i don't have positive or negative feelings about NYC, but in Alan Wiesman's book The World Without Us he has a chapter on the sewer system there and how high maintenance it is, how without humans there to keep it running NYC would get entirely reclaimed by water in a matter of days, and how on 9/11 the entire city was one mistake away from being completely submerged Atlantis-style under millions of gallons of sewage. so now that's the only thing i can think about when i think about new york.

I’m still not over how Bizarre “Elation” is as an episode.

It starts off with Ladybug preparing a table with delicious baked goods knowing it would only at most be a minute or two to spend.

Chat noir convinced that Ladybug is testing him and not at all in love with him because he has dealt with 4+ seasons of rejection. No way it could happen. So he leaves and decides to try confessing to Marinette.

Meanwhile Marinette is on her furry kick and Alya is like “look Chat noir is cool but Adrien is simping for you now.”

And Marinette is like “LET ME KISS THE KITTY”

And Marinette’s parents see how love sick the boy is and feel bad their daughter wants nothing to do with that sunshine.

Then gets harassed for being a Siri, so he leaves and conveniently catches Marinette gushing about Him (chat noir) and they are both awkward dorks that SOMEHOW get a date.

They be having a good time until a fat Ice cream man is like “not my ship.” And proceeds to EXPOSE their old love interests only for them both to deny it resulting in the happy peppy mood to be destroyed.

And of course THE F***ing wall between us song plays as they Kiss. They kiss!

And Chat noir realizing that he might be using his hero status to take advantage because he doesn’t know Marinette is ladybug. Which is a Valid reason because he isn’t a scumbag.

But Marinette has had enough of people telling her who she can and can’t love and almost gets akumatized, which chat noir stopped by kissing her!

And the end result causes Marinette to realize “oh s*** that was almost really bad”

Only to end with fighting a f***ing giant ice cream snowman shipper.

By all ML logic it’s so weird because they made so much progress in 1 EPISODE

There's this guy on YouTube that has a series of shorts called "when you actually listen to the song lyrics" and it's all jokes about how many famous/popular/iconic songs are about sex and him being shocked by it.

And like, I get the joke, but holy shit if that's not a perfect encapsulation of how sanitized and repressed media has gotten in the past decade. Because the joke here is that people liked it without knowing what they were singing but... no? No, we knew. We knew the songs were about fucking.

Being horny is a morally neutral state and if you find that offensive or questionable, you've got some deep cult deprogramming to do, my guy.

This blew my mind because I love dinosaurs and know the fossils were found sooner such as in the case of Robert Plot in 1677 (he thought it was a giant human) we didn't get the word dinosaur until 1842, Sir Richard Owen named the family of fossils "Dinosauria," meaning "terrible lizard." 

The first American fossils to be found were in 1854 by Ferdinand Vandiveer Hayde.

So okay they were close about the first American discovery, but it wasn't the first found and for the whole its too convenient and only in certain places?

Well Dinosaur fossils have been found on every continent, including Antarctica but most of the dinosaur fossils have been found high in the deserts and badlands of North America, China and Argentina.

Desert environments keep fossils from being covered by plant matter, and without trees and soil, sand and rock are all that stand between an archaeologist and a 100 million year old pile of mineralized dinosaur. A good dinosaur fossil site requires an area of sedimentary rocks.
