The romance of Levi Hooper and Lucy Cooper was an unlikely union; absolutely, an attraction of opposites. They met while living across the street from one another in Jackson, Mississippi. Lucy was a hell-raising rebel and Levi was a church-going, salt-of-the-earth young man. Lucy was attracted to Levi mainly because he was nothing like the people she’d been involved with up to then, and Lucy had grown tired of her life and was ripe for a change. Levi was attracted to Lucy because, well, for one thing, she was a very sexy lady, but more importantly he intuitively felt that she wanted more out of life than her drinking, drugging and wild partying. Theirs was a true love which they both felt strongly, but a love that was destined to be cut off far too early, its potential left unfulfilled. © 2017 Frank David Leone, Jr./Highway 80 Music (ASCAP). Forgiver - A Big Thief Bootleg Project
Over the past few years, Big Thief has accumulated a true treasure trove of unreleased material which has only ever been played live. How much material, you may ask? Well it turns out an entire full length double albums worth.
I've taken the liberty of going through and compiling various recorded live performances into a track list of 20 songs. The album, which I've tentatively titled "Forgiver" after the song of the same name, comes in at a staggering 1 hour and 20 minutes in total length. The tracklist and download links are included below.
Side A
1. Vampire Empire*
2. Horsepower
3. Words
4. No Machine
5. Born For Loving You
Side B
6. Seam
7. Free Treasure
8. Cactus Practice
9. Once a Bunch of Times
10. Forgiver
Side C
11. Wait a While
12. Happy With You
13. Ruined
14. If Love Is Blind
15. Happiness
Side D
16. Bright Future
17. Real House
18. Already Lost
19. Sadness as a Gift
20. Wanted You To Stay
Download
* so technically Vampire Empire has now been officially released HOWEVER at the time when I started editing this together it was not yet out, and I think it fits into the tracklist really well so I wasn't too keen on removing it when it did release. Also I just like that specific live version I included, and its different enough from the official version where I think its justified in keeping it in.

Thanks to my partner, I am getting well enough to write music again. A short song for Solstice, 2022. Dedicated to Asha, who also mixed the audio.
Shade me from these shadows of my guilt. Wrap my tired body here in cedar brush. Place over me your boughs of evergreen. Warm my soul beneath your silver winter moon.

Dolly Valentine presents: Madonna at the Dark Spring
Dolly Valentine is a mercurial singer-songwriter from Cincinnati, OH, though currently based in Italy. Ever since the beginning of her journey, she aimed to express complicated emotions in a simple manner, seamlessly merging poetic lyrics with both timeless and modern sounds. Her most recent single, "Madonna at the Dark Spring," is a haunting, ethereal folk ballad with a melancholic yet almost otherworldly twist. The bones of the song were initially conceived by Valentine, who recorded an intimate performance in a historic villa in Lombardy, northern Italy. The track, which featured vocals and acoustic guitars, was later expanded with producer Andrea Caccese (Dead Rituals, Francis Moon), as the pair sought to retain the intimacy of the original performance, while adding more layers. Valentine’s oneiric vocal layers and stripped-down guitar arrangement remain the song’s centerpiece, while sparse percussion, subdued electric guitar ambiance, and other instruments drive the song’s dynamics and emotional intensity.

The Decemberists - As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again

The Radio Hour - Tim Hort
The Radio Hour has recently released a new studio album titled "Tim Hort.”
The full-length features 17 original tracks, which is quite an ambitious amount of songs in today's music industry, as many artists tend to focus on singles rather than longer albums. Because of its ambitious scope, this album provides a more immersive and comprehensive listening experience, giving a deeper insight into The Radio Hour's artistic and songwriting focus.
The opening track "Death by Water" is a combination of alternative folk and indie rock influences, reminding listeners of artists such as R.E.M., Wilco, Francis Moon, or Calexico. On the other hand, "No Dissociation" offers a fast-paced rhythm with pounding drums and jangly guitar tones, with dreamy effects reminiscent of iconic bands such as U2 or Snow Patrol but with a more organic flow.
Another highlight is the song “Chemistry,“ which has a completely different approach, focusing on melodic and ornate piano phrases along with a string section to add a sense of cinematic depth to the sound.
These songs are just a few highlights from the album, which is incredibly diverse in its musical journey. From intimate and soothing moments to songs that are more upbeat and energetic, "Tim Hort" has it all.
