"Asha being a Fairy godmother is the Same as King Magnifico"
First off, how??? Have we forget how fairy godmothers work? It's really funny that people say this Cause in the movie they Actually Addressed what a fairy godmother does, it was little but still,
"Wait, does star grant wishes?" "No, But i think it whats to Help me Pursue Mines" "Like a fairy godmother!" This is in the movie, they actually addressed the Differents Between Granting a wish and Helping someone pursue their wish, but Of course people Magical Didn't Notice this, Fairy godmothers help and give you the tools you need to pursue your dreams, Like Cinderella's fairy godmother (who Asha is Based off of) who gives cinderella everything she needed to go to the Ball but it only Lasted for A certain amount of time then it was up to cinderella to get Herself out of the Abusive Household she was in, Then we also have The Blue fairy who explains to Pinocchio that he is only a living puppet and must prove himself brave, truthful, and unselfish in order to become a real boy, So you see fairy godmothers are NOTHING like magnifico and asha won't be anything like magnifico either, King Magnifico made people forget their wishes, He only grants 1 wish Once a month then thats yet, only grants wishes that Serve him, he lied to people that he Would grant their wishes when in Reality he Never will! Making people live under False Hope, he kept peoples wishes lock up so he can Stay in Power And won't let people pursue their wishes themselves, Asha disliked these Unfair rules and Factors of magnifico, She Actually sing a whole song about wanting more for the people of rosas so why on Earth Would asha Repeat the same rules she saw as Unfair and harmful to people?? And not only that but the people of rosas aren't going to depend on asha to make their wishes come true unlike with magnifico Cause they know now that they DO have the power to make their own wishes come true, that they now have the freedom to Pursue their dreams Themselves Which is why Queen Amaya Partners up people with the same Goals so people can Help Each other Achieve their dreams, People seem to think that asha rules over rosas now and thats not True! She's not in Charge of anything, she Doesn't even know how to use her wand yet! That's why they say asha is a Fairy Godmother in Training, Asha is just going to Help people Pursue their dreams Like a Fairy Godmother.

da WHOLE HOG for bambi + whichever of your newer ocs pairs best with her ;]
Hell yeah, let's do it!!
I can already tell this'll be a long one so have a page break to save yourself some dash space
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^This is Bambi! ^This is Jak L!
✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Bambi -> you actually gave Bambi her name if I remember right!! I think the logic was Wilton Rader (deer motif) + Walt (Disney) = Bambi
It was funny & fit so well that I didn't bother looking for any other names after that
Jak L. -> When I was making her originally all I knew was that I wanted a pitch black head & red eyes - the tall ears were a last minute addition that made her look like Anubis to me so....well, i just couldn't resist the pull of the pun
🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
Bambi -> It kinds depends? I jump around her timeline a lot when i draw her so here's a good rule a thumb; if her hair is in pigtails, she's meant to be no older than 10, long ponytail caps at 16, and her shorter, shoulder length cut means she's 17-19
Jak L. -> Around 18 or 19 - a little older than Bambi to up her 'cool factor' in her eyes. They meet during Bambi's first attempt to go to (Human) school
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
Bambi -> Crushing hard on Jak but trying to play it cool. She's the poster child for a rebellious teen and Bambi is mesmerized by her confidence and defiance
Jak L. -> Not too keen on relationships after getting cursed by her ex during a messy breakup (she doesn't like to talk about it) Bambi's adoration is not lost on her, but she worries the curse may intervene if she gets too close
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
Bambi -> She absolutely loooovees Lake Trout. There's an abundance of them near her childhood home, so her dads cooked it for dinner often. She used to get sick of it but on long trips it's nice to be reminded of home.
Jak L. -> It used to be a lemon butter chicken thighs, but Jak's curse won't let her eat 'anything that bleeds.' She's found Chicken of the Woods to be a decent replacement, but it's just not the same.
💼 - What do they do for a living?
Bambi -> Money isn't really used outside of Human settlements, but Bambi will run errands for her uncle Warren in exchange for magical items she can sell or use. Due to the nature of his work, the 'simple errands' have a habit of becoming day long quests instead.
Jak L. -> Works part time as a babysitter for human/monster couples. Part of this job includes helping deliver the child to the other parent's home, as neither is allowed to live in the other's community. The journey can be dangerous, but she knows the trail like the back of her hand - meaning her fare can cost as much as she likes.
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
Bambi -> Loves wrestling and will never say no if challenged. The scruffier the struggle the more fun she has ((she also enjoys a bit of whittling due to her dad's influence but will never admit that to him))
Jak L. -> Secretly enjoys climbing up trees to write poetry. She feels her poems are too soft and melancholic for the mysterious punk rebel persona she's trying to sculpt, so no one's ever read em :(
🎯 -What do they do best?
Bambi -> Despite wrestling being her favorite pastime, Bambi is best at parkour! The Jek taught her how to take advantage of her digitigrade legs to give her a better boost in agility
Jak L. -> Jak is convinced she's the best at everything she does, but her true passion lies in lyrical prose.
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Bambi -> Other than wrestling, Bambi loves to fish! She doesn't use a rod or bait, preferring to catch them with her own hands and teeth (not always a successful method, but it's endlessly fun for her)
She hates feeling caged in or restricted, something she and Wilton argue about often.
Jak L. -> Despite how she makes it seem, Jak loves teaching and watching over the children she's put in charge of. She likes giving them the time to explore, vent, and whatever else they want but rarely have the freedom to do.
She hates authority in all it's forms, holding a strong belief that anyone in a position of power will abuse it. It's just a matter of when.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Bambi -> She'd been around 12 years old, on a visit with Wilton into a human settlement so they could sell his carvings. She caught one of the older boys trying to set fire to their stand and tackled him. She walked away with a few scratches while he limped away with a broken nose. Her father was displeased sure, but that was nothing compared to the pride she felt at winning her first brawl.
Jak L. -> A month or two after meeting Bambi, she had introduced her to her uncle; a necromancer. Jak had always wanted to learn magic but had never found a teacher patient enough to show her. It took the whole day to master but the Lich Doctor taught her how to heal minor cuts and scrapes. It may have only been a simple spell but it meant the world to her.
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Bambi -> Wilton had gotten sick and stayed worryingly ill for weeks; it didn't seem like he'd get any better. Bambi offered to get the Lich Doctor to help but he was adamantly against it, resulting in a nasty argument and Bambi leaving anyway. By the time she returned, her dad had already passed. Sure, her uncle assured her that he could reincarnate him, but it didn't change the fact that her last words to him had been "I hate you"
Jak L. -> Jak had hidden herself in her favorite tree, happily writing poems no one would ever see. Her ex didn't like the thought of her keeping secrets from them, leading to a shouting match and a frenzied fight over the pages. Once read, he misinterpreted her poems as an admission to cheating; burning her work and cursing her to never be loved again. She's been looking for a way to break it ever since.
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
Bambi -> Not at all really. The only thing left over from her first design is her yellow flannel - it's her signature character color! she looks weird without it now!!
Jak L. -> Yeah, I made Jak in January so there hasn't been a lot of (if any) evolution in her design (yet)
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
Bambi -> Originally I wanted to make a non-canon fankid for Wilton & Walt / The Jek to explore what they'd be like as parents. I based her personality off a little girl I saw aggressively splashing in rain puddles and laughing evilly. the rest is history
Jak L. -> Design practice! She wasn't going to be an OC at first, just an exercise in character design but when I finished I liked the potential too much for her to just be a one off.
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
Bambi -> YA fantasy but preferably one that has more fucked up freaky little creatures ((like the spiderwick chronicles))
Jak L. -> Whatever genre Rebel Without a Cause was ((add in a fantasy or horror element so she can keep her face))
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Bambi -> Demigirl + Lesbian! ❤️🧡🤍🩷💜
Jak L. -> Transfemme + Bisexual! ❤️💜💙
🙌 - How many sibling does your OC have?
Bambi -> she tried really hard to get her dads to grow a new sibling but Wilton wouldn't have it (Bambi suspects Walt planted one anyway, but has no proof)
Jak L. -> She's unsure if she has any siblings. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't. Jak doesn't know and doesn't care to find out.
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
Bambi -> Loving but a bit strained. Her parents' over-protectiveness kept her from exploring anything beyond the river mill for years and their secrecy prevented her from learning anything about their pasts. She wishes they'd respect her autonomy and not keep so many secrets from her
Jak L. -> Cold and distant. All she knows about them is that they left her behind and disappeared. She doesn't know if they died, but she wouldn't be upset if they did. As far as she's concerned, her father is the sun and her mother the moon
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
Bambi -> all the potential pathways I could take her character! Her storyline isn't set in stone like some of my other OCs so I have a lot of fun putting her in Situations™
Jak L. -> her design for sure. She's incredibly fun to draw, especially her locs & baggy t-shirt
✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Bambi -> Getting back in the habit of drawing her again now that I've gotten over my second-hand embarrassed ab sharing my stuff. I've definitely got more notes about her than I do drawings
Jak L. -> Only very recently started fleshing her out via notes/short stories. It's been fun getting to know what her personality is going to be like
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
Bambi -> I don't think I've ever thought ab killing Bambi off, not even in an angsty one-off. She's got too much of a story to tell to cut it short like that
Jak L. -> kinda? But not really dedicated to it just yet. She's too new for me to want to get rid of so quickly.
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
Bambi -> She'll claim she doesn't, but she's absolutely Claustrophobic
Jak L. -> Not exactly Pyrophobic since she can be around campfires or a fireplace well enough, but she will refuse to interact with it in any way that doesn't involve putting it out
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Bambi -> The Big Secret her family has been hiding from her ((she hasn't really met Him yet))
Jak L. -> Jak sees every established institution as her arch nemesis
🎓 - How long have you had the OC?
Bambi -> oh man it's been a loongg while....I think since 2017 or 2018? That makes her about 7 or 8 years old....wow...
Jak L. -> Jak is about 4 months old ‼️
🍥 - What age were you when you created the OC?
Bambi -> I was probably 16 or 17 when I first sketched her up
Jak L. -> Can confidently confirm that I was 22 when Jak popped onto my canvas
Phew! You made it to the end! Thanks!

hi! I'm setting up to dm curse of strahd with some pals - we're all pretty inexperienced (most of us have played before but only a little) which is kinda nice so we can figure things out together. I was wondering if you could share advice/changes you made for the vistani and for the dusk elves? I'm here to play a gothic horror game, racism has no place in that for me. Thanks for sharing so much amazingly useful resources already!
Hello! Sorry for taking so long to reply, but I'm here now :3c I actually just answered a question about how i ran the dusk elves (spoiler alert: i didn't lol) so I'll provide some advice if you're running a game anything closer to the module than I am, and go into what I did with the Vistani.
CW for talk of fictional genocide and fantasy racism and sexism, as well as spoilers for Curse of Strahd below!~
If you're trying to de-racist the dusk elves, your options are to either not make it a racial thing or cut the violence out together. Of course, I personally think the mass femicide and the vow of chastity the male dusk elves take as a result Super Mega Weird and I did not want it. Like I wrote in my other post, I chose to just make the dusk elves drow and make them part of the cultural landscape of my multi-racial Barovian Valley. Some of the people Strahd conquered were these drow, some were not. It was a regional military conflict, not a racialized one. I did this to tie in the pre-existing military conflict of my world though. In all honesty, I think this plotline is largely unnecessary. Plotwise, it's really just a vessel to show Rahadin is evil and traitorous while giving Strahd another notch on his belt to show the same. I think it is not remotely hard to show Strahd and Rahadin being evil without making them Do A Genocide, and showing them being evil in other ways makes them much more interesting anyway. I had Rahadin be in charge of the armies that stormed Argynvostholt instead of committing genocide, and the party is no less scared of his potential to betray him. That's all I have to say about that at the moment, but feel free to send another question if there's anything specific you'd like me to talk more about.
Now onto the Vistani. So the Vistani are really, really racist. Racist to the point that WotC had to release a whole errata removing the G-slur from several pages and changing Rudolph Van Richten's Racist Tiger TM. They did not do this well, though. Especially the tiger part. Good lord.
Anyway, I felt the need to keep a "mysterious" group of people in the campaign that could function as allies or enemies to the players depending on if they decided to listen to what people in Barovia said about them. I also wanted them to be able to pass through the mist the way the Vistani do, and I wanted them to do curses. I also have a character in the party who is a changeling, and it was important to the player that his character was immediately unsettling to people. I decided to combine these and create the Hexbloods (I did this before WotC released Van Richten's guide and made their own hexbloods. Yes, I am a little salty about it.) In my homebrew world lore, hexbloods are the distant descendants of the old gods of my world, who fraternized heavily with mortals and largely fucked off to live in the woods as nomads when people started building cities and worshipping the Faerun pantheon. They have innate magic, sorcerer style, and the more intense ones harness their innate magic to become bloodhunters. Their ties to the old gods allow them to pass through the mist unharmed, as their claim to magic is older than Strahd's mist. They're ostracized by Barovians for not being subject to Strahd's fickle ruling the way that they are, and fear that between their freedom and their magic, the only explanation is that they work for Strahd.
In reality... they're just Some Guys who live in the woods. Some of them are nomadic, and some aren't. There are a lot of aging elves who live amongst them, like Kasimir, survivors of Strahd's initial conquest of the Valley. They treat everyone as family, and culturally prefer to find reason to celebrate the small things in life, believing that joy is what will keep them safe from Strahd's misery. Unfortunately, without any real allies beyond themselves, they are very vulnerable to Strahd's manipulation. This is why Strahd can take advantage of characters like Arrigal. Strahd knows that Arrigal won't be able to say no if he threatens to harm his family, but Arrigal isn't about to go out of his way to help Strahd more than he has to.
This dynamic has made for some excellent conflict. The party found themselves loyally allied with the Hexblood encampment at Lake Zarovich, but felt betrayed upon finding out Strahd had information on them that only Arrigal could have known. Now they have to consider the risk of trusting people more seriously, and it also led to some A+ roleplaying between Arrigal and the party.
Most of the de-racist-ing of the Vistani comes by looking critically and honestly at the anti-Romani tropes it leans into. What traits do you think they need to have to keep their role in the plot the same for you? What parts are you going to be unable to play without falling into harmful stereotype? Which individual Vistani NPCs are you fond of, and how can you build a fantasy community that would have raised them? That's the starting place I came from when I reworked them, but full disclosure: I am a white trans guy with an ethnic studies degree, and I super highly recommend checking out Romani people taking about this. If you search "vistani cos" on TikTok, you'll find a ton of people expounding upon it in very accessible ways.

hiiii. 9 17 18 and 22 for the writers are weird ask game!
(these answers get long so putting in a read more)
9. Do you believe in ghosts? This isn’t about writing I just wanna know
yeah sort of, at least spirits or that sort of thing, because they’re talked about in the Bible
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
time for the history of taxation in Kenhallow! okay, so when Kenhallow was a young town, they decided they wanted to figure out a good taxation system that wouldn't tax those who have barely any money at the same level as those who have a bunch of money. most of the suggestions thrown around they decided were "too complicated."
One person had the idea that since rich people have land, and the city could tax based on the amount of land people owned. And so they implemented that. But then, as the city grew, land started to differentiate in value based on location and if it already had buildings on it. So people campaigned to the city to change it based on property value, not just amount of property. The city decided that property value would be decided based on the last time it was sold, to keep it simple.
However, Kenhallow had not yet kept property records. So they started keeping property records, but any property that was last sold before that date was taxed according to the old laws. (This new law also meant that selling property below its value would get you investigated! But the Kenhallow council didn't think about people scheming to avoid taxes when they decided it would be a simple taxation system).
Then the Mage Society took over Kenhallow. The Mage Society has a rule that local governments can keep their governments and laws as long as they don't change anything (which means the Kenhallow council has almost no power, but there's still elections every year! barely anyone votes). And so Kenhallow has kept this taxation system.
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end.
I make my way to the dungeon. The guests let me through the portal, with no questions. In the prison, I ask the head guard if I can talk to the assassins.
“I need to find out how they made a portal into the palace,” I say.
“They haven’t revealed anything yet.” She leads me to a cell, then leaves.
I take a breath. “Next time someone interrogates you, tell them I was in charge. I, Rakad, Sorcerer of the King made the portal, and hired you.”
“Why?”
“Surely they’ve promised you something, if you say who was in charge. They won’t punish your family, they’ll let you live. I’ll confess.”
I say the same thing to the other assassin, then I leave the prison and go to the advisor who’s investigating.
“Rakad. Do you have any leads? I haven’t found anything.”
“I did it. It was my plan. I wanted Larath assassinated,” I say.
“Guards!” he shouts. “I’ll have to take you to the prison now. That would fit, wouldn’t it. The portal, you didn’t kill any assassins.”
The guards lead me to the prison, eventually they get a sorcerer to join. I don’t try to escape. They lock me into the most secure cell, almost impossible to melt.
Larath runs to my cell, guards behind him. “What do they mean you confessed?”
“I did. I organized the assignation attempt”
“Everyone leave!” Larath says.
“Your Highness, he tried to kill you.”
Larath waved his hand, and just us remain.
“Why would you say that? Everyone knows you wouldn’t ever kill me.” Larath says.
“Zadaf said now that I learned time magic only one of us could live. And I swore an oath to protect you.”
this passage is from life friends & friendship ends and somehow has remained canon through three totally different story versions (i only wrote a full draft for one of them, but i could tell you about each).
the idea originally came into being because I needed a way to get Larak's father, Rakad, executed but I didn't want to have him actually be a criminal. (would be interesting if I had made Larak's father actually a criminal, but that's not the story I made). And so I got him to falsely confess to an assassination attempt ( and then I needed a reason for that and so I made Zadaf)
the first drafts I wrote of this story (besides, like, the one page where I had no story idea beyond Lark having been born in Cranea (now called Rakan), but grew up in Oranth, and going down to the Oranth magic school. which that idea doesn't even happen anymore.) had this be the main point of the story, even though it happened a decade and a half ago, it impacted so many things in the story.
then I decided it would be more interesting if after Rakad said he helped the assassination, the King faked Rakad actually killing him. This switched around the whole story, and I wrote a few chapters about Kalar's family, and it seemed Kalar actually had an interesting arc going! (I don't know what I was going to do with Larak, I can't think of any actual plot lines for him in this version)
Then I decided if all the interesting things happen to the parents in the past, why not have that actually be the story. So this is supposed to be around the climax now.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
Not. I have some stuff in notebooks, but a variety of different notebooks. (There's also this one page that fell out of notebooks, but I refer to often because it has the alphabet for Rakan). There's stuff in a google drive, somewhat organized with a folder for stories and even a sub folder in that! I also have some stories just on Tumblr. Also some world building is on a world anvil, but I don't ever go to that.)
words written for this ask: 120

under request: Solona Amell
she's meant to be a Joke but I also love her so here she is (Joke because overpowered but still will allow you to explore your character's emotions as much as you'd like, and different dynamics)
"human" mage (yeah, right) / Eldritch Horror / Hero of Ferelden & Warden Commander / doesn't have a dark side any more than Barbie does / meant to be generally seen as beautiful, real life fc is Margot Robbie. This gives her privileges which is why I made a point of mentioning it. (your muse is allowed not to find her attractive, obviously).
Wanted interactions: Dragon Age characters because I cannot imagine more people wanting to given that she's all-powerful, but if you request her I'll write her with your other ones too. Solona can easily be played as follower (and a bonus one at that, who is basically more powerful than Sandal, she's not to be taken too seriously as a character, I'll write more about it soon). Open to romantic interactions with: potentially all. Demiromantic, Pansexual. Has tried a bit of everything because curious. It's unclear to her what is socially acceptable to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hair color is like in the first pic (which is her by the time of DAI), not the third which is blonder, but the third shows Margot at 22 which is closer to Solona's age (somewhere near 20)
So, what about Solona? Why is she not to be taken too seriously?
Because she has the KILL-ALL console command and mods. Normally she uses other spells because she thinks it's fun to make battles last but she is overpowered.
She's found in the Deep Roads by a group of dwarves, surrounded by dead Darkspawn and chilling. Has no memories except for the fact that her name is Solona. It seems they were trying to make her into a BroodMother and died for it. She's in her late teens and has never seen a spellbook, all her magic is purely elemental. She picks the last name Amell.
She's VERY gifted which could make her a problem, but because she's so happy to follow Circle rules, is friendly, kind, and has such a pretty face, they let her be; the general idea is that she's too 'simple' to be dangerous. When it takes less than ten minutes to go through the Harrowing they all freak out and decide to find an excuse to make her Tranquil, because that can't be right. Also maybe they should study her. She helps Jowan because he asks her to, and even if she warns Irving, if only for their own safety, they use that as the Excuse. Duncan "saves her" as much as she 'needs' to be saved (meaning she can walk away without bloodshed) so she thanks them all for the opportunity and leaves. She knows NOTHING of the world besides the few things she was taught at the Circle, she finds everyone very amusing and everything is just so great. She will learn more about humanity as the story goes by and feel more things (there is a reason if her icons come from the Barbie movie)
The rest is history, as in DAO really starts.
Notes for other players: -if you play another HoF, Hawke or Inquisitor or someone in the position of being 'scary/in charge', only ask me to use her if you are okay with the fact that she cannot feel threatened by them and if they are very dark/serious/dominant she'd just be like 'okay lol' and not take them seriously. If that bothers you because you feel it's challenging their credibility or any other reason DO NOT interact with her. If she's a follower she could either be found at the Circle during the mission to recruit the mages or have been recruited by Duncan as a Warden not long before your muse was, depending on who you play, and was found on the way to Lothering.
-If you play a Solas and you want her to be able to tell that he's more than just an elf let me know, it'd be funny if she knew and didn't say anything because nobody asked?? -if you play an Anders and want him to have safe passage after DA2 tell me and she'll take care of him. -if you want to use her to retrieve an Alistair/Hawke from the Fade, you can -if you play anyone else and you want to change some fundamental part of your muse's life tell me, she probably can do it. Found an undefeatable enemy and snap her fingers to have it die? Done. Remove a demon/spell like it's nothing? Done.
[below what happens in game / her personality and relationships]
Beginning She travels with a constant smile, she doesn't pass out at the Joining, she doesn't need time to recharge when using spells in Ostagar, just keeps burning/freezing/electrocuting at will. She has a great time! Until Duncan is betrayed. She only needs saving (via Flemeth) because she is hit over the head from behind and passes out after freezing because she felt Duncan's death. Flemeth can probably feel there is something Different about her. Same for Solona but she says nothing because nobody asks. She knows near nothing about life, the Circle doesn't encourage close relationships, so she'll ask her companions about it.
Kill-all mod and other spells. One day the rest of the team sees her not smiling after her Mabari Juliette is hurt in battle, and she immediately kills the entire group army of Darkspawn around her with one move of her hand, then go do the same to the ones who were left behind. This is how they find out that everyone she wants dead and is within thirty feet from her will die on the spot.
It takes her about five seconds to recharge after every hit of the Death spell. So the only reason she doesn't just go up to the Archdemon and kills it on the spot is that she thinks all the different races should fight together to make them remember they are meant to be friends. That and there is enough Darkspawn to tire her, plus she can't be everywhere at the same time. Her nature and other skills: Her origins are unclear but it becomes clear she must be some sort of benevolent creature that looks human, and maybe partly is. She ages and is mortal now but who knows what she was. She cannot heal people nor can morph. She can do extra spells like levitate things. She still uses normal elemental spells because they are fun, the Death Spell is boring. She can feel things that other people can (see Flemeth being More). Can go back to the Fade with some effort. She's very caring and very excited to meet everyone, finds them all very funny. She really doesn't care about killing en masse, she'll just say "they are the enemy :D", but mostly follows Alistair for moral guidance (which makes them all very lucky). Gullible, easily persuaded to do things if she's not already set on a specific choice. So Very Ready to Help.
Some game choices: Loghain dies by Alistair's hand - Anora is queen (alone). Elves and Werewolves are at peace. Bhelen wins the throne. The Circle get rescued. She tries to take care of Cullen after, doesn't hold a grudge against anyone there. Doesn't harden companions, completes all their missions. Kills the Archdemon immediately once she sees it. Either convinced Alistair to perform the ritual because worried about him or she just Could Do That. Kills the Architect.

The Phoenix and the Dragon
Tumblr media
Yet again we've arrived at Ulquihime week! Gotta confess I'm not much of a Christmas person but I do look forward to December for my OTP week. Everyone puts so much love and effort into their entries that it's hard not to be excited. Okay so today's theme is Crossover and I wanted to pick something that wasn't likely to be repeated by someone else, so leave it to my nostalgic mind to go 'What about a Winx Club crossover?' Thus here we are! This little one-shot is based on one of my fave childhood shows and one of the first villain ships I ever had. (Yes, my 10-year-old self hardcore shipped Darkar & Bloom) 😅 Hope you like it! (Spoilers for some aspects of season 2 of Winx Club. I'm taking from the 4kids version of the show and Nickelodeon special btw. And some mild spoilers for the second movie.)
Also for those who do know the winx cast and want to know who is who in the crossover here it is.
Orihime- Bloom
Ulquiorra- Darkar/Avalon
Tatsuki- Stella
Shizuka- Layla
Ichigo- Prince Sky

Ulquihime Week- Day 1 Crossover
The Phoenix and the Dragon
Orihime awoke in a dimly lit room. She didn't remember much, just going into Professor Schiffer's office and then...'And then he changed and turned into the Phoenix.'
"I can sense you. Just come out of the shadows already." She muttered.
Ulquiorra obliged, no longer looking like a human but in his true form as the Shadow Phoenix.
To her he didn't look much different, his skin was paler but his other features remained the same. He had large dark wings and a tail, along with tear markings.
"I should've known it was you. We get warmed about a Shadow Phoenix and next thing we know a new professor shows up at our school."
He chuckled. "Yes well, that didn't occur to you as we bonded, Ms. Inoue."
She lowered her head in shame. Since Ulquiorra arrived at Alfea he had become her favorite teacher, and even offered to teach her about her home kingdom, Sparx, which had been destroyed when she was just a baby.
"Is that why you brought me here? To taunt me?!"
"No, darling. I have other plans for you. Or should I say us?"
"I'll never collaborate with you!"
"You say that now, but you might change your mind after I explain my plans to you."
She frowned, but at the moment there was nothing she could do. Orihime sighed. "Fine. I suppose I can listen to you for a while."
"I appreciate it. First I must ask you something. What do you know about me, Orihime Inoue? Who do you think I am?"
"Headmistress Retsu told us you were once human. That you came to the underealm to try and find the shadow fire, but that it's power consumed you and that now you're seeking to take over the magic universe.
I also know that you came to our school and posed as a professor until now..."
"The headmistress is a wise woman, studious too since she appears to know my origins well, the one commonly excepted that is."
"What do you mean?"
"Indeed, I was once human, that I came here to study the Shadow Fire, but it's power didn't overtake me. For you see, I willingly submitted to it. I'm the one in control, always have been. And while I do wish to take over the magic dimension it is not for my own gain."
"Why else would you want to take over?"
"I want this dimension to change. I want to tear down the structures that bind its kingdoms. I've wanted that since I was a human.
You see, darling, the structures of this dimension are so very ancient and so very obsolete. The squabbles between kingdoms have led to so much war, to destruction, to sadness... Just look at what happened to Sparx."
"My kingdom was destroyed by the ancient witches. Not by war."
"You're right, but your kingdom had a close ally. An ally that should've saved you from the witches, yet instead bargained to have them take your kingdom and spare them. The king of Eraklyon made said bargain."
Orihime grew dizzy. 'No, no it can't be! Ichigo's father wouldn't do that! This is a lie!"
"You think I'm lying, don't you?"
"Of course you're lying! King Isshin wouldn't do that, neither would Ichigo!"
"Analyze the situation, darling. Eraklyon was your closest ally, and yet they didn't suffer any damage as Sparx was destroyed. Your parents vanished, your brother died saving you, your planet is now an icy wasteland. Yet Eraklyon stands as the richest land in Magix. As for your little prince, he was merely a child when this took place, but I don't doubt he'd keep it a secret from you, he has done so before."
Orihime felt as if her skin was catching fire. She hated to be reminded of that lie, to think back when Ichigo had hidden his royal lineage and engagement to a princess. She'd forgiven him, of course, and they were a couple once again, but deep inside she still distrusted him. And a part of her did think Ulquorra's words were true.
'Maybe that's why his father disapproved of us. Not because I'm a princess of a destroyed kingdom, but because my kingdom's destruction was partly his fault...'
"You see, darling. That's only one example of plenty I can give you. All of these realms need someone truly wise to rule them."
"Even if I believed you, that doesn't mean I'll join you. I don't want to kill anyone."
"Who said anything about killing? There are plenty of ways to dethrone a ruler. That's what I crave to do darling. Imagine it, a dimension without destroyed kingdoms, without arranged marriages, without squabbles for the throne. We'd be the only rulers, the royals would be our regents, they'd have to abide by what we demand."
Ulquiorra's eyes glowed green as he spoke. She had seen him like that before in his humanoid form. His eyes always sparkled as he thought her class about History and asked them to be part of the change.
"Ulquiorra, I think it's wonderful that you're trying to make the universe better, but I fail to see why would want me to join you. I'm no leader."
Orihime felt Ulquiorra's cold hand gently lift her chin. "Orihime, you're the only person I've ever met worthy of wearing such a crown.
The reason I posed as a teacher at Alfea wasn't to further my plans, or to steal the codex but to observe you. In just a few months you made such great progress that I couldn't help but be convinced you were worthy of sharing my crown, of carrying the dragon flame, of ruling over Magix.
You came from Earth yet quickly adapted to this dimension, to its power and its costumes. You're kind, fierce, strong, I couldn't ask for a better queen."
He noticed Orihime's pale skin turn bright red, and her sliver eyes grow misty. "No one's ever really praised me like that. Thank you."
He smirked. "I'll be sure to do so more often in the future then."
With a snap of Ulquiorra's fingers, her bounds disappeared. Orihime stood up, directly facing Ulquiorra.
He took her hands in his and directly stared into her eyes, silver meeting emerald. "Orihime Inoue, will you join me in my quest to bring peace and order to the magic dimension?"
It wasn't easy, she didn't want to leave her friends, her school, or even Ichigo. Even after what she learned it felt wrong to vanish without a word.
'But it must be done. Tatsuki-chan will be free to choose who she marries, Nemu-san won't be forced to follow the path her father wants for her, Shizuka-chan won't have to take the throne of the harmonic nebula...even Ichigo would now be free to make his own choices. This would be for the best.'
With a beautiful smile and newfound determination, Orihime finally responded. "Yes, I will."
"Then it is done, our power is now bound."
She could feel a surge of dark magic taking over, but it wasn't unpleasant. Her characteristic blue fae dress was now black and her fairy wings had turned grey. Orihime also noticed Ulquiorra's form slightly changed, his dark wings now had accents of green and he resembled his humanoid form a little more.
"It's the bond." He told her after noticing her confusion. "Light cannot exist without dark and vice versa. As such my darkness had to take some of your light and your light had to take some of my darkness."
Shadow Fire & Dragon Fire were united at last. Orihime was certain that now she and Ulquiorra would be unstoppable. 'We'll fix everything soon.'
"What shall we do now?"
"Since I've acquired all the pieces of the codex, I was thinking we could go to the Relix dimension. Your parents might've vanished there after the destruction of Sparx."
"My parents...I never thought it'd be possible to reach them."
"It is, my darling. We'll bring them back and then return Sparx to its former glory. After that, we can finally reshape the magic dimension into what it should've been from the beginning."
For the first in a long while, Orihime felt like she was doing things right. It would take her friends some time to forgive her, but she knew in time she would join them again. 'I'm doing this for all of us. For me, and for him.'
She gently kissed Ulquiorra's cheek, he blushed at the gesture. "I was not expecting that."
"I'm still a little miffed at you for pretending to be a professor but if we're to be in harmony as rulers this is a good place to start."
"Then I guess I should do my part too."
Ulquiorra wrapped his arm around her waist and gave her a passionate kiss. Orihime quickly blushed and playfully shoved him as he let go of her.
"Show off."
"Guilty as charged."
"Y'know, I remember seeing paintings back on earth with dragons and phoenixes together as a couple. Do you think that was a prediction?"
"It could be, after all, the most enduring romances are likely to echo through many universes."

Chapter I | Chapter II | Chapter III
GENRES: royal au; fantasy au; magic au; friends-to-enemies-to-lovers; king!beomgyu, vizier!taehyun
PAIRING: taegyu
WARNINGS: none (haha no swearing in this one)
WORD COUNT: 2.9k+
Tumblr media
AN: All I can say is: Beomgyu was hanging off the top of the door. That's why. (You'll understand once you read I promise) Also, I have no idea how alliances are formed so this is a completely made-up and not-factual process.
SUMMARY: Best friends turned enemies, Kang Taehyun has managed to trick Choi Beomgyu into his service, and to rule for three years and four months and nineteen days, until his youngest brother would be old enough to take the throne. Choi Beomgyu has no intention of being obedient however, and tries to thwart Taehyun’s orders at every turn. With a growing amount of distrust and lies within the court, will Taehyun manage to keep the kingdom of Gojongja from falling apart?
Tumblr media
Taehyun did not go air out the Discussion and Tactics room. Not out of spite, but because he had one of the palace's servants do it instead. He did however, inform the court that Coronation Revels were over, and all people not native to the Gojongja court would have to make their farewells by the end of the week. When asked where the King was, Taehyun smoothly evaded giving direct answers, choosing to reply that what the King was doing was none of their concern. A few days after the final revel, only a few foreign representatives remained.
Beomgyu stayed in his chambers the whole of the three days, even ordering meals within his room. This irritated Taehyun, since it left him in charge, yet again, of the matters that normally the monarch would handle. And while he had contemplated barging into Beomgyu's room and forcing him to do his work, Taehyun also knew that the elder would say that it was technically Taehyun's job, since he controlled Beomgyu. And Taehyun really didn't want to have his patience tested by Beomgyu that particular day, so he just gritted his teeth and carried on.
.・゜-: ✧ :-
Taehyun tapped his fingers against the wooden table impatiently. He looked around the room again, eyeing the old bookshelf and the ancient chest of drawers for the umpteeth time. Yeonjun wasn't late or anything, he was just annoyed that this stupid discussion would be taking up his time.
Just at that moment, a knock sounded on the door.
"Lord Choi Yeonjun of Aruyeo Kingdom," the guardsman announced, opening the door for Yeonjun. Taehyun briefly considered standing up, but dismissed the thought. A vizier was of higher position than any lord, after all.
Yeonjun stepped into the room and looked slightly surprised at seeing only Taehyun sitting there, drumming his fingers against the wood. He quickly gathered himself and gave the vizier a sharp bow.
"Grand Vizier Taehyun."
"Lord Yeonjun," Taehyun acknowledged. "Please, have a seat."
Yeonjun sat down in the only other chair set at the table- the one opposite Taehyun. The vizier leaned forwards, clasping his hands together on the bare tabletop. Yeonjun looked around, clearly wondering where Beomgyu was but reluctant to voice his question.
"His Greatness is occupied with other matters," Taehyun said calmly. "He has asked me to carry on with our scheduled meeting, regardless of whether he is present or not."
"Ah… okay." Yeonjun shifted in his seat, still refusing to meet Taehyun's piercing gaze. Inwardly, the vizier smirked. He loved doing this: intimidating people, analysing them, seeing what ulterior motives they may have. Finally though, he decided that Yeonjun was far too nervous at that moment to have any interesting motives, so he relaxed and sat back.
"So, what do you have in mind for the alliance?"
Yeonjun cleared his throat, then placed his own hands palms down on the table. "Her Royal Supremeness has suggested as a start that Aruyeonan nobles, like me, can come to Gojongja court."
Taehyun frowned.
"Gojongja nobles are already living in Aruyeo," Yeonjun explained. "So, it seems only fair that if we are to have an alliance, we should have an exchanging of our nobles."
Taehyun straightened his collar. "It is an intriguing idea, Lord Choi, but we have to think about our court's security. As the Kingdom with the overall monarch, we have to place more safety measures within our court than any of the Four Kingdoms. Letting foreign nobles stay in Gojongja for an extended period of time is a risk."
Yeonjun nodded readily. "I understand. That is why our Queen had me come as ambassador. I, if I do say so myself, am an extremely trustworthy Lord. I will be the most trustworthy Aruyeonan noble that has ever set foot within your court. Once I have earned your trust and respect then, and only then, is when we will let additional Aruyeonan nobles in."
Taehyun held up a hand. "Hold. You mean to say that you will be staying in our court? Until you earn our respect? And then you will let other nobles into our court?"
Yeonjun nodded once. "That is correct, sire."
Taehyun frowned. "I do not like those terms. Forgive me, but I, frankly, do not trust you at all. It will take a great deal of time for me to."
"I understand, sire. Which is why I am to stay in court until you can."
"You do know I could turn you out of court with the flick of my wrist, don't you? I could turn you out and prevent you from ever coming back."
"You and I both know you would not do that, since Queen Erajin would not take kindly to you banishing one of her lords from your court."
Taehyun grudgingly admitted Yeonjun was right. Exiling Yeonjun, no matter how tempting the offer seemed right then, was not a remotely diplomatic move at all.
"Also, this will be a benefit that Aruyeo will have. If Gojongja will reap no rewards from this alliance, then there is no point in having it."
Yeonjun smiled. "Oh, Gojongja's benefits are far greater than Aruyeo's. You will have access to our Royal Army, our Navy and our Air Forces. In return, we ask for your knowledge on clans and abilities."
Taehyun paused. It was a very simple request. One in which Gojongja seemed to gain the most beneficial reward. "Well. That is surely something. At the revel however, you mentioned something about sharing resources. Could you clearly state what that means?"
Yeonjun leaned forward, using his hands to emphasise his points. He looked comfortable now. Perhaps diplomatic discussions were in his blood as much as they were in Taehyun's.
"Sharing resources means everything it sounds like it means. We share resources such as land- for example, our mines in exchange for your forests- information sources - like historical sources- and, if times become truly difficult, we can even share ships, and armies, and citizens."
Taehyun listened carefully as Yeonjun continued to explain. This Lord was compelling, that was for certain. When he spoke, one couldn't help but want to agree to everything he said.
"Hmm. 'Sharing' is a concept I do not believe Gojongja has experienced in a while, so it will take some time to adjust, I can assure you. If you don't mind me asking, why do you need our knowledge on clans and abilities?"
Yeonjun's face hardened. "That is a confidential matter, and knowledge of it is confined to only the most trustworthy people within the Aruyeo court." Taehyun raised an eyebrow, knowing exactly what Yeonjun was implying.
"It'll take a lot more than that to get me to trust you," Taehyun said.
"Believe me, I know," Yeonjun replied. "And I am determined to do so."
The two of them talked business for several more hours. By the end of it, the outcome was clear- Gojongja would be accepting all of Aruyeo's terms regarding the alliance. Taehyun had studied and rolled over the words of the agreement over and over in his mind, had taken them apart, dissected their potential meanings and analysed them to the bone. However, Yeonjun seemed to anticipate each and every one of Taehyun's scepticisms, and countered them with more agreements and rules.
Finally, Taehyun concluded that an alliance with Aruyeo would not be harmful for Gojongja, and that was that. All that was left was for the King to put his signature on the paper, and the alliance could fully begin.
Taehyun stood up, and so did Yeonjun.
"Well," Taehyun said. "It was nice talking alliances with you, Lord Choi."
"Likewise, Grand Vizier Kang." Yeonjun's lips twitched as they shook hands. "I'll see you around, then?"
Taehyun let Yeonjun leave first. Before he exited the room, Taehyun took one last sweeping glance around it. He noticed a tiny glass ball which caught the light streaming through the small window. Walking over, he picked it up off of the chest of drawers. Rolling it between his fingers, Taehyun carefully analysed the ball. It was no bigger than an average marble, and inside there was a strange metal powder which seemed to move as if they were the waves of the ocean. Taehyun frowned, pocketing the strange marble, before striding out of the room, closing the door with a soft click.
.・゜-: ✧ :-
Taehyun had stayed talking to Lord Yeonjun for much longer than he'd have liked. The Aruyeonan was extremely thorough in his explanations, and Taehyun was never one to let tiny details slide without careful analysis. While this was one of the things which made him the best diplomat among the Gojongja court, it also tired him immensely if he focused too much for a prolonged period of time.
After more than five hours sitting cramped in the Discussion and Tactics Room, Taehyun was mentally exhausted, hungry and cranky. So when he stalked up to Beomgyu's door and the guard turned him away, he may have forcefully slammed the butt of his dagger against the wood in frustration, causing the whole thing to fall off.
Beomgyu, who had previously been standing on his head, startled and toppled over in surprise. Taehyun also looked a little shocked as he stared at the fallen door.
"... Whoops?" he said.
"Why'd you go and break my door?" Beomgyu demanded, annoyed. Taehyun was about to reply with some snarky comment, before realising that, since the door was down, there was nothing separating them from the eavesdropping ears of the rest of the court, and so he just bowed respectfully and apologised.
"My sincerest apologies, Your Greatness," Taehyun said. "I must have underestimated my strength. I will have the door fixed as soon as possible. If you please, my King, would you mind joining me in the Meeting Hall? There are some matters it may benefit you to know of."
Beomgyu raised an eyebrow at Taehyun's extravagant display of formalities, but made no comment on it. "I accept your apology," he replied in a similar exaggeratedly formal way. "And I will see you in the Meeting Hall as soon as I change into a more suitable outfit and have the splintered remains of my door removed."
Taehyun bowed again, and strode off down the hallway.
.・゜-: ✧ :-
"Good, you're here," Taehyun said when Beomgyu finally sauntered in to the Meeting Hall. "Lord Yeonjun let me keep the agreement to look over it. Read over it and see if it’s all good," he said, tossing the scroll to Beomgyu. He caught it out of the air, before sitting down in the chair at the head of the long table. The King undid the black ribbon, unfurling the parchment. He scanned over the contents of the letter, before carelessly tossing it back down onto the table.
"Yeah, sounds good to me," he dismissed. "Why'd you bring it?"
"You need to sign it," Taehyun patiently explained. If he was completely honest, he felt a little guilty for breaking down Beomgyu's door. For him personally, his chambers were his haven, his private space. He could only imagine the anger he'd feel if the person he hated rudely barged in, splintering his door to pieces. Taehyun wouldn't be happy at all.
Beomgyu picked up on Taehyun's unusually placid tone, and took the agreement into his hands again, reading over it fully.
" 'Grant Aruyeo access to Gojongja's knowledge on clans and abilities'?" he read, scoffing. "What are they going to do with that sort of information?"
Taehyun shrugged, kicking his feet up onto the redwood table. He was tired, mentally and physically, so at that moment he didn't really care for propriety. "Lord Yeonjun said it was a confidential matter between only the most trustworthy people of Aruyeonan court."
"I suppose our record of clans is the largest and oldest out of all the Four Kingdoms," Beomgyu mused. "It is one of our advantages as well. Shame we'll have to share it with Aruyeo." He set the paper down again, smoothing it out. "Well, it sounds all good to me. Though there are parts which I really don't like, there are parts which I really like as well. And looks to me like there are parts which Aruyeo won't be happy about," he said, chuckling a little. "Gaining a portion of the metal mines for a section of our forest? Seems like ultimately we'll benefit from this alliance." He snapped his fingers at Taehyun. "Get me that quill, would you?"
Taehyun rolled his eyes, but took his feet off of the table and walked over to Beomgyu to push the quill and ink pot closer to the elder.
He watched as the elder dipped the quill into the ink.
"Beomgyu… I really am sorry for breaking down your door. I don't know how I did it, and didn't mean to do it at all."
Beomgyu raised his eyebrows at Taehyun, quill hovering in midair. "What's this?" he said. "Are you actually apologising to me?"
Taehyun glared, and scratched his neck with the backs of his nails: a nervous habit of his.
"Okay, no need to glare at me," Beomgyu chuckled. "And it's fine. The door was broken anyway. It's not your fault it came off." At the confused noise that Taehyun made, Beomgyu put down the quill to explain. "The reason they denied you access was because I'd accidentally broken the door, and if you found out you'd be mad. I was going to have it fixed before you found out, but you managed to topple it down before I could." Beomgyu shrugged, picking up the quill again. "It's no big deal."
Taehyun stood there, dumbfounded. "So then how did you break the door?"
Beomgyu laughed slightly. "Oh, you do not wanna know. Besides, you're the one who managed to knock it over and break it into splinters. I just managed to rip it off its hinges."
Taehyun glowered at the top of the King's head, all traces of guilt gone. What could Beomgyu have even been doing to break his door?
"And there… we… go." Beomgyu signed off his signature with a flourish, putting the quill back into the ink pot. "Our alliance is now officially underway. You don't have to do anything else now, do you?"
Taehyun frowned. "I don't know. I've never formed an alliance before. There'll probably be meetings and stuff to discuss what will happen if one of us goes against the terms of the contract."
"Oh, okay," Beomgyu said casually. "You can sort that out, can't you?"
"I- I mean, I suppose I could, but as King it really should be you who-"
"Oh good. I guess I'm going to go into town. It's boring here."
"W-what?" Taehyun spluttered, staring in surprise as Beomgyu stood up. "You're the King, and you're going outside?? Without any sort of warning beforehand?"
"Well what do you suggest I do?" Beomgyu asked, annoyed.
"Go horse riding in our private woods, maybe some sparring practice, talk to the officials you've been ignoring for months? Or even just stay in your chambers?"
"Well, I seem to recall that someone splintered my door," Beomgyu replied, glaring. "And horse riding hurts my butt, I don't need extra sparring practice, and those Lords are so annoying! I'm going out."
"Fine," Taehyun sniffed, standing up himself as he straightened his uniform. "But I'm going back to bed. If you get mobbed, don't come running to me crying."
"I won't, I assure you!" Beomgyu called after Taehyun's retreating back.
.・゜-: ✧ :-
After closing the door to his chambers, Taehyun fell limply face-first onto his bed. Why was it that arguing with Beomgyu seemed to use more of his energy than any verbal warfare ever could? He groaned into the silk sheets, before turning over to glower at the ceiling. It had been two months. Two months and sixteen days since Beomgyu had been under his control. He was thankful that nothing major had happened for the first few months of Beomgyu's reign, but he knew that with the alliance, things would not stay calm for long. He didn't know how, but he had a gut feeling that this alliance would not help Gojongja at all.
Taehyun turned his head to look at his clock, eyes tiredly following the movement of the swinging pendulum beneath the actual clock face. It was only some hours past luncheon. Why was he so tired?
Suddenly, he remembered the odd marble he'd found in the Discussion and Tactics room. He fished it out of his pocket, staring at it closely. He rolled it between his fingers, carefully analysing the strange metal powder inside. The powder was a dark, lead sort of colour. It almost looked like a pile of ash, but it moved as if it were the waves of the ocean, crashing against the walls of the ball. The ball itself had lots of imperfections; veins ran along the outside in places where the glass was thicker, and looked almost as if to have stretch marks where it was thin. Taehyun gently tapped his nail against it. It sounded hollow. So the ball must be a thin outer glass then, Taehyun mused, setting it down on his bedside table. He unbuckled his boots, laying down more comfortably on the bed. He'd take the hollow marble to the Royal Antiquarian. It looked old-fashioned: maybe they'd know what it was.
Feeling assured by this decision, Taehyun lay there, staring at the ceiling, before his eyes began to feel heavy. He tried to resist, but eventually gave in to fatigue. Just a few minutes' rest, he told himself. Just a few minutes.

The Sword of the Solstice.
Chapter Fourteen: The True Purpose.
"Deku? Like 'idiot'? Do you know the significance of that, Chieftain?" The man asks Katsuki. Katsuki nods. "I do." He says, with a frown. “Who are you?” Ochaco asks. “M-mina...” She says, grabbing the bars of her cage. Ochaco smiles. “Nice to meet you, Mina.” She stands, and unhooks the lock on the cage. “Uh, is that a good idea?”  The man asks Katsuki. “I refer to one of the people I travelled with Deku, so if she says Deku sent her here, then that must mean he trusted her.” Katsuki explains, and Mina crawls out. She dusts herself off, and removes a leaf from one of her pale yellow horns. She gasps as she gets closer to Ochaco.
“You’re like me...” She whispers. Ochaco nods, sensing Dendar’s presence in Mina. She swallows. “So, you’re a slave of Dendar?” Ochaco asks, and Mina nods. “Let me formally introduce myself. I am Mina Ashido, a Poison Draconic, created by the dark elves of Loyaci.” Katsuki grins. “Ooh, Scales Two! Nice.” Ochaco hits him. “Don’t call her ‘Scales Two’.” She scolds him. She looks back at Mina. “How did you come across our friends?” Mina bites her lip.
“I ran away from Loyaci, they wanted to use me to poison a small kingdom...” Katsuki scoffs. “Don’t they have ways to control Draconics?” Katsuki asks, remembering that Eijiro was being controlled by a clear sphere before Shoto broke it. Mina bites her lip.
“Yes, they do. I was stuck under their control for 3 years and poisoned a kingdom of elves..." They gasp. She bites her lip. "I'll admit I'm not proud of it, but I have to own up to it. And afterwards, my 'handler' released me for a Fire Draconic. I was given to a blue haired man, he tried to do some ritual on me, but um... I burned a scar into his face with an Eldritch Blast..."
Ochaco gasps. Katsuki frowns. "Cheeks? What's wrong?" He asks, and Ochaco trembles. "This ritual you mentioned, was there a giant chalk circle? People in robes? A dark presence?" Ochaco asks, as her face pales. Mina swallows, and nods. "I don't know about a dark presence, but I was tied up in a chalk circle, and people in robes chanted in my ancient tongue."
The man that brought Mina here whimpers. "Do you need anything, or can I go?" Katsuki waves him off, and the man runs off muttering about "rituals and unnatural creatures." Katsuki looks between Mina and Ochaco. "What were they saying?" He asks, and Mina picks at her scales. "They were chanting 'the Mage of Levitation will revive Her' over and over..."
Ochaco whines. "You absolutely sure it translated to that?" She asks, and Mina nods. Katsuki grabs Ochaco's arm, and steadies her. "What's wrong, Round Face? Something's off with you." He says, and Ochaco clasps a hand over her mouth.
The feeling of vomiting rising in her throat. Her knees buckle. But, I'm the Mage of Levitation! "Discovered your purpose?" Hisses Dendar. Ochaco heaves, and black vomit spews out of her mouth. She looks down, to see that within the gunk was a spider.
"Did you just retch out a spider?!" Mina asks, and Katsuki in one fell swoop, stabs the spider. It hisses, as he removes his scimitar. "Huh, I see why everyone else has a sword! It's way more accurate and precise!" He says, and Ochaco groans.
"Way to go, you dunce, but I'm regurgitating spiders here." She says, throwing up again. This time two spiders shoot out. Mina clears her throat. "Hi, yes, why is she vomiting spiders, like is that normal for elves?" She asks, with a frown. Katsuki shrugs. "I've seen weirder." He says, swinging his scimitar at one of the spiders.
Dendar sighs. "Can your friend stop murdering my messengers?" She asks. Katsuki raises his sword again. "Wait!" Ochaco says, and he freezes. "Why? These are evil spiders, right?" Ochaco stands, and uses her spell Prestidigitation to clean the vomit from her face.
"It's a messenger, apparently." She reaches her hand out, and the spider crawls onto it. She groans. I hate spiders. She lifts it to her shoulder, and she hears the spider hiss something in Dark Elvish. Normally, Ochaco wouldn't understand it, but perhaps Dendar within her translated.
"The Mage of Levitation will revive Her," She repeats. "Release the shackles of her nightmarish bonds." She shudders. Oh no... "D-Dendar's power will shroud the world in darkness, the world of light will diminish..." She stops.
Katsuki bites his lip. "Diminish into what?" Mina asks, knowing that Dendar's release would spell doom for all. Ochaco swallows, as the spider leaves her shoulder. "Into an eternal pit of nightmarish despair..." The spider stares at Ochaco, and Mina feels an energy course through her body.
"Wha-what's happening?!" She says, as her arm raises up, pointing at Ochaco. Katsuki, having seen things like this happen to Ochaco before, charges at Mina. "Nope! None of that magical nonsense!" He says, as he tackles her. "You shouldn't have done that!" Mina says, although it was more raspy and snake-like.
Mina groans. "I hate it when she speaks through me." She says, and Katsuki growls. "Speaking through you or not, you're not gonna hurt Cheeks!" Mina hisses. "THE MAGE OF LEVITATION WILL REVIVE ME!" Dendar screams through Mina. Katsuki lifts his scimitar. "Over my dead body." He says, and Ochaco bites her lip. That is something Dendar could easily arrange. Please don't encourage her. The spider crawls towards Katsuki. "Tell him to get off of the traitorous Draconic or I'll send him into the Nightmare Realm."
Ochaco swallows, straightening up. "Katsuki?" She says. "What?" He asks, not turning to look at her. Ochaco eyes the spider, which is by Katsuki's exposed leg. Ochaco grits her teeth. It's him or the world... You know what you have to do. Just save the world, Ochaco! "Round Face?" Katsuki asks, noticing her silence. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO DO THE RIGHT THING?!
"It must be such a pain being a hero." Dendar taunts, as Ochaco feels a shiver run down her spine. "You have to follow so many rules!" Ochaco groans. "Get off of her, Katsuki." Ochaco says, and he shakes his head. "What? Why? She was trying to do some magic thing!" He stands, glaring at Mina.
"I know." Ochaco says, helping Mina to her feet. Katsuki scoffs. "You know? And you're going to let her do it?" Ochaco glances at the spider again. Things would be way worse if I didn't. She thinks. "Please, we'll figure something out. Let her go." Ochaco says, trying to convince herself that they'd find another way to stop Dendar's plan.
But the laugh in the back of Ochaco's head made any of the false hope Ochaco mustered fade into dust. Katsuki frowns, climbing off Mina. He holds out the scimitar, glaring at the poison Draconic. Mina stands, and an unholy screech bounces through the forest. Birds flutter away, and out of Mina's hands black tendrils shoot out.
"Last chance," Bakugo says, lifting his sword to slash the black tendrils. Ochaco closes her eyes. "Put the scimitar down, Katsuki." Mina swallows, her arms shaking. "I, I'm sorry. You guys gave me your trust, and I—" Ochaco shakes her head. "No, I have a feeling that this meeting was planned. There's no way you escape Loyaci without help." Katsuki frowns. "Cheeks, what do you mean?" Ochaco sighs. "I went through the same ritual Mina did. Only mine succeeded." She opens her eyes, as the black ooze inches closer to her. "I don't know the specifics, but I think the Cult of Dendar did something to me, and now I'm a special warlock. I'm the Mage of Levitation. Or so Dendar believes." Katsuki marches up to Ochaco, and grabs her shoulders.
"So let me get this straight, you're the one they believe will revive that evil demon, and your plan is to let her do it?" Ochaco's lip trembles. "Yes, which is why I need you to promise that you'll find a way to save me." Katsuki growls. "No, all we have to do is stop her!" He says, turning to face Mina, pushing Ochaco behind him. "Katsuki," Ochaco says. "She'll get what she wants, if not here, then later. Please, promise me." Katsuki groans. "You're making a very reckless move here." Ochaco shrugs. "I have a feeling you'd do the same in my place." Katsuki smirks.
"I'll get you out, you lunatic." He says, backing up. Ochaco nods. "You promise?" He sighs. "Yeah, I promise, but try to delay her at least?" He asks, and Ochaco chuckles. "I'll do my best." She runs towards the black slime. "I don't hold this against you, Mina." She says, as the muck surrounds her legs. "And Katsuki, don't you dare hold it against her either. Try to work with her, okay?" Katsuki gives her a thumbs up. Ochaco takes a deep breath, as it covers her face.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Eijiro, Izuku, Momo, and Shoto stand in what Shoto can only assume is a courtyard just beyond the gate of Loyaci. Since a purple mist obscures the area, that was the best estimate he could come to. "Who's there?" Izuku asks, holding his sword up, and a dry chuckle comes through the mist, as a silhouette of a humanoid walks through the smoke. "How rude of you, Mage of Luminescence, Izuku Midoriya." Eijiro frowns. "How do you know his name?" He asks, with a shiver. The figure steps closer. "All of this was foretold by the Mage of Darkness known simply as 'All For One' all those years ago, the Luminescence Mage, the Fire Draconic, and the Prince with his Royal Guardswoman."
Momo frowns. "Who are you, you vile beast? Reveal yourself!" He laughs. "I am the High Bishop of the Cult of Dendar, Tomura Shigaraki." Out of the mist steps a thin beast of a man. He has two horns protruding from his forehead, blue unkempt hair, large pointed teeth, a tail that wraps around his leg, but the detail that grabbed Izuku first was the handprint on his face. "You're the guy Ochaco saw in that tavern!" He says, holding his sword up threateningly. Tomura scoffs. "Oh, that actually was one of my minions, using transformation magic. I sent him to check on your progress on that ." He points to the Solstice Sword.
"What could you possibly want with that Sword?" Shoto asks, and Tomura sighs. "Did nobody tell you that the only way to bring Dendar back is to break the Seal?" Momo, Shoto and Izuku gasp. Eijiro scratches his chin. "What seal?" He asks, and Momo pulls out her sword, stepping in front of Izuku. "The seal on the Tomb of the warlock All For One. The first Luminescence Mage sealed him there to stop him from ravaging Theskyx." Tomura nods. "And we wish to undo that seal." Shoto grabs Tomura, holding his sword to his throat.
"Not as long as I still breathe." He says, and Tomura touches the blade of the sword, and it dissolves into small shards. "As long as you still breathe, huh? Well, I can arrange that." He grabs his throat. Izuku shoves past Momo, and charges Tomura. "Ah-ah-ah." Tomura scolds, waving his finger back and forth. "Try that and the Prince gets the same treatment as his sword. And that goes for all of you." He adds, looking at Momo and Eijiro. Momo sheathes her sword. "Lady Momo!" Shoto says, with a wheeze. "Take him down, don't worry about me!"
Momo bows her head. "Reneumel needs a ruler, I cannot lose you." Shoto grabs Tomura's hand, trying to break free. "Lady Momo, there won't be a Reneumel if you don't take him out now!" Tomura giggles, looking over at Momo. "And this was foreseen by the great All For One! For he said that 'the Royal Guardswoman will have to make a decision that will shape all living life on Theskyx.'" Momo looks at Shoto, and sighs. "I'm sorry, my lord." She removes the sheathed sword from her belt.
"Lady Momo..." Izuku says, as she gets down on one knee. "I shall relieve myself from the Reneumel Royal Guard, and I'll gladly receive whatever punishment that will be bestowed upon me, for I made a vow to myself that I would not let any harm befall you." Tomura gives a wry smile. "Awful touching, wouldn't you say, Prince Shoto?"  Shoto gives him a death glare. Tomura grins at that. "Oh, my! What a vicious and dare I say positively evil expression!" Eijiro swallows, and Shoto digs his nails into Tomura's arm, and tries to pull himself off.
"Oh, struggle all you want, because even if you do get free, the lady knight won't live for long after that." Shoto's arm falls to his side. Tomura chuckles. "Good, glad we've come to an understanding. Now, I'll be taking the Solstice Sword." Eijiro scoffs. "Yeah, that's not going to happen, right, Izuku?" Izuku looks at the Sword, trying to hear its voice, but to no avail. "Izuku?" Eijiro says, as he starts to guy at a loose scale. Izuku groans. "I guess I have no choice." He removes the scabbard from his belt, and holds it out to Tomura.
He snatches it from him, using four fingers to hold it. "I can't believe it. After all these years, I'm the one that acquired it!" A frigid wind clears the smoke surrounding them. "The Mage of Levitation has been found." Says a whisper on the wind. Tomura jumps and down like a small child. "Oh, it must be a good day for Dark Lady! I have gotten my hands on the Sword Dark Empress!" He says, to nothing in particular. "Good, I shall transport you here." The wind says, and Tomura disappears in a cloud of purple mist and black muck.

About Duke Cadash, part 2
okay so I know that this is supposed to be like an ask thing from here! butI only have like 3 followers on here, I just finished my second playthrough of Inquisition and I really really wanna talk about my Inquisitor :’)) so we’re doing this
what is your inquisitor’s name & race? - Duke Cadash, surface dwarf
what is their sexual orientation? - bisexual <3
what do they look like? (add screenshots, drawings, descriptions!) - he's a freckly ginger and has bright blue eyes, a very well groomed beard (he at least tries to redo the braids every morning), undercut on on the left side of his head but otherwise longish hair, scarring underneath his right eye and between his brows; he's like muscular and thick at the same time, I don't know a good word for it? but yea :) he's prettyy
Tumblr media
how did they feel about being called “the herald of andraste”? - he uses it to his advantage. he doesn't outright deny it to people he doesn't really trust, only those closest to him know his real stance on it. he just takes being called the Herald in stride, doesn't hate it but isn't the biggest fan either
what are their religious beliefs, if they have any? - believes in the Stone because his parents had been cast out from Orzammar and they passed on their beliefs to him as well. he's not super into it though, more like a casual believer.
what is their opinion on the mage/templar war? - supports the mages and even though he can get along with templars if necessary, he often calls them out for their prejudices and bullshit. he believes that the war was inevitable and kind of necessary as well because in his eyes big change usually comes by, sadly, using harsher tactics.
who is your inquisitor’s best friend? - he was suuper close with Blackwall in the beginning because their humor was pretty similar, he was one of the first people he recruited on his own, and they're both pretty close in terms of age as well. however, as Duke grew closer to Dorian, they became best friends instead (and then eventually lovers). I'd say his real best friend is either Cassandra or Solas? because even though he disagrees with both of them quite a lot, they still somehow manage to get on pretty well <33 and they both have been there from the very beginning of this entire journey!! so it makes sense :) also, Duke is suuuuuper loyal, so when he found out about Blackwall :)) he fucking flipped and completely shunned him and never again took him into his party.
who is their rival? - uhhh among the companions? I don't think he really has one...
who is their love interest, if they chose one? do you ship them with anyone else/non-romanceable options? - DORIAN!! <333
Tumblr media
warrior, rogue, or mage? - rogue, archer
how do they feel about the dalish? - he feels for them and wants to support them and work together as much as possible. he can see that a lot of them seem arrogant and standoffish on the outside, but he gets why that is, so he just lets them be and tries to work with it.
how do they feel about the qun? - he does not like the qun, to him it seems like a cult. he can also see many similarities between it and the chantry so.
how do they feel about the chantry? - he doesn't like the chantry BUT he does not shun them out loud because he knows that having them support him makes him look good to those who believe in Andraste and such, but also he doesn't wanna take away hope from those who find it in him during such a difficult time (even though he doesn't believe he's chosen in any way)
which demon is most frightening to them? - definitely the nightmare. Duke doesn’t get rattled very easily but that whole thing managed to get underneath his skin. plus! he’s incredibly scared of spiders and the nightmare created to many of them to freak him out, so the entire fade thingy was very hard on my poor Master Cadash :((
did they choose the qun or the chargers in iron bull’s personal quest? why? - the chargers. he didn’t trust the whole thing from the beginning and basically went along with it because he wanted to support the Iron Bull and because he could feel that something fishy was going on. also, even before the whole thing Duke got along with Krem really well, because he has this habit of taking younger people under his wing (exhibit A: Cole) so that’s also what kinda happened with Krem. ALSO! another thing is that Duke id very much against sacrificing lives in order to get something, so even if he hadn’t cared about any of the chargers personally, it would’ve just went against everything he stood for.
when are they the happiest? - when he's exploring the wilderness with his party, probably picking elfroot or iron lol
how do they feel about the mark/the anchor? - it doesn’t really cause him very much pain so he sees it mostly as something  that’s just there and helps him deal with this whole mess.
upon first meeting cole, were they afraid of him? - not really? he could tell that he was different but Thedas is full of so much surreal and nonsensical shit that this kid who acts a bit outside of the established rules of the society didn't really faze him. when he first met Cole during the attack on Haven, his first reaction was that “why is this young kid out here??? get him to safety!!!!” but yknow in a way where he could still see that Cole was perfectly capable of pulling his own weight, Duke just worries.
Tumblr media
did they use the templars or the mages to close the breach? - mages
what was their court approval like at the winter palace? did they have any fun at all? - the only things that Duke liked during the whole charade was seeing Josephine and Leliana enjoying the whole thing AND getting to dance with Dorian. he got 100 court approval but he hated that everybody kept shitting on him for being a dwarf etc. also dealing with Gaspard, Celene, and Breala was frecking frustrating.
someone is encroaching on their love interest. how do they respond? - idk how to answer this. he knows that Dorian can handle himself but if the situation requires his help then he will get supper angry and protective
what is their favourite weapon? - Duke’s Bayard!! :D this really great bow that he got made
are there any creatures in the wild that they refuse to/are reluctant to kill? why? - nugs because to him they look like a rabbit and an old wrinkly man merged into one. so yea, no. he also doesn’t like killing dragons. the only proper dragon he and his party ever killed was the big one in the hinterlands but Duke didn't feel right about it afterwards so he never went after another again
what is their opinion on blood magic? would they ever use it, if given the chance? - to him blood magic is just a type of magic really but I don't think he'd use it if he were able to
what is their favourite place within playable regions? - interestingly, the hinterlands. it's because he grew up in fereldan is used to that kind of nature
did they feel suspicious of dorian upon first meeting him, because of his tevinter heritage? - a bit, yes, but it quickly faded
as a whole, how do they feel about tevinter + the imperium? - he hates the whole slavery business that they've got going on over there but Dorian manages to convince him that the imperium could be changed so he has hope for it. he doesn't blindly hate every vint he meets.
did they encourage cullen to continue taking lyrium, or to stop? for what reasons? - to stop because even though he’s not very close to Cullen and he has his issues with him, he didn't want him to be dependent of lyrium in order to work to the best of his abilities. because Cullen is in charge of such a huge part of the Inquisition, he needs him to be dependable
does it bother them to sleep in tents when on the road with the inquisition? - nope! Duke loves tracking and yknow finding and looking for stuff out in the wilds so he’s used to that sort of thing since he grew up in a naturey place. he had to spend a lot of nights in similar situations while he was part of the Carta too
are they an optimist, a pessimist, or neutral? - i guess something between an optimist and a neutral? I guess you could call him an optimistic realist. he rarely veers towards pessimism
if varric wrote a book about your inquisitor, how would they feel about that? - he would actively encourage it because it would be fucking hilarious to read
do they get along with vivienne? - nope, he doesn’t even recruit her.
are they afraid of anything specifically? - spiders
what was their reaction to the destruction of haven?
how do they feel about “the game”? - a bunch of nugcrap
are they especially protective of certain inquisition members, even those capable of defending themselves? - even though he knows that all three of them can take care of themselves and he trusts them to do so, he still worries about them the most. Cole, Krem , and scout Harding.
do they like their skyhold pajamas? - he hates the pajamas. but the outfits that he usually wears look superrr fly so he doesn’t mind those one bit
are there any insults they find to be especially offensive? (i.e. “knife ear”/”rabbit” for elves, “oxmen” for qunari, ect.) - I am not sure what insults a dwarf would get in terms of specific words. the fact that people keep making comments about the Inquisitor surprisingly being a dwarf does annoy him though
if varric gave them a nickname, what would it be? - either cherry because of his red hair OR the Archduke :P
do they enjoy being the inquisitor? - yes!! at the beginning, he's more wary of it, which of course makes sense, but even then he's just ready to take on the role of the leader because no one else will do it and he does have the mark so it makes sense for him to do it. as time moves on he grows to really like it! he makes a great leader and he knows it.

Recap/review 15.03: “The Rupture”
THEN: Ghost/spirits/whatever, blah blah blah. The only thing of note here is that they choose to remind us that Sam is fated to kill Rowena. But I'm sure that doesn't mean anything. There are tons of reasons to include this. Tons.
NOW: We're still in Whatever-this-place-is-called, Kansas. Ghosts/spirits/whatever are still flinging themselves against the barrier. Sam's still in charge of the hunter troops. Expanded Team Free Will is back in the graveyard and they've got a plan that Rowena insists will work. It's a powerful spell that will "patch those holes up" in time for tea. (Rowena is back in a dramatic gown today, but I don't like the casual jacket she's wearing with it.) All she needs is a ghost-free space, which happens to be the mausoleum the gang found in 15.01. No one's thrilled about that. We also see the opening to Hell itself, which is a giant hole in the ground. It doesn't seem to give anyone PTSD, though.
The gang salts the perimeter of the mausoleum while Rowena mixes up her spell, and right away something evil starts banging on the doors. She recites something not-English, her eyes glow purple, and we see the battered barrier glowing purple as well. But then she looks disturbed and the purple glow fades and she gets more and more upset and then collapses. "We're all going to die!" she says.
Title card!
Rowena asks for a drink and then has to clarify that she means "a real drink," and we have a cute wordless conversation where Sam requests Dean's flask, Dean says what, MY flask, Sam says yes, asshole, and Dean says sigh, okay. It's precious.
It is, unfortunately, impossible to screencap, but I'm sure someone will GIF it. In the meanwhile, let's enjoy concerned Winchesters.
Rowena says the spell can't work because the spirits are too wild, too desperate, too angry, and too numerous. No magic on earth can stop "those walls" from falling. Within hours. (Did we really explain the walls? I guess it's the walls between earth and Hell? And why plural?) Dean decides they're going to keep fighting as long as they can. He tells Rowena to make more of those soul collectors, but she says it's pointless. Probably because Sam's wearing the orange jacket, so she doesn't see any reason to prolong the agony. She says she may have been able to shore up the wall if she'd gotten there sooner, but now the wall is too damaged for her to save.
Belphagar leaves, ignoring Dean's "where the Hell are you going!" and Cas goes after him. Dean continues yelling that they're not going to give up, that's not who they are, and Sam silences him with a single hand motion because he knows how I feel about him being Chiefly. Sam crouches next to Rowena and puts a concerned hand on her shoulder and asks if she needs anything because he knows I also love him being soft and concerned.
Tumblr media
Who DOESN'T know?
Hey, if you don't want to read some serious Sam fangirling, you're in the wrong place. You should realize this by now.
Belphagar and Cas are out in the cemetery, where no one is bothering them even though something was knocking pretty vigorously on the mausoleum door. Belphagar wanted to look at the giant hole into Hell. "Where it all began."
Meanwhile, Dean's loading up. He's not just going to wait for the world to end, he's going out fighting.
Tumblr media
He's angry and backlit, and I love both of those things.
Sam sits next to him and they have a lovely dark conversation where Sam says he's out of ideas but acts like he thinks there still must be something they can do, and Dean says Chuck's "sloppy-ass ghostpocalypse" isn't going to be the last word and acts like he thinks there's nothing they can do but die fighting. And Rowena just sits sad and quiet and alone, paging through the Book of the Damned. I do like that she kept it and uses it in front of the Winchesters. But she says she hasn't found anything useful.
Back outside, Belphagor says the opening in the ground isn't a door or a gate, it's a tear. And he has a plan. "Lilith's Crook" is a horn that Lilith used to control her demons - it can corral all demons and bring them back home. (BTW, nobody reacts to the name Lilith either. It's like seasons three through five never happened.) It's in Lilith's chamber, which is unsealed now that every door in Hell is open. If Belphagor uses it in Hell, all the demons and spirits will be sucked into Hell, and then Rowena can close the door once they're not pushing against it.
Rowena confirms that she has "a spell of my own devising" that she could use to close the door. Well, she said earlier that there were any number of spells she could have tried earlier, so surely this is one of those spells. It's a healing spell - if the opening is a wound, not a door, this will allow it to heal and close up. Sounds reasonable.
It will require perfect timing, and she'll need some strangely easy-to-obtain ingredients (which seems to be a theme this season, doesn't it). And an assistant. "Dibs on Samuel. You're as close to a seasoned witch as we've got in this lot." (!!!)
She also needs someone to hang out at the edge of the hole and toss the figurative "bomb." And it will be dangerous, so Dean naturally decides that's his job. Belphagor drafts Cas to go with him, since he'll need help getting past all the pissed-off demons and ghosts who will be down there. "Yeah, Cas will go," Dean says coldly. "You've been to Hell before." Well, I mean, everyone in this room has been to Hell before (assuming we count Rowena's visit to Limbo as Hell), so. Cas glares at Dean, clearly thinking yes, I harrowed Hell to raise you, and I regret it every day.
Tumblr media
Cold and yet HOT.
Hospital. Ketch wakes up just in time to get killed by the demon Ardat, who astutely notes that he's protecting his friends and won't give them up. There's your redemption arc, Arthur Ketch. I hope you enjoyed it. Moving on. (Also, doesn't Ardat look like a cross between Joanna Gaines and Meghan Markle?)
Cemetery. Belphagor asks Cas how he's going to get out of Hell before Rowena seals it up, and makes sure Cas realizes that his buddies don't care that he might not make it out. Cas pushes Belphagor into the hole and jumps in after him.
Mausoleum. A hunter shows up with supplies and Sam gives her directions on what to do "if this goes sideways," even though those directions should probably be "kiss your ass goodbye." Dean gets a text from "Ketch" and responds by laying out their plan and providing their location. Uh oh.
Hell. It's actually mostly empty. Belphagor claims he made Cas come because he just wanted company, and he wants to become best buds with Cas, having wormed his way into the Winchester's hearts. "Sam and Dean are just using you," Cas says. "Don't mistake that for caring about you, because I can assure you, they don't." OH, CAS, YOU WOULD KNOW, WOULDN'T YOU. Cas reminds Belphagor that he's an abomination, and then opens the door to Lilith's chamber, which is being looted by another demon. Belphagor's friendly with the guy, but Cas kills him. Awkward.
The crook is in a box marked up with Enochian symbols, which apparently couldn't be read by any residents of Hell other than Lilith. (Well, we can assume the residents of the cage could read it, but.) Good thing Cas is here! So convenient. The markings are actually a song of praise to Lucifer. Cas reads it, but nothing happens, and Belphagor says "They're verses, Cas. I think they need to be sung." We don't have to listen to Cas sing the whole thing, but we do get Belphagor mocking his angelic voice.
The demon then tells Cas to make his escape, which kind of surprises me - I was sure this set-up wasn't meant to end with Cas surviving. Cas tentatively holds the horn out to Belphagor, but then is flung across the room by none other than Ardat. She expositions for us that Lilith's Crook would have allowed Belphagor to rule Hell. She begins to smack Belphagor down, but Cas attacks, and holds her off long enough for Belphagor to stab her with his angel blade.
Cas asks him if it's true he wants to rule Hell, and he's all, no, I want to rule EVERYTHING. He'll suck the power of all of the souls into him, and he'll become a God. "I don't think so," says Cas, and runs toward him. But Belphagor blows the horn, and the ghosts/spirits/whatevers start flowing back into Hell, and into Belphagor.
Cemetery. Dean approaches the hole and wonders where Ketch is.
Mausoleum. Sam is anxious, and wants to be outside, fighting. Rowena makes him read the book as she prepares the spell. (What is he reading? He's not reading aloud. What's the point? Is he memorizing it?) When they hear Belphagor blow the horn, Rowena announces "it's time." She and Sam hold hands (d'aw) and recite the spell. I guess he was memorizing it after all. The spell bowl begins to glow purple, as does the "bomb" I didn't even realize Dean was holding. Dean tosses it into the hole without even wondering if Cas will make it out. So I guess he's still mad at Cas, if you were wondering.
Hell. Cas finally makes his way to Belphagor and tackles him, stopping the horn. As Cas punches the demon, his sunglasses fall off, and he looks up at Cas with his burned-out eyes and pleads for him to stop. "It's me, Jack." Gotta say, Alex does a good job here of playing someone trying to sound like Jack and not quite succeeding. I was afraid Cas would fall for it, but he doesn't. In fact, this inspires him to do the glowy hand thing and burn Belphagor - and Jack's corpse - to a crisp. Too bad you didn't wait until he sucked up all the souls, Cas.
Topside. Sam calls Dean and learns that something doesn't feel right, and the crack is closing up. Meanwhile, Rowena picks up a knife and plunges it into her own shoulder. As Sam watches in horror, she reaches in and pulls out "my last resurrection sachet - won't need that where I'm going." She tells him the Lilith's Crook plan may have been his only shot, but she still has an option. Because magic can contain anything. Even Hell, as long as she's willing to pay the price.
Tumblr media
Horrified/confused Sam. Mmmmm.
She tells him "death is an infinite vessel" but he doesn't get it yet. All she needs for this spell are two ingredients. Sam's all, you have them here? Why didn't you tell us? "Because, dear, the first ingredient is my own still-coursing blood, and the last is my final breath." She'll absorb all the spirits and then throw herself Hell (!!!) and then, when her body eventually rots and the spirits are released, they'll be back in Hell. (So I guess she has to toss the wound-healing spell in there too, somehow, but that's just details.) Sam tries to stop her with the Single Upraised Finger of Reason, but not only does she ignore that finger, she tells Sam he has to be the one to kill her. Y'all, I always love the Single Upraised Finger of Reason.
Tumblr media
I would obey this finger.
Topside. Cas made it out of the Hell. Wow, I was worried there for a minute.
Mausoleum. Rowena insists Sam has to be the one to kill her, because the spell requires her "real, permanent demise," and Sam's the only one who can do that. It's in the books. "You know what?" says Sam "Screw the books." YES SAM.
Topside. Cas tells Dean he killed Belphagor and the crook was destroyed.
Mausoleum. Sam tries to take the knife from Rowena, but she holds it against her body. "I don't care about anything enough to take my own life. Not you, your brother, not even the world. But I believe in prophecy, I believe in magic, and everything we need to end this is right in our hands." I don't know, Rowena. Those books you're so insistent on believing? They've been known to change. Sam rests the knife against her but he's still fighting it, even though she's shouting "kill me, Samuel!"
Then she clamps a hand on his shoulder and says "I know we've gotten quite fond of each other, haven't we? But will you let the world die? Let your brother die? Just so I can live?" Oh, well, that was the right thing to say, wasn't it? (Also, can we just appreciate Rowena admitting she's quite fond of Sam?)
Topside: Dean yells at Cas. "This was our only shot! What the hell were you thinking?" I like that Dean doesn't even consider that Cas may have had a very good reason for killing a demon.
Mausoleum. Sam says a shaky little "no" and I think he's saying no, I'm not going to kill you but I am so wrong, because he goes in for what looks like a hug but he's actually plunging the knife into her abdomen. He holds her close as he stabs her and then pulls back to look in horror at what he's done. Rowena PUTS HER HAND ON HIS FACE AND SAYS "THAT'S MY BOY" AND SHE'S NOT DEAD YET BUT I AM. Then she pushes the blade in further, because apparently Sam didn't do it hard enough, which brings up an interesting question - what if Sam's stab wasn't fatal? Does any of this still count?
Tumblr media
SAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!
Topside. As Rowena walks to the Hell hole, all of the spirits are seen flowing into her wound. I want Sam to hug her again, without a knife (OMG IMAGINE IF SAM HAD TO ACTUALLY PUSH HER INTO THE HOLE) but instead they hang back. She turns and says "goodbye boys," just like her son did, stands at the edge, and then dramatically falls into the hole just before it closes. Sad MacLeod music! (which I rather like)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goodbye, boys.
Aftermath! Sam's sitting sadly on his bed. Dean comes in wearing a single layer, and it's a henley, and Sam's entire shirt is unbuttoned, so thank you baby Jesus for this bit of comfort we surely need after all that hurt. He asks how Sam is holding up, and Sam doesn't answer that question. He just wipes his eyes and makes a how do you think noise and asks if there's any word from Stevie, who I guess is one of the other hunters. Yeah, and the word is that the town is good, but Ketch is dead. "Bad. Probably demon."
We did it though, man. It's over. God threw one last apocalypse at us, and we beat it.
...
Yep.
What you did. Rowena. You didn't have a choice.
...
I know.
Oh, Sam! His soft sad little "yep," his reaction to Ketch, the way his little face scrunches up when Dean says Rowena's name... And Dean's trying to hard to be supportive.
Tumblr media
Oh boys.
Aftermath part 2. Dean's drinking whiskey when Cas comes in and asks how Sam is. Dean's very short with him, and asks why he didn't just follow the plan. Because sure, Belphagor was going to suck up all the power of every soul in Hell and become the worst Big Bad ever, but Dean thinks they just would have figured that out afterward. And Dean has a point, but I don't know if it's the one he thinks he has. Cas didn't know Rowena had a self-sacrificial Plan B in mind. The only information he had was that if Belphegor didn't trap all the spirits in Hell, they'd end up destroying the world. And he killed Belphegor anyway. So yeah, Dean's mad because Rowena is dead, but the issue IMHO isn't that Cas's actions forced Rowena to take extreme measures, it's that they would have destroyed the world had she not been able to do that.
The plan changed, Dean. Something went wrong. You know this. Something always goes wrong.
Yeah, why does that something always seem to be you?
You used to trust me, give me the benefit of the doubt. Now you can barely look at me. My powers are failing and I've tried to talk to you over and over and you just don't want to hear it. You don't care. I'm dead to you. You still blame me for Mary. I don't think there's anything left to say.
Where you going?
Jack's dead. Chuck's gone. You and Sam have each other. I think it's time for me to move on.
Sad Winchester music!
Oh. Wow. That was really cold, Dean. Now you're not trying to be supportive at all.
Tumblr media
But we get your angry face, which I adore.
So! There's a lot packed into this episode, isn't there? So many deaths. I was surprised that both Belphegor and Ardat bit it, since I presumed one or both of them would be Big Bads this year. Are we down to just Chuck, then? There's also whatever Billie is cooking up with dead Jack; I guess that could be badness. Ketch is gone, which I'm honestly fine with. The only bad thing about Cas walking out is that it means we're going to have a separate Cas plot again, which I'm not thrilled about. And Rowena. I mean, I love her and will miss her, but I should be gutted, and I'm not. Is it because I know we're saying goodbye to all of them soon anyway? Is it because I've decided this is going to happen? Maybe.
But that's so many deaths for one episode. Is this the endgame? Just killing every supporting character we can think of?
And let me just point out that if any of this plot feels familiar - Rowena recognizes Sam as a witch and has him do a spell, secretly comes up with a world-saving spell that requires her death, and forces Sam to fulfill his prophecy by stabbing her, no matter how hard he protests - if any of this feels the slightest bit familiar, could it be because I ALREADY WROTE IT? Maybe.
(Waves to Robert Berens, who surely reads my LJ.)
Anyway. Please help me stay unspoiled, thanks!

Home is where the heart is - Chapter 2: power's game
Summer in Arendelle was so fucking cold. Snow piled up high on the rooftops, in the streets, everywhere. Ice coated windows, bridges, crept up street lights. Not even the burning fires in the castle's hearths, kept alive by what little firewood Arendelle had possessed in summer, could keep the kingdom warm. The wind howled as it cut through the clothes of those brave enough to venture outside, stabbing through them with an sharpness made of ice. And when the frost bit, it bit hard, clamping down with teeth strong enough to rip mountains to shreds on unsuspecting Arendellians and the trapped royal visitors.
"I have a message I'd like to send."
Merida's voice rang clear through the small post office, causing the man sitting at his desk to look up. He lifted his head from his hands when he saw her enter, staring with wide eyes, shaking the sleep and misery and the biting cold out of his mind. "Your Highness," he said, using all the strength his freezing body still possessed to bow stiffly.
Inside, according to Merida, wasn't much better than outside. Wherever she went, winter ruled all. The warmth she'd felt upon entering the kingdom had left overnight, leaving nothing behind but an icy hellscape. Her own voice sounded distant in her ears, as if her eardrums had frosted over. "A letter," she said, holding it up for the postman to see. "Addressed to Fergus of Dunbroch, the Bear King. Queen Elinor wanted him to know we'll be… delayed."
"Delayed," the postman repeated with a huff, plucking absent-mindedly at his black moustache. "I'm afraid there's nothing I can do for you, Your Highness. This winter isn't doing the postal service any good, not even to speak of international service..."
"Your fjord is frozen over," she said. "No ship as it exists today could break through that, can it?"
"Not to my knowledge, Your Highness, but I can hardly call myself an expert on such matters."
"You got people up in the mountains? Delivering mail or whatnot?"
The postman shook his head, trembling fingers gripping his desk tighter to stop their shaking. Merida pulled her black cloak tighter, even though it gave her little warmth; it had gotten soaked because of the snow all over the place.
"It would be a crime to send anyone into the mountains with this weather. Safety matters more, Your Highness."
Merida nodded. She couldn't deny the truth in his words. "You're right." She placed her mother's letter to her father on the postman's desk, even though it wouldn't be sent. "Would you mind if I left this here?"
"Of course I wouldn't, Your Highness." The politeness of the Arendellians still stunned her. No one in Scotland had ever called her by an official title that often. "May you be safe out there."
"And may your business thrive when this is over," she replied before turning around, taking a deep breath and braving Arendelle's icy summer once again. It was quiet outside. Citizens cowered in their homes or travelled to the castle for food, drink, and the last significant warmth, and even the birds kept a vow of silence, as if they'd all frozen to death. When Merida looked up, at the little snow still falling, she found nothing but emptyness, and grey, mocking clouds.
Snow had fallen all night, and while the sky began to show signs of the fall slowing, there were still hundreds of soft flakes falling down, coating her cloak and inevitably getting stuck in her curls. If the artificial winter, as Merida suspected, responded to Queen Elsa's emotions, she had at least calmed down a little. It was a start. Not for the first time, the redhead wondered if Princess Anna was making any progress.
She walked along Arendelle's railroad track, which was covered in frost like the rest of the kingdom. Would a train still come out here, now that winter had claimed the place? She wouldn't have been surprised if any neighbouring kingdoms had decided to not send any train towards Arendelle. Who could blame them? Magic, strong enough to trap a kingdom in a season, was a force to be reckoned with. It was a problem, though, for a frozen fjord meant no passage of ships, which left only trains to bring supplies the kingdom could find itself in need of if the winter chose to stay, and if there weren't any trains…
Merida shivered and chose not to think about it anymore.
It was a shame there weren't any trains either way, she thought to herself as she left the railway for what it was and set out for the courtyard of Arendelle's castle. Dunbroch had no trains, and while she'd heard and seen the huge machines elsewhere in Scotland, they never failed to impress her. Trains reeked of steam, and they were intimidating to her, used as she was to travelling by horse, but she'd never been one to let fear of the unknown get in the way of exploring said unknown. This unknown in Arendelle, though… she wanted to believe it would all turn out fine, but she still couldn't help growing concerned.
Arendelle was isolated. No one got in, no one got out. And if Merida had to pick a time and a place to die, she'd have chosen 'in a bed, about seventy years from now', not 'acute hypothermia in a foreign street'.
"I'm sure it would please the people if you'd make yourself useful, Princess Merida."
Merida looked up upon entering the courtyard, finding the eyes of Prince Hans. He held a neatly-folded pile of fresh, warm cloaks out for her.
"Help me distribute these. We need to make sure the Arendellians stay warm, and we should tell those who aren't aware yet that we're providing food too."
What a warm gesture from the Southern Isles' prince. Merida remained quiet, but accepted the clothes he handed her with a weak nod. It surprised her he even bothered to speak to her in English. She trotted after him through the snow, watching him as he spoke encouraging words to the few citizens still out and about, and she distributed cloaks wherever she could without saying a word.
"You're glaring," said the prince after a few minutes. "Stop. It's scary."
Merida frowned. "Am truly sorry if you're scared of me."
"I'm not talking about me." Prince Hans shook his head, licking his lips chapped by the cold. "The people. Try to look more friendly."
"Hm. Telling me what to do now, are you?"
He sighed, closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose. "We don't need to like eachother to do this, but we need to present ourselves as a united front. For the people, you understand? As long as we're calm, as long as we're not fighting amongst ourselves, they'll follow our example."
Her mother would have agreed, would have eaten the words right up. All Merida cared about was the insinuation. "You don't like me?"
Prince Hans raised a hand to wave at an Arendellian man neither of them knew. A friendly gesture. "You seem like you would appreciate honesty. Do you want to know what I think of you?"
"Do tell."
He gave her a smile, razor-sharp, twinkling as white as the snow covering their wintery prison in the last rays of sunlight still passing through the clouds. "I believe you to be an insolent, self-important, foolish girl who doesn't know her place."
Merida balled her hands into fists, bit her tongue and recalled what her mother had taught her. Wrecking rooms and breaking bones wasn't always an option. She had to count to ten, or twenty, thirty, a hundred or two or three if that was what it took to calm down. She began the mental exercise, and asked: "And what do you presume my place is?"
The prince took a few seconds to come up with a reply. "The gutters of Paris, at best."
"Never been there."
"Every important royal has been to Paris." An insult, embedded in what could have been an innocent observation. Goddamn, this guy was good.
"You're an open book, Princess," said Prince Hans upon seeing her face reddening with anger. "If you wanted to play power's game, you should have come better prepared."
Merida's count reached eighty-nine. "What about yourself?" She hissed, for once in a quiet tone of voice her mother would have been proud of if she'd heard it. Well, if she wouldn't comment on the hidden malice, that was. "You're too good to be true, Prince Hans. You're too perfect. Arendelle's new Golden Boy. You act like a saviour, you want to be a saviour, but with the way you're going about it, I won't believe for a second you're being genuine."
Merida had male friends, the sons of the lords, with whom she got along well. She'd never found them threatening in the slightest. That was, as her father had so eloquently voiced it, because 'they shared one collective brain cell and took turns using it'. With Macintosh, MacGuffin and Dingwall, she knew who and what she was dealing with. But this Prince Hans was different. This Prince Hans was clever, slithering through the courtyard like a snake feigning kindness, waiting to sink his venomous fangs into his unsuspecting victims. If there was anything Merida knew to be dangerous, it was clever men in positions of power.
Her speech did not sit well with the prince. He straightened himself to make himself look bigger, which Merida found a laughable scare tactic, even if she had to admit he did it with an air of sheer regality hanging around him. His eyes narrowed as he delivered his answer, his words slow but full of emotion:
"I didn't ask for this burden to be bestowed upon me, Princess. I didn't ask to be a saviour. It was Princess Anna's good judgment that left me in charge, and I have faith in my fiancée. It's my duty to look after her people as well as I can. A heavy responsibility, but if I must be a saviour, I will be what I must be." He began to speak faster, still calm, but with more fire in his voice. "And if you're jealous, Princess Merida, because you wanted to be the saviour in my stead, all I can do is feel pity for your troubled soul."
Pity for her… was this guy for real? Jealous? Her distrust towards Prince Hans had nothing to do with jealousy. She didn't want to be Arendelle's saviour. She hadn't come with glory or fame in mind. Right? Or was she indeed…?
No. It dawned on her how dangerous the prince was, how he'd played her like a fucking fiddle. His silver tongue had almost managed to make her believe the lies he'd told about her. This man twisted her words faster than she could speak them, and he wielded his own like a weapon, deadlier than she knew she herself could be. He was one to watch out for.
"I've got no memory of saying I was-"
She didn't finish her sentence upon hearing the noise, clearly audible in the quiet that had reigned before. Neighing. She turned away from Prince Hans, towards the gates of the courtyard, searching for the source.
Prince Hans cursed in his native tongue when the horse came into view. The poor animal panicked, bucking and neighing and never standing still, its rider thrown off long ago. Even if Merida hadn't had experience with Angus for years, she would have been able to tell this horse was in visible distress. A few guards rushed towards it to calm it down, and she rushed towards them in return.
"That's Princess Anna's horse," she said, shocked.
"Kjekk?" Prince Hans frowned, reaching out to help calm the horse down. "But where's Princess Anna?"
"Not here, if you hadn't figured that out yet."
He shot her a brief glare before turning to the Arendellian guards with a worried voice. "Have you seen the princess? Is she here?"
"She hasn't been spotted, Your Highness."
The prince nodded, expression solemn, his frown never leaving. "I need volunteers to help me find Princess Anna!" He yelled, for all standing close to hear. The guards of Arendelle would join his cause, at least, sworn as they were to protect Arendelle's royal family. Merida wondered who Hans would leave in charge, but she vowed to ask her mother to keep an eye on matters in Arendelle while she was gone.
"I volunteer to accompany you, Prince Hans," she told him with a smug smile before he could walk away. "And I promise you, I won't be denied another adventure."
She made for the courtyard, pleased she'd gotten her point across, and thought it was about high time she'd get to make use of her bow.

She likes Spring, I prefer Winter [WR x Diakko royalty au chapter 1]
This was supposed to be a one shot but halfway through I gave up and divided it in parts. You can read it here or on ao3
Atlas, unlike the other three kingdoms in remnant, maintained the monarch rule under the jurisdiction of Jacques Schnee. The Schnee Dust Company is the largest producer of Dust in all of remnant. Dust enables the people of remnant their daily life and protects them from the creatures of Grimm. Jacques Schnee, current ruler of Atlas and CEO of SDC, has the entire Atlas military wrapped around his fingers under the command of General James Ironwood, making him the most powerful man in all of remnant. It should be illegal for any man, king or no king, to wield that much power. Ruby rifles through the rest of the files on her scroll.
Jacques Schnee has three offsprings, all of them were set to inherit a part of his Monopoly on power once they came of age. His firstborn was Military Specialist Winter Schnee, Ruby has had way too many close encounters with Atlas military to remember the intimidating posture of Winter Schnee. His youngest was Whitley Schnee, he appears to be a regular person, or as regular as a Schnee prince would be. It seems however that he lacks the talent in summoning that both of his sisters wield.
The middle child and the heiress of Jacques kingdom was Princess Weiss Schnee, the object of tonight's contract. Ruby studies the face that she had seen a thousand times on scrolls, giving speeches on stadiums or simply accompanying her father on political events.
White hair that cascades down her back in a long side ponytail with a glass tiara on top of her hair. Frost blue eyes, similar to her sister's, stare at the camera haughtily in pride or in defiance, Ruby couldn't tell. She looks delicate, like a porcelain doll that would break under your touch. Every bit of the fairytale princess Ruby imagined her to be.
"Miss Rose, I need you to track down the group of assailants." Ruby looked up from her scroll, to the duchess across the wooden table.
Diana Cavendish, the sole heir to the Cavendish line and Cavendish Medical Group. From what Ruby understands of Atlas Politics, their family is the second largest influence in Atlas. Even in what Ruby assumed to be her casual clothes, as casual as proper decorum would allow a duchess, Diana Cavendish looks terribly out of place in a run down tavern in the lower part of the city. Next to her sat a brunette with crimson eyes glaring at Ruby. Ruby recognized her as Atsuko Kagari, one if not the best huntress of their generation.
"So uhh... your grace. Can you tell me how the abduction happened?" Ruby twiddles with her scroll. Diana was gorgeous albeit a bit intimidating, every bit of the noblewoman expected of her. She had sharp features but with the blonde tea green hair framing her face, it looks disarming. She had a thumb beneath her chin and a thoughtful look on her as she goes to recount the events earlier.
~*~
"Akko!" Diana's voice echoed through the alleyway as she fought through the onslaught of enemies in white masks. They were singling Akko out, backing her away from Diana and Weiss fighting with their backs against each other. Klein, Weiss' butler was down. Diana shouldn't be this worried, Akko was a huntress, a graduate from Luna Nova Academy even, before being her personal guard. Akko is yet to use her semblance and with Claiomh Solais, Akko's weapon that could take on many forms, Diana is confident they wouldn't be able to subdue the brunette easily.
Diana grips Excalibur, her weapon, by the hilt. A sword of ice that can freeze everything it wounds. It was a pleasant accompaniment for her semblance but the pre-requisite for her summoning is nowhere to be found. Summoning is a common hereditary semblance for the upper echelon of Atlas. It symbolize the family's pride and noble blood descendant from the magic of the ancients. Where Weiss could summon any enemy she bested in combat, Diana could summon the spirit of those she healed given that she has water to summon it from. The stark differences and similarity in their semblances were so telling of their family histories, they rarely brought it up.
Weiss and Diana were holding their ground, facing the enemy with their backs against each other. There were just so many of the enemy that whenever they strike down one, three more would take it's place. There was barely room to fight without hitting each other with their swords.
"Weiss, we have to get out of here." Diana hissed at her friend, who just casually rolled her eyes at Diana.
"Don't you think I know that? These mangy beasts smell an awful lot like animal dung." Weiss fired another volley of fire dust towards the masked assailants as Diana parries and thrust her way towards Akko's direction.
"I really don't think it's wise for you to say that. They have incredible hearing." Diana shook her head at her friend. Weiss can be a bit too much sometimes. Suppose it was the Schnee upbringing talking.
"Oh, trust me, Dia. I meant for them to hear." Weiss smirks at Diana and created a glyph to act as Diana's cover. "Go get your girlfriend. We'll talk about you two snogging later. I'll deal with these losers."
"Be safe." Diana nods her way and continues to try and ease the attacks on Akko.
Unlike with her and Weiss, the masked assailants were in no way careful, nor do they have any intention of holding back for the sake of capture. Diana could feel the murderous intent coming off of them. Their attacks on Akko came with the intent to kill. Akko was panting, surrounded but her grip on the sword version of Claiomh Solais was firm. Akko saw her coming, nodding in understanding and then the tell tale blinding light of Akko activating her semblance distracts them all as an elephant emerges from the light, brandishing the ax version of the Claiomh Solais, bashing people against the wall. Diana hacked and slashed through the never ending spur of people, one tried to grab her hair and pulled her backwards towards the direction of another Faunus wielding a club.
"Diana! Watch out!" Weiss projected a hastily summoned glyph to protect Diana's head from being bludgeoned by a club, getting caught off guard herself by a blow from a bull Faunus that rendered Weiss unconscious.
"Weiss!" Diana watched, struggling against the hold on her, as the bull Faunus passed the unconscious princess onto another Faunus who materialized out of thin air, sprinting out of their sight. The one holding her poised for another strike when Akko, the elephant charged, disregarding the other Faunus trying to get to her, waving and hitting them with the blunt end of the ax. The elephant trampled over Diana's captors and scooped up the duchess using her trunk, placing her gently on her back, taking off after the captor. But they were too late, the fleeing Faunus were everywhere but the one who Diana saw carrying Weiss' limp frame was gone.
~*~
"Anyone wants to enlighten me why the two most targeted heiress of Atlas is wandering around in the slums of the city without proper security?"
"Weiss and I always had these trips to see how the lower echelon of Atlas fairs with the changes in the economy. It's one of the things that makes a difference you know, knowing your country firsthand rather than from some servant." Diana explains patiently to Ruby who was a bit surprised by that revelation. To her, Weiss Schnee was nothing more than a spoiled brat with a silver tiara on her head and was born with a golden spoon on her mouth. At least that's what she hears from Blake, her teammate.
"It doesn't explain why you two are without proper security." Ruby pointed out. No matter how noble the intention, it was still reckless and something she didn't expect from the Duchess. The brunette, sitting next to the duchess, straightened up and met Ruby's eyes.
"I'm Atsuko Kagari, Diana's head of security and personal bodyguard." The brunette extends a hand that Ruby shook. "The princess recently fired her personal security and we were forced to take Klein, the butler, with us. He was past his prime. I'm a trained huntress myself, Miss Rose and while the duchess and the princess are easily the two most powerful summoners in Atlas, you also know that a huntress can encounter certain difficulties when it comes to a job." Ruby nods to that and takes a sip of her strawberry daiquiri.
"I've heard of you, Miss Kagari and Claiomh Solais. You singlehandedly rescued all of Atlas from the threat of a wyvern." Ruby tried not to sound so excited. From what she heard of the legendary weapon, it can turn into a sword, a club, an ax, and a grappling hook. Ruby would give anything to dismantle the weapon and take in all of its legendary awesomeness. Akko Kagari was one of the best huntress out here in Atlas, courtesy of Luna Nova, a huntress exclusive training academy.
"Trust me, it wasn't as good as the rumors made it out to be. I had good teammates supporting me and another 2 teams of Luna Nova's best huntresses behind my back." Akko turns to nod at Diana. "Her grace included. I doubt I can do anything without her help."
"So... You left the profession for?" Ruby crosses her arms, she couldn't imagine leaving the profession for anything.
"Oh. I didn't. I still go on hunts sometimes. I just prefer to be Diana's personal bodyguard when I don't. It's what we swore to do, you know, protecting people." Akko took Diana's hand in hers, intertwining it. "just on a smaller scale."
Ruby does not want to know the play by play details on how small that scale really is.
"Any ideas who it could be? You mentioned the culprit vanishing in thin air? Are there any faunus specie known to do that?" This time it was the duchess who spoke.
"Actually Miss Rose, from what I know of Faunus families, one particular is a chameleon Faunus but as I didn't see the face of the culprit, I'm not so sure myself." Diana then transfered a file to her scroll.
"We can't also rule out the possibility that it could be their semblance." Akko points out, to which Diana nodded.
"Alright, I'll look into it." Ruby tucks her scroll away. "Anything else I should know of?"
"Miss Rose are you familiar with the terrorist group, White Fang?" Akko asked, to which Ruby nodded.
"The White Fang. A group composed of Faunus activists fighting for their rights and equality against propaganda of huge corporations such as the Schnee Dust Company." Ruby easily corrected. Diana raised an eyebrow at that.
"Miss Rose, The White Fang has taken innocent lives as mere collateral for their cause. They do whatever it takes, whenever. I have faced against them countless of times in order to keep Miss Cavendish safe. This group has the Princess, the apparent heir to the throne. I admit it was due to some of my miscalculation but as we sit here, the Princess' life is in danger. Will you accept the job or not?" Akko throws haphazardly at the red haired huntress. Diana sneakily take her hand in hers and gave it a light squeeze in order to calm the brunette down.
"Weiss is going to be used as a pawn to start a war, Miss Rose. They're going to use her as leverage against her father and we would be thrown into another war. Countless of lives will be lost." Diana sighs.
"I accept." Ruby stands up. "I don't care much for your politics but the people's lives is something I swore to protect as a Huntress. I will retrieve the Princess, you can count on that."
"Thank you, Miss Rose." Diana nods curtly. "I understand your team is of high demand but I hope you will take this as a priority. You will be paid handsomely for it."
"It will be. Does her sister know?" Ruby asks out of curiosity. Winter Schnee does not seem like the person who would sit back and watch as other people retrieve her sister from enemy clutches.
~*~
"I will let Winter know. That'd be all, Miss Rose. Thank you." Diana dismisses as the huntress exits the room in the tavern with a nod.
"Tell me again, why we chose her?" Akko stared pointedly at Diana. "I could easily track Weiss. I'm still a huntress Diana."
"The White Fang knows you're hunting them. Don't tell me you didn't notice the way they were singling you out instead of fully capturing Weiss and I." Diana stared sternly at her stubborn girlfriend. "You're a damn great huntress Akko and the fang knows it. They might be expecting you to come for Weiss and I'm not going to give them that leverage. They'll be expecting you, not Ruby Rose."
"Surely there's anyone else out there? I feel like we're sending a kid to her death." Akko groans, studying the blade of Claiomh Solais. The golden glint of the blade reflecting off on the seven rubies embedded in the hilt.
"Underestimating Ruby is not something you should do, Akko. Their team is easily the best known for their tracking, be it Grimm or human. Weiss will have our heads if she knew we didn't pull out all the stops." Diana grabs the glass of wine and gulped down its contents. She's going to need it if she's delivering the news to Winter.
"Besides, that girl badly needs a girlfriend. She's been so irritable lately." Diana chuckles softly. "She can easily get out of The Fang's clutches and you know it Akko. I pity the poor chap who's going to face the wrath of the ice princess." Diana extends her glass towards Akko, only for the brunette to pour her wine.
"You mean to tell me you're spending this God awful lot of money for the princess to have a girlfriend?" Akko stares in disbelief at Diana.
"I mean, I dearly love my cousin. I do. But I need her off my back. And if that takes a cute silver eyed huntress and a lot of money then so be it." Diana swirls the wine in her glass, contemplating whether or not to tell Winter. At best, she would send a manhunt operation for The Fang. At worst, probably execute anyone found in the process.
"Come on, Akko. You have to agree. Miss Rose was definitely Weiss' type. Horrendous haircut, stupid puppy smile, sparkly eyes, strong arms and a capable huntress." Diana lists off.
"It sounds a lot like your type, Diana." Akko pouts. Diana merely shrugs.
"Weiss and I share a lot of similarities." Diana laughs. Akko takes the glass of wine from her girlfriend.
"I'm sorry about Weiss you know I couldn't even do my job properly. I couldn't even keep you safe." Diana was fine with it earlier and true to her words, Akko was her personal guard but she's also so much more than that to Diana. It doesn't mean it doesn't hurt when the brunette blames herself for something out of her realm of control.
Still, Diana couldn't help but be worried for Weiss. Weiss was still the crown princess, more than that, she was Jacques Schnee's daughter. If it came down to who is more likely to be executed by The Fang in a show of power, Diana would be in less imminent danger than Weiss. Because unlike Weiss, Diana had a good family lineage and Cavendish Medical Group treated the Faunus kind fairly.
"Akko, honey it's not your fault. Weiss saved me. And we both know Weiss is capable of protecting herself but still that idiot. Putting her life on the line for me when she's the crown princess. you know The Fang wouldn't harm me. They want Weiss." Diana said softly. Truthfully, she feels just as guilty. Weiss was in this predicament because she protected Diana. They wouldn't be in this mess if Diana wasn't so busy having her tongue inside Akko's mouth ten minutes before Weiss got abducted. Akko turned to look at Diana with such speed, she could've gotten whipslash from it, an angry glint in her eyes as she moves around the table to glare at Diana.
"You don't know that! What if Weiss didn't save you! The White Fang has killed thousands of people, Diana. What makes you think they're gonna stop now? Because you've been changing the way your company runs? What about the time Daryl ruled? She was just as bad as Weiss' father. Do you honestly think you being head of the family makes you a friend to The Fang? You going against the current administration paints you even more a target on both sides. It could've easily been you and not Weiss and if that happened, I would be out of my mind, tearing apart this city, looking for you."
For every word she says, she steps closer to Diana, effectively backing her to a corner of the small room they've rented just for meeting the huntress. Diana has never seen Akko this furious before and usually it wasn't directed at her. Akko raised an arm to her side, intimidating her a bit.
"Akko, I am still your authority." Diana whispered weakly. "I will not be spoken to in such disrespect."
"No, Diana." Akko almost growled at that, pulling the duchess closer to her. "I sworn my life to protect yours. You're not just my sovereign. You're my girlfriend. My duty is to you. I don't give a single flying fuck whoever the crown princess is. If Weiss hadn't save you, I had easily failed as your girlfriend and your guard. You're all I got." Akko whispers the last part, almost out of breath from her long rant. Diana pulls the brunette closer humming, Akko all but tucks herself in the crook of Diana's neck, placing soft kisses there.
"I thank every single God in remnant I have you." Diana says after a moment of tranquility.
"I was so scared I was going to lose you today." Akko let out shakily. "There were just so many and even with you there and Weiss' glyphs, they still overwhelmed us. I couldn't do anything, D. When Weiss was taken, I was scared they'll take you too. I couldn't let that happen." Akko was crying, Diana tried to free an arm but Akko wouldn't budge. Diana succeeded and lifted Akko's chin so she could see red rimmed eyes, exhaustion present in them and nothing else but love for Diana.
"I'm okay, Love. See, and that's because of you, Akko. You saved me." Diana swipes Akko's messy bangs from her eyes and pressed a soft kiss on her lips. "You always do."
"Come on let's get some rest. It's been a long day"

A love worth fighting for
A/N: guess what y'all? After two years of writer's block and no words coming to my stupid head, I am back! That's right, I am back with a story idea that I think and I hope you will like. I haven't been on here awhile so I dunno who all my tags are and let me know of you want to be tagged. Please keep in mind this is a fanfiction, not real life and anything that happens in this story is purely for enjoyment and not real. Let's assume for story sake that everyone is single. It is a rpf alternate universe. I respect there wives just as much as I do the boys, so please no hate on the wives. Also, keep in mind I don't have a beta so all mistakes are solely on me, if I have some, please be kind to tell me. No hate will be tolerated, I have had my full share of it lately. It has been two years since I wrote anything and I'm kind of excited about it and nervous at the same time. I don't own the photos I have collected for this story line so thank you to those who post them. This is a Supernatural RPF and OFC and not a reader insert this time around. Thank you jen @grnsorrow helping me decide the aesthetic for this and helping me pick out photos to use. On a side note, please don't copy and post on other sights without my consent please thanks ... Ok let's say we post.
Warnings : cussing (each chapter will have a list as it grows.
Pairing Jensen Ackles and Samantha McKenzie, (none in particular I pictured)
Tumblr media
I was currently sitting  on the floor at the opryland hotel, i couldn't even muster up the want to move. I was exhausted to the point of nearly breaking down and let the water works take over. It had been an uneventful day, one that I will never ever forget, and the day that changed my life.
Let me back up a bit, so you can get the full story.  Hi, my name is Samantha McKenzie. I am a 23 year old, and well now unemployed.  I am from Texas, Houston to be exact, and my life is, or has not been a great life full of magic and unicorns dreams. I have had my fair share of ups and downs since I can remember, and I will gladly take the ups over the downs any day. I know those come in spurts, and when I do get them, I take em by the horns and savor the moment.  Only because I never know when it will happen again.
My parents both have passed on when I was younger and I have no brothers or sisters, which at times I'm thankful for, but at other times I miss the sibling connections that I see with most families. I was abused when I was a kid, from the time I was 5 to about 15 when I discovered that I could escape the house and not return.
Actually, back up. When my mom helped us escape the house that we lived with my father who was mentally, physically and emotionally abusive. He and my mom would always yell and fight, cursing words at each other, then he would make it out to be my mom's fault when he knew he started the whole thing.  They never knew this, but I would sneak out of my room through my upstairs window and sit on the roof side that was attached giving me space to sit and stare up at the stars. It cleared my head, and if I shut the window just a bit, but enough to reopen it and go back in later, I could drown out their arguing.  But sitting out there even on nights they didn't argue or yell, I would slip into my own world and imagine me someplace safe and sound. I am a huge reader of books, and I would read a period of time back to the renaissance era and imagine myself there, experiencing the costumes, and conflicts they had when a problem arose. Or I would sit there and dream of my own future if what I would be when I grew up, which as I sit here now laugh back at my thoughts because it didn't end up the way I wanted it to.  Life is funny, and it's strange how you dream up how you want it to be, even going far as mapping out a timeline and have it all turned upside in a snap, because if one mistake.
One stupid fucked up mistake that sent my ass to jail for nearly being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I sighed thinking back that fateful night, if I had stayed home just 15 minutes longer, I would have been ok. But no, I had to have some ice cream because I was out and my boyfriend dumped me for someone else, only because I would not have sex with him. Hell I was 17 years old, I wasn't sure of what I wanted in life at that time, but I could tell you, it wasn't sex. So, what the hell do I do? I grabbed my purse and keys to the house I was sharing with a friend and headed to the store down the street to get ice cream.
For the love of God, I wished I would have stayed home. Walking in, I knew, no i felt something off and i should have turned away and backed out never going in, but at the same time my head was saying get ice cream.  I was hurting and my heart was not connecting with my head, so my head over ruled that decision and I went in.
Walking to where I knew the ocean cream was, I saw an old friend of mine and they were standing by the pharmacy side where they had rows of  condoms and other items related to sex and such. I saw her literally put something in her purse and grab other things in her hand.
"Seriously?" I whispered to myself as I continued to watch her.  My head was saying go stop her, and my heart was saying no don't get involved. But remember my head was not connecting with my heart so I walked over to her.
"Sarah," I tapped her shoulder from behind her and she must have jumped a mile high when I did.
"What the fuck, Sam?" She said as she turned around to face me, "Trying to give someone a damn heart attack or something?"
"Or something, what the hell are you doing?"  I looked at her like a mother would when they know you have done something wrong.
She pulled me over to the side and placed her hand on my shoulder, "Jake and I had sex two weeks ago, and I think I'm pregnant.  I am late with my period, and my parents are going to kill me." Her breathing was staggered and erratic.
I saw her swallow a couple of times like she was trying to swallow a lump that had formed in her throat.  I know the feeling of getting caught, been one to many times myself in her position and its one i don't want to repeat. I have gotten lucky at times and none had placed charges on me, but when your a runaway and trying to live with what you have, you do what you need to, to survive.
"Just think about what your doing Sarah,"  she looked at me confusingly. I sighed, "I saw you out stuff in your purse. If you need money, I can help you."  I was doing everything I can to help her make the right decision.
She looked at me, then put everything back on the shelf. "You don't know what it's like to be in my shoes, Sam. Just forget it, stay away from me. Don't bother helping me, my life is over anyways." She gave me a look then left the store.
What the fuck just happened?
I shrugged my head out of the state it was in and concentrated on getting my ice cream. I really needed it now, and fuck, that really pissed me off. See if I ever help anyone again.  I proceeded to the frozen section and grabbed my ice cream and a few other things, then went to check out. Little did I know, my life changed that night for the worse because I wanted to help a friend.  Shaking my head. Why do I always fuck up when things were going good? God save me.

Shame and Forgiveness Ch. 2
(Aftermath of the failed coronation for both Audrey and Ben.)
In Auroria...
The Honeymoon Cottage...
3rd POV
"THE MALEFICIENT(S) CRASH THE COURT!"
"KING BEN UNDER SCRUTINY!"
"IS KING BEN FIT FOR THE THRONE!?"
"LOVE SPELL MISHAP!? A PLAN TO TAKEOVER THE THROWN!"
"VILLIAN TEENS, RIGHT OFF THE ISLE!"
"ROYAL SCANDAL! IS BEN THE KING WE NEED!?"
THWACK!
Former Queen Leah, Queen Aurora, and King Philip looked up from their seats to see Audrey had thrown newspapers onto the table. One look at them said it all.
It had been a quiet morning in the 40-roomed castle and the cooks and fixed a delicious breakfast for the royal family for the family to enjoy. All but one, that is.
"Don't they have anything better to do than harass Ben!" she hissed. "It's bad enough that the coronation was ruined and postponed, but now they're making it seem like it's all his fault!"
Sighing, Queen Leah took a sip of her morning tea before explaining, "And they have that freedom to do so."
"What?" Audrey asked incredulously.
Her grandmother nodded. "When Ben was elected to be King, he knew what was expected of him by looking towards his father's rule. Now, changes can be expected, but when you have a spectacle as big as his coronation, it is no surprise it won't be taken lightly. In this case, some could believe this was all in his making."
"Huh? So they think he, what, planned on ruining his ascension to the throne to get more popular?" Audrey snorted.
Queen Leah sent her a fixed glare. "Watch your tone, young lady. It is not becoming of a princess. And to answer that question, no. Ben knew there was a risk by taking in those children of the Isle, and to let his guard down long enough for Maleficient's daughter was able to slip him a love spell is quite the scandal. Not to mention how the Fairy Godmother's daughter practically disgraced herself with that foolish display of hers."
"Yes," Audrey shrugged. She had heard that Jane had got the equivalent of a verbal thrashing and that her mother was going to keep her on a tight leash from now on.
"The fact of the matter is: Ben was, or still is, the representation of his people, and royalty alike. His actions reflect on his person, and those actions have made certain people believe that he isn't ready for the throne," Queen Leah stated.
"But he's a King!" Audrey exclaimed. "Or a Prince, at the very least! He grew up with royalty, he studied his butt off to know all there is to know about Auradon before it was even a founded country! His mother is the most down-to-Earth woman that has ever lived and he knows from his dad's past to not act like a spoiled brat. And he is so, so mature... He's ready for the mantle, Grandmother. This was just a...a hiccup."
Audrey inwardly winced at the sound her grandmother's hand hitting the redwood table.
"Just a hiccup!? Audria, please remove your personal feelings from the situation and regard it like a princess," Queen Leah admonished. "Just because he is a prince, doesn't mean that he has the maturity of one. If you may want an example, think of Queen Cinderella's son, that for his childish action in which would make any royal monarchy disown him, was simply sent away for the remainder of the year. From the way rumors have it, especially considering how with his mother's background of being a servant in her own home, it would do him some good to learn some humility before embarrassing his family's name in ignorance. Ben is young, yes, but a ruler should know when to make certain risks and when to ensure his people's safety. And while yes, his family background has given him a sense of modesty, being smart isn't always enough. A king must be prepared to give himself, all of himself, to his people. Especially as he gets older, he will realize that he has no time for fun and games."
"So what happens? Because he's not fully instated as of the coronation, the council can just what? Abdicate his right to the throne? Pick someone else?" Audrey asked.
"Well, I wouldn't use that exact wording, but most likely, yes," Queen Leah stated indifferently.
"But that's not fair!"
"Life isn't fair, Audria, and you would do well to remember that!" her grandmother snapped. Audrey jumped back at the steel in her voice.
"Mother!" Aurora exclaimed. King Philip was just about to join in when Queen Leah raised her hand, taking a breath.
"I apologies, Audrey," she started, "and I can see why you'd feel this way. But you must know that actions must have consequences. Just look at what Maleficient's daughter had planned. She had waved that wand at us, at you, and then read all about her plans for Auradon if she had succeeded in controlling Ben! I am under a good authority that for her plans to had become fruition, it would have been years. And if she was well-liked and silver-tongued enough, maybe sooner. It's bad enough what her mother had done, but now her child had been this close to Auradon's ruin...It's all out in the air now and if he wants to reclaim any doubt that he could still make a good king, how he handles it will determine so. And with that, comes with an eventual press conference if he wants to start."
Taking in a deep breath and reigning in her frustrations, she sat down beside her grandmother and placed her head down.
"I don't think that's even going to come close once school starts again," Audrey groaned inwardly.
Officially, because of the incident and in concern for the safety of the students and their, Auradon Prep had been closed for an unscheduled break and be re-open in two weeks. Audrey and everyone else, including Ben, would be returning the week after this one.
Unofficially, the scandal has put AP under lockdown for a high-profile investigation regarding the VKs whereabouts, classes and extracurricular activities. They were looking for anything that was a dead giveaway to their plans and had slipped under their noses.
And Fairy Godmother was leading the charge.
Queen Aurora and King Philip reached out and grabbed both of her hands softly, to comfort her as she let out what was practically screaming in her chest.
"I told them," she started, feeling her eyes moisten. "I told everyone that Mal and her friends couldn't be trusted. I told Ben repeatedly that, as your stories said, the evil fairy is still the evil fairy. That doesn't change just because she had a child. And what do I get: I get humiliated in front of everybody as he...as he declared his love for Mal. Of all people, and I had to suddenly grab and get with Chad to because-"
"Shhh," Aurora soothes, bring another hand to caress her daughter's head and wipe her tears. "You don't have to explain. It over now."
King Philip growled and did his best to make it as inconspicuous as he could. He had heard rumors about that game and got mixed stories. Future king or not, Audrey was his only daughter, his only child, and for Ben to hurt her like that? Under a love spell or not, he would have killed him. It would have made fighting Maleficent look like a walk in the park!
He knows his daughter was proud, and unlike her mother in many ways, but at that moment when she called crying, all he could do is comfort her over the phone alongside her mother and tell her it would pass.
"I was the bitter ex-girlfriend as she got popular. Cheerleading was only bearable since I was the captain, but most of my friends avoided me in favor of her. Using magic to help the girls grow longer hair. Yeah, so what if I was mean to her on Family Day, Jane was just as well! She took it farther than me almost. And then my reputation when down the hill too. Reduced to a bitter, jealous, vengeful princess now...I don't think I can trust anyone at that school anymore. Maybe I should transfer to Arcadia or maybe Sherwood Academy is better. Ha, maybe that might stick it to 'em!" she laughed bitterly.
"You're not going anywhere because you're staying at Auradon," Queen Leah said finality.
Audrey whipped her head to her in shock. "What?"
"Audi, you can't just hide from your problems. Trust me, I was raised by fairies for 16 years to escape a 100-year sleeping curse and it still happened!" Aurora stated irritatedly.
Shaking his head at his wife, King Philip took over. "Look, Audrey, sometimes in life you've got to pick your battles and to know when it's time to surrender. You sensed something in your gut that told you something was off right?"
She only nodded.
"Good," he continued. "You knew something was off, you tried to warn people, and sometimes, the best and only thing you can do is let the chips lie where they fall. It may not feel right or make you feel better, but that's how it can be sometimes. You tried, you fought, probably longer than you should, but you eventually had to move aside. You said your piece and that's all you had to do. Everyone else? They have to live with the fact that they chose not to heed your warning and that's on them. But not you. And that's why you're staying at Auradon. Because as King and Queen, and your parents, you don't get to give up so easily."
"And what if they try to apologize?" Audrey asked. She only thought about it once and decided she didn't want their apologies and excuses.
"Then, you straighten your back, keep your head up, look them in the eyes, grace them with a small smile, and simply say '"Thank You"' and '"I accept your apology"'. Granted, you may not feel like it, but a princess must always carry herself with strength and dignity as well as grace and respect. You may have been born with that title, but the only person who can take that away from you is yourself and by running away, that is exactly what your doing," Queen Leah told, keeping her granddaughter's eyes on her.
The power Audrey felt perforating into her made get into a proper position to raise her head high. While it did do some good for her, part of her knew her family's advice could only do so much.
