After Cari, my dark tan TD Doll XunYiChao, arrived, I decided to do a small resin comparison of currently available colors for tans and 1 normal pink skin.

Light tan from TD Doll is very very pale, it doesn't show much darker than an slight olive toned normal skin. In comparison, dark tan is really a rich dark color, definitely worth the $60 extra for it (light tan also comes with a $60 up charge for a 1/3+ sized doll).

I also compared the light tan to some other light tan resins that I have at home which are currently available from their respective companies with and without flash:

Jointed Hand: TD Doll normal pink 2019 (yellowed)

Spare male hand: DFA light tan 2021

Full arm and hand: TD Doll light tan 2020 (I labeled it wrong)

Foot: Iplehouse peach gold skin 2021

I have a couple of other tans at home, which are discontinued or have been updated as color options, such as:

LoongSoul french brown 2021 (Black Dragon release)

TD Doll tan 2019 (was replaced in 2020 with light and dark tan options)

Dollzone tan 2013

Dream Valley original tan from 2020

Soom bronze from 2012

Fairyland tan 2013

Today we got an Iplehouse EID Gentle Akando in white skin. He'd mellowed a lot over the years, so the client asked me to color match him back to his original white color to fit a new body from Iplehouse.

He'd also arrived with a faceup already, which I was asked to wipe. Luckily he gave it up easily and quickly.

Iplehouse fid Harace by Ali MacTavish-Riach Via Flickr: I adopted an Iplehouse fid Harace from a fellow DoA member and eventually got around to redoing her faceup. The faceup she had was lovely but just not to my taste. I've wanted an Iplehouse bjd for years and am utterly delighted to have been given the opportunity to finally own one.

Grand Court Rococo dress in pink and cream colors. Made after late XVIII Rococo fashion, right before French Revolution. Striking dresses featured by Marie Antoinette had a quirky super wide but flat skirt and were made out of fine silks or rich brocades. No way such dresses could hold the shape without strong wire support. So I created a basket / pannier wire armature which holds the skirt in place.

Instructions - with elastic diameter AND recommended elastic length! (I wish this was industry standard.)

Puma pet doll with Type A head ordered blank from Iplehouse on Feb 23, 2024 and arrived today, which is less than 2 months (speed of light in the BJD world). 62 cm from head to tail tip and HEAVY. Standing when all the weight is in the center and the legs are on the corners is... difficult.

I plan to blush with airbrush acrylic paint. Iplehouse said they don't sell pet dolls blushed anymore because they had problems with the blushing not sticking to the doll. I find that airbrush paint tends to stick better than pastels, so... wish me luck.

Spouse saw me get the box and sighed. heh heh heh

He'll come around when I put kitty in his lap.
