A cloud of uncertainty hangs over the future of international student visas in Canada. As the country grapples with a housing crisis,  strong wording from the federal government in recent months suggests it is looking to potentially cap the number of study permits issued to prospective international students to help alleviate the housing demand. “Enough is enough,” said Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship  in December of last year. “If provinces and territories cannot do this, we will do it for them, and they will not like the bluntness of the instruments that we use,” he said.

The reality is we don't have much time. Everything is coming together at once and sometimes, it's hard to choose between priority over needs, responsibility over wants. Whatever it is, always choose what makes you happy and put yourself as number one top of your priorities.✨

Di ko pa sana gagamitin 'tong gift card kaso napadaan ako sa mall kanina nung pauwi ako. Kaya ibinili ko na.
I've been looking for a sign these past few days and di ako bingo ni Lord. My angel number showed up sa receipt '222' bruuuhh 🫶🏻✨
Last year pinatattoo ko yan when I got my LOA from Humber it was December 22, 2k22 and imagine, andito na ako ngayon 🥹
It's amazing how a year can change your lifestyle in just a glimpse. Surviving each day and dealing with different people from school and work kahit na minsan I feel so drain na feeling ko wala ng progress ang lahat kinakaya ko pa din naman and kung ito man yung 'right path' for me for sure kakayanin ko pa 'to in the future 🙏🏼

Snow in November
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't believe it is happening. Just 3 days after my last post, it started snowing. Some locals told me that the snow came late this year. It was supposed to start in the last week of October just after Halloween. I really didn't know what to expect but it looks aesthetic in pictures. In reality, it is quite a hassle to go around with snow on the ground. I have to wear bulky clothes and wear boots. I am still not used to it.
The snow is powdery and soft. After the snow fell, the place looked straight like the picture books I used to have back then. It is quite *magical*. It reminds me that I am no longer in the Philippines. I remembered how far we had been through.
The days are getting shorter and the days are longer. Sometimes this place looks like a ghost town: A cold, dark, and silent city. To be honest, there is really nothing going on aside from downtown. However, I rarely go there. On the brighter side, it is really peaceful here and laid back. I feel like I have lots of time to spend. Probably because we rarely have traffic here. On most days I can walk to where I work. I didn't have to deal with jeepneys where I struggled commuting back home.
The pictures below are our first snow pictures.

International students in Toronto will be adversely affected by an impending federal rule that will limit them to working 24 hours a week off-campus when school is in session, students and advocates say. Immigration Minister Marc Miller said last spring the new rules would take effect in September, however a spokesperson for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada said in an email that the federal department is still working toward implementing the regulatory changes this fall. They could not provide a more specific timeline.  Miller previously said the 24-hour cap will ensure international students can focus on their studies, while having the option to work. "Students who want to come here have to realize that they can only work 24 hours in order to offset some of their costs or bring the material resources themselves when they come here," Miller said on April 29.
