She was just a girl that should’ve had her whole life ahead of her.. she was a daughter lighting up her parents’ life watching her grow up.. she just turned thirteen, a teenager with her whole life ahead of her… Thirteen birthdays where she smiled so big.. big enough to make her mother’s heart overflow with love and gratitude.. big enough for her father to boast with pride.. she made his heart tender.. she was so full of life that even her hair bounced and danced to her laughter.. She was hope, happiness and innocence.. but cancer had no loyalty. It came stealthily into her body that was so full of life.. it came while she was sleeping, it came while she laughed doing cartwheels at school recess.. it spread while she sang out loud with her sister.. it spread while her mother tucked her in at night, and she dreamed of plans with her friends… She is just a little girl.. with her whole life ahead of her.. but now she couldn’t go to school everyday.. she made plans with friends she couldn’t keep.. Her dancing braids that used to bounce and giggle with her eyes, are now replaced with a bandana… it made you notice her beautiful eyes even more.. they never stopped smiling.. You would’ve thought cancer would feel ashamed touching her innocence.. you would think she could’ve bribed it with magic of childhood to spare her.. but cancer has no honor.. and it ended her life too soon.. She grew wings and flew up to heaven to share her smiles and giggles with the angels.. Little girl you made your mother’s heart full of love and your father’s heart tender and proud… you were their gift and you will be missed… Gone are the giggles and now you could only hear their hearts’ cries missing her.. I hope her eyes that never looked sad.. will soothe her parents’ broken souls.. I am sure my next sketching attempt is going to be the best one! Well, the idea was to discuss activity mapping in a residential space. The spaces are occupied in various ways at the various times of the day. Morning times the mother mostly spend in kitchen while father is either in the backyard doing yoga or reading newspaper in the living room. But mother is also found in all the spaces, in the front yard putting rangoli, watering the plants, making tea in the kitchen, waking me up in my room, cleaning up the bedroom, or having her tea on her favourite swing!!! 👸🏼 अत्र तत्र सर्वत्र You can find me either in the garden or in my room in front of the laptop taking classes! 🤣 Similarly your afternoon times and evening times the spaces are occupied in different ways. 😍😋BALUSHAHI ,Indians mouthwatering dessert :-

Balushahi (or Badusha/ Padusha as it is referred to in the southern states of India) is a sugar glazed deep-fried flaky North Indian pastry that resembles a doughnut. I know many people call it an Indian doughnut, but that’s doing the Balushai an injustice as it is nothing like a doughnut, except possibly in its appearance. A doughnut is soft and spongy while a Balushahi is flaky.😋😋😋😋

Balushahi, or Badusha is as well known in South India as it is in the North and some might argue about my saying it is North Indian in origin. 

The first indication is the name itself. Dishes which have “shahi” which comes from the Persian “Shah” meaning royal, invariably have their origins in Mughlai cuisine which is a style of Indian cooking that came with the Mughal invaders or tradespeople from Persia. The “Shahi” cuisine is also incredibly rich usually, and the Balushahi is nothing if not rish considering the ghee in it! Also, the deep-fried pastry dipped in sugar syrup is reminiscent of sweets from the Middle East.

Second, this is a sweet made with refined flour (maida). Traditionally, most sweets in the South are made with rice or rice flour because wheat is not grown in the South but in the North.

And third, is that Balushahi is usually garnished with pistachios and/ or almonds. Now, both these nuts used to be rarely found in the South where cashewnuts and groundnuts (peanuts) are more common. In fact, the version of the sweet which we call Badusha in the South is usually not garnished with nuts at all but covered in a thick white dry sugar glaze, whereas the Northern version is glazed with a shiny transparent sugar glaze.

The choice of fat in this recipe is ghee. I understand some people make it successfully with unsalted butter too but butter would never give the Balushahi the nutty taste and fragrance that ghee does. Ghee is nothing but clarified butter and can be made at home (the best option) or bought from the store. Ghee gives the flavor and texture to balushahi. This recipe uses fewer ingredients and the star of the dish is ghee.

# Indian Dessert Balushahi Recipe Ingredients are :-

All purpose flour 3 cup

Baking soda 1/2 tsp

Curd 1/4 cup

Clarified butter (ghee) 6 tbsp

Milk 2 tbsp

Clarified butter (ghee) for deep frying

Sugar 2 cup

Water 1 cup

Cardamom 2

Saffron strands 1/2 tsp

Dry fruits as per choice.

When Mamma explained the recipe, I was surprised to see the ingredient yogurt instead of milk. I might have confirmed an n number of times and at one point she gave up and asked me to check with my grandma. ;-)  No, I didn’t check with my grandma. I know it’s the family recipe and I wanted to try it the same way. The end result – all of us loved it and Just came up with the comments that __“It’s better than the cookies mamma” ..!!!

So finaly No one can dispute the fact that Moms make the best dishes and are the best teachers though! ♥️My mom too!!
