Decided to rewrite the scene where Aphmau sees Garroth’s face for the first time because I’m insane !!
Aphmau paused for a moment as she reached the mine's entrance. After finally having her own thoughts and fears laid to rest she finally took a moment to realize what she's about to do, to realize what this information might do to Garroth. Zenix was like a son to him, he took him in when he was young and raised the boy to the best of his abilities. However, now....he'll never see him the same, not after learning about his horrendous deeds, what he did to this village, to their previous lord and his family. Aphmau took a deep breath, reminding herself to tread carefully when approaching this subject with Garroth, the wounds were still fresh after all.
She began her decent into the mines.
"Garroth...?" Before her was a man slumped over, seated on the raw cobblestone ground. He held his head low in one hand as the other gripped a diamond sword. It stood tall in front of his crestfallen form, almost as if it was shielding him from others, from her.
Garroth cracked one eye open as he looked up at her before shutting it again, he winced in pain and turned his head to the side, avoiding her gaze, "Don't look at me Aphmau..."
Aphmau paused with her mouth slightly agape, he was nothing like she'd imagined him to be. For one, she expected the man to be far older than what he seemed to be, perhaps due to the way he spoke or the way in which he carried himself. Instead, a decently young man was presented before her. She let herself study his features for a moment, noting his feathery blond hair and cerulean blue eyes.
"Garroth...your face..."
He sighed deeply, "I failed the village...it's people...everyone," his voice was gruff and filled with anger, but then grew somber, "even you..."
"That's nonsense!" Instinctively, Aphmau stepped towards him with a hand out, ready to comfort him, but she stopped herself, "You're my knight..."
Garroth remained silent.
Aphmau's heart panged slightly, knowing that her words weren't enough to comfort him.
Against her better judgement she decided to ask the one question that had been plaguing her mind since she first set eyes on Garroth's unmasked figure, "Why did you hide your face?"
He paused for a moment before finally facing her, looking straight into her big brown eyes, "I never wanted you to see me like this."
Her eyes softened under his gaze as she tilted her head quizzically, "But why...?"
Garroth spent so long wearing a helmet that he forgot how intimate a look could be, it was all too much too quickly so he averted her gaze once again, "It's a long story, one I'd rather not get into at the moment...maybe ever, but did you manage to find Levin's mother?"
"Yes." Aphmau's tone grew heavy as she lowered her gaze.
He felt her eyes leave him. His diamond sword was still propped up in front of him, almost acting as a barrier between them. Hearing her shaky voice pulled at his emotions and despite feeling exposed and vulnerable, he dropped it to the side and reached out to her. Without thinking, he outstretched his hand in an attempt to hold hers, but he stoped himself. Garroth realized that this touch would be far too intimate for a Lord and her guard to share, so instead he gived her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, urging her to continue.
She wiped away a stray tear, "I found her but...Zenix."
He froze.
"He was holding her captive. I wanted to save her, bring her back to Levin and let them be a family again but..." Aphmau sighed deeply before once again turning to face him, "She decided to stay behind, for Levin's sake. She said they'd hurt him if she didn't..."
Garroth gently removed his hand from her shoulder, sliding down her upper arm before returning to him, "What a noble woman, to make such a sacrifice like that...to stay away from her son for his own safety."
Aphmau looked into his eyes for a moment, pensively chewing the inside of her cheek as she pondered something.
He felt the intense urge to look away, but instead held her gaze.
"Do you...remember her?"
He took a moment to think, digging deep into his mind in search of any recollection of Matilda, his brows furrowed in thought. "Matilda...No, I've never heard the name. I would remember too."
"Hm, I see..." Aphmau hummed in acceptance, realizing that Garroth was also affected by the magic that caused the village to forget their previous Lord.
Garroth shut his eyes and sighed deeply before suddenly standing up, "This is too much to take in Aphmau, way too much. Zenix was...I raised him since he was a kid. To think that he was involved in the murder of a Lord...what village was it anyway?"
Aphmau froze, his deep blue eyes were looking down on her and bore into her soul, twisting her heart with guilt. He was right, this was all too much for him. Aphmau knew that this would push him over the edge, so she lied. His eyes were so full of sadness and regret, how could she not lie? How could she do nothing else but spare his feelings? "I...I don't know, he didn't say."
"I see. I wouldn't imagine he'd tell you anyways." Garroth sighed and rubbed a hand over his face, only now did Aphmau realize just how exhausted he looked. "Well it seems like you need some well deserved rest."
He extended out his hand, offering to help Aphmau up. She took his hand and he lifted her to her feet, "What're you going to do now?"
"I'm going to stay down here for a few hours, I need some time to recover my pride. I'm not running I just...it becomes overwhelming, failing so many people in the village." He reached down to pick up his sword, no longer looking at Aphmau.
"You didn't fail anyone, Garroth. I swear." Her words were stern as she clenched her teeth, she never wanted him to blame himself, ever.
"Kind words Aphmau," he was now facing away from her, but he smiled softly to himself before returning back to his somber expression, "but they don't help how I feel right now. I'll be back to helping up there, right now I think I'm going to mine some materials and try to clear my head from this mood I'm in. We'll talk more about what to do with Levin tomorrow." Garroth turned to look at Aphmau before giving her a reassuring smile, "Let's just make sure he's got a nice roof over his head to keep him warm."
A loving smile stretched across her face as she thought of Levin and how lucky he was to have someone as kind as Garroth in his life...how lucky she was.

Hello! I read older posts where you mentioned you weren't a fan of your writing. I think you're awesome though! Love your work. c:
I have a suggestion, if you happen to like it. Could we get Zoro (and any other characters) with a shy and aloof female reader who can't figure out they're being flirted with, even though they share the same feelings?
👩🏻‍💻Hey!! Thank you so much for your sweet words it means a lot to me🫶🏻✨ I’m super happy you love it! And yes ofc no problem!! I love the idea 🤭
📂 Zoro+ oblivious shy/aloof reader to his flirting
Featuring: Zoro+ f!reader Warning: none, fluff Note: I rewrote it and very much prefer this version, I hope you do as much as me
Tumblr media
Zoro was never the type of man to be outspoken about his feelings
His flirting is somewhat a bit clumsy and he gets frustrated with himself easily. He gets embarrassed by being open with how he feels.
It doesn’t help when you are clearly not reading in between the lines...
He even wonders if you are doing it intentionally to mess with him, but when you just give him a confused look or go on about your day like nothing happened, he questions himself 😭
A sigh leaves the swordsman's lips as his back leans against the railing of the deck. His thoughts wander and they always come back to one thing bothering him: you.
He starts to doubt himself as most of his flirting attempt were fails. A week ago, he complimented your outfit ,but you simple threw a short thanks with a smile as you walked away. Wednesday when he sat next you for dinner and brushed his arm against yours, you just apologized with a blush and slightly took your distance. Yesterday, when he asked to talk to you, but you stuttered a bunch of words and got away from him by grabbing Nami's arm.
He knew better than abandoning. In fact, ever since his feelings for you were revealed to him, all he could think of, was you. You occupied his mind when it wasn't focused on training, he found himself longing to hug you and smile when you do. Although, he thought about not pursuing you, scared it would ruin his focus on his goal. It was in vain, as he realized you were always very supportive of his goal and even cheered him to train harder and achieve his dream. He appreciate it a lot.
The sun is slowly setting on the Sunny, the golden light illuminating the boat. He looks far away, a hand on his swords and his head turns in your direction as your laugh echoes through the ship.
You are playing a card game with Robin, killing time before its time for supper.
His lips naturally curve into a discreet smile as he observes you complain about some move Robin did. You were accusing her of cheating with her ability, sulking over your lost as she quickly denies it with a chuckle. As he watches you, he notices that you did something different with your hair and decide to use it to his advantage.
He approaches you with his usual blank expression, but he slightly hesitate in his steps which caught Robins attention. You smile noticing his presence.
-What brings you here! Wanna play?
You ask him as you show him quickly the pack of cards in your hands with your infamous grin.
-Nah, I’m good. You..you did something new with your hair?
-Oh, yeah! You noticed? Robin said it looked good.
You reply in an excited tone as you touch your hair.
-Yeah, you’re pretty.
-Thanks! I appreciate it
You say with a slight blush due to the compliment, but an awkward silence falls. Zoro stays silent for a moment as he thinks of what he could ad to the conversation but you open your mouth first.
- By the way,..umm I'm sorry about yesterday, i hope it wasn't something important?
You trail avoiding to stare at him as you remember how you embarrassingly ran away too nervous to talk to him. When he pulled you to the side, his eyes staring deeply into yours, you felt like you couldn't breath for a moment. You didn't want him to obviously figure out you like him...
Robin gazes at Zoro before looking at you a small teasing smirk appearing on her lips.
-Oh...Yeah...I was hoping to talk to you, but...uh.
He says as his face gets red. He clearly hates the facts that Robin is here enjoying the little show while you are still oblivious to his advances.
-It can wait
-We can talk now if you want. We were done with our game anyway.
-I have to do something first, but you can meet me in the crow-nest in about 5 minutes?
He lies trying to give himself some time to think about what he's going to say. You nod agreeing with your usual smile that he loves so much.
-Alright then see ya
You watch him leave, curious about what he wants to speak with you. You shrug your shoulders ready to leave too, but Robin is looking at you with a small teasing smirk.
-What?
-Nothing~
She retorts sweetly before waving you off.
++++
The dark sky slowly sets over the head of the Strawhats as the delicious smell of the food fills everyone nostrils. You enter your room to put away your card and as you are about to leave, you take a moment to breath. You didn't notice how nervous you are until you felt your breath getting a little shaky.
Arrived at the location, you open the door and see him sat not too far from the window. He’s looking away but as he notices your presence, he invites you to sit besides him.
-The food smells good
You say breaking the silence. He nods and looks outside again. At around the same moment, an insect fly inside and run directly in your face, making you panic a little. Zoro is quick to catch it and throw it away, making sure you are fine at the same time.
-You’re okay?
-Yeah, it’s just a small insect, I'm good.
-Wait
He gets closer to you and clumsily fix your hair with the use of his fingers.
-Cool
He concludes with a small satisfied smile as he finishes placing your hair. You look up at him with a blush, eyes connecting with his. Zoro clears his throat as he leans back while you stare at your nervous fingers. Your heart is pounding in your chest as you stare now at your friend.
-So, what did you want to talk about?
You see him hesitate as he opens his mouth but close it quickly. His gaze shift from you to the view outside. He sighs and with a blush spread on his tanned cheeks, he finally speaks.
-I like you
Your eyes widen at his sudden confession, not expecting this at all. You furrow your eyebrows as your hand naturally covers your pounding heart.
-What??Since when!?
You ask completely confused. He chuckles a little astonished to your true shock to his confession. You really didn't notice his flirting tactics.
-I thought I made it obvious
-No?? How??
-Uh...with compliments.
-Zoro...
-I don't compliment anyone like the cook, I genuinely think you are pretty.
You gasp a little hiding your face in your hands, half of you not believing this is real and half of you realizing the cause of his strange behavior. You let your hands fall on your laps as you giggle.
-You're so bad at flirting
You joke to try to calm yourself down. Both of you start laughing as he admits it with a nod.
-You are so dense though
-Pfff, not at all
-You clearly can't take a hint
-Wha-
-Y/N SWANNNN, It's time to eat!
You are interrupted by Sanji's scream that startle you a little.
-Look like dinner is ready
Zoro concludes as he prepares himself to stand up, but you quickly grab his forearm pulling him down. You close the distance and give him a quick kiss on his cheek. He looks at you surprised, but he slowly start to smile.
-I like you too

WISH UPON A STAR FT. SCARAMOUCHE ! cws: best friends, mutual pining, requited, fluff, modern au, teens, gn!reader notes: guess what they wished for. this has been in my drafts since forever. so sorry about that. masterlist | moonflower masterlist taglist: @ainnofinway @lovemari @lily-lmao @aethion
it was friday and it was usually the days where you and scaramouche hang out and relax from school, which is almost always turn into a sleepover. both of you were in his room, underneath a blanket fort. leaning on scaramouche's shoulder, you yawned, "scara, did you know it's going to have a meteor shower tonight?"
he shrugged you off, your head hitting the pillow besides his torso, "really?" he liked how you didn't mind that your head hit the pillow, instead resting nicely on his shoulder. he didn't want you to know that he actually liked it.
you nodded your head, boring your eyes into his indigo lensed ones. he turned around quickly, ignoring your gaze as his ears burned. "when?"
"around 11:50, i think." ignoring his antics, you answered, smiling. "i hope we would see it by then, if your mom lets us."
"don't worry, she will."
he replied quickly as you furrowed your brow, "are you sure? how would we even see them?" as long as you could remember his mother is protective over him, but luckily, not to a point where she's overbearing. regardless, she hates when scaramouche gets rebellious which is bad for her since he likes to rebel whenever he can. you try your best to prevent it, but you end up wrapped into whatever he wants to do.
his answer was blunt, as sharp as a newly forged sword, "sunroof."
you scrunched up your face, scaramouche likes when you do that. it's funny to see your reaction to his seemingly careless replies. "the sun roof? seriously?"
it's clear that you aren't taking him seriously, maybe it's time to amp it up a bit.
he confirmed it and took it a bit further by crawling out of the fort to point up. he could hear the blankets rustle behind him while you crawled out of the fort from the tiny opening. looking where he was pointing at, you wanted to cry. despite his family being rich, his mom liked to spend it rarely, making sure it goes to the right places, which is smart. she is smart but man, how could you guys even see the stars from this one-by-one square?
well, not really one-by-one, but it's big but not big enough to see every star that's possible to see with the human eyes. you wanted to cry but instead you turned around, hearing scaramouche's chuckles. "did you really believe me?"
your frown pressed into a thin smile, "what?" you were in disbelief because not only did he lie, he's laughing at you. wow, rubbing salt in the wound is really cruel.
he liked to pull pranks or jokes on you because your reactions are almost always funny to watch. but seeing the doubt set into your face, it made him feel a bit guilty. so he decided to uplift your spirits instead."im lying! of course, i won't make you watch it from this window because this-" he drew a rectangle with his fingers. "- is too small for you. when it's around the time, let me know and i'll show you how we'd watch it."
"what?"
"i just know a place."
when he said, 'i just know a place', you didn't expect it to be on the roofs of the house and how you got there? you don't even know nor remember. it kind of just happened within a blink of an eye.
scaramouche was chuckling to himself quietly as you looked at him, dumbfounded. no one in this house ever discovered that he had dug up tunnels and pathways in secret. so of course, he had a pathway to go up the roof. is this really true?
kind of. mikoto figured it out it was him but despite it, she never tattletale on him so it's technically a secret. if you ask him why he did it, he'd just smirk but in reality, he was a devoted liv and maddie fan.
you two sat on the roof, where scaramouche laid out a blanket for the both of you. scaramouche threw up pillows in which you caught, "are you comfortable?"
"as comfortable as a person can be on a roof."
"good enough." scaramouche replied, climbing up and adjusting the corners of the roof. you're just happy that he didn't make you sit on the slanted roof but instead, where he had his hideout on the flattest part of the roof.
you took two of the pillows and set them down. scaramouche immediately hogged both of them as you frowned, "that was two for two of people sitting here..." you pointed to yourself and then him. "two people, scara. me and you."
"...uh huh, i'm following?"
"you're insufferable." you replied as your face lit up. "wait."
"what? what are you doing? you're making me scared."
you pretended to stretch your back as you declined on him, resting full body weight on scaramouche. "humph! what are you doing??"
"you're a hogger, you know that? this is what you get and you can't push me off." you said, expecting him to fight back or roll you off gently. but instead, you hear,
"fine. what time is it?" thank god, he changed the subject because you wouldn't have known how to continue it after he agreed with your antics for once. "around 11:40."
"good, we can wait out here then."
"good..." you glanced everywhere but where he was. "scara, i don't think your roof may not be the safest place for us to stargaze." you said, recalling your complaint from earlier.
scaramouche lifted himself up as he watched for you if you fell, his hand near your head in case you did. "either this or the sunroof."
"thank you for blessing me with the opportunity to see this beautiful night sky, scara!" you replied quickly as he hid his chuckle.
waiting for ten minutes just to pass away is taking forever, scaramouche thought as he annoyed you by poking you. it was easier to just watch paint dry than wait for the incoming meteor shower. but he looked at you while you began to fight back with his poking by poking him back, it was worth it.
"scara! the stars!" you jolted up as scaramouche pulled you back into his embrace. when you turned to his face, he explained, "i don't want you to fall down and die. i don't want to be linked to your death, how would i go to the ivy league colleges now?"
"uh huh."
but did you really care? no... you rested your head against his chest, noticing how his heartbeat was increasing. you wanted to make fun of him, but you didn't want him to notice so was yours; you kept your mouth shut.
you asked, as he was tapping your arm, "scara, isn't the stars so beautiful?"
scaramouche agreed with you but not for reasons you may think. as you looked at the stars, he looked at you.
"wait, scara! wish on the stars."
"that's so childish."
"but i heard they come true!"
"... fine but im not doing it because you said so."
"i know, don't worry."

Slay the Dragon
Papa Arc: Son… The time has come. The infamous Yellow Dragon has been terrorizing our village for far too long.
Jaune: I hear you, father. I have been training my whole life for this.
Papa Arc: Indeed, you have. Take the family sword. You shall honor the oath you took and slay that foul creature.
Jaune: I will see that it is done, father. *Takes his leave*
Papa Arc: Now, hold on a minute. *Grabs his shoulder*
Jaune: Yes, father?
Papa Arc: Before you go, I want to make one thing very clear. I said Slay. Not Lay.
Jaune: …Yeah, I got it the first time.
Papa Arc: Slay, son. Not lay, not laid, not bang, not bed, not consummate, not taking her out for dinner. I want you to KILL that dragon.
Jaune: Father, I don’t-
Papa Arc: It’s a giant DRAGON for heaven’s sake. That monster is responsible for wiping out dozens of villages a year and has killed far more people than you will ever meet in your entire life. So PLEASE! Don’t waste your breath trying to woo that blasted creature!
Jaune: Dad, I’m seriously not gonna-
Papa Arc: I cannot stress how much we need that bitch dead, and the very last thing we need is for you to try and stick your dick in it!
Jaune: D-DAD!
Papa Arc: I want you to take this sword and plunge into the beast’s heart! Chop it into pieces if you must! Don’t stop until the life has left its eyes!
Jaune: ALRIGHT, GEESH! *Calms down* For the last time, I’m not gonna seduce the dragon or anything. I don’t even know where you got that idea from.
Papa Arc: I just want to make sure you understand what I’m saying.
Jaune: Father, I’m not one of those dragon-lovin’ degenerates from the southern islands, okay? You don’t have to worry about that.
Papa Arc: Glad to hear it. *Clears throat* Go forward, son. Make your ancestors proud.
Jaune: Yeah, yeah… *Finally leaves*
Papa Arc: Phew! Crisis averted. Ain’t that right, honey?
Mama Arc: It’s not gonna work, Nicky.
Papa Arc: What makes you say that?
Mama Arc: Take a good look. *Shows her dragon tail* I still can’t believe you convinced our son I’m a lizard Faunus.
Papa Arc: So what if I got lucky and got myself a wife because I couldn’t read instructions properly?! I could’ve been killed! I don’t want Jaune to make the same mistake and risk getting scorched to death.
Mama Arc: I don’t know, Taiyang’s spawn did seem very lonely last I checked. And that was 20 years ago.
Papa Arc: Well, then Taiyang’s spawn shall find plenty of companionship in the fiery pits of hell. For our boy Jaune will not rest until the Yellow Dragon’s life has been claimed by the sacred Crocea Mors-
[}}]
Yang: S’up, in-laws! I’ve been meaning to meet you guys. Huge fan of your work here. *Slaps Jaune’s back*
Jaune: *red* Yang, please…
Papa Arc: *Disgruntled noises*
Mama Arc: Oh, you must be our boy’s fiancé he wrote about. Come now sweetie, let me show you around the house.
Yang: You got it, mom! Can’t wait to meet my new sisters. Later, hubby~
Papa Arc: Jaune… What did I tell you?
Jaune: Tell me what?
Papa Arc: The thing we discussed? Before parting on your quest?
Jaune: What thing- Oh. Ooohhh……
Papa Arc: Do you have anything to say for yourself, young man?
Jaune: *Hand on the back of his head* I guess it slipped out of my mind…?
Papa Arc: Oh, something did slip, alright.
Jaune: It-It’s nothing like that! It all happened so fast, and-! Look, she’s on the run from a whole evil cult or some shit and I wondered if you and mom could let her crash here for a few weeks.
Papa Arc: And you didn’t think the neighbors would suspect anything from the blond girl with dragon horns waltzing around our house?
Jaune: I don’t know, I just figured we could tell everyone she’s a Faunus. Just like mom.
Papa Arc: *Wincing* About that, son…

Heeyyy!! Lol, sorry if this came out a little short, I didn't have much time. Plus I'm sorry if I'm doing this incorrectly, i'm still very new to tumblr. Also, this one will have sugestive themes (not flat out smut lmao), so watch out if you're not comfortable with those. And sorry for the possible spelling mistakes too lol
Like swimming in the sunset /part two/
Mizu felt an aching in her head when her eyes opened once again, one she grew quite familiar with over her journey. She reached for her sword out of instinct, but it wasn't at her hip. She tried sitting up quickly, maybe even too quickly as a sharp pain striked into her side. Her vision was blurry as she glanced around the room, and took in it's emptiness. A sudden bitter, but kind of calming feeling washed over her as she recognized the room she grew up in. It was the same, which made a small tinge of relief awaken in her heart. She noticed her sword was lying next to the futon she was sitting on, and quickly gripped it as she weakly stood up and stumbled out of the house. Outside, she was met with Taigen chatting with...a familiar figure.
You.
Mizu felt a pang in her chest. It was...strange, seeing you after so long. Question flood through her head. First off, you were alive, which made her feel relieved, but on the other hand...she hasn't seen you for years, and she knows how people change. She remembers how you were, but are you still that kid she grew so close to? She stood there for a couple moments before Taigen notcied her and gave her a scoff. You turned in her direction too, and for the first time in so long, Mizu felt...nervous. She felt the tips of her fingers numbing, her blood pumping slightly, and she had to gulp. When you saw her your lips curled into a small smile...a sweet one. That same smile that brightened her days all those years ago.
You looked different. Your features matured, your skin had a different tint from the sunlight, your form grew taller and your eyes...well, those stayed very familiar to Mizu. Warm...they were still warm.
"Mizu," You stepped forward and said gently. Your voice changed a little bit too, and even though it shouldn't have surprised her, you grew up, it did. "You woke up. What a relief." You said, putting your weight onto one leg, and a lighthearted smile. Mizu just lowered her gaze and shrugged a little.
"You need more to take me down." She said and she stepped forwad, which you rewarded with a small chuckle. She took a better look at what you two were doing, and it seemed like you were about to light a campfire. There were coal stains on your fingers...the same fingers she never let do hard work back in the day... and there were stains on Taigen's haori too, on his shoulder...was it because you touched his shoulder? Was it affectionately, or was it a playful bump? Did you smiled at him as you did it? Was is the sweet smile she always gets?
Mizu had to shake her head to shoo those thoughs away. Was she so overwhelmed to get lost in details like this? She never thought like this, so why now...
"Taigen told me he knew you when you were small." You say with a small smile, and shoot Taigen an eye roll. Mizu shrudders at this. Like Taigen would ever talk about her with compassion, and just the thought of the you hearing that spiteful talk that came out of his mouth about her...Mizu clenched her teeth as she showed both of you aside to crouch down and start lighting the campfire.
You softly sighed, and crouched next to her, and after reaching into your kimono, you opened your palm to her, revealing...a piece of candy. This flooded Mizu's mind with memories of you and her sharing candy, and the fact that candy was the reason she managed to "reconcile" with you when you two were kids. She cracked a half smile and took the candy, popping it into her mouth.
Taigen broke the moment with a clearing of his throat. "I...am also glad you woke up. I was starting to expect you died or something." He says, but not maliciously this time...it was even a little playful. "I need you in the best condition, so that I can beat you with honor." He says and he scoffs, and Mizu just rolls her eyes in response but she herself cracks a small smile. As Taigen busies himself with cutting wood, Mizu takes a deep breath and speaks up.
"I thought you were dead." She says, deadpan. This draws a bitter smile from you.
"I thought I was gonna die too." You say softly, like it's no bid deal. Like the whole thing didn't ruin her years. "But now I'm here." You say, moving your gaze to the sparks flying between Mizu's hand she lights the fire. You hear her sigh again. "You're just as grumpy as I remember." You try to joke, in hopes of lighting the mood.
"When did you get back?" She asks, unfazed by your attempt.
"When I arrived Grandpa Eiji told me that you just left, and that could mean anything." You say lightheartedly. It came to Mizu's attention that you took things more easy now. You haven't puffed, or shied away. "He told me you went on a quest. Honestly I was quite happy." You say, as you sit down in the cold grass, because your knees went tired from crouching.
Happy? Mizu's eyes squinted at her own hands. Why were you happy that she left? Were you relieved that you didn't have to face her? Did you want her to keep believing that you're dead?
"I knew you went on to calm something inside you. I always thought that you will one day, so I was relieved I wasn't there for the bitter goodbyes." You says, her smile softening into something genuine.
At that, Mizu cracked a smile. "If you would've been there, you would've begged me to stay." She says, glancing at you, and the gilnt in her eyes is a little smug. Almost cocky.
"Maybe." You shrug. "But I know your quest is not done." You sigh and lean back on your arms, looking at the sky, which is uncommonly clear. "You will leave once again, won't you?"
Mizu looks back at her hands, and blows on the sparks, giving life to the fire. After some moments of silence, she speaks up, stoic once more. "I have to. I will not rest until I finish what I started."
You snicker. "Yeah, I know that. You're as stubborn as ever." You say, playfully tapping her knee with yours. "But that's alright. You'll survive, and then you'll come back." You say confidently.
"I will?" It slips out from Mizu's lips withouth thinking.
"You will." You answer withouth hesitation. "After all," You start as your eyes meet hers. "They need much more to take you down."
That draws a small smile from Mizu, one you return. The following moments are spent with you and her just looking at eachother, and all she sees is your smile. It's a vulnerable moment for Mizu, something she always manages to avoid, but something is different now. She feels...something fluttering inside her. Something she felt long ago once, when she was by Mikio's side, but...this cannot be the same. Even if you don't know that, she is a woman, just like you. You were her family back in the day, almost like a sister so why...why is she longing to feel your touch so suddenly?
Sure, she always liked to be near you, but that was nothing out of the ordinary, since you were the first kid to be nice to her, and her first ever friend. Does she feel for you as she'd feel for a true friend? Not like she'd ever know how to feel for a true friend, this is her first time, but...it still bothers her. You move in and out of her life on a whim, how does she know she will see you again once you get out of her sight once more? And she remembers where that fluttering feeling took her when she had a husband, so it wouldn't be wise to embrace it again. You probably won't even return it, since even if you did...you would be for the man she's pretending to be.
And she's pulled out of her train of thought when you stand up from next to her. "Your friend is nice." You say suddenly, wanting to change the topic. Mizu's brows furrow. "You mean Taigen?" She asks, scoffing.
"No, no. Ringo." You say with a chuckle. "He's very skilled. He helped me make dinner yesterday, and he is currently chopping vegetables for today's meal." You say, nudging your head towards Ringo, who is chopping vegetables on a log. That leaves a bitter taste in Mizu's mouth, remembering how Ringo is still mad at her...or even hates her entirely. "Yeah...he's useful." She murmurs, and goes to throw wood at the fire while glancing at your form as you walk away. She sees you kneel beside him and show him how to peal carrots in a more efficent way, and she...isn't sure how to feel.
Mizu expected almost everything at this point in her journey, but the last thing she thought will happen...is that she'll be in war with her own emotions.
She spends the rest of the day quietly, just...watching things happen in silence. She sees Taigen sitting next to you at dinner, and how you two giggle together. She hates seeing it. It's not like she hates seeing you giggle, she just...hates seeing you giggle with him. Taigen is a moron, why can't you see that? Plus, you only known him for like a day and a half so...why are you talking to him, not Mizu, the one who's your actualy childhood friend?
The next day, after staring at her broken sword for a couple minutes, and thinking about how to ask Eiji to help her make a new one, she heads outside, and she sees you with Ringo. You're making new bands for his stumps, so he could hold things better, and she sees you smiling at him softly as you do. You're caring, that one she knew ever since she was 13 years old...but for some reason, she thought you were only this caring towards her. It burns her insides seeing you act so sweet towards others...men, to be specific. Mizu knows you also see her as a man, but knowing you're also this tender with people who could actually be love interests in your life...people who'd be normal if you wanted to marry, or...people who could possibly please you...it's eating Mizu alive for some reason.
She can't be acting like this, she needs to cool her head. So, she decides to go and have a bath.
There is a warm water source near by, one she used to visit a lot when she was a child. She heads there, and before making sure that nobody is near, she slips out of her clothes and submerges her body into the water. She feels her wounds sting for a minute, but she quickly gets used to it, and leans back against a rock. It's peaceful. She looks down at her wounds, and they're treated nicely. The deep ones are swen together, and the burns are bandaged with care. She knows this a work of your hand, you probbaly did it while she was unconcious...you always treated her this softly when you were kids too.
As she sits there, her eyes slowly fluttering closed, she suddenly sees you behind her eyelids. How would it be like if you were here with her? She never saw your...body before. Do you have scars on your delicate skin? Do you have birthmarks on your back?
Is your skin as soft as she imagines it to be? How would it feel if you...touched her, with that precious hand of yours? Maybe...maybe you'd slowly glide your hand along her jawline, down her neck, across her collarbones...Maybe you'd pay close attention to her scars, and caress them one by one, trace them with your fingertips. Maybe you'd even place your soft lips on one of them... Mizu shivers. She feels so...wrong thinking about this, but it's certainly hard to stop. She hates it that even just this mental image makes her a little happy.
Her imagination forces even more pictures about you into her head, no matter how much she tries to protest. She sees you slowly moving closer, placing yourself in her lap as you two sit in the water. Oh, how nicely you'd fit there...and how soft you'd feel. She'd place her hands on your waist, maybe even let them slip lower to your hips and thighs as you'd play with her hair and push your body against hers, your breasts meeting hers while her hands would circle around your thighs, slowly finding-
Mizu sugmerges her face and lets out a loud scream into the water. What is she even doing? How could she let herself sink this low? Oh, she can just see the look on your face if you'd ever found out about her thinking like this...you'd be utterly disgusted! She needs to be rid of these thoughs anyways, she needs to snap her mind back to her quest. She'll leave this place as soon as her wounds heal, so it would be foolish to get comfortable here...even if it's temping.
But now, she has something that will motivate her to actually come back from her journey one day.

Lord Ushijima Wakatoshi [2 - end]
Thank you for all your patience with me. I hope you all are having a great start to the year, cheers to many more smut lol I have like two stories I didn't finish for the Daddies in December trope that I might still post them - I think there's still Itachi & Shisui (together) and Shikamaru.
Warning: angst, violence, fluff, smut, this is long because I didn't want to write a 3rd part
.
Y/n’s fingers tighten around the teacup as she brings it to her lips. Her favorite blend of tea she normally loved to drink on a rainy night tasted bitter yet bland to her tongue.
As she expected, there was nothing to sharpen on an already sharp sword. She set it along with the other swords for Maru’s father to deliver to the owner.
The rain poured heavily with thunder and lightning, the sky darker than usual.
Y/n’s intuition told her it was a sign.
She knew Captain, after serving several years beside him, she knew how he operated, how he hunted.
Dropping off his most prized possession, the sword, clearly indicated that he had tracked her down.
Why though?
Was he there to recruit her back into the Corps?
. .
The sword was sitting on the stand when she entered her sanctuary the following morning.
“Oh, you arrived early today,” Maru’s father greeted, “I forgot to tell you that the sword's owner requested you to deliver it to him. I hope you won’t be too busy this morning to do so.”
Y/n shook her head, “I can do that.” She approached the sword and reached for it, turning her heels to head towards the address scribbled on the note.
.
Y/n stared at the closed gates of the compound that had no listed clan name outside the wall.
She wonders if Wakatoshi is temporarily staying in this compound. It was much too large for one person.
Her knuckles come into contact with the gates, knocking softly.
“Coming,” a female voice calls from the other side.
The wooden door cracks open and an elderly woman smiles, “you must be Y/n-san?”
Y/n bowed, holding Wakatoshi’s sword outward, “I’ve come to return Lord Ushijima’s sword.”
“Oh, please come in, he is waiting for you.”
Y/n’s breath hitched, she knew she wouldn’t get away with just dropping his sword off without facing him. She followed quietly into the compound.
Her eyes bulge at the sight of the neat courtyard. The path they were walking on led them straight to the main house where she slid open a door, “my Lord will be with you shortly.” The door was slid closed after her.
In the middle of the room was a table with two cushions on each side. On the table were two tea cups and a tea kettle with freshly brewed tea.
Y/n took a seat on one side, setting the sword beside her, and waited patiently.
She zoned out before she heard a soft knock and the door slid open. She turned her head and her eyes widened as they connected with his.
Wakatoshi looked completely different. It was less than five times that she’d seen him wear something aside from his Corp uniform. In front of her stood a figure draped in a black kimono, with his bangs almost covering his eyes.
“Y/n,” he called softly. He entered the room and closed the door behind him, she watched as he took the spot across from her. His eyes never left hers.
Her heartbeat skipped but she kept her composure. “Captain.”
Wakatoshi shook his head, “I am no longer Captain.”
He explained everything that had happened after she left abruptly.
Y/n exhaled softly. She never thought he would ever resign, let alone leave the life he had known.
“What will you be doing now?” She asked, hand tightening on the sword in her hand. Her eyes widen, remembering it. Quickly, she lifts his sword to him, “here is your sword.”
He gently accepted it from her, setting it on the floor behind him. A soft smile graced his lips, “I have come a long way to find you..” He reached across the table, his thicker and longer fingers touching hers. “You left me without a word.”
Her fingers gently graze against his. Y/n remembers threading her fingers with his during their most intimate moments. She quickly withdrew her hand into her lap. “I don’t… I don’t understand why you would come this far to find me?”
Wakatoshi stared at her longingly before sighing, “I am here to take responsibility.” He raised his eyes to hers again, “I have wronged you and I want to make things right. All a person like me can offer you is owning up and taking responsibility for my actions.”
“Your actions?”
Wakatoshi frowned, not sure he understood the iciness in her tone. “Yes, my actions. I need to take responsibility for you, your body, and your dignity. Does that not please you?”
Y/n finally replied quietly after looking at a distance. “No, that does not please me. You owe me nothing, you do not need to take any responsibility. Please return.” She stood up and exited the room.
. .
Lord Ushijima did not return.
Y/n glared at him as he smiled politely as Maru’s father gave him a tour of the shop. “This is Y/n, you may have already met her as she is our sword sharpener. And over here is where you’ll be,” he continued to lead Wakatoshi down the corridors.
She would collaborate with Wakatoshi, who is tasked with crafting swords – a laborious and physically demanding responsibility.
Turning her heels, she shut the door to her sanctuary and began her day.
The shop closes for one hour at noon for lunch. Maru’s mother is in charge of making every day’s meal and everyone was to report to the dining room promptly.
Y/n glared with narrowed eyes as Wakatoshi occupied the seat to her right, a spot typically reserved for Maru. Maru, entering last, was surprised to find his usual seat taken. Nevertheless, he swiftly smiled and settled down on her left side.
“Itadakimasu.” They all said in unison.
Y/n and Wakatoshi both reached for their chopsticks simultaneously, their elbows inadvertently colliding due to his left-handedness and her right-handedness.
“Oh!” Maru’s mother giggles, “Wakatoshi, why don’t you and Maru switch spots since you are a lefty?”
Maru was about to reach for his bowl and get up when Wakatoshi politely declined, “it is okay, I will eat with my right hand.”
They all watched him switch hands and began eating.
Y/n looked away, fixating on her bowl of rice, her thoughts drifting. Her mind remained preoccupied with the fact that Wakatoshi, her Captain, was in the same village and seated beside her.
She frowned when a piece of grilled salmon was placed on her rice, prompting her to turn and glance at the person to her right. Wakatoshi, however, continued eating as if it were not a significant matter.
.
Four weeks later, Wakatoshi proved to be an expert welder and demonstrated his mastery as a skilled welder. With his strength and knowledge, he has shaped a new distinctive style of swords that has attracted swordsmen from both nearby and distant villages, eager to explore and acquire blades crafted by Lord Ushijima, the famous Shiratorizawa Captain.
It was more in demand that these blades were further perfected by the renowned artisan Y/n, known for her exceptional sharpening and refining skills.
One last one, she told herself, for the nth time. Each time, she would grab another sword without realizing it. She took pride in her work and products, and once she initiated the process, she was determined to persist, recognizing that halting would disrupt the momentum of sharpening a sword.
It was one late evening when the shop had already closed down for the day, leaving her as the sole occupant. Typically, Maru would linger around to provide company, but after four failed attempts, he realized it was futile; as she was too engrossed in her work to engage in even a brief conversation with him.
Her hands came to a stop as her instincts were triggered, swiftly detecting the unfamiliar presence. The footsteps of at least six were too quiet and skilled.
Reaching underneath her table, she slowly pulled out the small knives she had hidden. As soon as she saw the shadow of one, with a flick of her wrists, aiming at the intruder.
In the blink of an eye, Y/n had another small katana at the throat of the intruder. “Move and I will slice your throat.” Pulling off the head covering, Y/n didn’t recognize the face. “Who are you and what business do you have breaking in?”
The man showed no fear except pain in his thigh which she had targeted.
She pressed the katana to his throat, breaking the skin. “Speak.” She looked at the others, there were six of them with covered faces. They all drew their swords, ready to attack.
Digging the knife in his thigh deeper, he cried out in anguish. She pushed the man forward, forcing the other men to retreat but kept their defense up.
They reached outside to the front of the shop where Y/n calculated how she would take them all down. “Are you their leader?” There was no response, and Y/n chuckled, “I’ll take your silence as a wish for your death.” She ripped the small knife out from his thigh, growling, “and guarantee that you shall never raise a sword again!” With swift and precise motion, the knife severed crucial ligaments.
The five men charged at her as she kicked the man in her hold down but before she could draw the sword she had strapped behind her back she was surprised with the sudden appearance of seven other men she was familiar with.
Her old team.
With each of the five intruders apprehended by Reon, Satori, Eita, Tsutomu, and Yu. Kenjiro and Wakatoshi stepped out from the shadows.
The stern, icy expression on his face was the same one she remembered.
.
The intense silent gaze from Y/n unsettled all the men present, except for Wakatoshi, who remained completely unperturbed by her piercing stare.
They all sat before her in her small home after they apprehended the men who broke into the shop. Wakatoshi handed them off to the authorities who had been searching for these highly skilled bandits.
Maru and his family came on-site, devastated at the news their shop had been broken into. Thankfully it was minor interior damage and was something they could fix up easily within a few days.
“What are you all doing here?” Y/n finally asked.
Every face in the room turned to look at Wakatoshi, waiting for him to answer.
“They have also relocated as well.”
Y/n inhaled deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I’m sure you guys are not stationed here?” They had no business in this town.
“We’ve all resigned as well,” Reon answered, “and followed Captain here to find you.” He smiles softly at her, “we missed you Y/n.”
Any frustration within her bones faded, Y/n couldn’t stay mad even if she pretended to. “I missed you all too.” She stepped forward and gave each of them a hug.
After all, this was her team for many years.
.
Everyone but Wakatoshi left, he remained, leaning against the wall.
Y/n glanced at him and then at the gates to her compound, she raised a brow at him. “It is late…”
It was past midnight, she had too much catching up with her teammate, losing track of time in the process.
“Can I have a word with you?” Wakatoshi approached her and stopped until he stood in front of her. He was always aware of their height difference, but he never realized how much smaller she was to him.
His breath hitched as his lower region tightened and memories reminded him how she felt when she came around his thick cock.
“Are you… okay?” She reached up to cup his suddenly flushed cheeks.
In an instant, she recognized her actions and pulled back her hand, but Wakatoshi was quicker. He caught her and held her hand, pressing her small palm against his cheek, feeling the stubble on his unshaven chin and cheeks from the past day.
He leaned into her touch and closed his eyes, a soft sigh escaped his lip as he felt recharged instantly.
“Y/n,” Wakatoshi groan in half pain and half frustration, “I’m – I’m no good at this…” He opened his eyes, they burned with dark desire, gazing deeply into hers. “I’m learning and I’m good with anything I put my heart and mind into but this, I’m no good with love. I’ve never loved before so I don’t know how to, or what to do. I don’t know – I don’t know how to make you love me like how I love you.”
“What?” it barely came out as a whisper.
“All my life, I had no trouble accomplishing anything I put my heart and mind to but showing you how I feel about you has been the one damn hardest thing I am struggling with.” He closed the remaining distance between them. He reached to cup her face with his large palm, “I don’t know how to express my love to you with words, I’ve never been good with words.” Wakatoshi’s eyes darkened, “I didn’t realize how pathetic I have been showing you with my body… with our bodies.” He looked away, embarrassed.
It did not dawn on him until he sought guidance from Reon and Satori. They scold him for his lack of knowledge with a woman.
“Do you think taking her to your chambers almost every time is going to show her that you care for her?” Satori gasped after hearing his Captain’s explain their history. “She probably thinks you were just using her for her body for your pleasure.”
Wakatoshi gasped lightly, the thought never crossed his mind. That was never his intention. He began seeing his actions from a different perspective and groaned painfully as he felt like a complete thoughtless being. Now he understood her reactions and words.
He kept digging himself into a deeper hole each time.
“Apologize to her, clarify to her what you truly meant because I’m pretty sure, she is thinking that you were only using her body all this time.” Satori had more experience with women than the others on the team. “She probably thinks you didn’t care about the baby either.”
“That’s not true!” Wakatoshi roared, “I may not have known but it didn’t mean I wasn’t devastated… when I wrapped my head around it… it was already too late.” His shoulders dropped, “Y/n lost our baby and I was losing her…” he paused, “and at this point, I lost her.”
“It took me losing you to recognize my feelings for you,” he swallows, “I have loved you for a long time, just never realized it. You had always been by my side for many years but when that changed, I am nothing without you when you are not beside me.” Wakatoshi pressed his lips to the crown of her head before gazing down at her with soft eyes once again, “please forgive me for my lack of knowledge and past actions. I want to do better, I want to be better for you.”
Y/n’s eyes filled with tears before she surprised him, throwing her arms around him and burying her face against his broad chest.
All the tension he felt expelled out of his body the moment her arms wrapped around his waist. He let out a soft sigh and wrapped his arms around her.
Y/n pulled away to look up at him, “I have been in love with you for many years too but I was too afraid of my feelings because I never felt them before and I didn’t want to risk ruining our friendship we had…” A tear slips from the corner of her eye, “I too want to do better, be better for you too.”
.
Y/n blinks away sleep, her eyes adjusting to the scene in front of her. A frown appears on her face before the memories resurface – a few hours ago, she reunited with Wakatoshi. She can’t recall the details of how they ended up in her chamber, but after a long and eventful day, they drifted off to sleep, embracing each other.
His facial features were relaxed and soft making him look younger.
While awake, Wakatoshi consistently wore a single expression. Only a select few, those close to him, had witnessed him smile or laugh. However, Y/n was the sole person who had glimpsed everything he had concealed within.
Y/n, typically unselfish, couldn’t suppress a sense of greed and delight at being the only one who had seen the handful of expressions displayed by Wakatoshi.
A lewd memory of Wakatoshi’s grimace expression came to mind when he came inside her. His mouth hung open, eyes tightly closed, and breath coming in pants.
As if he sensed her impure thoughts about him, Wakatoshi’s eyes opened, staring right into hers.
Y/n quickly turned her head, cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
His strong arms tightened around her, bringing her even closer to him. His nose pressed into her neck as he pressed a kiss against the skin. “Why are you shy now?”
Y/n squirms in his arms, turning her back towards him. “N – nothing…”
A low hum vibrates from his throat before he rolls above her, careful of his weight on her. He reached and gripped her chin gently, forcing her to look at him. With a better view of her face, he smiles warmly. “Morning, my love.” It was all still new to him, but expressing his love for her was all coming naturally to him. “I hope you slept as well as I did.” He leans down and presses his lips against hers in a gentle kiss.
She couldn’t recall the last time she experienced such blissful sleep, enveloped and protected by the embrace of the one she loved.
Y/n’s hands that were trapped between their bodies wiggled their way to cup his face, bringing him in for a deeper and more passionate kiss.
Y/n knew she was in love with him after their first night. She was in love with him prior but always kept her feelings at bay, thinking they were comrades and love would only ruin the bond they shared.
Now that she could kiss him with her whole heart…
“Y/n!”
Their kiss broke abruptly as they both stared at the closed chamber door.
“Y/n! Are you home?”
.
“Thank you,” Y/n smiles, closing the gate. She let out a sigh of relief, it was her neighbor coming to check on her after the incident.
“Are you hurt at all?” The elderly lady asked with worry.
Y/n confirmed she was fine, assuring her kind and sweet neighbor she was free of harm.
Y/n quickly hurried inside her home where she found Wakatoshi waiting, leaning against the door frame.
His yukata bunched at his waist leaving his upper body bare.
Y/n’s eyes followed southwards… to the tent at his crotch.
A few minutes ago she had quickly tried to shove him off but the attempt was futile as Wakatoshi refused to budge.
“It’s fine, she’ll get the idea you might not be home if you don’t respond,” he leaned down to kiss her again but she dodged it, his lips pressing against her jaw.
Y/n almost giggled at this new side of him.
Whoever was at her gates was persistent, shouting her name.
Y/n continue to squirm, now smacking his shoulder to get off of her. “It is my neighbor, she’s probably worried!”
Groaning, Wakatoshi rolled off and watched in annoyance as Y/n hurried off to greet the unwelcome guest.
She left him in a state of discomfort.
“Come here,” he ordered softly.
Y/n fought the urge to smile, staying in her current position with hands clasped over her stomach. She shook her head, biting down on her lower lip.
Wakatoshi’s lips curved into a smile as he launched for her.
But Y/n was faster, running in the opposite direction.
“Y/n!”
After five minutes of cat and mouse chasing, Wakatoshi wrapped his long arms around her, enveloping her in a tight bear hug.
“Got you,” he murmured lowly, inhaling her addicting scent. “No more,” he whispers, “no more running from me, please.”
Turning around in his arms, Y/n snaked her hand to the back of his head, bringing it close to hers. “No more, I won’t run from you anymore.”
The contrast of their height and physique was remarkable, yet Wakatoshi didn’t mind it one bit.
She is lifted off the wooden floors, her legs wrapping around his waist, ankles locking.
“Good,” he carries her to her chamber. His eyes remained connected to hers, “you’re the most beautiful woman in my world.”
Y/n tightens her legs around his waist pressing herself against his cock.
He winced, eyes shutting and inhaling sharply. “You…” he opens his eyes, his pupils dilated. “I don’t want to hurt you…”
Her lips near his as she whispers, “you won’t, I know you won’t hurt me.”
He adjusts her weight in his arms, shifting her higher so he can look up to her. “Kiss me.”
Smiling broadly, she leaned down and pressed her lips softly against his.
Wakatoshi maneuvered her in his arms and laid her gently on the futon. His mouth continued to move hungrily over hers. His fingers found the knot that held her yukata together and pulled it loose. His palms slipped inside, pushing away the materials that covered her beautiful body.
“Ahh,” Y/n moaned when his palm groped her bosom. Her nipples immediately harden, perfect for his fingers to tweak. She watched as he took a nipple into his hot mouth. Her fingers threaded through his dark thick hair as she moaned his name.
He glanced up, releasing her nipple.
Y/n softly strokes his face, “Wakatoshi, make love to me.”
His lips formed a gentle smile, turning to kiss her palm. “As you wish, my love.”
Wakatoshi straightens and pushes off the only remaining piece of clothing on him. His cock sprang against his abdomen, long and thick. He reaches for Y/n’s hands and pulls her up against him before wrapping his arm around her back.
He kept his hot gaze on her while pushing her yukata off, discarding it aside. He adjusts her, having her kneel over his lap. His fingers seek in between her thighs, grazing her moistened lips before dipping a finger past her folds.
Wakatoshi presses his lips against her clavicle and nips the skin, “you’re so wet.”
Y/n hums, unknowingly rocking against his finger. She gasped when he added not one, but two fingers inside her drenched pussy.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes,” she breathed, “I’m always ready for you.”
Wakatoshi chuckled, heart fluttering around her words. His fingers are quickly replaced with this cock as he brings her hips slowly down onto his cock.
Y/n wraps her arms around his neck, hugging him close. Her breath shook as she feels her body split trying to accommodate his cock. “You’re – you’re so big…”
He rubs her lower back, cooing soothing words. “Relax, my love, you just forgot but you’ve taken me before… many times before… remember?”
Her hips bounced lightly and little by little, she was able to take more of him until he was fully embedded inside her. Looking between their bodies, she gasped lightly as her belly bulged slightly.
Wakatoshi kissed her cheek, whispering, “I’ll make sure you won’t ever forget…” His hands slipped beneath her bottom and began bouncing her on his cock.
Slapping skin on skin echoed throughout the room with her moans and his grunts.
Wakatoshi groaned against her neck before he pushed her down on her back and shifted above her to continue pounding deeply. His massive sacks thump repeatedly against her bottom, sparking her near orgasm.
“Toshi…” Y/n moaned, tenderly staring into his eyes, “cum inside me… cum inside me, my love…”
Lost with words, Wakatoshi fasten his hips, hammering his thick cock until he was quivering in a release as he stuffed her pussy full of his cum.
“My love…” he whispered repeatedly. He towers over Y/n and presses his lips to her forehead, nose, and lips. “I love you… you are my world.” The heavenly smile she gave him was all he needed for the rest of his life.
“I love you too.”
He swallowed the lump in his throat, “I put my seed inside you…”
Y/n giggles, “I know…”
The corner of his lips itch to smile, “will you have my child again?” He sees the pain in her eyes and he chews on his lower lip before speaking again, “we will always remember the child we lost. This time, I will be there for you, every step of the way.”
.
Their shop resumed four days later. Wakatoshi and Y/n appeared at the shop hand in hand.
“Oh my,” Maru’s mother whispered, hands pressed together. Her shocked look immediately softened as she smiled, “we will still be a family, right?”
“If it will be all right with you all,” Y/n answers softly, looking at Maru’s mother and father and then lastly at Maru. His eyes were still staring at Y/n and Wakatoshi’s tightly intertwined fingers.
Maru sighed softly before smiling, yet his eyes revealed a sense of disappointment. “I knew you had someone else in your heart.” He looks up at Wakatoshi and with a firm tone, “promise me you will take good care of her.”
“I promise,” Wakatoshi replied, casting a warm look at Y/n.
. .
[Six months later]
Y/n wipes the sweat and dirt off her husband’s forehead as he finishes polishing the last sword of the day.
With the guidance and teaching of Y/n, he has learned the art and skill of sword sharpening. He has taken over her role for the time being.
After discovering she was with child, Y/n could not win against Wakatoshi, and Chigaya family members. She was forbidden to even sharpen a sword, let alone lift one.
“Well done,” Y/n murmurs sweetly, handing him the casing.
She was proud of her husband, who quickly became renowned as a sword sharpener.
With his focus off of work for the day, he turned his attention to his wife, pulling her into the space between his legs. He presses a kiss to her pregnant belly, “did you take your afternoon nap yet?”
“Yes, we did. I feel refreshed now.”
“My baby isn’t giving you a hard time, are they?” Wakatoshi has been nervous about this pregnancy, taking extra precautions. He even had Kenjiro moved next door for the time being to be closer in case of emergency.
Maru’s mother had reassured Wakatoshi that the minor issues Y/n was facing during pregnancy were entirely normal. However, when she mentioned that Y/n appeared quite significant, Wakatoshi couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
“It’s likely because you, my Lord, are substantial,” she reassured, with a laugh, “I believe your baby is inheriting their size from their father.”
That didn’t ease Wakatoshi’s concerns. He worried that if his wife was indeed carrying a large baby, it might pose challenges during childbirth, considering her petite stature.
“It is alright, my love,” Y/n consoles, “my body will adapt, and everything will be fine.”
Wakatoshi exhaled softly, “I love you too much, I don’t want you hurting.”
“It is worth it,” she smiles, rubbing her belly.
. . .

Mizu x Apothecary fem reader gave me IDEAS, because now I'm thinking of Mizu and her traveling herbalist wife (complete with a large wooden carrier full of herbs) who gets along with Ringo, and separate (or not) idea: mizu's broad-shouldered archer wife who inherited a war bow, who assists in fights from afar 🥰
a/n: I can surely do that for you my friend <3 have both because I love you and you deserve it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          — mizu x fem!herbalist!reader
                 • you and mizu had met in the forests of japan, finding the samurai injured limping through the snow.
                 • let’s say your relationship wasn’t always the best. started off kinda rocky; she was always pissy with you because that is who she is.
                 • you tried your hardest to help her but she would barley let you. you settled for forking over the herbs and letting her patch herself up
                 • eventually she caved because she didn’t know what the fuck she was doing, and let you do it for her
                 • after that you asked where she was headed, to which you got the answer of tanabe island
                 • you were happened to be headed the same way. she begrudgingly agreed to let you go with her, and that’s when you met ringo! the “apprentice” she was desperately trying to get rid of
                  • you wondered why she was trying to be rid of him because he was such a sweetheart; but than you looked and her and you figured you knew why. she liked to work alone.
                  • that didn’t last long though because she got herself fucked up again and you needed to swoop in and help her
                  • for once, she didn’t protest. instead, she thanked you.
                  • that took you by surprise but you smiled and said she didn’t need to thank you. it was your job, after all
                  • this is about when you find out she’s actually a woman- you don’t really care, though, it doesn’t change your opinion on her or how attractive you thought the samurai was
                  • you decided to just let all your feelings out than, because you had gotten through this hard ass somehow and you didn’t know when that was going to happen again
                  • you confessed your feelings about her. and too your surprise, she reciprocated but of course begrudgingly because “tough guy”
                  • you were about to ask if you could kiss her. you had been waiting to. but before you could ask she cut you off and kissed you
                  • that’s where your relationship kicked off and you’ve been happily married for a few months now! you travel with her and patch her dumbass up when she gets herself recklessly injured because the fucker is so hell bent on revenge
                 • she loves you, though. and you know that. you know that with all your heart. she may not say it, all the time, but you know it from the way she relentlessly protects you. from the way she would throw herself in front of a sword for you, a gun, even.
          — mizu x fem!archer!reader
              — warning(s): nsfw mentions/swearing
               • you had been masking as a man as much as she had, actually, you were one of the archers that heiji shindo had collected to um well kill mizu and taigen (aw meet cute <3)
              • you couldn’t really bring yourself to do it, though, you had maneuvered down there and helped them get out.
              • this was met with anger from the two of them, and they almost killed you by tossing you off that cliff
              • yet when you revealed your true self, a woman who was only truly looking for safe keep, they hesitated
              • mizu felt sympathy for you, obviously, you and her and similar. taigen probably thought you were hot ngl- but the minute mizu saw you you were practically hers
              • they offered you travel, just until they got where they were going. you agreed happily, resuming your mask as a man
              • that was until mizu got you alone. you were staying at a bathhouse; and you had been soaking in one of the baths
              • you flipped around, covering your chest when you saw her there. you blushed to hell and back, asking defensively what in the hell she was doing there.
               • she replied calmly that she was only coming to do the same as you. relax and unwind from their day.
               • you nod. she strips down all her clothes, leaving her hair up. your eyes widen when you realize that you are one in the same.
                • suddenly you feel a lot more comfortable having her see you like this
                • it escalates from normal conversation to heated passion rather quickly. soon enough she’s on top of you, one hand covering your mouth and the other fucking you until you couldn’t walk
               • a while later and you two decide to get hitched <3 you’re her eyes in the sky, protecting her from the trees while she’s on the ground. you protect each other lethally, that devotion driving you for the rest of your life together; through her quest and life after.
Tressym can be Fickle
WORDS: 692 RATING: G PAIRING: Gale x Tav SUMMARY: based on a very real arguement between my husband & I on who our cat likes more.
It had been a long, arduous, grueling day at the academy.
Though Gale loved his new role as a professor and educator, teaching the young minds of witches & wizards all across Faerun to harness their magic, induction week was the worst. He felt his life was in less peril fighting the Elder Brain or any of their other enemies & cohorts along the Sword Coast than he was now. Testing the new inductees to file them accordingly to their skill. ‘Skill’ being a very loose word tossed around this week.
He returned home that evening with a heavy sigh through the door, an even heavier thud of his satchel filled with books, and a desperate need to be tended to by his spouse. The whole day had been about soothing the egos, feelings, and on occasion literal wounds of new students that Gale thought he deserved some tending to now.
“Tav?” He called out as he put his cloak away. Usually, they greeted him at the door. Or at least acknowledged him when he came home. Curious, Gale walked through the house to try and find them. His search not long as he came upon Tav in the living room. On the couch by a low fire, with Tara on their lap. “Well….don’t you two look cozy.”
“Hmm, we rather are Mr. Dekarios.” Tara agreed. “Or at least we were, until someone started shouting.”
“Apologies for shouting in my own house.” Gale snipped at Tara. Taking his own plush armchair across from them. “Since when did you become a lap cat? And, before you get too ruffled under the feathers, it’s a figure of speech.”
Tara hummed. Seeming to debate about not letting it go but was perhaps indeed to comfortable to make a fuss. “Very recently I suppose. I never had an interest until now.” The tressym purred with her eyes closed as she tilted her head up towards Tav and her head scratches.
“You never took an interest with me.” Gale said with a deep frown.
“You do not have nails, Mr. Dekarios.”
The wizard growled and stood up. Unable to watch his dearest friend and lover betray him like this in front of his own eyes. It was still early for dinner but he stalked off towards the kitchen to focus his frustrations on what to eat.
A few moments later, Tav came in. Looking confused on why he was so upset. “Sorry.” He apologized quickly. “It’s just been a long day. And I am glad that you and Tara are getting along now. Guess I’m being….overly sensitive at being shut out. Tressym can be fickle, but I’ve never known Tara to change her mind about anyone. Again, not that I’m not pleased you two are getting along. I just never thought I would suddenly be second in her estimation.”
“Suddenly second? Please Mr. Dekarios.” The couple turned to see Tara trot in. Seeming interested in their conversation. “I wouldn’t say that you were suddenly second. Not given my high esteem of your mother. A better estimate is which one of you is second on the day, and who is third.”
“Really Tara? Kick a man while he’s down??”
“But, I’m a reasonable creature. Perhaps my estimations can be over swayed. Perhaps with a bit of chicken? Fried pigeons if you have any?”
“So a creature of reason but not honor, eh?” Gale stated, with a wave of his hand as if he wish to brush away this whole conversation.
Before he could leave, Tav wrapped their arms around his waist. Pulling him close. The smell of their hair in his nose. Something like ‘you’ll always be number 1 to me’ muffled into his chest, which causes him to smile and hold them back.
They tell Gale to go upstairs and relax. Take a bath if he liked, while they made dinner. That sounded heavenly, so he did just that.
When he came back down, he was not amused by the roast chicken on his plate. Nor the grinning little tressym in the corner, licking her chops like she’d just swallowed a canary. Or, perhaps, her bribery chicken.
A grin fell upon Aemond’s face as he noticed a familiar ship docking in the ports. His mother and sister would be thrilled to have you back in Kings Landing but he was ecstatic to have his twin sister back after so many years. Twins shouldn’t be away for that long, it wasn’t healthy.
When he found you arriving in the gates, he was overjoyed. Nothing could beat that anxious feeling that swarmed his body unless it was your touch, of course.
“Aemond,” you called, running over to him. You threw yourself into his arms pulling him close as he did the same. “It has been too long. I wish you had visited me.”
“If mother had let me, I would of been there with you the whole time,” he hummed, kissing your cheek softly. “Twins shouldn’t be separated for that long.”
“My Princess,” a man called out from behind you, standing a few feet away. “You shouldn’t run off like that.”
You pulled away from Aemond’s embrace as you turned back to the Dornish man. You smiled at him a hand still placed against Aemond’s brother.
“This is my brother, Andrey,” you told the man, who was holding onto his sheathed sword tightly.
“Twin brother,” Aemond said, squinting his eye at the man.
“A threat can come from anywhere princess,” Andrey told you, eyeing up Aemond as if challenging him.
Aemond took a step closer towards the man placing his hand on his own sword. You placed a hand against his chest as you stepped between the men.
“Please,” you laughed, pushing your brother back. “Andrey is a gift from Dorne. He has my personal guardsman over there and he will continue his duty here.” You turned to look at Andrey. “Andrey you will have to get a long with my brother as you will be seeing much of him around the castle.”
Both men stared at each other intently, instantly not liking each other.
_
Aemond’s patience was withering away since the moment you stepped off of the boat and returned to Kings Landing. He had hoped you could return to your usual routine and although you did there was a constant presence that lurked behind you.
Training in the morning he had been constantly distracted. When he looked back at you to watch how you cheered him on from the sideline, he was angered to see a familiar figure behind you. Andrey practically stood a mere inch from you as if crowding your space.
When you both retired to the library, Aemond was a moment from decapitating the man’s head from his shoulders. He stalked behind you as you looked across the shelves to find a book.
“You know,” Aemond stated, throwing himself back on the long seats. “It is not customary for a knight to spend all his time with a princess. Normally a guardsman would stand outside the library doors to protect her.”
“What if the enemy attack happens within the library walls, my prince?” Andrey questioned, turning to look down at Aemond.
“I’m sure none of these books are going to hurt her unless they fall onto her head,” Aemond pointed out, his fist clenching beside him. “Rumours may start if you spend so much time with the princess. These rumours could affect my sisters reputation that could be far more harmful than any enemy you could protect her against.”
Andrey opened his mouth to speak but you stopped him.
“Andrey it is fine,” you told him, placing a soft hand to his shoulder. “Please wait for me outside.”
Andrey nodded bowing slightly before he sauntered out of the door.
Aemond finally relaxed back into the seat as he threw his head back and sighed. “Does he even take a moments rest to protect you?”
“Are you jealous brother?” You asked, cocking your head to the side slightly as you gazed at him. “Someone other than you now takes my attention.”
“Jealous,” he laughed, shaking his head.
You pulled a book from the shelves as you walked over to him. “He is just doing his job.”
He looked at you. Finally looked at you properly since you had arrived. You had changed completely in appearance and he could see why the knight was completely enamoured by you. The dress you wore hugged your full chest and your soft curves.
“He is infatuated by you,” he stated, his own hand reaching to slide against your body. He leaned into your body as his face pushed into your stomach. His hand moved to grope at your ass slapping it slightly before he pulled you down onto the seat. “I can see why.”
“He is not infatuated with me,” you laughed.
“Nor am I jealous,” he told you, resting his head in your lap.
You played with his hair gently tracing your fingers through it. “You’ve always been jealous.”
“That’s because you are mine.” He nestled his face into your stomach grinning widely. “As I am yours.”
_
Thoughts of you had clouded Aemond’s mind and before he knew it he found himself making his way to your quarters without realising. Not only had you grown into your features, now a Targaryen goddess in his eyes, but you had grown confident and wiser than before knowing how to play with the strings of his heart more than you had before. He didn’t care for any stupid alliance that you could marry into, you’d marry him, that he’d make sure of.
He was surprised but happy to find one of the Kings guardsmen standing by your door instead of that cunt Andrey. He nodded at the Guardsman and the man moved from the door stepping a few metres down where he could still protect you.
Aemond’s hand hovered over your door handle about to open it but stopping upon hearing noises.
Inside the rooms you had just changed into your night gown after a long soak in your tub. The stresses of trying to keep your twin and Andrey from clashing swords was starting to bother you.
Even as kids Aemond had been jealous hating it when you’d spend too much time with your nephews or older brother. Every moment that could spent with him, should be spent with him. Even the moments that shouldn’t, when you were trying to sleep in bed, he would spend with you. Finding a way to sneak into your chambers unexpected.
But the way Andrey was acting was in undignified, you knew that. There was the fact you may of kissed him a few times back in Dorne but the man had become a lost poppy trailing behind you at every moment.
You turned around to walk to your bed but instead grabbed at your chest with a gasp as you noticed Andrey standing beside your windows.
“How did you get in here?” You questioned, looking towards the door that was still closed.
“Your door is well guarded,” Andrey told you, pointing to your window. “But your window is not.”
Your eyes squinted at him as you took long strides over to him. He passed you some herbs that he held in his hand placing them in yours. Lavender you noticed shoving them against his chest.
“They are for your baths my lady,” he told you, placing them down on your table. “I bargained with travellers for them in flea bottom.”
“Don’t do that again,” you commanded, pursing your lips tightly together as you took a seat on the edge of your bed.
“I remembered the way you loved bathing in the finest herbs in Dorne,” he reminded you, smiling down as he looked at you.
“These are my private quarters, Andrey,” your voice was loud carrying through out the room as you scolded him. “If I want you here, I will summon you.”
He kneeled down before you bowing his head as he apologised, “Forgive me, my princess. I live to serve you.” His lips lifted into a small smile as he looked up at you.
“Very well,” you sighed, gesturing with your hand for him to stand. “I do not know why you are here, Andrey. But if someone was to find you here my virtue may well be in question.”
“You know why I’m here,” he took a step closer towards you. “I’m here because of you.”
“You know, Andrey. You should be kinder to my brother,” you told him, grabbing your chalice from the side to take a sip. “Although you might not get along, he is a prince. Anything that may happen between you, his side would be taken and you could be tried for death.”
“Is that a threat,” he asked, his brow raising slightly surprised from your words.
“A warning,” you claimed, still glaring up at him. “I care for you Andrey-” he stepped closer again as you raised foot up to stop him. You tutted shaking your head. “-but I care for my twin brother more.”
“I see.” His hand reached under the bottom of your night gown caressing the soft skin of the bottom of your legs.
“We are not in Dorne anymore,” you lectured him, pulling your leg away from him. You rolled you eyes. “Do not touch me again.”
“I’m sorry-”
The door was thrown open as Aemond barged in pulling his sword out as he placed it against Andrey’s neck. Andrey tried to back away but Aemond followed him with the sword.
“Aemond,” you tutted, placing a gentle hand on his back. “Let him go.”
Aemond rolled his eyes but followed your orders placing his sword beside him.
“Andrey leave us,” you demanded, watching him as he stomped out of the room. The door slammed behind him.
“You are jealous,” you teased, moving around Aemond until you reached in front of him. You peppered kisses along his chin and neck as your hands slid up his chest. “You know just because you are my brother doesn’t mean you get to come into my quarters when you see fit.”
He dropped his sword beside you his own hands reaching for your hips as he pulled you close.
“No touching.” You removed his hands from your body.
His eye widened as he looked down at you and his brow furrowed.
You walked back to your bed slipping your night down off before sitting on the edge of the bed. Your lips curved into a wide smirk as you gazed up at him. You opened your legs for him as you leant back.
“Here brother,” you demanded, pointing to the ground by the bed. “I want you to kneel there while you devour my cunt.”
“It will be my pleasure,” he replied, removing his shirt to make himself slightly more comfortable.
Aemond’s hands grabbed at your hips pulling you to the edge of the bed as your legs hooked around his shoulders. He buried his head between your thighs ready to enjoy the taste of what he knew was going to be his new favourite meal. He dove straight in sucking on the juices that coated your cunt holding your hips down as you squirmed underneath him.
“Is what you’ve been learning since I’ve been gone?” You moaned, throwing your head back to the bed.
Your hips arched up to grind against his face as he lapped at your cunt, his nose nudging against your clit. You felt him slide a finger in your entrance as he curled it inside of you. He pushed another one in making you whimper under his touch.
“Just like that, brother.”
You could feel his lips curl into a grin against your cunt as he enjoyed your praise. Moving his tongue to circle around your clit as he delved further into your pussy like he had something to prove.
“Gods, Aemond. I think I’m close.”
Your toes curled as your walls clenched around his fingers. Your orgasm washed over him and you cried out your legs clamped around his head. Aemond hummed in approval as he continued to enjoy discovering every part of your cunt. When you finally came down and your legs relaxed beside him, he removed himself.
You looked up at him slightly blissed out but you pursed your lips as if trying to fake boredom.
“You can go now,” you commanded, pushing him away with your leg.
He chuckled grabbing your ankle in his hand as he kept your legs open. His hand reaching down to place a harsh smack against your cunt.
“Unlike your pompous Dornish man, I will not bend to your will, sweet sister. While I admire your confidence, the dynamics in this relationship have not changed,” he explained, his fingers still playing with your cunt. “I think you need a reminder of that.” Tag List: (Tag list open here)
Theon's choice not to visit Alannys was not a choice
Cannot believe it took this long for me to get around to this meta—also, feel free to read my whole spiel about Theon's father figures in Ned, Balon, and Roose here, because it does inform my view.
OK, Alannys Harlaw hours.
The conception of Theon's motivations in the situation where he does not go to see his mother when he returns to the Islands is a bit harsh on Theon. It ignores that Theon has not been avoiding Alannys all these years: he has been kept from her. Theon's access to her has always been controlled by the NedBalons in his life.
I want to get into the idea that this is not happenstance. That Theon's father figures control his access to his mother, which is not even a novel concept in ASOIAF. Jon Snow, who is Theon's foil, also has access to his mother restricted by—woah! Ned Stark as well!! (And both Jon and Theon are expected to be grateful for this too.)
Theon's homecoming to Pyke does not result in him rushing triumphant as the prodigal son into his loving mother's arms because in fact Alannys is not even on Pyke (though Theon thought she would be). Nope, it's Theon's suspicious, resentful, and yes "homophobic" uncle as well as father who Theon meets. From here it is just assumed that Theon has perfect access to Alannys, and that him not hopskipping over to Harlaw is purely his preference. (Are you catching on to the idea that I disagree with this, yet?)
Getting into Theon as a character & how he acts under suspicious/mistrustful eyes:
As a boy, he had lived in fear of Stark's stern face and great dark sword. His wife was, if anything, even more distant and suspicious. [ACOK, Theon I]
-
“What I am about to tell you must not leave this room,” she told them. “I want your oaths on that. If even part of what I suspect is true, Ned and my girls have ridden into deadly danger, and a word in the wrong ears could mean their lives.” “Lord Eddard is a second father to me,” said Theon Greyjoy. “I do so swear.” [AGOT, Catelyn III]
-
Ned turned back to his wife. “Once you are home, send word to Helman Tallhart and Galbart Glover under my seal. They are to raise a hundred bowmen each and fortify Moat Cailin. Two hundred determined archers can hold the Neck against an army. Instruct Lord Manderly that he is to strengthen and repair all his defenses at WhiteHarbor, and see that they are well manned. And from this day on, I want a careful watch kept over Theon Greyjoy. If there is war, we shall have sore need of his father’s fleet.” [AGOT, Eddard IV]
Theon knows he is not trusted in Winterfell. Catelyn including Theon in this circle of ooh secrets is mostly due to the fact that Robb physically brought him & also because she knows that Theon does not really even have the ability to betray her on this front. He definitely knows that. Ned does not have a paternal relationship with Theon & does not perceive himself as Theon's father any more than Theon believes he is Ned's son (in the manner that Robb or Bran or even Jon is), so why does Theon lie here?
HE IS OVERPERFORMING HIS COMMITMENT TO THE PATRIARCH FIGURE IN WHOSE HANDS HIS LIFE/FUTURE LIES.
Theon predicates his vow to Catelyn with an affirmation of his willingness to do service to Ned, and in fact that's what his access to her relies on. That's probably why he makes such a production of incessantly flirting with her too; because of how it implies he is in Ned and later Robb's good graces! Of course AGOT Theon is also just a flirt for the purposes of producing his masculinity in general. But does anyone really disagree? Moving on.
The door was grey wood studded with iron, and Theon found it barred from the inside. He hammered on it with a fist, and cursed when a splinter snagged the fabric of his glove. The wood was damp and moldy, the iron studs rusted. After a moment the door was opened from within by a guard in a black iron breastplate and pothelm. "You are the son?" "Out of my way, or you'll learn who I am." [ACOK, Theon I]
(Even the damn door is in on it LOL)
Theon knelt. He had a purpose here, and might need Aeron's help to achieve it. A crown was worth a little mud and horseshit on his breeches, he supposed.
-
He was playing the part of a dutiful young prince for the moment, while he waited for Lord Balon to reveal the fullness of his plans. [ACOK, Theon II]
-
"My father gave me the command here, Uncle." "And sent me to counsel you." And to watch me. Theon dare not push matters too far with his uncle. The command was his, yes, but his men had a faith in the Drowned God that they did not have in him, and they were terrified of Aeron Damphair. [ACOK, Theon III]
THEON IS PERFORMING FOR BALON. His father doesn't approve of him and Theon is playing the part. He is making every overture and concession to obedience, or piety, that is asked of him. Balon, Aeron, Asha, even Victarion make sure he knows when he's failing—whether it's with an express disapproval or just a knowing laugh. Theon notes all of this because due to how he was raised he's extremely perceptive of how those with power over him regard him.
And Balon does not criticize Theon for not visiting Alannys.
"Will I find my sister and my lady mother at Pyke?" "You will not. [ACOK, Theon I]
-
Harlaw is only a day’s sail, and surely Lady Greyjoy yearns for a last sight of her son.” “Would that I could. I am kept too busy here. My father relies on me, now that I am returned. Come peace, perhaps...” [ACOK, Theon II]
Theon visiting his mother is not reliant on his own self-motivation, but on whether or not Balon grants him access to her. This is not to say Balon expressly forbade it or that there would have been any direct consequences if Theon had gone over... but it's about goodwill, not permission! What else changes between Theon asking about Alannys when he returns to Pyke and when he explicitly tells Asha that he can't go see her because Balon, because war? Simple: he needs to prove himself to his father as loyal and strong first. To make it explicit, Ned & Robb allowed Theon access to Catelyn in the same manner that Balon refuses (or, at the least, disapproves of) Theon's access to Alannys. Theon is sensitive to this disapproval and does not push the matter.
The only person who pushes Theon to go to Alannys is Asha. Asha obviously has Balon's trust, though, and it could be said she takes it for granted. Asha's level of understanding of Theon is complex; she recognizes him but she doesn't know him. When she says this:
You are blood of my blood, Theon, whatever else you may be. For the sake of the mother who bore us both, return to Deepwood Motte with me. [ACOK, Theon V]
it's actually wild how much is packed in here. For the sake of the mother who bore us both: Theon doesn't yet have the right to Alannys or even know how she'd receive him, given his other receptions on Pyke. Return to Deepwood Motte: the castle Theon believes he should have been tasked with taking above Asha, a concrete proof of his father's mistrust in him, which amongst other reasons spurs on his taking on Winterfell to begin with.
Personally I think Theon as a symbol of Balon's failed rebellion does make him, in Balon's eyes, also a symbol of his failed marriage. Theon does not confirm Baelon's masculinity as a son should, as Asha does. He is a reminder of the ways in which Balon lacks.
I also believe that Theon ~misses his mother, FWIW. He thinks back to his childhood sleeping in the Sea Tower while on his way to Pyke which is a mommy-coded memory; he expects to sleep in his old chambers again when he returns to Pyke—both that and his expectation of seeing Alannys are swiftly disabused. He will not be slipping into his old roles, Theon learns through the reunion with Balon which is violent in more ways than one. It's interesting because Theon actually expects to have to prove himself to his father (which is why he comes armed with a plan for taking Casterly Rock) but he doesn't expect to be punished for having been held hostage all these years.
If we are indulging in symbolism, though:
Above the Sea Tower snapped his father's banner. The Myraham was too far off for Theon to see more than the cloth itself, but he knew the device it bore: the golden kraken of House Greyjoy, arms writhing and reaching against a black field. The banner streamed from an iron mast, shivering and twisting as the wind gusted, like a bird struggling to take flight. And here at least the direwolf of Stark did not fly above, casting its shadow down upon the Greyjoy kraken. [ACOK, Theon I]
The Sea Tower where Theon's childhood memories & hopes for return to his family lie is dominated by his father's banner. At least it's Balon Greyjoy and not Ned Stark, Theon tells himself. Yet the result is the paralleled, mirrored, as Balon and Ned often are with Theon: under Ned's control Theon can't see Alannys because he is Balon Greyjoy's son, while under Balon's control Theon is discouraged from seeing Alannys because he isn't son enough. Perhaps Theon does prioritize the goodwill of his patriarch because he views it as an essential ingredient to his survival and success... but he's also absolutely aware of the role the wife/mother/lady/queen plays in the whole arena too. As power, as leverage. It's pretty plain when you consider that he tells Barbrey she could claim leadership over the North if she so desired. He took such pleasure in being relatively intimate with Catelyn as well.
So, he knows. Yet they're still all held above his head like a little treat. Delicious.
--------
What a day. As you all were sitting down next to the campfire, your eyes couldn't help but wander at Astarion. While you all were fairly new to each other, you noticed, Shadowheart was quite comfortable around Astarion. and Astarion was acting quite familiar around her too. You wished you didn't see that. So you quickly averted your eyes. Every one else seemed to be busy being merry, laughing, drinking and having a good time. So why couldn't you relax?
You stood up, intending to clear your head. Why do you feel such a sharp pang. You don't love him. You barely know him, he may not even be a good person for all you know. What had you hoped? That he would favor you over everyone? But why... is it because, you yearn...
You yearn for him.
Your heart lit up. And then, you remembered, he didn't, yearn for you. He likes Shadowheart. The beautiful Shadowheart. And she is powerful. Of course he would. She was like a dangerous flower. But a flower all the same. And you? Just a nobody, with no past, and a future you cannot envision. Nothing to your name. Except for a sword, bound to you by a pact. Power. To dispel enemies. To fight your way in this madness that has engulfed your world. But they weren't enough. Not enough for him to yearn for you...
You ran.
Through the woods, far away from your friends, and the warm fire. Through the darkness, like your racing mind. Till you were out of breath in a field bathed in silver moonlight. And the world was quiet. And you felt welcome by Nature. And loved. By the world around. There was not a soul around, and you broke down, in tears. As you felt sorry for the state your heart was in. And how brutally it was crushed. You blamed yourself for even getting your hopes up.
You wailed.
Your cries could not be heard by anyone here. You felt grateful for the serenity. You lay on the grass, hugging yourself. Before long, you closed your eyes, and were drifting off due to exhaustion. The day was hard. The night even more so.
Your light sleep was interrupted by the sound of twigs cracking under approaching light footsteps. You jolted up and were shocked at the shadowy figure looming over you. Instantly your hand reached for your Pact Weapon, but the other party - just as shocked initially - cried out in self defense. "Its' me! Astarion! Please, I did not mean to scare you. Please."
You lowered your weapon. But he had some explaining to do.
"I am sorry, I - I didn't realize it was you. I - I thought you were someone else. A bandit. And I, I was going to well... I was hungry."
He took a deep breath. Resolved to his fate. "I would never hurt you. Or any of my friends. I want you to trust me."
"Alright, let's say that is true, what did you want with this.. bandit? You wanted to loot him I suppose." You put your weapon away.
"That's the other thing. I am not sure, if I should be telling you this, but, I am so hungry, and .. and I have been very unlucky tonight, you see."
"Did Karlach not leave you any food? Or were you so distracted, talking to Sha- other people, that you forgot to eat?"
"I, I need blood to survive."
Silence followed. Deafening silence. He looked down. As if he was ashamed. Then looked up at your with pleading yes.
Your eyes widened in disbelief. Incredulous, you couldn't believe you had missed the signs that were there all along. Everything pointed to him being a Vampire. So that boar..... But now what? There is a Vampire in your midst! OMG. Had you just put your entire party in danger?! You and your stupid trusting heart. What now? Should you kill him?
"I never, please believe me, I never hurt people I know. Those who are my friends. But please, I am very hungry, I just need... a little bit.. it will help me fight better, and make me feel like myself, again".
He knelt down. On his knees... "If it isn't too much, I only need a little bit - or you are free to stake me".
You looked down at the sorry state he was in. This man who you were yearning for, on his knees, pleading you. He was pleading for your blood. That was the only problem. You didn't want him to, but wanted him to not be in such a state either. You wanted to help him. There went your stupid kind heart again. You never learn.
"Will it hurt?"
Astarion looked up - incredulous that you even entertained the idea. "What? Oh! No, only a little prick. And I can be extra careful too -"
"Does it have to be the neck? Because I don't want-" "And you don't have to - if you don't want to" He had stood up. He lifted your right hand, and lifted it to his lips - placing a light kiss. "I am more than happy, with your hand. May I?" He looked up. A darkness in his eyes. Hunger? Greed? Deception? Maybe all of it. You nod slightly.
He caressed your hand with both of his, dragging his lips over your wrist sending sparks through your body. This felt so wrong, yet your body liked his touch. You could smell his hair, bergamot. He was taller than you. Lit up in the moon, this man was gorgeous. And dangerous, as he was just about to prove himself to be. You looked away as he bared his fangs. You hated anything piecing your skin. Hoping you don't feel a lot, you closed your eyes, and you did not. It was barely a prick like he promised. You were grateful.
After a while, you decided this was more than enough of a favor. You tried withdrawing your hand. He got the hint. He let your hand go and stepped back, and looked at your with a grateful smile. "Would you like me to...escort you back, to camp?"
Should you let him? Weren't you running away from how he was making you feel. Wouldn't Shadowheart notice? What would she think? But, how could you refuse him. After all, you may never get another chance...to walk with him. Through the woods. Just the two of you. Even as friends. Or strangers. You grasped at what you could get.
You two walked back in silence. Him next to you. Every now and again you would look at him. He seemed lost in thought, smiling. You figured he must be thinking of her. Your heart sank, and the gratitude you were feeling at being able to walk next to him, quickly dissipated to pangs of sharp pain again. What started as a romantic moonlit walk quickly turned into an unbearable awkwardness for you, and you wished you were back already. So you quickened your pace.
Very soon, you could see the warm glow of the fire. What a relief. You just need a hug. From Karlach. Or Halsin. And you could forget about the unceremonious way you let your heart pine for a man out of your reach. And upon reaching camp - you did just that. You forsook Astarion immediately and without another glance at him, ran to Karlach and buried your face in her, lest you start crying again. You didn't care what he did, whether he went back to Shadowheart, you did not want to witness that.
Afterwards when the whole camp had quietened down. You hung around with Karlach, Gale and Wyll. You assumed, Shadowheart was in Astarion's tent. And you dare not look that way. You asked those lingering - what their reason to live was. Did everyone have something to live for? What would they do, after all this was over?
An interesting discussion followed. You felt you got to know your comrades a bit better. It made you feel warm. The cold that was left due to the lack on one was filled by the warmth of many, and you smiled. You liked it. And you liked your new found friends.
Later that night, you lay in your tent, and tried to drive away all the thoughts about how no one would miss you. If you were not there, or how you were not as interesting as some of the others. And as you fought hard, with yourself, you realized, that there must be others like you out there who needed someone to know them, to look at them, and value them. And you realized you had a purpose. You could be needed. You could carve out a meaning for your existence in this crazy world. You wanted to be there for those that needed you. You will be the hero. And that would be the reason to exist, you would love yourself, so you can love those who needed to be loved.
And with that comforting thought you drifted away.
In search of freedom (Ch. 4)
Tumblr media
4. One step forward
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 3 ; Chapter 4 ; Chapter 5
⠀⠀⠀⠀She's been searching for freedom her entire life and everytime she thought it was laying right in front of her eyes, she was mistaken. She was running around the East Blue, seeking herself and her dreams, meeting people she never forgot. No matter how much she traveled, she could only catch a glimpse of peace before realizing everything would crumble at her feet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Maybe it was destiny that brought her on that ship with three strangers — foolishly, that's what she tried to believe when the moon shined beautifully and hope settled in her chest, squeezed by the same ribcage where feelings were blooming.
Pairing: female!reader x OPLA Zoro Roronoa
Warnings for this chapter: fluff, some angst, alcohol
Word count: 3.8k
Theme song: fic spotify playlist (click on the link)
A/N: Tons of interactions between Zoro and reader. Not a long chapter, but I wanted to offer more insight about the reader's past and the relationship she has with her crewmates. I know they travel from Syrup village to Baratie in a day, but I wanted this exact scenario, so let's say it took a half a day longer ;) Not proofread yet.
The reader is referred to as "Witch" because I have no intentions of using "Y/N".
I'm open for comments and opinions! <3
They spent the rest of the day buying supplies for the journey. With no previous discussions, they all came to the conclusion that Nami would handle the berries, with some opinions from the witch who was used to always saving up money.
The witch has loads of information and experience about the map of the stars above, so she decided to save Nami from a sleepless night. She already took a nap after they set sail a few hours before dawn, falling asleep after she laid down on the sofa in the cabin. She completely forgot about her wound, too tired to mind the pain at that time, as if she's got hit in the head again.
Now, she was purposely ignoring the ache. She analyzed the stars for long enough to figure out where they were heading. From Zoro's perspective, the way she counted the stars and figured out the cardinal points was witchy. Realistically, he knew that Nami must've had the same way of figuring out how to sail during the night and not only her, but other sailors as well.
The witch sat on the deck, her back resting against the mast, her head tilted back to gaze up at the stars. The wound stung and it was uncomfortable, but she didn't want to bother herself with cleaning it up. Also, she had no clue where some bandages might be, and she didn't have the energy to go around and ask about it.
Meanwhile, Zoro knocked two times at Nami's door, opening it after receiving a sign he could enter. The navigator was sitting on one of the hanging beds in the room with some notes and maps in her lap.
"Do you know where's some first aid kit?" Zoro asked.
"Hm?" she raised her head at him, frowning. "Did you trip after drinking too much booze and got hurt?"
He rolled his eyes with a sigh.
"I didn't even drink today. Just tell me where it is."
"Should note it down in the calendar," she scoffed with a smile. "There should be one in the chest over there," she pointed at it by tilting her head.
In the corner of the room, under a small desk, was the chest she mentioned. He opened it and found what he was searching for.
"Oh," he heard Nami whispering.
When he looked at her from where he was crouching, she had a shit-eating grin on her face.
"What?"
He was absolutely clueless. The most oblivious man Nami has ever seen and, for the record, they were all oblivious as fuck.
"Nothing," she smiled innocently.
What is she up to? Zoro wondered.
With the first aid kit box in his hand, he got out of the room and walked back to the deck, where the same woman stargazed. His hand was still resting on the hilt of his sword while he stomped on the wooden planks. She hasn't moved one inch, except for the gentle smile that tugged at her lips.
The only source of light was a gas lamp on a barrel close to her and she glowed. He stopped in his tracks to gaze at her the same way she looked up at the sky and he realized quickly that his lungs stopped  functioning.
I'll need some booze after this.
He let the kit fall in her lap and he was surprised by the lack of discomfort she showed at his sudden appearance. Each time someone came from behind, he saw her step away or react in some kind of way, be it a grimace on her face or a sharp inhale.
"What's this for?"
"Take a guess," he shook his head.
She was impossible. Did she do it intentionally?
"Shit, I completely forgot about the bandana," her eyes widened in surprise.
She undid the knot of said material as fast as she could, inhaling through her teeth at the sharp pain.
Only then he noticed an unopened bottle of something — he hoped it would sting his throat — sitting to her other side. He sat cross legged and leaned in over her legs to wrap his fingers around the bottle, tugging with his teeth at the cork.
"That was mine," he heard a faint voice complaining.
"It was."
He hid the smirk threatening to show on his face by placing the bottle at his lips, taking some long gulps. The alcohol stung so pleasantly against his tongue and he anticipated a sense of calm once he'd drink enough.
A restrained hiss got his attention. The witch's lips were knitted together and she tried to clean her wound with a wet cotton ball — it was alcohol, he guessed. After swallowing hard, she continued to tap the skin lightly. Her other hand was digging into her thigh, distracting her with another kind of ache. She was obviously concentrating, the reason why she didn't spit out smart remarks at him.
Zoro sighed heavily and let the bottle down with a low thud.
"Will you need stitches?"
"No," she muttered.
If she wouldn't have been hurt, her face would've looked almost cute.
Since when did he start thinking that way about people? It must be the booze.
She seemed relieved when she finished. The next step was to apply some ointment, which was less troubling.
Then, came the impossible task: wrapping her wound with one hand. Since her other upper arm was hurt, she couldn't do it any other way. The wheels before her eyes worked well enough — certainly, there were a few ways she could do that.
It couldn't be that hard, right?
The swordsman by her side achieved inhuman abilities, because telepathy wasn't something that happened naturally. She needed help dressing the wound.
The real issue was will she ask for help?
He didn't know exactly why he wanted to hear her say something. Anything. The smallest word leaving her lips would sound like a yes in his head and he would act accordingly with the alcohol swimming through his veins.
It wasn't in his nature to be so calculated. Nonetheless, exceptions always existed.
He didn't need to be proud about helping her. No, it was far from that. He had another kind of pride and it settled in the scabbards still holding his swords at his hip. Zoro wanted to see how far she'd go until she realized that asking for help wasn't a sin.
"Um," her lips parted.
"Give me the bandages."
He opened his hand for her to place the white material in it.
"I wanted to say that you owe me a bottle of booze," she blinked up at him confused.
He didn't wait for her to give him the bandages, instead, he took them by himself and positioned himself a bit closer. Suddenly, the alcohol seeping in his bones helped more than he guessed the first time he saw the bottle.
Was he holding back his usual strength at that moment? There were no coherent thoughts in his head while he wrapped the white material around her upper arm as gentle as he was capable of. Zoro avoided grazing his fingertips over her skin, but it was impossible any other way, so he found himself in a weird stance: his hand would hold her arm still from time to time while he rolled the bandages.
A cruel mistake was to look into her eyes, which he unfortunately did. The witch was also looking at him. Probably, he should be more grateful about the way her intense gaze didn't falter when it met his own, even if it made his stomach tingle.
He drank too much. Or too little.
There was one way to find out and that would be taking another bottle to drown down his throat.
He was never the one to look away first, be it an enemy or a friendly staring contest. However, he failed that time.
There must've been some potion in that bottle. Otherwise, there was no explanation.
"Thank you."
It was the second time she thanked him in a day. The swordsman didn't see much in these things, but he was genuinely intrigued about the nature of his own gestures. As someone used to actions, questions sounded pointless in between his thoughts. Then, why did he suddenly ask instead of straight up finding out the answer?
Why did he do these things without being asked to?
"Sure," he let out softer than it was meant to be.
He got up and headed to the galley to grab two more bottles of alcohol.
There was a different feeling than the usual duty he felt about people. She didn't need his protection or help, she could perfectly do it all on her own. She skillfully tossed knives through the air and was awfully proud about her abilities, a confident smile on her face.
Zoro never asked, but he guessed she was part of that world long before they appeared in her life. It wasn't possible to follow the rules of the sea unless you sailed before and she conquered the power of water itself.
And the strength of his heart on top of that.
"Zoro!" Luffy's enthusiastic voice beamed. "Let's learn the stars."
"What?"
Wasn't that the reason why Nami and the witch were on that ship? They already knew a lot.
"It's fun! I didn't know there were bears in the night sky!"
"Of course there aren't bears in the sky!" Usopp commented.
"They're just constellations, Luffy," the woman chuckled.
Both of them came to her like curious owls with big eyes, begging her to show them some stars; now, all of them sat on the deck. Of course their supposed captain would learn about anything only to forget half of it the next minute, but the intention mattered, right?
She didn't expect the swordsman to accept Luffy's invitation, but he did so, sitting in the same place he did a minute ago. Only the booze would determine whether or not he'd have enough patience to concentrate.
"Why is it called Ursa Major? Is there another one?" Usopp turned his head.
"Yes: Ursa Minor," she pointed her index finger at the sky above. "The Ursa Major  is there, right? They look the same, but the other one is smaller."
The sky was filled with stars and there were so many of them, it was almost impossible to spot a specific one. They sparkled beautifully, as if they smiled back at the pirates eager to learn their names.
"Where, where?" Luffy looked up, confused.
The witch moved her hand to the side and pointed at another constellation.
"Search for the same figure, but in smaller form."
"Fount it!" Luffy and Usopp exclaimed in unison.
She let out another soft chuckle and the swordsman paid more attention to that lovely sound than the stars she mentioned.
"See the tip of the bear's tail? That is its brightest star and it's called the North Star. Whenever you point towards the spot on the horizon directly below it, it means you're pointing north."
Luffy's lips were opened in surprise while he looked at the sky.
"So you're also a navigator!"
"Just because I'm better than Zoro at directions doesn't mean I'm a navigator," she joked lightly.
"I think you're overdoing it," the swordsman huffed.
"That's why you were so late?!"
Usopp was already cackling.
"The mansion was in front of your eyes and you still decided to go the other way," she nudged at him.
"I was just checking around," he muttered between gritted teeth.
"You're so bad at lying, Zoro," Luffy teased him.
Their captain and the sniper were laughing colorfully, until tears gathered on top of their lashes. The sound was accompanied by the same reaction coming from the witch, who was unaware of the palm she placed on Zoro's shoulder, while the other hand was holding onto her stomach.
However, the swordsman was hyper aware about it. It warmed him up almost as pleasantly as the booze, but it was a foreign sensation settling into his stomach. Those gentle fingers that wielded knives and had been dirtied by blood touched him and he didn't have an ounce of will within to push her away.
It's just a touch, what am I getting so worked up for?
"We just need to find a musician and the crew is complete!" Luffy smiled brightly.
The witch's hand dropped from Zoro's shoulder, gripping at one of the bottles he brought with him.
"I can sing," she whispered as if it was meant to be only for herself.
"I can dance!" Usopp grinned. "Guys, you have no idea how I was the star of countless parties! Captain, you have everyone you need right here."
Before the Straw Hat could say anything, the witch opened her bottle.
"With a guitar, Luffy, otherwise I won't start disturbing the fish in the sea," she let out a short sigh.
"If we find a guitar at our next destination, do you promise to play the guitar?"
The puppy eyes boring holes into her forehead couldn't be ignored so easily. Defeated, she nodded and took a long gulp from the bottle.
"Great!"
And with that, Luffy got to his feet, his chin tilted down to look at his friends.
"Good luck with the night watch."
"I'll come to watch over you, Luffy," Usopp solemnly touched his heart. "Who knows when an enemy will sneak in. I need to be prepared and protect my friends!"
"So tonight we find out about your snoring habits," the swordsman arched his eyebrow.
"I don't snore!" he frowned while he walked side by side with Luffy.
"Good night, you two," the witch smiled in their direction.
Zoro continued drinking from the bottle in his hand, the first one he picked up already empty, sitting by his side. The witch had far less resistance than him and none of them got some well deserved sleep in the last two days. He acknowledged the proximity between him and the woman sitting at his right, but annoyance crawled up his throat — why he wanted to be near her was beyond him.
"For how long have you been on a ship?" he wondered out loud.
"Is it obvious it's not my first time?"
They turned towards each other at the same time, locking gazes the same way they did when he bandaged her wound. At least that time there was a plausible and logical reason — one he created on the spot. The second time it happened, he was just pulled towards her like a magnet.
And maybe they were not exactly opposites nor each other's mirror, but they always found themselves in the presence of the other.
"This can't be your first journey on the sea," he shrugged. "You're not scared at all."
"Did you just imply that I'm scared of water?" she cocked an eyebrow at him.
"Then are you scared of land? You were damn anxious back in Syrup Village."
The witch crossed her arms under her chest in a defensive manner.
"It was my intuition."
"You were losing your shit."
His teasing comment received a wide-eyed stare from her.
"That's not true."
Her lips were pulled in a thin line right after and she averted her eyes, looking back at the stars. She was searching for the right words to tell him lame stories she was fond of.
"I'm used to sailing, yeah. Was part of a crew for almost two years and then left because I couldn't find my place there. It was my father's crew."
"So it runs in the family."
"Kind of," a sour smile creeped on her lips. "My mother hated pirates. How come she married one? He didn't become a pirate until years later."
After another long glance towards a constellation she just noticed, she brought the bottle to her lips and gulped down until half of the bottle was gone. The memories flowing back always left a bad taste in her mouth, a sensation she wanted to fight against with some more alcohol.
"And you are a pirate."
The conclusion was obvious.
"I don't think I have to say it out loud, do I?"
The sad smile on her lips didn't falter. The spoken admission that her mother hated her guts for choosing the same life as her father would've hurt more than the silence that spoke for itself. Memories sucked her into the past like a water vortex in the middle of the sea.
"What do you mean by 'I'm leaving in the morning?" her mother had furrowed her eyebrows at her.
The tension could've been cut through with the knife resting against the young girl's hip. She resembled her father too well: they walked the same, they had the same gaze and far too similar weapons.
Before her mother's eyes wasn't standing a daughter anymore, but a pirate, monsters she hated from the bottom of her heart. Cruel, ruthless, merciless monsters with no hearts. People with egos bigger than their bounties and strength that could wipe away entire islands.
Demons.
Her daughter has become a demon.
"You're talking after your monster of a father," her mother spat out after slapping the table with her palm.
"We both know he was more humane than you."
"Where did you learn such words from, girl?!"
"You."
The witch was still standing in front of the door with a bag hung over her right shoulder. A merely sixteen years old with fire burning in her irises.
"He's a criminal and a thief on top of it! A liar! A betrayer!" the woman's voice rose higher, threatening to break glass.
"Maybe you didn't agree with his living style, but he's never done anything to us! The sea is a battlefield, it's kill or get—"
"I've heard that excuse coming from him countless times, I don't need you to quote that man!"
"If he is just 'a man' for you, just know that he was always more of a father for me than you were a mother."
A sharp sound bounced off the walls and the young witch's cheek stung after the woman's hand flew across her face. Her head turned to the side, but no whimper left her lips.
"I dare you to say that again. As if you didn't live under my rooftop ever since he became a pirate — a monster."
The young girl used to be bold even at that time. Her left cheek ached painfully, but it didn't stop the fire from burning. No, it was like pouring gasoline over it, thinking it would stop.
She turned her head towards her mother and rolled her shoulders back, eyes boring holes into her forehead.
"He was a better father than you were a mother."
A stable voice and clear words filled with venom to the brim. She didn't falter, nails digging into her palms as she tried to contain her anger — her hatred.
"Is that what you wanted to hear? You lack self awareness, mom. You seem to forget about the times when you'd tell me I'll become a failure just like him. You intentionally brush aside the speeches you gave me about how no matter what I wish for, I have to just suck it up and accept the fact that all I will ever be is an obedient girl. I'm not obedient and I'm not a girl — I'm a pirate. No one on the sea cares whether or not I'm a woman."
"These are fairy tales for children! You won't be able to survive for longer than a day. You will come back crawling at me and I'll remind you who was right!"
"See? Exactly what I was saying. You're just proving my points and yet you cease to realize. Everytime you hit me, everytime you degrade me, every single time when you want to show me you have power over me — all of these are pointless."
A reckless teenager grasping for the first time at the notion of freedom after mourning her deceased father for five days. A flame learning how to burn.
She made one step closer, the furrow between her eyebrows deepening.
"Kill me. You've always craved seeing my father dead, didn't you? Why don't you kill me too? Wouldn't that make you happy? I bet it would, since you always acted like it."
Words could hurt and she learnt it from her mother, it seemed like. She's never heard someone use words like she wielded knives better than that woman and that time it backfired.
Before she even realized it, the bottle her fingers gripped at was almost empty, making it easier for tears to gather in the corners of her eyes. She's been silent for so long and Zoro glanced at her from his peripheral.
"And him?"
"Been dead for three years. I became a part of his crew right after. It didn't make any sense to continue living in my hometown any longer. They're like a shadow ship — they refused to give the title of Captain to someone else, even if technically the one in command now is the Vice Captain. Whenever they need to make a decision, they think of what their deceased Captain would've done."
The swordsman by her side crossed his arm over his chest and grinned.
"That's one hell of a loyal crew."
They were my family, even if they would drink late in the night and have awful cooking skills. They would laugh and offer me advice, they taught me what a pirate's pride is about.
"You still seem regretful."
The witch turned her head towards Zoro and he swore he'd never seen so many emotions flowing in those beautiful eyes of hers. They glowed with golden sparkles hence the gas lamp. There laid honesty and fierceness, a human who turned against its nature and decided to go further.
"I never regretted leaving. I don't regret any of it. Maybe there were things I shouldn't have said or done. I could've been kinder, less revengeful. If I am to be honest, despite being aware of the consequences and effects of my actions, I don't regret it. It can't be undone and there's no place for apologies when I meant what I said."
"The crew scolded you."
It wasn't a question, but a statement. Obviously, the crew was formed by men and a few women past twenty. They had more life experience than her.
"A little bit. They were, indeed, more mature than me," her head turned towards the horizon again.
Vague and cryptic answers, harder to decipher than Poneglyphs. However, Zoro wasn't an archeologist and he didn't ask for more than she was able to share, which made her shoulder relax. The witch didn't even notice when she tensed up.
He stretched out his legs from their crossed position and leaned better against the barrel. It seemed like the pirate hunter didn't have any intention of leaving the deck.
Their shoulders remained close and none of them moved closer or farther away. Both of them were content with burning a little more before admitting the truth even to themselves.
"Fucked."
Author: it's been a long while since I've written anything, but my latest obsession with Sandor turned out into this. I hope you enjoy it! If you do so, let me know, I might continue their story!
Y/N Stark was not an ordinary girl. Well, at least she was not what people in Westeros considered a 'proper' girl. She didn't like sewing, prefering to be outside practicing sword fighting or archery. She didn't enjoy dances or wearing fancy dresses, finding herself much more comfortable in other (sometimes much bloodier) scenarios. Being the oldest Stark, she is aware she was supposed to be married by now. She had turned down about 5 proposals of marriage, much to her mother's disgrace. Y/N didn't want to marry some butterfingered knight with the only purpose of getting knocked up. She had yet to meet a man who made her feel hot and bothered in the right places. Until that day.
The first time Sandor saw her, he knew she was going to be trouble. It happened when he visited Winterfell along with the King and the rest of the fuckers. When he took off the helmet and looked up, meeting her eyes, he felt something he had never felt before. It couldn't be love. Sandor 'the Hound' Clegane only knew hate. He didn't believe in love, let alone love at fucking first sight. But, when she smiled at him, all he could think was "I'm fucked."
After looking for him for a while, he found Sandor by the stables, leaning on a wall with a drink in his hand. She felt the same butterflies in her stomach she had when she saw him for the first time that morning.
"Don't enjoy a party?" Y/N asked with a smirk.
He turned his head in her direction, hoping it was not who he thought it was. When he saw her, he had the same feeling as this morning, and he didn't like it one bit.
"Prefer to be alone." He grunted, looking away.
His hoarse voice made her feel things she shouldn't be feeling.
"I'm Y/N Stark." She said, bowing. "And I won't bother you, Ser. Drinking alone next to horse shite seems like a fantastic plan."
Sandor looked at her again, finding a smug smirk in her face. Gods, that smile. "I'm no Ser. And you shouldn't be outside this late."
He stood up straight, which made her able to realize his actual height. He was huge compared to her. Well, compared to pretty much everyone.
"Oh, don't worry about me." She said. "I can take care of myself."
"Can you, now?" He let a little smirk show. He shouldn't be talking to her, let alone fucking flirting. What's wrong with him?
"Perfectly, eh..." She made a pause, suggesting him to introduce himself. She had to know the name of the man who's making her feel this way.
"Sandor." He said. "Sandor Clegane."
"I'll leave you to it then, Sandor Clegane." She turned to leave, looking at his lips for a few seconds beforehand. "Good night."
Watching her leave, all he could think about was the sound of his name, his real name, on her lips, and he wanted to hear it over and over again.
"Good night, little wolf." He whispered.
He avoided her as much as he could the following days, thinking that if he didn't see her, the feeling would go away. Yet, all he could think about was the movement of her legs as she walked away from him that night, her gaze on his lips, her own lips... It was driving him mad.
Y/N knew he was not going to initiate anything, so she decided to take the matter into her own hands. If he didn't want her, he would have to tell her himself.
Sandor was on the way to his chambers when he felt a hand on his forearm, dragging him into a room nearby. He tightened, motioning for his sword, but soon relaxed as he realized who it was.
"The fuck you doing?" He grunted, scanning the room. It looked like a storehouse of some kind.
"Well, hello to you too." She said, sarcasm evident in her voice and a smirk on her face.
He stood there, taking a look at her. The light in the room was dim, but he could appreciate her figure. She wasn't scared of him or disgusted by his face. Instead, she was standing there, teasing him, with that fucking smile on her face.
"I've been meaning to talk to you." She started. "But it seems we don't seem to happen to meet."
"Here I am." He says, his voice low and husky. "Talk."
She feels her nipples become hard at his tone, and she bits her lip.
His gaze moves to her breasts, his cock becoming hard at the sight. She's standing there, biting her lip, and looking at him with a look that makes him weak in the knees.
"If you keep looking at me like that, dove..." He sighs, taking a step towards her. He shouldn't, and he knows.
She instinctively takes a step back, meeting a wall. Looking up at him, she finds the courage to talk. "What are you going to do, big boy?"
He places a hand above her head on the wall, leaning into her. "Tell me to stop, Y/N." He whispers, their mouths approaching. "Tell me to stop because if you don't, I don't think I'm..."
She interrupts him by pressing her lips to his in a passionate kiss. He groans, kissing her back.
She throws her arms around his neck and, in response, he picks her up, her legs around his waist. She feels his tongue on her bottom lip, asking for permission, which she gladly gives him.
"Sandor." She moans against his lips.
"Fuck." He grunts, pressing her harder against the wall and moving his lips to her neck.
They make out for a few minutes. He doubts he's ever been harder and judging the sounds Y/N is making, she's pretty affected as well. This makes it really hard for him to stop, but he has to.
"Little wolf, I really don't want to stop, but we need to." He says against her lips. "We shouldn't be doing this."
"Sandor, I want you." She moans, kissing him again. "I don't care about my father, about my brothers or the fucking King."
This makes him laugh and he leans his head on her shoulder. "I'm not fucking you in a storehouse."
She groans desperately. "Why not?"
He laughs again, setting her on the ground. "Because I'm pretty sure you're a virgin." He starts, and she blushes. "Because you're Y/N Stark." He caresses her face. "And because I don't deserve you."
She frowns. "It's not for you to decide who I fuck, Sandor. I am a virgin, and I am Y/N Stark."
Sandor sighs.
She holds his face. "I hadn't felt this way about anybody in my life. I hadn't felt an urge to kiss someone, to be near someone."
He knows exactly what she's talking about, because he's feeling the exact same, so he leans in and kisses her. The kiss is different from the ones before, it's sweet.
"I'll come find you tonight." He whispers against her lips.
He turns, opening the door and holding it for her. She smiles at him, kissing him one more time before leaving. He stays in the room, smiling to himself. He is indeed fucked.
Could you possibly do one where Aemond reacts to finding out that he might have to marry Daemon’s daughter? Would he be mad or weirdly happy in a way. We all know what daemon thinks of what his brother has in store for his daughter and he is not having it.
𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐆𝐄
pairing: dad!daemon targaryen x mom!reader au | aemond targaryen x daemon's daughter!oc
warnings: fluff(?), aemond is his own warning, cussing because aemond has a dirty mouth.
author's note: I'm truly obsessed about this bc I never thought about Aemond's reaction to being betrothed. This is going to be in headcanon format due most of it just being from Aemond's pov. Thank you so much for your amazing idea <3 also wrote this while listening to "the red means i love you" and i'm shipping alymond 😭
"I know you're lying, Aegon. Don't you have anything better to do? Maybe some young maid to fuck?"
Aegon scoffed, "Well, if you don't believe me, go talk to father about it. I'm just telling you what I heard."
Aemond believed his brother was nothing but a drunk liar, so his word didn't actually meant anything.
But he went to talk to the King anyways.
While walking through the corridors, Aemond thought about what that meant to him.
He wanted to be mad about it, but it wasn't that bad.
In fact, it wasn't bad at all.
He knew Alyssa Targaryen pretty well. He knew how feisty that pretty little thing could be. She did took his eye, after all.
And Aegon wasn't lying.
"I don't hope you to understand, but our line must spread. She's a pure valyrian, and would make to you a good wif– Why are you smiling?" King Viserys questioned, raising a curious eyebrow.
Aemond chuckled, "Have you told Daemon?"
"I did... He was furious about it." Viserys confessed.
"Well, that's great! I'll give these exciting news to my betrothed, myself. I couldn't be more happy about your choice, father." Aemond left the king's chambers without discussing if Daemon agreed or not.
Aemond knew Daemon wouldn't let Alyssa marry him.
He also couldn't care less. His father was the king.
Aemond couldn't put in words the taste of satisfaction in his mouth once he knew how angry Daemon was about his union with his uncle's daughter.
The girl literally took his eye, the least she could do is marry him without complaining.
Oh, but she would be furious too. He knows she's just like her daddy.
"I figured I'd find you here." Aemond said with a smile.
Ever since Daemon gave her her own sword, Alyssa spent quite some time in the training yard when the boys weren't there.
Curiously, Aemond always knew when she was there.
"And what do you want?" Alyssa spat, slamming her sword towards a wooden target.
"I came to give you the great news! I couldn't believe my own ears when I heard it."
"Oh? Did your mother successfully try to kill anyone? I hope it was your grandsire. Gods, I hate that man." Alyssa chuckled and beheaded the target.
Aemond frowned and squinted. He wouldn't fall for her games. He was the one to tease, not her.
"Haha. You're so funny, Alyssa. I bet it wouldn't take long for me to fall for you." Aemond coaxed.
Alyssa blinked a couple of times, processing what he just said.
"What?"
"Did I stutter?" Aemond smirked.
Alyssa took a deep breath before asking, "What the fuck are you talking about, One Eye?"
Aemond clicked his tongue, "Gods, you're just as fucking stupid as you're pretty. It means we're betrothed. I'd be treating my future husband with respect, if I were you."
"Are you crazy?" Alyssa hysterically laughed, "My father would have your head before letting me marry you." She pointed her sword towards the prince, "I would have your head before giving myself to you."
"Kinky." Aemond retorted and lowered her sword with the point of his index. "Who's your father to disrespect the king's orders?"
Alyssa swallowed hard. She had no answer for that. Even the dumbest girl knows the king's word is above everything. And she is no dumb girl.
She left him there and went looking for her father.
She thought about a million possibilities.
Maybe she could run away? They lived in Pentos for a while, she'd do well there.
No, Y/N wouldn't let her go alone.
What about Daeron? If she begged, maybe the king could call him back to King's Landing, so they could get married.
To be truthful, Alyssa didn't want to marry any of Alicent's kin, but anyone was better than Aemond.
But Daeron was the same age as her brother, Maegon. That was kinda disgusting.
"Did you know uncle Viserys wants to marry me to Aemond?" Alyssa stormed into her parents chambers.
Daemon's lips immediately left yours. You groaned in response.
"Maybe knock the next time, Alyssa?" You said in annoyance.
"Sorry mother, but I think what I have to say is way more important than you snogging with father." Alyssa answered with wit.
Daemon smirked, "It's okay, 'Lyssa. I'll talk to Viserys again. You know I'd die before letting this happen."
You rolled your eyes, "You're both being dramatic about it. Aemond is not that bad. He's a bit... violent, yes, but he would never hurt you. I promise you, daughter, violent men can be great lovers." You ran your fingers through your husband's little braids in his hair.
"Don't go giving her any ideas, Y/N." Daemon warned with a stern look, and you snorted.
"She's a grown woman, Daemon. There's a sword in her hand. I don't think you need to protect her anymore." You shrugged.
"Hello??? I'm still in the room, please stop talking about me like I'm not here!" Alyssa crossed her arms.
"Don't worry. I told Viserys you're not marrying Aemond, so you're not marrying Aemond. Is that clear?" Daemon asked, reassuring her.
"Yes, father."
It's Just Business Three
YOU THOUGHT I FORGOT? NEVER!
Tumblr media
Look at that face! Look!
Fandom: One Piece (LA mainly)
Rating: Teen so far
Pairing: Sanji/Reader
Warnings: No real warnings, but god, I hope you like pining
Summary: You felt like you had known Sanji forever, considering your family had been the main merchants Zeff used to supply the Baratie. You had a small crush on him, but knew it was hopeless considering you were the one woman he didn't seem to pine over.
It was fine. Or so you thought until you ended up on the Going Merry as a bookkeeper and supply manager. Being around him 24/7 was a lot more difficult than just a few days a week.
(Please note 》°《 denotes a scene in the past while -*- will be a regular scene break. Because yeah, I like my non-linear story telling.)
Masterpost | Ao3
You weren’t unfamiliar with fighting. After all, merchant ships attracted pirates like honey attracted flies.
But damn, the fishman pirates were really of a different breed. You were on the defensive more than anything, blocking blows and only able to land a few potshots in retaliation. You could feel bruises already blooming from where you got hit, the unsettling feeling of blood trickling from various wounds.
But you didn’t give up. How could you when the others kept bravely fighting? Zoro’s blades danced in the air with unnatural graces against the other pirates, the man barely waivering despite the fact he still had his massive injuries from Mihawk. And Sanji was far more skilled than yourself considering he trained regularly with Zeff, his long legs proving to be far stronger than they looked.
Except as much as they fought against Arlong's pirates, the two men were bickering heatedly amongst themselves too - which was not helping anyone except the enemy.
“Will you two stop fighting!” You snarled as you ended up between the green-hair swordsman and the blond chef--both literally and figuratively. “Beat these assholes and then have at it for all I care, but god damn if we lose I am going to murder you both.”
Zoro shot you a dark look, as if to silently scoff at the fact you could even hope to beat him - you couldn’t, but you would try your best, god damn it - before he rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the fishmen that were regrouping.
Sanji however, frowned as he looked you over and stepped closer to wipe blood from your lip. “I told you that you should have stayed back on the ship, or even the village.”
You glared at him. “The only orders I take are the ones I get paid for,” You shot back. “Just ‘cause you’re stronger than me doesn’t make you my boss.”
His frown deepened. "That's not what I meant. I just mean you'd be safer back on the Going Merry."
"We all would, but that's not why we came, is it?" You hated the fact he had been right about Nami, but you hated Arlong and his crew more for what they did to the young woman. You had gripped Sanji’s hand tightly when you heard Nami softly ask Luffy for help, full of rage on her behalf for what the bastards had done. He had squeezed back as he took a drag of his cigarette, as if silently promising that you would get revenge on her behalf.
"I thought you said something about fighting them, not each other," Zoro yelled out, three swords holding back the pirates while you and Sanji argued.
"Mind your damn own business!" You and Sanji snarled at the green haired swordsman at the same time.
You were fairly certain you heard Zoro curse you both, swearing something about waiters and bossy women. You ignored his comment as  Sanji darted for one of the gray-skinned fishmen, and you followed suit.
-*-
It had been a knife in your heart when Sanji greeted Nami so warmly, sounding so elated to see the red-head.
Yet the fact she passed him and went for Zoro and Usopp made you cackle heartedly despite yourself, going as far as leaning on the dejected man as you tried to calm your laughter. (The mix of the battle high and relief it was over may have made you a bit unusually giggly.)
“It’s not that funny,” He grumbled, though at the same time his arm wrapped around your waist to help steady you.
“I’m sorry,” You wheezed, pressing your head against his shoulder. “You just… and she didn’t even pause. My poor boy, I don’t think she’s that into you.”
Sanji was quiet as you calmed yourself, though his arm never left your waist, or even loosened the smallest bit. “Sometimes a woman requires a bit of wooing,” He defended once your laughter died away, making you snort. “Nami’s been through a rough time, so of course she’d run to her friends.”
You tried to keep the smile on your face despite any trace of humor draining from your heart. He was in deep this time, wasn’t he?
It was probably a good thing you’d be parting ways, so you didn’t have to watch him try to woo her, as he said. Even if it meant you wouldn’t see him for who knew how long. Or the fact the idiot could die out on the open sea and you would never see him again. Never see the humor in his bright blue eyes, lips twitching in a smile. Never be able to bicker good-naturedly with him, arguing just for the sake of arguing. Or just feel at home with his casual touch--he was one of the very few who you felt safe enough to indulge in that need for physical touch.
Sanji spoke your name softly, drawing you from your thoughts. “You okay?” He asked as you looked up and was able to see worry pinching his eyebrows together.
You offered a weak smile. “Yeah, just tired all of a sudden. Adrenaline must be wearing off.”
The concerned expression didn’t leave despite the soft smile on his lips. His thumb rubbed along the curve of your wait reassuringly as he pulled you closer. "Once Luffy's finished, we'll head back and I'll make a big meal, okay? Just hang in there until then.
Oh, it wasn't the immediate future you were worried about. But you nodded your head nevertheless, and tried to enjoy what short time you had left with your friend before you parted ways.
~*~
Despite your obvious exhaustion, you assisted with preparing the celebratory meal that night, for which Sanji was thankful. You weren’t exactly one of the line cooks of the Baratie, but you knew enough that he didn’t have to worry once he explained his initial idea of a large stir-fry.
He was looking forward to more of this; the adventure, fulfilling his dream of finding the All Blue, Zeff’s dream. But also sharing it all with you. Seeing you more than just a few times a week, stealing short moments between both your duties and his.
The two of you had always been close and had shared a few small (and some not so small) adventures through the years. He couldn’t lie to himself, his feelings for you were far from platonic, but the problem was you thought you knew him too well and never believed he was being serious as he tried to flirt. No matter how close he held you, or how many times he pressed kisses to you head and hand while calling you sweetheart, you thought he was just kidding. That it was all platonic.
He wasn’t sure how you were going to react when --if-- you ever realized the truth.
》°《
Zeff frowned as he looked down at you and Sanji, both of you out of breath and covered in sweat as you sat back to back. "You two shrimps are pitiful, really."
You grumbled as you leaned against Sanji, trying to catch your breath. He had been beating your ass fairly, though at least you had given him a work out.
"We've been doing this all afternoon," Sanji shot back, still full of spit and vinegar in his small body despite everything. "Let her have a break, and I'll fight you instead."
You moved to look at him, confused. He… was defending you? After the fact you were in this position because you had been fighting in the pantry?
Zeff laughed, his arms crossed in front of his chest that was probably bigger than both you and Sanji combined. "You think you can take me, little eggplant?"
Even with one just a thin pegleg, you knew to challenge Zeff was a death wish. Your parents had told you stories of Red Leg Zeff of the Cook Pirates, likely in an attempt to make you behave when aboard the Baratie.
Yet despite knowing how harsh Zeff truly could be, Sanji only glared harder. "I'd rather take you than force her to do any more training."
Zeff smirked, though his expression softened.  "You little shit. How about you go scrounge up some lunch for you both and take a rest. And maybe next time you won't be so prone to starting fights."
The captain-chef turned and left you and Sanji alone on the deck. You groaned as you tried to flop down on the slatted wood, except Sanji wrapped an arm around your shoulders and kept you sitting up. How he still had any energy or strength was beyond you. You felt boneless. Or maybe more like all your bones had been shattered.
"You heard the old bastard," Sanji said as he pulled you up as if you were just an overly large flour bag. "Let's go get you some food."
"God, how do you have energy?" You whined as he helped you back inside.
"I train at least twice a day, more if I piss the geezer off,” was his grumbled answer.
What little energy you could spare was used to have a flash of empathy for him; you couldn't imagine having to do this twice a day. "So, you’re Mr. Fancypants in the kitchen and on the battlefield."
He shot you a smile that looked a lot like Zeff’s when he was somewhat proud of something. "Heh, guess you could say that."
