After several polls of coming in second or third or fourth or whateverth place, Bo-Katan's Obitine Flashbacks finally won!
Bo-Katan doesn’t know specifics, but she does know it hasn’t been more than a month.
She lowers her voice. “I’m sorry for your loss, Wren. I know you and the Jedi were… close…”
And Sabine Wren drops her face into her arms, bursting into tears and then apologizing through her hysterical sobs, which tells Bo-Katan exactly how close they were.
Bo-Katan is hit with a feeling of deja vu, like she’s done this before.
Wait.
No.
She has.
Ha ha. Fun.
This is just exactly what she needed right now, another woman brokenhearted over a Jedi.
And she thought the time with her sister had been awkward.
Wren is still rambling, half-incoherently as she rubs her eyes and tries to pull herself together, a mix of excuses and explanations and aching, soul-deep pain.
She says enough to give Bo-Katan another realization.
Unless Bo has entirely misheard—not only did Wren have feelings for the Jedi boy—not only did the Jedi boy have feelings for Wren in return—not only did they confess to each other—they also said the vows, which is, Bo is pretty sure, farther than Satine ever got with her Jedi, and then the thought of Satine and Kenobi gives Bo-Katan the most horrifying notion yet.
“Oh, my gods, are you pregnant?”
Sabine sits up, eyes huge, mouth hanging open in speechless bewilderment.
“Am I… no!”
Her answer is entirely sincere, and Bo-Katan slumps in relief.
Manda be praised. We don’t need more Korkies.

i'm seeing much ado about nothing this weekend, and you seem to be the expert (or at least biggest fan) on the play!! anything i should know going into it for a first-time viewer?
anon, if this is my reputation, then my work here is done. thanks ever so for the chance to go on about much ado, the only problem now is getting me to shut up.
like many Shakey plays, much ado relies on no small amount of trickery to drive its plot. because of this, if you haven’t already, i’d suggest skimming through a synopsis. the underhand plotting is done in full view of the audience of course, but in some performance venues (like the Globe), acoustics can make it challenging to catch details.
watch the non-verbals. much ado is a very physical comedy. for Benedick and Beatrice, you’ll find that a surprising chunk of their character arcs might come through to the audience in facial expressions, posture, blocking, etc.. since their witticisms rarely say what they mean, body language can hold clues. but all this should also be made obvious from line delivery, even if you can’t see the actors very clearly.
the choice of setting is worth noting. usually, each production of much ado is set in its time period for very deliberate reasons. common ones include how the setting emphasises class and gender divides, or enforces social norms like chastity (for obvious reasons, considering Hero’s fate).
spot the dirty jokes! as most much ado fans will agree, this play is pretty much one cheeky wisecrack after another. sometimes they’re purely for good old-fashioned fun, other times they are also symptomatic of recurring themes like gender roles, patriarchal norms, etc.
of course there’s a lot more than what i could think of. over different productions, you might see how modifying how a line is said, who it’s said to, or changing the genders of characters affects the dynamics of the play. but you can always get into that later if you want — for a first time, have a good laugh, and try not to jump up on stage and box Claudio’s ears at the end. enjoy! x

Someone please remind me to do my silly little compare/contrast post for Juanito & Ethan. I will forget tomorrow as my energy is drained by uhhh [squints] an experiment I have been planning all week that genuinely won't even take that long to do.

I mean no offense but Kristie is also getting voted a lot because of her popularity outside of her play. Both Kristie and Ali have had pretty good seasons with a bad team but neither has been The standout player or anything. They're listed because they're both good, they got some votes because of play, and some off of sheer popularity. It's just how the world works. I'm sure they themselves even know it.
yeah, that was the point of that last anon post was that kris and kriegs and ash were getting popularity votes.
