deeply refreshing to see someone critical of Swift who also like, genuinely likes her. Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao
not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad

Something really great about the persona 2 cast is that they all individually fucking SUCK to talk to casually. Every single one of them. They are all infuriating. We have:
Tatsuya, who will stare at you blankly if you try to initiate conversation (IS) and will dip without saying a word afterward (EP)
Batsuya, who will scoff and brush you off/otherwise act dismissive
Eikichi, who might honestly be the best to talk to in the IS crew and that is not saying much, who WILL talk extremely loudly over you (probably not on purpose?) and will not be paying particularly close attention to the conversation beyond whatever he wants to say (gets points for talking about his gf. gets points taken away for constantly talking about his gf)
Lisa, who will automatically assume bad faith and will be rude to you the entire conversation unless you manage to defuse her temper (good luck)
Jun, who is uncommunicative at BEST and requires an encyclopedic knowledge of flowers, metaphor and body language just to get a HINT on what he’s thinking, and who will be extremely polite but completely unhelpful. If you tried asking him what he wants for dinner I guarantee it will be the longest 30 minutes of your life as he goes “oh I have no opinion :) whatever you want. :))” EXCEPT HE DOES HAVE OPINIONS. He has SO MANY OPINIONS. He is Expecting you to be able to pick up on his “obvious” clues. He will be passive aggressive if you don’t. (Jun babygirl you suck so bad I love u)
Maya, who is a delight but will very quickly become grating if you try to talk to her about anything serious as she hits you with the white suburban mom's "how to live a happy, healthy life" lifecoach slogans. You can’t even mention, like, stepping in a puddle or something without her hitting you with the positivity beam.
Yukino is great actually. 10/10. She’s fabulous we love her. Incredible conversationalist, chill and fun and easy to get along with. But she’s from Persona One, she doesn’t Count.
Ulala, who WILL bring up her relationship problems in every conversation within 10 minutes at least once. Any longer and she will start talking about Maya.
Do I even need to explain Baofu. Have you seen him.
And finally, Katsuya, who is a cop and a kiss ass and Very Obvious about these things. Also he can't talk to women. He can barely talk to men. Help Him.
And yet they all work wonderfully as a group. They are so annoying I love them

*THIS IS NOT A SCALE WITH STRICT DEFINITIONS. empathy is socially constructed and circumstantial and can be used to mean about a million different things. so this is like. as overly-simplified a question as possible.
the context is i'd consider myself low/no empathy and i'm curious about the range of experience of people here.

Ooooh I’m having Porter thoughts. His masculinity is so performative, he knows how to play into it. He’s comfortable in it but he’s also comfortable not presenting typically masculine. He’s connected to his body and the feelings of it and he can notice a change in it the minute he wakes up and find a way to get back to his base level normal.
But he can’t comprehend his emotions to save his life. He knows rage, he gets anger, but he can go beyond that, he hasn’t stopped at anger in years. He feels and expresses love in the way he does everything else: physically.
Whether it’s through sex, fist fighting, screaming, squeezing the thing so hard until it pops, eating a gift, whatever. If it’s a physical, tangible, bodily expression of love it makes sense to him. But saying it? Hardest thing in the fucking world. Because it requires so much vulnerability and he doesn’t do anything vulnerably. It might fucking kill him.
He loves giving gifts though. He loves cooking. He loves saying “I love you,” in all the ways that don’t involve saying it. The person will understand, right? Jace will understand?
His Jace that is so in tune with his emotions, so vulnerable but in a way that’s so strong to him. He looks at Jace and sees strength in his smiles and soft touches and the kisses he leaves at the corner of his mouth. His Jace that doesn’t hesitate to say I love you for the first time.
Porter still kicks himself for not saying it back in a way that Jace would appreciate. He should’ve said it back, he just didn’t know how.

Do you think the guest pcs will return before the campaign ends? Some were sent on a research quest and Yu is still sorta kinda involved with the things we learned about Zathuda.
There was a bigger tendency of reoccurring guests back in c1 but it's become less frequent since then. Then there's also the challenge of chaos table with ten people that didn't work all that well.
Anyway, I just wanted to know your opinion.
I truly have no idea. I think it would make a lot sense to bring back Deanna, FRIDA, and Prism should schedules work out! Their research is relevant and Deanna and FRIDA especially have very strong ties to Chetney and FCG, so at the very least it would be nice to see them again, but it is true that all three at once is a lot. I'd also like to see Dorian again if possible but I don't know if there's as natural an entry point. I must admit, I don't really see what Yu can provide that Zathuda himself wouldn't be able to provide, but also I notably don't care for Yu and don't spend time thinking about them unless directly asked.
For what it's worth the reason it wasn't frequent in Campaign 2 was almost certainly due to COVID restrictions; I know they planned to have Aimee on, and probably would have had others back. With that said, this might be unpopular but I think I am less excited about guests than many. Now that we have EXU and Candela, there are opportunities for non-main cast actors to come on a CR show and actually have a starring role in this series, rather than serve as a brief guest in someone else's full campaign, and I suspect the CR main cast is cognizant of this balance. I also think that guests are fun but this is a full table - with Ashley no longer away much of the time, even one person makes 8 players which is quite a lot; it was actually rare for a guest to be present while Ashley was also present during C1-C2. So I think the best way to continue having guests is to do it as with Trial of the Take in C1, the Iron Shepherds arc in C2, and the solstice split in C3 and do it when only some of the CR table is present, and I'm not sure that's likely to happen with Bells Hells at this point.

things aren’t going well with peach. while i think my dad’s very right to be concerned that she hasn’t eaten anything in nearly 60 hours (obviously i am too), im becoming increasingly concerned that she hasn’t slept at all in around 36 hours and prior to that she was under anaesthetic, which isn’t exactly restful, so it’s closer to 48 hrs
like dad took her back to the vet today and we’ve got injections for her painkillers now because she’s not eating, and also injections for fluids (because she doesn’t drink; she only gets water from her food), so the not eating is Bad but also kinda under management, but if she doesn’t sleep soon i’m extremely worried. dad was like ‘if she doesn’t eat by tomorrow afternoon we’ll take her back because the injections will run out’ but like. if she doesn’t sleep tonight we have GOT to take her back first thing in the morning so they can sedate her or something

on my quest to find more books to read this year, there's been something kind of heartwarming to see that of the books on hold at my local library, or on the weekly bestseller's list at my local bookstores, there's always at least one book up there that's about Palestine. It's at least nice to see that some people in my area want to learn about the historical context of what's happening now, and learn far more than what a few posts on their feed can tell them. It makes me hope that public perception will continue to change for the better - and that the kind of support I've seen in my area won't die down immediately after a ceasefire is called

Jean is… overworked?? There isn’t a ton of stuff that’s coming to mind for her besides being inexperienced, left in charge and being harassed by fatui politics. There. Isn’t a lot of Freedom there
yeah exactly. so ultimately the strongest Freedom motif in mondstadt is a surprising lack of it given international politics and absent authority figures (saddling others who are probably not paid enough for it (or prepared) to deal with it all) and Kaeya and Albedo. like even the outriders, whom you'd think would be the poster children for freedom, are literally obsolete. like amber's the only one and i think she's been the only one for a while. i can't remember rn if there were even any outriders between her grandpa fucking off to who knows were and her enrolling in the knights. also the whole manga situation with diluc leaving the knights bc they wanted to keep things on the downlow (no freedom of speech). also the church policing everyone to worship barbatos in one specific way and not any other, so. weird move for the worshippers of the god of freedom to insist there's only one correct way to worship the man and not... you know. that people are free to go about doing so however they please...?
