Elain let out a sound like, "eep!"

It was only natural to be frightened of a faerie like him, human or not. Tamlin was enormous, like a Cassian without wings, with long hair like spun gold and a predator's gorgeous, arresting eyes framed with long, perfect lashes. Power rumbled under his skin like a distsnt storm, his footsteps shaking the earth. Elain shrank back like a startled deer, staring at the wolf for one long, incredulous moment before it was ripped to shreds.

Tamlin's brow furrowed, hand rubbing his chest where Elain had slammed her forehead into him. It was a slow, puzzled movement - and Elain was relieved to think that maybe he didn't recognize her. He didn't know who she was related to. But, he had to remember, didn't he? There was no way he wouldn't remember the moment that his lover decided to rip apart everything he'd ever held dear.

Elain waited for him to snarl, to show his sharp teeth, maybe to grab her with a clawed hand, maybe to bite her and leave her sprawled on the floor in a crimson pool.

Then, at last, Tamlin muttered, "Apologies," before awkwardly moving his bulky frame aside so that Elain could squeeze herself through the doorway.

"Th -" Elain remembered how to breathe. "Thank you."

He grunted in acknowledgement and she nearly lept out of her skin. This seemed to embarrass him; he noticed her startle and became gloomier for it. It was amazing, when Elain was the one who'd been given a real shock. This was the second time that he'd surprised her by not reacting in the ways she'd expected him to.

Or, she considered, in the ways that Feyre and Rhysand had always assured he would.

"Well," said Elain. "Good day to you."

Tamlin nodded. "You, too."

He was so odd, Elain thought, eyeing him as he stalked towards the staircase at the back of the room - to Nomi's office, she realized.

Wheel animals!!! Another one for the filtertube/seedling/vaseplant phylum!! The Wheel Flowelions are very smart predators. They climb to the top of hills and slopes, and wait for their prey to get in the right position. When their prey is under them, they will deinflate and retract their many "legs", then roll down at great speeds and crush their prey with great weight and metallic bone plates, instantly killing their prey and breaking their bones. Wheel Flowelions normally walk by pushing themselves around with their legs, and only use rolling when they already have an impulse or are rolling downhil. Their outer body layers have many shock absorption mechanisms, like fluid-filled sacks and gelatinous blubbler, although i will get into the details of how those work later. Also, if you are questioning how they eat, their mouth actually is an proboscis that can expand out Inspsired by vathyzoics' rotozoans. My beloved rolling cucumbers <3

To quote a tweet I read about a year ago: DVD commentaries and special features were a golden age for film trivia nerds, and the streaming era should have helped that flourish instead of eradicating it entirely.

It's so true!!!! Behind the scenes speical features and intervews with the casts and crews of the movies I loved growing up is exactly what inspsired me to go to college for film and media studies! I'm sure that's true for about half of all film and media study students out there! Seing how it's made inspires me to want to be in their shoes someday!

In the age of social media and streaming and people always having camera in their pockets, it should be even easier for behind the scenes information to pop up! it should be even easier for the cast and crew to conduct self-made interviews about their experience! But no! Instead of going a route that would only make companies and studios even more money and get them even more aspiring film makers, they decided to go in the complete opposite direction and eradicate them entirely because it's easier!! Where's the heart in that??? Where's the passion????

This is a small drawing I made in my sketchbook, using my eye as a reference, I wanted to illustrate how your vision and thoughts can break you, however, I did't want to convey a negative image, the colours I added to the piece shows how strong a person can be that theres always a positive and bright side that can shine through.

This drawing is inspsired by David Altmejd's work as I said earlier I was inspired by how he lets his style loose and free this was what I wanted to illustrate that. I also wanted to show off different colours in this piece as well just like Altmejd's pieces they all include such vibrancy and individuality, so I hope my inspiration can been seen here.

Good luck on your writing today! What do you do when you 'have to' write for a story (because patrons voted) but you have no inspsiration or would rather write on another work?

An excellent question!

The short answer is you just... persevere. However, that's a really simple, pat response for what is often (for me) a basically complex negotiation with the writer part of myself that lives in the toddler world of "I want".

Here's a bit more detail for dealing with "I don't want to write it but I have to"

1. Environment: I remove distractions as best I can. Phone - hidden, any sort of fidget toy - removed. I use Cold Turkey (https://getcoldturkey.com/) to block out everything except what I need when writing. I don't give myself a choice. This is the world of Get It Done. 8/10 very effective but it can lead to self resentment plus occasional screams of torture as my brain thinks "I'll just check twitter quick" and it's blocked.

2. Bribery: "If you write 2000 words of this project, you can write 500 words of your other fave project as a treat." Or "You can have some chocolate" etc etc. This sometimes works, but the problem is I'm soft with myself, so I often actually just get chocolate or whatever other bribery material anyway. 2/10 not very effective but it's important to treat yo'self.

3. Gameification: I'm an old-end millenial and respond very well to "let's make it a game!" and 4thewords.com does this brilliantly. I've been using it for nearly three years now and my output has gone through the roof. Basically, you use your wordcounts to defeat monsters within time limits ot beat quests. I think they have a free trial right now for NaNo as well. If you wanna try it out I have a referral code as well which is BNRLZ21330 10/10 can't actually function without this anymore.

4. Scheduling: I thrive on routine, and scheduling helps, because it lets me mentally prepare. So if I know I've got a day coming up where I have to work on a project where I'm blocking, or my inspiration has flagged a bit, I devote more mental energy to preparing for it. 7/10 - does sometimes come with inherent dread in which case move to #5

5. Know that sometimes, it's okay to say no: There are days when forcing myself to write the thing is going to backfire in a huge way. It's going to lead to me banging my head on a desk and tearing my hair out and deciding I am a sham and a fraud and an absolute hack and just no.

On those days, where I'm more likely to sit at my computer and burst into tears, I call it quits. It's okay to do that, sometimes. I don't mean like, throw in the writing towel forever. I mean, step away from the word processor, take a deep breath, and if you can choose a different aspect of creativity, like painting, or textile work, or wandering around your house roleplaying stories (Watch out, witnesses find this distressing) Chances are, your brain needs the break. 11/10 more important than anything else is knowing to be kind to yourself. Writing, even writing what you love, isn't always fun. Sometimes it's just work, and sometimes, you just need to take that sick-day.

What Do You Desire to Indulge In?

Since I started Crazy Blonde Life so many years ago, my tagline has been “A Daily Indulgence”. Today, for some reason, I decided to look up the meaning of indulgence…

Indulgence - The practice of allowing enjoyment of whatever is desired

You can indulge in anything! You can indulge in bad food, you can indulge in Netflix, you can indulge in literally anything you want!

After I looked up indulgence, I looked up quality and was surprised at how many definitions of quality there are, but the one I was looking for was…

Quality - A degree of excellence

From where I’m standing, quality and indulgence should go hand in hand. Do you want a life of quality and can you indulge in quality.

Quality can exist in the most simple situations. You can’t really compare sleeping in a luxury hotel with sleeping under the stars on a beautiful night, but they’re both quality experiences. You can’t compare eating in a 5 star restaurant to eating a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie straight from your oven, but they’re both quality experiences. What do you want to indulge in? What do you desire in your life…? Do you desire quality in your indulgences?

Do you feel that desiring something whether you indulge or not makes you ungrateful for what you have?

I personally believe that living a life of gratitude for what you have while still desiring more is a magical state of being.

I don’t know exactly what I want in my life, but I have realized as the years have gone by that I want to use the platforms that I’ve grown (including this blog) to help women live a life that they love and are creating on purpose. Quality to me is living a life that feels good, a life with possibilities for more while at the same time, being grateful for what I have and what I’ve created.

Quality experiences, friendships, conversation, clothing and food are things that are indulgent essentials as far as I’m concerned. The quality of your life equals the quality of what you decide to indulge in. So…if indulgence means indulging in the enjoyment of what is desired…desire needs to be considered before the indulgence happens. I believe we all desire a beautiful life and I also believe we should indulge accordingly.

Choose your indulgences wisely and the quality of your life will follow!

When it comes to fashion, I have realized that investing in a few great quality pieces each season is the key to building a wardrobe that will stand the test of time. The pants I’m wearing are by Ulla Johnson - the cut of these is almost exactly the same but they’re not offered in green this season. Ulla offers them every season in a slightly different look. I bought these pants three seasons ago and still love them so much. My Ark Bag from Cult Gaia is also three years old and it is my go-to summer bag and looks amazing with everything. The shoes and blouse were purchased this year and I know they will be worn many times!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post…I really enjoyed thinking about indulgence, desire and quality and they all should interact with each other…It was a fun post to write! I still consider my blog posts a daily indulgence for those who read them and I hope you do as well!

Living a quality life has become my passion. Mindset is my top priority and really has everything to do with how I live each day.
