I believe I have now reached the end of this short photo series. I wanted to end with a cracker and this surely is one. I started the series to move my Instagram feed into something more autumn-y, giving it the warm and lovely colours of the season. I felt that the Kodak Aerochrome look was a nice touch and surely very fitting. And I’m glad the photos had the response they had in these last weeks. But I also think I have been pushing this too far. The most successful picture in my feed as of today is one belonging to this series (the bamboo forest in Kyoto). But it’s also the most “fake”, since it includes a lot more post-production work than I had ever done on any other photo. It was still plausible of course, but it left a sort of bitter aftertaste knowing that faking it was somehow worth more than making it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the result. Very happy. But I now feel the need to go back to something much simpler. And perhaps more minimal as well. And so I’m publishing the last picture of the series, which is possibly even more quirky and unconventional and “pushed” than its siblings. This, before tuning my feed to something completely different. As you may have seen in my recent Stories, I am much more frequently shooting street photography these days. I will also run a workshop in London in a month time, together with @john.hughes.photography, and I want to show my skills in this field more in order to support the workshop itself. It’s going to be an interesting experiment as well. I want to see how you all are going to react, since all “the experts” say the Instagram feed should be kept consistent and that I should probably rather open a separate account for that. Well, let’s prove them wrong, shall we?
