"I'll shave your head in your sleep."
Your eyes widen in horror at his statement. "Please don't! I love my hair." You frown. Jean shrugged and stretched an arm around you and rested his arm. "I'm not an armrest, horsey."
"Fuck off."
The very last scene was when everyone had visited Eren's grave, a sentimental moment in the show.
Okay, not really.
"Bro really had to wipe out 80 percent of the population, huh." Mikasa scoffs beside you. You shake your head. "Right? Like if you're gonna wipe out humanity, do it right. He really let us stop him with only 20 percent left. Weak!" You look down at the grave.
A fork can be seen flying across the camera and hitting you in the head. "What the fuck?!" You screech, searching around for the culprit.
"Stop insulting my character!" Eren yells as he runs into the frame and tackles you. Before you could hit your head on the ground, Eren placed his hand behind your head to make sure you didn't injure your head. But he still had to get payback.
You could hear the director sigh from behind the camera and mumbling about taking a smoke break. Suddenly, Sasha had run into the frame as well and jumped on Mikasa and Connie and you watched as everyone began running around like children, tackling each other and laughing.
The video faded into black and remained blank until two words in white cursive faded into view.
Thank You.

Hi ! Do you write mlb fics?🤗
I do! I'm working on a gabenath fic, a crossover fic between trollhunters/tales of arcadia and mlb post ny special, and a bit of Lukanette fics.
I started to do the Lukanette Month back in June, but I got burnt out and haven't really finished any fics that I started though I have been meaning to get back into writing them!
Thank you for asking!

So, I have been really obsessed with Sense and Sensibility since April. And today because it was a person's birthday that requested a specific pairing (spoilers) I started writing them and am hooked.
Today I posted the first chapter:

📃 Ever written something inspired by someone elses fic?
Actually yes! My fic was inspired by this fic by @isolacaramella let me tell you I am so happy it was!
And my fic was inspired by @weirddreamergirl art piece here!
To be honest I miss writing for Jaime and Brienne, but the muse has been inactive for a while on that score. And I try and think of them fondly, but for now we've said goodbye until we say hello again.

Rereading Sense and Sensibility and the more I read the more I'm assured that Eilnor should have ended up with Colonel Brandon instead of Edward.
From the first of their aquantience she has been in his corner, and has declared very passionately as well as logically to Marianne in his defense of character. And furthermore when Willoughby makes fun of him declaring him a man that "all like but none take notice of" seems to only make her defend him all the more.
Thoughts for later.

Shut Up and Kiss Me
AN: another ficlet! this is a result of a couple of prompt lists i saw and was inspired by (there are like 4 other prompts i was inspired by also that are ~in progress~ so be on the look-out for those if you happen to enjoy this one 😉).
(Un-beta'd)
This is it, you think. This is the day you finally snap and murder him.
Rated:  T Words: 892 Pairing: Poe Dameron x GN!Reader Warnings: kissing, arguing, a little cursing...i think that's all. AO3
----
“Dameron, if you interrupt me one more time— Maker, help me.”
It’s the middle of the night. You’re exhausted and filthy and the last thing you want to do right now is argue with the posterboy of the Resistance yet again over how your kriffing ship should be maintained.
Unluckily for you, he doesn’t seem to care what you want.
“I’m just saying–”
“I don’t care! This is my ship. Go worry about your own!”
Your aggravated words echo through the mostly empty hangar as you turn away from him, signaling that you’re finished with the conversation. He doesn’t take the hint, however, and as soon as you reach for your tools, he’s running his mouth again.
The sound of his voice makes the blood rush in your ears and you have to close your eyes in an effort to calm yourself.
This is it, you think. This is the day you finally snap and murder him.
Clenching your jaw you exhale in frustration and swiftly turn to face him again. “Maker, will you just shut up?!”
He stops mid-sentence, mouth hanging slightly agape as he stares at you in shock and, for the briefest of moments, he is silent. But then the shock wears off and his irritatingly handsome face contorts in annoyance, a fire igniting in his eyes.
“Why don’t you come over here and make me!” he retorts, raising his eyebrows in challenge as his hands fall defiantly to his hips.
You tilt your head at his words, eyes narrowing slightly as you continue to glare at him.
‘Make me,’ he says. With pleasure.
You don’t remember moving, but suddenly you’re right in front of him, invading his space the way he always seems to invade yours. It throws him off, you can tell by the look in his eyes as they study you.
You realize too late that getting so close to him was a huge mistake. This close, you can smell him, can feel the warmth of his body, can see how soft his gorgeous curls look, can see the many shades of brown in his annoyingly beautiful eyes—
Oh. Oh, shit.
Your eyes widen a little, flicking briefly to his lips before you can stop yourself and he notices. Something in his gaze shifts and you swallow thickly in anticipation.
“Do you wanna kiss me or kill me? I honestly can’t tell.”
His voice is low, rough, and just a little bit teasing. You flush slightly in annoyance and cross your arms over your chest defensively.
“Right now? Definitely the second one.”
He bites his bottom lip in an effort to hold back a smile and you mentally curse yourself when it causes your heart to stutter a little.
“And before?” he asks innocently, moving somehow even closer to you.
“Before what?” you ask, holding his gaze and fighting the urge to step back and create space between you.
He allows himself to smile a little this time and the action momentarily draws your attention back to his mouth. When your gaze returns to his, there is a teasing glint in his eyes.

Love is a Game (For Fools to Play)
AN: So, hi. This is the first fic I’ve written in six years (OMG), and my first starring the lovely Poe Dameron, so please be gentle. I’m so sorry this is so long, btw, I meant for it to be a drabble and, well, obviously got a little carried away lmao.
Also, while I wrote this with a female reader in mind, I’m pretty sure it reads as gender neutral (please correct me if that’s wrong, I’ve read this so many times at this point I might be blind to it lol).
(Un-beta'd)
The Resistance has finally found a safe place to lay low and is celebrating their much-needed downtime with silly party games (and alcohol, obviously).
Rated: T Words: 4,600+ (idek y'all) Pairing: Poe Dameron x Reader Warnings: alcohol use, mild cursing, kissing, mutual pining, friends to lovers. AO3
You throw back a shot of Jet Juice and grimace as it burns down your throat.
“Shit, this stuff is terrible. Don’t we have anything palatable?”
Poe sits beside you on the floor of the common room, his own shot of Jet Juice between his fingers. “We’re on a secret base in the middle of nowhere. What were you expecting? A Takodana Quencher?”
You laugh, grabbing another shot. “No, but I’d kill for a Starfire 'skee right about now. Maker, I’d even settle for a Tsiraki, at least it tastes good.”
“Eh, I’m more of a Starshine Surprise kind of guy,” he jokes, taking another shot.
You hum in agreement, only kind of processing what he’s saying as you too take another drink. You feel pleasantly buzzed and you find yourself wishing you felt this good all of the time. “That stuff’ll kill you, you know.”
His entire left side is already pretty much flush with your right, so when he chuckles and tries to bump your shoulder with his, he almost falls over into your lap.
“Maker, Dameron, why are you always throwing yourself at me?” You snort, slapping a hand over your face when it’s louder than you anticipated; apparently you’re more sloshed than you’d originally thought.
He rights himself and tries bumping your shoulder again, but only succeeds in pressing himself further into your side. “You’re irresistible, I just can’t help it.”
You huff a laugh and turn to answer him, realizing too late how close his face is to yours. His nose bumps your cheek and his breath fans against your lips as you lock eyes with him. His face is flushed and his eyes are a little hazy and your breath catches in your throat when his gaze dips briefly to your mouth.
You should lean back, give the both of you some space, but you can’t. He’s warm and solid and he just smells so damn good. He licks his lips absently, eyes roaming over your face.
“You know,” he whispers, raising a playful eyebrow, “if you want to kiss me, baby, all you have to do is ask.”
A strangled laugh escapes you as the tension breaks and he smiles and leans away, searching for another drink. He wrinkles his nose when he can’t find one and looks over at you. “We need more shots.”
Just then, someone across the room yells something about playing a game and mostly everyone cheers. Poe looks at you, raising his brows in askance. You shrug and begin the process of standing to your feet (which you don’t remember being so difficult…). Poe is up before you and helps you up the rest of the way, his hand grasping your upper arm.
“You good?” he asks, watching you wobble a little as he lets you go.
You nod and pat his shoulder. “Thanks for the assist, Black Leader.”
He snorts and shakes his head. “Come on, let’s go see what the game is.”
When you make it to the crowd of people playing…whatever it is they’re playing, a game is already apparently in full swing. You can’t really see what’s happening, but everyone’s cheering and laughing. You try to ask the person closest to you what’s going on, but it’s so loud, they don’t hear you. You look at Poe, Poe looks at you and you both shrug and turn back to the crowd to wait for an opening.
After a moment, there is one and you grab Poe by the arm and push your way through, dragging him behind you. When you emerge, you finally see what everyone’s so worked up about.
Spin-the-Bottle. They’re playing Spin-the-kriffing-Bottle.
You sigh in disappointment. You’ve never been into this game, even when you’re plastered. The thought of kissing some random person that you don’t even get to pick sounds like the furthest thing from fun to you. But Poe is laughing and cheering beside you (and has somehow found another drink) and you know you won’t be able to get him to leave, at least not right now, so you resign yourself and try to enjoy the antics of your comrades.
It becomes clear pretty quickly that they’re not playing a normal game of Spin-the-Bottle. According to the girl beside you (apparently named Mor), it’s some weird mash-up with another game she can’t recall the name of, but the gist is that a person spins the bottle and goes into a closet with whomever it lands on.
“What do you do once you’re in the closet?” you ask, sure that this must only be fun if you’re totally trashed.

Today’s reading from the ancient books of Proverbs and Psalms
for may 18 of 2024 with Proverbs 18 and Psalm 18, accompanied by Psalm 61 for the 61st day of Astronomical Spring, and Psalm 139 for day 139 of the year (with the consummate book of 150 Psalms in its 1st revolution this year)
[Proverbs 18]
Whoever pulls away from others to focus solely on his own desires
disregards any sense of sound judgment.
A fool never delights in true knowledge
but only wants to express what’s on his mind.
When wrongdoers arrive, disgrace is right there with them,
for shame is the companion of dishonor.
Words bubble up from waters deep within a person;
a stream gushes from the fountain of wisdom.
It is wrong for a judge to show partiality to the guilty
or to rob the innocent of justice.
When a fool’s lips move, a fight breaks out;
it’s as if his mouth is begging for a beating.
The mouths of fools are their destruction,
and their lips entrap their very souls.
Whispered gossip is like a delicious first course:
it is devoured with pleasure and penetrates deeply.
Those who slack off at work
are no different from vandals.
The Eternal is known to be like a sturdy watchtower;
those who do right flee to Him for protection.
The rich think their wealth is their sturdy fortress;
they imagine it to be an invincible wall of security.
A proud heart precedes destruction,
and before honor is humility.
To respond to a matter before you hear about it
shows foolishness and brings shame.
The human spirit can endure a long illness,
but who can survive a crushed spirit?
Clever people go after knowledge to obtain it,
and wise people attune their ears to hear it.
The right gift at the right time can open up new opportunities
and gains access to influential people.
The first ones to tell their side of a story seem right
until cross-examined by their peers.
Casting lots can settle conflicts
and decide between powerful opponents.
Winning over an offended brother is harder than breaching a strong city’s defenses;
such fights are as tough as the iron gates of a castle.
Good words satisfy like a fine meal;
yes, good conversations are sure to satisfy.
Words have power in matters of life and death,
and those who love them will savor their fruit.
The man who finds a wife finds something good,
and the favor of the Eternal is indeed his.
The poor plead for help,
but the rich respond harshly.
Someone with many so-called friends may end up friendless,
but a true friend is closer than a brother.
The Book of Proverbs, Chapter 18 (The Voice)
[Psalm 18]
For the worship leader. A song of David, the Eternal One’s servant, who addressed these words to the Eternal after He had rescued him from Saul and his other enemies.
I love You, Eternal One, source of my power.
The Eternal is my rock, my fortress, and my salvation;
He is my True God, the stronghold in which I hide,
my strong shield, the horn that calls forth help, and my tall-walled tower.
I call out to the Eternal, who is worthy to be praised—
that’s how I will be rescued from my enemies.
The bonds of death encircled me;
the currents of destruction tugged at me;
The sorrows of the grave wrap around me;
the traps of death lay in wait for me.
In my time of need, I called to the Eternal;
I begged my True God for help.
He heard my voice echo up to His temple,
and my cry came to His ears.
Because of His great anger, the earth shook and staggered;
the roots of the mountains shifted.
Smoke poured out from His nose,
and devouring fire burst from His mouth.
Coals glowed from Him.
He bent the heavens and descended;
inky darkness was beneath His feet.
He rode upon a heavenly creature, flying;
He was carried quickly on the wings of the wind.
He took darkness as His hiding place—
both the dark waters of the seas and the dark clouds of the sky.
Out from His brilliance
hailstones and burning coals
broke through the clouds.
The Eternal thundered in the heavens;
the Highest spoke; His voice rumbled [in the midst of hail and lightning].
He shot forth His arrows and scattered the wicked;
He flung forth His lightning and struck them.
Then the deepest channels of the seas were visible,
and the very foundations of the world were uncovered
At Your rebuke, O Eternal One,
at the blast of wind from Your nostrils.
He reached down His hand from above me; He held me.
He lifted me from the raging waters.
He rescued me from my strongest enemy,
from all those who sought my death,
for they were too strong.
They came for me in the day of my destruction,
but the Eternal was the support of my life.
He set me down in a safe place;
He saved me to His delight; He took joy in me.
The Eternal One responded to me according to my goodness;
I kept my hands clean, and He blessed me.
I kept the ways of the Eternal
and have not walked away from my True God in wickedness.
All His laws were there before me,
and I did not push His statutes away.
I was blameless before Him;
I kept myself from guilt and shame.
That’s why the Eternal has rewarded me for my right living;
He’s rewarded me because He saw my hands were clean.
You are loyal to those who are loyal;
with the innocent, You prove to be innocent;
With the clean, You prove to be clean;
and with the twisted, You make Yourself contrary.
For You rescue humble people,
but You bring the proud back in line.
You are the lamp who lights my way;
the Eternal, my God, lights up my darkness.
With Your help, I can conquer an army;
I can leap over walls with a helping hand from You.
Everything God does is perfect;
the promise of the Eternal rings true;
He stands as a shield for all who hide in Him.
Who is the True God except the Eternal?
Who stands like a rock except our God?
The True God who encircled me with strength
and made my pathway straight.
He made me sure-footed as a deer
and placed me high up where I am safe.
He teaches me to fight
so that my arms can bend a bronze bow.
You have shielded me with Your salvation,
supporting me with Your strong right hand,
and it makes me strong.
You taught me how to walk with care
so my feet will not slip.
I chased my enemies and caught them
and did not stop until they were destroyed.
I broke them and threw them down beneath my feet,
and they could not rise up again.
For You equipped me for battle,
and You made my enemies fall beneath me.
You made my enemies turn tail and run,
and all who wanted my destruction, I destroyed.
They looked everywhere, but no one came to rescue them;
they asked the Eternal, but He did not answer them.
I beat them to sand, to dust that blows in the wind;
I flung them away like trash in the gutters.
You rescued me from conflict with the peoples;
You raised me up to rule over nations.
People who did not know me have come to serve me.
Strangers come to me, afraid.
As soon as they hear about me, they serve me;
Strangers who have lost heart
come fearfully to me from behind their high walls.
The Eternal is alive! My Rock is blessed,
and exalted is the True God of my deliverance—
The God who avenged me
and placed the peoples under me,
Who rescued me from all my foes.
Truly, You raised me up above my enemies
and saved me from the violent ones.
For this I will praise You among the nations, O Eternal,
and sing praises to Your name.
He is a tower of salvation for His king
and shows His enduring love to His anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.
The Book of Psalms, Poem 18 (The Voice)
A note from The Voice translation:
This Davidic psalm is also found in 2 Samuel 22. It expresses gratitude to God for saving him.
[Psalm 61]
God, listen to me shout,
bend an ear to my prayer.
When I’m far from anywhere,
down to my last gasp,
I call out, “Guide me
up High Rock Mountain!”
You’ve always given me breathing room,
a place to get away from it all,
A lifetime pass to your safe-house,
an open invitation as your guest.
You’ve always taken me seriously, God,
made me welcome among those who know and love you.
Let the days of the king add up
to years and years of good rule.
Set his throne in the full light of God;
post Steady Love and Good Faith as lookouts,
And I’ll be the poet who sings your glory—
and live what I sing every day.
The Book of Psalms, Poem 61 (The Message)
[Psalm 139]
For the worship leader. A song of David.
O Eternal One, You have explored my heart and know exactly who I am;
You even know the small details like when I take a seat and when I stand up again.
Even when I am far away, You know what I’m thinking.
You observe my wanderings and my sleeping, my waking and my dreaming,
and You know everything I do in more detail than even I know.
You know what I’m going to say long before I say it.
It is true, Eternal One, that You know everything and everyone.
You have surrounded me on every side, behind me and before me,
and You have placed Your hand gently on my shoulder.
It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out;
the realization of it is so great that I cannot comprehend it.
Can I go anywhere apart from Your Spirit?
Is there anywhere I can go to escape Your watchful presence?
If I go up into heaven, You are there.
If I make my bed in the realm of the dead, You are there.
If I ride on the wings of morning,
if I make my home in the most isolated part of the ocean,
Even then You will be there to guide me;
Your right hand will embrace me, for You are always there.
Even if I am afraid and think to myself, “There is no doubt that the darkness will swallow me,
the light around me will soon be turned to night,”
You can see in the dark, for it is not dark to Your eyes.
For You the night is just as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are the same to Your eyes.
For You shaped me, inside and out.
You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath.
I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe.
You have approached even the smallest details with excellence;
Your works are wonderful;
I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.
You see all things; nothing about me was hidden from You
As I took shape in secret,
carefully crafted in the heart of the earth before I was born from its womb.
You see all things;
You saw me growing, changing in my mother’s womb;
Every detail of my life was already written in Your book;
You established the length of my life before I ever tasted the sweetness of it.
Your thoughts and plans are treasures to me, O God! I cherish each and every one of them!
How grand in scope! How many in number!
If I could count each one of them, they would be more than all the grains of sand on earth. Their number is inconceivable!
Even when I wake up, I am still near to You.
I wish You would destroy all the wicked, O God.
So keep away from me, those who are thirsty for blood!
For they say such horrible things about You,
and those who are against You abuse Your good name.
Is it not true that I hate all who hate You, Eternal One?
Is it not true that I despise all who come against You?
Deep hatred boils within me toward them;
I am Your friend, and they are my enemies.
Explore me, O God, and know the real me. Dig deeply and discover who I am.
Put me to the test and watch how I handle the strain.
Examine me to see if there is an evil bone in me,
and guide me down Your path forever.

in defense of chapter 139 (spoilers!)
it's still hard for me to get my thoughts in order so this might be a little disjointed but:
the (seemingly) extremely unpopular opinion: i liked it. a lot.
first let me go over the things i'm !!!! about that don't need further discussion: EXTRA FUZZY CONNIE!!!! jean and connie live!!! jean and connie see sasha and get some closure!!!! lmao this is just the jean and connie show isn't it
okay next. did the chapter feel a little rushed? yes, of course. is there stuff i wish was elaborated on? yeah, no shit. i wanted to see how the battle with hallu-chan ended. i wanted to see historia's side of the story. i wanted to see ymir's side of the story. if yams ever decides to come out with a series of epilogues or something that go more in depth, i would 100% support that. i want more. however, i'm still happy with this chapter because even though it didn't answer all of my questions, it was thematically consistent with the rest of the work. the ending made sense with where the entire manga has been building up to. it wasn't some kind of ass pull that came out of nowhere.
on ymir... i'm a little conflicted on how her story ended. i interpreted her backstory like this: she was in "love" with fritz the only way she knew how to be. fritz slaughtered and enslaved ymir's people, and yet he gave her attention, favor (i'm assuming), and sex (which we know to be rape, but she probably did not). this of course isn't actually love, but to an orphan with quite literally nothing else and no one to teach her differently, it must be love, right? it's got all the right ingredients (but we know it has none of the necessary dynamic).
so with all of that, ymir had no concept of what love actually is until mikasa came along. mikasa, who, much like ymir, loved someone so much that she dedicated her whole life to him. who would willingly lay down her life for him, just as ymir did for fritz. they're incredibly alike wrt the people they love, but with this major difference: mikasa is able to put herself and the world first, even if it means killing eren, while ymir has chained herself, intentionally or not, to fritz for 2000 years. mikasa ends up being the real inspiration for ymir - that's why we saw her smiling at the end of 138, because she sees the real, true love between eren and mikasa, but mikasa is still free, so ymir can free herself too.
actually, now that i've typed all that out, the more i realize that i like it, i just wish we saw it, rather than me interpreting a whole character based on a handful of panels.
now i guess i'll talk about reiner and levi? first off, i'm so so so happy that they both survived. levi was arguably the most damaged character through the whole series, and reiner was actively suicidal - i know a lot of people thought they were going to die as the end to their character arcs, but i'm so glad they didn't. i'm very happy that they both get the chance to rest and heal from everything that happened. reiner gets the chance to figure out what he wants to do with his relationship with his mother (and he's still simping for historia alskdfjasld), levi can live quietly (with the kids!!!!!!). they've both found something new to live for and i love it
also,,, gabi and falco are so cute i love them so much (wish udo and zofia were here too tho,,,)
okay. to the meat of the chapter.
i can't fit all of my thoughts on eren here, i'd have to write a whole essay on him, but i will say a little. i didn't see this chapter as a character assassination at all - i saw it as us finally seeing what was under the hard, cold mask he's been wearing since the time skip. because like, we know eren. at his core, he's the same emotional person he's always been - more grown up for sure, and more of an edgelord, but still him? and he must have been in constant pain, seeing all of time all the time... my poor boy. and even knowing that he has become an irredeemable monster, he still wants to live with mikasa and his friends, winning their freedom at the cost of his own... that's tragic, man. that shit hurted.
"thank you for becoming a mass murderer for us" excuse me??? armin??? sir hello?? is this allowed hello??? armin what the fuck?
also,,, did eren reincarnate as a bird? is that what that was implying? what was up with the birds through the story then?
eren and armin finally seeing the world together... i am in Pain
hooooooly shit, that dina reveal was not at all what i expected out of this chapter. like i knew the theory was out there, but i didn't expect it to be confirmed at all? i've seen the interpretation that eren just directed her into shiganshina, or that he directed her straight to carla, and tbh i like the second one more. it's darker and more messed up and i just think it's neat. ymmv, though.
i don't know how anyone thinks this is a happy ending, rather than bittersweet or outright tragic. like sure, our favorite characters are alive (except the obvious), but the world is still massively fucked and will be for the foreseeable future. 80% of humanity is dead, there's probably even more wildlife gone, and most of nature has been absolutely flattened. ecologically speaking, eren might have pushed this world into a mass extinction. additionally, removing titan powers from the world wasn't a magic ticket to peace - all it did was level the playing field between countries, and we can see that where the alliance becomes ambassadors and it says in the narration "this fight won't end until either the eldians or the rest of the world is wiped out". the equivalent to this would be to magically remove all nukes from existing and stop them from being made in our world - would it magically bring peace? no. of course not. would it put countries on a slightly more equal footing? perhaps.
basically, what i'm trying to say is that the fight hasn't ended, it's only been brought down to a human v human level, rather than human v titan v technology. what the implications of that for the world are, i don't know, and i wish yams had elaborated on that a little.
what eren did, then, with the rumbling, was give back the world's choice. there's no more titan threat, no more of his friends being forced to fight and die in 13 years, no more babies born with their choice to fight already stolen from them. he gave them freedom by eliminating the titans - exactly what he said he was going to do.
also on that note, what is up with the jaegerists? it seems like in and before the rumbling, all the extremists died out? maybe? like floch and his ilk, and that's why they aren't rushing to massacre the rest of the world, but who really knows... i want more post-rumbling worldbuilding...
finally (i think), that brings me to mikasa. i'm... not mad about the way we see her story end, tbh. i've seen people saying she just stays on paradis forever with eren, alone and practically in exile, but i don't think that's it? like we only see the gang 3 years in the future. mikasa loved eren so much, she dedicated her life to him from the time they were 9, and in the end he died because she killed him. let that sink in, y'know? the love of her life didn't just die, she killed him herself. if it were me, it would take me a lot longer than just 3 years to heal from that. and i think that's what we see her doing there at the end - resting and healing from undoubtedly some of the worst moments of her life. healing from grief isn't a quick or linear process; you don't just get over something like that. i know the saying goes "time heals all wounds" but sometimes it doesn't.
if we saw her maybe 10 years down the line, it might be a different story. maybe she would be in a much better place, with her own new family and goals. maybe she would be worse off, still missing eren and stuck in the past. i don't think that would be the case, though who knows? but for 3 years in the future, i think chilling on paradis with the memory of eren was the right place to leave her.
here's what i like to think happens in the future (and this is why i love semi-open endings, because some things are concrete but there's so much left open to interpretation): over the years mikasa heals, as does the world. she goes traveling the world with armin, and sees the rest of her friends often. she and levi are close - you can often find them having tea together. on occasion, she returns to paradis to share stories of her adventures with eren('s grave). in the end, she lives according to her definition of happiness, whatever that may be now, and though she never forgets eren, she keeps moving forward, and much like reiner and levi, finds a new purpose in life.
annnddd... that's all. unless i come back to add something i forgot about later, but we'll see if that happens.

The complexity of Eren Yeager
After almost two weeks from the end of Attack on Titan I can finally write my opinion on Isayama’s protagonist: Eren Yeager.
Tumblr media
First of all I begin by saying that Eren was never my favorite character, not even after he switched 180 degree after the time skip. In the first season I found him too idealistic and judgmental because of his extremism, stubborn with angry issues, selfish who cares only about his feelings and ungrateful towards Mikasa.
Tumblr media
To be honest in the first season I was so full of his temperamental behavior that I wanted Mikasa to give him a foot in the ass, pardon my words, and move on with her life. And then second  season happened (chapter 50) when I finally saw him as a REALISTIC HUMAN being  and literally cried for him. I started to see him in a new light and then the time skip happened and I hated him even more then before.
Tumblr media
Probably you think that it was all because what he said to Mikasa, even if I am an Eremika shipper, that was not the main reason. The problem with his character, that I found nonrealistic and unidimensional, was that I did not get “his obsessions with freedom” and the all reason “because I was born into this world” was idiotic because it did not explain anything , it was an unrealistic reason.
From a physiological side I did not understood why he had to kill those kidnappers in cold blood at 9 years only because of taking Mikasa’s freedom. I get that he wanted to protect her and himself so he had to hurt them but how that scene is portrayed is like he was desperate and the main reason was steeling someone else’s freedom. It was an action that I found exaggerated.
And then after the time skip I found him even more unrealistic because he switched at 180 degree in Erwin and Armin and I was: “ How do you change from this blunt, tsundere, temperamental and emotional boy to a calculate, serious, liar, emotionless bastard ?” When I discussed this with my brother he told me that it was development but I wasn’t seeing development because to have a total turn in a character/temperament you have to grow up and learn from your experiences and even then you do not change 180 degree, where Eren changed after he saw the memories from the future. He did not lived those memories but he only saw them so realistic speaking I did not buy the all “development” . Most what you get from those memories is knowledge and depression NOT DEVELOPMENT! And I was right!
Probably I was one of the few fans that did not liked Eren’s character because of a logical approach and yes I disliked him because literally I did not understood his character at all till the end...
Tumblr media
And then 139 happened and I must thank  Isayama because thanks to one chapter were Eren explains himself to Armin along with his outburst I finally understood Eren Yeager and loved him because now I understood that his obsessions about freedom was a subconscious thought of desiring to be free when he knew he was not. I loved him because he had  development but not to a 180 degree character but as Eren Jaeger that we knew from the beginning, he stopped depending on others (Mikasa, Armin, Levi, etc.) and made the hard choices he had to . His development stands in the form of sacrifice and selfness because even if he was not free he wanted his friends to be free. He acknowledged and  buried his feelings together with all the selfish/human desires for the sake of the others. Eren was always a tragic character from the beginning and Isayama portraited that very good in the irony that he was the most enslaved character in the manga. Because of that it makes sense and is explained very logical his desire for freedom so bad and all the shitty things he had to do in order to save them all. Eren Yeager was one of the most complex tragic character I have ever read  and if you do not see that,  then you did not understood Isayama’s story and Eren’s character at all,  or maybe you are all 10 years and could not see the all picture here.
In conclusion Eren Yeager was a young man that fought for his people, his friends, the woman he loved but above all he fought for himself  and he was a boy born in a cruel world but that did not meant that he was not a human with real emotions, struggles, issues, desires. Thank you Hajime Isayama for creating Eren and this story!

#BuryTheScarfMikasa #BurnTheScarfMikasa
*contains talk about chapter 139, so do not read if you do not want to be spoiled. Heavily anti er*mika. Also, I'll be using Aaron/Ellen, just in case*
Hi Hi !! fellow Mikasa and Rivamika fans, and anyone else who stumbles across this who was gravely disappointed in Mikasa's ending. I've been somewhat of a lurker, and I've enjoyed seeing the fanart, reading the fics, and all the theories and analyses, so thank you to everyone who has shared their content. I don't usually share my thoughts so publicly ('cause I'm always nervous I won't communicate all my emotions properly), but I have this idea and I'd love to share it, and might as well take the opportunity to criticize 139.
My Thoughts On Mikasa's Ending and Her Scarf
After chapter 139, I was thinking about Mikasa's scarf and whether I wanted to continue imagining her in it anymore, e.g. when reading fics or fucking fantasizing lmao. See, the scarf used to be her indicator; it was very much part of her person. And, in the beginning, it represented warmth and comfort. After the traumatic experience of seeing her parents brutally murdered, we can't deny that, in the beginning, that's exactly what Aaron represented for her (warmth, safety, security, and comfort). But, overtime, we've seen how the scarf has come to represent Mikasa's over attachment to Aaron.
Over the series, we see Aaron Yoghurt and Mikasa grow apart, and the infamous line: "I've always hated you, Mikasa" is the final nail in the coffin. In this arc, we see Mikasa's crafted image of Aaron begin to crumble ('cause he's a fucking mass murderer now), and we finally see her take off that scarf. Thus, separating herself from Aaron. And when she finally put it back on to behead Aaron, I had hoped it was one final 'hurrah!'; one last moment to tie to the scarf before burying it. And how fitting would that have been for the very thing that once tied them together to free them both?
But, no. As we all witnessed in the last chapter, the scarf is still wrapped around Mikasa even three years later. We have Ellen Dove's pathetic lines: "Even after I die... I want to be at the front of her mind for a while! Ten years, at least!!!", paired with the final lines: "Thank you for wrapping this scarf around me Ellen."
Now, what the hell does that say to a reader? I get everyone's defensiveness about how it's okay for Mikasa to grieve. But the main issue is Yams' storytelling and how that portrays and reduces Mikasa as a character.
There was this blatant contrast of every single person moving on, doing something with their lives. Then, there is Mikasa, crying at the graveyard of a dead mass murderer. The scarf clings onto her like shackles, not allowing her to be free and live life. Not to mention the fact that in the same chapter, Mikasa was shown to have 'freed' Ymir from her abusive relationship, only to revert to the same behaviour a few panels later.
I'm not gonna go much deeper into it, but we all were able to draw parallels between Ymir-Fritz and Ere*ika, right? It's disturbing, it's alarming, and so very harmful that Yams wasn't even careful with word choice in displaying an abusive relationship. Instead, he painted it in a good light. So, you can see how in her final goodbye just how badly this has framed Mikasa's character. Reducing her to a mourning widow of, once again, a mass murderer.
SO, HERE'S MY IDEA: A PROJECT/MOVEMENT/PROTEST
We, as a collective fandom (rivamikas and anyone who loves Mikasa and was hurt/offended/disgusted by her ending), could stop putting Mikasa in a scarf NOW. As we've all said, that crusty, rusty, musty, dusty, germ-infested, disease-bringing shit needs to die and stay dead. It's time we all say goodbye to it.
A movement of fanarts/fics/any other content of Mikasa burning the scarf, burying it, or simply showing her without the scarf and any other creative thing your mind comes up with. THIS IS A PROTEST of what that thing now represents. Being shackled to a pathetic mass murderer, clinging to a toxic love, living in the past, living for a man and not yourself, and not moving on or being happy. I think it could kind of be a way to allow ourselves and Mikasa to move on from chapter 139; a kind of CATHARSIS. We still stand with Mikasa and everything that is good about her, and will not allow that to be her ending.
And, sure, include Levi (preferably, holding her neck as he kisses the living daylights out of her, kissing her bare neck, and perhaps even a little conversation about the scarf). BUT, REMEMBER, THIS IS MAINLY FOR MIKASA, AND ALL THE WOMEN SHE REPRESENTS.
If you feel as passionately about this as I do, then include the hashtag #BuryTheScarfMikasa or #BurnTheScarfMikasa to all your future posts of Mikasa without her scarf. (I'd like to think 'Bury' is more gentle, while 'Burn' indicates rage lol)
(also, to note: I'm looking at post war and cottage core fanarts and a lot of you guys are already doing this! Guess I might be late to the party. If so, then I'd like to ask any of the artists and anyone in general: how much were you considering Mikasa's scarf when drawing/writing her? And what will you do now after reading 139 and this? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also I'd also like to ask that you please reblog this to spread the word. Thank you for reading :)

Last minute predictions for the final chapter 139:
TLDR:  I think its going to be disappointing regardless of what happens.  Unless maybe its 45 pages of Reiner becoming Helos. THAT would be awesome. A PATHs reunion with Bertolt would be the cherry on top.  But still.
THINGS I’M EXPECTING TO HAPPEN:
The hallucegenia will get destroyed. This is the one thing I feel the most confident about.  Regardless of how everything else goes down, whether we get an “alternate universe” ending or whatever, I really believe the power of the titans will finally die.  And I strongly believe it’ll be Reiner who gives the finishing blow or whatever.  However, how this will affect everyone is still up in the air. Like, I would love for Reiner and the shifters to come out unscathed, but I wonder if maybe the price to be paid is that the shifters will still die after their 13-year limit is up.  And of course, if they get mortally wounded, they’ll die rather than heal.
I also can’t help but think Annie is going to help Reiner in some way.  I feel this whole final arc has drawn a lot of parallels between them. The fact that Annie and Reiner are both half Marleyan, and also the fact that the Female Titan and Armored Titan are Offensive and Defensive.  IDK.  It could be really cool for Reiner and Annie to finish what they started, and honor Bertolt in spirit.
I still think there is a possibility for Eren still being technically “alive”, or at least, alive in PATHs.  As much as I don’t want him to be alive for the sake of making Mikasa happy, I still think there’s something else left for us to see about him.  I would love to see what that Bertolt memory shard is really about. I also think Mikasa’s way of saying “see you later” instead of “goodbye” is telling that Eren isn’t dead yet or rather, she is confident she will see him again.
Historia.  Eh.  I’ve been really disappointed with what happened to her character in these final arcs, so I’m not expecting much.  Most importantly, what I want to know is why Historia gave up and resigned to helping Eren. She seemed visibly disturbed when he mentioned the rumbling.  Eren would have had major leverage to assume she’d agree.  I really wish Isayama had made this a bigger subplot.  I think it would be interesting to see Historia explicitly side with Eren, as oppose to a footnote.
LASTLY….
…I don’t really believe that the man holding a baby is the real last panel of the chapter.  I think people are too hung up on that idea just because Isayama said so.  I really think he’s trolling us. I could be proven wrong.  But I don’t really believe it’s as important as people are making it out to be.
Let's see what happens!

Hope you don’t mind me venting a little about chapter 139. I don’t even hate it as much I did initially. Like there is a lot I don’t like, and can’t agree with, but like it isn’t the end of the world and I still love AoT/SNK very much. I’ll still always have memories and moments I love, and I have AUs I’m super committed to and love writing with my friends. It’s Yams story, and he can end it however he wants. But my biggest issue is people acting like if someone dislikes the ending, they either didn’t read into it, or judged Eren’s character wrong, or something like that. I don’t need a five page essay explaining the ending, or to be called ungrateful because I’m not praising the ending. I like making jokes about it cause it helps me cope, and forgive me for thinking Eren was actually going to ride or die. I could even except the EM ending, even if I found it a little rushed and kinda weirdly shoved in. I just wanna be able to process the ending in my own way without someone saying that I’m a horrible person for not agreeing the ending was amazing, and perfectly predicted, and without fault.
Sorry for venting, just something I wanted to get off my chest and I feel like I’ve already chatted all my other outlet’s ears off. Thank you for reading, keep up the great work. 💕
After some thinking I decided to reply to this ask separately.
I’m sorry you got assholes talking to you that way, Anon, and I understand what you mean. This is one of the reason I didn’t want to talk about the ending right away: people are either too upset or too defensive, twitter is a mess right now, so I’m once again very grateful that we don’t read anyone’s opinions lol
To isolate yourself from this noise and to let yourself process the chapter in your own pace is the best decision one can make. You don’t have to love it and you don’t have to hate it and shit on it. People take this shit waaaaay too seriously, it’s just manga guys… chill. It’s not the end of the world, and even if someone disagreeing with you makes you upset, there is no need to argue about those things, especially aggressively.

The steam scene from AoT chapter 139 but Warrior centric because, yes, they deserved better and AT LEAST a silent goodbye from their comrades, I don't care if they are supporting characters.
Please accept my offer of angst in hopes this let us cope.
Pairing(s): Porco Galliard/Pieck Finger, Marleyan Warriors.
Rating: Teen and up audiences.
Summary: Everything ended with an explosion.
One minute, she was inside the Cart, fighting for humanity’s last chance against the huge wormish form of the Founding Titan, the next she knew, she was granted a final goodbye.

OPM Webcomic Chapter 138 Review: Accept no substitutes
Normally I like to give a rundown, but for this and chapter 139, I’m going straight for the META!  This may run long, but I trust you understand.
The struggle for hearts, minds and lives between the rival hero associations has been going a while.  Long enough for Forte’s broken leg to come out of cast at any rate.  The Hero Association continues to lose ground relentlessly for a variety of reasons -- the continued performance of the Neo Heroes, Blue’s charm offensives,  Mumen Rider’s endorsement and the continuing absence of most of their S-Class heroes. The Neo Heroes appear to have been able to keep both the suspicious Metal Bat and Child Emperor in check -- I must doff my hat to them.  I respect a competent evil-doer.
Btw,  McCoy is a walking advert of why you make ex-employees hand over all access and change passwords to any systems they might have access to, even if they leave on good terms:
Tumblr media
No prizes for guessing where the security breach came from.
McCoy’s smart enough to know which side his bread’s buttered on.  And the sort of horrors the Neo Heroes have available to visit on him if he slips up in his double game:
Tumblr media
The things I hope happen to this man are too lurid to print, and besides, ONE is a softy.
Cogs versus Weirdos
Three very important exerpts that I’ll say something about in a second capture the different aspect of the grand tussle between pro- and neo- hero.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
 The truth about heroes is that ‘risking your life’ is not what makes a hero a hero; any idiot can do that.  What makes a hero a hero is ‘being prepared to risk your life for another.’  Forte’s words about the Neo Heroes is that their ranks are overwhelmingly made up of people who aren’t ready to risk a thing!
For all its many flaws, the big thing the Hero Association does right is this: it offers people who are ready to be heroes a way to make a living (and not get sued or imprisoned).  Heroes are thus very individual and as Forte puts it, it’s a bit of a hobby for all of them -- if they weren’t prepared to do it for no pay, they’d have no business being pro-heroes in the first place.  It’s entirely a hobby for Saitama, but he’s just an extreme outlier.   The manga has shown us a lot more about how it means that heroes are idiosyncratic and may follow lawful orders but can’t be considered obedient in any way -- if it doesn’t make sense to a pro-hero, even the lowest ranking one will refuse.  Pro-heroes are prized for their ability to make individual, defensible decisions in highly challenging conditions and accept responsibility for them.  As such, they’re not interchangeable.
On the other hand, the Neo Heroes are very uniform, they’re drilled, trained, supervised, deployed, and debriefed en masse, sometimes feeling almost faceless.  Like an army, you could turn over most of the personnel in most of their squads (notable exceptions being Ryomon and Accel’s groups) and the machine would grind on unbothered.  Even the leaders aren’t particularly individual.  We can appreciate how that stinks to any pro-hero, but...
...is it necessarily a bad thing?
That’s where Ryomon’s interview comes in: truthfully, the high-risk world of the pro-heroes is the preserve of the too stupid to live and the outright weird.  Of which there will never be enough.  Disability and death are a very real possibility for every hero and as exposed as pro-heroes are, they’re at real risk of being ground out of existence by the relentless monster onslaught the world now faces.
Salting the Horse
There’s an English proverb that goes ‘a man may take a horse to water, but twenty cannot make it drink.’  To which the Russians add ‘ah yes, but you can give it salt to make it thirsty.’  I have no patience for analyses that hold characters to be stimulus-response machines: she’s this way because she had  a bad childhood, acting as if a character is no more than the sum of their experiences with no agency.  However, equally, I have little patience for analyses that ignore the circumstances in which characters make their choices and act as if all choices are free.
Quite a few fans are disappointed in Mumen Rider for opting for a Neo Hero power suit.  In another context where monsters are few and far between, perhaps Mumen reaching for a power suit in preference to working out might be a sign of a character flaw. In their current situations, not only are there too many strong monsters, the previous arrangement of a Class S hero arriving as back up no longer holds.   It’s an interesting contrast to the situation in chapter 140 of the manga, where Sekingar speaks of both stones and diamonds having a place.  In the webcomic present, there are few diamonds left, with far too few S-Class heroes able to provide back up and the stones are being pulverised.
It’s necessary to be stronger. Right here. Right now.  Not later.  What kind of asshole hero wants to be ''authentic'' more than they want to help?  Who calls themselves a hero to say 'sorry I couldn't do more'?    Who reckons that what people look for in a hero is the privilege of seeing that hero beaten to death before their very eyes? Mumen is doing the most valid thing under the circumstances.  He's ensuring his survival, and he is actually helping people.   He is achieving the very results that are important to a hero.   In the most authentic way?  No.  He should work out more and believe in himself more?  Great!  Guess what -- even if he's doing that, it will take months to see results.  I hope he's doing that.
But here and now, his choice to wear a power suit is the right answer, at least for now.  Seeing Mumen framed among valedictory words on an increasingly blood-splattered page only to rise and finally dispatch a monster in one punch was wonderful,  even if we’re worried for him.
Tumblr media
We’re worried for him because we know the terrible truth. The terrible thing we know is that the flood of monsters is no accident but is being sent forth by someone on behalf of the Neo Heroes to force a situation where it’s almost unavoidable for heroes and others to take up the Neo Hero offer.  Literally the only hero who has put two and two together is Metal Bat and the Neo Heroes have him by the short and curlies as they have Zenko hostage.  It’s a terrible time.
There was one nice bit of levity: while the grand practical and philosophical battles go on around him, what’s Saitama doing?  Finally picking up after his dog!
Tumblr media
That said, I was a bit surprised not to see his normally attentive disciple around.  Ah about that,  see next post!

All in the Family
Chapter 139: Draco's Detour
James immediately forgot his next course of action, but in his defense, he landed in paradise.
He never would have dreamed to even ask the book for something as fantastic as being dumped in the twins' joke shop, but he knew that's exactly where they were. He didn't even need to read the brilliant sign that glowed mirror like in the window, nor the empty cobble bricks of Diagon Alley beyond, no, the evidence was in every product label in sight!
Anti Gravity Hats– "Ruin a gentleman's day by making his hat fly away!"- to the Weasleys' Wildfire Whiz-bangs, his heart thrilled in delight to take in this place, imagining the floor packed with people of all ages here for a good laugh in such troubled times.
The eight of them were making enough sounds of delight for a whole crowd as is, there just was not something for somebody to love in here. In his hasty need to rush over and check out those Extendable Ears in person though, he actually passed Regulus scrutinizing a bottle of Magical Moustache Miracle Stubble Grow and forced himself to pause by the little spinning rack of potions before Peter or Sirius came over here.
Counting Quidditch statistics slowly in his head to make sure he didn't look like he was changing directions to punch the welp, he was minorly confident he'd achieved at least this when Regulus looked up and only scowled rather than drawing his wand upon him coming closer.
"If you're here to apologize-"
"I'm not," Potter said steadily.
Regulus glared up, cursing puberty more than anything Potter was so much taller than him and opened his mouth to give in detail how rude it was to continue interrupting people, still, before that look Sirius had given him flashed across his mind and he started chewing on his cheek as he thought through and replayed the scene in his head again.
It helped, to give his brother Potter's hazel eyes, remind himself it wasn't Sirius who may be actively hating him, but if he started shouting now Sirius may come over and just do the same. It wasn't a secret he'd back Potter first, he'd taken the diatribe for the man before after all.
Regulus looked beyond annoyed at him still, but surprisingly closed his mouth and just glared at him rather than continued shouting, already a good sign as far as James was concerned, but he leaned in close to make sure Regulus' little superiority complex wouldn't miss a word. "Listen, whatever problem you have with me, I hope you got it out of your system, but if not then you should know I'm not just going to stand there and let you shout at me like your bloody parents do to Sirius, nor will I tolerate you giving him hell he doesn't deserve. He's been through enough, we all bloody have while dealing with this."
"I, I didn't, I'm not-" Regulus spluttered in indignation, but James just kept glowering and watched with interest as he stopped after a moment and looked genuinely guilty now as he looked back towards Padfoot. "I don't want to be like them," he finally muttered, a note of defiance still clear in his voice as he continued to meet his eyes. "You're still an arrogant arse."
"I've been recently informed of that by my own kid thank you," James agreed, starting to lose that resolve not to hang Regulus up by his pants for at least this chapter, but Harry's face flashed across his mind and he held his hand still. "Anything else you'd like to say? Best get it out now."
At first James thought he wasn't going to answer, he was chewing on his tongue for some reason it seemed, but then he said in a very even voice, "you interrupt your mates. A lot. I don't know about the other two as much, but Peter especially. It annoys the shit out of me."
'What's it to you?' The insulted brush off was on the tip of James's tongue in outrage, but he quickly bit that off as he kept looking at Sirius' brother. If Padfoot was really going to try and start involving this kid in his life then he should probably get used to it now, and it was long obvious Regulus and Peter were good friends already. It seemed ridiculous to think at this rate that would just vanish when they got back out of this.
Instead he replayed the last conversation he'd had with Wormtail in his head looking to deny this, and felt just a tad guilty he hadn't actually heard a word, but that wasn't interrupting. He thought back farther, but he'd barely spoken to Peter, really talked to him since back during the third book now, if not longer. He and Sirius did have a tendency to talk to each other and only passively involve Remus and Peter when they butted in when the two got going. It wasn't something he'd ever consciously thought of, he and Sirius had far too much fun shouting over each other and getting the other to laugh harder next.
Alice was right though, trying to get the others to laugh this off was helping no one. He tried to make an effort right then to tell himself to watch that in the future.
He wanted to ask Regulus point blank his real question, but decided if he admitted to knowing of the levels of real abuse the Black parents had done to their eldest he would in fact not be able to stop himself hitting the nearest one in retaliation, so he was glad when Regulus seemed satisfied he'd not only said his peace but James had nothing to lob back and walked off.
Longbottom finally found the book and was reading about the youngest Malfoy. James glared out the window and listened with livid frustration this young Death Eater strolling around Borgin and Burkes with a 'mission' Snape had to help his mother with she had so little faith in, and his son was now actively trying to get involved. He refused himself a look at Evans to see if she was glaring at him for that being his fault too, because he couldn't deny he would be doing the same thing if given the chance, to thwart any kind of coming attack on his school.
Sirius appeared at his elbow just like always, smiling with such ease it made the entire thing worth it even if James still felt more agitated than ever for every Black but Sirius. He was already vowing in his head to give him paperwork to change that on his next birthday.
"So I heard you and Moony had some fun," Sirius lightly quipped, eyes resting on the rest of the bottles. It was still pretty funny to him to think about, mostly because neither party had any idea of the joke beforehand. He wished he'd caught the whole thing on camera just to laugh at their faces when it happened.
"Eh?" James looked at him in confusion, and Sirius was quick to elaborate on a convenient lie his eyes had landed on.
"Sorry about it Prongs, I doused him before we swapped, got distracted, didn't think whatever he did would fall on you," he smirked.
"You passed Moony a love potion?" James didn't seem suspicious so much as just unamused for once.
"Yep," Sirius remorselessly lied. "Was going to give Pete some Babbling Brew too, but I got caught too soon." James would laugh it off later when Remus finally got over his secret and they told him the rest.
"Well it didn't work quite right," James shrugged as he turned away and went over to look at some of the Invisibility Cloaks they had for sale, though none even came close to his, he was curious enough to see these knock offs. "He just made a pass at me, wasn't exactly all over you though."
"More of those wonky effects on werewolves I suppose," Sirius shrugged as he followed, and James didn't ask any further questions. Sirius still wasn't sure what the point of all this was and ditched Prongs as he got enamored by the Demon Box and nipped behind the counter for a bit of parchment and quill, hoping if he gave Remus this it would help him relax more.
James was more annoyed than he'd let on as Sirius came back shoving a bit of parchment into his pocket like he wouldn't notice something was obviously still going on, but he worked enough out for himself that it was clearly Remus who didn't want to tell. Sirius was just backing him on that, and if it was a gay thing he'd respect it and let Moony come to him when he wanted to, though he wished he knew how Sirius had figured it out so he could assure the same. Maybe he was entirely off the mark though and it was still something else, Padfoot was right about one thing, Remus was ever reluctant to share anything. He still wasn't sure what they'd done to so endear them he'd shared his werewolf secret all those years ago but was grateful for whatever that was and let the whole thing go.
Regardless, the two lost their heads when they found the Skiving Snackboxes and shamelessly shoved a box each into their bags.

ABOUT THE SPOILERS
WARNING SPOILERS FOR MANGA AND 139
(you don’t have to post this one but i just wanted to garage opinions and idk how to to that without asks)
SPOILERS BELOW, LAST WARNING
i’ll admit that at some point i wanted eremika to be canon, especially after we discover that eren is a tiran and she hugs him way back in s.1
my reason for this is because they’ve both been my favorite characters and i just wanted them to be happy
but as the series went on it was clear that they weren’t meant to be because eren didn’t care for mikasa ROMANTICALLY. sure, he loved her and i believe that he said those hurtful things in s.4 so it would be easier for them to kill him and i really liked that mikasa was the one to kill him, it was very tragic and my heart broke.
but then girlie had to go on and kiss his decapitated head... i-
i love that eren and armin met in paths because armin was his best friend and the person that he loved the most, even more than mikasa imo. and eren saying that he doesn’t want to die because he loves mikasa and doesn’t want anyone else to be with her?
this is very degrading towards mikasa’s character because it just goes to show that she was the love interest all along
throughout the seasons there was never and indication that he was at least interested in her, so getting this full on love confession is... something
burying eren in the tree he liked to sleep in was very cute, but armin had to be there, they were best friends and it’s very sad that he wasn’t there.
i like the representaron of eren with a bird, i don’t think that he re-encarnated (is that how you spell it, idk english) but it symbolized him.
also the one that conflicts me the most, the fact that all the titans turned human again? like did they just go “miraculous ladybug” and everything went back to normal...
like i said, there was never an indication that this could happen so it’s weird that that was the solution, just revert everyone back to normal...
this ending is really confusing to me, and i was expecting the time loop to happen, it wouldn’t have been my favorite ending but at least better than this one i think, and that one at least made sense
Honestly, I'm not sure if I ever wanted eremika to be canon. Like sure, I've thought "that'd be nice... maybe" before, but aot isn't meant to be a romance anime, which is why that possible development never became a must-see for me and as you said, Eren didn't display any romantic feelings for her until Isayama spelled it out for us—in an unhealthy and randomly-placed way—in these last couple of chapters and a few other panels here and there (which even then just represented caring for a friend in my opinion)
I will bring up this post, because I think it's important to take into consideration the cultural context/circumstances of the creator, and I do believe that love doesn't have to be manifested in the most obvious ways, but even then it just doesn't feel right for the same reasons you mentioned. Also, when Eren and Mikasa were meant to run off into the woods together just like that? And without Armin? Even if they were truly in love and wanted to live out their romance for as long and much as they could, I don't buy it, but it's whatever.
I agree with Eren's misconception of love being harmful towards Mikasa's character; I mentioned in a post that it just makes her seem like a prop and even more so with the panels where she's sitting and sulking beside his grave, because it only means that she's reverted back to being the MC's "faithful companion" who just can't let go. I also didn't interpret the bird as Eren's reincarnation the first time around, but if that's the idea behind it, I guess it was just Isayama's way of giving him that sort of "bittersweet" closure of "having freedom in another life".
And that Miraculous Ladybug reference is spot on 😂 It really does feel that way, doesn't it? Same energy as "and then he woke up".
There are plenty of other things that have been left unresolved, as well as several messages being sent with this final chapter that are going to make the series very hard to defend once they reach anime-only fans or the GP. I love the characters and just about everything before season 4, but this last chapter is enough to leave fans embarrassed after speaking in defense of AOT and/or Isayama.

Dungeon Dice Monsters Arc
This arc is complicated to correspond perfectly to the anime because the plot was split into two unrelated sets of episodes: the Dungeon Dice Monsters episodes that close out season 1 (episodes 46-49), and the Mystery Duelist episodes that open season 2 (episodes 50-51).  The Millennium Puzzle being stolen, Yugi having to fight without his other self, his friends looking for him, the Puzzle being broken, Yami Bakura putting a part of himself into one of the pieces, Yugi rebuilding the Puzzle in a burning building, and Jonouchi rescuing Yugi from the fire were all moved into the latter set of episodes. A lot of filler was also added to both sets of episodes to replace the elements missing from splitting up the story this way.
