Michel Couvreur Overaged malt #whisky - one of the best value for money drops out there. For around $129AUD you get a single malt whisky aged from 12 years all the way to 27 years old. On the nose #sherry, and smoky peat clash with fruity sweetness. The palate is thick, with smoke to keep the #peat lovers happy without overwhelming those that don't. Honey and slight medicinal note develop mid palate. Charcoal smashes the senses on the finish and dissipates quickly leaving behind notes of nuttiness and vanilla sweetness. Which whiskies do you think offer amazing value for money? 27YO Irish single malt, bottles for Eiling Lim and The Whisky Agency. Distilled 1989, bottled 2016. 45% ABV. A bloody fruit basket of green apples, pears, pomelo, lychees, green mango, passion fruits... and that's just the nose. On the palate, it's such a fruit but mb, but also balanced with a tinge of bitterness and grassiness. What a dram. #latergram to last nights #instadram as I enjoyed almost the last of my 28 year old #blackadder Blairfindy, and some #smws 26 year old #scotchwhisky after a busy but productive week. I really love #blackadderwhisky, the raw cask just adds that little extra flavor that you don’t often get and a reminder of what time and a #whisky barrel do to make #scotch amazing.
