oh yay i get to talk about sprite festival
its set in a fantasy world where these little 4 legged creatures are spirits that come in many varieties. they are based on a species my friend/the creator made called chowlings but other species will be in the game.
it's a sandbox / rpg game where players will be able to customize their home/plot of land and even their own character with an editable spritesheet. there will be fighting, battling and farming elements as well.

RN i am working on an inner forest explorable biome which will be more ancient, with densely packed giant trees and ruins and stuff.

Hi hi! The build was long overdue for an update! This one was a struggle and a half since my computer fried last week and I couldnt access the latest version for a while. I got it back and was able to add in the new fixes I did in the meantime.
Android players PLEASE hang tight while I prepare the computer for creating Android builds
This new build contains:
Episode 9 for Zacharie and Clover is now in the game, you can hang out with the two of them at the thrift shop and see whatever nonsense they got up to on that day!
Because of this, you're now able to naturally unlock some of Clover's crush variant dialogues lol :)
Episode 14 for Liam and Alex are now in the game, see their endings to the common route :)!
New jealousy dialogues for Liam, Alex, and Ethan. If Liam and Alex both have high affection at the same time, they might react differently to finding out Val has a crush on the other. Ethan's jealousy dialogue for the call in e12 is viewable!
The ability to collect achievements! You can go back to earlier scenes in the game to collect any that you missed. Not all achievements are actually unlock-able just yet since the episodes they correspond to aren't available
New Main Menu layout. Characters that you lack the DLC for are missing from the main screen. This is to help people see if they properly installed any future routes :)
New background art of course. the courtyard has been updated to a new original image
Bugfixes: Updated renpy engine, fixed side image error and the tutorial looping error should be fixed! Fixed some missing images errorsGrab the update here:
Common route will be up on Steam soon I am still waiting on a few things before I am ready :)

Trembling Essence [Extended Demo]:💙What happens now?💙

Hello and welcome new followers!
Firstly, I just want to thank everyone that have been playing the updated [Extended Demo] with the Endings Gallery and Day 3 notifier! From this I was able to get a good amount of responses to help me with quality of life ideas going forward. :]
The game page has also been fixed to include the Windows and Mac logo downloads as I had no idea they weren't there until I was told. :,,]
Again, please let me know if you run into any bugs, glitches, misspellings, etc or if the Endings gallery doesn't show up for you correctly.
"So what happens now?"
As far as the [Extended Demo] goes, I do have plans on updating it with certain paths/routes HOWEVER, it will be some time before that happens. There's a lot of stuff that I need to rework and look over before I can add anything. Here's a peek from some of the old game development posts.

The sections missing from the [Extended Demo] were from routes/paths I wrote during the late spring-summer of 2023. In the fall my writing style developed significantly which lead me to discover multiple pacing issues in the story that went unnoticed. Out of everything I wrote, the two full routes you get while playing were the only sections that were good enough for me to polish up and didn't contain spoilers. As for when the new routes/paths will be added to the [Extended Demo], I don't have an answer for this.
Right now I've been giving myself a break and mainly focusing on brainstorming things out.
In other news, I'm still in the process of creating Noah's reference sheets! There will be a total of three(?) which will have specific details for each one! It's taking some time to create since I'm still learning how to do angled faces/poses, here's the w.i.p sketch version below:

Hi-ho, Wudge here. Devlog day!
I've mostly (90%) finished writing, editing, and coding in the scene immediately following the Super Demo! It's missing one choice set and I haven't put in any sfx or music just yet, but the conditionals and variables are all set and all of the images are in place.
I have room to improve with one of the images though -

It's so dark????? And I gotta add Jade and Dart, but--
I wanted to represent the MC thinking about the Love Interests, not that they suddenly teleported in. In the only outside example I can think of, shoujo anime, imagination/daydream scenes can be represented with pink bubbles and flowers, like so

...but that's a bit excessive for the tone of Herotome.
The most straightforward solution would be to commission a CG to showcase the characters from a different angle, but it'd only be for a couple of lines!! Not cost-effective 😂
So uh, wish me luck coming up with a visual solution that isn't cloaking the characters in darkness...

Hey there!
I just want to tell you that I really love your writing, your world building is very good and I can imagine it perfectly in my head with how you describe things. I followed Night Market since it was only a few chapters in until it's a finished WIP and I also really enjoy how you add things, details, and change of scenes in the full game for book 1 that covers all the plot holes from the WIP that makes it richer and more realistic. I've been replaying book 1 again now, trying different choices before also replaying book 2 demo to get the feels 👹
Now it feels like I'm rambling useless stuff but in other words, I love your work 🫶🏻 and I enjoy it very much! I can't wait for book 2 but don't forget to take care of yourself too though 😘

Going back over book 1 was a beast but it was well worth it. I felt like it became a much more complete story. There were a lot of little things that I left out which I think was fine for a wip but for the full release, I just wanted the story to feel rich. Like it was a world that you could actually imagine. It took months to go back over all of it and get it to a point that I was happy with. And I'm sure in a year or so, if I go over it again, I'll find more to add. The Night Market feels like a game that is never ending. There is always so much more to explore and I'm excited for the future of it.
