my deadname/legal name is something heavily associated with that "stereotypical transmasc name" shit like essentially every list has it on there and I feel like that has intersected with my intersexuality in a very uncomfortable way. due to the fact that I look vaguely trans no matter what I do and I have one of those joked about names in the mainstream online queer community that I can't detach from right now because Legal Name, I have been approached so many times by people loudly asking me if I'm a trans man or fully assuming, including people in professional places like a new job I'm working at. Often actively mentioning my name as a reason. which is so unsafe. it's additionally personally distressing because all of the assumptions people are making are based on things I did not at any point decide on, but because they believe me to be a trans man, it's easy for them to therefore think that my deadname is actually the name I chose and my appearance is something I actively contributed towards, so I am outwardly socially and physically transitioning in their eyes, and therefore there's no harm in pointing out The Obvious. "stereotypical transmasc name" jokes are so deeply unfunny

Hey perisex people, who the fuck cares what intersex people identify with. It's not your fucking business. In general, stop fucking asking people about their agab and body parts. People will identify with whatever feels comfortable and if you don't like it, it's no one's problem but yours. Stop trying to be the HOA of identity.
Also while I'm here please stop using slurs.

Gonosimulistic- it's a better scientific replacement for "hermaphrodite". Use it. It's better and more accurate, and the only bad part is that we haven't bothered to codify or list the derived forms.
For a while, I was resigned to using "hermaphrodite" because I'm a biologist, and we will always need some way to describe animals like slugs or clownfish that aren't gonochoric.
I have been enlightened. Thank you, @ders1tes for showing me a better path- my argument towards the use of "hermaphrodite" was never that it isn't a slur, it's that we needed something for animals in a scientific context, and "intersex" was firmly centred on humans or at most, gonochoric vertebrates.
Anyway:
Gonosimulistic: Adjective form. "Slugs are a textbook example of a gonosimulistic species."
Gonosimulist: Singular noun form. "This slug is a gonosimulist."
Gonosimulists: Plural noun form. "Many slugs are gonosimulists."
Sequential gonosimulist: A species that changes sexes over its lifespan.
Simultaneous gonosimulist: A species that produces both male and female gametes.

i wish people would believe me when i tell them the scientific fact that ‘males’ and ‘females’ (human) dont actually have that much non-reproductive biological differences. but media propaganda is so prevalent that people think theres an actual way ‘males and females’ are supposed to look; especially the notion that ‘males’ are ‘biologically stronger than females’ which is just isn’t accurate to reality

In a truck stop bathroom washing my hands today and 2 boys, looked about 5 and 9, came in with their little sister who looked maybe 2. The following whispered conversation made my entire day
"We have to wait, there's a lady in here!"
"That's not a lady, he has a mustache! We can be in here!"
"Some ladies have mustaches! And she has boobs!"
"Well some guys have boobs! Like Uncle Jake!"
"Uncle Jake is fat!"
At this point I could not contain a chuckle and both whirled around with identical looks of panic on their faces. I smiled and said "it's alright for you guys to be in here so your sister has help, don't worry. And I'm both! That's why I have boobs and a mustache. Some folks are just built that way"
(In unison) "Ooooooh!"
(older boy) "So do you use Sir or Ma'am or both?"
"Both, but I prefer Sir"
"Cool! Well thanks Sir! We have to help our sister now!"
This was in a small town country truck stop and both boys had "Murica" type stuff on and neither of them had any issue at all with these concepts. Their mom approached me while I was in line about 10 minutes later and apologized for them bothering me in the bathroom (they had told her about the interaction) and she and I had a lovely little chat too. I got to introduce her to the term "intersex" and her reply was "I think I've heard of that before! I didn't know that was the word for it. Amazing how many different ways God can make people!"
Sometimes the world is good. More often than you might think, if you give it a chance. It's not all bad loves <3

To me saying something like:
"there are no camab intersex men claiming to be trans men/trans mascs like there are cafab intersex women claiming to be trans women/trans fems"
is on par with saying things like:
"there are no she/her gay men trying to claim gay identity like there are he/him lesbians trying to claim lesbian identity"
because it's just simply an untrue statement that is based on the assumption that just because you personally don't see something, it's not real.
All it tells me that you don't seek out interactions with intersex and nonbinary people who are legitimately marginalized / underrepresented in these conversations about the complexities of ones own identity, because they do, in fact, actually exist.
If you find yourself saying something that echos the phrasing of "[ W group of people ] doing [ X ] don't exist and therefore [ Y group of people ] doing [ Z ] are wrong/dangerous/harmful/etc." I think maybe you should stop and examine any potential biases and environmental factors in your own life that lead you to believe that [ W group of people ] don't exist / couldn't possibly exist in the first place.
Especially if we're discussing otherwise good faith self identification.
Lead with curiosity. Don't assume or project potential harm without first examining your own biases and fears. We live in a culture that shuts down curiosity about any kind of "other" and primes you to assume that difference is a threat to your safety rather than a potential source of solidarity. You are not immune from that socialization even as a queer person, and are especially susceptible to it if you are white. Be vigilant of it. Be open to others. Stop assuming malicious intent to harm when people are seeking out language to define their experiences and try to listen first instead.

No matter your answer, you have another opportunity right now.
We are a group of LGBTIQ+ refugees struggling to survive in Sudan. Every day, we face unimaginable persecution, violence, and rejection. On top of this, we are battling severe shortages of food, medical care, and shelter.
Hunger is a daily reality. Many of us go days without food, and medical assistance is nearly impossible to access. Our shelters are small and inadequate, leaving us exposed to harsh conditions. For lesbians, even basic sanitary products are out of reach.
With your help, we can change this. Your donation will go directly toward food, medication, and urgently needed tents to provide safe shelter. No amount is too small every dollar makes a difference in our survival.
🌍 Please donate today and be part of our fight for survival. Your kindness can help improve and even save our lives.

pride months coming up so a reminder not to forget about trans mascs who
-are left out of reproductive healthcare discussions and are ignored by cis men and women
-arent seen as men or non binary but rather seen as 'women lite'
-are also intersex (trans intersex people exist and are valid)
-are asexual and/or aromantic or are straight or bisexual
-havent gone through any surgeries and/or havent gone on hormones and/or havent socially transitioned
-have fully transitioned or dont want to transition
-have different transition timelines and/or have been on and off of hormones
-have a very complicated relationship with gender
-are also transfem and/or consider themselves multigender
-have to remind people that transmasc doesn't equal trans man
-feel invisible or forgotten or excluded from lgbt spaces

Pride month is getting closer
Remember to include trans men and mascs, nonbinary people and intersex people in your posts and your activism.
Remember them.
Remember them or perish, even.

These are just a few of the reasons I LOVE the LGBTQIA+ community so much!
It's always important to remember what being a part of a community like this means. For me personally it means home, it means love, friendship and safety but for millions of people across the world right now it's the opposite, with everything going on in the world (especially with the recent rulings in the UK and USA) it's easy to forget that not everyone has a safe space in the world, they're being persecuted and hated for just being themselves!
Remember people, be there, be seen, be careful, be proud but above all be kind!
And on that note, if you need a friend, a place to vent or rant about anything that's going on in your life then my inbox and DMs are open to all who need a friendly face and listening ear.
If your family don't accept you then I'm your family now. Go eat, drink some water, and take your meds!
💜💜

I wish you had not gone through that. Intersex transgender people are valid, and that includes intersex gender nonbinary people! The gatekeepers are wrong and foolish.
the problem with being an intersex nonbinary person is that you have experienced both uniquely transmasc and transfem things, but because you are neither you can join neither conversation without being told “you’re afab you can’t have experienced this!” or “you’ve not medically transitioned so this can’t happen to you!”
intersex trans people exist. intersex nonbinary people exist. regardless of what our “agab” is, or whether we’ve taken hormones or not, we have experiences that need to be included in your conversations. by gatekeeping these conversations you’re leaving vital voices out of the narrative.

Pssst btw as a cisintersex being i give every transintersex being the permission / right to use any terms made exclusively for intersex people even / especially if the coiner labels them as 'not for transintersex' :3
you never needed the permission and you can do what you want forever, but i'm being extra spiteful.
