OOC: nope, anthries have assigned genders from the same way humans do, but the only reason for that is because it gives me the ability to do trans storytelling and make the characters more relatable to the human experience. ferries however dont have the thing that "assigned genders" come from, so people choose the gender/pronouns of their pets in the same way they name them
