the problem with taz balance is that half of the things that make me want to recommend it to people are major spoilers that will fundamentally change the listening experience

#eliot posts #taz #the adventure zone #like i've gotten a few followers to check it out with my constant posting of it #but also my posts are full of major spoilers #which i won't say ''ruin'' the experience #bc it's still very good with all the twists revealed #and in some ways the dramatic irony of knowing so many things that the characters don't makes listening SO FUN #but at the time. i wish SO BADLY that i could wipe my mind of everything that happens in taz balance #and listen to it for the first time again #i started listening back while it was still coming out #and the fun of figuring out the mysteries and then having your whole view forcibly recontextualized by The Big Reveal #absolutely unparalleled

i'm so fucking stressed out

#dude my dog had acl repair surgery in march #she's healed fine with that but developed stomach issues #so she's been back and forth to the vet with that #and now when i was at work she just randomly started walking weird as fuck. she kicks her leg that was operated on backwards as she walks #and sometimes looses balance in both legs #and then when i pick her up she acts like it hurts her spine or something #i'm gonna wake up in 4 hours to call the vet and see if they can see us today and pray that this isn't something that she'll need surgery #for again #i also am supposed to work tomorrow and then friday we have a rehearsal dinner and then saturday the wedding which is two hours away.#vets closed on sunday so if she can't get seen tomorrow it'll be a whole new fiasco trying to get her helped somewhere else #this dog is my lifeline like it #ruins me #seeing her like this #genuinely if i didn't have her i wouldnt be here #it's so hard to watch her not even be able to walk #but it's so fuckinf weird bc my mom said she was just laying in her bedroom and she came back out doing it? there's nothing she could've #gotten into it just makes no fuckinf sense #like it's possible either her kneecap or her acl implant thing popped out of place but #she stiffens her entire body when i pick her up #and she acts like she's losing balance #it's so fucking weird #i'm also terrified that i'm about to get told she has some kind of onset of neurological problems and she'll have to get put down #or something along those lines #it's just too much rn #pls keep my doggy in ur thoughts #we just spent 3k on her surgery in march if she has to get operated on again first of all the recovery process all over again sounds like #a nightmare #but just the cost alone #i'm gonna FUCKING KILL MYSELF

#just watched s 2 ep 7 of the vampire show #and these are just some ramblings that hopefully will not offend fans of the show im just trying to articulate my thoughts to myself #i think it was a cool idea to turn their trial into one of the theatrical performances onstage #however im still annoyed at how the domestic violence episode happened and was apparently a real thing #like idk it just ruins the whole vibe in the book of how these characters were living together doing awful things to humans yet #somehow mostly carrying on in civilized peace and not ever directing that violence toward each other for decades on end #this choice messes up the characterizations and relationship dynamics too much for me somehow #also messes up the aesthetics that are a delicate balance between the savage and grotesque and polite and refined #it was important to me that lestat wasnt the one to first cross that line in the books and that claudia was #i feel like kinda the one thing that lestat had going for him in the first book as a standalone story #was that he didnt ever cross certain lines with louis and claudia that the show made him cross there?#he seemed to have a different inner set of rules when it came to what violence he would do to humans and what he would do to them #it's hard to even articulate what kind of shittiness is a dealbreaker in a character or a ship to me #especially when theyre constantly doing stuff like feeding on people to stay alive #but for some reason lestat and louis beating the shit out of each other is just such a nonsense ooc thing to make them do in my opinion #also claudia in the book was valid for what she did to lestat already i thought. i dont see why they had to change or add to the motives #she was turned into a vampire at age 5 and therefore almost purely a vampire in nature and also totally valid in not being happy about it #and in the books lestat made her a vampire on his own after louis fed on her and they did not discuss it beforehand #and he never mentioned rules about a child vampire being forbidden and louis did not beg him to do it. in fact one of the biggest reasons #that louis and claudia decide to turn on lestat is because theyre convinced hes just pretending to know more than he does about vampirism #and either has nothing to teach them or wont ever let them go so they can find out anything for real about their own kind #these changes in the show bother me too but i think im not that good at articulating why #i also feel like as much as book louis's weakness and passiveness and guilt can get frustrating and isn't always interesting to follow #in a way that's kinda one of his more saving graces and most defining traits as a vampire as well - so i dont always know how to feel #about them making his character more powerful and aggressive and involved in things in the show at times?#on one hand i often get frustrated at his moping and indecisiveness and inactivity in the books #and yet on the other hand i find i miss his quieter softer excruciatingly polite book personality when i am watching the show at times too #p #vmpcs

In addition to cormorants, seals, and a horse and trap regularly clopping down the high street, this morning I was delighted to discover that my neighbours have employed a goat in their garden

#Earth & Stone #I've always been worried that they would tidy up and ruin that garden #Granted everything needs managed but it's always been a bit of a nightmare that one day #I feared they might pave over the whole things whereas right now it's a wonderful haven of flowers and wildlife #But a goat? That's by far the best possible outcome; it's even an improvement #Honestly this town is just a nice balance of humanity #Could I do without the drunks screaming at 3AM? Yes but in a new housing estate you never see goats #We're all just existing here and it's lovely #Even if the other neighbours over the street do feed the seagulls which is insane #It's like a spare bit of Fife that the developers and the curtain-twitchers and SUV brigade forgot #But at the same time it's not as Quaint TM and pretty and expensive as the East Neuk #It's the dandelion of towns

actually should be illegal that i have to go to work and mark during the winter. i should only have to read fanfic, consume excessive amounts of coffee, complete crochet projects, and stare longingly at the sunset.

I always have to be purposefully ignorant abt cdrama age gaps bc what do you mean 15 and 21

#like you 100% don’t have to make that the age gap..#esp when the female actress is actually a year older than the guy like .#there’s zero reason they can’t be like idk at least 18 and 21 like pls be frfr 😭#it makes no difference to anything in the plot how old these people are #‘period accurate’ this isn’t even a super loyal #period setting anyway like does it matter 😭😭#like literally it’s just some girl and some guy it’s not contemporary where there age gap represents like high school and grown with a job #like the age of each of them is mentioned only like once so why make the age gap so weird #like the only age thing is ‘he’s been being pestered to marriage for years and she’s only just moved to the capital and gotten proposals’#but like that works if she’s older too she’s just been in the country for her whole life until then…#and the whole power imbalance of him as an important general and proxy member of the imperial family is like. a heavy plot point #so if you’re going all purposefully navigating and communicating to enable for balance of power within an uneven power relationship #why ruin it with that age gap. sigh
