I wrote some stuff about my TTS Miraculous AU last night (very late hahehhe).
Adira and Hector got their Miraculous at age 17 and 15 respectively. Both were so excited to have that power, in their own ways!
One of the things I couldn't settle on was what their hero names should be. I think I finally chose them!
I've got a few blurbs under the cut :]
One of them is of "present-time" Hector interacting with his successor, Eugene! The other two are "flashback" scenes of young Adira and Hector hahehe.
"Make sure you pick a good hero name." Hector grins, and Eugene looks up at him with a smile.
"Yeah? That sounds easy enough. How 'bout something dashing, something epic like— oh! Like Flynn Rider?"
Hector snorts. "You might not want to use an actual human name," Eugene pouts. "'Cause that's how Adira got stuck with Wildcard."
"Wait, she didn't choose to be The Wildcard?" Eugene looks genuinely surprised. "But that's such a badass name!"
"Hah! She hated it! She didn't pick a hero name 'cause she wanted to use her own. But that ended up in people not remembering her actual name and just calling her by stuff like "the red heroine" or "the spotted hero" until they eventually settled on The Wildcard."
"Huh."
"So if you don't want to get assigned a hero name, kid, you better choose a good one to begin with. Or don't," he shrugs. "And let the world choose how they'll call the next Cat. Who knows! Maybe they'll call you Kitten!"
"Shut up."
"Cub then!" He grins. "Since you're Panther's little heir and all!"
Eugene groans as Hector kept suggesting awful names in a joking way.
---
"Panther!" Hector almost shouts, making a cat-like pose that matches his hero outfit. "It's the perfect name!"
"But you already have a name," Adira, in her own special outfit, tilts her head in confusion. "It's Hector."
"I'm talking 'bout my hero name! Panther! Yeah, I can hear it already! The way that the moment I show up, my enemies are gonna go 'oh CRAP!! It's Panther!! Run, run!' and the people I'm saving will be all 'Oh my stars it's Panther!! He's here to save us! I'm such a big fan I'm gonna faint aauuuhhh!" Panther mockingly faints, earning a raise of eyebrows from his sister. He perks up soon after. "What's your hero name gonna be?"
"I have a name, it's Adira."
"But you gotta have something!" He argues. "A name that's gonna make the villains run away screaming and make civilians immediately melt in relief because they know they'll be saved!"
"Yeah, my name. Adira."
"You're so boring!"
"I just don't see the point of a nickname. My name is already terrifying to my foes and already comforting to my friends. Isn't that good enough?"
"Kay, then. But just know that our team name is gonna sound awful!"
"'Adira and Hector' sounds nice."
"'Panther and Adira' does not!"
"'Adira and Panther' sounds nice too."
"I sound like I'm your pet!" He pouts. "Also why does your name go first?"
"I'm older. Also, aren't cats usually house pets?"
He blows her a raspberry.
"So mature. See, that's why I'm the leader."
"A terrible one!"
"If I followed your ideas, yes, I'd be one."
"Shut up!!"
Quirin, watching his siblings from a higher spot, snorts.
'I'm the leader here.'
---
"What's up, Wildcard?" Hector snickers, as Quirin led their kwamis to eat on a nearby table.
"That's not my name." Adira cooly replies, but Hector can feel the annoyance underneath.
"Maybe you should've picked one yourself, I told you it'd be useful—"
"No you didn't."
"—and now's too late! It stuck! Now that's what everybody knows you for!" He snorts.
She huffs. "That's stupid. I have an actual name that people could know me for! It's not even hard to remember! Adira! Adira! It's five simple letters! How can Wildcard be better than Adira?"
"It's more memorable!" He grins. "Your strategies are always crazy! Everytime you pull a seemingly random Lucky Charm to do some wild plan you just concocted— you are a wildcard!"
"I am Adira." She grumbles.
"You're both!" He smiles.
"I hate this." She pouts.
"Oh?" He grins. "So it sucks to get nicknamed after your most memorable traits instead of just being referred to by your name?"
She glares.
"Oh, c'mon. You're lucky you didn't get named 'Spots'!"
"Shut up." She jokingly pushes him away as he laughs.
"Or 'Bugette'! Maybe the 'Red Lady Beetle'? Oh! How about 'The Spotted Hero: Lady Luck'?"
"Shut it!" By this point, she was almost smiling herself.
Though it has taken her a little while to get used to the new alias... She had to admit it did feel a little satisfying for villains to grow uneasy everytime The Wildcard was rumored to be around.
