Storm Water ⛈️
Storm Water is water that is infused with the energy of a Storm!
Tumblr media
You can make Storm Water either by filling a container of water with the rain coming from a Storm (With intention), or by leaving a container of water by a windowsill, or outside, during a Storm with the set intention of the water being infused with the Storms energy.
Storm Water Energy ⛈️
Though the energy can vary depending on the type of Storm, there are common themes.
Intense Power | Anger | Intensity | Confidence
Uses: Hexes, Curses, Shadow Work, and any spell you want to add a lot of extra power into.
Advice for Making Storm Water:
Whatever method you choose, set your intention in whatever way works best for you.
If you believe Storms have a spirit, ask the spirit of the Storm to infuse your water with all of its energy, and thank him too.
Pop a smoky quarts or black crystal into your container to use as a magnet to draw this energy in.
Visualize or watch the storm vividly, then imagine it's energy as a grey light, wrapping around and filling your container until it shines brightly.
Try to collect your water soon after the storm.

What is “domestic witchcraft?”
Hello loves!
While nobody particularly asked for this post, I thought this would be a good chance to explain what I consider domestic witchcraft to be and how I practice it in my day-to-day life.
To gain a better understanding of what domestic witchcraft is, we can look at two guides: animism and Shintoism. Animism is the described as the belief that inanimate objects, places and natural phenomena all possess a “distinct spiritual essence.” Simply put, it is the belief that all distinctly non-human-shaped things are animated and alive. Similarly, Shintoism is a Japanese-based polytheistic religion that “revolves around the kami, supernatural entities believed to inhabit all things.” Because of this link between kami and daily life, Shintoism is considered an animistic religion. Domestic witchcraft revolves around similar, if not the same, principles. Because of the Shintoist influence, I have affectionately dubbed the form of domestic witchcraft I practice “Ghibli witchcraft” as the Ghibli animation studio is notorious for its focus on animism and various Shintoist beliefs.
[Interlude ⭐️] As a ‘third-culture-kid’ my beliefs have absolutely been shaped by the community around me, as well as my experiences. In a similar way, your witchcraft is allowed to be fluid in both labels and beliefs. It is valid for traditional witchcraft labels not to fit! Your magick is something completely personal to you, and no one witch experiences it the same way. [End ⭐️]
How exactly do these beliefs translate into domestic witchcraft? Mrs B from “The Modern Pagan” describes one aspect of it quite well: "any person... who wants to honor the domestic part of their life while enhancing it with magic. ...the domestic witch brings magic into every corner of the home and the activities that it takes to run it.” (via The Modern Pagan: What is a Domestic Witch?) Domestic witchcraft involves bringing magick into your day-to-day life, whether it be within your household or in your community. However, while there are certain aspects where household or hearth witchcraft might run into domestic witchcraft, I do not consider domestic witchcraft to be the same. This is because the animist aspect of domestic witchcraft is not only limited to the home.
To me, domestic witchcraft can be described as the belief that deities and spirits are a constant, active presence in my life and affect it in various different ways. While these spirits may often reside on a separate plane, they are intrinsically linked to ours. This is because they can be found in every single thing, whether animated or not.
It also includes the belief that everything has a spirit, including rocks, blades of grass and everything in the conscious and subconscious world.
[Interlude ⭐️] Because I believe that objects have spirits and hold memories (which can be accessed by the practitioner through them), I form significant attachments to sentimental objects :) [End ⭐️]
As domestic witchcraft follows the belief that all living things contain a certain spirit, deities are often whittled down to their simplest form. For example: Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, Baal, Raijin and other deities associated with lightning are all the same basic spirit. However, they take different forms depending on the context, and so appear different. Each of these “forms” has a unique presence and way of expression.
So... How do I worship deities and spirits? Personally, I believe that acknowledging spiritual presences in my life is a form of low-level worship. Giving them a greeting (even if it is a mumble) or some other small sign of acknowledgement is an excellent first step in building your relationship with local spirits.
If spiritual assistance is needed, however, an offering and a prayer is required, as is commonplace in most areas of witchcraft. I usually try and direct these prayers onto a specific spirit, and to be even more clear, a distinct expression of that spirit in the form of a deity. I will likely make a more comprehensive post on how I go about doing prayers and making offerings.
Those are the basics of domestic witchcraft! Again, these are the bare bones of the practice, so this is in NO way a comprehensive post. But I hope this was at least interesting :)
TL;DR: Domestic witchcraft (as I practice it) can be described as the belief that deities and spirits are a constant, active presence our lives life and whom affect it in various different ways. It includes the belief that everything has a spirit, including rocks, blades of grass and everything in the conscious and subconscious world. As domestic witchcraft follows the belief that all living things contain a certain spirit, deities are often whittled down to their simplest form. They take different forms depending on the context, and so appear different. Each of these “forms” has a unique presence and way of expression.

LITTLE DETAILS AND PLOT POINTS I FORGOT ABOUT IN SEASON 1
From like episode 65 onwards
• The Kiki and Zane baby pendent plot line is so odd like did that actually do anything that impacts the plot? Like why would Zane have a reason to do that? I know he’s evil and all but he has goal he’s trying to reach and what does Kiki having a werewolf baby have to do with that? I’m probably just forgetting more stuff that happens later in the season to be honest.
• Plus you would think that Garroth would have been more concerned about it seeing as Leona could have potentially been his niece.
• When the group gets lost after they leave Malachi’s castle Laurance suggests that Garroth could cuddle with the horses while him and aph cuddle
• He later also clears away poison ivy for a “romantic camping spot” at Lucinda’s while Aph kills crabs
• Garroth is the one that taught Levin to call Aphmau Mama (I think it would be funny if Levin sort of had a british accent because of Garroth and says some words differently like Mum)
• Garroth actively tries to start pursuing Aphmau after the castle with Malachi (presumably because Laurance spent the whole trip getting there convincing Garroth to tell Aphmau his feelings)
• While they’re traveling Laurance seems to constantly trying to force Garroth to confess his feelings to Aphmau and straight up tells Aph that Garroth has feelings for her at nether portal at the werewolf village
• Garroth tries to confess his feelings at camp at Lucinda’s house but Laurance is listening in and only interrupts when Garroth changes the topic to Brightport
• Laurance comes up with the idea of the phoenix alliance
• For some reason Laurance knows everything and is always explaining stuff to Aphmau like he’s the human equivalent of an lore info dump like he’s the one that forces Garroth to talk about his father (Laurance is the world building of this universe)
• Neither Aphmau or Laurance ever sleep
• Dante stays up a lot too and in the beginning he likes to be alone
• Laurance is always eavesdropping on everyone’s conversations literally he is the nosiest.
• Laurance is also way too chill about knowing Gene and for some reason just never says anything to Dante??
• Also I skipped some episodes because season one is slow and I haven’t finished rewatching season 1 but Dante is really chill about Laurance being a shadow knight despite having his entire life being torn apart by his shadow knight brother
• Laurance tells the shadow knight lady and innkeeper in Pikoro to never stop loving her probably because it helps keep her human and wishes Aphmau would do the same for him.
• Laurance is more of a realist than Garroth is both are good at reading situations but Laurance tends to less optimistic than Garroth is (probably from his experiences in the nether.)
• Laurance is also just very good at reading people and understanding their weaknesses
• Laurance realizes that love is able fight against the shadow knight’s magic and that furthers it as a theme in the story
• Garroth despite having a rivalry with Laurance confides in him often and this gives Laurance an intimate look into Garroth’s thoughts
• Laurance pretends to lean in but there’s actually a ladybug on Aph’s shoulder before just telling her about the Magicks and Witchcraft war
• Garroth goes out of his way to try and to spend time with Aphmau like trying to walk her home.
• Dante asks for a combat doll from Nana and thinks he’s met her somewhere before (I don’t remember if this comes back later in the series) and I feel like it hints at a future romance pretty well as first interaction.
• Garroth catches Aphmau when she falls from the tree and Aphmau is pretty calm about the whole situation despite that being a terrifying thing to happen (plus I feel like Garroth should have been more scared and thankful he caught her time like he nearly lost the woman he’s in love with.)
• Then they play with both Levin and Malachi in the tree house like a little family
• Laurance gives Levin and Malachi a book that Zoey reads to them (in my rewrite it would be the legend/fairy tale of aphmau’s name)
• Lucinda and Nana used to have rival cat cafes! Then they have duel!
• Laurance wears gold armor for couple episodes before getting the armor upgrade
• Garroth removes his helm when Aphmau asks him to immediately where before he refused. He trusts Aphmau and presumably Laurance and Dante completely.
• Garroth designed armor when he was younger probably at guard school that somehow Katelyn got a hold of and turned into armor for the guards along coordinating colors that match their personalities
• Garroth, Dante, and Laurance are all on the jury of 9 waitlist
I’m rewatching season one and it’s so much information to sift through. Also there are millions of other things that I probably forgot. Don’t get me wrong, I love it but after season one Jess went a different direction with the storytelling and that was a great decision.

Divine Warriors
Here is some info dump about MCD's Divine Warriors in my rewrite, not all of this is known to the public of the mortal realm (especially the stuff about Shad.)
Irene the Matron: There isn't much known about Lady Irene's past, the only evidence they have are the scriptures Enki had written. Though most were burned. It is a common concept that she grew up in a small village (later Scaleswind) in Ru'aun. born from the ash of a god they say. She is incredibly strong, having healing magicks and the ability to bring those back from the dead as well as other abilities (mainly dimensional), Irene did not have a weapon. She can also change her form into a man but she rarely ever did this and it's said that she hated the form. After her disappearance (presumed death) which was 40 or so years after the fight with Shad. She was worshipped more commonly, which her worship later became widespread. Irene is worshipped as the god of medicine/health, the afterlife, agriculture and hope. She is associated with doves (because of her wings) and lavender, around churches and royalty/nobles homes, you will see statues of doves and fields of lavender. It's said that natural forming fields of lavender are places blessed by Irene. Although mainly worshipped in Ru'aun she is seen and heard all over the world.
Menphia the Fury: She grew up in Tu'la near the capital, one of the very few in Tu'la who was human. Menphia came from a well off noble family, she was a strong girl who could wield almost any close combat weapon. She became one of the princesses' guards at the age of 19. There was a rumor that Menphia and the princess were having an affair but it was never denied nor confirmed. She became a protector of Irene and later one of the Divine Warriors, she also had a pet tiger. Her magicks are very limited but they consist of strength and speed. Menphia used multiple different close combat weapons (swords, maces, battle axes, etc). She died during the fight with Shad to save Enki. She is worshipped mainly in Gal'ruk and Tu'la and usually by guards or soldiers. She is worshipped as the god of rage, strength, war, and courage. She is associated with tigers and fire. Her statues always have a tiger at her legs.
Shad the Destroyer: Not much is known about Shad at all, Enki himself destroyed practically everything that he had written about Shad. Them and Irene were close, the common conception was that they were lovers. Irene and Shad had a fight because he was a danger to mortals. Irene sealed Shad deep inside a mountain for 10 years, he later escaped and caused havoc. Although Irene and many of the other warriors had pushed her to their breaking point it was Shad himself who decided to be spiteful and become the Shadow Lord. Xavier was the first ever shadow knight. Their magicks consist of strength, telekinesis, and break dimension barriers. She can change their form much like Irene, to a woman, man, or a form of neither. He seems to enjoy this unlike Irene. Many depictions of Shad are different in gender because of this. Very few mortals worship him but she is seen as the god of deception, chaos, death, and tragedy. He is commonly associated with crows and lily of the valleys.
Enki the Keeper: Enki had many journals detailing both his and the other warriors lives yet he either burned most or hid them away, very few were actually found. He grew up in a home of warriors in Gal'ruk but despite this he became a scholar. He is known to have been in love with many, Menphia, Irene, Esmund's brother. Likely Xavier too. He was born without any magicks but he did know a bit of witchcraft. His abilities after getting a relic were; un-human observation, speed, and levitation. Enki barely fought but when he did he used an ink brush (much like Qiu Yongsi from Tianbao Fuyao lu). Enki died 5 or so years after the battle with Shad. He is worshipped in Gal'ruk and is a common figure head for literature. He is the god of; ink and paper, literature, language, and love. Enki is commonly associated with owls and snow.
Esmund the Protector: Much is known about him as he was the eldest son of one of the most well known historians, Ruthin Ro'meave. He grew up in Ru'aun, he became a guard and later became a Divine Warrior. Esmund was commonly known for his beauty that rivaled Irene's. He was deeply in love with Irene which caused a strain between Irene, Shad and Esmund. His younger brother was horrifically injured during a battle while under Shad's watch which caused Esmund to become even more resentful of Shad. Despite wanting to help defeat Shad he decided to stay behind and protect. He died 30 years before Irene's disappearance. He is worshipped in Ru'aun usually by Lords of villages seeking protection. He is the god of; protection, safety, loyalty, victory, and family. Esmund is associated with swords and diamonds.
Kul'zak the Wanderer: They grew up near the docks of Tu'la, they were a meif'wa. They helped with travel when ships docked on Tu'la. Kul'zak was the first Divine Warrior after Irene, and a nomad. They were a very good bard and a little mischievous. They were the oldest of the Divine Warriors and the one to have kept them all together. After the Divine Warriors split they traveled and spoke of legends for 10 years before dying. Unlike the other Divine Warriors they aren't worshipped in one place, they are worshipped as the god of; travel. merchants, alcohol and music. Kul'zak is associated with intoxication and the flute.

@kingofpuzzles
Solid boss, he’s listened to more then a few of my info dumps and he’s very polite about it too
Also I usually go to him first to talk about contract changes and the like
@doctorcranes-ask
I have a crush on him even though he’s way out of my age range He’s a really good boss as long as you’re a competent worker which I am
Penguin:
Honestly I work for him almost entirely in a legal fashion (waitstaff and the occasional singing gig) so I almost forgot to include him as a rogue boss.
I’m pretty neutral about him, he’s helped me get my hands on some nice witchcraft books as a bonus for working those singing gigs

Can I mention how incoherent divine warriors lore is?
Like. There was this group of like- six people who kept getting reincarnated, except for one
That's not a big issue. Sure it's vague, but it's not unreasonable.
There's way more issues though in everything else???
For the warriors in general: Jesson turned something that could be really interesting and dynamic into christianity lite, not many people in MyStreet knowing about anyone besides Irene. Which is crazy to me, because all the warriors- aside from Shad- were respected and worshipped in different parts of the world. Ru'aun even worshipped all the warriors, they just focused more on Irene.
Is it realistic that could happen? Yeah, fighting over religion is nothing new- am I pissed Jesson didn't expand it more when Irene is such a big part of the series? Absolutely.
Speaking of Irene!
I- she makes no sense
MCD!Aphmau is established to be Irene without her memories or her powers. Her powers locked away within a relic, and her memories sealed as well.
So how does Jesson explain Irene also being a tangible god. She's both MCD!Aphmau and an outside entity-
In our rewrite we made boundaries to this because Irene comes off as "I wrote myself into a corner and need a way out" sometimes.
So! Rewrite info dump I guess
In our rewrite every divine warrior there are thirteen because we felt like there should be a reason some of these people are so important that Irene made absolute sure they were involved in their next life is reincarnated, duh.
Irene's always been the one to facilitate who goes where, what family they're born into. This choice sometimes had the help of the other warriors, like Sabir, who's domain was time. But others, she had to do it on her own.
But I digress, the point is: Divine powers and memories being reincarnated into a mortal mixes poorly.
So, each warrior had a relic- or rather, their relic- a spirit, and a soul.
Their soul was the one to reincarnate, it was just the essence of their being.
Their relics could be hidden or handled by the other warriors, so that when the reincarnation was in the right time to learn- they could easily access and train those powers once again.
And spirits, they're the memories, the feelings, and even a lot of their magicks/witchcraft potential would be retained, everything that lingered because a new mortal wouldn't be able to handle them.
The warrior's spirits are connected to their reincarnation, their soul. If they draw too much power, if they become too separate, their reincarnation- and their soul- suffers. Aaron gets weaker as the Shadow Lord becomes stronger in both MCD and MYS, in Season 4 when Irene brings him back to life, Aphmau is suddenly so very weak.
So, most warriors' spirits stay shadowing their reincarnation. They're passive thoughts, senses of deja-vu, gut instincts. They can assume a vague form outside of their reincarnation, usually only appearing visually to said reincarnation, but choose not to because of the harm it would cause both themselves and their reincarnation.
Back before Irene & Aziz disappeared, when the reincarnations were told they were- well- reincarnations, and after they'd train with powers in order to do some good, their soul and spirit would blend. Mind you, it was still their reincarnation's mind and personality at this point, they just gained the memories that had been.. locked away. Their personality usually shifted, it wasn't always a pleasant thing to uncover, but it always had to be done.
So when Irene acts as a goddess, or even just as a separate being to Aphmau, it's just her spirit. Any time she pulls something big, changing the tides in a battle, bringing someone back to life, the drawbacks hit Aphmau
Irene also still is responsible for who gets reincarnated where, but before MCD!Aphmau came she was significantly weak, since she had no tangible energy to pull from. It's why the other warriors don't do what Shad does, and why Shad feeds off the shadow knights' energy after death. This also has the bonus of Aaron feeling.. unwell, every time a new knight is created
I really hope this makes sense also the shadow lord is Shad lmao

A Brief History of Demons (In Christian Mythos)
Oooh boy, this one is gonna be a doozy. Demons are probably one of the most well known "supernatural" entities, aside from things like angels, so this post might be a hefty one to research.
Never fear, your local nerdy witch lady is here to info-dump all about it!
Sources will be linked at the bottom of this post for anyone curious <3
Tumblr media
Where Do We Even Start?
Like I mentioned before, demons have been a staple of religious mythos (and the horror genre) since forever. Many people think of very disfigured, scary creatures when they think the word "demon". They are meant to be feared entities, however there are sources who suggest that the demon may not have always had this connotation.
Looking back, the demon we know today was called a daemon or a daimon. This title meant that the creature was a lesser being, not equal to those in the ancient pantheons. Within The Greeks and the Irrational (E.R. Dodds) there are three categories of the daimon.
Category 1: "Those irrational impulses which arise in a man against his will to tempt him."
This category of daimon holds the feelings of hope and fear (via the logic of the Greek poet Theognis). The daimon is seen as a rough personification of emotion.
Category 2: "Daemons projected by a particular human situation"
Category 2 daemons are able to represent things such as famine, drought, pestilence, etc. These were seemingly unexplainable events, and therefore took a supernatural understanding from the people who experienced them. It was believed that these daimons held both positive and negative influence, and therefore were moreso seen as minor gods.
Category 3: Almost like a guardian angel
This category is without its own quote due to the very broad scope of understanding it needs to encompass its meaning. This category is what most cultures and religions in antiquity viewed "demons" as. They were seen more like "guardian angels", which itself is theorized to stem from these abovementioned Greek ideas. With the rise of monotheistic religion, it's theorized that the daimon would eventually split into good and evil, "angel and demon".
Tumblr media
Possession
The idea of a demon that needed to be expelled or exorcized is not something native to ancient Roman or Greek society. The daimon had been a neutral entity until the 4th century B.C.E., and afterwards we see it evolve to represent something more dangerous. However, it was still a very long time before it was seen as something that could literally possess a human.
Many antique spellwork calls upon daimons moreso as helpers that do the bidding of whatever magician is at work. According to Possession and Exorcism in the New Testament and Early Christianity (Eric Sorenson), exorcism was not a common practice in Greco-Roman society even during periods of time when Christianity was king. The practice wasn't even well documented until well into first century CE, and many within these Greco-Roman societies viewed those practicing exorcisms with quite a strong distrain. They were believed to be "fraudulent entrepreneurs in a superstitious world" (Sorenson).
However, if we turn to Mesopotamian societies, they had religious leaders that would take similar ranks to that of a priest that would be able to perform exorcisms. In Zoroastrianism, there already existed an idea of ethical dualism. These previously established ideas potentially had an impact on Jewish beliefs concerning the duality of demons and angels.
Traditional Judaism and the Old Testament do not hold many examples of demonic possessions, however there is explicit fear of witchcraft. Jewish tradition itself provided a starting point in the evolution of daimon to demon, coming in the non-canonical Book of Enoch.
Tumblr media
Book of Enoch and Other Texts
With a shift to monotheistic religion, there was no longer a broad acceptance of the idea of a "good daimon", or its minor god status. One of the earliest known examples of this theological shift is seen in the Book of Enoch, which illustrates the daimon as being a fallen angel.
The passage specifically describes a group of fallen angels that took human women to be their wives. For this action, God punished them by making
"offspring...born of the fallen union to continue the wrong-doing as evil spirits on earth."
This brings upon the daimon a definite sense of evil to its name. It was no longer something that could be invoked for aid, but rather something to be feared.
Following this, we see that (while not always present in the Hebrew Bible) the demon has weight in the New Testament. There are numerous writings of possessions by demons throughout the Gospels, with one of the first noted incidents being in Matthew 4:24 which states:
"News about him [Jesus] spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed..."
This began the tradition of believing that Jesus had the power and the will to drive out these now negative entities. This took away the spiritual autonomy of the daimon, and shoved it to the side of evil.
Tumblr media
Those who may have been demonically possessed were not always thrilled to have exorcisms performed on them, especially if it involved the clashing of cultures (particularly that of the Greco-Roman civilizations mentioned earlier). Example of this comes from Acts, where a young girl who had a spirit inside of her is exorcised by the apostle Paul. It says that one day Paul and Silas were walking to their place of prayer, and encountered
"a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortunetelling."
She began to follow them around and proclaim that they were there to proselytize (convert), and according to the text Paul became so irritated with this that he cast the spirit out. This angered the men who held her as their property, and they brought Paul and Silas before the magistrates, saying that
“‘these men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.'"
Yikes.
Daimon and Christianity
During the time of medieval Europe, we see the ideas of Satan really start to take place. This, of course, influenced the ideas of modern demons.
Within the centuries of early Christianity, there was a much stronger belief in the idea of demonic possession, and demons no longer were associated with pagan religions. This tied into play with the idea that humanity was fighting a holy war against Satan and his army of demonic soldiers; demons were no longer entities of pagan faith but rather the direct consequences of failed belief in an Abrahamic God.
Tumblr media
It was also during this time that demons became more associated with objects of human "sin", as believed in these religions. Where previously daimons had been associated with earthly realms, this stance easily led into beliefs of lust and other sins being the work of Satan's minions.
One of the ways that the antique Church believed they would be able to triumph over Satan and his demons would be to convert pagan groups to their faith. It is very important to note that the extent disease played a role in the spread of Christianity, is very significant. These later iterations of Christianity held the view that Satan himself ruled over evil, and therefore previous unexplained circumstances attributed to minor gods were now attributed to him. Therefore, disease was included in the list of events that were "demonized". It was then believed that exorcism would be able to cure diseases, and that Christ and Christianity was the ultimate protection against falling ill.
Conclusion
While this is absolutely not all the content in the world on demons and their place in history, global religions, etc., it's a beginners' look into their mythos. I hope this was interesting for everyone else curious in these kinds of topics! Let me know if you'd like any additional posts dedicated to demons, I'll be more than happy to oblige <3

I was at a wedding with some cousins I haven't seen in ages, so they're chatting and they start talking about their hyperfixations, and I'm all like "oh cool they're like me....oh no they're not..." because one is saying "oh yeah my hyperfixation used to be mushrooms but now it's frogs," in a way that's like describing what trend they're really loving on tiktok sort of way, and then my other cousin goes "oh yeah mine's witchcraft and crystals and tarot cards" and I'm just hyper masking away to the side and nodding, because my current hyperfixation is Calico Critters, and like, how do I share this in a way that's not all "oh you guy's aren't actually experiencing hyperfixations because you're following the cool trendy thing (because I also enjoy frogs mushrooms and mainstream fortune telling stuff) while I've got the real(tm) 'tism with the "cringy" hyperfixation?" Because they're not about to go into any info dumping. They're not sharing it in a way that they're trying to connect with each other. They're just sharing this in a "oh look at me I'm quirky and not like other people."
And I'm trying to figure out some way to appropriately go "oh mine is Calico Critters, I love their textures, and I'm restraining myself from purchasing the limited release Mole family set because I'm in love with these nondescript black blobs of fuzz, and I'm also going about building up an interconnected community based on the personal descriptions that come for each character on the box because I've got a little brother critter that loves dancing so I have him being really good buddies with the Pookie Panda Daddy because he is a dance teacher, but also they are their own characters that are separate from the official Calico Critter/Sylvanian Families because they're my personal toys, and yes they're toys, I'm not a collector because I never intend to resale them, and they're my buddies, but I have to be careful with them because I can't carry the white ones around in my hoodie pockets because they pick up lint like nobody's business..."

I'd like to introduce these four, my little scringbos, my mippy doos, my blorbobibos, my eebos! information and designs are subjected to change!
okay so I'm gonna info dump a little because I constantly rant to my poly about them a lot and now I'm gonna do it here SO read below the images!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These four! I guess I'm just gonna call them Graves Group cause she was kinda like the group orchestrater and is a very powerful witch with the ability to see, channel and communicate with the dead. She's had that power since she was a very little kid (her scar is from an accident trying to remove that power from herself). These four live in Eon City, Sports has her entire life and so has Silver, but Anon and Grave come from another city beyond the forest.
I kinda already spoke about Grave in my first bit here but she's the daughter of Enchantress Anon, a witch millions of years old who knows the ins and outs of deep, ancient arcane magic and passed knowledge down to Grave. Grave had a hard time making friends when she was a kid, her abilities developed way too quick and she would talk about her encounters with the dead. So while the other kids in class were boasting about what abilities they already had she comes in with "I met an interesting ghost yesterday. His head was torn right off his shoulders, yet I could still speak to him with nothing above his neck." and scare everyone away-
but there was a boy who always found her encounters interesting, her knowledge on every way someone could die, the horrors of the anon body. This boy was named Anon! (I'll explain what anons are briefly. (they aren't related to Tumblr anons) they are beings made of light and stardust with a Material that makes them up (thos material can be anything, Light, Color, Sheet, Electric, Matcha, ect)) Just Anon, he was born with no material, no powers of his own. He didn't have parents, either. just his siblings to care for him. They weren't even really his siblings, they were starchildren, born asexually out of pure star particles. Even without powers, or anything that he thought made him interesting, he was so spontaneous and happy, and obliviously dumb. He liked her, and the things that made her creepy to other people, he too had a fascination with ghost and the undead, but he'd be far too afraid indulging in this fixation himself. Eventually Grave introduced him to her witchcraft, and he became like her assistant!
One day while they were playing in the woods, they came across a girl that was spying on them, and was recognized to be from their classes. She was bolder, and a bit of a bully from what they've heard, but she was nothing like that. She was just loud, and her banter was playful. Sports Anon lived with her mom and younger brother at the time, and had a little sister on the way. She was reckless, a daredevil, a spirit of fire with unusual strength and the ability to materialize sports equipment out of thin air (limited to one at a time. She strayed away from anything spooky or witchy, she made up games to play with rulesets that made little sense- yet the three of them had a blast either way.
They began to hang out a lot more during school, they brought lunches to share with eachother. During one of these lunches, they spotted a new kid to the school eyeing them, and of course Sports went out of her way to sit him down with them. He was terribly shy, and quiet, it was like he didn't know how to socialize at all, but that didn't bother them. He was very observant, and smart, but he had a very one-way thought process. Silver Anon had 117 siblings, and increasing knowledge on combat. When he wasn't home, and training, he found himself loosening up to the others, even if it did seem like he was rude to them sometimes.
But that's when they were kids, and when Silver had both his eyes.
Now, today, Anon and Grave live together in an apartment (no they aren't a thing, Grave likes women and Anon likes candy), Sports still lives with her mom and now her little sister, and Silver lives in the heart of the city, the richest, most stuck up part of the city.
this was supposed to be a short post um ahahA- I'm gonna cut it here but if anyone has any questions or feedback my ask box is always open (please ask me about my characters I am begging you PLEA-)
oh I'm gonna have so much fun showcasing these poor bastards- Coffee Anon OUT!

familiars
familiars are beings that assist those who practice magick. the idea of familiars has been around for a long, long time, though they are mostly associated with 16th-17th europe, but they have roots all the way back to the paleolithic and neolithic concepts. this is found in cave art depicting scenes that are thought to represent magical themes. many of these ancient animals became popular animals for familiar spirits, which indicates that it may be ancient traditions and practices surviving through generations. it’s also seen that many familiar spirits are associated with animals of pagan deities.
most of the modern-world ideas of witchcraft stem from europe after this rise of christianity, and familiar spirits are no different. in 1233 pope gregory ix issued a decree declaring that cats are associated with witchcraft, which caused a mass killing of cats in europe. this purge of the furry creatures led to a rise in europe’s population of rats, which eventually helped to spread the black plague (1347) around europe. cats are often thought to be a similar energy as women, which is why they became such a prominent depiction of familiar spirits. in 1318 pope john xxii sent nine alleged witches to be be prosecuted for a multiple magical practices. in 1563 queen elizabeth issued a witchcraft statute that created a penalty for anyone who is found guilty of conjuring “evil and wicked spirits”.
in the witchcraft trials in europe, “familiar” was often interchanged with words like “imp”, “demon”, or “devil”. it was believed that these spirits sought after witches and attached themselves to them. the witch was then thought to have no choice but to keep the spirit. it was also thought that familiars had names and that the witches did not choose them.
the lore surrounding familiars indicates that witches receive a familiar spirit once they are initiated into the witches’ sect.
one common thing in literature involving familiars is them taking transporting their witch to the sabbat.
a familiar can choose you, or you can choose a familiar. when going about choosing a familiar, many witches use natural affinity. they wait until they find an animal they are drawn to, using their intuition to choose. some, on the other hand, do a journey quest through the astral plane for their familiar.
familiars being sentient beings, they may display inappropriate or unacceptable behavior (by human standards) on some occasions. as time passes in a relationship between a familiar and a witch, it’s likely that the familiar will grow independent and be less compliant. one way to fix this issue is by using seals.
the genesis seal creates a link for a familiar with the material realm. the snake represents the cycle of rebirth. the spirals represent the power of transformation. the number three represents the forces that bring manifestation: time, place, and energy.
the seal of calling is used to evoke/invoke/summon your familiar spirit. the cloud represents manifestation of spiritual forces. the spirals represent the portals to the otherworld. the hand represents the opening of a magical portal.
the seal of departing will send your familiar back to the otherworld. the cave pictured represents the gates to the underworld. the three spirals symbolize transformation. three is the number of manifestations. the fourth stars represent north, east, south, and west respectively.
the seal of protection is to call upon the protective power of your familiar.
philosophy
philosophy is often considered the science of estimating values. it is used to arrange things into order of priority. the mission of philosophy (a priori) is to establish a connection or relation between the visible world to the invisible world, as well as to find the ultimate cause or nature of events or things.
many philosophers have defined philosophy as many different things, so below are some of the most famous definitions of philosophy.
”the science of things divine and human, and of the causes in which they are contained” -cicero
cicero states that philosophy is to study humanity and it’s connection to the divine sources, as well as to establish a reasoning to our containment in corporal forms.
”the science of effect by their causes” -hobbes
this one is pretty self explanatory. hobbes is defining philosophical as cause and effect and the study of them.
”the science of things evidently deduced from the first principles” -descartes
descartes is defining philosophy as the study of things that originate from the divine, often being the first things to thought to have been conceived. many of these first principles revolve around the elements.
”the science of truths, sensible and abstract” - de condillac
here, we have it defined as the study of truth. this truth can be logical or reasonable, like how nature works or it’s components, or even how the soul was created. anything that could be deduced to be a truth.
philosophy is often categorized under six generalized headings which may be broken down further.
the first topic falling under philosophy is metaphysics. this is what is often associated with the study, as it is dealing with abstract, unknown topics, and things outside of the reach of human knowledge.
next is logic. logic is what helps to keep philosophy balanced in its ideas and keeps insane ideas that make no sense being thrown out. these laws that govern our rational thinking are often referred to as the “doctrine of fallacies”.
ethics is the science of morality, individual responsibility, and character. this is where philosophy begins to sink into good vs evil, what is morally incorrect, etc. ethics is concerned primarily with the nature of being good.
psychology is the study of mental phenomena.
epistemology is the science of the nature of knowledge and the question is whether it exists in an “absolute form”.
asthetics is the science of the nature of and the reactions that are “awakened” by beauty.
the ideal function of philosophy is to serve as the stabilizing influence in human thought.
there are many schools of philosophy, although few are known to the common public. the ionic school was founded by thales who believed the primal element to be water and the earth to float upon it. he died in 546 b.c., passing the school onto his student, anaximander. he believed infinity made up all things. his successor, anaximenes, asserted air to be the first element of the universe, thinking even the god(s) were made of it. archelaus, another member of the ionic school, thought all things to be twofold. mind and air, resulting in fire and water. heraclitus, who is sometimes grouped with the ionic school, believed the primal element of the world to be fire, and that the world would eventually be consumed back into flame.
pythagoras of samos founded the pythagorean school. he thought math to be sacred. anyone who came to learn from pythagoras was to learn arthimetic, music, astronomy, and geometry. he was among the first to establish a community where everyone was of equal use. archytas, a member of the pythagorean school, is credited with the invention of the screw and the crane. he declared pleasure as a disease, and believed that a man who does no deceive is “as rare as a fish without bones”.
the eleatic sect was founded by xenophanes. he believed all things to be eternal, and thought the world to have no beginning and no end. to him, everything could be corrupted. leucippus said the universe to be one part full, and one part vacuum. democritus agreed with this atomic theory, but expanded upon it with his own thought. he said the principle of all things was atoms and vacuum. he believed the soul was an atomic structure and could die with our bodies. he thought the mind to be made of spiritual atoms.
cryptids
a cryptid is defined as an animal that has been claimed to exist, but we have no proof of.
the australian big cat (briagolong tiger, jamberoo tiger, kingstown killer, nightgrowler, tanjil terror, etc.) they are said to be nocturnal animals, even becoming louder with their growls/shrieks during the night. they are reported to be i afraid of both humans and cars, although they mainly prey on sheep by beheading them. there are many possible sightings of this cat, although physical descriptions vary. sightings began in 1909 when a large, black cat was sighted in the hills around jamberoo, new south wales. in the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s, a big cat that could allegedly eat an adult sheep in one sitting was investigated near briagolong, victoria. in emmaville, new south wales, there was a large, black cat reported multiple times. in 1956-1957, 340 sheep were killed on a single ranch. the case was declared solved on at least two occasions, but the tales continued on. in the late-1960s, early-1970s, and mid-1990s there were resurgences of sightings of the panther-like creature. in cordering, western australia, there was a report of a large cat that could kill sheep with “surgical precision”. many of them had their skin peeled back and the meat taken of their bones. kangaroos were also found with fatal puncture wounds.
bar-manu is a creature of central asia. it is described as very muscular, and covered with dark hair. it has short, guttural cries, but does not speak. it’s behavior describes it as an omnivore. their tracks are human like with the feet facing inward. in in the hindu kush range in 1977, purdum khan watched one of these creatures. he described it to eat leaves and ant-larvae.
basilisk is a creature of europe and north africa. it is described as anywhere 12 inches to 20 feet in length with a bright white spot upon its head. it later came to be described as a bird sporting a rooster’s comb and a snake’s tail. it’s described as moving with its middle portion up. the basilisk is said to be born from a cock’s egg that is hatched by a toad or snake. in roman temples, its skin was used to protect from spiders, snakes, and birds, as it was thought to deter them. if a basilisk were to see it’s own reflection, it would cause the creature’s death. in italy (1212), a basilisk was said to have killed many people until pope leo iv destroyed it with a prayer. this same year another was thought to be found in a well. in 1587, two polish children were killed by what was thought to be a basilisk. they were found dead in the cellar by a servant.
demonology
everyone knows the idea of a demon’s name holding power. in the catholic rite of exorcism (roman ritual), the name of a demon is important. this importance comes from the gospel of mark and the gospel of luke. when jesus was confronted by a possessed man, he requests the name of the demon before exorcising it, which implies that the name of the demon has power over it. in fact, this idea goes back to ancient belief from babylon, sumer, and akkad. names of demons and devils are thought to act as a beacon, calling them to our world when their names are said. this idea is actually a large reason there are many nicknames for satan. in the middle ages in europe, they began to come up with names like old nick or old scratch, hoping this would give the the devil less power over their life. many demons are presented as fallen angels, meaning they keep the usual suffix for angelic names like -ael or -iel.
a large impact on european concept of demons comes from the testament of solomon. this book presents demons as a force that torments humanity with death, disaster, and disease, as well as showing them being compelled or bound by their names. the testament of solomon also introduces demons to be fallen angels or the children of said angels after they had come to earth. this knowledge was already present in many pagan religions, but it became relevant to christians with its introduction to the bible.
grimoires
grimoires are books of magick. their name derives from the old french word “grammaire”, which refers to all the books written in latin, but the term began to be used for books of magick specifically sometime around the 18th century.
these books have been viewed as possessing an incredible amount of power, and only those properly initiated into the mysteries were meant to read them. many early grimoires detail demons, angels, elemental spirits, and other beings.
many early grimoires are devoted to summoning and controlling demons. the spells in these grimoires are said to read similar to latin priestly orientations. this is due to the fact that many of the traditions in these grimoires were practiced by members of the clergy. members of the clergy were often the only ones with the literary abilities to read, write, or copy these texts.
despite members of the clergy practicing with demonic magick, western europe was being swept up in the persecution of witches. with the mania at the time, these texts detailing demons became known to be associated with witchcraft and satan.
the demonology of western europe came forth from many key sources like the bible, the qabbalah, hellenic magick (curse tablets, magical papyri, etc.), and the mythology of ancient middle east.
demonic possession likely comes from ancient sumerian ideas of demons of illness inhabiting the human body to cause disease.
egregores
an egregore is “a psychic entity composed of and influencing the thoughts of groups of people”. while this is a common meaning of the word today, there is an older meaning to it. in ancient practices, egregores were a home or conduit for psychic intelligence of a non-human nature. they were essentially defined as non-human humans. they connect the world we live in with the invisible world. for the word derives from the greek word égrégoros, which means “wakeful” or “watcher”. godwin believed these creatures to be originated from ancient greece and rome. their daily practices and lifestyles were focused towards preserving the harmony between the invisible world and the material world. an important factor is that egregores are created and sustained from belief, ritual, and sacrifice. egregores were formed to protect over important areas to the greeks and romans. as long as offerings and devotions continued to these beings, they would protect and serve those who served them. when new cults came into being and the energy of worship was directed elsewhere, however, the agreement is broken and the egregore will stop protecting the specified land and its people.
